Sometimes the only pay-off for having any faith Is when it's tested again and again everyday I'm still comparing your past to my future It might be your wound but they're my sutures The sports festival was the exact kind of event that grated on Naoru’s nerves in all the wrong kind of ways. He was getting used to the school’s student body in his everyday life, seeing the others getting busy in class and on the training fields, but the kind of crowd the festival was gathering was making him more jumpy and anxious than usual. It reminded him of the first few days of school when he was ready to run away and out of the school gate the moment someone looked at him funny. Paranoia was resurfacing, and after Naoru broke the third glass cup within fifteen minutes of being in the cafeteria, he knew he needed something else to do or he would go insane. Luckily, distraction was coming his way when he checked the school chatroom and Eli was happy to accept doing a little training session of literally any kind in preparation for the tournaments. Naoru wasn’t participating, but that never meant he was ready to just sit quietly all the while. If he could help his classmate get even a little bit more prepared for what he signed up for, he was more than ready to do that. He could even chalk this up to be his first task as 1-C’s vice president. Which still had an unbelievable and alien ring to his ears. He told Eli that he will be at the training grounds in fifteen minutes. That much time was enough for him to get back into his dorm room and dress in the standard red, blue and white U.A. training uniform. A pair of black gloves were pulled over his hands, but unlike usual, he didn’t put on the full-arm gloves to hide his left lower arm that was visible under the sleeves of his uniform. Discolored from his mutation, his left arm was currently a solid dark red, much like a marble statue of an old cathedral. With his current hairstyle, the feathers on his scalp, on the back of his head were visible. Still, he wouldn’t be willing to leave without his contact lenses, so instead of red and black, his eyes had the more usual color of grey. His quirk, the white, deceivingly solid Aura settled around his neck and shoulder like an oversized scarf, ready to lash out and form into anything he wanted to. In time, he reached the training grounds and would wait for Eli to arrive as well. He wasn’t yet sure what exactly they would be doing. Probably anything that Eli needed, or was lacking of. He remembered his classmate would be doing the obstacle course, and that meant he needed to train his maneuverability and his running speed. But he could guess he was doing that already. Maybe just a little spar to expand on his stamina and defenses would work well. It would all depend on what Eli wanted. MADE BY VEL OF GS

Eli watched as messages flooded the chat until the one he was waiting on showed up! "Meet at the training grounds in 15 minutes." Naoru and Eli were gonna train in some form or fashion to prepare for Eli to compete in the obstacle course! Though Eli himself had already been preparing his speed and mobility, so he simply wanted a little spar from Naoru. He threw his blue and red UA gym uniform on along with his black shoes, and slung his headphones around his neck. With his outfit complete, he took out his phone and messaged his classmate, "Be there soon, I'm leaving the boys dorm now." Slipping his phone into his pocket, he headed out the door!
As he walked out of his room, his roommate Darren yelled something about training, but he had built up a sense of when to ignore his delinquent friend and when to pay attention. Darren was still a great roommate for him he just...was a little much sometimes. They still liked the same things for the most part though, so Eli was sure it would get much better as soon as the sports festival was over and they had some proper time to hang out.
As he walked towards the training grounds, Eli looked at all the activities on the way to his destination. He had seen them a billion times but there were still so many he wanted to try that he knew he wouldn't get to! He hoped next year he would have more time to relax. He couldn't wait to get stronger!
Finally he arrived at the area and checked his phone for the time. Twenty minutes had gone by and Eli knew Naoru was the type of person to never be late, so he looked for the familiar white haired boy. Eventually he spotted him and headed over. "Hey Naoru! I was thinking we could start with a simple spar if that's okay with you, I've been training up my mobility and speed on my own so I don't need as much help with that. If you have another suggestion that would work too! I'm fine with whatever you are really!" Eli explained as he reached Naorus position. Despite all the training he had done he could still use more, but he had done significantly less spars then anything else since the festival started. So he hoped Naoru would be okay with that option. Regardless, he was excited!

Sometimes the only pay-off for having any faith Is when it's tested again and again everyday I'm still comparing your past to my future It might be your wound but they're my sutures While waiting, Naoru idly flexed the fingers of his left hand, closing and opening his fist in time with hardening and softening his Aura’s structure. He gained a habit of fine training his quirk and body this way over the time he attended Yuuei. He found it helped him make his fine motoric movements better, which was in turn needed for him to control his writing and drawing skill more. He was still far, far away compared to how he was before his accident, but he found it actually worked. Just a little. But tiny steps were still more than no progress at all. And over all, such small training exercises were useful for better control of his quirk as well. It was his lifeline after all. If he failed to strengthen his Aura during a fight, or lessen its sensitivity to pain, he would have to suffer the consequences. It didn’t take long at all for Eli to arrive. “Hello, Eli-kun!” His classmate seemed excited enough for training, which was obvious from the way he instantly asked for a spar. Naoru was somewhat conflicted, still feeling a lack of control ever since his Aura’s development suddenly sparked, but Eli seemed prepared enough for anything Naoru had to throw at him. In that case, he will hold back only enough not to lose control, and place a small trust in Eli and believe in him in holding up against him fine. “Alright. We can have a spar if that is what you want.” He nodded, smile faltering only a bit. He reached up with an arm, around his neck and to his back, pushing on his elbow with the other arm, stretching his muscles to make sure not to injure himself with a careless movement. He repeated the motion with his other arm. “Please do say so if you had enough. I will do the same if you overpower me any time during the fight.” All the while stretching, his Aura would adjust into a battle stance as well. Instead of appearing soft and warm like a scarf, it pushed through his skin to cover both his arms and the whole of his upper body like a makeshift, white half-body suit. His left hand in turn changed as well, fingers gaining a pointy end and shifting into claws, showing its difference compared to his right arm made of flesh. While his right was only covered by the Aura, the left one was made by it. At the edges at his hips and shoulders, the Aura was shrouded and moving with the movement of the air, as if it was mist ready to be blown out by the wind. Naoru was ready for a fight, and ready to adjust himself to any attacks Eli would come up with. He took the initial in the fight. Rushing forward with a simple but swift leap, he aimed his right fist towards Eli’s chest in an attempt to bring the first damage. He quite expected such a straightforward attack to be parried or retaliated against, so as soon as the punch was done, whether it connected or not, he would leap again, but this time with the help of his Aura. The ends of his white shroud would shot out towards the ground, amplifying his jump, helping his natural dexterity to jump above Eli and behind him with a graceful somersault in the air. Without waiting to touch solid ground, he would then aim a kick right in between Eli’s shoulder-blades to unbalance him and push him forward, also effectively pushing himself backwards and further away. After landing and assuming a relaxed stance with only his left arm raised in front of him, with his palm forward and claws slightly curled inward, he would wait for Eli’s actions readily. words: 635 C-Rank Aura Wraith E-Rank Dexterity F-Rank Regeneration MADE BY VEL OF GS

Naoru accepted Elis request to spar as opposed to more obstacle training like he had done with Miku. Therefore, he prepared himself. He had never seen Naorus quirk in action, but it looked cool. He watched as it went from a scarf to some sort of armor and claws. Since he hadn't seen it in action, he decided to use his quirk to make a sword and shield. He didn't know if going offense or defense was a better option, so it was best to have both. The shield was placed in his left hand, and the sword in his right. Initially he decided to go for a defense approach. Naoru decided to take the first action as expected. For the initial leap, Eli simply raised his shield to block the attack. However, it still pushed him back a few meters. For the second attack that came his way, Eli turned around to meet the kick and used the unsharpened side of his sword to block it. Afterwards Naoru leaped out of reach. He was an interesting opponent for sure.
Eli started his counterattack by charging towards Naoru a ramming his sword straight towards his chest. Followed by a horizontal slash from the right side of his ribs to the left. Finally he attempted to bash his opponent in the chest with his shield, using the momentum to push himself back out of reach. Eli was hopeful that Naoru wouldn't completely destroy him, but deep down he knew he would lose.

Sometimes the only pay-off for having any faith Is when it's tested again and again everyday I'm still comparing your past to my future It might be your wound but they're my sutures The first attack was an attempt to gauge Eli’s current strength, and although it was not yet enough to fully map his abilities, it at least gave Naoru an idea for his style. It seemed he preferred to go with the classical approach of a shield and sword, an equal balance in both offense and defense. It was a good style, at least good for the start of a battle until his opponent’s skills are discovered. Once gaining his distance and standing in his relaxed stance, he did not have to wait long for Eli to go on the offensive this time. Focusing mainly on hardening his Aura that covered him, he was able to take a step back just in time to avoid Eli ramming his sword against him, however, the following horizontal slash would connect. The edge of the sword scraped across his Aura, but the hardened surface was nearly as hard as soft metal itself, so it withstood the attack. Naoru winced, only slightly, as his pain receptors still registered the connected attack, even if he took nearly no injury from it. Reflexively, his left arm moved, claws trying to grab the blade of the sword and twist it, hold it out and away from Eli’s body to make him vulnerable and lessen his hold. His left hand was made completely of Aura, and it would hold fast with the same hardness it stood up against Eli’s slash before. If the hold was there, as Eli’s shield bash connected, the sword might even be snatched out of Eli’s hand if he was not holding it steady enough. In either case, Naoru would not let him get comfortable in the distance Eli tried to gain. Feeling a slight throbbing pain from the slash and the shield bash on his chest, he rushed forward, low this time, aiming his claws to hook into Eli’s left leg to unbalance and possibly tip him over, not aiming for a slash and injury. If he lost his sword, he might need time to recreate it, which Naoru would not let. Even if he still had it, Naoru went on his left side, under his shield, to avoid the weapon. Whether he tripped Eli over or not, he would yet again jump away to gain distance and wait for him to strike. These hit-and-run tactics were not really Naoru’s style, but in his current mindset, it was the safest against a fighter with close ranged possibilities, like Eli. words: 415 C-Rank Aura Wraith E-Rank Dexterity F-Rank Regeneration MADE BY VEL OF GS
