RISAKA REINACHTU.A Student / Miss Gray
''Everyday I ask myself if I even should bother'' words 513 • tagged @ • notes | It was already past the school hours in Yuuei Hero School. One thing students usually do after long hours of educational sessions is to take a well deserved break and continue with their hobbies. In Yuuei that sort of thing was exceptionally easy to do for those who lived in the dorms rather than outside of school ground. If Risaka hadn't moved into the dorms she likely would've been still walking outside of school walls back to her apartment, she remembers the unbearable distance she had to walk before, but with more time in her hands she felt almost overwhelmed. The club she visits isn't even active everyday, so during the days she does not have assignments to do nor club activities to attend to she spends the time in the study halls, or more specifically, the library.
First and foremost her biggest reason to even spend time in the library is because of just how peaceful it can get, she truly enjoyed when it was silent, but then again she often enough put on earbuds listening to her favourites, although those favourites of hers was off-limits for others to know about. She was secretive and preferred to have her own stuff attended by herself. But with her monochrome body it was easy to get the attention from strangers, so for that reason she always spent her time furhtest possible inside the library, in a corner with high shelves filled with crime books. She wasn't a particular fan of written fiction, but after spending time in that corner she had gotten her curiousity to read a bunch. The logic and set up each story told her captivated her and quickly became the genre of choice, she liked to read so it was a massive win at her part, it wasn't everyday she had the chance to find something to occupy her mind and lock her away from the world.
Today she was yet again all alone in the corner, it was the first time she came back to it after the bothersome military incident she got herself into, but being back into safety had her to read about a book purely about modern war crimes, a story about how a man lived his life after running away from his crimes in World War 2. She had already spent an hour or two in her lone corner with a small stack of ice coffee cans, one currently in her hand and her feet laying against the edge of the table comfortably. For her, right now, it was a complete bliss, and behind the bookshe held up was a very faint smile that she has probably never shown to a stranger. With music in her ears and her eyes locked on the words told to her she was completely mentally isolated from the outside world. Taking another silent sip from the can of ice coffee she began to hum a bit, not by choice but more or less instinctively.

❝You're showing me colours of the sky, But all I see is Grey❞ 399 w. kenjutsu-f | reinforcement-f | radiant dawn-e Relena truly felt blessed to be able to live in her room mate's study, considering the variety of books that Kimiko had on hand. In Relena's spare time in between cleaning and cooking for the bossy girl, she perused through the various tomes with great interest. Although she had to admit that the selection was a little too...non-fictional. Not that this was a bad thing, since knowledge was a powerful tool that should never go to waste! But a little bit of junk food for the brain never hurt, right?
She particularly enjoyed reading stories of the shogunate from the east and noir from the west. Today felt like a old timey crime story kind of day as Relena finished up her chores, diligently completed her homework, and booked it to the library. She had never gone there before and with the late hours, there was no doubt that the place would be a ghost land.
Once Relena opened the doors to the room, her eyes lit up and she couldn't help but smile. It was clean. It smelled nice. But most importantly, it was so quiet. The girl closed her eyes for a moment to take in the bliss that came with the newfound discovery before finally clapping her hands slightly against her face. Okay, so if I were the noir section, where would I be?
She perused up and down the aisles with a curious expression plastered on her face. There were so many books that she felt overwhelmed! Even her uncle's small library didn't have the same level of quality that UA offered. Eventually she had come across a section in the fiction area where there were crime novels stacked high. A little too high for Relena's short stature. As she spotted one of particular interest, she reached up while strenuously stretching her arm out. She grit her teeth in frustration as she swiped at the novel, but couldn't quite reach it. Relena crouched down, building physical anticipation in her legs, and made a desperate hop for her quary.
"W-Woah!" She called out.
Relena, standing on her tip toes, had lost her balance and tumbled forward. Her entire weight had crashed into the stacks, sending the books careening and the coffee cans scattering messily onto the floor. Relena herself gasped in shock as she landed awkwardly on to...another person who had been hidden underneath the pile.

| ◀ | The heart is a heavy burden ❤ If she would have a few days off, Rowan would want to have a few more books in her house. She had decided that she would read books where she could get her hands on and perhaps take a few from her home. Her own apartment didn't have so much because most books were at her parent's house. She was very curious to see what they had still, she had seen a lot of books with Nick and he had said a few books that she wanted to try, apart from the one she had already. Maybe she would read that one again.
She headed over to the library when she heard a loud crashing sound that she could not describe at first until she decided what was going on. Oh, who cares, it is just books tumbling over, I would care more about the books than about the people in the library.
Rowan did not why the Burning Lady her voice was getting louder and louder in her mind, she thought actually that she was doing well. She was making friends, she was... her mind wasn't even able to finish the sentence when she thought about her recent meeting with Nick and she blushed. She only did not look forward to go home and see her father. She started to hate him even more now that she was gone, and where she learned why and why she did not want to see him again.
She had to consider to hurry up, considering the noise she heard. She opened the door of the library and stared at the strange standing bookcase. There were clearly books missing, "Everyone okay?" She said as loud as she dared because even if it was important, it felt strange to speak loudly in the library. She wanted to see what she could do and walked around to the bookshelf to see the blonde she had now seen twice before, during their accident underground where this girl eh... Relena headed off with Jasmine and she had seen her during Quirkball, in her team. Thanks to Relena being in her team, she remembered her name. "Are you okay, Relena-san?"
We only came to pick up books, not sad people. |

RISAKA REINACHTU.A Student / Miss Gray
''Everyday I ask myself if I even should bother'' words 572 • tagged @ • notes | Risaka was getting to a real good part, the last stand of the veteran, the crimes weighing a million times more than others could imagine, now hunted and seen as a monster. It was an exciting part that spoke how life could change in a matter of span of days, how an individual once had skin like stone and blood like ice turn into warmth, someone that wanted to correct his crimes and misdeeds. It was extremely rare of Risaka to be into something this much, she was caught in the pages and forgot to finish her can of ice coffee in her hand, she didn't even hear the music anymore as everything around her became... none.
But something felt wrong, a motion, a drift of mass moving behind her. She didn't have a sixth sense or anything nor did she have the ability to watch her very own back, but the shelf behind her was clearly moving, and the first that got to strike her was a very big and rugged book. It slid off the top of the shelf and landed right at her head with a powerful impact. The moment it hit her shattered the silent world around her like glass and her eyes widened with pupils shrinking from the shock.
''GHRRK!''
She was only able to make an irked noise from the pain before the wave of books rained down upon her. She got pushed down and broke the table on the go. With pale eyes she was under the pile of books with a pained expression, one eye twitching from this very tight position. ''W-wh-what the hell just came down..'' She thought to herself as she tried to move her body, but god damn was it heavy, but she felt some motion on the top of the pile, a girl? Did a brat just dig her own grave? Risaka gritted her teeth and an angry mark popped on her forehead when she heard another girl calling out someone. Relena? Whoever this Relena was she was about to have a very rough time. It was once she felt an opening to move her forearms, using this opporunity she activated her quirk very briefly, her eyes flashing the bright topaz yellow coloured shade. All the books on her got all grayscaled in a flash, with a bursting force in her body she easily powered through the pile of books by standing up, pushing anyone who was ontop of the pile. When emerged Risaka stood there for a second, in the colours of many old books and it's covers, she stood tall at 182 centimeter and turned her head a bit to the side to eye at both Relena and Rowan, giving off an intimidating gesture.
''You fucking...'' Before she could finish her sentence Risaka quickly realized the book she was very much into was not in her hand anymore. Now drastically looking around. Then she found it, outside of the pile, likely tossed when hit by the first book. But the worst part... the unfinished can of ice coffee had landed on it and completely drenched it. ''....AAAAACK! NOOOO!'' It didn't take her a second to get over to it and kneeled down, her hands shaking and fingers twitching in shock, the pages all ruined. ''T-the story...'' She was incapable of speaking out, a gloomy atmosphere fell upon her, which felt twice as heavy compared to the book pile. |

❝You're showing me colours of the sky, But all I see is Grey❞ 469 w. kenjutsu-f | reinforcement-f | radiant dawn-e Caught up in the shock of the fall, Relena lay completely and utterly frozen on top of the fallen bookshelf. She could have sworn that there was a sound before the fall akin to a person, but Relena was too caught up in her own world to notice. Her eyes were like saucers as the thought dawned on her: "I am in so much trouble..." There were books scattered everywhere! The only solace was that the library was empty and that there was no one to see the...
Relena's heart skipped a beat at hearing her name being called as she turned her head around in a slow, stilted fashion. Standing near the wreckage was one of her fellow class mates from 1-A of whom she encountered a couple of times. A pleasant person met during an unpleasant situation. Relena forced a smile while awkwardly rubbing the back of her head, still splayed out on the shelf.
"Y-Yes, I'm fine. Thank you, um..." She furrowed her brow for a moment to recall the other girl's name. "Sakamoto! It's good to see you again, although you seem to have caught me in a rather frustrating-"
Her words were cut off as a strange series of sounds came forth from underneath her and Relena was flung to the side from an unknown force. She rolled off to the side as a girl literally burst out of the shelf like it was nothing! Relena crashed onto the floor near Rowan and used the momentum to twirl her body around into a kneeling stance. Oh dear god. She thought to herself in terror. There was someone under there!? Oh jeez, is she alright? Should I...Her thoughts trailed off at the sight of unadulterated rage exuding from the girl. What was strange was the myriad of colors that haphazardly meshed all along her figure. Was that how she looked or was it her quirk? Relena couldn't really tell and honestly it wasn't what was important at the time. It was understandable that she was mad, but at the time Relena felt more concern for the girl's safety rather than fear.
Her guilt was piled on even more at the sight of the girl rushing forward to claim a book that had been tossed away from the mess. A book that had been ruined beyond redemption. Relena slowly rose up to stand, taking a small and shaky step toward the girl. She took a quick, unsure glance back at Rowan before bringing her attention to the victim of the incident.
"Hey, um...I'm really sorry." She murmured. "I didn't see you and I just, well, I wasn't thinking."
She bowed her head down low to the ground in a sign of regret, but somehow Relena figured that a simple apology wasn't going to cut it.

| ◀ | The heart is a heavy burden ❤ The lot of noise that Relena must have made was quite loud and yet it surprised Rowan that no one had come in storming like her yet. She was close by so that happened to be a coincidence, albeit she remembered no one else in the hallway. Maybe she was much zoned out or maybe... no, she was sure she had no blackout at this point. She took a deep breath and looked at Relena so that she was paying attention to the situation. "What happened?" She asked in the middle of Relena her short reply because yeah this was a frustrating moment but she was too quick and the reason that Relena stopped talking was not that she was lost for words. Rowan who stood not on the pile of books and not that close at Relena because she had avoided stepping on the place stared with a raised eyebrow at the situation. Her facial expression might not show much. It was her father that taught her that.
Her thoughts inside where stumbling over one and another to make up what she was actually seeing, there was someone under that! A bookworm for sure. She did not know the girl whose colours looked a bit odd, her eyes were interesting but Rowan only stood to stare at her, now she seemed to be looking at something, probably a book and she looked around herself as well. It reminded her of her first weeks here, where she immediately had gone to the library, at least she was not that shy anymore or well shy wasn't the right word. All the first meetings she had been an idiot. Relena's meeting had maybe gone better as she had not been alone.
When she heard the pain cry from the girl with the odd colour spectrum, where did you buy clothes like that? she followed her with her eyes and looked shortly at Relena to follow the other girl to see what she was crying about it, in a matter of speech that was. "Ehm, I can't get the coffee out, but I can try to dry the pages if you want?" She didn't want to mix herself in the issue, after all, she had just arrived and she wasn't sure how angry this girl was. She rubbed her right hand against her hip to heat it up, she would simply wait for an answer, this would be a new thing to try out. She had also read about something how to restore a book, she needed a newspaper. |

RISAKA REINACHTU.A Student / Miss Gray
''Everyday I ask myself if I even should bother'' words 518 • tagged @ • notes | If it weren't for the fact this was a library Risaka could very easily go on a small venting session with the blonde individual, the tall girl wasn't exactly the nicest of gals. Granted the library, or at very least the spot they stood on, was a mess so Risaka didn't feel like causing anything worse regardless. However anger was built within her mind, and the kind words of Relena did nothing other than putting a plaster on a shattered glass plate. Her words and intention did not reach the monochrome girl's, which lead to her standing fully up, using her own height to look down at Relena with a ratehr menacing one eye glare. ''Eeeh? Didn't see me you say? Of course you didn't see me, I was on the other side while you idiotically pushed god damn shelf on me...'' Risaka enchanced those last words as if she was ready to serve a dish of execution, but she merely had picked up the empty can that soiled the book. Holding it within her hand she slowly crumbled it as if it was literal paper, just standing still with her gloomy yellow eye piercing at Relena. ''But naive people make mistakes like these right? It's only natural, but naive or not, I am expecting a full repay... And I do NOT wanna finish my book online so I better see a fresh copy by the end of this week!'' Risaka weren't about to let poor Relena to go free, because when Risaka got angry she easily turns into a tyrant until she is satisfied.
She made her demand and sighed out a grunting noise, eyes clenched with a clear showcase of her annoyed state. While going into a deep thought she deactivates her quirk, making all the colour she absorbed from the books drip off her body as if it was water. Hitting into the ground and seemingly fading away until she was showing her complete grayscaled body. ''Even if you 'somehow' fixes the book it will look ruined and smell god awfull, it won't be the same.'' Angrily stating towards Rowan who she did not know either, infact Risaka had barely been interacting with the other classes so to her these two was a complete nuisance for her. Crossing her arms and making sure her eyecontact with both of them did not break, even if she got a fresh copy of the book right now there was still a mess to be cleaned up, and her stuff was underneath that pile. ''Egh, god dammit, why did my alone time has to be wasted on this, you two! You better assist on cleaning this chaotic mess up! The quicker the better!'' Risaka opened her crossing arms and clenched her fists for them to rest on her hips, looking somewhat determined. ''I will personally report you for this mess!'' And without further ado the monochrome gal huffed out, kneeling down and picked up books from the pile. She clearly ignored the fact Rowad had nothing to do with this mess, she just wanted this out of the way. |

❝You're showing me colours of the sky, But all I see is Grey❞ 392 w. kenjutsu-f | reinforcement-f | radiant dawn-e Relena gave an incredulous look over at Rowan for support. She was unsure what protocol dictated in a situation such as this, but she felt a little better knowing that her class mate was here as a witness in case things got...dicey. It was also nice of Rowan to offer to dry the book out, but it was far too gone now. There was nothing to be done for it and that made Relena feel all the more guilt ridden. Was there nothing she could do?
She just stood stock still, eyes widening as Risaka crushed the can in anger. Hopefully she wasn't imagining Relena as the can. But then, to her surprise, Risaka seemed to mellow out ever so slightly. She demanded a copy of the book, which seemed fair to Relena, so she approached the ruined book and picked it up to examine it. It was indeed ruined beyond comprehension, but the title was still intact. Relena committed it to memory and spun around on her heel to face Risaka.
"Very well, ma'am." She proclaimed, squishing the wet tome against her chest. It made an inappropriate squishing sound as Relena bowed in over dramatic fashion. "I shall embark immediately on this mission you have set before me. I am truly humbled by your grace and kindness toward my uncouth behavior."
As she stood her body back up, Relena's brow raised slightly at the change in Risaka's appearance. Her body was now completely grey, as if she were from an old 1920's cartoon or...a noir show. Despite herself, Relena let out a squeak of excitement.
"Woah, that is so cool! Is that your quirk!? That is quite amazing!"
Relena awkwardly coughed in her hand at the embarrassing change in her mood after still realizing how angry the other girl probably was. Now was not the time for praise or geeking out. Especially after she was ordered to assist in cleaning up the mess. So Relena just breathed out a dejected sigh before looking back at Rowan once again.
"I am deeply regretful for all that has happened here." She gave a click of her tongue as she bent down to pick up a couple of books to stack in her arms. "You can go about your business if you'd like, Ms. Sakamoto. I don't believe I deserve your kindness, after all."

| ◀ | The heart is a heavy burden ❤ Some people could be so overdramatic. Okay, it was probably not the most fun to have books tumble over you and someone fall on top of that even or whatever had happened because Rowan missed that but considering this one jumped up from underneath the book pile, anything but pleasant. But what more did you want than an apology, they could not turn back time unfortunately and well it was too late. Of course, Rowan did agree with buying the new book. Because that was normal right, if you ruin something, you had to fix it and if that was the only way then so be it. Also, she looked at Relena answering with not understand her way of talking, where did she come from... your grace and kindness? Kindness? What kindness, she had been roaring like a dinosaur. This wasn't her battle and she just wanted to help with picking up the books and placing them back because well, she was here now so why not but she simply looked from one to the other. Her eyes only remained on Risaka when the colour drained away from her, what the...
Okay, she was getting more used to quirks but this was a whole new thing... That girl was grey but how and no, not how but how did it work? She felt her jaw clench when the now colourless girl talked to her as if she was a maid or something. How dare she, it was not her fault. She was about to say something but Relena spoke to her first. "Don't worry about it Relena-san, I would love to help. Unlike some other beings who could ask nicely, especially people who have nothing to do with it and thus don't deserve the anger or arrogance from the situation. But who am I to judge that." She said it on purpose so loudly, she did not like how this grey kid spoke to her but she picked up a few books for Relena's sake and put them on the shelf back. |

RISAKA REINACHTU.A Student / Miss Gray
''Everyday I ask myself if I even should bother'' words 606 • tagged @ • notes | A minor anger mark pops on Risaka's forehead from hearing the comments from both ends. Why was the blonde girl so submissive to this situation? And with the way she talks only gives the monochrome girl a shudder of disgust. ''Uhuh, yeah don't compliment on something so minor... and don't tell you're sorry for every ten second, just focus on cleaning this up..'' Risaka had no intention on taking advantage of Relena's lack of backbone, and with the other girl around they both seemed to be quite close, are they together? If not, then why are the brunette so fixated on staying around despite her own comments? It honestly angered Risaka bit, people whining to end up not doing anything with it.
''It would be alot better for the situation if you two focused on cleaning this mess up, last thing I want is to get blammed by some damn teacher or worked in this chaotic school.''
It wouldn't surprise Risaka if she were the one getting pointed fingers at her, she was used to people randomly blame her for things, main reason being that most of the time she had taken some colour off the scene or nearby, in other words a careless assumption from the opposition. But even after everything has been cleaned up most books were curled or squeezed by the weight of the pile, so sooner or later some bigot will jump on the gun when seeing the aftermath. ''Can't believe I am spending time on this, everyday something like this happens, god I wanna punch through a wall right now...'' Thinking for herself she dwelled into her mean thoughts, picking up the many books with an angry motion with clenched teeth before her lips. But soon enough with enough effort from all three parties the books had been put back into the shelf. it wasn't perfect, but as if she was able to remember where everything originally stood, it all are crime anyway under the crime tag of the shelf so who cares? With the books out of the way she firmly flipped the chair back up with her left heel, her bag had been under the pile aswell so she flung it up to her arms with her right foot, opening it up to make sure everything was fine inside. Of course it wasn't, her homework she had done was all crumbled and half torn from the impact and weight.
''Gnnnhrk...''
She truly wanted to yell out at Relena, but she felt way too down and lazy to even muster out a complaint. She instead swung her bag over her shoulder and gave both Relena and Rowan a mean glare. ''.... I suppose you two did a good job cleaning, but for you lil blondie, I am expecting you at the end of the weekend.'' She had toned her voice down to a semi-emotionless state, making sure Relana wouldn't forget a sight such as this tall monochrome girl. ''And you brunette, try not to ''stumble'' into messes that doesn't involve you, I do not take lightly of nosey people.'' She got to say everything she -needed- to say, she didn't wanna chit chat around anyway so the less the better. Turning her back away from both she didn't bother to wave or give any form of farewell other than silence, walking out of the door of the library and back to her dorm where she could be alone and relaxed, cause lord almighty was it hard to be get alone time outside of her room. |

❝You're showing me colours of the sky, But all I see is Grey❞ 334 w. kenjutsu-f | reinforcement-f | radiant dawn-e Once all of the books had been put away, Relena let out a defeated sigh. Even though everything had been cleaned, for the most part, it seemed like something was amiss. It was most likely the fact that the books weren't properly organized, which bugged her to no end. But there was also the damage to the shelf...
"Well, I suppose this will have to do." She murmured.
When Risaka spoke up, complaining about how Rowan and Relena were talking too much, the girl puffed her cheeks out to keep from saying something. She had already apologized and was willing to make amends. What more did this grey girl want from her!? No no, calm down Relena. No need to be hostile. After all, this was your fault.
She released the air in her mouth loudly as Risaka gave her final proclamation before exiting the library. Relena gave a sour look at the door before giving a lop sided grin to Rowan.
"Heh, I suppose you can't please everybody. Regardless, I appreciate you stopping to help."
Relena reached down and picked up a book from the floor, grinning happily. "Oh, it appears I found the book I was looking for." It was the one that clonked Risaka to begin with.
Clutching the book in the crook of her arm pit, Relena reached out with both hands to clasp Rowan's hand. She bowed her head to her class mate with respect. "I am glad to have one who is so kind in my class. Thank you for making things less awkward for this situation, Mis-er, Rowan. I need to work on my diction."
She let go of Rowan's hands as she spun on her heel, only turning back to wave at the other. "I will be seeing you later, right? Until then, be well!"
And with that, Relena left the library. It wasn't until halfway back to her dorm that something extremely relevant dawned on her.
She didn't know the name of the grey girl.

It had only been 3 days.. sorry?
| ◀ | The heart is a heavy burden ❤ She was sure that she had no need to be here, but considering how much the other girl was hating on Relena, she decided to stay. She did not know her classmate that well and she wasn't always the nicest person herself but it would be a good thing. The faster they worked, and they did probably with 3 compared to 2, the better. However, she did not say anything, she just went to stack the books and when they were done, she decided to move them for as far she could muster onto the right order of alphabetic to simply keep on ignoring the girl that now lost all colour except for her eyes. Before Relena could say anything or before Risaka disappeared, she spoke up loudly without looking: "A simple thank you was sufficient enough." Which was her way of bitching back at this time.
She did not know how to react to Relena getting her hand and thanking her very much, she did like it when she said her name. Sakamoto only reminded her of her father and not herself but she understood the reason why people said it. "No problem." Which wasn't entirely true but at least the problem wasn't made in her eyes by Relena at this point. "Yes, we see each other soon. Do enjoy the book." She said with a chuckle as she went on to make it alphabetized, she had nothing better to do and finally picked a book she read before, so she knew she would enjoy it. |
