these rapid eyes will keep on moving The time had come and so had Lani. It was Yuuei's first football game and instead of arriving as a player, Laniw as coming as a cheerleader. While she had joined the sports club, it wasn't exactly what she was looking for. Lani was more the type to support others and bring out the best in them. Sure, she could do that as a player, but as a cheerleader, she got to yell and scream as loud as she could, so how could Lani resist that? She was a loud person by nature, so bringing some pep from the sidelines was just her kind of thing. As for the sports club, Lani personally felt her membership was in question. She could stick it out, but cheerleading was her main focus. Maybe instead of being a player, she could help out with the other things the club needed to be done. managers were always kind of important or something right? Either way, Lani made her way to the field with the rest of her cheer squad. She was happy to wear the outfit that was designed for the school. Showing off skin and belly never bothered Lani. She was tall and athletic.
But aside from that, her quirk necessitated her skin showing. Having the light on it really made her feel comfortable even at times when showing off that much made others feel otherwise. Lani was kind of the opposite in that regard. So the crop up and skirt felt right at home with her. She held both her pompoms in one of her hands as they moved to the field and the squad got ready. "Let's get them pumped!" She said aloud, trying to bring some pep to the cheer squad. She was sure some of them were nervous and Lani was perfectly fine with being the anchor they could lean on if the needed it. She exhumed confidence and had plenty to share. And with that, the hastily put together routine started with spelling and a chant. "V!" Lani yelled in unison with the other girls, smiling the whole time. "I C T O R Y!" He continued, moving her pompoms in unison with the other girls and moving down into position. "UA Offense, time to fly!" She repeated. She had to be careful not to add her own colorful language. As much as she didn't care about curse words, the whole point of being a squad was to act in unison. If she added in words it would throw off the timing and the harmonious sound the girls made together as a team. Just this once it was her job not to stand out too much.
"Our defense can't be beat today! Want to spell defeat? Well, then-" As she spoke, she moved next to Farrah. She didn't know the girl all that well, but for this performance, they were going to hoist up Rimma in their pyramid. Being one of the tallest, that didn't seem to difficult and if she was ready, Lani would work together with her to put the third girl up into the air. Otherwise, a simple routine while she spoke would be all that she could do. Lani did notice that Farrah wasn't keeping up as well as Rowan's lead, however. So in an effort to not make her noticeably out of place, Lani adjusted her movements to a medium between Rowan's and Farrah's so that it looked more like a natural progression to anyone in the crowd that might have noticed. "We give you I-Ta-Ga-Ku-En!" It was a pretty clever cheer and ani liked it. Was a great way to rub it in the face of the other team. ulla

Man, Kirk couldn't handle all of these praises thrown his way... It almost felt a bit too much taking that the game hadn't even started yet... Albeit, they were speaking the truth! Leader of the sports club deserves the leaders duties! And he was clearly the sportiest of them all, mwhehehe!~ But a quick shake of his head and quick claps on the sides of his face were all he needed to get rid of that overt pride for now. He still remembered, that he actually had to SHOW his worth to his team. Better not lick the drop before it drops after all.
Cheers were starting to go around, with the cheerleaders proudly exploding into the loudest ones by far. However, the main thing Kirk was taking note of was the confused stare of the previously very anxious guy... "You know! Bumping fists together? I know its no handshake but..." Honestly, he held a brofist in a little bit higher regard than a handshake... So hearing his co-player call him a "sunday quarterback" did hit pretty well. Albeit, Kirk had been with darren for too long, not to know a bit of smack talk himself. Especially in his specialized field: "Only a sunday quarterback?! I train every day!" With a big smile, he punched his fists together, almost to just give himself a bro fist, as the whistle roared, signifying the start of the match!
Kirk locked his eyes onto the ball... a kick backwards, and the angry dude ran forward, as the guy behind him proceeded to launch the ball back to him much further away... Well, he wouldn't be able to pass Elise, that's for sure. The girl was swifter than most players here!
He proceeded to dash forward, watching as Elise connected with him... however, sadly blocking the person wasn't always enough and Kirk had a good look out point for where he might send the ball next... and the guy with a shirt with five on it was seemingly getting ready! "Here we go!" He ran in-between them, as the ball would be passed, when suddenly he leaned backward, with his sneakers screeching against the ground, with one foot spearheading his homerun towards the ball!
If successful, he would continue sledding with the ball a little bit further, before pushing himself up to standing with his hands! "Time for counter, boys! Forward!" He would give a bit of a handwave in igarashis and Darrens direction, winding up his leg backwards, and turning his head in the direction of his kick. "Ryudude!" A bit of an awkward nickname, but in this quick of a battle, he had to say what first came to mind! The ball was launched, and if it reached igarashi, he would continue running forward, preparing as an extra person to pass to if they needed one. If they could score a big goal this early in the game, that should get them to step off of their high horse!
However, if something went wrong, he would start backing down, back to the back lines, to make sure he was in position for any sort of defensive maneuvers.

It was with a smile that Kagawa dashed past the German midfielder after distributing a pass to the side, as the girl immediately ran behind him. It was a good call to keep piling the pressure and prevent him from taking his time to align a shot. Perhaps he would try a first-touch long shot, that’d be a nice way to open the score, especially since that center-back was nowhere to be seen--
Wait, where was the loud center-back?
Kirk, as the loud center-back was called, was running upfield in what could have been a dangerous move, had he not had the vision he displayed right now. Clearly, making him captain had been the right call as he had more on-field experience than anyone. He spied the pass Kagawa would make, saw that the other team’s right midfielder was coming a little late. In the instant where the striker was distracted by Elise, he darted in, and with an in-extremis sliding tackle, managed to beautifully intercept the pass. “Nani?!” shouted Kagawa in answer, a thick Osaka accent coming out for the first time.
And tackling wasn’t the only tool in Kirk’s arsenal, as he immediately got back up and delivered a long pass upfield before the opposition’s midfield could react, calling for Ryuusei as he did so. “Fuck! Y’all, get back!” cried the Osakan striker, his accent really coming out now. Thankfully for him, that was what the team was doing. As the ball was coming on a course towards Ryuusei, and thought he would have the advantage, one of Itagakuen’s defenders came up against his back to contest the trap while the midfield was tracking back. Their right midfielder would be too late, but the other two -- including Ishida -- aligned themselves across the pitch with the defender challenging Ryuusei, ready to follow any late runners coming from midfield. And of course, their second defender was marking Darren, the other striker.
Was it a perfect defense? No defense in football was, but right now, Itagakuen were showing their mettle. They were a nationals-level team, and even their reserves could perform a solid defense while being jeered at by opposing cheerleaders. It required a certain level of mental strength to even be in a Japanese nationals high school team; even if you weren’t a starter, you were training with a starting eleven of kids who almost all dreamed to go pro, a good portion of them would even, and it was up to you to provide them a challenge more adequate than that of a plastic cone. They had been defending Kagawa’s runs and dribbles a thousand times in training.
While Itagakuen’s reserves relied on their star striker and their rising first-year Ishida for most of their offense, they trusted in their defensive prowess. They were gonna show these UA kids that it was not going to be so easy to score on them, reserves or not. (ooc: quick animation as always tactical-board.com/animation/3d0b343dcadf8c_bfuk )

Dreams breathe life into men. The stars... I'll reach them.
Wait, the game had already started? The other team had the ball and they were attacking. With Ryuusei being a striker, what was he supposed to in such situation? He looked sideways at Darren, who was occupying the same position as him but on the other side of the court. Right, he noted to himself. The gameplan as what to do off the ball was set: copying whatever Darren was doing. It seemed to be, at least, a safe bet. So, as the Kagawa guy - the one that Ryuu had bumped into before - was making his way past the resto f the Yuuei FC team, the number 19 on the field moved along the sime line as Daimon Darren, acting basically as a shadow that was cast sideways. Ryuusei Igarashi wasn't really expecting for them to get the ball back. That Kagawa player looked good enough and the Itagakuen team as a whole was way more experienced. Maybe it was because of this that Ryuusei found himself looking at the ground, noting the presence of some female students that were acting as cheerleaders. And the rest of the crowd yelling and cheering. It's pretty full..., he thought. God, what a nightmare that was. Everyone would be looking at him and his name was even in the back of his shirt. That meant that many people present at the game would remember him, pay attention to his actions in some form, whether to give praise or hate. I shouldn't have accepted his invitation...There was no time to drown in his own thoughts - it was the middle of a football match, afterall. While still looking to the distant crowd, a known voice was heard shouting. "Ryudude!"That sounded familiar. Didn't a rock type of creature have a similiar name in some videogame? Probably. Kirk was, however, calling for Ryuusei has he kicked the ball towards him: a direct and powerful pass to avoid any interceptions. What happen next was... interesting. He was still looking sideways at the stands, his body facing the same direction. Perhaps it was his agility, perhaps some kind of small showing of a potential raw talent for playing that sport. But, without really much effort or thinking required, Ryuusei was able to stop the ball dead at his feet without really looking at it - just readjusting his body to the way it instinctively felt that the spherical object was coming. The ball controlled, he turned in the direction of the opponent's goal. Now what? he asked himself. Number 2 was in front of him. Number 20 - I shida - was getting near at the same time as he shortened a potential passing line to Darren. The number 3 was covering the Yuuei's number 9 and Ryuusei was aware of his own lack of ability to make the long pass needed to have the ball avoid the defender and reach Darren's feet inside the box... Wait, was I paying this much attention? In fact, it was weird he was able to read the field like that. It felt like playing chess, like a strategy type of videogame where one must choose the most optimal line of progression in order to win. That was... interesting. Ryuusei had now decided on what we would do, but when he looked down... What? he let out. The ball wasn't there and neither was the number two. Taking a look back, it seemed like the number 2 had simply taken the ball cleanly and was now dribbling past him. If Ryuusei started to sprint there was a big possibility that he could catch up, maybe even getting the ball back or messing with the Itagakuen player dribbling rhythm. But, of course, that wasn't Ryuusei's style: he still didn't like football that much. Well, no point in going after him now, he concluded to himself as he saw the adversary getting further and further away with the ball. Surely his classmates wouldn't mind his lack of effort into helping the defense - or even in overall playing. Notes:1) Ryuusei received the ball extraordinary well, especially taking into account his lack of effort or training;2) Turned fowards, facing the goal;3) Started to remember how the players were distributed on the field but, when decided to act, the Number 2 defender had tackled the ball away from him;4) Had the chance to try and regain the ball. Instead, Ryuu opted to stay still and watch the Itagakuen player freely advance towards the Yuuei FC half.Words: 678.Tags: Darren Blanco II Daimon Darren Elise Von Eisenberg Kirk Bluster Yumi Tasukai Relena Tsuruya Tetsuko Shindou Rowan Sakamoto @eris Jisatsu Keiko Farrah di Prima Melody Miro Lani Bijan

Itagakuen’s defense immediately tightened, a practiced gesture borne of defending Kagawa’s own assaults. The reserve players were not especially confident, but they trusted that their years of practicing football would allow them to stand up to even the top hero students of the country if it was on a football pitch. Their number 19 trapped the ball really well, but the second he saw an opening, Itagakuen’s defender stole the ball from Ryuusei without mercy. It allowed him ample time to set his ball and gather momentum behind his kick for a long pass, back to Kagawa.
The attacker had stayed between the lines to receive just such a pass as his size made him a great pivot. In a real match, he would have headed the ball to a winger, but against this hero school in a sevens game, he easily trapped the ball with a chest control and turned towards goal.
Only their other center-back and their goalkeeper stood between himself and his first addition to the score. With a grin, he looked to his right side, where he would have a more open shot on goal with his stronger right foot, dragged the ball to the right and with a twist of his foot kicked it back left, the elastico, a move made famous by the greatest Brazilian players decades ago, a difficult move that he could pull off at high speed, changing directions immediately after his feint.
Should his feint be successful, he would finally go with the more closed angle and shoot with the left, his weaker foot. Nonetheless, it would still be a very powerful shot, drilled low and aimed perfectly for the left corner, sneaking by the post; a shot only a talented goalkeeper would be able to save. (ooc: tactical-board.com/animation/a92d4471dc4d02_bfuk by the way, I make everyone move to make it look pretty, but this does not mean this is exactly how the players will move. Feel free to contradict the animation in your post if you wanted to run in a different direction while off the ball or something like that. Picture these animations are how the other players picture the action happening, not as how it will happen for sure!)

Damn, their 9 is wound up, thought Darren when he heard his words, facing off with him as his team’s own number 9. He chose to say nothing; this was an exchange between men and not his place to intervene. Besides, he knew Kirk was the type to let his football speak for himself. Itagakuen started off strong, and he was immediately shut off from doing any kind of pressing with a backpass, then a long pass back to Kagawa. Clearly, they were a practiced team.
But of course, Kirk came in clutch and stole the ball back with a smart tackle, and then passed the ball back into their third. “Alright! Pass to me, Ryudude! I’ll score our first goal!” shouted Darren, picking up on the made-in-Kirk nickname. But that would never come to pass. The practiced defense of Itagakuen marked them tightly. Their own midfield was too far back and would be defended by Itagakuen’s if they made a late run. If they didn’t move, this play would be moot. They needed to pass the ball around quickly. Darren made a run, shouted for Ryuusei.
However, it was too late. He pulled off a great trap for an inexperienced player, but he hesitated for too long, nonchalantly looking around for a pass without minding the defender. “Dumbass, defend the ball with your body!!” But it was too late. Itgakuen’s defender subtilized the ball from Ryuusei’s feet and immediately passed back to Kagawa. They made no effort to hide their strategy on relying on their striker’s ability to pierce defenses, and with Kirk having ran up for his interception and pass, he was free to receive the pass in a position for a one-on-one against Relena.
“Relena!! Tetsu!! It’s on you now!!” shouted the delinquent striker as he tracked back, following the offside line drawn by the opponent’s defenders. A quick glance to his side informed him that it wasn’t Ryuusei’s case. A vein drew itself on Darren’s forehead. “Idiot, you gotta track back! You’re useless if you’re offside!” he shouted again. That was exactly what he feared: his friend’s natural talent came with abysmal work rate. “This is football! You gotta run, mate! Look, there’s all the girls watching ya!” he shouted again, pointing at the cheerleaders.
Damn, I forgot we shouted this much in games. Guess that explains why Kirk is always so loud.
The delinquent turned his head back towards their side, hoping not to see a sight of an enemy goal. Itagakuen’s defense had been strong. It was time to show them Yuuei’s own strength. Can’t spell guard without UA, right? (ooc: as this is purely character interaction and not play, this kind of post does not count towards the 3 post limit, just like the cheerleaders one. feel free to make those too if you want to react to things happening in the match while off the ball!)

❝You're showing me colours of the sky, But all I see is Grey❞ 418 w. Football! kenjutsu-f | reinforcement-f | radiant dawn-e The concept of proper sportsmanship was something that Relena believed was a quality of a good player. Kirk was one such person, willing to be on good terms with his opponents. But it was all too clear that they weren't dealing with amiable people here.
Just seeing how this guy laughed in their Captain's face really got under Relena's skin. She wanted to deck the guy right in the face, but she kept to her position as the game had officially started. Being on defense, she kept back close to the goal. For now, there wasn't much that she could do except watch where the ball was going and keeping an eye on the striker or any flankers.
Although she was slightly thrown off guard when she turned to see...cheerleaders? UA had cheerleaders? Huh, this was news to her. But Relena had to admit that it felt good to hear them usher an inspiring speech of victory for them. Relena smiled at the team and turned her attention back to the game at hand.
It all happened so fast! Kirk had performed a clean pass to Ryuusei who...just seemed to let the ball go? Even Relena wasn't sure what was going on until she noticed the one called Kagawa was dangerously close to her and Tetsuko. What was even worse was that the ball was passed easily to him!
Relena made a dash to stand interference between him and scoring a goal. Even hearing Darren calling out her name only added to the pressure and adrenaline that was rushing through her entire body. Being so close to the left, Relena had assumed that he would try to make a play toward the more open right side.
She was right! Kagawa had made his move to the right and she moved to catch him in the act by rushing forward and throwing herself into a very aggressive slide for the ball. It was then that she realized her fatal mistake. She slid right past him as he feinted back to the left in what seemed like an impossible move!
Holy hell! What was that!? She thought to herself. Relena tried to halt her slide, but all she was rewarded with was a scraped knee and elbow as she forced her body to come to a halt. She grunted in slight pain as she squinted her eyes.
"Tetsuko! Heads up!" She shouted. Relena knew it was useless and all she could do was slam her fist down on the ground in anger. Just who were these guys?

It was obvious from the start how skilled the opposing team was, and how determined to win. This wasn't going to be an easily conquered team, particularly with how thrown together their own team was. Despite their strong start, however, U.A.'s own response didn't disappoint either. Tetsuko felt a giddiness inside her with Elise's skillful moves that started their own counter push, leaving Kirk his chance to take the reigns and head forth with possession of the ball!, passing it dramatically off towards Ryuusei!
However, with this, some of the strengths of Itagakuen would then become obvious. For one, thier coordination. Compared to the UA team, this group was a lot more used to playing alongside each other, evident in their defensive ability. There was also their mental fortitude, enough so that they seemingly shrugged off the cheering and jeering of the UA cheer squad. They weren't novices, that much was obvious.
One last thing that would become obvious was that not everyone in the UA team was exactly there because they wanted to be... Tetsuko wasn't about to blame anyone for not taking this match too seriously, given how hard it had been to even form a team, but even then Ryuusei's reactions irked her a bit! Not how he'd handled his role, which was actually quite good for his lack of training, but his decision to remain offside, which was obviously going to annoy any football fan...
It was up to her and Relena now, to resist the opposing charge! The latter girl was obviously not the most experienced herself, but gave an admirable effort to try and steal possession from the oncoming striker. Unfortunately, his footwork was enough to get past her, leaving Tetsuko herself as the last line of defence against Itagakuen. Now or never.
Her knees were bent slightly, her stance about a shoulder's length and her palms ready as she remained light on her feet, her eyes set on the approach and ready to spring forth and intercept. It was time to show him that immovable and steadfast Kashima spirit of hers! With a closed angle thanks to his feint, the striker let loose a powerful and well-aimed shot for the left corner. He certainly wasn't taking any easy options, which meant Tetsuko didn't have that luxury herself. Springing from her legs, Tetsuko dropped her weight down and dived low, reaching her hands out to try and make the save that could hopefully prevent them from an early defeat by this talented high school team!

Of course the feint from a Nationals striker got him past the defender. Kagawa had never doubted his ability to create himself chances against this team for a second. Perhaps it landed him on his weak foot, but that didn’t prevent him from delivering a powerful low driven shot to the near post. It was a goal, no doubt about it. No need to get ready for a tap-in. No way that chibi-ass goalkeeper was good enough to parry his shot.
It turned out, she was. Maybe he would have won in a pure one-on-one, but with Relena’s intervention, it bought Tetsuko enough time to see the shot coming, coil down, spring up and dive with impressive vivacity to the side. She laid across the full length of the goal to catch the ball in-extremis between her gloves. Kagawa’s shot was powerful, but Tetsuko was the immovable heart of their team, their impassable wall, and a pro hero in training. She could take a lot worse. The crowd cheered loudly, and so did their cheerleaders, in all likelihood.
“Motherf--,” cursed the striker. It wasn’t just their captain, they also had a solid goalkeeper. Scoring a goal would prove itself more complicated than he hoped for. As Tetsuko threw the ball back into play, he would shout to his team: “Guys!! I’ll score next time for sure. Bring me another ball! Their defense is good, but their attack ain’t shit! We’ll definitely score if you get me the ball!!”
Their resolve steeled by the words of their regular and de-facto captain, the defense and the midfield of Itagakuen stuck together. If Tetsuko was an immovable wall, they would be the vigilant sentinels, Ishida first among them. As the ball fell to the feet of a burgundy-haired midfielder, he extended his arms. “You won’t get past me, UA! Kagawa-senpai is counting on me!”
His stance was solid and he was ready to stick his foot either to the left or to the right in an instant, and he was good enough to read a feint. The other two midfielders would cover for any loose balls, and there would still be two defenders to get past after them, not to mention the goalkeeper. They may have been reservists, but against this new school, they felt like regulars. They weren’t just defending their goal, they were staking their pride as footballers.
There was one thing in which the rather short Ishida was cruelly missing, however...

Elise couldn't help but grin proudly as Tetsuko caught the ball, with her iron-blooded knight defending the goal she could at least focus on the offense, and as such Elise was already dashing forwards at the same time the ball came flying into her direction! It was a clean trap with the side of her foot as she continued onwards, and yet it seemed an obstacle would be crossing her path, for Ishida was the first to try to prevent her from advancing!
From the earlier spectacle, she could assume that he, just like their captain had a good amount of skill available, likely more experience than most of U.A's own team, so simply trying to dribble past him would be foolish, for it would risk having the ball get caught by her opponent! Nonetheless, Elise had a fair share of tricks up her sleeve also, and while Ishida might had held plenty of experience, he lacked one rather crucial thing to deal with her tactic.
Elise continued to advance, boldly and confident in an attempt to advance toward Ishida. "You're not the only one who has people counting on them!" Elise declared firmly as she prepared her own little 'trick'. As she came close to Ishida she suddenly blocked the ball's path with the heel of her foot and the moment it touched the ball she used the toes of her other foot to grab the ball and push it upwards, attempting to make it arch over Ishida and with the momentary distraction dart past him!
"I didn't practice this trick for nothing!" Elise hummed excitedly as she advanced onwards toward the opponent's side and soon took her chance. "Yumi!" She called out, sending a clean and accurate crossing toward the winger! And yet even afterward she didn't sit idle, still advancing onwards to prepare to assist her team!

(sorry for the wait gang)
Yumi was mostly just trying to keep up with the action. Not a member of the sports club she was a little scared to get into the action but she stuck to Darren's pre-game plan as best she could and handled her area well, making sure her eyes stayed on the ball and she knew when and where to act. Sure maybe for most of the day she'd been feeling like she was just hanging out, waiting for it to come her way, but not much to do. At least until Elise had a hand on the ball. With a call out to her Yumi recognized she was in the game. Her fancy footwork only could get her so far but with Darren's help practicing with her she managed to catch the ball with her foot and started guiding it down the pitch at a good pace.
Still, she knew her role wasn't to travel too far with it, she needed to make sure she played her role well and started looking for a pass. Her amber eyes drifted about the pitch till she managed to key onto Darren...knowing him it probably wasn't hard to even spot him. He'd probably been waving her down before she even got the ball.
She glanced briefly to her feet, remembering the main move she and Darren practiced when he asked her to join his team for the football match, putting her feet to use and calling out. "Darren! All yours!" And crossing over the field towards him. She was a little nervous on the moment, her aim not perfect, but the training had paid off and if it was off it wasn't by much. More than easy enough for a player like Darren to adjust to her mistake.

Our offense ain’t shit, huh? recalled Darren as we watched the football fall onto him. That Kagawa dude may have been more full of himself than Darren was, and that was saying a hell of a lot.
And so far, they proved him wrong. Elise got the ball and executed a rainbow flick to get past the small midfielder Ishida. He was experienced, that much was certain, but in that case it played against him; few attempted these tricks at the Nationals level, where the higher level of competition meant a simple and efficient dribble was often a better choice. Nonetheless, Elise’s trick worked, and she had the presence of mind to pass instead of trying to juke half their offense by herself.
The smooth pass reached Yumi’s feet with delicacy, allowing the other redhead midfielder to get it under her control easily and start dribbling along the touchline. She did not have the best technique in their team, but she did her job nonetheless: carry the ball and pass it before the opposition closes you down. That was the basics of football, and that was enough to create a chance. As a striker, Darren didn’t have a lot of opportunities to participate in the build-up until now; he dropped deep a couple of times to confuse his marker, but he was yet to get his first touch of the game. However, still as a striker, his work off the ball was just as important; he had to make sure he was onside at all times, and ready to barge off the shoulders of the last defender to try and poach himself a ball.
And now, his first chance was coming. As soon as he saw Elise pass the ball Yumi’s way, he knew what to do. They had only really practiced one offensive play with the class president. He knew it was coming. The instant he saw Yumi go for the cross, he started running. No flag was raised; his timing was good, he was onside, and he had half a second a head start on the defender. He cushioned the ball with his chest into his feet; it forced him to slow down enough that the defender could catch up, but that was already too late; Darren was already cocking his right leg back for a shot from outside the box.
“Eat our shitty offense, motherfucker!”
POUM. The football made its usual hollow noise as Darren kicked it with all his strength. It was a daisy-cutter of a shot; low and powerful, scraping the grass in a straight line towards the bottom-left corner. The keeper dived, but he was never going to get there in time. That was it! Their first goal! The first-ever goal of the Yuuei FC! The ball torpedoed towards the goal, and...
CLANG!
It hit the woodwork. Football was a cruel mistress. Still recovering from his kick, Darren could only watch in disbelief and swear in frustration, but the ball was still into play, and in a dangerous area of the pitch. The other defender was running there, but it would take him some time… And the blondie spotted a teammate. He backed into his own defender, using his physical strength to bully the poor guy out of the action. “LAZY! PASS IT BACK!”
Indeed, the ball was going toward Ryuusei. If he deigned to show even a little bit of concern for the game, it would be easy for him to rush there and pass back to the goal-hungry blondie who was making himself so available. But then again, the goalkeeper was down...

You don't need a dream or even a tomorrow Just live
So much was happening without Ryuusei caring that much about it... But hell, he was already in the field and they barely had any players, so it wasn't like he could just leave if he wanted to.
The number 19 of Yuuei FC was just making sure to be side-by-side with Darren while also being behind the line of defense - despite not being the biggest fan of the sport, Ryuu knew the rules and what an "offside" meant. He was basically acting as a type of shadow to Darren, mimicking his movements on the opposite side.
It was because of this that, when Yumi went for the cross, Ryuusei was also in a good position. When he saw the deliquent changing pace and charging ahead towards the Itagakuen box, Ryuu just automatically did the same. If the number 9 was doing it, then copying couldn't get Ryuu in trouble, right?
The defenders focused on Darren. A mix of him being the one about to shoot and of Ryuusei's previous involvement in the game. The other Yuuei striker stopped the ball with his chest, allowing it to die near his feet. And then... and then it was time for a powerful shot: accompanied by one of Darren's taunts, of course.
But, despite avoiding a diving goalkeeper, the ball met the woodwork instead of the back of the net. Unlucky, but not entirely: from there, the ball went directly into Ryuu's feet, stopping in front of him.
“LAZY! PASS IT BACK!”, Darren yelled.
Ryuusei looked at him. He was being pressured by a defender and, covering the line of pass, was another one that was running straight at Ryuusei. The number 19 looked at the goal: empty, goalkeeper still on the ground.
I mean, I just have to kick it, right? he thought.
And then, with barely any effort, he nonchalantly kicked the ball with his prefered left foot. It wasn't that powerful, but it wasn't completly weak: just a normal shot going straight ahead into an open net.
A simple and easy goal... the first of Yuuei FC history. Now this was interesting... Even if he wasn't one to celebrate: afterall, he was just doing his job... a job that he didn't like that much, but still a job.

HEY YOUNG BLOOD DOESN'T IT FEEL LIKE TIME IS RUNNING OUT? She was standing at the sideline, sometimes shaking her pompons, jumping up and down to cheer on the football team! They were doing alright, Rowan did not know too much about the sports to actually form a good opinion, all she knew was that her school mates she could keep the ball and get to the other side of the field. Sounded much easier than it exactly was. She also did not know many of those people yet, yes she had seen them in the hallways but the most familiar people to Rowan were Kirk and Ryuusei and the latter only because he was the vice president of her class.
But he scored!
She jumped up, ready for the yell they made before for this situation, again, shaking her hips, holding up the pompons above her head and yelling loud enough:
"Watch out! Step back! Our team is out for the attack~ We're strong, powerful and bold, remember only champions wear gold!'
She made a cartwheel with someone else from her team, which was now only a smaller part and as she stood still again, she looked quickly over her shoulder to see if Melody was fine, she did not seem to look all too fine when it came to the nausea that just hit her but they would have to continue without her for now. She gave a small thumbs up to make sure before continuing to just stand on the sideline and support whomever would get the ball next from Yuuei.

The group of cheerleaders had grown just a bit more and Farrah had just a moment to ponder whether there entourage was too peppy and energetic, possibly creating an unintended distraction for their fellow students. That didn't seem to be too much of a worry, though, as they quickly sprang into action. Farrah had seen only a handful of soccer matches, which she'd begun studying once she knew she was moving to Japan- "It's international, and it's fashionable!" she'd told her mother- so she could follow the action, but she would be in no position to referee it. As such, she mostly timed her cheers along with the others and with the crowd, kicking a leg here and there, waving her pom poms like she was signaling an aircraft with them, and making a lot of (rhyming) noise as well.
Watching the athletes on the field, it was worth remembering what humans could do even before applying their quirks to it. There was a lesson in there, she thought; perhaps she ought to apply for some kind of sports or training herself. It struck her that this was also the first time that she'd watched any kind of match from this angle, so close to the action on a big field like this. This was just another opportunity she'd received at UA that she wouldn't back home, another thing to be thankful for.
With a goal in hand (or perhaps in foot?), Rowan began to lead the team in another of their cheers. This was Farrah's favorite part; it wasn't often in her lifetime that she got people to join her in loud rhyming. This club was like a dream come true for her! Farrah threw both pom poms into the air in celebration of the goal, then joined in with Rowan's cheer. As she was chanting, she expertly caught her right pom pom, while the left one landed on top of her head. It took her a moment to even realize this had happened, which might say something about how much range of vision her sunglasses afforded her. Once the cheer was done, she took the pom-pom off her head and returned it to its proper place in her left hand.
Farrah noticed that somewhere in that confusion, Melody had disappeared (like a certain invisible cheerleader), but Rowan seemed to acknowledge that as well. For now, Farrah would carry on.
