A dream... Or was it a nightmare? Elise wasn't sure whether it was even a fabric of her imagination or a twisted memory from her past, and yet it felt so vivid. She found herself in an oddly familiar landscape, various vendor stalls, and attractions all around her. In a way, one could easily have described this as a festival, and yet at the same time, it was also clearly something different. It was the Halloween festival in Tokyo, people were enjoying the festivities, dressed up as various characters, it was supposed to be a time she would spend alongside Tetsuko, and yet she found that peaceful thought brutally disrupted by several screams. The crowds around her scattered, people, fleeing in various directions while in front of her eyes she had watched a pink-colored slime girl fighting against the armored monster that was Nick Cross.
It was a violent clash, and yet even despite giving her best efforts, Elise had been unable to stop him from escaping. It had been exactly the same thing as what had happened during the chaos of Semper Fi. Just the thought of it caused the scenery to distort, the sight of the tall man who she only knew under his moniker 'Thunder Shock' emerged before her, and instantly she felt that painful sting in her chest, a hand reaching for the scar that was left in the wake of their confrontation.
"It's so frustrating..." That feeling of being powerless, she hated it. The fact she had been unable to prevent Nick Cross from escaping, the consequences Thunder Shock's freedom had upon her and Tetsuko's lives... And it wasn't just that. The recent events in the Capture the Flag exercise, the fact that despite all her training she was the first to be knocked out. Opening her eyes Elise sighed softly, a hand raised to her face as she rose upwards and looked around, a soft mutter following. "Tetsu?" But there was no sight of the iron-blooded girl.
"..." A light shake of her head followed while she climbed out of her bed and approached the bathroom, a swift unbuttoning of her pajamas soon leading the burgundy-haired lass to find the remnants of drowsiness fading away from her body, and the encroaching feeling of annoyance creep up onto her.
"Bah~ This feeling is unlike me..." Elise muttered softly as she felt the water droplets rain down onto her body as she continued to muse softly. "If I'm weak, there is only one thing I can do to change that." Indeed, video games and anime might have cases of where a hero was blessed with unexpected power in their time of need, but such a thing was not the case in their reality. No, if she wanted power... she would need to earn it, and there was only one way to earn true power!
Although the gym of U.A had been transformed into the hosting ground for the science fair, there were still plenty of places where the school had set up equipment and even offers of training advice for their students. Elise had taken this initiative to try her hand at fighting some of the mechanical constructions that one of the foreign schools had brought with them. She knew the robotics club at U.A was supposedly doing some experiment runs with their own, but Elise wanted to try her hand at going all out against some serious opposition, and fortunately for her it seemed that Chinese school had some combat drones they were offering to test, and even better they didn't need to remain intact! All they wanted was to be given permission to observe the results, and Elise didn't mind that at all.
It was just like that the burgundy-haired lass found herself in the training ground, surrounded by four combat drones. Each one seemed humanoid in form, and yet judging from how excited the Chinese engineers seemed, they were likely of high quality. A sudden noise filled the area, making it clear the training program had begun, and so Elise started her exercise. A sudden burst of pink fluid escaped from her body, the sign of her transformation happening as the burgundy-haired lass had turned into a pink slime girl... yet clearly possessed more than the traditional features of one. The first one to reach her was the combat drone to the north, right in front of her. The robot raised a metal fist and flung it at her, but Elise was already in motion, a swift and smooth sidestep making the fist strike only empty space, and while the three other drones encroached upon her, Elise already moved.
With a smooth spin of her body, she spun around to the robot's back, one of her hair tendrils swishing toward the arm of the robot that was reaching for her. It was fortunate for the Chinese engineers that it was an armor-plated metal construct, but even then the sheer sharpness of her tentacle blade led to the robot to have its arm carved into, bits of electricity sparking from the exposed wires.
Yet at the same time, Elise continued onwards, her remaining tentacle-like appendage sharping into a blade and cleanly impaling the back of the robot's head, the machine collapsing onto its knees while its allies swiftly approached to continue the fight.
Meanwhile, the Chinese researchers were conversing among each other, one person in particular, clearly not part of the group judging from his attire and the fact he was muttering Japanese mused in amusement. "She's an interesting one. No signs of a school technique, it's as if those techniques are raw, but fundamentally sharpened to a sense that they are akin to... Yes, To her what she is practicing is likely not a martial art, it's just an assassination method. I wonder who her mentor would be... The Chinese would no doubt to learn some tricks from him" The man mused softly, oblivious to the fact they were about to get some company soon. Or perhaps he didn't care, it was hard to tell behind the shaded glasses he was wearing.
