“Good morning! It’s an early start at Yuuei, but if the sun’s up then I’m up! Still, I guess you guys are watching this later, but if you haven’t tried it yet, waking up at the crack of dawn gives you so much time to wake up and face the day! It’s great, try it sometime. Anyway! Big day today. It’s my first day! Who would’ve thought that somebody like me would end up at an academy for heroes, right? I’m still trying to wrap my head around it, but it’s not going to stop me!”
“So! Lots of stuff to do today, but I think I can squeeze in a proper vlog. How about it? Episode One of Emi’s Exclusives! I'm at the school grounds, and the entrance is just behind me, so we can catch the crowd as they come in. We’ll meet some of Yuuei’s most promising students, see what they’re all about, whether or not they’re actually interesting and stuff. They can tell us what this place is all about, because I’ll be honest, there’s a lot to learn. Even I’m feeling a little nervous… But I’ll get over it! For now I just need to find me some students!”
She flashed a cheery grin, holding a pose before she reached to pause the recording. A sigh of relief left her soon after. Nervous was a slight understatement. It wasn’t just Emi’s first day at Yuuei, it was her first day at a school, period. Worries has kept her from sleeping for too long, to the point that she’d climbed out of bed several hours too early. For the camera or an audience, however, she could fake confidence – perhaps that was why she had brought it along to begin with. And a tripod for it to stand on. And a wind muffler to catch sound. All of which were on display, since she’d pointed her camera straight at the school gates, poised to catch students as they entered the grounds. She walked around to see the camera controls, fiddled with the focus to catch people in the distance, hit record, and waited for the early birds to start rolling in.

An easily excitable youngster, Renzo overcame his first day jitters by spending some of that nervous energy. The entire trip to Yuuei was one wrought with absolute motivation. On the way to a train? He did a little shadowboxing. Waiting for the train? He dropped and did some push-ups. The crowded train ride itself was his respite, but others weren't so happy about his accumulated sweat. But nevermind those people; they just didn't get it. This was Yuuei - a glorified school for heroes, by heroes. Glorified was a strong word. As far as he knew, it was only recently established and not that popular. But with his goals and the school's intentions, what exactly was wasn't there to like? Jogging his way to the gates and performing a few swings into the air, Renzo paused at the sight of something peculiar. At the front gate, there was a bunch of camera equipment and a cutie pie to go along with it. There wasn't a big crowd or anything, what was being recorded? By putting one plus one together, Renzo determined there was probably going to be some post editing. Fun time. While the camera was active, Renzo strolled into view. He grinned and started waving, just before breaking out into a series of flexing. His physique was hidden by his clothes, but he was tall and close enough to have quite some presence in the footage. Once he finished playing around, he whistled and strolled over. "Why... hello there. What's all this equipment for?" Ren asked, grabbing the strap of his backpack that was slung over his shoulder. Now was the time for curiosity. "Oh, sorry about that. Name's Renzo Kimura, but you can just call me Ren" he remembered to introduce himself. -- Emi Ryoko Tachibana

Yumi had done her usual morning job to help build her stamina and gotten changed into her uniform for the day that morning, spending far longer than she’d like to admit debating with herself whether she should wear her shirt tucked in or not. On the one hand she loved it untucked, so comfortable, and she felt she looked so much better, but on the other hand she didn’t wanna get in trouble with Junko anymore. Her body felt so restained when she had her shirt tucked in but it felt even more restrained when Junko literally kept her in a room and lectured her about how important it was to have a proper school attire…nnngh fuck it. If Junko gave her any weird looks she’d just tuck it in before she could ask her to stay back after class.
Wandering to the main school from the dorms, she felt much better wearing her uniform the usual casual way she did, a few buttons undone and her tie hanging loosely around the open neckline of the shirt. Her eyes drifted as she walked, taking in the other students coming in that morning and smiling at a few faces she recognized, twiddling her fingers. What she didn’t expect to see was a whole camera set up? Oh! Was someone taking photos for brochures or something? She spotted a spikey haired, muscular looking male walking up to the cameras and immediately assumed it was her classmate Kirk, rushing up behind him and glomping him from behind, jumping onto his back with a hug around the neck and giggling.
“Heeeeey! What’s this here?~” She stuck her tongue out playfully when she finally looked over the guy’s shoulder, recognizing it was not infact Kirk and hopping off him, taking a few steps back, her cheeks a deep red but more giddy than truly embaressed. “O-oh! I’m so sorry I thought you were someone I knew…” Her eyes drifted to the cameras and the girl who seemed to be adjusting them, smiling brightly and quickly distracting herself as she usually did, stepping closer but making sure she at least turned back to the boy and smiled nervously. “G-genuinely sorry, just, super curious what’s going on here too…” She looked between the girl and the boy, realizing something and getting extra giddy.
“Wait, are you both new!? I’m Yumi, class 1 C president-ay!” She gave a playful salute as she introduced herself. “Pleased ta’ meetcha!”

Emi had been gambling that at least a few wannabe heroes would be happy for the attention, and one stepped up to bat soon enough. He was a giant by Japanese standards – weird, considering that he looked native. On the other hand, she was in a school for society’s outcasts, and probably needed to adjust her expectations. With that imposing figure, aggressively spiked hair and caterpillars for eyebrows, only his smile was stopping Emi from pegging him as the school bully. How did she know? Years of anime.
Either way, he didn’t seem ready to pick a fight with her. Instead, he was giving her a show, and she wasn’t going to waste it. She was quick to turn the focus ring, allowing the camera to catch every pixel of the action. “And here comes the first! No hesitation, just as I’d expect from a hero-in-training! Without a word, he knows what needs to be done and makes it happen!” If the girl wasn’t enjoying herself, she was a damn good faker. Game show hosts were her clear inspiration, though she toned it down once she switched her focus from the camera to its subject. Not by much, considering how excitable she sounded by fault, but it was a tone one could tolerate for more than a few minutes
“Good morning, good morning!” His curious enunciation wasn’t lost on her, but she saw no need to comment on it. Why would she be surprised that somebody else thought she was beautiful, when she had known it for years? “This is my set-up for work. Not the most portable gear, but some things have to be sacrificed for quality!” Two large steps brought her around the tripod, and two more took her into the camera’s focus, a few feet away from the boy. She opened her mouth to speak, but stopped short as she noticed a girl approaching. Or… sneaking. She raised an eyebrow but decided to let the scene play out – all the better for the camera. The ensuing misunderstanding earned a giggle from her, but the stranger seemed to play it off well. She either wasn’t thinking about who else would see the video, or absolutely was, and meant to minimize the damage.
“Nah, no worries! Happens all the time, right?” She had no idea if it did. The girl announced herself to be class president. Interesting. It wasn’t her class, but the girl probably held some sort of authority. And more importantly, popularity. She could use that to her advantage, and so she was all too happy to introduce herself.
"I’m Emi Ryoko Tachibana! It’s my first day here too, so I’m running a little video experiment sort! I want to meet my fellow students, and I also want to put stuff together for my vlog! ‘Emi’s Exclusives’ – the only vlog showing the lives of our new and soon-to-be heroes! And I’m not going to be able to do that without some introductions!” She made a sweeping gesture towards the (still recording) camera, silently nudging them to look in its direction. “So, tell the guys at home all about yourself! Actually, not all. You’ll want to leave some surprises for later!” And more importantly, she didn’t want her neck on the line in case either of them said anything too revealing. She could edit it out after in a worst-case scenario, but she’d prefer if they got it right the first time. Then again, she was relying on two total strangers to act natural in front of a rolling camera…
Maybe she should’ve thought this through.

Flexing for the camera, pink-haired mystery girl spoke. He had no idea what was up with the way she was talking, but he was going to have fun with this one way or another. But having been distracted by the camera equipment and the stranger, something large managed to find its way onto his back. Fortunately, able to support the weight, he only stumbled forward before regaining his bearings. Was this some new student initiation? Was there a crew plotting to beat him up on the first day? It only took a moment to realize that this wasn’t some random act of violence or aggression, but a tender embrace. It was also very clear that this something was in fact, a someone. However, there definitely was something off about the feeling on his back. The person's physicality was ‘thicc’, curvy and for a lack of better words – bountiful; both physically and in personality. The sound of a very clear and effeminate giggle resonated by his ear. ‘Is this real?’ Ren thought, reaching behind him to pat a pair of legs that weren’t his own; just to make sure he wasn’t developing some post-pubescent mutation. ‘It is!’ a smile crept onto his face as he turned his head to see another ladies face over his shoulder. A peach complexioned, amber eyed, red-haired girl was on his back – day one. Not day two, but day freakin’ one. At the front gate no less. ‘I knew this hero business would pay off. I just didn’t realize it would be this fast,’ he completed his thoughts as the girl removed herself from his back in embarrassment. Having made him all excited. No, not quite that excited; he bowed with renewed vigor. “No! There’s no need to apologize. Whoever you thought I was… I’M THAT GUY!!” he shamelessly and jokingly exclaimed, having bent forward far enough during his introductory bow that it was comical. The camera was still rolling, and it was probably the only reason he hadn’t said that ‘his back was available for her use at any moment.’ He didn't want or need too much of that kind of footage floating around. But one other thing stuck out to him, she had mentioned she was the 1-C class president. “So, you must be hot stuff then.” Renzo declared, referring to her skills. “I’m Renzo, class 1-A. And that's right, I'm new here” he stated with a grin – fixing his jacket’s collar. However, the other mystery girl in his life introduced herself and he listened just as astutely. Looking into the camera, he comfortably placed his hands behind his head and tried to think up something to say. Renzo shrugged, "Sorry, I'm tapped. I just used my good material. Ask me again in a little while," he finalized the statement with a hearty laugh. -- Emi Ryoko Tachibana , Yumi Tasukai

Yumi actually had no idea the camera was rolling and not just taking photos, so any sense of embaressment was more from her mistake rather than the fact it had possibly been caught on film. With a sheepish smile she stuck her tongue out and tried to play it cool as she rubbed the back of her neck, but between the two new students she was so oddly giddy to potentially be getting new classmates, or at the very least, fun new schoolmates! Her mind was already racing, wondering what their quirks were, what they were into, would one of them maybe join the art club? Would they start new clubs? Where they in her class!? Would they be gunning for number one student places? Maybe one of them would be a new class president when the votes happen again! Heck she wasn’t even sure if they lived on campus or not cause she hadn’t seen which way they walked to the school from. Ultimately of course she suppressed her questions in herself, bowing her head and apologizing to Renzo silently once more.
“Renzo huh? That’s a pretty cool name! It like a hero thing or where your parents actually like ‘we need to give our kid the most badass name eva! It’s gonna have a Z and everything!’” Despite the potentially mocking words, Yumi’s tone and enthusiasm showed she was genuinely serious, even if she was being a little silly about it. Renzo sounded like it was a hero name all on it’s own and if it was this guys real name he definitely was blessed with one hell of a cool name. She caught his words about her being ‘hot stuff’ a little late, and with the words that could fly around about her, she blushed a little and waved it off. “O-oh don’t pay any mind to that-“ She began, not realizing he was just referring to her class president ranking, and not the general rumors of how ‘hot’ and in some cases ‘loose’ she was. “I’m just another student here, just approach me like you would anyone else yeah.~” She offered a sheepish smile, luckily for her her words could come as a response both to the idea that she was being called out for her hotness or just her ranking as a student. Back to the girl Emi, Yumi offered a bright smile as it became clear she was filming. Oh wow! She’d never seen a vlogger before! Yumi immediately was looking at the camera, tilting herself to get in the shot a bit better, not fully aware she was probably fully in the shot already, waving her hand eagerly.
“Oh you make a vlog? That is soooo cooool!” She resisted the urge to geek out however as the girl said she needed some introductions, Yumi bounding a little closer to the camera and leaning forward infront of it, not realizing she was giving the viewers at home a nice shot down her shirt. It was up to Emi if that meant this needed to be cut out of her vlogs later. “Hellooooo! My name’s Yumi Tasukai! I’m a student at UA, class president of 1-C, or 1 Chaos, or 1 Champions, depending on if you ask our teachers or our classmates!” She stuck out her tongue playfully, remembering that she had to save some surprises, giggling as she reared back and wiggled her fingers in a ‘wooo’ like fashion as she tried to add some flair to her words. “I have a pretty ‘shocking’ quirk! But I’m sure if these vlogs continue you’ll figure that out eventually!”
Turning back to Emi, not knowing much Vlog etiquette, she now finally squeed and leaned over to her. “Are you really doing a big vlog about the school or something!? That’s awesome!”

The scene before her seemed awfully familiar. She’d seen it in half a dozen cartoons before. A young man, on his first day of school, suddenly finds himself surrounded by cute girls. If the boy’s sudden excitement was anything to go by, he was loving it. She, on the other hand, wasn’t about to turn this into a harem – she was obviously the most beautiful of the two, and if he didn’t see that, then he didn’t deserve her anyway. Her smile remained as big as ever as the two got to know each other. “All three of us are in different classes, then. I’ve been dropped into 1-B. Don’t know anybody there, but I’m betting it’s short for ‘Best’, since I’m there!” She jabbed her thumb against her chest, staying just as cocky as ever. The smile was immediately dropped as the boy decided he wasn’t going to put on a show. She gave him a deadpan expression, and then turned to the camera to make sure it caught her reaction. She could edit in a zoom later, or just cut to Yumi’s… Yumi-ness. Emi was good at drumming up energy for the camera, but this girl was something else. Maybe she should have been taking notes. Or hiring her. She almost made up for the boy giving up, especially with what looked like a suggestive shot. She gave the camera a contemplative look. She’d have to edit that out if she didn’t want the video removed, but little sneak peeks like that would be great for a clickbait thumbnail. She’d have to see what she could do with it later – after all, none of the thoughts meant anything if she couldn’t get good content in that moment, and only 50% of her subjects were giving that. “I have been for a few years, yeah! This is just my newest project, and my main one for now. I have to see how well it works out first, but I already know every smart student will be asking for a video once they know I’m here.” She gave the two a confident smirk. “I’ve got years of experience, and I can give what they need.” She moved into a sales pitch. She turned her attention to Renzo. “Every good hero needs some good publicity! How’s anybody going to remember who you are if you can’t be bothered to make yourself stand out? Why should they care?” She let the question hang in the air for a moment. “The pros get cameras and news crews following them fighting crime, but you’re going to get arrested if you try that, right? So you need to do something else, not just to be good, but to make sure people know you’re good.” She folded her arms and raised an eyebrow. “So how can you come in on your first day and say you’re not ready to roll, when your chance to shine comes straight to you?” She gestured to Yumi, as if she proved her point. “You can tell Yumi’s going places, even without her saying she’s the president. She’s on it with an energetic, electric person- Oooooh. I get it! Shocking!” Just like that, a burst of giggles distracted her from her little speech. It was probably better that way – she’d made her goals sound entirely altruistic, and not at all a vehicle for her personal gain.

"Right?" Renzo agreed with Yumi spreading his arms apart, "That's exactly what I was saying! There's some crazy expectations with a name like mines," he nodded. He didn't know the story behind his name and never thought to ask about it. He had liked it enough. Although, he rubbed his chin trying to figure out what exactly she meant by 'approaching her like anyone else.' Up to this point, he thought he had -- despite the fact she was likely someone reasonably memorable due to her status among the student body. 'Shit,' he thought. 'I'm in neither of their classes.' With every blessing came an unfortunate catch and this rule applied to him just as much as it had for anyone else. Acquainted with two cuties in the same day, he would see neither of them throughout his regular day. Not unless he went out of his way to find them; he would have to remember to add that to his to-do list. However, Emi's words sparked his competitive vigor. "I don't see how that's possible... because I'm in 1-Ace," he quickly added regarding the meaning of the class letter. If he was anything, he was witty. "Besides, A comes before B" he concluded, at least from what he could recall from those elementary English classes. Childish reasoning? Sure, but Renzo had the wiggle room to go a little lower. The two went on a bit about Emi's vlogs. Renzo still didn't quite understand the appeal, but a passion was a passion. It didn't quite matter if he understood it. On the other hand, Yumi was clearly creative, her introduction was pretty damn clever. "HAH! Shocking. I get it." Renzo laughed, still unsure if she meant electricity or something else, but he golf clapped all the same. 'Is this a lecture? This sounds like a lecture,' he immediately thought as Emi went on to explain the need for publicity and to be noticed. "Well, yeah... that's pretty obvious." he said with his hesitation transforming into clear confidence; it really was not quite so obvious to him a moment ago. 'Quick! I need a good rebuttal for the show.'"It should be clear to you now anyway," Renzo added slapping his right fist into the palm of his left hand and wearing a wide smile. The 'CLAP' the impact made was for emphasis, but it hurt a little more than he thought it would. He was playing it off for now though. "I'm a man of action. I don't need to explain who I am, since the end result will be the same. But for the people at home..." he looked right into the camera. "I'm Renzo Kimura, the latest addition to 1-A, and I have one goal." He raised his fists to shoulder level and made good on his words, quickly thrusting and alternating his fists forward at heightened speeds thanks to his quirk. There was a very low and subtle rip, as his school jacket tore someplace. "Become number one."'DAMMIT!' he thought, 'This is brand new!' You see, blazers weren't really meant for physical activity. It was why most people took them off, but in his excitement - he forgot. It might elicit some laughs, but it is what it is. He removed his jacket to assess the damage and asked "Well then, how was that?"-- Emi Ryoko Tachibana , Yumi Tasukai

Yumi was feeling a brief rush from being infront of the camera, and she was glad Emi took so well to her putting herself out there like that. She felt a little bashful when her rank as class president seemed to give her some special sense of ‘she’s special’ and waved it off playfully, but the way the boy and girl both had a giggle as they realized the ‘shocking’ part of her little speech had her giggling, rolling her eyes and waving them both off. “Oh come on guys I didn’t do anything special. I just like being silly I guess! Don’t think too much about it!” She tilted her weight to one side to look to Renzo past Emi. “Seriously Renny. You don’t have to do it if you don’t wanna, I was really just being silly with a camera infront of me!”
Of course Renny seemed eager enough to go ahead anyway and Yumi wasn’t about to stop him. It instantly showed he had a bit of energy himself, and Yumi could feel the ‘cool kid’ vibe he was likely trying to give off with his words, giggling as he jabbed towards the camera, though jolting back at the sudden rip sound mixed in with it. She wasn’t about to interrupt his display though, and simply tilted her head to try and spot where the rip once once he’d finished his jabs, something Yumi assumed had to do with his quirk…either that or he was really, really fast naturaly. Either way it was pretty impressive, and instantly she thought of her classmates Kirk, with his muscles, Darren, with his speed quirk, and Melody, with her drive to be number one. She let a second or two tick by once he was done to give Emi the chance to edit this out (assuming she even would) before giggling a little and stepping closer, waving her hands down to offer encouragement.
“Don’t worry Renzo, I still burn most of my clothes off whenever they make me use my quirk here. Apparently they’re ordering in insulating, fire proof gym uniforms just for me next month so I don’t keep burning through ‘em.” She stuck her tongue out to punctuate her silly encouragement before walking about him to try and spot the tear. “Still, I’m sure if you find that rip you can just take it to the support classes…OH! Actually, my classmate Mari is working on designing hero suits, she could fix it. OH OH!” She jumped up. “ And you should totally meet Melody! She wants to be number one too!”
She then turned her eyes to Emi and grinned wide. “Oh and you should totally meet my classmate Darren. I don’t know how well you two would get along, but he went viral on the internet for a while after he beat up this shark guy on the streats? It was pretty cool! I bet he’d love the chance to be on camera more if you ever wanted to interview him or anything.”

“Expectations that you’re not living up to!” Emi tried (and failed) to add a stern edge to her voice, wagging her finger at the boy. She sounded much too enthusiastic for her words to hold any weight, and she seemed to realise it. Letting the two speak freely gave her more than enough time to clear her throat, calm herself a little and figure out her angle. Lecturing had done a good job of spurring Renzo into action, and him and Yumi had some decent chemistry, considering they barely knew each other. He even showed off what was either his quirk or some insane martial arts. It cost him his blazer, and a few giggles from Emi, but it was a good way to show himself off. There was no way she was going to cut that out.
“I like it! Good show, good show. Being generic won’t help you be famous! Everybody’s going to say they’ll be number one – even me, probably. Telling is better than nothing, but showing is way better than telling.” She was doing neither, but she was taking the time to listen. She gave the camera a devilish grin when Yumi mentioned her vanishing clothes, though she thought it was pretty telling that the class president thought tailoring should be relegated to the support classes. The girl raised an eyebrow, but said nothing about it.
Instead, she stepped out of the camera’s view to walk behind it. A static shot did the job, but some close-ups of her heroes could only improve the video. Her hands worked in sync to adjust the focus and zoom as she tightened the shot. “Can’t say I know much about a shark guy or a Darren, but I’ll keep an eye out! I’ve got lots of plans coming up, so if he’s smart, he’ll find me soon! So!” A hand on the tripod panned the camera up, and she switched to a close-up of Yumi. “Yumi ‘The Thunder’ of Class 1-C!” She moved over and up to Renzo. “And Ren ‘Lightning Fast’ Kimura! Or just Lightning! The first of many heroes-in-training we’ll meet at U.A.” She pulled back to get them both in view. “Is this the start of a beautiful friendship? Rivalry? Romance? Who knows, but I’m a little excited to find out! Any last words from you two?”

Holding his jacket in his hand and scanning across its exterior, he found two rips just beneath both arms; the result of having repeatedly stretched forward. Renzo shrugged off the embarrassment and slung the jacket over his shoulder, holding it with just a couple of fingers by the collar. He heard their innocent giggles and found solace in the fact that at least someone was entertained by the unfortunate circumstance. He wasn't an easily bothered youth. As for Emi, she had much higher expectations of him. "Ugh, you're so hard to please," he joked about Emi, rubbing the back of his neck. Maybe she wasn't tough to please and it was just his inability to stand out. There were few things very flashy about him, even his quirk looked pretty tame in comparison to someone who was capable of doing something more extravagant. "Oh well, I'm sure I'll get plenty of chances to stand out on camera. With your help of course," he quickly added to make sure Emi understood that for better or worse, she was stuck with him. Yumi's nickname for him had only just clicked with him; Renny, his name was unique enough that at this point he could live with just about any variation of the name someone came up with. Unless it was intentionally insulting, in which case they could just buzz right off. Yumi went to explain just how regular damaging or destroying her clothes were. His eyes widened. "Really? And the school is going to address this?" he restated, disappointed that he wasn't in time to see it happen himself. Though he tried not to give off that tone in his voice. A day may come when he convinces her to use her quirk... just to see what happens. However, today wasn't that day. "Well, I guess that's for the best." he finished, with a laugh and a lie. Nodding his head at meeting Mari to fix his uniform or this Melody girl, he had to commit the names to memory. He was being given information now and who knew when it might become relevant to know them. 'Wait what?'
"He fought a street shark?!" he exclaimed, clearly distraught by the lack of details. Ren was definitely going to have to step his game up. Not that he could really go out picking fights without consequence. However, Emi turned the camera to the two and gave them a chance to offer their closing words. He snapped his fingers and came up with an idea for his. "Prepare yourselves! For an adventure jam packed with new friendships, long-lasting rivalries, and tense high school roooomance! Stay tuned for: Emi, Yumi, and the adventures of Renzo!" he emphasized the title with a narrators voice for comedic effect, swiping his free hand overhead slowly across the air as if emblazoning the title. Renzo covered his mouth with his hand and spoke in a low voice to the two "All right's reserved and all likeness is purely coincidental." It wasn't quite how it all worked, but he just making a joke. -- Emi Ryoko Tachibana , Yumi Tasukai

Yumi looked back to Emi, tilting her head as Emi shifted the camera from it’s seemingly static shot of the gate. She giggled a little as she was given her title, popping her hips to the side and sticking her tongue out as she held up a playful peace sign, watching Renzo get the attention as he was having the camera put on him, giggling as they were deemed thunder and lightning, doubly cute given Yumi was actually planning for her hero name to be ‘curved lightning’ in due time. She would address Renzo’s questions in just a second, but turned her eyes to the camera again as Emi playfully called her little vlog the documentation of a budding romance, chuckling and rolling her eyes. Yumi was hardly the romantic, as much as rumors may have others to possibly believe otherwise. “Oh hush.~”
Smiling back to Renzo and Emi she nodded with her hands resting in the pockets she herself had sown into her skirt, nodding along. “Yeah Darren fought some guy with a shark based quirk. He was real gnarly looking but Darren managed to beat him with a smile on his face. It was pretty cool.” She then smirked at Renzo, no stranger to the teases she’d get about her quirk’s effect on her clothes. “And yes Renzo, they are.~ They got the fabric details off my friend who makes my costume, so they know how to make gym clothes that don’t burn away. I’ll probably still wear my electro-proof sports bra underneath the first time I try them though, just to be safe.~”
She then smiled back to both of them more equally and bowed her head. “Well it really is a pleasure to meet both of you! It’s a shame we’re in different classes, but that’s no reason we can’t be friends right?~”

Renzo was right – Emi was hard to impress, but the small smirk she showed suggested that she was fine with that. Expecting the best from people only encouraged her to find the best and surround herself with them. “Of course! Settling for the dull and generic makes you more like them! I’ve got no plans to drop to that level. So if you’ve got any thoughts of hanging around, you better have more up your sleeve!” Her tone was just light enough to question how serious she was. “There’s too much going on out there to waste time on the same-old, same-old.”
At least she wasn’t taking Yumi’s vanishing clothes nearly as seriously. It was good talk for the video, but she wasn’t about to make comments that would make them and her viewers question her sexuality. “Glad to see that the school’s taking care of its students! Makes me feel like I’m in safe hands.” And, more importantly, she knew that the school wasn’t cheap. If she had to stay in a stingy institution, she might have tried to get expelled within the week. Only the best would do for a little lady like herself.
Once again she let the two speak of a mysterious shark-fighter, and soon enough they got to chatter she was interested in! Renzo took full advantage of a chance to sign off, which meant he got an approving smile from her (and not another lecture). The class president stuck to a sweet and friendly farewell; a safe bet, but little more in her eyes. “All good! A few classrooms won’t be enough to stop friendship, so I’ll be seeing you both soon! But until then, stay super!” A second’s silence passed before she stopped recording, letting out a relieved sigh.
“Nice. That went way better than I expected.” She glanced up from the camera to its former subjects. “And you guys aren’t half-bad in front of a camera! Most people get nervous and flop when they’re put on the spot. Then again, if you were worried about that, you probably wouldn’t have stepped up.” She stood up straight and placed her hands on her hips. “Still! I should be thanking you both, so… thanks! You made my job a whole lot easier.” She removed the camera from its tripod stand, hanging the former from her neck by a convenient strap. As she folded up the tripod, she continued. “I meant everything I said, too. I don’t like just saying stuff for the camera. Feels fake. Anyway, if you guys do want to hang out, or have something in mind for an interesting video, just track me down! …Or, you know, if either of you feels like destroying your clothes for the camera. That works too.” The cheeky smirk returned, but only for a moment. Surprise took hold shortly after.
"Oh, damnit! I forgot an important question. ...Well, I'd still like to know the answer anyway. Both of you, tell me: Why are you at this school? What makes you want to be a hero?" She knew her reasons were largely selfish, but surely she couldn't be the only student searching for self-gain... Right? Gauging their responses would be a good way to determine how 'heroic' her new peers were, if they would give her an honest answer.

(If Renzo wants to post, apparently kyo tried getting in touch with you so just keeping things going, won’t make any assumptions on what happened to Renzo this post but will probably say they went to class next post or something if needs be)
Yumi smirked as the vlogger and the fighter had their teasing back and forths. Not too sure how close they were pushing it to being late for class, but they’d all gotten to the gate pretty early all things considered so they probably had a fair chunk of time in the end. When her new clothes were addressed she put on a smile. “Yeah, I mean, odds are I might still be able to fry them as I get stronger, but I’ve started wearing my super suit under most of my clothes anyway as a precaution, ya know, like some of the pros do.~” She stuck out her tongue with an extra bright smile at that.
“Yeah, it’ll be great seeing you both around. Heheheh. Stay super!~” She smiled as she micked Emi’s little ‘tagline’ with that and rested her hands behind her back, enjoying the light compliments the vlogger was giving her. “I’d love to hang out some time, totally. I hate being fake too. I struggle to even tell white lies ya know?”
With the final question, Yumi was a little thrown…but for now she’d answered this honestly enough, and was confident in her answer as she delivered it. “Honestly? Those are two different questions for me. I came to this school cause my quirk…I had no control over it. It seemed to do nothing but hurt people around me, so I wanted to prove I could put it to use for something good. I planned to drop out the moment I had a handle on things…but…” She wasn’t sure if the Camera was actually rolling or anything but spoke from the heart regardless. “Seeing everyone who came here, to do good, find fame, money, or glory…they’re infectious. I want a little bit of everything because of them. I see the people who want fame and I can’t deny my name in lights isn’t repulsive. Money…who can say no to it? But most of all, I want to help people…it’s a weird way to put it, but I don’t see myself making the world a great, happy place…I just want everyone to be…comfortable. Content. Glee is nice now and then, but I’ll settle for helping people feel safe in their homes, in their cities, and in their lives…”
“Heh…s-sorry to ramble.”

“Under your uniform? That sounds… uncomfortable.” She didn’t look up from folding up her tripod, but the confusion was evident in her voice. “I guess you’ve gotta do what you’ve gotta do. It’s better than being stuck nude in the open, anyway.” Emi shuddered. “Yeah, if anybody here caught me naked… The only option would be to drop out. Of Japan. I hear there are other hero schools to run away to.” Her tone made it hard to tell whether or not she was joking. If she wasn’t, at least Yumi stealing her sign-off seemed to lift her spirits.
“Yeah, that’s my line! I haven’t figured out whether it’s too cheesy or just so cheesy that it wraps around to being charming. Hopefully it’s the second one, but if not, I’ll just make it that way!” Idly exuding confidence seemed to be the girl’s strong point, given that she was too busy stowing her equipment away to look at Yumi properly. That was, until the girl began giving her speech. Her gaze slowly drew from the tripod she was folding up and her former muse.
Once again, Emi found herself counting her blessings. Life had gone downhill for her as soon as her quirk manifested, but house arrest in a comfortable house wasn’t much of a punishment. Inconveniencing, let alone harming anybody with her quirk needed focus, or a streak of bad luck. She’d never had to live in a world where she had to worry about losing her clothes because of her gift (which would be terrible, because her outfits were not cheap), or being a danger to people around her. Well, her parents acted like she was a threat, but only to their livelihood, not their lives. And yet, the girl in front of her had suffered that and more, and still managed to stand with a smile on her face, bold enough to share her feelings with any stranger that asked.
She really wished she had been recording. The camera was already dangling from her neck, and even if she could somehow start it up without Yumi noticing, the angle would be terrible, and she had missed most of the talk. A shame - it was exactly the kind of passion she needed. But perhaps, this one time, it would be fine to appreciate another person’s words for what they were, and not as another piece of content.
There was something to take from her words, though. When she’d joined the school, she couldn’t care less about being a hero for the sake of it, but the school and its students had changed her. Was that what was going to happen to her too? Was that something to be happy about? She had no idea.
‘Wait’, the girl thought, her eyes focusing on Yumi instead of through her. She’d managed to lose herself in her thoughts yet again. “Ah, I guess you’ve got a lot of good points there!” It was an oddly unengaging answer, and even she seemed to realise that. That might have been why she finally showed a small frown, looking away from the girl for a moment. “I wasn’t expecting all of that. Not that it’s a problem! I just didn’t think you’d have much of an answer. Or anybody, really. It’s good, though! Good… to know.” She furrowed her brow for a moment. There was a perfect opportunity to explain what had brought her to UA, but she quickly decided that that would be a quick way to lose whatever standing she had with the girl.
So instead, she put on her smile, just as cheery as before. “You sound like you’d be perfect for another vlog later, Yumi! There’s no time for it now, but I want to hear the story of our up-and-coming heroes! I think there’s a lot that should be shared, and a lot to learn from the struggles and the stories. So, if you see me around – who am I kidding, we will see each other around – I’d like to talk some more! For now, though… I think we might need to head to class!”
