Aeris Leon Teacher 1-A || Fantasy || Danse de Fee The Devil's Advocate is staring right through your lies. It was shortly after ten at night. Most of the people were already in bed getting ready for the next day. Mondays were evil no matter who you were. At the local 87 convenience store, standing under the sign that was bananas aligned to look like the number 87, Aeris was reading a issue of Hero Weekly, featuring an interview with professional rescuee Misaka, and sipping on a can of Seabun Triple Caffinated Coffee with real Milk. The teacher, usually very fashionable, was in a sports top and sweatpants. Her long white hair kept free with a short sleeved hoodie draped over her shoulder.
The chirp of her phone let her know that the Cuddlebug Virtual pet had gone to sleep for the night. She called this particular generation Dauwz after she showed it to a couple grade schoolers on the way to class and they could only say dawww. Perhaps the one little joy she had today. This week was preparing for the Mission training. Class lessons were being handled by the class while she took on the project of building the rooms. LB Construction had quite a few dedicated workers and really knew how to keep on the job at hand, despite any distractions like explosions from Jasmine just over thier shoulders.
Time was starting to wear on the teacher as she started to walk back to her apartment. Posters of the new American Import Cartoon 'Sporky's Wild Adventures' were being placed up. Seemed it was going to start next month on channel 7. She usually had an episode of 'Battlefield Surgeon Bones, PhD' on for background noise while she was reading over reports. Sometimes an episode of Blanco from Spain undubbed so she could keep up with European news. Her mind clearing with the quiet night air, caused her to think about what was normally on her mind if she allowed it. Nick. As proud of her students as she was, Nick was the one student who she was honestly worried about. Levi had Maxi. Rin had Jasmine. Nick. He didn't even have a path yet. She had to find him and bring him back to the school, kicking and screaming if neccesary.

Nick was beginning to forget what it was like to have a good night’s sleep. The times he actually managed to drift away after hours of tossing and turning met him with flashes of red; visions that usually involved him being chased through twisted, warped versions of places he knew and a familiar voice’s pained sobs followed by a scream of I hate you. Every time he woke again with a strangled cry, a layer of cold sweat clinging to his body.
This agonising lack of sleep was what had driven him to the local convenience store at such a late hour. He had thought that perhaps a walk would calm him, and he could get something to eat while he was out. He did not feel much calmer as he selected a bag of crisps from the aisle, however; on the inside he merely felt hollow and rotten, as though he had just thrown up.
He wore a simple baggy hoodie with the hood pulled up over his head and the slightly too short trousers Nari had given him. He dared not make eye contact with anyone as he paid for his crisps at the self-service machine and made for the exit.
Unfortunately, this unwillingness to show his face meant he was not fully looking where he was going, which lead to him colliding straight with another. Immediately he froze as he recognised this person’s features all too well. He would recognise her even if they were in the middle of crowd – Aeris Leon. One of the world’s first professional heroes and, most notably, his former teacher at Yuuei. A million curse words exploded through his head in rapid succession as his heartbeat increased tenfold. What the hell did he do now?
He quickly decided there was only one thing he could do.
“Sorry,” he mumbled and hurriedly continued walking at the briskest possible pace.
Shit shit shit. Of all the people he could have run into. Why her? Why here? He truly did have the worst imaginable luck. Please don’t let her have recognised me, he desperately begged the universe in his mind.

Aeris Leon Teacher 1-A || Fantasy || Danse de Fee The Devil's Advocate is staring right through your lies. As she stopped to check on her little Dauwz, she felt a bump to her back. The sound that came from the collision included a sort of posh, yet low, elegant English Sorry. The butterfly in the night just gave a grin as the hooded figure walked around her. Guess things weren't going to be that simple tonight. Slipping on the short sleeved hoodie, she freed her hair out the back and waited til he got a few steps away.
"Pas de souci, Mr. Cross" As separated as she was from her students, she knew each and every single one of their voices. She tapped her phone and placed it in her hoodie pocket. The camera lens sticking out above the cloth. "It has been a while since you have been in class. I hope you have a good reason."
Her sneakers lightly padded the pavement as she walked towards and yet away from Nick. Her aim was a bench situated just to his right, by the wall of the street ramp. Graffitti of Rubber Wolfe on the cold grey stones was the lone splash of color besides the Epsi cola poster lightly faded by the weather. As she sat back, her arms flopped over the back of the bench, creating a general haven, a show that she had no intentions on attacking or capturing right now. Her legs crossed as she was getting comfortable to just talk.

Of course, when Nick had begged the universe for his former teacher not to recognise him, he had forgotten one simple fact: the universe despised every molecule of his being.
As such, the words ‘Monsieur Cross’ froze him as though he were a video playback and someone had hit ‘pause’. Tension descended on him and he bared his teeth.
He shot her a glare from beneath his hood that could have withered the Amazon rainforest, frozen molten lava and made the most savage of wild animals cower in fear.
“You of all people should know exactly what the reason is,” he hissed.
He did not have to spell it out for her. She had not only taught him, but also taught Rin as well. And it was Rin he had taken against her will, Rin he had tried to hold captive, Rin he had harmed – all for nothing. He knew. He certainly did not need to be reminded of it.
He kept walking. He did his best to ignore Aeris as she settled on a nearby bench. He had nothing to say to her and he refused to play her game. He had little doubt she would try to follow him, however, and as such braced himself, the growth on his back twitching as it anticipated a fight.

Aeris Leon Teacher 1-A || Fantasy || Danse de Fee Quote Here Aeris simply watched as he kept walking. I mean of course he did. If not even Rin liked her, what chance was there that Nick would give her the time of day. The French maiden just stayed sitting there for a time, letting him get a few more steps. Her eyes closed as she parted her lips. She let out a soft sigh before she spoke again.
"Cold sweats. Restless nights of tossing and turning. Flashes of red. Strange visions. Feeling hollow and rotten." Her left eye opened up seeing if the boy had stopped from the list of symptoms she described. Not only was she a crime fighter and teacher, she was also a student of Philosophy and studied that of both heroes and villains to attempt to instill what was mentally needed to be able to fight the forces of evil. And one of the biggest tools used was understanding.
"Your nights have been quite eventful, have the not? Come sit. You have nothing to loose right now. I am still your teacher Mr. Cross." Her body posture had not changed since she sat down. Her eyes now both opened to see her student, head turning if he was still walking away.

Once again Aeris demonstrated her ability to throw Nick for a loop. He did not stop, but slowed down somewhat and glanced over his shoulder, not quite able to mask the look that reflected the confusion he felt within.
For his former teacher, somehow, had managed to produce a frighteningly, almost too accurate description of exactly what he had been going through ever since that night with Rin.
A familiar anger burned through him at the audacity of this woman trying to act like she understood him and he grimaced. “You’re a little late to psychoanalyse me. Just don’t even try.” His fists balled, the bitterness in his words becoming razor sharp as he continued; “You know, if you’d analysed me sooner, maybe nothing ever would have happened. But you didn’t. Some teacher you are. I’ll pass.”
In truth he would not have sat with her regardless of what she said. He would not have sat with her if she were offering him all the money in the world. He instead increased his pace and continued on his miserable way.
If she wanted to get anything out of him then she was going to have to follow him. He would not bend to her will. Those days were long gone, whether she believed it or not.

Aeris Leon Teacher 1-A || Fantasy || Danse de Fee The Devil's Advocate is staring right through your lies. "Quel petit coquin." She shook her head as he continued walking away. Well it seemed that counseling would have to wait until he was sitting in front of the Principal. Taking out her smart phone from her breast pocket, she activated the streaming feature on the U.A. chat room for 1-A. Since it was a 1-A issue and all the teachers could see into 1-A's chat she made sure it wasn't a universal stream. Then deftly she slid it back into her breast pocket, making sure the lens stayed clear.
"Nicholas Cross. I will see you in my office now." The Seabun Coffee bottle, 1/3 filled was flung through the air like a dart, aiming to strike between his shoulder blades. She stood up and levels her body toward the sixteen year old. Her left knee bent as her body went up on her toes. Without heels it was going to be a little tougher. She might even have to use her secret weapon.
The camera had enough light so the watchers could see exactly what you could see from her breast pocket. Though it being so late on a school night, there may not be enough watchers, but it was a recording saved on the school servers. Her hands clapped out a beat similar to a Flaminco song as she tapped her raised heel in the air. "Shall we dance?

Sure enough, as Nick was anticipating Aeris shifted to a more forceful means of negotiation. He heard her moving and glanced over his shoulder in time to dodge the bottle, which missed him by a hair’s breadth.
His fists clenched, his body trembled. He breathed. In, out.
And laughed.
“It’s quite unprofessional of you to attack a former student out in the open, don’t you think?” He raised his head now so she could see the grin on his face that was colder than the Arctic wastes. “You’re not exactly setting a good example here. And you’re supposed to be one of the world’s first pros!”
There was no real mirth inside him, however. All he felt was boiling, bitter rage. He wanted to be left alone. Apparently, everything in the universe had not gotten that message and sought to do the opposite instead.
The grin was gone completely as he glared at her. “Why’s it so hard for you to comprehend, hag? You’re acting like you know me, but if you did, you’d know Yuuei is the worst possible place you could take me to.”
But maybe that was what she wanted. Perhaps she wanted him to endure his enraged classmates and God knew what the principal would dish out. To face repercussions. Of course. Like a true Pro Hero expected all lawbreakers to do.
“I. Refuse.”
There was still so much he had to do. So much he had to become. And she thought she could stop that?
Unable to hold back any longer, his growth spat out its black fluid which spilled over his body and took the shape of his armour. Just as she had expected, he had little doubt, but he was too enraged to care.
He summoned every ounce of the enhanced strength his Quirk granted him and sprinted towards her. He pushed off into the air, aiming to spring over her. As he landed black, slimly, pulsating tendrils burst from each of his palms and he spun like a cyclone with his arms fully outstretched in an attempt to strike her, trip her up or both.

Aeris Leon Teacher 1-A || Fantasy || Danse de Fee The Devil's Advocate is staring right through your lies. The tone of voice was definitely not one that expressed regret. But it was loud enough for the microphone to pick up through her thin cotton. She stayed her stance as he began charging her, his armor coming up showing the seriousness in his needs. Though when he called her a hag this meant he had a need to die of a broken neck. The teacher, out of sight of the camera frowned as he suddenly leapt over her. Undoubtedly trying to utilize three dimensional fighting against an opponent he did not know the abilities of. Poor soul. He should have stayed in class longer.
With him going straight up and without twist, it left a weak spot open that normally would not be expected in a fair fight. Time slowed down as the Fantasy came to life, shrinking and shooting straight up out of her clothes. Her feet twisting upwards as she sought to intercept Nick in mid air. The flying dart aimed at the Weakest point of the male body. "Fairy Dust Break! The camera lens tracking up into the air as it fell with her clothing. The entire class could see the intention and the impact if it landed. This would ruin the secret of her quirk for her entire class, and maybe the school at large, but, she needed this fight to end quickly. Knowing Rin and jasmine, they may try to come once they learn about it.

Nick had leapt over her because he had expected her to meet his head on charge. Evidently she did not play that way.
She missed him by mere millimetres as he landed and spun. His momentum came to an end and he sprang back, eyes locked on the tiny version of the irritating hag who had stood before him only seconds ago.
So that’s how it is.
Hitting an opponent so small was not exactly going to be easy for a melee-oriented brawler such as himself. So, he exploded into a swinging frenzy, throwing his whips everywhere and anywhere whilst spinning again in an attempt to cover as much space as possible, not giving her a chance to get near him if he could.
“You know why I did it?” he yelled. “Love. I love her and I know she’ll never love me but I wanted to feel just once like there was something!” Something there was not and that there never would be. He knew that all too well. His actions had only served to remind him of this harsh truth with all the pain of a knife made of the coldest ice being slowly pushed into his chest.

Aeris Leon Teacher 1-A || Fantasy || Danse de Fee The Devil's Advocate is staring right through your lies
With a mass of tendril flung randomly at her, Aeris had to utilize her speed and size in order to avoid as many as she could. When one hit her, it was akin to a baseball bat against the arm. She would get flung easy when ever she was hit. But the little fairy had whips of her own. After a few seconds, Letting the young lad vent out what she didn't even ask about. He would start to find webbing trailing onto and around the tendrils. Aeris webs were starting to get wound around them. While her student had more control than she did, she utilized his flailing to get her web around more and more surface, soon binding them together with a sharp pull of the thread.
"I understand love. I am from France, Country of Love after all. There were other ways to profess yourself to her. And while it could have been disasterous, trust me on that one, you could have still been around her. But Kidnapping? There was something deeper in mind. Something maybe you haven't even let out to yourself yet. Stealing is never a temporary plan." Releasing her web, knowing that Nick could out muscle her, she instead went for another kick. Full speed dive aimed straight for his head. Her large blue wings glistening under the lamp light like an annoying moth.

Nick hated many things. Too many things to list. Chief among them was being spoken down to, which his former teacher was the queen of. (The stout Englishman in Nick figured it was part of the parcel of being French).
And she was really pushing it, acting like she knew everything about him and his reasons for doing the things he had done.
“You don’t understand a damn thing, hag!” he cried.
He barely understood himself. He had no intention of trying to explain how he felt to Aeris, and even if he had tried he knew he would not have been able to begin.
He managed to spring backwards high into the air to avoid her next attack, but only just. A microsecond too late and she would have hit him. As he landed he felt his muscles beginning to throb with an all too chillingly familiar ache; his Quirk was reaching its limit.
Fuck, not now!
Panic increased his heartbeat tenfold. He loathed to admit it to himself, but he was not going to win this one. His teacher’s Quirk was a bad matchup against his. It went against everything he stood for, but he had to run. Like a little bitch, he thought in anger.
As broken and lost as he was he still held onto some tattered remnants of his pride, and those remnants were going to take a hell of a beating if he did run. Did he have a choice, though? What was worse: his already shattered pride being shattered some more, or being captured?
With great regret, Nick absorbed his tendrils back into his body, turned tail and bolted. He poured every last drop of strength he had left in his body into his legs. He hurtled down the street, elbowing any foolish bystander who dared cross his path out of the way.
He made it to a subway entrance on the next street and practically threw himself down it. Fortunately for him, at the current time it was not terribly crowded. He vaulted over the barriers and reached the platform proper where a train was conveniently waiting. He lunged onto the train and his armour finally gave out, receding into the growth on his back and leaving him to collapse on the carriage floor.
He pushed himself up and leaned against the side of the carriage, taking heavy breaths. The train doors closed and it took off. Where was it going? He did not care, as long as it was away.
I know I’m fucked up. God, just leave me alone…

Aeris Leon Teacher 1-A || Fantasy || Danse de Fee The Devil's Advocate is staring right through your lies. Luck seemed to be on Nick's side for but a moment as the moment he ducked, her momentumcarried Aeris into the storm drain and splashing down into the water. This gave him the moment he needed to tuck tail and run. As soon as the Fairy climbed out of the small opening, she regrew, finding herself nude on the side of the street by herself. With a heavy sigh, she walked back over to her sweats and started getting redressed, should any police happen to wonder by. She was already due to make a report about this, let us not add public indecency to this.
With her cellphone in hand, she stopped the stream and just left a quick message in the chat. "I am sorry Rin and Jasmine." Without even looking for a reply, she logged out of the app and looked down the street. She was not one to give up on students. She could not just let Nick go without coming clean. She could only hope Rin had heard a schmattering of what was said. She ventured to guess Nick won't be coming around here any time soon after running into a predator in the jungle. This might be a good time to work on Oberron and Titania. For next time.
