WORD COUNT; TAGGED: TAGGED: Fluffy Puppets were now idly walking the streets of the little makeshift town. Their movements baggy and strange, clearly not humanoid. It was, however, the best that they could offer on such a short notice. Everything had been prepared for the upcoming event. Ground Beta had successfully been established. Ground Beta was an enormous 1 by 1 kilometer large square with four entrances/exits. Within this square, a faux city had been created, modelled on popular locations from Tokyo, Musutafu and Osaka primarily. The faux city had four major areas, which sported slightly different building layouts. One area had primarily the rural influence. Houses were slightly larger at the base floor, more traditional in nature, with more spacing and open areas around each building. The buildings also weren't terribly tall, primarily one to three storied. The secondary area was a generic housing area you could find in the middle of the city. Several taller buildings, upwards of twelve stories, lay placed here. The housing was primarily rentable appartments. At the street level, ther were also a series of convenience stores and other shopping needs. The third area was an industrial area, filled with larger than average buildings, pipes and such things. Smoke seemed to rise from many of the silos. The main traffic here seemed to be large trucks. Finally, there was the entertainment area. Clubs, cafés, casinos, bars, bowling alley, laser-tag. Practically everything you'd desire when having a fantastic night out.
Populating these areas, were practically what one could expect. There was traffic, driving casually around the city. Taxis, trucks, pickups. It was clear that these fauxes weren't actual cars, as much as mash of paper on rails, but it looked reasonable enough. There were individuals walking the streets, exchanging good by stands and otherwise trying to appear like normal city-life. Granted, since they were puppets created by a quirk, they were very limited in function, but at least the city felt somewhat populated. It was within this little faux city, that the obstacle part of the competition would take place. Ningyo, being ever impartial, would ensure that neither teams gained an unfair advantage...
Scattered across the city as well, were strangely marked levers, positioned mainly by areas that seemed particularly trafficed. These levers took some time to activate, giving off an indication to the hero team of exactly where the lever was being activated from. Once activated the levers would be generating some kind of disaster. For instance, the lights could all switch to green, causing a massive pileup in the middle of the road. Scaffolding could begin falling down, severely hurting everyone caught underneath. In short, disasters on demand. Disaster levers. The competition would be fairly simple. One team would be pretend-heroes. The other team would be pretend-villains. The hero team would start with two-hundred points. If a villain managed to entirely escape the exercise, the heroes would lose fifty. In addition, each civillian hurt by the activation of a disaster lever, would deduct another five points. Once enough time had passed, or all the points had been deducted, the exercise would then swap the teams, meaning the hero team would become villains and vice versa.
In essence, heroes were meant to capture the villains while securing and ensuring the safety of civillians. The villains were meant to cause as much disaster as possible, while avoiding being caught. To catch a villain, all the hero team would have to do, was touch the villain and apply a captured mark onto their clothes. As such, standing your ground to fight as the villain may not be the smartest solution. From there, it was a judgement call. Would you prioritize escaping..? Would you feel more confident in causing some disasters, sealing away some of your opponent's points that way?... There were many ways to approach this, and it had Ningyo somewhat excited to see what the students may choose. Licking her lips joyously, she awaited the arrival of those that would go Sixth.

Well, this was going to be fun. Jun always managed to get herself into strange situations with even stranger company. Not to say that her attending a hero school in Japan was the oddest part, but already choosing to be a part of the first ever Sports Festival held at it is. There wasn't much on the line for her except to look as cool as possible, which wouldn't exactly be tricky for someone like her. Sporting the gym uniform that was given to her and the biggest size of slushie she could buy, the sugary girl would make her way to the hallway just before the entrance to Ground Beta, eyebrows raising at the presence of a familiar face," Yo, Eli!" It wasn't often that they saw each other- only knowing of his existence through P.E. class and the chatroom she frequented nowadays. His hair was as bright and prickly as ever, and she'd step up to him with a lazy wave," It's me, your best bud Jun~" Slurping noisily at the straw with red-stained lips, Jun would find it quite easy to keep up the small talk. She had no reason to be anxious when near an almost-stranger, and she'd reach into her pocket to pull out a grape sucker as an icebreaker," Gotta come prepared when you have a Quirk like mine." Giving him a toothy grin, she'd lean on the wall near him. She'd never noticed that they were the same height, and would make many mental notes as she watched him with slightly intrigued turquoise eyes. It wasn't often that she stood still long enough to smell the roses, so it was a refreshing change for the girl. Life tended to move too fast for Jun, and she found enjoyment noticing the smaller details when she could- the curve of his jaw, a small twinkle in his eye. Though she tended to act the part of a fool in the chatroom, the girl was much more observant than she led on. Breaking the stare as she realized she'd done it too long, Jun would shrug," Listen, I dunno what I'm expecting outta this, but we gotta look super cool doing it. That's like... the one rule." The jokester inside of her came out to entertain Eli a bit in case he was feeling nervous for the course to start, the sound of slurping cutting through the silences that would occur between them every now and then. Some prepared with stretches and mental hardening. Jun? Jokes and sweets. " Also, don't worry about a thing." Bringing up a hand to pat his shoulder reassuringly, the girl would try a different approach if jokes weren't the boy's cup of tea while everything was so tense," When I'm involved, things tend to go right." Shrugging with a cocky grin on her mouth, the teenager would take yet another gulp of her slushie down her gullet. The action would start soon, she was sure of it, and her sugar levels were just where they needed to be!
Crystallization
Type: Emitter
Rank: E
Effects: Jun's sweet-tooth comes in handy, as she is able to form hardened sugar crystals from her skin! These sugar crystals are as strong as stone, and are able to break stone. With this, forming armor and large crystalline fists to beat people with is a piece of cake!
The crystals that Jun forms are only able to be manipulated when she is touching them.
Drawback and Weaknesses: Sugar must be consumed to form the sugar crystals. Not only that, but the only way to be rid of the crystal constructs is to either shatter or dissolve them in water. Once shattered, the remaining pieces will burst into unrefined sugar.
Since her quirk is centered around her sugar levels, if Jun uses her quirk too much or too extremely the first symptoms of hypoglycemia will begin to set in- dizziness, confusion, heart palpitations, shaking, and more. If not treated quickly enough, it could prove fatal through insulin shock.

The time had finally come, it was time fo Eli to shine as he took center stage in the obstacle course. A few days prior, Eli had expressed his interest in the event and signed himself up. Since a little bit before that, he had been training nonstop. Only leaving room for a little bit of rest, food time, and some sleep. Was he sleep deprived? A little bit, but he made sure to rest enough the night before. He also made sure to eat breakfast that morning so he wouldn't be lacking in energy either. A bit before it started, he was told to head to Ground Beta. Usually Eli would just think random thoughts while heading to the designated area. His mind wandered to the beginning of the festival, when he had played in the opening with OD Hazard. He remembered how nervous he was and how in his mind, he freaked out up until he performed. As soon as he had hit the stage though, he did amazing. Then it wandered to the second big incident that had made him extremely nervous, the tournament. He had signed up reluctantly and as it approached the day of it, he had gotten increasingly more nervous. Just like with the band, that had gone fairly well in Eli's opinion too! Therefore, Eli wasn't too heavily nervous for the obstacle course. Everything had gone well so far, and this would go perfectly fine too! With his nervousness gone, he headed for his destination! As Eli arrived at Ground Beta in his UA gym outfit, he headed for the right wall and leaned on it, tapping his right foot to keep him occupied. He wanted to come up with a strategy to give to his partner, but he wasn't aware of any details of the obstacle course that could help him come up with one. Time was moving fast for Eli, so before he knew it Jun had arrived and greeted him breaking his thought process, "Oh hey Jun! Quite the coincidence that we ended up being partners huh?" Eli said, acknowledging the black haired girls existence. Jun's jokes weren't necessarily not appreciated by Eli but...he didn't need it, and now wasn't the time for her jokes, now was the time to plan out what they were gonna be doing! "I appreciate you trying to calm me down, but I promise I'm not nervous at all. I'm also not gonna leave it all to you, but enough sidetracking, we should start planning so that we go in with more of a plan then just: It usually goes well for me. Not that I don't believe in your luck, I just prefer to increase our chances!" It was obvious that Jun was a joker, but Eli already knew that from when they first met in P.E. Class. They hadn't interacted much outside of that and the UA chat room, but Eli knew she was strong based on Miku's information gathering skills. Bless that girl, even if she was Akios girlfriend Eli couldn't get mad at her, after all she got him some information on some of the foreign students! Eli's serious expression looked into Jun's eyes as he began to speak, "So for starters I think we should both explain our quirks. I can create and manipulate diamonds within a certain amount and distance. I can only control them up to around 10 meters, and I usually create a sword and shield for myself, but I can try to work with something that plays more to your strengths if you want. I would show you right now, but I think it's best not to exhaust my quirk quite yet. It'll be best not to split up either way, we don't know our enemy or objective yet so that's about as good a strategy I can come up with. Can't wait to see you in action!" With his explanation done, Eli stopped talking and prepared to listen to his partner. Combat: E-Rank Diamond manifestation and manipulation F-Rank Agility F-Rank Speed F-Rank Sword fighting

Wherever Huang Lan walked there was a caustic air of irritation. The wind itself blew hard through the hallway, unmitigated by the breaks of strewn pallets and maintenance equipment. His heavy steps followed the crash of a swinging door. Intense eyes lanced down the tunnel-like hallway, catching sight of students in U.A’s sports uniform. Huang hung back, awaiting his teammate to come through the same door that, through the obnoxious network of ways, lead to their changing room. When she joined him, he wordlessly stalked towards who he could only think was their competition for this stupid event. Some kind of high-budget obstacle course. Huang gave neither the loud mouth redhead or the bespectacled noirette the time of day, not even a glance; his focus maintained on a sprocket he fiddled with as he walked. To them, he’d probably come off as very rude. Good. If his partner, in all her bounciness, would want to greet their competition. Idiot. Huang had better things to do. Win, for one. He peeked his head out the mouth of the hall, glancing out to the grand expanse of Ground Beta. His plan was simple. His plan was decisive. Fiddling further with that sprocket, he strode forth. Unto victory. It would be mere moments before the heroes and villains were decided. Before the hunters chased prey. He tossed aside the sprocket, a jagged edge digging into the dirty concrete. Fenghuang would take today as a medal and trophy.

WORD COUNT; TAGGED: TAGGED: Fluffy Why on earth didn't a single indivdual here speak Chinese?! It was like being trapped in an alternate reality where nothing made sense, yet everything sounded so strangely familiar! Jin had gotten lost not once, not twice, not three times, but a whole effing lot of times before she had made it to the place they were meant to be. Panting, gasping, she joined her teammate, huddled over ever so slightly while she was trying to catch her breath. Immediately as she had done so, an enormous stream of chinese left her lips. A torrential storm, followed by expressions that clearly indicated exactly how unhappy she was with Huang. Pointing at him, gesturing... "They told us to go together, I was looking everywhere for you. Then I was told, by none other than Ren, that you called me an idiot and simply left for the meetup on your own. Excuse me sir, exactly who do you think you are?! You're a big old jerk, an absolute jerk, and I do not accept the way you've been treating me. I demand an apology, RIGHT NOW." Impatiently, Jin crossed her arms, tapping her foot against the pavement underneath, looking absolutely emotionally devastated by his poor behavior towards her. This little charade didn't last long however, as her eyes soon fell upon Eli and Jun. Blinking a couple of times, whether Huang had anything to say in his defense or not, Jin would stroll across the little hall.In what could only be considered beginner level Japanese, Jin attempted to communicate a greeting. Brimming with confidence, the security with which she spoke her words, only made the broken Japanese all the more fun to listen to. "Hello! Socks are Jin." Gesturing towards herself, she seemed overly proud of her flawless greeting. Energetic and straight forward, the indication that she had just been out running had vanished. Perhaps Jin had some kind of battery inside her chest that just kept going...? Then, immediately the confidence and happiness shattered, leaving behind only a grimace of utmost disdain for the partner she had been put together with. Huang was always the same. Boring, lazy, looking like he couldn't care less for anything in the world. In fact, Jin wasn't sure he cared. It was why it frustrated her so to be put on team with him. Where was the team spirit?! -- Not that the Chinese school was known for having any kind of team spirit... Bunch of frigging edgelords. In some ways, Jin was a little envious of the more openminded Yuuei. That, however, would not deter her from crushing them into the ground and proving exactly which nation was the better one! "He Huang. He are an potato. Please beat him face hard." With the greeting out of the way, Jin reluctantly returned to her own side of the fence, standing besides Huang. Arms still crossed, the teenage girl refused to look at him...As for her getup, Jin was wearing a traditional green Chinese outfit. It looked a lot like what one could find in the different dojos. The girl's red hair was hanging loosely to her shoulders. The pants were slightly baggy, yet tied tightly into her shoes. It was clear that there was something hidden underneath her outfit - possibly something to assist her with using her quirk. Now, where was the damn sensei with the instructions on how this would work?!.. They had spent long enough on greetings already!

Though Jun was quite satisfied that someone she knew was her partner, his long speech about how is Quirk functioned threatened to put her to sleep. The keywords stood out to her, and she made mental notes on them all. It was the way she studied in class, and it seemed to have worked so far,"Diamonds, got it. No need for that winded explanation, Eli. Sheeeesh~" Nudging his arm jokingly with a slight grin tugging at her lips, the crystalline girl thought it wise to mention her own,"I can make sugar." Short and sweet, just like Jun. Well, she was about average height. But that was neither here nor there.
Keeping her eyes to the floor and a her lips pursed around the straw of her slushie as she thought to herself, the bespectacled girl hardly noticed the entrance of their opponents. The two of them could make crystals, but what good would it do? No flashy combo attacks meant no exciting screen time for the viewer, and Jun had come into the competition looking to impress the ladies watching all around the world. Well, there was also that bit about making her mom proud, but the half of her that her dad had part in creating said otherwise. Girls first, heroism later.
It wasn't until the bouncing red-head burst into the room throwing out what she could only assume was Chinese that her train of thought was derailed. It's destination? A one way ticket to cloud nine. She looked rather plain, but that just meant she was a blank canvas. If the girl was this beautiful now, Jun could only blush at how she'd look at their date she was already planning for in her head. The girl approached, calling herself Jin in broken- or moreso shattered- Japanese,"Ni hao~!" Jun had learned nearly every way to greet someone in another language. It was in case she found a cute foreign girl, which seemed to be the case right now. Considering herself lucky that she'd decided to learn such a silly bit of knowledge, the blackette would bow to her opponent respectfully. It was there when she noticed the other boy that had joined them in the hallway, looking rather mute in comparison to the bubbly girl in front of them. He looked scrawny, but Jun knew that she couldn't rule him out as weak so soon. There were plenty of surprises at U.A., and she had to stay prepared for each of them as they came.
"I'm Jun. He's Eli." Gesturing with her head towards her blonde friend, the crystalline girl would give one last smile to her before the red-head headed off to meetup with her own partner. And, though Jun had just finished a study session with a certain Irish beauty, the womanizer in Jun couldn't help but speak up to her best bud with a sleazy tone to her voice,"Damn, she's cute~" Her free hand would be pushed into her track jacket pocket as she leaned into the wall, slurping her drink rather loudly before continuing,"Too bad we're kickin' their asses, right?" God, it was taking a while for the four to be given their instructions. Jun would stand against the wall idly as she waited, taking the last couple of drinks of her slushie before placing it on the ground next to them. It was unfortunate that there was no garbage can nearby, but she assumed that it would be cleaned up eventually anyway.
Either way, she couldn't worry herself too much about trash at a time like this. There were a lot of people that were watching them, her parents included, and Jun knew that she couldn't let them down.
Or, at the least, embarrass herself on live television.

Eli looked at Jun as she nudged his arm, of all the people who could have been his partner, why did it have to be her! She was a great person but she was more of a slacker then he was at the beginning of the year! How could an explanation be too long? It made no sense! Still, at least she gave him some information. Her quirk was sugar, but what did that mean!? Did sugar come out from her hands? Did she just make it appear? Eli looked at his partner, "Okay it's sugar but like, how does it work? Do you just make sugar appear? Does eating sugar help? You gotta give me more than just sugar!" How was his partner more of a slacker then he used to be. He was gonna have to get Darren to light a fire under her ass too!
He looked as his partner drank a slushie, the nerve she had. She wouldn't even make a strategy with him? Eli's thought process was interrupted as he noticed two new arrivals to the hallway they were in. The first, a redhead who he was sure Jun was checking out. What was he gonna do with her? He was shocked his partner knew another language. Based on the new arrivals clothing being Chinese, Eli assumed it was some kind of Chinese greeting. Of course she knew enough Chinese to flirt with another girl. He sighed and greeted the girl that spoke extremely broken Japanese, "Sorry I don't know any Chinese like Jun here, but yea I'm Eli. Can't wait to compete against you and...whoever he is, let's do our best!." Eli pointed to the guy who had neglected to introduce himself. She then introduced the gloomy kid as Huang, to Eli he seemed like a jerk who needed an ass kicking or a superiority complex. However since Eli didn't know his life story he decided to not judge.
Once Jin walked over to her gloomy partner and was a good distance, Eli looked to his partner and was about to resume their earlier conversation until the girl spouted about how cute Jin was, and that the two of them would be kicking their asses...An irritated face appeared on his face as he answered her, "Yea we'll beat their asses...as long as someone isn't checking out their new crush. Don't make me tell Meara on you Jun! But seriously we need to come up with some type of strategy, any ideas? I can't make too much right now so combo moves aren't a great plan, but if we need to then I can. What can you actually do with it, like how do you use it, is there anything that affects it positively or negatively? Any environment that it works really good in? " The irritated face had changed into a smile as his irritation changed into a joke. He now waited on Jun to answer his questions, soon the obstacle course would start!

WORD COUNT; TAGGED: TAGGED: Fluffy As the two sides made their appropriate introductions, a short woman approached them all. Placing herself in their center, in such an unassuming way that she wouldn't have been surprised if none of them had noticed her, she cleared her throat to garner their attention. First, Ningyo spoke in a somewhat clean, somewhat broken Chinese, making sure their guests were accustomed to what would happen first. Afterwards, she would turn her attention to Jun and Eli. "..Greetings and welcome to Ground Beta. You've received the general rules, but I would like to clarify a few things." As Ningyo was speaking, an unassuming puppet waddled over. His movements seemed to become sharper and sharper the closer he came to Ningyo, and the more her focus on him increased. The puppet bowed before them, as if introducing himself. Naturally, with how many puppets she had created, there wasn't a single way in hell that Ningyo could make the puppet actually speak. "These are my puppets, and they are scattered across the city. They've been imbued with basic tasks, such as crossing the road. However, among the puppets, there are certain ones you should be aware of." Another puppet waddled over, this one dressed in an outfit that was easily spotted in a crowd. A police uniform. At his belt, he had a gun. No, not a real gun. A faux gun. "These are to be understood as the general security of the city out there. These will engage any villainous behavior, additionally informing the heroes of where the villains are currently located. They fire high-velocity paintballs. They'll hurt, sting, and leave colored marks. Naturally, the more you as a villain get shot, the more points you'll lose.
The law-enforcement is the only thing you should reliably engage directly, without utilizing the levers. In this exercise, the puppets are not to be your focus. The other team is. Do your best to harass and capture." Ningyo lifted an arm and scratched her cheek, stretching ever so slightly. Keeping this many puppets active was a draining affair, even if she had the stamina to keep it going for quite an extended amount of time. "Other incidents with the populace may happen as well. Humans are unpredictable, so keep your eyes out. Now, in the four quadrants around us, there is one escape door in each quadrant. These will open after fifteen minutes, allowing the villains to escape." Looking between the two Chinese students, Ningyo then continued, explaining what kind of situation they were finding themselves in."The scenario is as following. Two villains have stolen from a jewelry store, utilizing excessive force. Two heroes were in the area, and are responding to the crime. Civillians are caught in the crossfire. Heroes are judged on their response time, their ability to prevent excessive destruction of material, plus their ability to apprehend the criminals.
The criminals are judged on their ability to outwit the heroes, to utilize their surroundings to create timesinks for the heroes, plus their ability to cause general public unrest." Once Ningyo was done explaining in Chinese, she'd turn to Jun and Eli, repeating the explanation in Japanese so that everyone was on the same page. Lastly, she pointed to her own students. Eli & Jun, flipping a coin into the air. One side was red with a joker-esque marking. The other seemed like a batman lookalike. Underneath each respective image was a small text. 'Villain - Hero.'"You two start as the hero team. Please pick a quadrant to start outside. Then we'll get the villains situated and prepared. Best of luck everyone, and have fun."

Hearing Eli scold her made the usually mischievous girl groan,"Good grief, dude, you're killin' me." She was never one for winded explanations, and she hated that she befriended such a stick in the mud,"I make sugar crystals. It's all reliant on my glucose levels. If I overuse it, I could potentially die but-" She shrugged, grinning,"Well, it hasn't happened yet." The crystalline girl was definitely one to joke about such grim topics. Even though she hid that she was, in fact, terrified of overusing her Quirk to the point of no return, Jun hid it well with a carefree smile and honeyed words. It was what her mom had showed her early on- to push your raw emotions deep within until you can't feel them anymore. Though incredibly mentally exhausting, the girl made it look easy and did so without a care for her mental state in the slightest. She did, after all, have a reputation to uphold.
Jun didn't think Eli could become more lame, but he crossed the line when he threatened to tell her most recent Irish fling about her attitude. Of course, she didn't take this well, and crossed her arms with a playful pout,"Hey, Meara has nothin' to do with my skills at kickin' ass!" How absurd! To even suggest that a girl that she'd only met once in person had any sort of say in her life! As Eli continued with his lecture, however, the ravenette couldn't help but think that he had a point. As much fun as it was teasing him, the blonde was seriously motivated to do his damndest to win. Jun was as well, of course, but it was just entertaining to see him squirm,"I mostly use it in hand-to-hand combat. I'm better up close than ranged, so we gotta stay in their face. But, here's my strategy- leave the kid to me. I can mow through him with my Quirk, trust me." She went into detail of her plan and fighting style just before another beautiful woman appeared before the two, demanding Jun's immediate attention. Though small, she seemed very mature for her short and rather childish stature. She was a woman though, and the womanizer couldn't help checking her out as she spoke. God, she really was a useless lesbian.
Ningyo flipped a coin after explaining the game, and asked the heroes of today's event which quadrant they preferred,"I say we go fourth quadrant, Eli. If they escape, at least we can gamble~" Jun would cackle to herself, her nose scrunching up rather cutely as she did it. Sighing laxly, the crystal girl would continue,"I'm jokin', of course. First sounds open, which might be better for us." She wasn't lying when she mentioned her fighting style, even through all of the joking she'd done previously. The space to fight with those giant gauntlets of hers would come in handy, and she didn't exactly feel like hitting civilians when she went for right hooks.

Eli looked at his partner for the obstacle course, how did she make it seem like death wasn't a big deal? His mind was full of anger at the girl next to him, but at least she gave him a semi-decent explanation. Still to act as if death wasn't a big issue...Eli couldn't even begin to understand it. Death was the end of all things for everyone, regardless of your past. Not even a quirk could prevent death. At best it might be able to prolong it, but there wasn't anything real that could make someone cheat death. Eli decided it was best to push the thoughts away since the exercise would require his full focus.
Eli ignored the comment about Meara, but listened intently to the girls strategy. They were both better at close ranged fighting huh? It would definitely be bad if their opponents were both ranged fighters. If nothing else, Jun had confidence. Hopefully her words would ring true and not be simple arrogance. "All right, I'll leave mister gloomy to you Jun. Don't think you not fighting the girl slipped past me though. You just keep your guy from escaping and I'll fight the girl. I'm also a lot better at close ranged fighting, I tend to use a sword and shield. However I can control my weapons up to around ten meters so if either of them end up using ranged combat, it would be best if I take them on I think." Finally they had the basis of a strategy at least. They didn't know the enemies quirks, but Eli would definitely do his best to beat them to a pulp!
Finally the teacher overseeing the obstacle course appeared. Ningyo was a woman of short stature. Eli noticed Jun looking at their teacher in the way she did almost every girl. He nudged her with his elbow as an attempt to get her to focus on more important things, like the rules of the exercise. Before she begun to explain, a puppet as Ningyo called them, walked over. Eli didn't give it much attention though, he was gonna have to pay attention enough for Jun and himself after all! Eli continued to listen through his teachers explanation of the rules.
First, she explained that the puppets with police uniforms would be acting as law enforcement in the exercise, obviously putting the hero team at an advantage. They could even cause the villains to lose points! This advantage was countered by the fact that after fifteen minutes the villain team could escape through one door in each of the four quadrants. She followed this with more information on the particular situation they would find themselves in to the two Chinese students in their language, once finished she would explain in Japanese for Jun and Eli.
The situation seemed rather...odd to Eli. He didn't generally feel like villains went for jewelry stores but he supposed it was possible. Then again, he didn't look at the news much so maybe it was a common occurrence. As Ningyo flipped the coin in the air, Eli could feel his heart stop, this would decide whether they were hero or villain in the scenario. Why couldn't it be something he could control! Like picking straws or something! Either way he wouldn't have known the outcome, so it really didn't matter.
Just like that, his teacher announced that they were the hero team! Eli wasn't sure which he really wanted, both had their advantages, but at least he would be doing what he planned in the future! Ningyo asked them which quadrant the hero team would start in, and Jun answered almost immediately. She joked about going to the fourth quadrant to gamble at first, but then said her actual decision. The first quadrant would make it easier to fight. There would be less buildings in the way, making it easier to see if the enemy was there. Plus there was a significantly less number of civilians there that could get hurt, even if they were puppets. Less buildings also meant less obstacles in their path. Eli was shocked, it almost seemed as if Jun actually thought this through! He looked at his partner with a grin, "First quadrant sounds good to me, let's give Ningyo a great show!" He joked, this was gonna be a blast!

Huan gave each and every one of them a disgusted look of disdain. They were all charlatans and fools. They were stupid and ignorant to boot. He walked away, not really pissed bust more so detached from everything they stood for. Why did they care so much? This whole competition meant nothing to Huan. It was what he was told to do, compete and he gets rewarded if he succeeds he would be rewarded further. If that hadn't been the case he wouldn't have even cared enough to get out of bed today.
Since the first quadrant was where the needed to go he left on his own. He didn't want Jin holding him back or chatting with him in any way. 'If those fools think open surrounding will help them they are going to be sore losers.' He muttered to himself. He was fast, insanely fast, and leaving him to just run was a bad idea. If they had wanted to win they should have picked something with tighter quarters and less space to let his engine run.
'I'm not going to play some stupid game.' He thought to himself. There really wasn't much point to it. As he made his way to the destination he turned back to shout out to Jin. "You deal with the whole robbery business." He was going to do what he did best. Run. His plan was to let Jin initiate everything and just take off running as fast as he could for an exit. If he stumbled on one of the levers he would pull it, but only if it was directly in his path.

WORD COUNT; TAGGED: TAGGED: Fluffy Jin was absolutely livid. Not only had Huan been ignoring her approach to the area, not going together with her, now he was also blatantly avoiding apologizing. What kind of selfish butthead of a beaver was he?! They were supposed to be a team. A damned team. How could one be a team, when the other one so openly refused cooperating?! Jin picked up a small rock, nothing that would hurt, just something that'd be annoying. Lobbing it directly at Huan's backhead, she puffed up her cheeks and closed her hands into small fists. "See if I care! Run off on your own, I hope you get captured immediately you beaver baboon butthead!" So, since her teammate was headed out alone, Jin too headed out alone, not caring about Huan's comments or his desires for what she was supposed to do. No, if he was going to behave like that, he could deal with this whole test himself! Honestly, as Jin trecked through the rural area, the girl was quite fortunate that she was on the villain team. It was an excellent chance to cut loose and take out some of her frustrations by destroying shit. At their own academy, they were never allowed to go overboard. Thus, this was somewhat of an exception. An exception that Jin was going to absolutely enjoy to the fullest of her ability!Barging straight into a shop with a disaster lever, Jin pulled the lever, starting an alarm that the heroes could react to. It was a small convenience store. The place you'd go to get milk, cigarettes, bread and basic meal products. It wasn't a large store, just something to get you by the day. Grabbing one of the puppets around the throat, Jin held two fingers to it's head, walking outside. The girl had taken a puppet hostage!... ...Honestly, Jin wasn't quite sure this was a great idea, but she had seen some villains get away with it in her favorite movies. Thus, she was going to try her luck as well. Shouting out loudly, she was truly living in a different world. "If all y'all move, I'll bust this... ...is it a man? I'm not sure... what gender's do puppets have...?... Am I being insensitive...?
EITHER WAY, I will bust it's head open!" And such their feud began. Would the two wannabe heroes be capable of seizing this opportunity, with the villains being spread out, to capitalize on the dysfunctional teamwork between Huan and Jin?...

Their two opponents were already off in separate directions by the time the doors opened for them. Which was... definitely odd considering they were on the same team. Either they had about as much team synergy as her own team or they were trying to pull a fast one on them. Pulling a cherry lollipop from the pocket of her gym pants, Jun would motion towards Huang,"I don't know what he's up to, but I don't like it." It was a much more serious side to the sugar addict that came out to play, even with the childish habit of carrying candy around with her being thrust into her mouth. She'd stare down the figures that ran off, formulating a plan while she tongued at the hardened candy,"As you said, Mister. Gloomy is mine~"
There was no particular reason for Jun picking the girl over the boy. Even with beautiful women on her mind as much as they would be with any average high schooler, it didn't cloud her decision. As it was, Eli seemed the fighting type. As the boy ran in the complete opposite direction of his partner- incredibly quickly, at that- it seemed he wanted to play a game of cat and mouse. Which, to Jun's delight, was her favorite kind of game. Especially when it came to fighting frail mice like him.
With that, Jun would take off towards the first quadrant. It was just as Ningyo described- a rural part of Tokyo with a much more open feel than that of what could've been any of the other ones. Unfortunately, it seemed that Eli had gotten the easier end of the deal. Though it was open and easy to move around in, it meant their opponents could do the same. With how fast Huang moved towards the quadrant, Jun could only assume it had to do with his Quirk.
Letting the opponent know so early into their game what their Quirk could do was a dangerous tactic, one that would only have consequences if the sugar addict could get a hold of the scrawny boy. So, to save time, Jun took the scenic route. She was sure that he was either trying to make a fool out of her, find a lever, or look for an escape. Wanting to keep her stamina high for the rest of what she thought would be a long battle was key, and she'd slow to a quick jog once the alarm for the disaster lever went off.
Surely Huang wouldn't leave his partner completely defenseless... right? Even though they were partners and classmates, the boy seemed to have left her for dead.
Though she sprung her plan into action, Jun wasn't like the cowardly teenager she was chasing. Worrying for Eli wasn't something she planned on doing, but she hung near where the alarm went of subconsciously. Maybe the mouse she was chasing would come by the alley she was hiding in! Or, even better and lesser known to the sugar addict, maybe her best friend would need some much needed sugar crystals.

It was clear to Eli that his opponents didn't know the slightest thing about teamwork, or at least Huang didn't. Jin and her partner went separate directions, which meant Eli and Jun would be splitting up as well, "Yea I don't like what either of them are doing, and if you need help just...I don't know figure out a way to tell me okay?" Despite how much Eli and Jun joked, the rag tag duo did indeed care for each other, even if it was deep in their subconsciousness.
By the time the doors opened for the heroes in training, they're two opponents were long gone. From what little Eli had seen of Huan before he left, he seemed to be a faster fighter. Based on the tournament, Eli believed Jun to be better than him in that regard, which was good. At least they had chosen opponents that suited them...in Juns case that is. Eli wasn't sure what to make of Jin yet, clearly she was the more qualified of the two in mentality since Huan just seemed like the guy who thought he could do everything alone. Regardless of his mentality though, he probably had a quirk to give him the perspective he had. Eli wondered if the ever snarky Jun would be alright. Finally choosing to stop thinking, and act instead Eli gave Jun a warm genuine smile before leaving, "We got this best bud."
Ningyo's description of the first quadrant was fairly accurate, it was very open, which gave them space for the inevitable violence that would occur. He could see how Ningyo came to the conclusion that it was like a rural area of Tokyo. The openness also gave their opponents an advantage though, which caused Eli to be much more cautious than usual. He wondered around for a while, up until he heard an alarm, signaling that a robbery lever was pulled! Not sure if it was Jin or Huan, Eli hesitated going to the location. However, once he remembered his opponents words that explained what each would do, Eli knew it was Jin for sure! With the alarm though, her partner could come running. He hoped Jun would be nearby to come to his aid if needed.
The moment he found Jin, she took a hostage. Eli instantly brought his hands up in submission, but he didn't plan to submit. He allowed her to feel safe and walk outside before he struck. Creating a small, blunted diamond the shape of a snow cone behind the girl, Eli launched it towards the puppet in an attempt to free him from the villains hands. He made sure to use the circular end so there was no injury as well. Knowing that the girl would then be aware of his plans whether it succeeded or failed, Eli also made a sword to be prepared for combat. Usually it would be accompanied by a shield, but the girl didn't seem to want a close up fight so he figured she didn't have much experience with it! Therefore, he decided he could deal without it for the time being. He waited for the girl to make her move.
