❝You're showing me colours of the sky, But all I see is Grey❞ 454 w. kenjutsu-f | reinforcement-f | radiant dawn-e "Oh my, why does there have to be so much?"
Relena had set upon the task of organizing Kimiko's disaster area of a library and had made quite some headway. But she had used up the majority of her morning getting everything set up so that she could, at the very least, have her tatami mattress laid out. There wasn't even any time to go out and exercise, but it was worth the trouble. She loathed sleeping on a couch and refused to use one now. The only other luxury that Relena allowed herself in the mildly cramped room was a small portable television set on a desk along the back wall.
Some considered it an 'idiot box' but Relena found TV to be quite enjoyable and this particular one even came prebuilt with an antenna. She sat down on her mattress and folded her legs, grabbing hold of the remote and flipping the device on. Despite the fact that she wanted to relax and watch some mindless violence, Relena was drawn to the subject of Semper Fi. It was being talked about everywhere by everyone! Quirkers were put in the spotlight and being judged on both fronts, which made her sick. She flicked the channel to a random station and carefully set the remote down next to her, falling down lazily on her mat.
It was stifling in the dorm room, which made sense since she spent so much time tidying up. She needed a break. A change of pace to get her mind off of this military nonsense. It was then that she heard a group of girls gabbing on some show while gathered around a pot of food. Relena sat up to regard the show with interest that was starting to rise...they called it a 'potluck.'
Relena rubbed her chin at the concept. It seemed to bring the girls closer as they made a pot of random ingredients while laughing about gossip and whatnot. She hated useless banter but thought that maybe something like this would interest Kimiko. The girl liked to talk, much to Relena's chagrin, but she was harmless enough. After all, Kimiko was the only friend that she had and it would do her some good to strengthen their relationship.
So with that thought in mind, Relena jumped up to her feet and left her room to come out into their shared living space. She rapped her knuckles on Kimiko's door, praying that it was late enough for the girl to be awake, and announced her presence.
"Excuse me, Ms. Kimiko. This may be short notice, but I was wondering if you were available today in assisting me with shopping." With a grimace, she added. "It...could be fun."

Following another late night hitting the books the morning light which fluttered through parted curtains hadn't so much as stirred the slumbering beast. Hidden deep within the confines of a blanket den Kimi slept; her legs tucked against her chest conserving her body heat. Nearly as still as a statue the only signs of life to be seen was the rhythmic rising of her chest and the ever so soft snores that came from her parted, drool smeared lips. Snuggled into a deep dream state one could have easily forgotten just how brash this little angle was... that was until the quaking of the door destroyed the tranquilly. Blood shot eyes snapped open as a guttural growl broke from Kimi's throat. There were few things that Kimi enjoyed more than sleeping and when that peaceful state was ruined the world better have been on fire. "Whhhhhhat!" Kimi's voice croaked loudly through a parched throat. Throwing the blankets from her body in a fit of rage Kimi rose to sit up right her eyes burning on the door. "Some one better be dying out there!" Voice cracking the following stream of curses would have sounded like a turn table disc jockey at a rave if her word were censored. Having been abruptly stolen from her sleep it took Kimi's brain a few seconds to become fully awake. Having lived pretty much on her own for most of her life she wasn't accustomed to having others around let alone someone checking on her. Once the realization set in and Kimi became more self aware of the world around her the stream of swears ceased. With the memories of her new dorm mate flooding back to her Kimi quickly made the connection between Relena and the voice which had so rudely awoken her. It wasn't as though Kimi went about ruining Relena's enjoyment of... cleaning? Or breathing? Actually Kimi wasn't sure what Relena did when they weren't in class nor was she currently interested in anything but sleep. "Oh... right." Sniffling softly Kimi rubbed her eyes as she picked up her phone. Glancing at the glowing screen she took notice of the time. "Only eleven? Geez, it's so early." Moaning softly Kimi threw the phone back on the night stand and fell back into her pillow with a plop. "Why does she still call me 'Ms'? Makes me sound like an old hag. Pretty sure I'm younger than her." Kimi noted with a deep yawn. "Come in... or not... I don't care." Kimi muttered pulling one of the blankets that hadn't fallen to the floor over her head. At this point Kimi wasn't about to leave her bed for anything less than a better bed. Weekends were her time to do whatever she wished. During the week she busted her tail in school, practicing violin and studying. Now that she had time to herself she was going to make the most of out of it; by going the hell back to sleep. "God, she's like a puppy. Always wanting something. First she takes my library, my sleep and now she's trying to take my day away! How many people does it take to go shopping anyway?" She questioned the logic behind Relena's request not even considering the girl just wished to bond with Kimi. "Mmm... still warm." Pawing at the blanket Kimi purred gently and wished that she could lay like that forever; just one big toasty burrito. ISHY of THQ & ADOXOGRAPHY

❝You're showing me colours of the sky, But all I see is Grey❞ 419 w. kenjutsu-f | reinforcement-f | radiant dawn-e Relena was already fully aware of the mood that Kimiko would be in, considering the time. It was her hope that eleven would be late enough...and clearly it wasn't. So, it seems she sleeps into the afternoon. I didn't believe her at first, but this is indeed the case. How peculiar.
She grimaced visibly at the audible insults that were hurled in her direction from inside the room after she knocked. Some of the words were completely unknown to her, growing up with more refined surroundings. It was like listening to a disgruntled villain in one of her old timey crime movies, which made Relena chuckle slightly at the thought of Kimiko as a black and white mobster.
"Very well, Miss. My thanks for granting permission to enter your premises."
Relena stepped inside after twisting the door handle and gently shut it behind her. It took a moment for her eyes to adjust to the darkness, but soon she could make out the bundled up shape lumped on the bed. Her eyes narrowed in mild annoyance while she approached the edge of the bed, but she had to remind herself that this was the girl's own life style. It was not her place to cast judgement upon others. At least, not yet.
She coughed loudly into her hand to get Kimiko's attention. "I apologize for waking you prematurely, Kimiko, but I am feeling...I suppose melancholy is most accurate."
Relena tilted her head down to look at the floor. It was slightly embarrassing to admit her feelings like this, but she felt that Kimiko could be someone that she could bond with if given the opportunity. It was stupid to look down, since the girl was wrapped up in her own blanket of protection and was doubtless ignoring her. But she continued anyway.
"I admit that I lack the charm of a 'normal girl' and some may say that I come off as abrasive. I...wish to change that. Starting with you, Mi-" She halted her speech, biting her tongue in the process. "Kimi." She said the nickname as if it were some foreign word. Nicknames seemed like a lazy way to say someone's name, but that was how Relena saw things. If anything, she needed to expand her speech patterns and learn to adapt with her fellow students.
"So I was thinking...would you like to join me on a venture to the market? I thought we could cook something nice and...have a 'slumber party.' That is, if you are free."

On one hand Kimi could appreciate the fact that Relena was being as quite as possible entering her den. On that same note however Kimi still held discontent that she'd been woken in the first place. If it wasn't for the fact that not caring took a lot less energy she probably still be yelling at this point. This early in the morning the only thing she really cared about was sleeping. Now after having been abruptly and rudely awoken she was going to try her damnedest to achieve the dream state she so carefully crafted not moments ago. Muttering softly at Relena's cough Kimi pulled the blanket over her head. Glaring with reddened eyes she stared a Relena through the smallest of gaps between the blanket and the bed. Why did she give Relena permission to enter her room? It would have been so simple to tell the girl to bugger off. Being the kind and obedient girl that she was Relena did pretty much whatever she was told to do. Exhaling deeply through her nose Kimi settled herself in the fate she'd chosen. "Mrrrrr...." The animalistic grunt muffled by the blanket lazily flopped from Kimi in response to Relena. With the initial burst of adrenaline wearing off human language seemed to have vacated Kimi's palette. In the closest translation possible the noise meant "You should be", though only Kimi would have known that. Suddenly Kimi lifted her head to get a better view of Relena as the girl's head seemed to drop. "Huh? What's she doing?" Kimi questioned though kept the words only for herself. The sight was one that she all to accustomed too and for a moment she felt... sympathy for Relena. The slumped head brought back many moments of disappointment through out her own life. Missed recitals. Empty halls. No one special waiting to greet her as she walked in. Kimi knew nothing of finical difficulties in her life but she knew what it was to be an outlier, a loner, someone who stood on their own because they had no one to stand next to them. It hit her close to home and she could feel her chest throb at the thought. Shaking the thoughts away Kimi took in an exasperated sigh letting Relena know that she was awake and disturbed. If only she had just told her to go away her day wouldn't be ruined. "UGGGGGGH." Her voice trembled as she kicked her feet under the blanket. "You're not going to leave me alone till I get up are you?" Kimi asked with her voice still cracking from a dry throat. Slowly coming to sit up the blanket would fall from Kimi's head as she locked blurry, half closed eyes with Relena. Now with her head fully exposed Relena would easily take notice of Kimi's frizzy bed head and the assorted bits of candy and chips that clung to it's fine black strands. She was certain that the bag of chips was still some where under her covers. "...fine. Not like I'm going back to sleep after this." Crossing her arms over her chest Kimi sighed softly. "I don't know what I can teach you." Shrugging her shoulders Kimi thought heavily on what it was to be a 'normal girl'. As far a Kimi knew she wasn't exactly normal. If anything she was rather bitchy and knew it. Sure, she could more or less fit into a crowd if she so wished to but she didn't think of herself as normal but an individual. "But, whatever. Let's go shopping." She rose her hands above her head in mock excitement. "Just let me shower... and... make me some coffee for the love of all that's holy and just in this world." Rubbing her eyes Kimi sighed once more. "This is going to be a looooooooong day... I'll miss you bed." Patting the bed softly with one hand she could almost began to weep at the thought. Then feeling her hand pass over something crunchy she peeked under the covers. "Oh hey my chips!" ISHY of THQ ADOXOGRAPHY

❝You're showing me colours of the sky, But all I see is Grey❞ 429 w. kenjutsu-f | reinforcement-f | radiant dawn-e Relena tilted her head off to one side as she regarded Kimiko. "I mean, I suppose I could leave you alone, Kimi. But then we wouldn't be able to enjoy this day to the fullest."
To sleep for an entire day...perhaps Kimiko wasn't as normal as Relena believed her to be. Especially after hearing the crinkling of some kind of junk food coming from underneath her blanket. She wanted to make the comment that eating before bed was both unhealthy and brought forth nightmares, but Relena kept that to herself. Kimiko was already upset with her as it was and she didn't want to add fuel to the fire.
Oh how she wanted to seize a brush and get all of the small bits of random snacks out of Kimiko's hair. It was irking her so much that she could feel her right eye twitching uncomfortably. Does she enjoy living like this? H-How? A shiver went down her spine at the thought of anything sticky stuck in her own immaculate hair. I'll have to see if I can assist in setting her straight. One can try at the very least.
Relena was so caught up in her analysis that she almost missed Kimiko's acceptance of her invitation. A smile threatened to appear on her face, but she was able to cover it up by once again nodding her head. "Okay, thank you. I really appreciate this."
It was hard to contain her excitement, since no one had ever gone out on a trip with her before. Aside from her aunt and uncle, of course. Relena didn't have any friends before coming to UA, so this was an exhilarating experience! Kimiko's mockery was wasted on Relena as she spun around to make her way into the main room. Although she wasn't an amazing cook, Relena was capable of making basic essentials.
Thus she set to work making a pot of coffee, despite her distaste for the black liquid, and scrambling some eggs while popping bread into the toaster. Perhaps during my time here I might join the cooking club. This is quite relaxing! It might even get Kimi to stop eating so much trash too. But I digress.
She poured a cup of coffee and finished up the plate, setting both on the table in the main room. As she came back around, Relena poured a glass of milk and spread some bean paste onto her toast. Once finished and satisfied with her preparation, she sat down at the table to wait patiently for Kimiko to emerge from her room.

"Yeah, yeah. Whatever." Waving Relena off with a laxed wave of her hand Kimi sighed softly. It appeared that this day was going to be a long one. Even though it had just began Kimi wished to already be asleep once more. With her fate laid out before her Kimi lazily pulled herself from the embracing confines of her bed. Waiting a few moments she watched as Relena nearly skipped from her room; why the girl was so excited she would never understand. As the door swung closed Kimi glanced at the looming floor with her toes grazing the soft carpet. With one last sigh of defeat she came to stand. Running nimble fingers through her knotted bed head she glanced out the window. Only a sliver of the sun could be seen past the thick clouds that clotted the sky. With winters chill suffocating the air the sudden coolness that ran down her finger tips came as no surprise to Kimi as she touched the glass. "Better bring a jacket." Kimi mused to herself. Turning away from the glass she made her way toward the shower. With a refreshing wash in scalding water Kimi felt much more energized than when she was awoken. Exiting from the shower she was greeted by a thick bank of steam. Feet squelching against the linoleum flooring Kimi made her way in front of the mirror. Using a nearby hand towel she cleared the fogged surface to reveal her own grim face. Even after the near boiling waters she'd just bathed in Kimi still appeared as though she was the living dead. "Ugh... What a sight to see...." Leaning in closer she examined her face and was thankful to see that her skin hadn't broken out over the night. Between her diet of junk food, adolescence, and terrible sleeping habits she was surprised her complexion was as flawless as it was. After spending some time applying lotion, moisturizer and a heap of other skin care products Kimi threw off her towel. Picking up the outfit she'd laid out before hoping into the shower she held it against her body. Standing before the fogged mirror she looked herself over. What she'd chosen wasn't anything out of the ordinary. A simple black T-shirt, slightly torn jean shorts, black knee high stockings, black leather boots, and a green hoodie. Outside of her class uniform and special occasions her outfits weren't all that complex. As long as they held some hint of fashion and were comfortable Kimi was happy. A wave of heat and steam burst from the bathroom as the door opened. Coming out into the relatively cool air of the dorm Kimi shivered slightly. While the room was of a considerable temperature to ward off the bitter chill out the outside her body was flushed with heat leaving her cheeks with a touch of pink. Shrugging off the shiver Kimi made her way to the kitchen. Upon her arrived she paused in the door way taken aback by the small meal prepared for her. "... that's some odd looking coffee." Kimi gestured towards the plate of eggs and toast. Sliding one of the chairs out Kimi sat down at the table and began to dig into what Relena had prepared. By no means was it a luxurious meal or even that pleasing to the tongue but Kimi ate it without a negative remark. The fact that Relena had gone above and beyond the call of duty was enough to keep her lips sealed. After eating silently for a few minutes Kimi glanced at Relena who was absent of a plate. "I take it she's already eaten... it is nearly noon after all...." Kimi thought as her teeth sunk nosily into the crispy toast. Downing the liquid black energizer Kimi broke her lips seal with the mug with a satisfying gasp. Setting the cup down on the table her attention fixed on Relena. "Alright. I'm awake. So let's get this over with." Running a hand through the fine locks of her hair Kimi came to stand from the table. "Just lead the way...." Her voice trailed off as she made her way to front door where she'd slip her shoes on. ISHY of THQ ADOXOGRAPHY

❝You're showing me colours of the sky, But all I see is Grey❞ 457 w. kenjutsu-f | reinforcement-f | radiant dawn-e It brought an odd sensation of satisfaction to Relena to see Kimiko eating her food without any complaint. Did that mean that she was satisfied with it? She sure hoped so. With a knowing nod, Relena rose from the table and went down the hall to her room. She was already dressed in a simple white cotton button down dress shirt and a long navy blue skirt. She chose a pair of black wool knee high socks and leather boots to combat the ensuing cold of December. She hated the cold, but there was little point in staying cooped up inside when the sun was still shining, right?
"I'll be right there!" She called as she opened the door to her room where a hanger was occupied by a long white coat. She threw it on unceremoniously and made haste back to the door where Kimiko was no doubt waiting impatiently. Relena felt a little guilty for dragging her out against her will, but she hoped that this would bond them together a little bit more. Was that wrong? Relena was unsure. Regardless, the two of them made their way out of campus.
"Okay, so the first stop should be for some snacks. I already know where to get our dinner, so I figured you could show your expertise in all things junk food."
Despite her revulsion toward the sugary nonsense, Relena knew that Kimi enjoyed it. So that would be their first stop to hopefully give her a boost of excitement for the day's reverie. And thus, their first stop was to a bakery in the shopping district where some candy was also sold. She had heard of this place when she first arrived at UA, but never had the time to explore due to her school prep.
Although she kept her figure at a relative range with proper diet and exercise, there was no harm in one night of indulgence. Especially since this would be a celebration of sorts for the two girls. It was something that Relena was feeling more and more excited for!
"I cannot lie...I am feeling quite jovial, Kimi." She turned to regard her companion as they walked down the street. A warm smile spread across her face. "Again, thank you so very much for joining me today. I know that you didn't want to, so I really appreciate it."
Looking at the window displays, she couldn't resist how cute some of the little muffins looked! Her eyes widened as she turned to Kimiko. "Please feel free to peruse. As I've already stated, I know what I'll be grabbing for our dinner, so I hope you can help me in picking out the desserts, Kimi. For tonight we gorge on decadence!"
