Eli stretched his arms, today was a great day! The sun was shining and there wasn't a cloud in sight! Plus the sports festival was going extremely well! He couldn't believe how excited he was for the obstacle course! Everything had gone so smooth the past couple of days and Eli was ready to take on the world!
Even with how much he had been around the festival and done so many of the activities, Eli still enjoyed the event! He spotted a nearby game and went straight to it. It was one of those water gun mini-games where you aim for the circle! Another small kid came to the game booth and Eli gave the kid a huge smile. He decided to not go easy on the kid, but still give him a chance. Alas despite the kids efforts, Eli was the victor. The girl heading the booth gave him a rude stare as he picked out a plushy of Galaxy Fox and then handed it to the kid, "Keep it up and one day you'll be a cool hero like me." He smiled at the kid while he ran to his parents.
He didn't bother to look back to the girls expression, he knew it had changed but it wasn't like it mattered. It was obvious that he was a UA student based on his look, his usual black headphones around his neck, with a nice black flannel over a blue athletic shirt. Finally he had a pair of black pants and a pair of red shoes. Since he made the kids day Eli felt he should treat himself to some soda and a snack. He spotted a nearby vending machine and walked to it. First he bought a melon soda which was 100 yen, and 100 more went to a small bag of barbecue chips. With a satisfied look on his face, Eli opened the bag of chips, turned around, and walked forward until he bumped into a familiar woman. Eli's day was about to get a lot worse.

Junko was out and patrolling the area, making sure no sneaky delinquant pickpockets were around. She was dilligent in her work, never stopping to rest. She kept an eye on the general public and made sure there was peace. No Villains trying to sneak in and disrupt the peace. After all, a large gathering of heroes not just from Japan, but other nations is bound to draw some eyes. Some unwanted eyes. As she walked and kept her eyes everywhere, someone bumped into her.
Once she look at who was it, she saw Eli Bantis. "Ah... greetings Eli. Can I help you?" Junko said as she raised her brow. She was curious what was he doing. Probably walking around and exploring, she noticed he had snacks, which just confirmed her suspicions.
She decided not to say anything as to allow Eli to express himself. Most likely he'd try to weasel away from her. Much like on chat whenever she logs in. People 'suddenly' have to go. How annoying. After Eli says his piece, Junko asks "How are you? Are you feeling ready for the event?" She was curious to see if he trained or not and she was curious to see what will he compete in

Eli looked up to see a familiar blue faced teacher. He had accidentally bumped into Junko! "Uh...sorry Ms. Junko! I should have looked where I was walking!" Eli panicked. He hadn't really seen his teacher outside of class so he really didn't know what to expect. The calm voice of his teacher really surprised him. It was definitely different from the usual irritated tone he heard from her because of class 1-C's chaotic nature. Granted, the majority of the class usually deserved it too. Eli however, was too quiet to deserve the screams that Junko always gave the class.
As she greeted him Eli answered his teachers questions while munching on his chips and drinking his drink in between his words, "Uh no thank you! Nothing that I need help with at the moment! I'm doing pretty well though, I've been training nonstop, so I wanted to take a bit of a rest for now and get my energy back. As far as the event, I'm personally in the obstacle course one! So I've been training up my speed and mobility for it. I don't feel quite ready, but I think I'll be confident by the time it gets here. I hope I represent our class well!" Talking to his teacher really made Eli nervous, but not near as much as when he played his guitar at the opening to the sports festival, "Oh! Did you see me playing in OD Hazard? Did I do good?" Eli still thought his performance could have been better, and if his teacher had any advice he would take it!

Eli was startled when he saw Junko, but relaxed a bit when he heard her speak. Once she asked him a few questions, he answered. Granted he did so while he ate "I see, I see" Junko said as she nodded. Once Eli said his piece, Junko talked
"First of. Do not talk while you chew, nor eat, nor drink. That is a choking hazard. Speaking of Hazards, OD Hazard has put up an adequate performance." Junko said as to answer his questions
She then spoke about his competition "The obstacle course, interesting. Well, I wish you good luck" Junko said
Eli was a good student, but the fact that he was silent left Junko without anything to go on. One thing she could confirm was that he was no hooligan. If he was, he'd be as vocal as Darren and those other delinquents like Alex and Hayley, who are thankfully gone. Ah the thought of them gone made her smile. If the delinquents kept dropping out then she would have a breeze and teaching would be a cakewalk. Now back to Eli. He seemed like an average student... or maybe someone like Risaka. Eli gave Junko some 'Risaka' vibes

As Eli thought, a scolding was coming. Though it wasn't at all what he would've thought it had been for, she scolded him for chewing, eating, and drinking while speaking...Eli simply apologized as to avoid more yelling from his blue faced teacher, which was also why he was acting much less delinquent like. "Sorry Ms. Junko! I meant no disrespect!" Still he somehow managed to get a compliment out of her! If Junko considered there performance adequate...most people likely thought it was amazing! "Thank you for putting my insecurity on our performance at ease! Miku and I were really nervous cause it was our first performance, but Darren and Chimera gave us the confidence we needed! I really liked playing though!" Eli respected Junkos opinions, despite how hard she could be to please. Eli also didn't need her approval though, he just wanted to avoid more scolding.
"I appreciate the gesture, but I'm hoping that with all the training I have done, I won't need any luck! Still it may turn the tables in my favor when I need it, so thank you!" Eli sounded much more sincere then usually, if it was a student other than a select few, Eli would just tell them to 'Fuck off' but this was his teacher. Eli wasn't a respecting person a lot of the time, but he understood she had earned her place as not only a teacher but also a hero. So therefore, he gave her the respect that her titles came with.
Eli wondered how his teacher was enjoying her break from his fellow students. Not having to deal with Darren, Yumi, or Kirks loud mouth must have been a breath of fresh air for her. Despite Eli also being a delinquent, he was rarely one in class because he knew Junko already had so much on her plate. He didn't care that much, but he also didn't want to be the last straw that made her explode. With these thoughts in mind he asked, "So how has your break from class been? I hope you've enjoyed your break from us! When we get back to are there any specific training lessons you have in mind? Have you missed anything in particular as far as the class goes?" Eli made sure to pause in between his questions briefly, he didn't want to be scolded for talking too fast after all! Once he was done asking questions, he ate another chip and sipped on his drink again. Hopefully there wouldn't be any scolding for multitasking this time.

Yes, indeed. Junko heard out Eli say his part. He spoke how the kids were nervous before they performed. Junko could imagine that. Eli had also proceeded to be pleasantly polite! And even asked about future lessons!
"Yes, I do have questions in mind. Like a class for a signature technique. Which is honestly a shame that I did not manage to set up before this event. But honestly, this came out of nowhere! This sports festival even surprised me, when I got the news. Now, Eli. I have noticed your potential, so if you're interested I could sign you up for the battle tournament. While the obstacle course is a good path to take. I do believe a friendly sparring tournament is a good way to test your skills." Junko suggested
Eli had some good combat potential, and it would be shame if he did not nurture his gift. Junko knew Eli was a good student, even if he did not stand out much. And she would like to see the boy succeed. If he fails at obstacle competition, he can win in the tournament and if he fails in tournament, he can win in obstacle course. It just meant more chances at winning. Plus it would be delightful if he won both
Note: I know Eli replaced Ken in PvP against Meara. I hope you dont mind me giving an IC reason for that

Eli pondered Junko's suggestions, and thought about the signature moves lesson that she brought up. His combat potential could definitely improve from the tournament, but then he would also have to focus on both the obstacle course and the tournament. Splitting the training between the two events would definitely be much harder then for just one. Then again, Darren would likely commend him for trying two of them! So he decided to do it!
"The signature move stuff sounds really fun and cool! I hope I can come up with one that's good enough for the name! I am surprised they didn't let the staff at UA know ahead of time though, but maybe they didn't want information leaking out or something? Not that anyone among the staff would do that! As for the tournament I think that's a good idea, I doubt I'll be the winner, but it's definitely worth a try. If all else fails there's always the obstacle one! Plus even if I lose, failure is the best teacher! I can improve my skills and gain experience during my fights regardless of how many there are. Ill learn something either way and that's all that matters!" Eli's words were true! Failure was definitely the best teacher for him. He had been through fight after fight with Darren, Maxi, and a few others. Not a single win, but each time he got stronger without a doubt. Even if Darren didn't acknowledge his skills as they increased, Eli knew they had. He still had doubts though, hopefully he would win at least one fight and not be up against someone like Darren or Yumi in the first round. Regardless he would try his best. "I'll give it my all to prove 1-C are the champions sensei!" He shouted, keeping in mind how often Kirk got yelled at for being loud, he kept it at a reasonable shout. His enthusiasm was matched by the happy smile on his face. Now that he had finally finished voicing his opinion, Eli started eating more of his chips and finished them off. He walked to the trash can and threw them away like any normal person would. If Junko wasn't watching him like a hawk as usual, Eli would've simply threw it. However she was, so he acted like a civil human being that wasn't a delinquent. As he walked back over to finish his conversation with his teacher, Eli took another sip of his drink. He wondered what Junko would say in response to his answer.

Junko listened to Eli speak. He was reasonable enough, which made the teacher glad not all 1C was crazy. She was glad Eli decided to try the tournament. Failiure is the best teacher, though the teacher had faith that he can pull through. Eli is not gonna lose right at the start. He then threw the trash in the trash can like a good civil being. Thats good. Because if he didnt, she was gonna send him to do community service and pick up everyones trash.
"That's the spirit! I'm sure you can do it. You are incredibly tough, like a diamond in the rough. All you have to do is be refined, and I'm sure you'll shine like a true Diamond!" Junko said
Now she switched back to the signature attack lesson "Now harping back to your signature or ultimate moves, I am considering making it optional. As much as I want the entire class to have at least one of these moves, I dont think I can force myself to argue with some of those lazy bums. I've decided if they dont want to bother trying, then why should I? But..you.. if you need any help in preparing for the tournament, I will be happy to oblidge and help you" she said

Eli smiled as Junko encouraged him. He would be the diamond in the rough, and he would give this tournament thing his full attention when the time came. He would show them exactly why class 1-C were the champions, "Thanks for believing in me Ms. Junko! I'll show them exactly why our class is the best there is!" His voice showed exactly how excited he was for the tournament. Hopefully he wouldn't have to face someone extremely strong in the first round, or someone who countered his quirk. He wanted to at least be able to show how powerful he was! "Oh and thanks for signing me up!"
As the conversation shifted to signature moves, he listened to what Junko had to say. She wasn't wrong, those that didn't put effort in didn't really deserve to be taught signature moves. However, Eli himself used to not put effort in. If not for Darren, Eli would probably still be in that group. "I understand your frustration with them but...I myself used to not put effort in. Not that I'm trying to defend them but everyone consciously chose to come here, and I think eventually they'll put effort in if you continue trying. If it wasn't for Darren I would probably still be in the group you're frustrated with. He made me train, he made sure I was getting stronger. Regardless of anyone else's opinion of him, I'll always have Darren's back because he had mine. As for help I'm making sure to get plenty of it. I've already asked Naoru to spar with me and Miku to make me an obstacle course to run through! I didn't get to the strength I'm at now on my own, so it's reasonable that it will be easier to get stronger with help from my friends!" Eli's words rang true in his heart. His friends truly were his source of strength.

Junko was pleasantly surprised by Eli, so much so that she was speechless for a moment. She listened to his words and reasoning that actually made her feel at ease. Eli gave her hope for the other trainwreck sorry excuses for students. Maybe in time they will start being more mature and work harder
"Thats truly wonderful Eli. Well, I wish you luck in the tournament and your obstacle competition. I will make sure to watch my students perform. Perhaps I can use that for the future lesson! I can see where you made mistakes so we can correct all the flaws" Junko said excitedly
But she didnt want to be all work to the boy, so she decided to try and change the subject into something more pleasant "So, where were you going now?" She asked, interested in his activities. She couldnt remember if she asked that before. She hoped she didnt, Junko didnt wanna look stupid or old or senile to these kids... even IF her hair was white. Stupid paranoia aside, she hoped that was enough to spark some small talk between the two, maybe they can finally get to know eachother properly now. Well... she hoped that.

Eli gave his teacher time to process what he had said, it seemed like she took the words as hope based on how she reacted. Eli hoped she would give the class another chance. After listening to her statement, he responded, "I'll look for you in the crowd! I hope it's entertaining! I'm also sure it will help you realize that while most of us goof off, there are times when we're serious. If any of us want something bad enough, we'll get it. And I bet it will improve your lessons as you said!" Before today, Eli saw Junko as a monster of a teacher. The teacher that taught strict teachers. Today he learned that even she had feelings, despite how strict she was. All the nonsense of class 1-C even got to her! He made a note to be easier on her in the future.
At the change of subject, Eli answered, "Oh! I'm going to the Martial Arts club! Training is more important now than it ever was before! I'm not gonna win this tournament by just sitting around after all!" A grin was plastered on Eli's face, He couldn't wait to show Junko, Darren, and everyone else what he had! There was no way he would be giving up easy!

So Eli was going to the martial arts club to work on his techniques! Thats absolutely lovely "Thats a wonderful idea. With training I'm sure you can do it. Plus, you get to keep an eye on Darren and make sure he doesnt get into some crazy shennanigans" Junko said
She then made a small offer "If you want, I can escort you there." Junko wanted to see how the martial arts club was doing, and she wanted to see who was there. Darren for sure, maybe Kirk since he's all sporty and physical. Maybe Elise of 1B, that girl looked like she had something.
Not to mention it would be delightful to keep her student company for a bit more until he gets there. After that they can go their seperate ways. But if Eli doesnt want it, then there's always another time. Either way Junko is satisfied. She managed to bond with a student a bit and thats a plus. So far she managed to bond the most with Akio, Yumi and now Eli. She wondered who would be next. So many students, so little time, which one of them needed a teacherly guidance the most. Ah there was probably more time to figure that out
