❝You're showing me colours of the sky, But all I see is Grey❞ 476 w. @xerpaderp kenjutsu-f | reinforcement-f | radiant dawn-e So much had been happening recently in the short amount of time since Relena enrolled in UA that it was all quite overwhelming. She didn't really have anyone to spar with(or rather no one who was interested) so she picked the next best thing. The library was always a nice and quiet place to reflect. So she stopped off at the cafeteria to warm up a cup of tea and snag some cookies before making her way to the library.
Since it was in the afternoon after classes, it was no surprise that there were some other students milling around through the various shelves or studying for whatever exams they may be forced into. Relena wasn't even sure what she was looking for as she aimlessly wandered the large room, shoving a cookie into her mouth to chew at it casually. She had an entire study room at her dorm filled with books, but most of those books were academic. There had to be something interesting here in the...fantasy section?
Relena wasn't one for fantasy. There were too many absurd concepts for her tastes. But, for one reason or another, she was drawn to a certain tome. It was tucked behind a row of colorful books and, in contrast, this one looked downright dilapidated. Raising a curious brow, Relena reached back to take hold of the book. It was dusty and brown and covered in dust. As she blew on it, all the dust spewed outward like a small sandstorm.
"Hm, curious." She mumbled to herself.
Relena looked around, realizing that she had wandered quite far into the back which worried her slightly. But what harm could befall her in the library of UA? Thus shrugging to herself, the girl opened the book. For a split second, she could have sworn that she saw text but it vanished soon after. What could only be described as a pulse of wind shook the shelves around her, as if a miniature shockwave rocked this side of the library.
"Hello there."
The girl turned immediately in the direction of the voice, which came from a table that was tucked away in the corner. It was a masculine voice that came from a hooded figure who sat in the chair in the corner unmoving. Relena couldn't make out the face, but she approached with caution.
"Haven't seen you around here. Anything I can help you with?"
The figure's hood tilted slightly, bringing a gloved finger up to point behind the girl. "All in due time, sir knight. We do not appear to be alone."
Relena didn't feel any animosity coming from this person, but anyone who didn't reveal themselves was suspect. Regardless, she tilted her attention to the person in question that he was referring to.
Wait, did he just call me knight? Wait, did he just call me SIR?

For once, Rimma wasn't visiting with the express purpose of studying. Nor was she looking for recreational reading - though she might peak through a few shelves to see what she might find in that regard anyways. No, today the bundled up red-head was doing as she often did and roaming around the campus grounds in search of new friends to make and potential activities to participate in.
To occupy herself during her search, the Russian girl had a cup - with a lid and straw to ensure no damage came to any books of course! - of hot chocolate in one hand. Tucked under the same arm was a small bag of assorted mochi, all different colors and flavors. Wandering through the rows of tables and shelves, leaving those who were obviously engaged in study or otherwise did not seem like they would appreciate being disturbed in peace, Rimma occasionally shifted her snack to take a sip of delightfully warm hot chocolate before shifting back to retrieve and pop a randomly selected piece of mochi into her mouth.
Whenever it was a new flavor, her gray-blue eyes would widen in slight surprise and appreciation. It was during one such moment, sucking floury residue off of her fingers, that the feeling of being watched caught her attention. A slight turn to the side, and the source was made clear - a fair skinned girl with blonde hair, and hooded figure in a chair nearby.
Unsure as to why she was being stared at, Rimma none the less shrugged it off and simply pulled her hand away from her mouth to give a small wave and a light smile. Mindful that this was still a library, she kept her voice low as she bid them a good afternoon in Russian. "Dobriy den."
Stepping in closer to the hooded figure, the table and the other girl, Rimma gave a slight and polite bow - offering a hand shake at the moment would be somewhat unsanitary, after all. "I apologize if I have intruded on something." She flashed a slightly sheepish smile to go along with the apology, straightening up. For a moment, she peered curiously at the robed figure but no matter how she squinted or tilted her head slightly to one side she couldn't make out anything about them.
So instead, she put their mysterious appearance out of mind - after all, it was not like anybody suspicious or dangerous would be in the school itself - and introduced herself while maintaining a quiet tone. "My name is Rimma Savvaeva Yemelin." She paused to take another sip of her hot chocolate, warding off the chilly feeling that had started to build up despite the numerous layers of clothing she was wearing at the moment. With a slightly appreciative sigh, she concluded by adding. "Though, if you would not be opposed, perhaps I might join you? The more the merrier, no?"
As she made the offer, there was a slightly hopeful tint to her tone.

❝You're showing me colours of the sky, But all I see is Grey❞ 558 w. @xerpaderp kenjutsu-f | reinforcement-f | radiant dawn-e Relena gave a blank stare to the girl as she introduced herself. Between the creeper in the hood and now the girl speaking a foreign language, she was caught between a rock and a hard place. Should she just leave? If she did that, then this weirdo would be left alone with the Rimma girl. Besides, what did he want them to do? Join him in some cult garbage? No thanks. She turned away to leave the library when the man held his hand up.
"Halt! Stay awhile and listen to my plight!"
Relena stopped in her tracks, breathing a harsh sigh of annoyance. She took a sip of her tea while arching her eyebrow in Rimma's direction. What were the two of them getting themselves into? She raised her cup in salute to the red head.
"Alright, well I don't want to leave you alone with Deckard here. So, sure. I'll hear him out."
She crooked her arm through Rimma's and gave her a warm grin as she ushered the other girl in the direction of the man sitting at the table. Wasn't she in Relena's class? Relena herself was still fairly new, but she could have sworn she had seen Rimma around before. Regardless, she was still pursuing her quest to make new friends and Rimma seemed like a very upstanding person. So Relena released her and gave a proper bow.
"It is a pleasure to make your aquaintance, Rimma. My name is Relena Tsuruya and I believe we share homeroom together. I hope to get to know you better. And I...uh..."
Relena glanced over to the man and gave a faint chuckle in his direction. "Okay so you had my curiosity. Now you have my attention. What do you ask of us?"
The man nodded his head, still keeping his face hidden. "Thank you for hearing an old man out. Rimma. Relena. I am dying, you see. I had been trapped in that book since I was a young man...the story had aged me far more than nature intended."
Relena's mouth was agape as the man stretched out his hand and she had finally noticed that it was far more wrinkled and gnarled than even her uncle's! What had this man gone through? "What is this quirk, sir?" She inquired.
He coughed into his fist, wheezing desperately for air and hacking loudly. When he pulled his hand away, Relena could see spittles of blood. "I shall tell you later. But first, would you ladies kindly indulge an old man one final request?"
Relena turned to Rimma with sincere sadness in her eyes. She wasn't sure how Rimma would respond, but Relena herself regarded the old man with resolve in her voice. "What is it that you ask of us?"
He reached under the table and produced a very large box. Upon opening it, he set down a large cardboard standee and plopped down three bags. One was black, one was red, and the third was blue. Relena opened the blue bag and beheld varying sizes and shapes of dice. The man then slid two sheets of paper in the direction of the girls, each had varying stats written upon it.
With a tinge of joy in his voice, the man spoke. "I would like to play one final game. A game of Castles and Wyverns."

The girl she greeted just stared at her for a moment, turning to leave without a reply. The hooded figure was quick to speak up, and the girl changed her mind - and to Rimma's surprise, expressed concern for her well being. One of the bundled up red-heads own eyebrows went up at that, finding the prospect of there being any danger at all in a school library to be absurd.
Before she could comment, though, she found herself being guided towards the table by the blonde - who took a moment to bow, introduce herself and reveal they apparently shared the same homeroom. Rimma's brow furrowed slightly at that, trying to recall if she had in fact seen the girl there before. She sat front and center and put the vast majority of her attention on the lesson being learned, however, so she really couldn't conclusively say she remembered her.
So, with a slightly sheepish smile on her face, Rimma returned the bow with a slight incline of her head meant to imitate a polite bow of her own. "I hope to get to know you better as well, Relena." She replied in a light, friendly tone. Then, the blonde put a question to the hooded man and she shifted her attention to him while sipping on hot coco through the straw of her cup.
Being told the robed man was dying immediately brought a stunned pause to her drinking, her round eyes wide and the straw still resting between her gray-blue lips as she stared. Before she could compose herself and offer condolences, he revealed he had been trapped in a book - something that Rimma couldn't quite comprehend. How could someone be trapped in a book?
As the robed man asked for one last request, Rimma was quick to finally compose herself. Questions and bewilderment could wait, as right now a man who said he was dying wanted something of her. When Relena looked at her with a sad expression, the Russian girl would have a more focused one - forcing a polite smile on her face as she nodded along to Relena's inquiry and added. "Ah, I am sorry to hear that - I will do whatever I can to help."
Rimma's voice had a hint of sadness despite her attempts not to let it show, but as the old man retrieved several items and laid them out she found herself easily distracted by curiosity. Watching as Relena opened the blue bag, Rimma approached the table to take a seat. Glancing down at the paper pushed towards her, the bundled up red-head raised an eyebrow and titled her head as the robed man named his request.
Glancing between Relena and the man, she flashed another sheepish smile before asking. "Ah, what is this Castles and Wyverns? I have not played it before." At the admission, Rimma set her cup down on the table - popping another piece of mochi into her mouth before setting that aside as well. Picking up the page to read it over, she added in a slightly apologetic tone. "Please forgive me if I forget the rules as we go - though I will try my best to remember them."
