Personality:
Seiko usually has a quiet and sleepy disposition and at first, may come off as a little asocial, but she becomes a lot more lively when discussing topics she is truly passionate for, such as programming, robotics and especially, games. She isn't the type of person to spout out immediately what's on her mind. She is extremely observant and analytical as she often chooses first to absorb all the information she can before making a decision or acting. In fact, she has an odd habit of taking long pauses during conversations, using the time to concentrate on what wants to say and how to say it.
She can be stern and bluntly honest at times, forgetting to take other people's feelings into consideration or not understanding how others may feel about her comments. However, her comments come from a place of kindness. Even if what she says can be taken as an insult, her intention is never to insult, only to inform. She enjoys helping others and wants to see others happy, although she'll downplay her helpfulness and kindheartedness as being simple gestures that anybody would do in her place.
Despite her extraordinary talent in technology, Seiko thinks very lowly of herself compared to others. She doesn't believe she is anything but average. However, this attitude doesn't make her feel bad, it instead drives her to be the best she can, so that perhaps one day, she might be something more than average. Level-headed and pragmatic, she may sometime stand as the source of reason if she feels that she needs to.

HISTORY
Seiko Hashida was born on March 15th, 2059 in Hokkaido, Japan in the town of Rikubetsu. Seiko was a very sickly infant, right from the start, having been born with a rare recessive genetic disorder known as congenital muscular dystrophy, a progressive muscular degenerative disease that left her with functional aphonia (the inability to speak), weak muscles, and a whole other assortment of muscular problems. At first, the disease had a very poor prognosis even with intensive medical treatment. It would take a miracle for there to be any hope in the future of her. Fortunately, a miracle did occur in the form of a quirk. Manifesting early on, it helped slowed the progression of the disorder significantly.
Still, because she was so young, its ability was diminished. Seiko still required extensive medical treatment alongside medicine that she needed to frequently take to help alleviate some of her symptoms. The frequency of visits to the doctor prevented her from attending public school, so instead, Seiko was homeschooled. In fact, she spent a large part of her life inside her home. However, her parents were determined to give their frail daughter a decent life regardless of her condition. While being cautioned, they encouraged her to learn, be it through books, the television, and even online once they bought her a personal computer.
For a child of her age, Seiko was surprisingly very intelligent and also quite curious. Due to being confined in a small house, she became fascinated with computers at an early age. Initially, she started out by playing with programs on the computer and messing around with the files, but before long, she was learning how to program. She taught herself languages such as C++, Javascript, and Python., Her parents picked up on this and bought her a computer for her eighth birthday. However, while learning how to manipulate computers in her favor, Seiko became interested in another field. Robotics.
Seiko would take apart electronics to see how they worked, destroying many of them in the process but learning a whole lot. She would then use parts inside of them and make her own Frankenstein creations from the corpses of said electronics. She would create an assortment of weird robots over the years; AI-controlled toy cars that mapped out the house and could navigate without assistance, home-made drones that could home in and ram themselves at a person if it detected anger in a face and so on. She also found that making robots that would break themselves or were completely useless to be incredibly funny.
When she wasn't creating useful and/or stupid robots, making programs on her computer, or being taught another subject by her mother, Seiko was playing video games. She has a strong passion for games and grew to love them more and more as she grew older. Being that she was so isolated from kids her age and having a complete lack of social life, Seiko was ecstatic about making friends online through forums and the games she played. While she was unable to speak and use voice chat until much later in life when she received a surgery rectifying her muteness, she made avid use of the text chat and communicated through other means as well. She especially enjoyed VR games, frequenting games such as VRChat as a way to socialize with others.
Once she became a teenager, it became strikingly clear that Seiko would pursue a career in robotics. However, she didn't feel very excited about the future jobs her parents presented her with. It wasn't until she brought up these problems to a friend online that she was given the advice and inspiration she so desperately needed. Instead, she decided to pursue a future in heroics.. as a support hero. She could create robots, gadgets and more for heroes who could use it to help better the world. It sounded like a great idea and her parents agreed. Her parents were nervous, however, about sending off to her school by herself so they packed up all the stuff and decided to move to Musutafu as well so they could keep a watchful eye over their daughter as she pursued an education at U.A Highschool.
