November 23, the day the sweet violet eyed support studies student was born into the world. It's crazy to think that her birthday had already come and past. Another year older, goodbye sixteen, hello to being seventeen! Birthdays usually meant a time to celebrate, to spend the day together with friends, to rejoice in the addition of another year to one's life. Chise, however, completely forgot that her birthday was even coming up, thus never had the chance to get people together to celebrate. When she was little, she remembered having fun parties with those that were close to her, eating cake, playing games, opening presents, all the things which made a birthday fun. As of the most recent years, however, Chise seemed to forget the parties and celebrations, too busy focusing on school work and the such. Though it was a few days after her birthday, she could still celebrate the small achievement by herself. Though, she was low on supplies to make herself a small cake, she would just have to see if the club classroom had what she needed. Hopefully Haruto wouldn't mind, she would replenish it with her own funds when she got around to going to the store.
Chise grabbed her bag and locked her dorm door, heading to the main building, more specifically the cooking club room. She didn't need anything big, a small vanilla cake should suffice for a birthday cake. Maybe she'd make a simple frosting to put on top. Would the club room even have candles? She could always improvise by quickly lighting a match or something like that. Perhaps she should look around just to be safe, wouldn't want to burn down the club room and make a disaster out of nothing now. Chise slowly made her way to the school building, it wasn't like anyone else would be using the club room...right? Oh, if she needed to use the club room, she would need the key to the room. She should really ask Tsutsuji-sensei if she could get a key as well. She didn't think it would be too bad. Chise pulled out her phone as she walked and punched in Haruto's number, preparing a message for him.
{To <3~My Knight~<3: Ne Haruto! I hate to borrow you but I was wondering if I could borrow the key to the club room. Are you free? Hopefully I'm not being a bother!}
One look over her message and the red haired girl sent her message with a smile. Hopefully Haruto would be able to deliver. Maybe she should have asked if he was in his dorm room or if he was at the school already. Was it too late to turn back now?

@cooking Club | ◀ | The heart is a heavy burden ❤ It was easy to use the space of her apartment to have the snacks and drinks ready and she had a little box to carry all of that with her to the cooking clubroom. Which was heavy but she decided not to complain because she was way too excited. Surely the cooking club had its own stuff but they would need to be prepared and well she assumed someone was making the cake, clearly not her, you didn't want to have it dropped on the ground five seconds before starting. So she would offer to work on this, with a swipe of her credit card, no one would have to be said about finances and the like, she did not care about that.
On top of the full box was a little present, it was packed in a silver looking paper with a purple ribbon on top and Rowan was okay with that, it was perhaps childish but she had found a sheep plushie, right on time before this specific surprise party and she had bought it, another swipe of a credit card, and brought it now. But she had to hurry if she wanted to be on time and hurried towards the room to meet up with the others and stall the soda and other drinks as well as the snacks that she bought. Surely everyone loved crisps and pretzels right.
She looked around now that she focused on her one task and made sure to be in no ones way. Where would you hide for a surprise party or just shut off the light and remain to stand, how did a surprise party work? Would Chise not fall from surprise, hurt herself, get half a heart attack or a whole one? She shook her head, for the occasion she had kept her hair out of a bun and just loose, who knew, she would just wait for tips or see what the rest did. |

November 23rd, Chise's birthday. The cooking club had decided to throw her a surprise party so right now Akio was in the club room getting some decorations together, considering how tall he was, it was only natural that he'd be asked to hang up all the streamers and the banner and all the decorations, so he happily agreed. He'd just finished hanging a banner that read "Happy Birthday Chise" he stepped back to admire his work Alright then, that looks good! he thought to himself as he continued to hang streamers around the room. He finished a few minutes later and looked around the room at the job he'd done and nodded in satisfaction Chise's gonna love this, I'm sure of it! he thought to himself as he rushed around to help others with their jobs. He had also made some small snacks for the party, he knew that Chise liked sweets and she had brought him cookies when she was in the hospital, so he'd made a big batch of cookies for the party, he put the cookies on a big plate and put the plate on the table with the rest of the snacks. Akio had also gotten Chise a gift which was currently sitting wrapped in his bag, he never really knew what to get girls for their birthday but decided on getting Chise a pair of stud earrings shaped like cupcakes which he hoped she would like, now all that was left was to wait for Chise to arrive and surprise her.

Miku had no idea it was Chise's birthday, she learned that little fun fact from Akio. Luckily she had time to get her own gift for Chise. Most were handmade. Like a drawing, a birthday card and a bracelet. Even a lil flower crown as a bonus since Miku was a plant girl. And all of that was in 1 birthday box tied with a ribbon. She wanted a few gifts all wrapped into 1 to make up for the fact that she had no idea it was her birthday. And she wanted to avoid cooking something. Because that would be too obvious
She was of course with Akio and joined the cooking club to help and prepare the spectacular surprise. Although Miku was too short to do anything Akio did. She tried her best in assisting with other things.
While helping around this made her wonder when did others have their birthday. Should she just ask everyone and write it down? "I have to be quick and discreet when doing that. So I wont do anything on Chise's birthday. Today is her day after all" Miku thought to herself
Today Chise. Tomorrow Akio, Haruto, Tetsuko, Rowan and of course Hachi, Chise's Teacher.

Her own day of birth had passed without much fuss, as Tetsuko preferred it, but with things having settled down since then, it seemed things were in prime position to give hearty celebration for those whose birthdays lay towards the end of the year. On this particular date, the honor fell upon their esteemed cooking club vice president, Chise Ishihara. Tetsuko didn't know her all that well, aside from a few encounters here and there and within the club itself, but she was a pleasant acquaintance and the Shindou girl enjoyed the company of the club, so she saw no reason not to attend. With Rowan handling snacks, and Haruto presumably taking care of the cake (he was the club president, after all), Tetsuko had decided to help with some more finger foods and the decorations. She didn't contribute too much, trusting others who knew Chise better, leaving only one slight problem for Tetsuko: The present.
Birthdays had always been a bit tricky for the tomboyish Tetsuko, at least, when they involved members of her own sex. Her own tastes seemed to differ, usually, so Tetsuko had to rely a bit on Elise when it came to what present suited a girl's 17th birthday. Elise's more feminine tendencies came in handy, and after some brainstorming had come up with an idea she was at least satisfied with. A lovely little apron, that worked well as a casual gift, from what Elise had told her, The small present was wrapped up neatly and tucked away with the others, Tetsuko polishing up her own help with the streamers and such before taking her position and awaiting Chise's arrival. This was the first time Tetsuko had thrown a surprise party, and wasn't quite sure how it was going to work. What if Chise had other plans, what if she was going to be elsewhere, how were they to be 100% certain she wouldn't have to delay coming to the cooking club for some reason. It seemed awfully risky to Tetsuko, but if it worked, there was the chance they could make the young girl's day, so that was certainly something.

Post by Shimizu Haruto on Dec 6, 2018 17:40:46 GMT -4
Was there really a world in which Haruto missed Chise's birthday party? After all, it may not be public knowledge, but... He was her boyfriend! It wasn't like they were trying to hide it or anything, it was just... Well, is there a way to say, "Hey, by the way, I've been dating the vice-president," that isn't completely and utterly awkward? Still, he couldn't possibly have let himself be left out from preparing for her surprise party! Fortunately, no one had questioned his motives when he had offered to make the cake. It was vanilla- Chise's favorite- and crafted with loving care. But it was the frosting he was particularly happy with. Chise's favorite fluffy white sheep grazed atop the cake, leaving behind a simple message- Happy birthday, Chise!
Setting down the frosting he was working with, Haruto surveyed his work and nodded. He was certain that most bakeries wouldn't surpass this cake by much- And of course, they'd be missing that secret ingredient which starts with "l" and ends on "ove." But as he was turning to get a second opinion, his phone buzzed in his pocket. While he was tempted to ignore it until after the party was ready- Well, after reading it, he was glad he had. "Shoot. Uh, guys?"
He called to get the attention of the rest, who were still in the midst of their preparations. "Chise's coming earlier than expected. She just texted to ask me to come and bring her the clubroom key... You guys, keep finishing up, I'll uh, stall her. I'll lock the door when I leave, so, when you hear the key fumbling in the lock, get into position, okay? Fortunately, they were pretty close to done- He should only have to buy a few minutes, especially with the added sense of urgency his announcement should have given the club members.
Besides, how could he say no to the chance to have a private birthday celebration with Chise before the public one? He left the clubroom, locking the door behind him- Then, rather than head directly to Chise, he took a more roundabout loop. Wouldn't want her to realize he had come from the clubroom and spoil the surprise, after all! Fortunately, despite his detour, he still made it in time- Striding up behind the red-haired girl, he would call out, ""Chise!"
He strode up and wrapped his arms around the girl. She was as warm as usual, a great pleasure in this cold November weather. Fortunately, the hallways were empty at this time of day- How could he dare be this forward if there was a crowd? But well, they wouldn't be alone for long, so he was determined to make the most of it! And so, as his girlfriend would inevitably turn to meet him, he would bend down in order to steal a short kiss from her ruby red lips. "Happy birthday, sweetheart!" he would whisper, trying to hide his embarassment. It had seemed smooth in his head, and yet having actually tried it, the only thing he felt was a burning embarrassment!
If there was a consolation, it was that Chise's cheeks could not possibly be less red than his own. "Uh, umm. Right, uh. I got you, here," Trying to dispel the embarassment, Haruto awkwardly fumbled in his pockets for his gift. It was small- A little charm for attaching to a phone. He had picked it out especially for her, and- Well, if she liked it, he would reveal that he had an identical one on his own phone. A couple's keychain, as it were. Hopefully she didn't think it was too cheesy.

| A ngel just couldn't be late! Today was an even more important day then U.A.'s opening ceromony to Angel as it was her very first friends birthday! Sadly for the energetic girl however she didn't find out about the surprise party until two days before it was actually happening and so she had to rush to make and buy what she thought would be the perfect gifts for her first ever and favorite friend! Angel had made a large tin of chocolate chip cookies although quite a few of them turned out mishapened or a bit burnt but Angel hoped that Chise would appreciate the effort. To cover up this blunder Angel went out to the mall and bought a Minature foals of Pinkie Pie and then wrapped them both in cupcake wrapping paper. Once the day arrived, Angel quickly got dressed, did her hair and put on some french vanilla perfume and headed out to the cooking club classroom where she saw that everyone had already arrived minus the birthday girl and had begun setting up. She had seen quite a few of the club members in the halls or in class and so she knew their names but not much else about them. As she quickly but gently sat her presents down on the gift table she spotted the stunningly beautiful Rowan, the cool looking Akio, the gentle Miku, the almost always sleepy looking Tetsuko and the intelligent looking Shimizu. It was quite the gathering and for a good cause and for a good person. It seemed that everyone was busy at work doing something and so it seemed the party wasn't quite ready as the decorations had yet to be hung up,but luckily that's where her wings would come in handy. Angel quickly sat her gifts down on the appropriate table before stretching out her wings and hovering up in the air as Akito and Miku worked to bake cookies. Angel quickly swooped down and grabbed the large banner and smiled down at the party planners. "I'll hang up the banner, streamers and balloons you guys!"Angel giggled and then flew herself over the present table and attempted to hang the banner all by herself but could only get one half up at one time, that was until she had quite the idea. Angel quickly used her strength to unfurl the banner and then quickly launched one of her feathers toward the wall where the left side of the banner would be hung and hardened it's density so it not only pinned to the wall but to the banner as well so it would stay up. She then did the same for the right side so that the banner was evenly hung over the present table being kept up by two stone feathers. "Banner is up!"Once she told the group her progress she quickly began to fly around the room grabbing the helium balloons and tying them to chairs, table legs and even the door knob making sure to keep them away from the cooking area so they wouldn't explode. Once that was done she grabbed the last bit of the decorations being the streamers and began to hang them using the same stone feather method all over the room. Once all the decorations were put up Angel landed near Rowan but made sure to keep away from the stove due to how flammable her wings were. Luckily they had Haruto to stall for time. "I hope Chise likes the party!" |

Chise walked into the main doors of the school, noticing the quiet of the building. Of course it would be quiet, no one else was here but her after all. Well, she was supposed to meet Haruto here so she could use his key to get into the club room so she supposed it wouldn't be all that quiet for much longer. Chise went towards the staircase towards the left and ascended to the second floor, where the club room was located. Once up on the second floor, she turned and was about to go right until she heard her name being called from the left. The redhead was about to turn her head until she felt a pair of arms wrap themselves around her. She would only let one person, aside from her parents, hug her like this and that was her lovely Haruto. It was as if her prince charming had come to scoop her up in his arms and take her away from the evil castle. Chise couldn't help but think mushy thoughts when she was thinking about the white haired boy.
"Ah, there you are Haruto! I was just going to send you a text to let you know I was here," she said with a grin, feeling his grip on her tighten ever so slightly. She appreciated the warm hug, silently hoping they could stay like that for a while but alas, it was too good to be true. As Chise turned to get out of his embrace and face him, she felt a pair of familiar lips press against hers for a few moments, catching her off guard. Her eyes went a bit wide as her cheeks grew hot, soon feeling his warm breath ghost against her ear as he wished her a happy birthday in a deeper tone of voice. A small shiver went up her spine hearing Haruto's voice get so deep like that. How could he act so calm and say something in that sort of manner?! A soft noise left her lips, feeling him pull away only to see his own cheeks as red as hers were. It seemed like maybe it did get to him as well else he wouldn't be blushing so furiously like she was. Chise quickly switched back to her own voice before attempting to speak, not wanting to freak Haruto out by speaking in his voice again. "T-Thank you Haruto-kun. I-I really appreciate it," she spoke with a small smile, trying to shake the flustered feeling away.
As Haruto tried to shake away his own nerves, Chise watched as he reached into his pocked and handed her a cute cell phone strap. She was expecting him to hand her the key but instead she got a small gift from the boy. "Ah, thank you Haruto-kun! I shall treasure it always," she said with a bright smile, carefully taking the charm into her hand and looking at it closely, seeing it was half of a red heart encased in small silver trim with two small diamonds along the outside. Chise wasted no time in taking out her phone and placing the charm on her phone, showing Haruto once it was securely fastened. "I love it!" she said, hugging her boyfriend once more to show her appreciation of her gift. She did wonder why it was only half a heart though...did Haruto perhaps have the other half?

| ◀ | The heart is a heavy burden ❤ Okay so she had placed the bottles of soda on the cooking island and she had also gotten the bags of crisps and pretzels on the surface but now that she looked at it, it wasn't good enough. She decided to have two more things to do because it had to look perfect and plastic cups and such did not look good enough. She quickly walked towards the cupboards about the sink on the right of her and looked at the glasses, the bowls she wanted for the crisps and the other small one for the pretzels, there was only one problem. Someone had put the glass bowls on the upper shelf. She looked around for a way to step up or climb on the kitchen counter but she would have issues with her skirt thus decided not to. Finally, she decided to make use of her friendship and walked over to Akio and tapped him on his upper arm. "I can't reach the glasses, could you please help?" Even after putting up one banner, they had more but she hoped someone else could finish it. Thank god the new member was able to do so, so she could get Akio's help.
Once she got everything she wanted, she counted enough of the glasses for everyone to use to drink from. She asked Akio to fill one of the bowls with the pretzels and she would fill the other bowl with the crisps. They needed to hurry now Haruto was gone and she wanted to gather the gifts to put them on the table on the left of her. It would look nice to see the little gifts, so she asked Akio for that too, if he would put his there as well and she followed her own idea and his example. She would ask Miku, Tetsuko and Angel too, to do so. Now that everything was done and cleared up because Rowan cared about how it looked, it had perhaps to do with how she was raised, she made sure that they were quiet enough so Chise would not hear them and they would hear the key. She grinned shortly at Tetsuko for it was the first person she looked at now that she stood next to the cooking island again. She had never been at a surprise party and she was very excited. |

After Akio had put up his banner and got his cookies all laid out he heard Haruto say that Chise's coming earlier than he expected, he told them he'll stall her and they should finish up here and he'll lock the door when he leaves, so when they hear a key fumbling they should get into position, Akio nodded "We'll wrap this up quickly then and make sure everything's ready by the time you get back," he said as he finished organizing some other little bits and pieces, their new member was flying around setting up another banner, she hoped that Chise likes the party "I'm sure she'll love it!" he said happily before turning after feeling a tap on his arm, he turned around and saw Rowan standing there asking if she could have his help getting some glasses and stuff down "Oh yeah sure, no problem," he said as he went over to the cupboard and grabbed the stuff that Rowan needed. They finished everything up pretty quickly and everyone was pretty happy with how it looked, so now they just had to wait, they all kept quiet so they wouldn't give away that they were waiting in the classroom, now all that was left was for Haruto to bring in Chise

Miku didnt know what to do and she didnt wanna feel useless to she asked Akio "Can I help? Tell me something I can do"
She never did this, birthday party surprise thing. This was a new thing for her that she never experienced. Usually she'd be cooped up home for birthday and have a cake and gift. She was never the gift giver. And even when it was her dads birthday, it'd be like a normal day... Minus the cake. Granted, he couldnt make the cake nor always afford to buy it. Actually, the days of poverty seem like a forever ago now. Before she didnt live in a house, but within 4 walls and a roof. Now, things were so different. She felt the world was alien when she came to UA. Miku thought she adapted, but sometimes, these simple things like birthdays sneak under her radar and caught her off guard.
Speaking of which, when was Akios birthday? "Hey, by the way. Can you also tell me when is your birthday" she shyly asked her boyfriend She didnt wanna miss it for the world. She hoped it was before when they met. She didnt want it to pass whenthey were dating and then she misses it and doesnt do anything like a douche.

The surprise would be coming sooner than expected, it seemed, as Haruto interrupted preparations to announce that Chise would be arriving sooner than expected. Well, at least she was confirmed to be arriving, so that was one logistical aspect covered. ”Understood, Haruto-san.” Tetsuko would respond with a small smile, feeling a bit excited to surprise their beloved vice president with this party. Haruto would handle the role of stalling her, or so he claimed, leaving them to wait and hide and keep his cake safe. Tetsuko, oblivious to the relationship between the two, simply thought it was only natural that the president of the cooking club handled the most important aspect food-wise.
Tetsuko would finish helping up however she could, complying with Rowan’s request to stow the presents away on one of the tables, putting her own small box with the apron within. Setting it down, Tetsuko looked over the other party attendees, from the normal couple Akio and Miku, to the ever collected Rowan, and their new eager member. Rowan smiled at the ironblooded girl, who returned the look and glanced over the door. ”I think we’ve got everything… Should be showtime any second now.” Haruto was presumably still stalling Chise, though it had been a bit longer than Tetsuko had thought. Surely he hadn’t thought they’d take this long to get ready? Again, the young Shindou girl was entirely oblivious to the real nature of their relationship, and if she had known, might have been a bit more understanding of Haruto’s delay…

From the way Chise looked at the strap he gave her, she already saw the twist coming. Well, he had to admit, half a heart was, well... Not the most subtle of gifts. Perhaps he should have just gone for the matching straps instead of being quite this cheesy... However, any doubts were dispelled when he looked at her smile. So he slipped his phone out of his pocket to reveal what she already knew- "And see, I have the other half, so we'll match!" What he didn't mention was that he had gone out of his way to get these custom-made- How awkward would it be if they were to be out and find that they had a matching half-heart to a complete stranger? It had taken pretty much all of his savings from working at the cafe, of course- But then, wasn't that the entire reason he had gotten a job there in the first place?
He was sure that enough time had passed that they could head to the cooking club room without causing any troubles, but Haruto was in no hurry. He greedily stole another kiss from those sweet lips. He was sure Chise must be confused by his unusual proactiveness- He had to stop before he gave away the game, so he reluctantly parted. "Sorry, I, uhh, I couldn't resist." He added, sheepishly, rubbing his head. Chise was just too darned cute! "Come on, I'll unlock the club room for you." Haruto took her hand as if it were the most natural thing in the world, bringing her to the room where many a surprise lay in store. Successfully resisting the urge to take one last kiss, Haruto took out the key- Of course, he made sure to feign struggling with fitting the key into the lock, making plenty of noise in the process. He just hoped he had given enough warning for everyone else to get into position...

| E verything seemed to be going swimmingly other then Chise showing up a tad early, but luckily they had a back up plan in place in the form of who seemed to be Chise's boyfriend named Shimizu who would lock the door behind him so that if they heard the sound of the door unlocking they knew it was time to hide. Once the banners were hung Angel decided to just watch everyone work in case she was needed for something. As Rowan went to get out the bowls and cups for the chips, pretzels and drinks and couldn't reach Angel moved to help but stopped short as Rowen to help since he was a little taller then her and didn't require wings. What Rowen did ask her for was her gifts to sit neatly on the table next to her and so Angel quickly grabbed them and handed them over. "Here ya go Rowan! I'm sure you will make them all look very well designed."When Angel heard Akio say that he was sure that Chise would like the party Angel nodded nervously. Angel wasn't really worried that Chise wouldn't like the party as a whole, but more at Angel's own attempt at baking cookies all by herself which ended up with a few quite burnt ones. Angel didn't want to disappoint her friend. "I just hope she likes the cookies I made her. I made them from scratch all by myself, but I don't have as much practice as you guys do so they kinda ended up a little lumpy and kinda burnt. I left them in a bit to long cause I thought they didn't look done."Angel blushed bashfully and listened to the girl named Miku somewhat shyly ask Akio when his birthday was. Were they romantically involved? Angel was still to the whole club thing and so she didn't really know all the ins and outs of their group dynamic. She had picked up tid bits through heard conversations while passing by but she needed to make it a point to find out as much as she could and so she turned to both Miku and Akio. "If it's alright for me to ask I would like to know when both of your birthdays are. I'm still the newbie so I gotta play a bit of catch up."Once Angel heard Tetsuko state that she thought everything was ready and that Chise would be arriving any second now she forgot all about the birthday information and like on a timer the door knob began to jiggle as Haruto began to unlock the door. Once she saw this Angel jumped up and down excitedly before resting her large wings flat and close against her back as she hid behind the present table. "Everyone hide! Here she comes!" |

Pulling away from the hug, Chise watched as Haruto pulled out his own phone, revealing the other half of a heart charm attached to his own phone. The idea of their phones coming together to make the full charm made Chise's heart speed up just a bit quicker. "I knew you might have the other half. You really do think of everything Haruto," Chise said with a chuckle, her cheeks quite rosy after all of the nice things Haruto had done in the span of only a few minutes. "These look so elaborate, I bet these cost you a fortune. You really didn't have to," Chise said, looking at the charm, her smile wavering just a bit. She hated the fact that Haruto probably wasted a lot of money on her when he could have used it for something more substantial, like that knife set he told her that he wanted. This would mean that Chise would have to get him something just as nice, if not nicer, for his birthday when it rolled around! That was her mission!
Just as she was thinking of what she could get Haruto for his own birthday, she felt his lips against her own once more, surprising her and making her cheeks turn a deeper shade of red. "H-Hey! You can't just surprise me like that! I-It's not nice," she said, a bit flustered that he would kiss her again out of the blue...well they were dating so it was only natural, right? He was definitely more...'kissy' today at least. Chise softly pouted for a moment looking up at Haruto, hearing him say that he couldn't resist. Chise reached up to cup his cheeks and kissed him back once more for revenge. She pulled away with a small smirk and spoke up in Haruto's voice, "Sorry, I couldn't resist either~." Seeing her flustered boyfriend, she couldn't help but chuckle, he really was cute.
Chise felt Haruto take her hand as they walked to the club room together, hearing her boyfriend say that he'd unlock the club door for her since she couldn't herself. Once they reached the club room, Haruto seemed to have some trouble unlocking the door, the key struggling to fit inside the lock for the door. While Haruto was trying to unlock the door, Chise found the opportunity to gently wrap her arms around his waist and hug him from behind, her chest lightly pushing against his back. "Ne, Haruto, if you would want...would you want to make something with me? You don't have to if you don't want to...I don't want to keep you from what you were doing before I messaged you," she said, gently resting her forehead to his back as he unlocked the door, her cheeks quite warm as she spoke. As Haruto opened the door, Chise stepped back so he could turn back to look at her, that was until she caught a glimpse inside the room.
"SUPRISE!" was the only word she heard before she took a better look inside the what she thought was empty club room.
