Ever since the brackets were announced for the tournament Elise had to admit she felt somewhat bemused at the fact the luck of her draw was so curiously poetic. To her, the fact the first round would be fought against a foreign school student from Germany was already a curious fact, and when the identity of her opponent had become revealed Elise couldn't help but feel that it was almost akin to a clash between her past and the present. Her opponent was Elena Magner, the youngest of the Magner twins, and one of those she called a friend back in Germany. Although it had been at least ten years since she had last seen the Magner sisters, their reunion had been quite unexpected, to say the least, and in a way it was bittersweet. After all, her friendship with the Magner sisters was one of the few fond memories she had of her time back in Germany. And yet, the brackets had also revealed that Tetsuko was at the opposing end of their side of the bracket. This meant one thing: If she wanted to face her lover, she would have to reach the semi-finals. There was no doubt in her mind for even a moment that Tetsuko wouldn't make it, so confident she was in the resolve and skills of her iron-blooded knight.
However, this also meant that in order to advance, she would have to force her way past this challenge, right now Elena was an obstacle in her goal to reach Tetsuko. Taking a deep breath as Elise pulled on her tracksuit, she had prepared everything she would need, including a small pouch of her medical tools, which was cleverly hidden in the form of a pouch on the back. She obviously intended to try to refrain from using them, it was best to keep as much of her arsenal a secret till when she truly needed it, but she had to admit she had no idea what sort of combat style Elena would bring. Elena functioned the best with her sister, that much was clear to her, but perhaps there would be some surprises in store for her.
Upon being called onto the arena Elise's gaze briefly wandered around the spectator seats, the sight of her mother excitedly waving her makeshift flag bringing a smile to her lips before she turned toward Elena and smiled gently. "I have to admit, I didn't expect to fight you in this tournament Elena~ Then again, perhaps that could be said about me also~"
A soft chuckle escaped her lips as she stretched her arms gently into the air. "Although, unfortunately, you won't be able to expect me to go easy on you. Childhood friend or not, you're my opponent, and it would be rude to not give it my all."
A sudden forwards lunge was made by the burgundy-haired lass, her body transforming into its pinkish-colored slime form while she lunged with her two tentacle-shaped appendages on her head. One went straight into the direction of Elena's leg, hoping to try to coil around it to restrain her for even just a moment, while the other had turned into a serrated blade, seemingly aiming to swiftly lunge toward Elena's shoulder, an attempt to avoid any vital parts of her body and instead inflict strain upon the muscles in her arm! "And you're in my way of reaching Tetsu~"

Elena found it not entirely fair that she had to be here all by herself. Why was she even signed up for this was beyond her, because Helen was much more better for such matters, maybe they had mistaken her for Helen, maybe they had used the wrong name. Elena was actually sure that was not the case and Helen had actually said it would be a good boast for her confidence, well that confidence level was absolute 0% right now. Not only did she have the luck of having to fight someone from the foreign school where she was now, which made her already jittery, she also had to fight someone whose name she knew and whose face she knew, which was about everything that she remembered about Elise, well apart from the memories. However, in her blind state of panic and the horrid feeling of nausea in the pit of her stomach, she did not remember anything about showing her quirk to Elise or the other way around. Maybe she should lose on purpose, maybe she should have switched places with Helen, which definitely had not worked as Helen would have said no to that.
In her hurry to get this over and done with she almost forgot to take the metal spear with her when she stepped out of the changing cabins, she was wearing the same sort of tracksuit that the Adler academy used for their hero classes. It was comfortable and easy to move in, in the colours of the academy. The only thing that stood out, apart from the spear, were the heavy boots that Elena seemed to wear and that absolutely did not seem to suit the shy and jittery girl. The boots were heavy, militarian looking boots, which was true in the way how she got them, there was metal in the heel and toe part of the boots. Not only did she have metal in her boots but the hem of her tracksuit held metal bracelets well. With a firm grip on the spear, maybe a little too firm because of the nerves, she entered the arena. Her eyes scanning the seats just as Elise was doing to find Helen. Helen must be here, Helen must support her else she was sure this would be a match of seconds. Elena could hear her sister's voice in her mind because if she was not going to give it her all, it would not work that way. Even before she could find her sister, she turned to look at Elise who spoke to her. She nodded, yes, no one expected her here, not even Elena herself. If she would speak, she might vomit first and she was trying to calm down to not do that. It seemed to be working.
The way Elise said that she should not expect her to go easy on her made Elena realize that's absolutely something that Helen would say and she took one deep breath, "It would be a shame indeed." No idea where that came from, but she was channelling her inner Helen right now, they were twins, she could do this too. She immediately followed suit now that the match started to activate her own magnetic power, she had to get on higher ground, kind of literally. Which was a good idea as she now noticed the tentacle that would try to get towards her leg, she had just jumped up and used the metal parts of her boots and bracelets to levitate, which meant about three meters in the air. She told herself again and again that she had to focus. For the sake of not being rude, she would fight back. She was glad to have avoided that blade, that only meant that she should stay away from Elise as far as possible, but that was okay, she had her blade as well. She threw her spear with her right hand, aiming for Elise her stomach.
She could at least try something.

How unexpected, to think that Elena would make the mistake of thinking she could get out of her range. Although it was an efficient attempt at dodging her initial attack, after all the levitation allowed her to avoid the tentacle that swept for her leg, it didn't necessarily mean she was out of range. With the fact that she could stretch her body up to a whole twenty five meters range, Elise had to admit that she was not in the least concerned about reaching an opponent like Elena, a thing the girl would no doubt discover soon, for Elise's tentacle swept upwards in a curve, stretching behind Elena's back and moving straight for her leg again. this time attempting to pull her down again while at the same time her remaining tentacle swept forwards in a beeline toward the girl.
However, it was at that point Elena made a second mistake. Rather than the expected attempt to parry her tentacle with her spear, the girl instead tossed the weapon straight toward Elise who merely smiled while raising a hand upwards. "You shouldn't have done that Elena, letting go of your weapon is a beginner's mistake unless you're confident that you can retrieve it, or deliver the blow that would end the fight..."
Suddenly serrating her arm the girl skillfully flung her bladed arm against the spear, the sheer difference in sharpness not only causing her blow to slash with much more force, it also forced the remains of the spear into the ground, leading Elise to grin mischievously. "And this one certainly isn't going to lead you to victory~" Meanwhile the tentacle which was heading toward Elena continued, the tentacle blade slashing toward the lass her shoulder!
(sorry for the short posty T_T)

Three meters up in the air was what Elena thought would be a good start, she would throw her spear, she did not need to hold it in her hand, after all, that was the whole idea of a metal item. But while doing so she missed that Elise would simply grab a hold of her again with the same manner, what? How far could she go? What would Helen do? She tried to pull upwards while Elise tried to pull her down. Come on! Come on! Up! Up! She had to go up, where was Helen and what would she do? She had no time to think too much about this, she had to change a strategy as she noticed the tentacle come at her. It gave her nightmares already okay and she wanted to huddle down, form a ball and just stop this strange fight from happening. Was it even real or were they making a joke? "You forgot that I can." She decided to say, Helen would say that Helen would not show that she was afraid, Helen also would not be afraid, so that was a difference. While that meant she had to focus her quirk more into her hands than into her feet, which meant she would be pulled down. She dropped because of shutting off the levitation, hopefully moving skilfully aside to miss the tentacle blade slashing her shoulder while channelling her magnetic power in her left hand as forcefully and strong as she could to grab the end of the spear that was closest to her towards her. Well, she was definitely not going to win but Helen would never forgive her if she would sit back and do nothing.
Even if she got the spear in her hand, the blade-like thing that Elise used grazed her shoulder as she tried to avoid and that did sting already, she did not even dare to look at it, without the need to simply run away. She did feel on her bum the moment that gravity caught up with her again. What could she do? At least not let go of the spear again! Maybe she should just get up. She decided to do that instantly following it by running further away from Elise, sure she had something to attempt to block her but now what? She looked shortly at the spear or maybe she should just attack her beyond the tentacles, she moved it back up with her quirk, pointy end towards Elise to try and attack her body, while she herself tried to focus on the tentacles and dodge in case necessary while moving away, how far would she be able to reach?
Tldr: fell down, grabbed her spear back with the value manipulation/magnetism. Got hit at her shoulder but tried to dodge, so it's more grazed. Now controls her spear with magnetism while trying to run away.
