Jasmine hefted a heavy sigh as she stared at the screen of her phone, leaning back onto her chair. She dropped the device lazily on her desk, having agreed to meet with Saito for some late night sparring. It was already dark outside and the only source of light in Jasmine's room was the screen of the laptop seemingly glaring at her face. Christ who the hell set her brightness setting on steroids? Was Rin messing with her PC again? That'd be the day.
Honestly the more Jasmine stared at her screen the more annoyed she got. This paper was not supposed to take this long. Yeah momentum and aerodynamics were cool subjects but they were also topics that Jasmine was very familiar of already on account of her mastery over airborne mobility using her quirk. Explaining something which, to her, was not much more than childsplay shouldn't have taken this damn long. The American teen ended up skipping her usual training routine over it and it left a bad taste in her mouth. She was no stranger to spontaneity and her schedule randomly changing but this was uncalled for on so many levels.
She groaned to herself overdramatically; whatever, this paper can screw itself, and as though to emphasize this fact she slammed her laptop shut with so much force for a second it seemed like the device would break in two... she made sure to save the paper to her cloud file before she did, though. Just in case.
Changing into her normal jogging gear consisting of a T-shirt, a hoodie, sweatpants and sneaker, Jasmine quickly went out the door and began her usual routine of running down the stairs, all while pacing herself. She had managed to snag a spar against Saito - one of the more curious fellows at Yuuei. From what she had seen during their exchange in one of Geist's lessons, she was quite surprised by his ability to take and give a punch. She was even more so surprised when she found out that the kid wasn't even in one of the hero courses. Kind of a waste, really.
It didn't take her long to reach the festival area at the pace she was going and by the time she reached it she had already begun building something of a sweat. Standing in the lamp-lit arena, Jasmine started going through her stretching routines, waiting for her training buddy to show up.

Stepping out of his shower, Satio regarded the chill wind blowing through his open bathroom door. It made for a bracing breeze, something to wake him up further, to help him dry. He’d been talked into a spar – which was rare enough as is – with Jasmine Noir, a fiery blonde that busted his head open a while back during a combat exercise. It wasn’t too bad, the dimmed hearing and painful headaches were the worst part of the injury, but it still woke him up a little bit to the potential power of his peers. He dressed in some simple, disposable clothes, cotton tee and black-blue running trousers that wouldn’t restrict movement. Shrugging on his hoodie, his still damp hair flicking droplets against his mirror. No quirks. That was an important part of their deal. Saito wasn’t into using his quirk at the best of times – when they’d fought before, he thought he had better control of it. He did not.
It was late. Night, actually, as he quietly plodded down the dorm’s stairs and into the open campus, on his way to the place Jasmine had called him to. Low light wasn’t that big a deal. And, oddly, he wasn’t even that nervous. In the end, Saito’d noticed that Jas had been stressing over this test-thing she’d spent hours doing and figured she needed to blow off steam. He was willing to help in that regard. As he walked, he wrapped his hands and forearms in tight bandage, for grip and protection. He arrived a few minutes after Jasmine, as the boys dorm was much closer to the area, walking under the lamp-light and towards the stretching blonde, he called out. “Yo!”
Saito strolled, very casually, opposite of Jasmine and watched her stretch for a while. “How was the paper? Ya got it done, right?” He asked, more out of curiosity than anything else. As he awaited an answer, he followed Jasmine’s example, using wide and encompassing stretches to get the blood to his toned body.
Fighting without quirks was gonna be interesting. Saito at least knew how she fought when she had her quirk available. Fast and hard, leaving no room for a counter-attack. But without it, who knows? Maybe she’d use some weird kung fu shit on him. Saito had no fancy martial arts at his side. No karate or Korean Hapkido or anything like that. Just him and his fists. “You ready?” He felt his heart pick up pace. This was gonna be fun. “Don’t go easy on me now, let that steam blow, Blondie.” Then he shoved his hands in his pockets, smirked his usual smirk and waited for Jasmine’s first move, his presence expanding into an aura of confidence and enjoyment; as if Saito’s mere smile made the lamp light flicker their tiny, sectioned off pocket of the world into something only they could move and fight within. His stance was lax, but his foot placement was pristine, his hands only floating in his pockets to be brought out in the blink of an eye. Forget the rest of the world, Jasmine. Me and you now. His infinitely star-blue eyes almost blazed in the night, meeting the ravenous fire resting in the eyes of his opponent. Thus, began their spar.

"'Sup," Jasmine greeted back with a lazy salute while she was going through her warm up routine, giving Saito a small smile. Truth be told while she was a brutal fighter who never gave any quarter the American still felt a little bad about splitting the dude's head open. A miscalculation on her part, to be sure, but it seemed like Saito wasn't holding it against her all that much so she figured it wasn't a big issue, if it was an issue at all.
"Uh, yeah. It was just some extra curricular bullshit I needed to take care of. Going to be taking a week off of school soon so I'm working ahead so the teachers don't have anything to complain about," Jasmine explained briefly. She had been planning going back home to New York for far too long now, especially with that last call she received from Nat. The blonde really needed to go back home to see what all the fuss is about. That and, well... visiting Michael's grave wasn't a bad idea either.
In any case, that could wait. At this point she had a spar to think about and by the looks of it Saito was rearing to go too. "Gee, thanks. I'll try not to bust your head open again," she jabbed jokingly, a small smirk on her face. This was a simple spar. No obscure tactics were needed here. Because of this, all Jasmine did was get into a simple orthodox stance; both hands up, left fist and foot forward. Despite being simple, the stance itself showed how ready Jasmine was, leaving practically no openings visible to the uninitiated. Calmly she stepped forward, hopping up and down as she approached the male. The second Jasmine was close enough, she'd test the waters out with a simple yet quick jab of her left arm, aiming straight for Saito's chin.
