Wow, his stay at the infirmary, contrary to what he had been lead to believe in the first few moments, well, two hours to be exact of his stay where he'd be treated and examined, he thought he'd just be alone, to be left to the mercy of the nurses and the definitely mentally unstable lead doctor and scientist. Who the fuck let him be on the forefront of the army's medical staff? Who could muster that level of mental impairment, for fucks sake!? Every moment spent in the infirmary, it felt to Maxi as if he was getting in more and more danger, as if he'd have a billion needles stuck into him with some sort of wonder drug to test out his ice powers against his will, or give him a whole new limb and see how that works with an ice quirk. Something weird like that. It'd definitely happen, yeah.
Back on track, Maxi. Yes, he was still contemplating just how nice friends of his, mostly the ones he barely ever talked to actually came to visit him. Sean, the teacher, ..some others.., it was a good experience all-around, to know you have friends who will visit you when you are down and sick. To know that there are people that care about you, your well being and your person. A stark contrast to what he was used to, truthfully, very recently in his life. In England, no one really cared about him in general. Be it his fearsome powers, his unbound perversion, his occasional bouts of arrogance over the quirkless that quite well bordered on racism which, thankfully, his parents had whipped him out of -- no one gave a shit when anything happened to him. Even at U.A., until recently, no one really cared about him either. Yeah he had gotten friends, though the sour and still very much open emotional wound lied that, while he was recovering from the deep scar burns on his arms, no one had actually spent the time of day to actually care about him. Only the doctors and Ms. Sophie, really and no one else.
Wounds like those don't close or aren't forgotten easy, even if he has forgiven everyone he could possibly ever blame. Even something like that was not nearly enough to break through the surprisingly strong shield called "forgiveness" that he always proudly wore with him. Now, it just had a little FUCKING MASSIVE golden-colored gash upon it, nothing too much, nothing too dangerous, just enough to make him genuinely want to kill another human being. Trivial stuff, really -- didn't even matter.
Shitty sarcasm aside, he knew very well of his first persistant failure to forgive someone, that one being Jasmine, of course. Ever since those catastrophic events at Music Night, where he saw Jasmine for what, to this day, he is sure of being the real "her", he had never found it in his heart to forgive -- au contraire, he actually constantly and viciously fought against his own nature to never forgive her for what she has done, for what she represents. What exactly? What in the fuck did she ever represent, he just couldn't say it, he just didn't know. Surely, a subject so heinous it never crossed his mind.
It had to. He needed to have it cross his mind so he could finally be the higher man about it, to finally make reasonable, sensible choices and to not let his judgement be clouded by pure hatred. Even with hatred, a truly wise hero should be rational, tempered and careful. Some choices he possibly could do in the future could bring huge consequences, either good or bad. If only, oh if only he had someone to talk to about this, someone that would get him.
Someone that was there that night.

Akio was in the camps infirmary getting patched up after his spar with Melody, he was obviously in pain and he wanted to make sure Melody hadn't done any serious damage accidentally, after his first fight with her he knew that she could pack a serious punch. The medic cleared him and said he was all good, just some scratches, scrapes and bruises, nothing uncommon after a sparring match. Akio thanked the medic was about to leave when someone else in the infirmary caught his eye. He walked up to the blue haired boy and waved "Hey Maxi, you're here too? Did you get hurt or something or are you doing some kind of quirk testing?" Akio asked as he walked up to the bed Maxi was laying in "I just finished up a sparring match and came to make sure I didn't sustain any lasting or serious damage," Akio explained why he was here as he grabbed a nearby chair, placed it next to Maxi's bed and sat down on it.
"So, how have you been? I haven't seen you since that music room meeting we had with Elise, about that shitty night," Akio said, once again remembering the music night where he acted like a complete asshole

His thoughts couldn't help but keep wandering towards that night, how it made his life take such a horrible turn to a path of violence and duty that he never wished to partake in. Even worse now that no one seemed to realize the evil that Jasmine truly was. It couldn't be him, he refused to accept that, for even a second, he was on the wrong, that the golden monster herself wasn't the evil one, that he was just projecting unto her what he desired to project, to see her as being. He wouldn't accept the ever passing, though very much lingering thought that he was just using her as an excuse to mask his own inability to internalize and accept defeat, to accept his own wrong doing.
He always had been adept at forgiving others, but no one had taught him to forgive himself...
On another note, speak of the devil, someone who was there and nearly as badly involved as he was in this whole shitshow, Mr. Akio himself, also here with him on the infirmary! Just a check up on his health after a simple sparring match, nothing much. The question about him getting hurt or doing some kind of quirk testing was hard to answer actually, since it was much of both, to be quite clear. Well, giving him the raw truth as he knew it would always be the best step. "Both, actually. I got my dumbass fingers frostbitten because I was so excited to use my quirks with the weapons I forgot to take care of myself. Sent here for treatment and they asked me to stay for a while longer so they could run some tests. Had no reason to say no and they even gave me a muffin." It was sad that he couldn't show Akio that he had gotten a muffin out of the ordeal, since it was really deep in his tummy, he couldn't just show what was in his tummy without an operation table or well, dying. None of which he was looking towards to right now.
God damnit, he can't avoid the subject for long, can he? He could just go thinking about silly shit like going to an operating table so that they can open up his stomach, so that he could show Akio the half-digested muffin that he had eaten, it didn't change the fact that what had happened that night still weighted on his mind and that God had been as kind as to lay upon his lap a perfect oppurtunity to talk about it to someone that was there. Heh, it was actually catastrophically convenient, really. God really could be kind to him sometimes. "I was wondering.. Could you uh.. be as kind as to listen to some things I have in mind? Y'know, about that night?" There it was, the question he has been fearing to ask for so long, but that he is forcing himself to do right now. Now only Akio could make sure this didn't go to shit in record time.

Akio was surprised to hear that Maxi was in the infirmary for both reasons. He'd gotten himself hurt from his own quirk giving him frostbite and while he was here he let them run some tests "Hurting yourself after getting too excited with the military weapons? Sounds like a little kid on Christmas morning," Akio said with a chuckle "At least you got a muffin out of it, muffins are always nice," he continued as he leaned back in the chair. Maxi then asked him a question that he honestly didn't expect, he wanted to talk about that night. That dreadful music night, the night he met Elise, the night he berated Jaz and Rin in front of a crowd of at least 200 people, the night he let his emotions take control and he hurt more people than he helped. Come to think of it, I still need to apologize to Rin he thought to himself before shaking his head. Maxi had something he wanted to talk about, so Akio would hear him out. Akio nodded "That night sure was a shitshow, wasn't it?" he said as he leaned forward in the chair "Sure, I'll hear you out, what's on your mind?" he asked taking a deep breath and readying himself to delve back into that night.

Well, look at that. A person who is willing to listen to the problems of his soul, while also being a person who was present for that night -- then, why couldn't he bring himself to confess it? He had his words, from what he felt, clogged deep in his chest, words that revealed everything to Aki: his feelings of inadequacy and failure, his perceived betrayal by Rin when she sided with the monster and, of course, the monster himself that no one else seemed to see. From what he knew, he was in the right this entire time and, surely, Akio would agree with him! He was more than intelligent enough to agree.
Deep down though, this was all him illuding himself into thinking this. The entire time, Rin had been the thoughtful one who considered just how guilty Jasmine must have felt for making her suffer. This entire time, Jasmine's "monstrosity" was nothing more than a severe exaggeration of a honest mistake where something that was supposed to be romantic took a turn. This entire time, only he had a clouded vision and mind, while everyone else were simply normal, smart people who saw it as a mistake.
That this entire time, all he was doing was projecting his own insecurities.
One day or another, Maximillian would either have that be told or shown it to him by someone or, god forbid, he'd actually com to realize this by himself. For now, his mind was foggy and his vision blinded, he knew nothing of the world, of other people. Never had he properly given the time to think on the other person's perspective, as he was dampened by his own hubris. "Yeah uh.. Jasmine. I can't find reason for everyone's apparent ignorance. She's evil, she's malicious.. and yet, no one notices it. Not even RIN notices it! S-She.. she actually defended Jasmine, can you believe it!?" His affirmations were really mostly false, though his conviction was a huge confirmation on the fact that he vehemently believed this: he believed everything he said, with hilariously strong confidence on their veracity: after all, how could someone as clear-minded as he ever be wrong!?

Akio waited for Maxi to speak, thoughts going through his own head I wonder why he wants to talk about that night? I mean obviously there's some lingering feelings about what happened but what feelings? Akio thought to himself as Maxi began to speak. It was about Jasmine, he apparently can't find reason for everyone's apparent ignorance, saying she's evil and malicious but no one notices it, not even Rin, he was also upset that she had defended Jasmine. Akio took a moment to gather his thoughts and then proceeded to speak "I don't think what Jasmine did on stage that night was meant to be malicious to anyone, she just wanted to show her love for Rin, she just chose a bad way of going about it," he explained as he turned to face Maxi "They're roommates, they're good friends so it's no surprise that Rin defended her but, even so, she didn't do anything that bad," he continued "The only reason I verbally attacked her was because of how Elise was feeling, I just saw her looking so helpless and sad and it, it brought bad memories back, so my emotions ran wild, it was a mistake," he told him as he finished, then he realized something "Say, you seemed pretty upset at the music night and even now with how you've talked about Jasmine, is there some history between you and her?" he asked, curious as to why he was so deadset on hating Jaz

Story between him and Jasmine? God, what was not there to talk about when it came to her, to that monster? That filthy being that terrorized him and his thoughts every time he closed his eyes at night, that filthy degenerate who treated everyone with the most disgusting amount of contempt. The one who only looked at Rin because she knew the poor innocent girl would side with her. The lesbian monster who only "smiled" to girls to get in their pants. In his philosophy, if you're going to be a hypersexual hornmonster, at least do it like he did and own up to it, don't hide. A soft exhalation from his nose, as Maxi simply let his uncovered, deeply scarred arms stay in the clear from his gown. "Even disregarding the fact that she burned my arms like this, let me enlighten you on how much I fucking hate this turbo lesbian degenerate of a thing that calls itself "Jasmine". She. Is a self righteous, downright retarded, hypersexual, hypocritical sex deviant, a condescending, god-complexed, perverse and lecherous being, a fucking depressing parody of all that is and can be wrong with a person." Aki might have not noticed it at first, either be it by his natural two states of either hot or cold, either be it by Maximillian's surprising passion when it came to condemning Jasmine, but the place around Maximillian, the walls, the floor, even some machinery were getting frozen. The boy's eyes shone a deep golden while his ice spread around to the outer limit as much as it did, garnering a good amount of attention, attention he hadn't even noticed.
The strain might be rough on his already tired body, though when one is as blind in hatred as he is, he really won't notice for a while, unless alerted to it. "Everything she has done up to now has been continuous proof of the detestable fucking filthy villain that Jasmine is on the inside and, for some fucking unjustifiable reason, nobody god damn sees it! Do they have to be beaten within an inch of their life during a spar and shown nothing but contempt to open their FUCKING EYES!? TELL ME!
..Tell me, Aki. Why won't they notice?"

Apparently there was some history between Maxi and Jaz, that she apparently was the cause of his burned arms Wow, she did that much damage to his arms? Man I was picking a fight with the wrong person that night, if she wanted to, she could've killed me Akio thought to himself as he listened to the rest of what Maxi had to say. He called her a "self righteous, downright retarded, hypersexual, hypocritical sex deviant, a condescending, god-complexed, perverse and lecherous being, a fucking depressing parody of all that is and can be wrong with a person", which Akio thought was a little harsh but, then again he didn't know her that well. He then made the point that only a villain would burn his arms like that and not show a shred of remorse or give an apology Wait, she didn't even apologize for what she did to his arms? Ok, that's kind of fucked up he thought to himself. As Maxi started getting angrier and angrier Akio felt the room cool down and saw ice even began to form in the room around them, Akio put a hand on Maxi's shoulder "Hey Maxi, calm down, you're going to freeze the entire room," he alerted him to the ice that was starting to form. Maxi then told Akio that everything she's done proves that she's a detestable villain and asked him if it takes being beaten within an inch of their life during a spar and shown nothing but contempt before they realized. He asked why anyone won't notice it
"I don't know what to tell you Maxi, I guess emotion is clouding their judgement. I don't know her too well so I can't make any judgements yet but, I will keep what you said in mind, honestly, the fact that she did that to your arms and didn't even offer an apology, that makes me really angry," Akio told him. What kind of person does that to someone and doesn't even offer an apology? Akio thought to himself as he realized he should probably start using his quirk to melt some of the ice that Maxi had created, placing his hands on the floor to melt the ice there and then moving on to the walls. He didn't want to touch the machinery because he didn't want to risk breaking anything.

He agreed..? Shit, he actually agreed! By the great god above that dearly loves him so, there was someone in this dreary world that agreed with him! Indeed, against everything that the boy had sadly grown accostumed to, that being having his concerns disregarded, called crazy or even just ignored, having someone listen felt awesome. Finally, he had someone trustful that he could confide in when it came to his deeper, slightly more concerning frustrations and concerns, he had someone he could share some of those darker, meaner secrets with and not be afraid of being judged, since Akio understood him!
Sighing in slight relief, he was about to say something until he pointed out that he was freezing the entire place, an embarrassed flush coming to his face. Oh dear, that was not something he should do! He controlled his own powers, calming himself down as to not let ice spread through the entire room. "You're right, sorry 'bout that. Still.. it feels good to have someone that understands. I don't judge ya for not making the same judgements I've made yet, though I know you'll make them eventually. You aren't stupid, I see that." Maxi said with a clear voice and full confidence in him, feeling as if he was someone good, someone to keep around. Maximillian didn't have a lot of friends he felt he could truly trust, that he knew that they wouldn't let him down like others seemed to love doing. No, Akio, no matter what his power may actually be or his fighting ability, Akio was smart, understanding and rational. He'd never let him down.

Maxi let out a sigh and when Akio alerted him to his ice a flush came over his face and he stopped the freezing, Akio finished melting the bits of ice that had formed, leaving small puddles on the ground, Maxi apologized for his freezing and said he didn't blame Akio for not making those judgements yet, but he would "I might but Maxi, if I come to a different conclusion, I don't want you being mad or putting me on some shitlist because I disagree with you, if I do come to the same conclusion as you then everything will be okay, but if I don't, I want you to understand that I CAN be friendly with both of you, so no matter what happens, I still want to be on good terms with you okay?" Akio asked as he looked at Maxi, his face becoming serious "I still feel really bad for what I did that night, even if Jaz acted poorly, I don't think it was right for me to call her out in front of the whole audience and I even hurt Rin, I heard that she was abducted that night.....which wouldn't have happened if I hadn't caused a scene and caused her to run out of the venue," Akio said as his eyes widened with the realization, he'd never really thought about it before but now that he was thinking about it, it dawned on him "What happened to Rin was my fault, if I hadn't said those things, if I hadn't caused that scene, i-if I hadn't done that, she would've still been in the venue, safe, surrounded by her friends, she wouldn't have been outside, it's all my fault," Akio said, his head hanging in shame, tears starting to fall from his eyes

He really does need to rein that quirk in sometimes, it feels as if it has a mind of its own and it really isn't an agreeable thing! Really, this shit has happened several times through the years, his quirk simply going with what he was feeling and acting on its own, even after he had attained greater control over it! When he was a child, where he'd be bummed and his quirk would lash out and destroy everything in his premise, when he'd throw a tantrum and everything would freeze.
These days, now that he was in a hero school and put constantly into stressful positions and fights, his unruly quirk was finally making its appearance again: when emotionally stressed, specially when angry, the area around him just kept freezing completely, sometimes even lashing out violently like before. When particularly depressed, the area itself started freezing as well, not violently, though at a depressing, quiet rate.
Maximillian would have to look into this, his quirk that did things without his permission, that acted in ways he didn't desire it to do. He'd have to somehow make his quirk obey his commands though, this very moment, he had to speak to Akio.
"I understand the difficult choices you have to make." He didn't say anything else, god, he couldn't say anything else or else he'd get overly emotional again, specially with what seemed to have happened to Rin. Meh though, Rin is extremely strong, probably the strongest quirked fighter in Japan, even if abducted, the fact that she's back at U.A. and with no apparent injuries told him that she had dealt with her abductor, gave him an ass whooping and came back. For that reason, he couldn't be here and tolerate Akio crying like a pansy, even lightly smacking the back of his head.
"Quit ya bitchin, man. Crying over what you did when you can instead look to the future where you can do something great is the biggest shame a man can suffer." A little bit hypocritical if anyone knew Maxi's private life, though he himself knew better that dwelling on something that he couldn't change instead of focusing on what he can shape for the future is quite the shameful thing, one that he is still doing his best to focus on. Maybe by teaching others, Maximillian could teach himself.

Maxi said that he understands the choices that Akio had to make, though he looked a little spaced out so Akio wasn't sure he heard everything he said, but just shrugged it off. As Akio was hanging his head he felt a smack to the back of his head which made his head snap up and look at Maxi, then Maxi told him to quit bitching and that crying over what he did in the past instead of looking to the future is the biggest shame a man can suffer, Akio wiped the tears that were falling from his eyes "I know that, I know it's just.....as a future hero I'm meant to stop people from suffering but instead I caused it, I can't help thinking about what I've done wrong, it's just who I am I guess," he said with a shrug, he couldn't help but regret what he did that night, he knew it wouldn't help anything but, he still couldn't seem to get over it "I guess I've still got some growing to do mentally as well as physically before I can become an actual hero huh?" he said with a slight chuckle as he looked at Maxi
