Levi couldn't help but watch the messages go by. Her sister talking with her brother, the notorious G-Force. What was she going to really do about that girl? tell Caitlyn that there's a villain out there who is going after heroes? She wasn't going after the civilian population. Why did it matter? Why save just one life, when you could save a dozen others. Was it right to prioritize others because of their relation to you, or was that just as evil to choose someone's life over the other? That was the job of a professional hero, to make the calls no one else could. Levi knew the identity of the pro hero, and with the recent events of Tokyo 5 being hijacked, she was already on edge. Just the dozen heroes wasn't enough to stop them. Dividing Japan in sections wasn't going to get things done. Even if their was a few heroes to each zone, more than a few rimes could happen at once. Villains outnumbered them. That was the truth.
Levi sighed, asking her few questions while holding onto her mug of hot chocolate. She flipped open her laptop, and set her phone down. With a few key strokes and the press of a button, the camera was turned on, and the girl spoke from the comfort of her own bed room.
"Tonight is the night." Levi said, staring at the little camera as if it was a person. "I have this programmed to upload in two weeks time. Tonight is the night I go after a villain. Lala is all of information I have, as well as her description. Though, I suppose that's details to reveal later. I heard from just a conversation that the name she goes by is Lady Lavende." Words spoken in her own home, by people she had to pretend to not know.
"If you are watching this. Chances are, I've been taken hostage, or I'm dead. The the case of the first, leave me to die. Don't risk your life going after me. Heroes have to make hard choices. I would rather die knowing other people have been given a chance to live, than to live knowing I put others at risk." Levi closed her eyes, taking in a deep breath, sitting rather calmly about her plans.
"If I do not make it long enough to intercept my own scheduled broadcast, I want to be remembered as who I used to be, by the people I know. And not what the villains will turn me out to be.
My name is Leviathan. At least, that's what everyone calls me. I have been operating under the name Monochrome. I was once a student at Yuuei, and I had dropped out from my own choices. It was hard to want to train to be a hero, when so much can be done right now, as a civilian.
To Miku, I'm really happy I met you, and you were the best niece anyone could have. Thank you for being my friend." And so her list began, listing everyone in her life.
"Genzu, I hope I didn't make you feel too weird when we first talked. You're a really good guy. I can see why Kasey talks about you all the time.
Kasey, be good to everyone, alright? Not everything is about Seki.
Lyn, you're beautiful. Don't let anyone say otherwise. This is our world now.
Jay, don't touch my stuff. I'll be watching you. Weirdo." her eyes would narrow at the camera, only for her to smile after. It seemed to be a joke of sorts. But could a girl really take death so lightly? "And if you're done with it. I want the world to hear our song."
"Yumi, lighten up. You're really nice.
Chimera, you were the best friend I could ever ask for. Thank you for everything.
Darren, you still have bitch hands.
Maxi, none of this was your fault. And," for once during the video, Levi looks away, a hand covering her mouth as her eyes scan the room. She blinks a few times, her eyes turning red. She looks back at the camera, sniffles and wipes her nose on her sleeve. She looks at the computer, below the camera. "just know that... I'll always love you. No matter what." Levi looks away again, only to take a deep breath, clearing her throat. Her hands wrap around the mug, and she looks back at the camera.
"To everyone else, even if I didn't say you're name. You matter. I hope someone out there can remember me, even for just a frame of my life. Then maybe all of this would be worth it." She smiles. Her hand reaches out to the computer, and with a click, the video stops.
The girl reaches to the bag on her bed, and the few things she had prepared on the shelf by her door. She gets up, only to pause. She lifts her hand to drag the knife off the shelf, taking the bag in her other hand. Levi pulls on the zipper and tosses the blade inside. With another deep breath, she reaches for the doorknob, only to pause once more.
"Blessed is the maker that protects me." She begun to recite, "Blessed is the king that guides me. Blessed are those that follow me into the dark and from the light. . ." A rite of protection, from a god she had not believed in until only recently. The girl's head extends back to the shelf, only to hold onto the one figure she treasured most.
The door clicked.
And the girl was never to be seen again.
