APPEARANCE AND PERSONALITY
Appearance:
Arthur looks like any usual healthy teen, if you discount the scars and bandages he has to wear due to his quirk. Most people who look at him assume that he's just lazy about how he looks and they'd be half right, as he usually looking like he literally walked through a tornado. He just finds looking smart and organized both boring and too much effort, due to the fact that his quirk makes damn sure that any work he put in to look nice went out the window.....not that he'd put much in anyway.
Therefore, his fashion sense has extended to looking like he rolled out of bed wearing his clothes, which at times is true, but he somehow pulls it off. He'll glady wear the same clothes multiple days in a row, as long as he doesnt smell anything bad. It doesnt help that he will wear anything as long as it isnt falling apart too much, due to both his financhal situation and his quirk. His parents would probably attempt to correct this, but due to work they are never around and his sister gave up on trying to years ago.
His quirk on its own, hasnt changed his physical apperance in the slightest, but due to using it too much over the years Arthur has just developed a habit of always wearing bandages on his arms and legs, due to his quirk causing many cuts over his limbs due to lapses of control/overuse. All the bandages he wears causes a habit of wearing a hoodie or jacket (sometimes both) constantly to hide them and not look too much like a chuuni. Plus, after the explosion that killed Red, his hair was burnt Ash black for a while. It still kinda is, But its lightened up to be more blueish. He wonders if he'll naturally get back to blonde or if he's stuck like this.
The most prominent scars are the ones on his face, one over his left eye, another over his nose and a third one on his cheek. He's also got bags under his eyes due to lack of sleep, but most of the time this is due to his insane work ethic or nightmares not allowing sleep than anything else. His Quirk also, for some reason, causes his hair and clothes to blow gently in the wind, which his family find hilarious. He blames his dad for this.......also finds it slightly comforting in these trying times.

Personality:
Arthur is, for lack of a better term, a suicidal idiot. The kid stubbornness makes even the most bullheaded individual look at him and think "How/Why do you keep getting back up". If he sets his mind to doing something, he will not stop until he either dies or has pulled it off, as he believes he has to work harder than everyone around him, due to his background. This even has physical evidence with all the scars he has, most of those were due to pushing himself AND his quirk too hard.
His insane drive also causes an almost instinctial dislike of asking for help, hardly even considering it until the situation is extreamly dire, since if he needs help, that means he isnt good enough yet. He IS capable of asking for help, but he will do everything in power to not let that happen, since he doenst wanna have anyone else fight his battles for him or be endangered because of him. If he does get help, he will do anything possible to not be indebted to people.
Due to both his appearance and his habit of keeping to himself, he's used to being a loner, just burying his feelings or anything he doesnt wanna think about and getting on with his life, but this isnt to say that he hates socializing, he's just bad at it. Once you get him going, he'll start talking at a mile a minute, to the point where he just naturally repeats himself due to years of talking too fast for peoples to understand. It gets worse when he starts thinking about something, especially fighting, because he will mumble to himself and just stop paying attention to whatever was happening.
He takes after his father and Red in both the muttering and his interest in quirk related support items, having modded his own roller blades to better suit his needs, and just fixing/modding/jury rigging things together is a hobby of his. Seriously dont get him talking about fighting, quirks or tech cause he go on a very long tangent. OR a rant about how Red could have done it better than him.
Due to having a history of getting into fights constantly, he developed a habit of swearing like a sailor, to the point where in most social situations he barely registers that he's doing it, unless an adult or teacher is the one talking to him.....and even then, he barely cares. This habit also just knocked any chance of learning a sense of tact out the window, so combine that with a motor mouth and he will say some very stupid things, which he will apologise for, but he has to realise what he said first.
All of this usually pushes people to either dislike or ignore him....atleast before UA, but to those who push through it and break into his shell they'll find that he will do ANYTHING to keep that bond strong, and becomes fiercely protective of his friends, to the point of almost assaulting anyone who bad mouths or hurts them, unless someone stops him. And even if you do stop him, he'll still ask if he can beat them up later.
He's gotten a lot more.....blunt with how he feels about certain things in recent times. When Red was around, he'd probably say something stupid and then apologise for it. But Arthur? He probably wont.

HISTORY
Arthur spent the first 8 years of his life growing up in England to a Quirkless Mother and a Father with a Wind Generation Quirk. He mostly used it to make his hair/whatever was in the area blow gently in the wind to look more romantic. They were both scientists in the field of Quirk Research and Quirk Support Items, Such as the Motorized Roller Skates Reddarcc used to mod, and Arthur still uses to this day. Life was simple, he went to school with his Older sister, got into fights with other kids and bullies, the usual kid hijinks. Everything changed when he was around 7 or 8. First off, his parents got the chance of a life time, an invitation to work at one of the most advanced Quirk Related Research Centre in Japan. They were both estatic, but worried about how it would effect their son's education. They were essentually forced to make a decision within a week, due to Arthurs quirk manifesting at the worst possible time.
He as doing the usual song and dance, defending one of the wimpier kids from Brandon, the kid with a fire quirk who liked burning things and threatening to burn kids with it. the fight was going poorly, as usual, but then Reddarcc felt a weird sensation in his fist.....it was sparking for some reason. Ignoring it, he punched Brandon in the stomach.......and sent him flying backwards into the swingset, knocking him out cold. Reddarcc was both happy to have a quirk, cause what kid wouldnt want sick super powers, and mortified of what he had just done with it. it didnt help that most of the shcool turned on him cause he had almost killed Brandon, despite his previous antics. There was no legal action taken against the family cause A) It was a complete accident and B) Reddarcc was a kid, even if he WAS a quirker. So the entire family packed up and shipped off to Japan.
The first year was hard for everyone, due to both the fact that everyone had to learn japanese and Arthurs struggling to control his quirk....and the fact his eyes were now blue for some reason. Luckily they were given a couple months to atleast learn the basics by the Research Centre and the school the kids were attending, but it was still hard to interact with society. Going to school ended up being not a good time for Arthur or his sister either, cause not only was he a quirker, but they were both foriegn too, so nobody felt the need to help em out or interact beyond the bare nessecities. This sent him down a bad path, and he was constantly trying to gain atleast one friend while getting into fights defending either himself, his sister or one of the wimpier kids back home, except instead of thanks he got a "I didnt need your help, quirker" response.
Arthur was getting more and more downtrodden, not having a real outlet for his emotions beyond talking to his sister and fighting, Which his sister found a little weird since....He was calling himself Red now, Insisting that Arthur was his middle name. Turned out that the trauma of developing a quirk, nearly killing someone with it immeditaly, an entire school turning on you, and having to get on a plane to a country he'd never seen before, with a language he didnt speak with a quirk he couldnt really control in the space of a few days was a little too much for an 8 year olds brain to handle.
So, during that time, Red was born. An 8 year olds idea of a nice, cool guy....which was also kind of a loser but it was fine. A guy who would help anyone, no matter what, even if he wasnt the most talkative sort. Someone who could be happy through everything, someone who wasnt Arthur, basically. Arthur just hid from his problems, because he was 8. He couldnt handle this sorta stuff.
Still, he wasnt exactly the best. He just acted like a happy Arthur who was a little dumber than usual, until had dad come home one day when he was 10, and gave him the roller blades he still owns to this day. They worked to both A) help him learn to control his quirk and B) have an hobby that wasnt fighting, something different from Arthur. It helped Red differentiate himself a bit, develop his own personality a little. The bad school life continued, but he didnt care as much anymore, spending most of his time trying to touch the sky. Plus, when bad stuff did happen, he could just bury it. A bad habit that was leftover from Arthur which.....may have had some unforseen consequences
Of course, even if he didnt care as much, that didnt mean that the bad school life didnt end up biting him in the arse. One day, he was walkin home with his sister when one of the kids who'd tried to pick a fight with him and gotten his arse handed to him showed up....with his older brother and a couple friends. Red managed to ignore em til they talked shit about his sister, whoch may have pissed him off just a tad. Of course, he was 12 and they were 15, so the fight went as well as you could expect....Until something happened.
Red still cant remember it. All he knew was that he heard a weird voice in the back of his head say "I'll take care of it" while he was getting choked out, and the next thing he knew, he wasnt in that street anymore. He was hooked up to an IV in the hospital, covered in bandages. Apparently he'd brought everyone but his sister with him in even worse conditions. He was very lucky that there was a security camera close by caught some of it. Not much footage, but the audio helped him stay outta Juvie....which honestly, might have been the better option for him.
Now, instead of just being a foreigner with a quirk......he was that, but with a criminal record. Any hope of being left alone by people was now out the window. He'd gotten a rep from that incident, and now every deliquent in the Tokyo area wanted a piece of the "Blonde Whirlwind", the guy who sent 4 older guys to the hospital. So, fights everyday became a way of life. If it wasnt for his sisters quirk he might not have even made it to UA.
Still, that didnt help him trying to help people. Sure, no one thanked him for it, but its not like that matter much anyway. His parents and sister both had noticed how much he put himself in the line of fire for others for years, and once UA opened, all three of em reccomended that he go to UA to actually train to be a hero, since she'd rather not him be arrested for being a vigilante eventually, and Reddarcc took the chance almost instantly, since he would A) get to help people and B) Maybe be around some people who would talk to him for once.
It wasnt all a smooth road to UA though. He'd ended up almost dying two weeks before he got there, but was luckily saved by a certain sparky red head, who ended up becoming his first, and best friend once he arrived. Before that he'd nearly gotten busted for fighting a steam punk by a massive cow pro hero, but he'd managed to not get make his record worse.
And a chance to do both he did. Sure, he'd gotten thrown into the sports festival his first day cause his sister thought signing him up would be funny, and had to go through the hell of Geist Boot Camp to actually get into the second year, but it was all worth it.
He hadnt exactly expected to make friends as quick as he did, not with his track record, but somehow, he'd gone from the deliquent with a criminal record to Red, the exploding delivery boy dumbass. Life was lookin up for him. Sure, he nearly got electrocuted to death by the girl he didnt even know he was in love with, but everythin was comin up Red........until November.
It'd been a normal day, really. His dad had wanted to show him something he was working on, and see how Red's quirk equipment was coming along. They'd planned on just goin to a cafe or park or somewhere and just talk......Red didnt get those chances often, so he was excited. Couldnt shake of the feeling that something was wrong, but he assumed it was just nerves and lingering worry about some weird nightmares he'd been having. Turned out his nightmares were trying to warn him...if only he'd listened.
He'd been waiting around for his parents to show up, since they were late, so eventually he figured they'd forgetten again and went to the lab, through the back way his dad showed him. When he got to the door he got ready to just tiredly remind them of what they were supposed to be doing today.....he instead got an explosion to the face that threw him out a window.
Turned out his parents werent late at all, they were gettin attacked by a villian....and Red opening the door caused an explosion to rock through the entire place and kill them....atleast thats how he rationalised it in his mind. He doesnt remember much about the days afterwards, except finding the guy who did it in a basement and......well, he doesnt remember.
Of course, no one else knew about this, thanks to the government deciding that maybe telling people saying an explosion was deliberate during the quirk tax protests was a bad idea, so any reporting on it just said it was an accident. If anyone asked, Red just said they were on a research trip somewhere. After all, his parents were actually completely fine, right? Yeah, totally, not repressing those memories at all.
It didnt stop there either. The next thing he knew, Kaz and his sister were gone too.......both put in Comas in Tokyo Hospital. Once again, Red just pretended that that wasnt the case. Kaz was fine, he just had to move away cause of his mothers work, and had decided to go to some weird actors academy or something, and his sister was on that same trip his parents were.....everything was fine.....
Of course, even if he told himself that it was fine, it kept getting worse. After a school trip to England for the sports festival ended up with him finally realising that he loved Yumi, he finally let out all his feelings he'd been burying for months.....ALL Of them. Sure, it meant that he was happy, finally dating Yumi after.....well, a rather strange set of events, but unfortunatly letting everything out might have had some.....unforseen consequences for his head.
Ever since then he'd been getting weird headaches whenever someone asks him something he doesnt wanna talk about, cause that means the guy in his head starts talking too, he'd been sleeping even less than usual, and he's having weird blackouts for periods of time that he cant bloody remember. Even started writing stuff down like Kaz did for some reason........he figured he was in for a hell of a year. He'd been keeping everything to himself but....maybe that isnt enough anymore. And what would you know, he was right.
After Yuuto confessed to him that UA got hacked because he'd been forced to stick a USB into a computer, with a gun aimed at Rans head, Red started to try and find out who the hell Ishtar was. He heard from Yojin that she was close by in the prision break in Tokyo, but.....well, lets just say that his nerves failed him, and he ended up just hiding behind a AC unit whilst Yumi and Feng had to run from her. The list didnt help his paranoid drive to not lose both of them either, going out into the night to find whatever he could.....but he wasnt prepared for this. He wasnt prepared for the nightmares either, flames consuming everything he cared about....Blue flames.
During this time frame, Arthur had been....waking up a bit. He called himself Hunter cause he thought he was fake, and had rapidly been developing a sense of self again thanks to Red burying anything he didnt want to deal with into him which....was a lot. He was even having to take over for Red when he just wanted to run and hide which....was a lot. he was really the one looking for Ishtar, cause Red couldnt handle it. He was the one who found that Yojin was Fix, He was the one having to deal with Yumi arguing with him....and he was the one who survived.
All of the stress, the trauma, and hurt from Yumi telling him she didnt believe a single word he said just....boiled over, and Red didnt know what to do. He panicked, punched Arthur in the face mentally and had a panic attack in front of Yumi. It didnt help that he ended up curling up and rocking against a wall while Yumi just....watched him pass out from hyperventilating. Or the fact that she just....packed her bags and left him whilst he was unconcious, dumping it onto Feng to deal with.
When Red woke up, he was terrified. He'd hoped he has just had the mother of all nightmares but....a quick look around the house proved that it wasnt a nightmare. It was real. He raced out of the house to look for her, but he didnt know where she had gone. He was just running around town desperatly, cause he didnt know what to do.
The next week was pretty Hazy, but Red found himself in a deserted part of town in a back alley courtyard. He hadnt found Yumi. She hadnt called or anything. She had just....up and left. Probably didnt miss him either, after what happened. Or atleast, thats what was goin throught his head at the time. His memory was hazy after all and he hadnt slept in...a while. He wondered if maybe he should have told her a couple things but....well, she was the one who said she couldnt handle depression so.....maybe this was....always gonna be how things ended. That thought may have broken him.
Everything was just.....too much for him. He wasnt built to handle this kinda crap. He was just supposed to be a coping mechanism for an 8 year old who should have just faded away before any of this happened but.....now he lost everything he'd ever gained. His quirk started going out of control too, his emotional state amping it up to new heights....blue flames surrounding him. He suddenly realised what those blue flames were for in his nightmares. He thought they were Ishtar but they were....him. And he found that funny for a second.....until he was gone. In a sea of blue, plasma induced, explosive flames. Look liked his summer vacation was....over.
Once again, a dull haze went over Arthurs memory. All he remembered was two things: The feeling of Red dying and disappearing as his quirk exploded....and the fact that he'd somehow ended up on a boat to bloody Korea. Plus his hair was burnt black now too.....the next couple of months were gonna be real hard to deal with. He'd been left alone now, a kid with memories that technically werent his and had been jumped up from an 8 year old to a 16 year old.
