The stress of being a student was too much for him. Since his room arrest, a month alone he had been losing his mind piece by piece. No matter what he tried he was determined to better himself but that, simply put, wasn’t going to do much but make his mind ache far more. He had made a cardinal sin come true it seemed, was crucified by his teachers and truly felt alone in the halls of U.A. and now it could all come to a head. Young Taylor was not a man of regret, but now he was a man of heart ache and to put his newest decision simple he was fed up with it all. In the states he had no future, in Japan he had no will. Sure, he may have had decent grades but he was truly alone. He was tired and most importantly he was sick of repeatedly being cast in the same blaring white light of guilt that was always beamed down onto him. He was not meant to be a hero, he was not meant to be a villain he was meant to be nothing, not a civilian, not a man, there was too much pressure and the thumb of the robot masked male only made him shudder with more fear of whatever the future had in store for him. What were they calling him? Crazy? Bad? Evil? Deranged? All he wanted was to be one of them but becoming like them was difficult in it self . The first thing he had done when he got to the school was look for someone to fight, a red flag all in its own. Not for anyone though, he should have seen it in himself. This was all his fault, the reason he had no friend, he had not allies , no rivals, no one to talk to was because he let a slip of his tongue dictate his life and what it was becoming and now with his back at the wall he knew there was only one option left. One chance at salvation, so the teachers could stop suspecting him and his fellow students would no longer fear him. He only had to make a small sacrifice for the greater good.... Taylor had shut his laptop and slid it to the side, he asked a favor of someone he did not know but they were kind and he knew at the very least they could be a better student than him and be a better member of the U.A. community. His only regret was dancing with that girl, had he known he’d be here he wouldn’t have wasted her time. Another regret was all of his training, all the time he put in to learning about his quirk could now fly down the drain. Besides those a last regret would have been hurting chimera... Chimera. Someone who wanted to be his first friend and someone who was willing to open up for him, an interesting lad in Taylor’s eyes but in the end Taylor had crossed him twice too much it seemed thus with a pen and paper the emerald eyed grey would write down a small letter of acknowledgment. I write this out of respect for all who are here at this school. I asks you not to tell my family or let what I am about to do be known to anyone as it is the ultimate sign of dishonor but it must be done as I do not see myself with any future here or anywhere else for that matter.
To all of my classmates I want to apologize, I’ve been on edge a long time ever since I got here and I am sorry I could not provide you all a real friend and someone you could see as a peer. My existence here at U.A. was an interesting one but I hope it will be buried just as I will six feet under.
I have made my mistakes, my mind has gone off of the deep end and I can’t handle the stress and pressure of being a student I am not fit to be a hero but, no one worry, I would never commit evil or harm anyone for that matter. Chimera, I never wanted to hurt you, I do not want to hurt anyone and I do not know why I would present anything like that. Forgive me, I asks you all to forgive me especially you Jaeger sensei, you put your faith in me but I am afraid I let you down...
Oh and Kasey, I’m finally putting something in the recycling this time, might not be what you expect though. Well goodbye everyone! May the teachers make you all great heroes, you’ll all do the school proud.... He’d sign and dot the letter before resting it atop his laptop. Sliding from beneath his desks he pondered for a second, his emerald eyes resting solely on his window as he stood to walk towards it. He’d unlock the hinges and slid it open before looking out to the view he had. It was still beautiful, the forest, perfect blend of green in blue at the sky line it was a peaceful sight. Once he could stare at it for almost an hour before having to pull himself away, it was a fitting last memory and he hoped it’d be one he’d get to play back wherever he went. One leg was raised onto the windowsill and another followed. Everything he did almost felt natural like he was supposed to be doing it thus he’d continue on with it in mind that he likely was doing the right thing. After all, no more stress, no more pain, and no more hurting others with his words.
He jumped down and the wind rushed past his face, it was swift and the first thing he realized was that he'd land on his feet in the bushes just below his window, there was a hard thud his feet planted his torso rolling forward and his body rolled forward as he performed what looked like a choreographed barrel roll out of the bushes. His feet were heavy and he wound up on his beck. His feet were trembling,
He could feel a deep pain in his lower back, he didn't account for the bushes and had they not been there he likely would have been worst injured. HE'd lay beside the brush for a moment before forcing himself to sit up. It wasn't death, but if he wasn't meant to die today he'd have to settle for the next best thing; he'd run away and run away for a long while. He'd force himself to a crawl to the tree line and eventually when the pain in his lowerback subsided he scrambled into the tree line. Where he would go was unknown, would he return to U.a? Perhaps one day but for now he was on his own and he needed to train himself to be a better person.

❝You're showing me colours of the sky, But all I see is Grey❞ 822 w. kenjutsu-f | reinforcement-f | radiant dawn-e Something didn't sit right with her. Ever since they had fought so long ago, Relena felt that there was something eating away inside of a certain angry guy by the name of Taylor Martinez. She knew that there was good in him, but something was holding it back. What was it exactly? Relena didn't have the answer to that and she felt even worse that she had said some hurtful things to him to goad it out. Which didn't work. The girl didn't have many friends at school, but that was also because she was new. Only there for a month or two, but she wanted more. Being isolated for most of her life due to her fear of others, Relena wanted a real friend. Someone who knew how to laugh without care one moment and then want to fight her without abandon the next.
She felt that there was a kinship that could be found in Taylor. Maybe it was time to make amends after their brawl? Thus the girl made her way to the boys' dormitories, walking in with a look of determination on her face.
"Excuse me." She asked a random boy. "Could you tell me where Taylor Martinez resides?"
The boy pointed out the second floor and Relena climbed the stairs, stomping down the hall to come across room 26. Like so many other times, she knocked and announced her name. However, after several moments, there was no answer.
"Hey, Taylor. It's Relena...you know, sword girl? Please excuse me, but I have something I need to say."
There was still no answer. Relena breathed a sigh of annoyance before grabbing the door knob and walking in. She was mildly surprised that it was unlocked, but perhaps boys were less private than girls? These were things that she was unsure about.
Either way, she halted in the middle of the room to take a look around. There was no one in sight! Was he out? No, that can't be. He was supposed to be under room arrest, right? And classes were over for the day. Did something happen to him? Had a villain taken him? So many thoughts were racing through her mind that it took Relena several minutes to notice the letter resting on the laptop. The girl gingerly lifted the note up and began to read it. She felt a little awkward since it seemed to be addressed to a lot of people that she didn't know. Well, she had heard Alex speak about Chimera but she was unaware of who Kasey was. But none of that was important.
Taylor had abandoned the school.
Relena's eyes grew wider the more she read up to the point of her hands shaking. Though it wasn't from fear or sadness. It was out of anger. Anger at the school. At the teachers. But also to herself. Because she was also part of the problem. Just one person saying something can affect another's entire life. That was true for both her and Taylor it seemed. She had heard about the altercation with him and Chimera from the UA chat. Though she rarely joined in, she was usually a fly on the wall. But she wouldn't dwell on what she could have done because that wasn't who she was.
The girl grit her teeth, setting the paper back down on the laptop. She saw the open window and stuck her head out, an incredulous look on her face. "He didn't seriously jump, did he? I mean, I don't know what his quirk is but good god. Well, there's nothing for it I suppose."
Relena put a booted foot on the edge and then used the strength in her leg to kick out into the open sky. She threw her hand out to the air, calling upon the light of the sun to summon a long pole in the air in relevance to where she soon would be falling. She caught hold of the pole and used the momentum to swing her entire body forward, releasing at the highest pivotal moment. Her body went flying through the air and she landed on the soft grass below, tucking and rolling to safety.
Scanning the area, it didn't take an expert to track where he had gone. There were broken branches and scattered bits of flora and fauna everywhere. If she wasn't in a hurry, Relena would have scoffed at how badly Taylor had made his escape. She rose up with due haste and made her way along the obvious path left behind by her quarry.
He must have only left minutes before her since Relena had caught sight of Taylor in the forest with ease. She expected a bit more difficulty from him, but from his appearance... he didn't look too good.
"Taylor!" She barked, hoping that he would stop. "Please stop. If I may, I would like but a moment of your time."

He had to keep moving, no matter what he had to keep moving. Despite the limp in his walk, the pain in his left leg and the blaring thud of a panicked heartbeat throbbed in the back of his head. With wide eyes, he focused on the forest path, desperate to put distance between him and school. Still, with all of the determination he mustered he would only slow up as he ran away and eventually he would come to a near halt as he slowly dragged himself through the foliage in search of liberation. It seemed he was home free till his legs were caught by an unearthed root causing him to fall face first into the dead leaf covered ground of the forest. “Shit,” he swore under his breath, trying to pick himself up. Just barely on his knees he leaned over in rest. His hands pressed against the forest floor, fingers crunching leaves under them. Once again he swore under his breath, cursing himself for being weak, stupid and a few other things in Spanish best not translated. Taylor’s mouth pursed, his eyes shut tight and he shook his head. This entire journey had turned into a disaster, not only did he not have his family anymore but now he had lost the only chance he had to make friends in Japan. Then again, as he stated in his letter he did not need anyone, or rather, everyone was better off without so why would that matter to him? It shouldn’t have. Crushing leaves in his fingers, he began to dig his hands past them and to the soil below. Not long after his first touch he could feel the shaking and shift below. For some reason, this feeling from his quirk would calm him from his thoughts and allowed him to take a moment to study his surroundings. It seemed he had made it only so far into the woods now. “Maybe I can rest for a bit before I keep going,” he muttered the words to himself as he crawled through the cold, damp ground to a tree just a few feet away from him. He’d rest himself there, sitting with his back to it, leaning his weight onto the trunk as he tried to relax. At the moment he had begun to think about just how far he had come away from the school, at his pace and the fact it had felt like he had been limping for an eternity like he had been limping for hours. Sadly for Taylor, his lack of perception would bite him in the butt as footsteps over crushed twigs and fallen foliage would come onto his train. Panic once again shook his form, his eyes widened his teeth sinking into his withdrawn lower lip as he waited for the predator to approach. It must have been a teacher; or what if it was serperior? They were all on the side of the others, likely here to put an end to a troublesome student before he turned into a villain. He had never imagined himself to have a death like this, killed by those who were supposed to educate him, help him and all. That said, he did betray the school in his actions, frightening other students and pretending to be something he wasn’t. That was right. He made attempts to seem smarter, thus he acted more cruel, like a know it all to his fellow students hoping that’d make them like him more but in the end he only ended up driving them away from him further. More random thoughts were clogging his mind as the stranger got closer, they had come fast he could have sworn he had been running for what felt like hours but in reality, it was only a few minutes of limping. “damn my luck” he spoke his second tongue with a plea to his oncoming attack. Though once the figure came into being he hadn’t laid his eyes on a teacher but another student more specifically Relena Tsuruya the girl that had flipped him in his first martial arts class. At first sight of her he didn’t speak he’d only try to run forcing himself up in a hurry and turning tail only to be staggered by her words. “You want to talk?” he looked back at her, sharp eyebrows raising and mouth curled downwards. His hands pressed against the bark of the tree, he’d use it as support as he turned to see the girl better, “But why? Have you not heard from the others? I’m a menace, I’m not fit for U.A. and everyone already wants to kick my butt. I am sorry, if you, like everyone else wants to beat me to a pulp all I asks is that when you’re done with me you’ll-” he wouldn’t get a chance to finish, his left knee finally buckling and giving out forcing him onto his knees before the blonde. The pain, the stress, and what he thought to be a coming end were too much for him and his eyes shut, he could at least hide his emotions before his end.

❝You're showing me colours of the sky, But all I see is Grey❞ 488 w. kenjutsu-f | reinforcement-f | radiant dawn-e Relena looked Taylor straight in the eyes as he let out what he had been holding inside. It was akin to what he had written in the letter and she could feel the sorrow flow freely through his speech. Did he truly believe that? Did Taylor actually think that he was a menace?
Her eyes grew sharp and narrow as the wind began to pick up, billowing around and kicking her skirt around with it. But the girl did not flinch. She stayed perfectly still with emerald eyes lit up with so much emotion trapped inside of them.
"Taylor, did you ever consider that...you were the one who was always picking a fight? I didn't come here to fight a menace. I came here to save a friend. I-TAYLOR!"
She saw him fall down to a crouch and the pain was evident on his face. Relena kicked her feet into action, running at full speed to close the gap between the two students. As she raced forward, she felt the weather grow quite nasty. Rain sprinkled down slightly at first, but as Relena neared Taylor, it was coming down pretty hard.
But Relena didn't care. She disregarded the chill in the air as she skidded to a halt in front of Taylor and bent down to wrap her arms around him.
"You really are hopeless, you know that right? You aren't a bad person. You're just...a kid. Like me. We fuck up and we adapt. It's called life."
She pulled herself back to breath a sigh in his direction before maneuvering herself to sit down along the tree next to Taylor. There was silence hung delicately in the air between them before Relena lifted her arm up to the sky. It soon dawned on her that there was so much adrenaline racing through her body that her mutation had been causing her to glow immensely! And with the clouds covering the sun, the expended energy was not recharging her organic solar battery.
"Hey Taylor." Her eyes were growing heavier as she grew tired by the minute. "Don't give up on UA. Don't be that guy, you hear? We may all suck sometimes, but we forgive one another. And that's what you need to do."
She gave a warm smile to him as her head rested against the tree. "Because that is what it means to be a hero. To stand up for what you believe in. Now...if you don't mind, I'm too tired to argue any further."
As Relena pushed herself forward and onto her feet, she wobbled unsteadily. Her head was beginning to swim as she arced her head back. "Come on, I can't make it back by myself. So, at the very least, you could be useful as my crutch."
She chuckled at that and reached her hand out to the battered and beaten hero in training before her. "What do you say? 1-A for life?"

The pain had been weighing down on him far heavier than the oncoming rain. The person that had come for him did not offer scolding words, nor were they full of ridicule but instead the girl gave off an air of worry. If he didn’t know any better he would have thought she was there because she cared for him. Of course, he fought the thought as soon as it presented itself, her words before his collapse rang in mind. She called him her friend and she reminded him that he was the one who would often pick his fights. It was true, he picked his fights and he never did so well, that said he wouldn’t get to reflect on them as he felt a pair of arms wrap around him. It was an unfamiliar feeling to him, the warmth of another person in his presence and the heat was not from a quirk but from an embrace. An embrace like none he had felt before. In retort to her attempt to hold him steady, he’d grit his teeth, the feeling of a ball forming in his throat choking him up as his right hand grasped the cloth over her back and held on tight as he struggled to register what was happening. It could have been called a returned a one-armed hug. The best he could muster in his muddled state. He’d listen to her words the first reaction being another new feeling for him, deep regret. A bead of water formed at the corner of his right eye, it was a transparent little drop that was masked by the rain but had it not been for the cover of precipitation it would have been evident that Relena’s kindness had brought him to tears right then and there. It was the same thing he had been hated, he fought on a constant basis but even with the fall of just this one tear, his sorrows were beginning to fall from his shoulders. Luckily for him, she would let him go and likely didn’t notice the waterworks he was desperately fighting back. The silence swept over them for a moment. She would speak again, by then he had managed to force himself to wear a grimace, not at her but at the ground as he tried to muster up the courage to speak to her. After her first few words, he’d stare at her again, the initial expression being a near forced smile before he’d notice her glow. The blonde would shine in his eyes, she looked radiant almost angelic: He couldn’t have been fooled if she really was an angel sent to stop him from further ruining himself. As she spoke on he would notice her eyelids drifting shut and in almost instant fashion worry would creep onto his features as he noticed her push herself forward. Did she really risk exposing herself to such risks for him? That was it then, if she was going to be kind, be like this: He would return the favor. When she stood he would too, but he wouldn’t give her an answer to her motivational words, though they would work all the same. He teetered for a moment after taking her hand the pain was still evident in his leg and both of them shook, but he would force himself to stand up straight, still holding onto the girl’s hand and in a move that likely wasn’t good for his current physical state he’d sweep the girl off of her feet, his right arm beneath her legs, his left wrapping around her shoulder with a firm grip. The pain in his leg surged upward, but he wouldn’t show it. Instead, he’d look down at her and for the first time in a long time flashed her his goofy grin. He stepped forward, the first step was shaky but he forced himself onward, He’d limp a tad, but he forced himself to press forward. “Thank you.” he swallowed the lump in his throat, “1-A for life.” his path would take them out of the forest, but not to the boy’s dorm. For all that she’s done for him, he could make a go of taking her to her room to properly rest. She’d have to excuse his words, as he was using most of his energy to walk, his body was already running on fumes. “You’re a good friend Sword Girl Relena Tsuruya .”

❝You're showing me colours of the sky, But all I see is Grey❞ 313 w. kenjutsu-f | reinforcement-f | radiant dawn-e She was tired. So very tired...her eyes felt so heavy but she needed to keep vigil. Now was not the time to pass out, since Taylor needed her. The girl would not leave her fellow classmate at the mercy of the elements, even if it meant that she would suffer for it later. Relena drew in a deep breath and let out a very concussive sneeze, which caused her to lose balance. Oh jeez, I'm falling!
The girl squeezed her eyes shut tightly, waiting for the impact of the fall. But instead, what she felt instead was...a hand? Wait, what was going on?
"Woah!" She called out, eyes widening as Taylor began to carry her in the direction of the school. She sneezed three times in quick succession, the last one spraying Taylor in the face.
Relena wiped at her nose. "Sorry."
She felt miserable. The girl hated to admit that she was not accustomed to sickness, since she rarely had the misfortune to suffer such an ailment. But with overdoing her internal battery and standing out in the rain, she was incapable of proper motor functions.
"Thanks, Taylor. Just take me back to the Girls' dorm and set me on the couch. My friend Saiko should be there playing video games...I'll bet she can make me some soup."
As to what would happen to Taylor, she was unsure how he would continue his time at UA. But Relena could only hope that he would keep striving in the proper direction...to become a hero someday.
"Hey Taylor, I think it would do you some good to talk with Serperior. I remember you mentioning in the chat that he was trying to help you...and he's a great Pro. Please reach out to him or some other teacher. You don't need to be punished. You need direction and that's what they are there for. 'K?"
