APPEARANCE AND PERSONALITY
Appearance:
Tsuji is a large brown bear-like humanoid - he used to wear a pair of black-rimmed glasses, but his sight has improved quite a lot in his time at UA. His UA blazer is usually unbuttoned, and he does not typically wear shoes, unless it's for some kind of formal event, in which case they are black and well-polished. Outside of classes, he usually wears a red leather jacket that has a large decal of a river on the back; the sleeves are rolled up, and he wears a white vest underneath. On his right hand, he wears one of his specially-made black fingerless gloves. After his battle during the Fuchu Prison Break, he keeps his left arm exposed: a fully robotic yellow arm. On his lower half Tsuji wears some light grey trousers, which are slightly ripped at the knees. His fur is usually heavily combed and brushed, except for the top of his head, which is styled to look like a slight coif directed to the left. His ears are noticeably darker than his fur, and his nose is fairly large and black.

Personality:
Tsuji Kuma is a very lax and friendly student – as all bears typically should be. He enjoys lounging around in the sun, rain, snow, whatever the weather may be, and is not opposed to having others join him. Tsuji enjoys making new friends wherever he can, and is visibly disappointed when people run from him, thinking that he's some kind of feral creature. His enthusiasm towards others is not nearly as refined as his class skills, however: he's not the sharpest tool in the shed when it comes to learning, but Tsuji tries as hard as he can when it comes to physical work.
Tsuji has strong faith in the new Hero initiative, believing it will help many people and save lives, and he wants to be on the starting line as much as everyone else does. He has contempt for villainy and the absence of morality, but that doesn't mean he necessarily hates the people behind the actions: Tsuji believes that deep down, anyone can be a Hero if they try hard enough, and will often take the iniative to extend the hand (or in his case, paw) of friendship to anyone he can. When the chips are down however, Tsuji is not hesitant to fight for what he believes in, and is more than willing to put himself on the line to save others.

HISTORY
When Tsuji Kuma was born in a crowded hospital in Osaka, it wasn't entirely surprising that his mother, who had a bear transformation quirk, gave birth to a small bear cub, while his father, a quirkless retired boxer, looked on gleefully. As a young boy, Tsuji learned how to handle himself as a bear, often opting to play outside with friends in his local park whenever he could – this would sometimes result in him being late for classes, or missing them outright, but he didn't care, so long as he had friends.
However, not everything was bright for Tsuji, as he soon came to learn that not everyone was happy with him. During his late school days before UA, he was seen as some form of feral creature, with some of his fellow classmates teasing him for his appearance and lack of educational skills, making fun of him via different pranks. Tsuji ignored these insults, not letting them get under his skin (or fur), until one day when he was attacked outright by another student: Tsuji became enraged, and nearly severely harmed his assailant, but stopped himself short as he realised it was one of his old friends from his younger days, and ran home. After a long period of emotional discourse and thought, Tsuji returned the next day, and offered to patch things up with his attacker, and be friends once again, which was accepted. Since then, Tsuji made it a policy to be as friendly as possible to anyone he comes by, and started training to try and become a Hero that could save and fight for anyone and everyone he cares about, and he believed becoming a student at UA would help him achieve that – Tsuji Kuma is a well learned student, and is definitely “smarter than the average bear”.
During his few years at UA, Tsuji has made bonds with plenty of people, setting out what he wanted to achieve ever since that fateful day. Competing in the Sports Festival in his first year, he made friends with international students, and fought some head-to-head in a cavalry battle. He joined with fellow students in a hero internship, earning him plenty of thought towards the kind of hero he should be. Getting stuck in with many friends has helped Tsuji grow from a boy to a man - however, that fateful day when he was such a boy has come back to haunt him in certain ways. During the second Festival he was a part of, abroad in the United Kingdom, he suffered a bout of rage, consuming him against his students. The real Tsuji was blacked out, only learning of this after the fact, during studying of the footage. This darker more animalistic side was something Tsuji wanted to blot out, but it still resides within him, surfacing when he is under intense stress. It almost came to pass once more, however the result of the attack against him cancelled it out - during a mass prison break staged by the villain Ishtar, Tsuji came into contact with Pinocchio, otherwise known as Niso, a high-ranking criminal. The result of this duel was the bear forcibly losing one of his arms, and being out of commission for some time. With some student help, and pulling through with tenacity, Tsuji eventually recovered, now sporting a replacement from the robotics club and support students.
In the future, who knows what lays ahead for Tsuji Kuma? The bad nature lurking within is still untamed, and the villain who removed his arm is still out there - the bear's demons are not gone yet, but it is his duty to try and deal with them the best way he can.
