The first day of the sports festival was a fun one so far. And while the night before and some odd events throughout the day was trying to make things difficult, it was still nice to see all the people around enjoying the activities and events Yuuei had to offer. The school was the busiest it had ever been and was even hosting other schools for competition. Ericka wasn't too sure why professional hero schools needed to compete against each other if they were all going to help the civilians in the world, but she also knew that there were a lot of competitive students. Testing one's mettle against a peer was really a part of how some people were, so something like this should have been expected. She just hoped that no one got too hurt in the process. Ericka felt bad for the school's medical team. That said, Ericka was taking the time to relax before it was time for her event. She was going to be competing against students from other schools, so she needed to be ready to give them her all and hope they weren't going to go overboard. She was going to spend some time with her friends. She didn't know if she was going to be teamed up with them in the competition, so hanging out with them now was the best idea. Keeping them out of trouble was a pretty good addon as well. She knew that some of them could be abrasive and she didn't want trouble with the guests from other schools. She had texted them to meet her in the main alley where most of the stalls and people were at. Specifically, she was in the part that had the festival games for visitors to enjoy. It wasn't as expansive as the Kunshu Festival, but Yuuei was still able to offer a whole lot to the people that had come. Ericka was seated on a bench. She sat with her knees touching, but her feet apart. The girl was leaning forward with her elbows resting on her thighs and her phone in her hands. it was held up so that she could tap ad look at the screen as she looked over the festival's event schedule. She didn't want to be late for the event she was supposed to attend, so she had to make sure she timed things out properly. What was important was that her friends showed up in a timely manner. She knew they were all in the festival somewhere, so as long as they were able to spot the blonde then they would be fine. Normal that wouldn't be an issue, but with both a German and British school visiting, Ericka didn't stick out as much. After a few moments, the girl sat up straight and smiled, looking into the crowd to see if anyone had come into view. And as she did, for just a moment, her eyes caught contact with an odd fellow. She thought nothing of it at the time, but his gaze lingered on her more than one might expect.

these rapid eyes will keep on moving As one might expect, today was quite the day for everyone involved. Even with everyone busy with the different events of the sports festival, there was still a ton of time to occupy everyone's time with a ton of nonsense. But after dealing with various things and even meeting some new and interesting people it was time to finally relax and get something to eat. Lani didn't really expect to see so many games and things at the festival. Between her foray with the boy from Canada and her previous encounter with some missing objects, there was still a ton of things for her to check out. That was good though, at least she got to see more than she got to see at the Kunshu festival. Back then, she only got to see the festival on the last day and everyone knew how that turned out. So now she had time to spend with her friends and classmates doing something that was more relaxing. Lani was happy to finally get a break. She made her way toward the spot Ericka had texted them to meet at.
It was supposed to be some lone bench in the main alley, but Lani had to spot her through the crowd that was around. Usually, she stood out pretty well. There weren't a whole lot of blondes in Musutafu, so there were only a few people Lani could assume it was when she saw the hair. Today, however, they were being visited by a whole bunch of schools from out of the country, so the count was ever so slightly higher. Fortunately for Lani, she was a bit tall, so seeing over the crowds wasn't as impossible as it was for some others. Eventually, she spotted the girl on the bench and smirked. She made her way over and called out to her in an attempt to be heard over the crowd. "Hey girl!" Her hand shot up into the air with a quick wave as she got closer and finally came into view. It was like emerging from a rushing stream as Lani popped out of the moving crowd and stood in front of Ericka.
She was in her school uniform, representing Yuuei in the face of the schools from Germany, Canada, China, and Britain. Oddly enough, America didn't seem to have been invited, but Lani didn't ever expect to see anyone that she knew from back home. It was actually kind of an important thing since Lani was trying to stay under the radar during her time at Yuuei. "The other two not show up yet?" She asked in reference to Nyke and Kyla. The four of them were going to hang out together for a little while before the events started, so she needed them all here. "The others schools are looking pretty slick. We've got some interesting competition here today. I was talking with this one dude from Canada and he seemed to be really enjoying himself." She remarked with a chuckle. "The girls here anyway." She added in reference to his flirtatious attitude. ulla

Demon Machine i no longer fear ending my hell Nyke had quite the day already and it had barely started. She started the day in the middle of the night to deal with a weird voice. Then she had to wake up to help set up the testing area for the machines she created. And then she had to deal with some thief taking a part that she needed to get the testing started. She didn't get to start the event as early as she had hoped, but it still got a good starting point going. The first test went well and Nyke was happy with the results. And with it done, the girl had some time to enjoy the festival while the assistants at the testing site readied the machines for the next testing phase. It wasn't something they needed her for, so they let Nyke go and enjoy the festival a bit with her friends. While she didn't communicate that fact, the three from the Hellion Corporation could tell that she did want to spend some time with her friends. And if that meant doing a bit of extra work, that was fine. It wouldn't be good for them to try and boss around the CEO's daughter anyway. And even though they weren't here just to smooze up with the man, it helped to be nice to her.
Luckily for Nyke, this was when their class president wanted to meet up with them. Ericka was one of Nyke's friends and was interested in spending time with the girl and a few others in the festival activities. Like Nyke, she had been pretty busy with different events during the festival and this was a short break they would all have to do something together. Nyke was just fine with that and looking forward to doing something with them. Even though she was the quiet type that stayed in the background, she did like to be involved in things, even if it was just watching. As for moving through the crowd to get to the meeting spot, that was a completely different story. It wasn't so much moving around that was the problem. Nyke was pretty much a wall for most people. She was a tiny little tank that usually couldn't be moved unless she wanted to be moved. However, she was also small. So seeing through the crowd was hard for her. She couldn't just look over other people's heads or see around them. She kind of hand to navigate blindly based on small spots that were clear of people.
However, slowly but surely, Nyke made her way to the bench. She ended up on the back side of it, so Ericka wouldn't see her, but Lanai probably would have. She could see Lani speaking to the blonde in the distance and decided to approach the pair with haste.
"I'm here."
She spoke quickly and softly as she always did, just making her presence known as she stopped to stand next to the bench. She wasn't going to sit on it however since she didn't want to break or bend it with her weight. Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ

You leave me here wondering if I'll ever know How much you care, or how much you don't If you're going to be somebody's last time, baby be mine. “ After having returned the stolen things to their rightful owners, Kyla could finally have some time with her friends. Though they met up by chance during their previous encounter, Kyla was looking forward to doing something with that that was planned. Namely, hanging out with her classmates at the various stalls that were constructed at the festival. There were a few game stalls and food stalls, but a couple of them here from interested parties. Recruiters, businesses, and all other kinds of people were around to see the heroes of tomorrow and make deals with them the best they could. Kyla was particularly interested in the business aspect of it all. With pro heroes becoming a professional career there were all kinds of changes and opportunities available to both heroes and businesses alike. Watching the market grow and emerge was pretty exciting for the girl, even if her face couldn't communicate a single signal of that. But for now, her focus was on her friends and she had to find them in the growing crowd at the sports festival. She was told they were going to be meeting up at a certain bench, so all she had to do was start there. By this point, she was already ordered Ophelia home, so she was on her own now. She was going to have to take a shift with the Hellion Testing later anyway, so it was a good place to store the Nasod until then. Kyla moved through the crowds with decent enough ease. She was averagely sized for her age, so she melded well with the other teens around her. She didn't have to worry about sticking out or getting overshadowed by them. And there was just enough space for her to move around without bumping into too many people. Of course, if she did, she would give them a quick and coy apology before moving on. In the end, she was last to arrive at the spot as she saw the backs of her classmates. They definitely stood out even with all the other foreigners here. They were as she expected. Nyke quietly off to the side, Lani barely wearing her uniform, and Ericka sitting n the bench herding int he other two. If Kyla could smile,s he would have. Instead, she had to be audible with her expressions, so when she walked over, the white-haired girl spoke up immediately. "Don't you all look cute together?" Her comment came with wave as she stepped into view of the others and stood between Lani and Nyke to complete the little circle that they had. She would have sat down, but she figured they would be moving again soon, so she simply stood by. Lani was speaking of one of the students she met from the other schools and Kyla perked up a bit, curious as to what that was like. "I didn't know they had a school in Canada. If Yuuei hadn't have opened first, I probably would have went there." It was much closer to home and her parents would likely have preferred she went there. ”

Ericka didn't have to wait long before her friends and classmates showed up to the gathering. It seemed each of them was able to take care of what business they had to take care of came promptly. First of the three was Lani, who greeted her from a distance. Ericka perked up and smiled at the tall girl. A polite wave was given as Lani was quick to speak about her day so far. "Hey, Lani..." She started as she heard that the girl encountered some of the students from the other school. A bit of worry popped into Ericka's head as she tried to imagine how that interaction went. Lani was pretty straight forward and spoke her mind. She hoped the girl didn't offend anyone or give them a bad first impression of Yuuei as a school. "I hope you behaved." She teased. "I'm sure they came wearing their best and we should do the same." Was she being a bit of a wet blanket? Sure, but it was also important that the school be good hosts to the others. With that said, Nyke also came into view. As usual, the girl spoke barely anything at all. There were only two things that she said, but it was enough to let Ericka and Lani know that she was here. It was frustrating sometimes, but it was also kind of cute. Ericka always figured it was a thing about her being shy. And while it might not be true, it was still the presence she gave when she spoke like that. Like a timid little sister that still wanted to be a part of everything else. And last, but not least, was Kyla. She commented on the group and came over to join them. She also heard about the school from Canada and Ericka nodded along with her. "Yeah, I don't think any of them were enrolled when Yuuei opened. We're the originals." Just as she finished speaking, a breeze blew through the festival alley. And while it shouldn't have been something that was noticeable, there were some odd things about it. Most obvious of all was that the breeze was localized. A gust of wind would usually blow through a whole area. But this breeze was much smaller. When it blew through the crowd, it was a very specific line and smaller section of it. It was like a stream trickling through rather than a wave that washed over them all. The breeze had just missed the girls, being a few inches away from the group. But the effects of it were pretty obvious. Seeing a flag and some paper, and some clothing blow in the wind was nothing unusual. But seeing that, but not feeling any wind yourself when you were outside was definitely odd. Ericka had noticed it but didn't think anything of it right away. It was pretty innocuous. Instead, she stood from the bench and looked to the stalls. "Well, we're all here, let's go check this stuff out. There's not a lot of them, but a few games here and there seem fun." She told the girls as she started to walk toward the stalls that had small prizes and things that could be won. And as the girl started to walk, there were different people in the crowd that were acting strangely. They were all girls and they started to tug on the bottom of their skirts or press their knees together. It was strange and its relation to the breeze seemed nonexistent for now. Either way, the girls were off to do their thing now. Lani Bijan, Nyke Nora, Kyla Casey

these rapid eyes will keep on moving Lani chuckled as both Nyke and Kyla appeared from the crowds. Nyke with her ever so quick greetings and responses and Kyla commenting on how they were cute just standing around with each other. They were quite the group, but Lani was just happy to have them all here after dealing with the nonsense they had to deal with. Luckily they now had a break and could just relax and enjoy each others company. Kyla commented on how she would have gone to the Canadian school instead if it was open and Lani shook her head. She slung an arm around the girl and pulled her in with a laugh. "Nah we need you here girl."
It was true that things would have been different if the other school opened at the same time. But Lani would have probably still gone to Yuuei. She wanted to get as far away from home as possible and being a whole ocean away put her mind at peace. And while she knew that still wasn't enough, she also knew that she didn't have to worry about that person for the moment. It was a relief. As for what they were going to do together, Ericka had picked out trying a few games. Winning some prizes to mark the event was a good idea. The sports festival as a whole was a pretty crazy thing to have going on and it made sense to make good memories with it, so Lani gave the blonde an enthusiastic nod. "Hell yeah! Let's see if we can win something ridiculous." Lani followed suit with Ericka, dragging Kyla along with her and waving Nyke over to come and join them. They were going to move as a group now. Of course, once they started to walk, there were some weird things going on.
While Lani didn't notice the initial breeze, she did see some odd reactions. Some of the girls in their vicinity were red around the cheeks. Some were scampering away while others were tugging on their clothing uncomfortably. It was normally something that Lani would ignore, but the abundance of it was what was weird. A frown quickly appeared on her face for a moment. But a glance at her friends made her smile again. Whatever it was, it didn't seem to affect them, so it was just whatever. That aside, Lani looked down at Nyke, the quieter of the bunch. "Hey, weren't you testing out those things today. The robots or whatever Ny?" She remembered something about them being in a club, her and Kyla. They were making machines or something. It wasn't that interesting to Lani, but if her friends were interested in it she could at least have an interest in their interest. She didn't know how close they were to fully functional robots for the school but the idea of fighting them seemed really fun. Lani didn't know how her quirk would affect them, but at this point, her sword was pretty strong and she was looking forward to being able to use it on something she didn't have to worry about the well being of. ulla

Demon Machine i no longer fear ending my hell Nyke timidly waved to Kyla as she showed up, completing their four-person group. They were ready to head out and enjoy the various games that the stalls at the sports festival had before it was time for their event. Even though Nyke wasn't the most sociable person, she enjoyed her time with her friends even if she was just walking next to them. They were each interesting in their own way and each one of them was different. It was fun to watch. So, once they were off, Nyke followed, walking next to Ericka and the rest with her heads held behind her back. Nyke hadn't really played carnival games before, not like the ones the sports festival had. She remembered that there were some at the Kunshu festival, but that was its own mess that Nyke was glad was over. Her father was very worried about her after it happened so she did her best to stay out of trouble. It was difficult to do considering she was in training to become a hero. Hopefully, he would understand that one day. But the topic of her father wasn't really something she shared with her friends. It was complicated and unhealthy. That said, Lani asked about the test Nyke was running for the day and she nodded to the tall girl.
"Yes, one completed."
Her answer was short but the just of it was obvious. She had done a single test so far. The results of it were interesting and she got a lot of good data. She even got some more ideas for upgrading and increasing the effectiveness of her machines. With all the wild and crazy quirks out there she needed to consider all possibilities.
"I hope the school likes them."
And there it was, a fully formed sentence from Nyke's mouth. It meant that she really cared about the test and its success. it was the first thing she thought to do on her own and she was kind of proud of it. It was a brand new feeling and one that she liked. She wondered if this was what her father felt when his company was successful. However, she couldn't divorce herself completely from him in all this. She still needed the company's resources and help to get her project off the ground. As for the gust of wind and the breeze that followed, Nyle didn't notice it. The wind never really bothered her and she was too heavy to be affected by most of it. The odd reactions of the people in the crowd went unnoticed as well, which was odd for Nyke. She was usually the type to watch others and pick out the odd things that they do. However, just this once, she was focused on her friends. It was really her first time having them, so they took up the majority of her attention. She was used to being alone and that was what led her to watch others. But here, surrounded by her classmates, Nyke missed something that could have been important. Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ
