It was bizarre. She could never have imagined herself standing in the middle of a military base but here she was. Though she had made the decision to come there, Maria still wasn't fully sure what to make of it. On some level, she felt that, given her background as a villain, she was supposed to have some sort of inherent dislike for the military and similar governmental institutions. An unspoken animosity between her and anyone in uniform. But, she really didn't feel much of anything. She couldn't say that she found the came to be particularly exciting, but everyone there seemed to just be doing their job. Of course, there was plenty of "military types" around, the uptight ones who seemed to be standoffish with most civilians and who particularly enjoyed shouting for some reason. Yet, Maria was no forced to interact with them and she didn't care to start of her own volition. She was walking trough the camp minding her own business and by the looks of it everyone was just fine with that. Naturally, the situation was somewhat specific considering that Maria was not the only civilian there. Farm from it, around Maria there were countless other civilians, many of them being students from U.A. Academy. The camp was specifically there to be open to quirk from the common populace, as a means for the military to get a better grip on quirks and what they could potentially mean for the future of the military.
Maria herself couldn't say she really cared for any of that. The military was never something truly on her mind. Even with how strict her father had been around the time when she left home, she couldn't imagine her family pushing her into a career like that or wanting to have anything to do with the military in the first place. That being said, Maria still came to the base for a reason, two reasons in fact. Her main motivation was actually beyond simple. She hoped she'd see Rin. Students were regulars at the military base and seeing that there was a camp specifically set up for medical training, Maria reckoned that there was a high chance that Rin would be one of the visitors. Whie the chances weren't too high, she still hoped that she'd run into the raven haired student. Maria's secondary objective was a bit more in line with the purpose this base had been set up for in the first place. The medical teams present at the site, apparently did quirk examinations, looking into the effects of quirks as well as their drawbacks and other effects the quirk might have on a user's body. Maria was always somewhat fascinated by the topic of quirk research, or rather she became fascinated by it once she actively started using her own quirk. She regularly read books on the topic, but she never really had the opportunity to take part in something like this. While her curiosity for the subject was enough to lure her out all on its own, she also couldn't help but wonder if what she learned there could actually help her in some way. maria was absolutely positive her quirk affected her mood in the morning. To say that she wasn't a morning person would be an understatement. While that aspect of her quirk was a nuisance at most, she still wondered at times if she could counteract it somehow.
Maria made her way trough the base, taking note of the various tents set up. Her search would come to an end once she found the right tent or once she found Rin. Whichever happened first.
