WORD COUNT; TAGGED: TAGGED: Fluffy Puppets were now idly walking the streets of the little makeshift town. Their movements baggy and strange, clearly not humanoid. It was, however, the best that they could offer on such a short notice. Everything had been prepared for the upcoming event. Ground Beta had successfully been established. Ground Beta was an enormous 1 by 1 kilometer large square with four entrances/exits. Within this square, a faux city had been created, modelled on popular locations from Tokyo, Musutafu and Osaka primarily. The faux city had four major areas, which sported slightly different building layouts. One area had primarily the rural influence. Houses were slightly larger at the base floor, more traditional in nature, with more spacing and open areas around each building. The buildings also weren't terribly tall, primarily one to three storied. The secondary area was a generic housing area you could find in the middle of the city. Several taller buildings, upwards of twelve stories, lay placed here. The housing was primarily rentable appartments. At the street level, ther were also a series of convenience stores and other shopping needs. The third area was an industrial area, filled with larger than average buildings, pipes and such things. Smoke seemed to rise from many of the silos. The main traffic here seemed to be large trucks. Finally, there was the entertainment area. Clubs, cafés, casinos, bars, bowling alley, laser-tag. Practically everything you'd desire when having a fantastic night out.
Populating these areas, were practically what one could expect. There was traffic, driving casually around the city. Taxis, trucks, pickups. It was clear that these fauxes weren't actual cars, as much as mash of paper on rails, but it looked reasonable enough. There were individuals walking the streets, exchanging good by stands and otherwise trying to appear like normal city-life. Granted, since they were puppets created by a quirk, they were very limited in function, but at least the city felt somewhat populated. It was within this little faux city, that the obstacle part of the competition would take place. Ningyo, being ever impartial, would ensure that neither teams gained an unfair advantage...
Scattered across the city as well, were strangely marked levers, positioned mainly by areas that seemed particularly trafficed. These levers took some time to activate, giving off an indication to the hero team of exactly where the lever was being activated from. Once activated the levers would be generating some kind of disaster. For instance, the lights could all switch to green, causing a massive pileup in the middle of the road. Scaffolding could begin falling down, severely hurting everyone caught underneath. In short, disasters on demand. Disaster levers. The competition would be fairly simple. One team would be pretend-heroes. The other team would be pretend-villains. The hero team would start with two-hundred points. If a villain managed to entirely escape the exercise, the heroes would lose fifty. In addition, each civillian hurt by the activation of a disaster lever, would deduct another five points. Once enough time had passed, or all the points had been deducted, the exercise would then swap the teams, meaning the hero team would become villains and vice versa.
In essence, heroes were meant to capture the villains while securing and ensuring the safety of civillians. The villains were meant to cause as much disaster as possible, while avoiding being caught. To catch a villain, all the hero team would have to do, was touch the villain and apply a captured mark onto their clothes. As such, standing your ground to fight as the villain may not be the smartest solution. From there, it was a judgement call. Would you prioritize escaping..? Would you feel more confident in causing some disasters, sealing away some of your opponent's points that way?... There were many ways to approach this, and it had Ningyo somewhat excited to see what the students may choose. Licking her lips joyously, she awaited the arrival of those that would go first.

Yumi didn’t know what she’d been expecting from the obstacle course event but what they ended up being presented with certainly wasn’t what she had in mind. What was described to them, while it seemed to be some contest between their school and the other’s involved, it read more like something for the rescue events than the obstacle course. Like…okay on one hand you had to escape the area, but Yumi was expecting some sort of race or some direct…well obstacles. This really just sounded like some weird class test more than it did an event but…ah well. Ho hum. It was what it was and she needed to make sure she was prepared for it. She’d been putting a lot of effort into training for both this and the tournament, and as such she was oddly disappointed that it wasn’t what she’d been training for but…it had to be something she supposed, and she didn’t exactly know who to talk to about feeling she’d signed up for the wrong event. She just…wasn’t equipped for rescuing civilians, what with…being coated in electricity, so it annoyed her that she had to do that as part of the course…hopefully people watching wouldn’t deduct her points for touching the dummies. Really the most she gave people when she wasn’t purposely trying to hurt them was just a light tingle wherever there was contact, but it definitely wasn’t something she wanted any part of. At the time of the obstacle course arrived, Yumi made sure to equip herself with her power suit as normal, wearing it under her school tracksuit as she made her way to the place of the event. She watched everyone being split up into teams with some light disappointment. She’d been kinda eager to see what she could do against the classmates she knew rather than working with them against other schools…like okay. Fair enough, it did the job of making sure they worked well together, and she could never really be against teamwork but…nnngh. Something just wasn’t sitting right with her. Maybe Darren’s competitiveness had worked its way into her own system from how long they’d been training together. Yeah. That sounded like a nice excuse…plus kinda annoyed her she’d done all this training for what was basically a game of tag. No no, no being negative. You were like that for months after Semper Fi. Get your head back in the game Yumi. Just wait to figure out who your working with and then hope you work together well… Turns out, she already had some experience working alongside her assigned teammate, a little surprised in fact and wondering if they had been assigned to eachother specifically because of their past experience. Odds were it was just a lucky draw, but Yumi was already feeling just a fraction better. Rolling her shoulders back with a stronger smile on her face, she’d say goodbye to anyone else who’d been waiting for their assigned partners and head off to meet Elise in the waiting area of their own event. Thinking back to her training, Yumi wondered for a moment how well it’d all play into this. She’d trained her speed with Darren for starters. After learning a trick with positive and negative charges to give herself bursts of straight-line darting speeds, she’d trained with him to make sure she was not only fast, but agile. Taking notes out of his book she never moved too far in a single straight line. Now she zipped and she zagged , making sure she didn’t even stick to one vector for too long. Not only did it make her a harder target to hit, but she became even more flashy which, as a hero, was oddly beneficial. Plus she tended to notice when she stuck to a single vector for such a far distance she tended to overshoot and slam into things, something Darren had no trouble pointing out repeatedly to her during her training. Kirk had been great. Teaching her how to keep herself moving fast and effectively during the times she couldn’t use her quirk, which were admittedly minimal, but ya never knew. She’d been very worried that the course would take into account quirkers who could fly like her so she’d made sure she’d be good on her feat too, and while that wasn’t gonna be so useful here she at least felt like it had taught her a lot about stamina control. She’d have to remember to thank Kirk. Maybe make him lunch one day or something. That sounded kinda cute. Finally was all the training she’d done on her own, and for that all she had to think about was the changes her classmates noticed in her, again mainly Darren but it had been nice that her training was showing enough he could notice it without her bringing it up…yeah. She was good, and she had a strong teammate, she just had to put the effort in here and she was sure the two of them would pull through with this and put a good mark on their school for the festival. Rubbing her hands together, her tracksuit discarded of in any break or locker room leading up to the main event, Yumi spotted Elise and skipped up to her, her hands lightly charged with static so careful not to touch her before letting out a small pulse between her fingertips to get rid of it, grinning wide and offering a high five. “Elise! Nice to see ya! So, what ya thinking?” She folded her arms, definitely eager to hear what her team mate was thinking. “My money’s on us going her first, but I think it’d be best if we were assigned villains? I mean we’ll learn what all the traps do, where all the civilians are, heck we’ll even be able to take a good note of the escape routes. Still though-“ She paused and smiled, looking the other heroine up and down before chuckling. “Definitely glad I got paired with you whatever happens. I’m sure we’ll do great even if we wing it!~” Yumi power as of starting C quirk D Dart motion D Flight E Stamina F repulsion

Finally, it had begun, the grand event that was commonly referred to as the 'Obstacle Course'. Of course, most students had been rather eagerly anticipating the event, the opportunity to showcase their talents to the world, it was their chance to make a great first impression, and Elise wanted to make sure that she would set right the opinion that had been formed during Semper Fi. She had to do this, succeed in an excellent manner so that she wouldn't bring any discomfort to Tetsuko, in the end her own results would likely be a part of the things her lover's family would be judging, of course much lesser than the usual deal, but for the time being she wanted to also perform well for herself. Impression her mother and the principal seemed like a fun thing to do, and so she had prepared diligently for this event. The first surprise came in the form of the statement that they would be working in pairs, that by itself wasn't that unusual, in the end, a four-legged race did exist among the various school activities, but clearly U.A wouldn't be U.A if they decided on such a simplistic exercise. Still, it was fascinating to discover that Yumi had been chosen as her 'partner' for this exercise, a choice that Elise considered fortunate. Not only was Yumi a pleasant person to interact with, she was also one of the faster students of the school, and all things considered the burgundy-haired lass had to admit she felt her chances for succeeding in this exercise were growing with this decision. However, the exercise itself had been a curious thing to say the least. As they were gathered at one of the waiting rooms for the event one of the instructors explained the regulations. If Elise had to be honest, it sounded like a fancy game of cop and robbers, but to consider this a 'game' would be silly, it was a contest. It seemed that the primary focus of this exercise would be found in preventing disasters while also capturing the opposing team if possible. Simply said, it would be a challenge to figure out what to prioritize. If one considered the fact that there would be points deducted for each civilian that got injured, one could easily assume that a disaster going off would be a much graver consequence than letting the villains escape might had been. Of course, there was no way of knowing what type of disaster to expect until it happened, so naturally, it seemed the best way to prevent a disaster was to ensure the levers couldn't go off. Prevent, rather than recover so to speak. A brief smile lingered on Elise's lips at Yumi's energetic greeting, returning it in the same manner by gently raising her hand and giving her a high-five while Elise raised a hand to her chin and mused softly. "I'm not certain, while you are correct that the villains in the first round will hold an advantage due to the awareness of what disasters to expect, I think there is more to this than meets the eye."A momentary pause followed before she resumed speaking, her lips still curved up slightly. "It's a clever way for them to see what we'll prioritize and how we handle the consequences. For example, whether we prioritize a quick capture, but risk letting a disaster happen which could possibly penalize us worse than an escaped villain might."A hand raised toward her chin as she mused for a moment, seemingly thinking for a bit. "Although, it is interesting that they paired us together. We're both pretty agile and mobile, also you're one of the few who can keep up with Darren and me, so all things considered we did get the luck of the draw."A soft chuckle escaped her lips while she shook her head gently. "But let us not get overconfident Yumi~ We'll have to keep in mind that our opponents will be the 'elite' from other schools, the best of the best. We're going to have to push ourselves to our limits if we want to succeed in this trial."Stretching her arms gently into the air the burgundy-haired lass hummed softly. "Of course, we'd best make sure to have a lot of fun also, being able to have fun makes it a lot easier to give it your utmost~ And with Private Fanservice around I think it be easy to find some fun~" A playful wink followed as she turned toward the door of the waiting room. "It's unfortunate we don't know much, or anything at all about our opponents. We also don't know yet for sure what role we'll be starting as, although let's hope our luck will be infectious and get us to start as villains, right?"A step forwards was being made as she paused and found herself getting somewhat excited. This was it, the opportunity to show the results of her training. She had prepared as much as she possibly could for this event, trained intensely during her free time, and now all that was left to do was make sure that she would leave a result that she could be proud of. Turning back toward Yumi she couldn't help but inquire. "Nervous?" It might had been a surprising question, but she soon clarified further. "I know that I am~ As nervous as I'm excited, but I got the feeling things will be alright if it's the two of us working together."Extending a hand toward Yumi she smiled softly and added with a smile. "Ready Player One?" Of course she couldn't help but try to lighten the mood a little, a friendly gesture to hopefully lift both their spirits to the utmost and with a bit of luck their improved morale would help them in the upcoming conflict! Amanda was unsure as to why she'd been talked into this. Travelling to Japan had always been a dream of hers, but participating in a wildly publicised event, where TV crews and cameras and terribly loud people weren't just aplenty, but abustle! She'd spent her entire time doing what she'd promised not to do: curled in her hotel bed, reading a romance novel. The heroine had just finished saving the fragile prince from an evil king when she realised that it was 7am. Ah. Ah. With the quietest scream you could fathom, she bounded from the pillow fortress, dressed, undressed, showered, redressed and sprinted from the room.
When she'd arrived at U.A's Ground Beta, she was ten minutes late and exhausted. Her heart throbbing, Amanda keeled over in the locker room to pity herself some. She really was pathetic. Everything in her told her to call in sick. As if the Obstacle Course she'd signed up for was just another class. But, to her own surprise, her body soldiered on. Quelled the nerves with the voice of a lovely boy she met back home, who wished her good luck. It was tiny. Almost insignificant. But it pushed her on. Shoving away the nerves, she readied herself for combat. Amanda's quirk wasn't the best in a fight, but she refused to be useless. With a resolute nod of her head, she left the locker room to meet with her teammate: Manuel Alfonsi, one of the strongest students of Alder. She'd heard that Manuel was participating in not only this Obstacle Course but also the main fighting tournament. He was... Scary. Amanda didn't like him too much - his overbearing and cocky attitude made him a suffocating person to be around. Add that to Amanda's plethora of reasons why speaking to people you only semi-know should be made illegal in all parts of Europe and you end up with a poorly balanced cocktail.
Hurrying, Amanda dragged her feet to the meeting room. Hopefully, she'd catch up with Manuel before the start of the event... When she opened the door, however, she was met by two girls. Girls speaking mystifying Japanese. Ah. Ah. These were her opponents!! Amanda froze, stood like a pale-faced deer in the headlights of the two bright girls before her. Mon dieu! What was she to do?! Her instincts said to run away. Her logic said to apologise and ask for directions. Instead, her anxiety took over and she bumbled a barely audible, barely Japanese string of words. And like that she was gone. Dashing down the hallway, embarrassed out of her mind. So caught up in her flustered miasma that she didn't see Manuel stood like a brick wall before the entrance to the Ground Beta open ground... and ran right into his back with all the force a short, scrawny girl could muster.

WORD COUNT; TAGGED: TAGGED: Fluffy "HEY, LOSERS! EVEN IF YA'RE CHICKS, WE'RE GONNA BASH YER FOOKIN HEADS IN!"And with that message, Manuel had arrived. His apperance very much matched his attitude. Tightly braided hair that ended up in dreadlocks at his neck. Wide, open eyes that almost reminded one of snake eyes. Sharp, staring pupils that almost pierced through skin by themselves. Walking onto the course brimming with confidence, he finally revealed his bulky body. Broad over the shoulders, enough to be a bouncer at even the most rigorous night clubs. Tall, he towered over his teammate like some kind of demon. The grin on his face, twisted and warped, as if he could not wait to inflict pain onto them. His ears had two gang-like piercings, denoting where he came from. Manuel was one of those students, that really did not belong in a hero course, yet accurately and precisely stayed just inside the current set of rules, to avoid being expelled. As he stood besides Amanda, he smacked her friendly just between her shoulders, likely knocking some of the air from her lungs. Staring at her, he grinned terribly. "Ya better not make me look bad out there, Amanda, Eh? Wouldn't want me ta leave ya behind, now would we?" Manuel was focussed on power and strength, more so than teamwork, that much was certain. In fact, he wasn't sure Amanda could provide him anything. Always the silent, meager, doing nothing and looking distressed kind of female. Far from his type, but if she wanted to hanky-panky, she wasn't the ugliest trash at their school. Shrugging, his stare returned to his two opponents. Cracking his neck, he crossed his arms. "Well, what're ya two twats waiting for? Introduce ya bloody selves. I like to know who I've pummeled into tha ground." It was at this point his brute brain seemed to realize, that shouting at them to introduce themselves, without haivng introduced himself, was likely a bit hypocritical. Not that such notions phased him. It was more, they deserved to know who the handsome, awesome, best of all boys that would become the most known hero in the world was. "Name's Manuel Alfonsi - Hero name, Wonder Man... and if ya two ladies prefer heading upstairs to fightin', I can show ya some bed magic too." Flexing ever so slightly, there could be no doubt. Every single word he said was meant, to it's fullest extent. Both the horrible attempts at flirting, plus the harsh insults... but with a body like his, and skills like his, one didn't need to be delicate.Girls came crawling either way.

Yumi was glad to see Elise on her side. She didn’t have any hard facts about who were the fastest or most agile in their classes but from their time together in capture the flag she knew that the girl could definitely hold her own in such a situation, so things were looking hopeful even from the get go like this. Her words about not being sure about which starting team had the advantage was totally fair, and Yumi gave only a firm nod in response. Either going first could have it’s own unique advantages, but importantly they just needed to make sure whatever happened, they came out on top and did the best to represent their school.
“Yeah I totally get that. Still seems to emphasize more hero work than the simple title of obstacle course had be expecting…Almost feel like some of the training I tried to focus on won’t exactly pay off here, but time will tell I suppose right?” She offered a warm smile, hoping the two of them would make a good time of this even if it hadn’t been what the red head was expecting initially. “It’s a good test though, definitely suits those parameters.”
She nodded along with the comment about them both being pretty agile. Admittadly her more agile features were recent developments for Yumi, but she felt it was reasonable the school would have takent he most recent changes into account when creating pairs. “Maybe they did it on purpose? Want the school to have the best pairs possible so it shines above the other schools?”~
With the comment not to get over-confident, she gave a warm nod and made sure that they were both on the same page there. “Absolutely.” She answered firmly enough, pumping one of her fists infront of herself, showing some of the competitive pride she’d adopted from her experiences with Jaz and Darren. “Can’t get too confident, but can’t beat ourselves up before we’ve begun either! If they’re the elites from their schools, we’ve gotta be among the elites in ours to go up against them, don’t ya think?”
“Oh yeah totally!” She followed on the idea of having fun, Yumi crossing her arms over her chest before cracking out her fingers interlocked and stretched out infront of herself, a few sparks emitted into the air around her as she started to get her quirk nice and warmed up for what they were potentially about to face. She chuckled along with the private fanservice nickname, shaking her head, recalling one of the few positive things to come from Semper Fi. That damn nickname. “We’ll pick it up as we go along I’m sure. Maybe the announcers will accidentally give us some hints too. Who knows right? Here’s hoping on the luck front though for sure.”
She shook out her limbs a little as they were waiting for the other school to arrive, and gave a quiet nod to the question. “Yeah…just a little. But the good kinda ya know? Exactly like what you’re sayin’…nervous but excited.~” She beamed brightly for a moment in the direction of her partner, but before she could answer them in regards to being ready, it seemed the other school had finally arrived. Yumi’s eyes widened for a moment, taking in the rather nervous looking…girl? Boy? Hard to tell really but she’d try to take in what little they said with some difficulty before they suddenly scurried off and bumped into their team mate. Well that was one way to introduce yourself she supposed, but she wouldn’t hark on it. Poor girl looked absolutely terrified or something so Yumi wasn’t about to make it any worse.
Then…the teammate introduced themselves. Okay. Being awkward and nervous was one thing, THIS was something else. Yumi just stood there as a wall of verbal garbage and overconfidence hit her like a hefty wave against a sand bank. She opened her mouth halfway through to try and say something but more and more just came out, and at the ‘offer’ to share a bed with them Yumi lurched forward with a sputtering snicker, trying not to be too rude and curling her lips back to stop herself, keeling over and holding her knees for a moment as she just took a few breaths through her nose to calm down.
With some time before the announcer would be taking them forward it seemed, Yumi took her breaths and stood back up with a relaxing sigh. “Look honey I don’t think you’ll get far with my friend here. She has a girlfriend.” She stepped forward with some confidence and offered her hand out for a firm handshake, making sure to discharge the static energy on her skin into the air before they shook so she didn’t end up giving him a nasty jolt. “My name’s Yumi, but for the event I guess it’s best you call me curved lightning…~”
Still offering her hand out, a little bit more confidence washed over her for a moment, her eyelids lowering to a faintly more sensual gaze, cocking her hips to one side, emphasizing her curves more than her skin tight hero suit already did, her lips curling into a sly smile as she teased the loud mouthed boy a little. “Though if you’ve really got some bite behind your bark, I mightn’t mind takin’ you up on that more…personal offer, after the event.~ Always good to make ‘friends’ with the other schools don’tcha thing?~”
She was mostly teasing, but with Yumi, even she couldn’t tell if it was 100 percent a joke. Really he didn’t look too bad, he was loudmouthed sure, but she at least hoped he was the kind who was loud mouthed like that because he had the experience to back it up and…ya know. He was probably only in Japan for a few days, maybe a couple weeks tops, so why not take advantage of the potentially new experience, giggling a little to herself as she waited for her hand to be shook.

Amanda felt Manuel’s hand shock her spine something fierce when he slapped her back. She let out a pitiful yelp, stumbling forward a bit. The pinkette rubbed her poor back and shrank to the size of a pea when her ‘teammate’ reminded her to not be the useless trash she usually was. Her heart raced – she didn’t want to be here anymore, volume 2. Trembling slightly, Amanda held her arm, keeping herself small as Manuel went to shout his introduction to their opponents. Only one spoke up; she assumed because Manuel immediately went to insisting they should… um… Amanda’s cheeks reddened with the shame of what she was hearing, looking away. The redhead of the two U.A students met Manuel in his introduction, offering a hand and even agreeing with Manuel?! What on Earth? Amanda was shocked, but didn’t want to be rude, so spoke up when it was her turn to.
“M-M-M-M-M-M-M-My name i-is Amanda…” she half-whispered in her fluent-level but shaky Japanese. Though back on the plane and in her hotel room she’d planned to say much more, she couldn’t really bring herself to do it. Her anxiety was bad in general, but today it was so much worse for some reason. Not that there’d be much time for a whole introduction, as a voice came ringing through the loudspeakers. The Japanese was hard to understand, but it asked for the competitors to arrive at Ground Beta to begin the course. Amanda didn’t need to be told twice to vacate this room. The smoothness of her hastened steps made her out to be skating across the floor. The hand-me-down jacket she wore was too big on her, but its warmth was a comfort. She was the first to break out into the light of day and, when told to, the first to stride to where the teacher calling all the shots kept herself, waiting patiently for their assignment and trying, sososo very hard, not to think of all the eyes currently watching her.

WORD COUNT; TAGGED: TAGGED: Fluffy "Ya're an interesting one, Spiffy." Manuel's face practically contorted into a grin. A less unpleasant grin than what he had shown before. In fact, he seemed far more fired up and interested, after hearing the response that he got from Yumi. There was a little something funny going on there. A girl with enough confidence to stand in his way without buckling over. Throwing Amanda a quick glare, how he wish there were more like that redheaded firecake at his own school. Something he could lament for later. Perhaps, he could even convince the redhead to come along for the ride. Winding up his shoulder with a couple of swings, he chuckled. The pain in his bite had been replaced with a more combative and engaged tone. Now there was something proper to fight for. "I'll be seeing ya out there, Spiffy. Try to keep ya pretty face intact for me." Winking to Yumi, Manuel turned to grab Amanda by her collar, dragging her off to the side as the Japanese sensei, Ningyo, arrived on scene to speak some words. As the two sides made their appropriate introductions, a short woman approached them all. Placing herself in their center, in such an unassuming way that she wouldn't have been surprised if none of them had noticed her, she cleared her throat to garner their attention. First, Ningyo spoke in a elegant english, making sure their guests were accustomed to what would happen first. If they were having trouble understanding in English, Ningyo was also willing to explain in any of the scandinavian languages, or alternatively German. Afterwards, she would turn her attention to Yumi and Elise. "..Greetings and welcome to Ground Beta. You've received the general rules, but I would like to clarify a few things." As Ningyo was speaking, an unassuming puppet waddled over. His movements seemed to become sharper and sharper the closer he came to Ningyo, and the more her focus on him increased. The puppet bowed before them, as if introducing himself. Naturally, with how many puppets she had created, there wasn't a single way in hell that Ningyo could make the puppet actually speak. "These are my puppets, and they are scattered across the city. They've been imbued with basic tasks, such as crossing the road. However, among the puppets, there are certain ones you should be aware of." Another puppet waddled over, this one dressed in an outfit that was easily spotted in a crowd. A police uniform. At his belt, he had a gun. No, not a real gun. A faux gun. "These are to be understood as the general security of the city out there. These will engage any villainous behavior, additionally informing the heroes of where the villains are currently located. They fire high-velocity paintballs. They'll hurt, sting, and leave colored marks. Naturally, the more you as a villain get shot, the more points you'll lose.
The law-enforcement is the only thing you should reliably engage directly, without utilizing the levers. In this exercise, the puppets are not to be your focus. The other team is. Do your best to harass and capture." Ningyo lifted an arm and scratched her cheek, stretching ever so slightly. Keeping this many puppets active was a draining affair, even if she had the stamina to keep it going for quite an extended amount of time. "Other incidents with the populace may happen as well. Humans are unpredictable, so keep your eyes out. Now, in the four quadrants around us, there is one escape door in each quadrant. These will open after fifteen minutes, allowing the villains to escape." Looking between the two foreign students, Ningyo then continued, explaining what kind of situation they were finding themselves in. "The scenario is as following. Two villains have stolen from a jewelry store, utilizing excessive force. Two heroes were in the area, and are responding to the crime. Civillians are caught in the crossfire. Heroes are judged on their response time, their ability to prevent excessive destruction of material, plus their ability to apprehend the criminals.
The criminals are judged on their ability to outwit the heroes, to utilize their surroundings to create timesinks for the heroes, plus their ability to cause general public unrest." Once Ningyo was done explaining in English, she'd turn to Yumi and Elise, repeating the explanation in Japanese so that everyone was on the same page. Lastly, she pointed to her own students. Yumi and Elise, flipping a coin into the air. One side was red with a joker-esque marking. The other seemed like a batman lookalike. Underneath each respective image was a small text. 'Villain - Hero.' "You two start as the hero team. Please pick a quadrant to start outside. Then I'll prepare the two foreign students to be the villains that will ruin your day."

Waving at Amanda as they introduced themselves, Yumi was a bit worried they looked a bit timid, but if their school had sent them here they must have been a strong contender so Yumi didn't think to go too easy on them just based on a first impression. The boy was still a little cocky and the two personalities clashed a little hard, but she was eager to see how they'd do. The Villains didn't have to work together so much, in fact being unpredictable could work to their advantage, so they may have the advantage as villains rather than heroes.
"Well, I look forward to seeing what you both can do.~"
With the organizer of the event showing up, Yumi turned, listening to the english instructions that she could understand and folding her arms across her chest. So they had security guard hazards helping them out huh? Good to know. She wondered how they'd be informed of the location of the villains by these puppets, but assumed they'd be given some device to keep in touch with the puppets.
With the explanation done, she stepped aside, making it clear she understood the english rules before letting them explain it to Elise in japanese if she still needed it.
The coin flip granting them the roll of hero, she gave a quick nod and patted Elise's back. "You head to the closest quadrant i'll head to the one opposite. Best you don't waste your quirk travelling across the area huh?" She then whispered as she leaned in. If they try and head right for us we got that covered, but if they try to escape through the open quadrants, we'll go clockwise okay? That way we don't double up on a single one of them.~"
She offered her plan but was all ears if Elise had something better. Assuming her plan was okay she'd leap into the air and start her sparks, zipping across the sky over the zone and to her own quadrant, landing in any designated starting zone for the quadrant.
(OOC
Assuming the quadrants are layed out
1 2
3 4
Yumi suggests Elise go to 1 while she go to 4. She further suggests if the villains escape seperately through 2 and 3, that she go to 3, and Elise go to 2)
