She had to admit she had never expected so many people to be interested in the little idea that she and Darren had in the wake of the event. After learning about the paintball hall Elise had decided that before the end of the event the school's student body would need to explore the excitement of a good old shootout! Luckily for them a bit of negotiation with the staff had led to the duo to be able to reserve several halls for the students at U.A It didn't take much effort for the two of them to contact several people in their social circles, and soon an entire group had been gathered for the event. Of course, to make it a bit more exciting the idea was raised of a simple 2 versus 2 series of matches, several random drawings later revealing who her teammate would be: a certain Seiji and they would be facing two rather familiar individuals: Haruto and Jasmine. As they finished the preparations Elise decided to clarify things a bit further. "So in regards to the match: Once we go inside we'll be brought to two different preparation rooms filled with all sorts of weapons and the gear. You're free to pick whatever paintball weapon you want, I'm sure you both read the regulations me and Darren came up with? No Quirk use and no physical contact, simple respawn ticket system but if you got any questions, lemme know"A weak smile lingered on her lips as she gestured toward Seiji with a light wave of her hand. "You're Seiji-kun right? It seems we're on the same team." Turning toward Haruto and Jasmine she couldn't help but grin for a moment as she gave the two of them a playful taunt. "I guess we'll see both of you inside, well most likely covered in paint~"Once they went inside the preparation chambers and she started to look at the various weapons on display she talked to Seiji once more. "Seiji-kun, do you have any experience with firearms? If not I'd suggest a semi-automatic, if your accuracy is poor you could possibly compensate with your rate of fire."The girl reasoned as she picked up one of the rifles on the tables. "I got a fair amount of experience firing guns, but this is the first time I'm using a paintball gun. Hmm, they have some good sniper rifles..." The girl mused softly as she was seemingly inspecting the gear. The rifle in particular that she was holding was equipped with a flash suppressor, something that could be extremely useful for what she had in mind. "To be honest, considering our opponents I believe the one to be most wary about is Jasmine, she's likely going to be confident and quite aggressive in her playstyle, which we can turn to our advantage. Haru--- I mean Haruto-kun is likely going to be a bit more meek, I don't see him as the type to have played before, but nonetheless be careful."She turned toward Seiju as she put on the protective gear and smiled at him. "I got a sniper rifle, so I'm going to try to stay on a distance and shoot them from afar, but for that to work I need someone to serve as a decoy, if you were to play defensive and remain careful then I could likely catch them off-guard."She raised the fabric of her vest lightly, revealing the smaller gun she had placed in a holster and grinned at him. "They likely won't expect that I can also defend myself close-range, but we'll want to keep that to a minimum, try to keep their attention on you, I'll make sure to take them down as quickly as I can."With that all set and done she only had her mask left to put on, raising it up to her head as she hummed softly. "But above all, have fun~" Indeed, having fun was more important than winning, but she did want to put her skills to use! The indoors hall was just as one might have expected of a paintball field, a spacious field with plenty of obstacles to hide behind, which would make for quite an exciting fight! And with that, the lass was ready to get into the paintball match!

Shimizu Haruto was in an awkward spot. The reason he had come to this military base in the first place was in part to cheer Elise up after recent events, so he had agreed to join this game of paintball, but... This was his first time even looking at a real gun, even if it was a paintball gun! Which would be fine if it was a free for all or one on one matches, but when put on a team... Wouldn’t he just be dead weight?
As for questions, it was rather awkward, but- “Err, I’m sorry, but... How does the respawn ticket system work?” In seven words, he proved to everyone present just how utterly clueless he was. But he would rather be embarrassed than stay clueless, and the only way to fix that was to ask questions! Still, he found himself rubbing the back of his head with a sheepish grin on his face.
Turning to his teammate, he offered a polite bow. ”Pleased to meet you, Noir-san. I can only admit that I’ve never done anything like this before, but I will do my best not to hold you back!” While he worried that his inexperience and overall lack of fitness would hold his teammate back, it wasn’t like Haruto was giving up without a fight! Win or lose, this would be a fun time. And a messy one! Hopefully his quirk didn’t consider the paint to be toxic, or he might be heading straight back to the medical bay when they were done!
Jokes aside, that was actually a concern. After all, while the paint was meant to be nontoxic- That was for being shot with, not ingesting. And since his quirk didn’t care about the difference... We’ll, he’d worry about that after getting shot! For now, all he could do was head to the prep room opposite the one Elise and Seiji had entered. The protective gear was the simple part- Pants, vest, and mask, to protect him and his clothes from bruising and paint splatter. But when it came to the gun itself, to call the choice complex would be an understatement!
There were so many options, from elongated barrels with prominent sights, to stockier guns with larger bullet cases, perhaps for rapid-fire? Absolutely lost, Haruto turned to his only hope- ”Ah, Noir-san, I don’t suppose you have any advice about what gun to pick?” Haruto asked hopefully. If the girl didn’t know either, all he could do was pick a gun and pray.

Seiji wasn't entirely sure what he had signed up for. Well, technically he did know, paintball, but he couldn't exactly say that he was familiar with the activity or what exactly it entailed. Aki had shown some interest in it, and with the whole spirit of the military base seeping into his mood Seiji decided to go along. Not that he needed that much convincing really, even if he wasn't fully familiar with it, just the idea of paintball sounded fun enough. Though he would have preferred to team up with his wildling friend, they had decided to randomize teams to make things a bit more interesting.
At the time of their match Seiji met up with his teammate and their opponents at the hall that was assigned to them. His teammate by the looks of it was Elise, one of the people who was behind the whole idea. "It's a pleasure to meet you Elise-san." Seiji offered a small greeting to the girl as well as extended his hand for a friendly handshake. "And nice to meet you as well. Haruto-san and Noir-san, correct? I hope we all have a fun match with a deserving winner at the end." though Seiji certainly wasn't of the mindset that "participating was all that counted" and he certainly would like to win, the little tournament they had set up was informal and small enough that he saw no reason to get aggressively competitive over it. He saw it more as a chance to get to know some of his fellow students as well as have some fun with them.
Once they were in the preparation area it became clear that Seiji's teammate was more than just the organizer of the event, she also clearly possessed some deeper knowledge when it came to handling the weapons. Seiji himself was on the other hand simply unremarkable. He could wrap his head around every of the elements Elise had mentioned, but he couldn't say that he had any practical skills he could apply here. The respawn ticket mechanic was perhaps the most curious one, but evne that was simple enough to understand for Seiji. It very much had a "video game" kind of feel to it, though Seiji was amused that the implementation of a mechanic like that was this literal.
"Can't say I'm an expert... or a beginner for that matter. But, I think I'm not so clumsy as to not know how to point and shoot." Seiji told his teammate as he examined the weapons on display. "My accuracy may not be top notch to start with, but I think precision is one of the strengths of my quirk. I hope some of it translates here." Seiji settled for a simple looking semi-automatic gun, one that would allow him to easily fire off single shots or to fire as quickly as he could pull the trigger if he needed to. "Yeah, I thought the same. I think this one will do just fine." he told ELise as he settled on his weapon of choice. Elise herself seemed to have some level of proficiency in sharpshooting and as such was going to pick a sniper. Not only that, but she had also already formulated a strategy around their team composition. "I'm glad you're thinking like that Elise-san. I had a similar idea. I don't think our opponent's have any experience with guns, but I feel like Noir-san has the sheer physical capabilities to make her a considerable threat." Seiji didn't know too much about the other students in the match, but Jasmine was famous, or rather infamous enough that he had a rough idea of what to expect from her.
He nodded once at Elise. "I agree. I'm best suited to draw attention and provide covering fire if I can. You're the one with all the experience so setting it up so you can take free shots is our best chance." Seiji confirmed the course of action propose by his teammate. Having picked his weapon and geared up he was ready to head out into the arena. "You have fun too Elise-san, it's your event after all."

"Is that so?" Jasmine asked in response to Elise's small taunt, her voice a low, cold taunt. Honestly it wasn't even that much of a question but more of a statement - they wouldn't go down without a fight. Quickly thereafter the blonde and her soon to be partner in murder quickly found themselves in their designated preparation area. The blonde's lilac gaze shifted over the many mock weapons on display, her mind quickly running through her options. She couldn't say she had much experience with guns. Besides that one time she had one of her friends in the force sneak her into the NYPD's gun range to practice firing a few different 9 mil's like the Gen4 and Gen3 Glocks, she had also tried out an Ithaca 37 shotgun - something that had given her an idea of how to use her quirk. Regrettably, Jasmine wasn't able to use her special ability in this particular instance. Honestly this whole challenge took away two of her strongest advantages - her destructive quirk and her exceptional physical strength. On some level it almost seemed like this challenge was designed to make her fail. She grinned at the thought. The blonde lioness hummed at her team member somewhat curiously, offering him a small smile, "Likewise... Haruto?" She asked, completely ignoring whatever honorifics system Japan had. She always considered that a waste of time anyway. "And don't worry about it. I'm pretty sure I'm not going to be much help here, but... that doesn't mean we're going to make this easy for them, huh?" Glancing through some of the gear, Jasmine snorted with some amusement, thinking on her action plan. She decided against taking a vest - her natural durability would be enough to absorb paintball shells without slowing her down too much. The added weight of a west would likely just make her more encumbered. In a situation like this where mobility was likely key, she couldn't afford that. There were very few pieces of gear she decided on using. First and foremost was an utility belt that she strapped on, storing several extra magazines in the different compartments. On the side of her right thigh she strapped on a Glock 17 - a weapon she was somewhat familiar with. Not her main choice but rather her go-to if things went sour with her first and second plan of attack. The next choice items were pads. Jaz was likely to go rolling and tumbling either to avoid fire or to simply increase her mobility. Her instincts and reaction times were one of her biggest assets, so much so that sometimes the sheer output she displayed because of them were impossible for her body to keep up with, especially in a situation like this where she couldn't use her quirk to control her mobility. Glancing over the choices, she nodded to herself before smirking. Riot gear: hard, sturdy, and if used correctly not as restricting. She rummaged through the boxes set out for them, most of which were marked with the word DAMASCUS. Opening several of them, she opted for three sets of gear - hard shell forearm/elbow protectors and hard shell shin guards/knee caps. The final item? Riot gloves, slightly modified to have hard claws at the fingertips. This would be perfect. "I couldn't say, really. I haven't had much - if any real training with them. All I can advise is taking what feels natural in the given situation?" She explained as she fixed up her newly acquired gear, taking a few hops up afterwards to check how much they were slowing her down. It would take a minute or two for her to get used to the added weight but it wasn't anything that would generally damn her combat ability. "Let's recap the situation - I don't know much about you, nor them. Seiji is a mystery to me and as far as I'm concerned Elise isn't that combat savvy either. I may be wrong, though - been told the girl's magically become great with weapons. In which case... they're probably expecting the most out of me," she said, bluntly. "Not trying to be cocky or anything. Actually I think we can use that to our advantage." "They're probably expecting me to go in guns blazing and ram their asses without any lube. Normally, that would be the case, but in a challenge that's literally made to knock the feet out from under me that would just be stupid." Then Jasmine turned to the table with guns again. She grinned. Three more guns - two MP5's which she could easily dual wield without much of an issue. If somebody threw recoil at her face, she'd tell them she has been dealing with recoil and shoulder issues ever since she was little. Having dealt with C4-sized explosion all her life, she was pretty confident she could handle a little gun kickback. Then, as her second option, she fixed a sawed-off on her lower back. "So we're going to be careful. Being smart will be key here - be as quiet as possible, keep your head down and stay behind cover. We'll lure them out and put a bullet between their eyes, what do you think?" Then, the last item; something she had brought over herself when she was told what kind of challenge she would be participating in. It wasn't anything major - just something she had picked up at a random Halloween shop when she was bored and in town, ready to spend money on stupid shit. Honestly all she used this thing for was to scare Rin off in their room for the shits and giggles. She hadn't considered how useful this damn thing would come to actually be. Her grin was very firmly on her face as she stared at it, the message behind the item very clear. Snickering to herself in an almost sinister way, she fixed the mask on her face. "Let's go hunting, shall we?"

It appeared that Haruto wasn't that familiar with the rules of the system that was mentioned in the chat, not that she blamed him since she and Darren had only decided on it after getting some feedback from some of the soldiers stationed at the event. "Simply said, the moment a shot lands on you, or I guess it's better said: your gear you will be considered defeated, the referees observing the field will call you out if a shot is seen, at which point you have to retreat to your base by raising your arms into the air, the point you start at after exiting the changing rooms. Don't worry about being shot, while you're retreating nobody is allowed to shoot at you, nor you shoot at them till you removed the paint at the base. At that point, you'll spend one of your ten respawn tickets, which are shared among the two of you to get back into the field. Once you run out of respawn tickets, it's your last life, so be careful cause if you get shot you won't be able to get back in the game, so as soon as one team runs out of their respawns and both are shot, they lose the challenge." She nodded her head lightly as if she believed that she had properly explained everything there was left to discuss but before the end of their conversation she turned toward Jasmine, whose comment only brought a smirk to her lips, this was one fight she wasn't going to give up easily!
"Mhmm, the pleasure is all mine Seiji-kun~" Elise hummed softly as they were inspecting their gear, however as the boy commented about being neither an expert or a total beginner she nodded her head in agreement. "A semi-automatic like that one you have is perfect, it's easy enough to use, and with enough accuracy, you could be a considerable threat for them." However, as they talked about their opponents Elise couldn't help but find her smile waver for a moment. "Haru's not exactly the type to use firearms, he strikes me as a bit passive, but if we let down our guard his moral might be boosted to a point where he might become a dangerous opponent."
When talking about Jasmine she raised a hand to her chin and pondered for a moment. "I don't know Jasmine well enough, but from going by her reputation she strikes me as someone who prefers to use her fists instead of a gun. Also, if my assumption is right." She thought back about the park and about how Jasmine literally blasted down from the sky and after a moment of consideration shook her head. "It's likely her arms are used to a backlash, so I don't think she will be bothered too much with the recoil of those weapons. In fact, our best chance is to build a lead early on, thanks to Darren I got a steady grasp on how to use those weapons, and my training should help out for this, so our best bet is to gain a lead while they are still getting used to those weapons."
Her gear was light, perfect to move quickly and quietly, and so she decided that they were ready for the game to begin. Still, for a moment she couldn't help but find herself smiling sheepishly, a moment of meekness rising up within her as she replied in a soft tone. "This event is for everyone who wants to have some fun~ not just for me." And with that, they were at their base. The base itself was concealed from the other side by several layers of obstacles, giving people the opportunity to plan before charging into the fray, and while holding her sniper Elise already was gazing around the field, her trained sniper instincts triggering. "Hmm" The layer of obstacles closest to the base was a large wall, too large to simply climb over, but it allowed them shelter from the deeper reaches of the field. However, to her personal interest was an obstacle at the right side of the field, meant to represent an abandoned house, even if the actual place was more like one of those containers some schools used to teach classes in while their school was being renovated. All in all, it was a perfect spot for a sniper to hide in, and if she saw right there were two doorways, one toward the direction of their base, and one which pointed directly to the back of the cottage. This did prove one weakness, which she hoped to keep the other group from exploiting, and as such, she decided to lightly tap Seiji's shoulder to draw his attention. "I'm going to hide in there, if I got a good grasp on the field that spot will provide an excellent location for me to both cover you, and give me view over the middle of the field, the conflict area so to speak. Don't worry too much about tracking me, In fact, it's best if you don't try to search for me since I will be moving around the battlefield often and as such if they accidentally realize where I am, that ruins the element of surprise. This particular rifle has a silencer installed in it, so unless they spot me I should be able to get the drop on them, but once they get shot and have a chance to look around... I'll have to move if they saw me."
The woes of a sniper, always on the move, always on the run. Sounded almost like some sort of dramatic and almost romantic movie involving a damsel and a wanted vigilante. Okay, bad time to daydream about stuff, not that she had the luxury to think about such stuff now she held her rifle and started to slowly sink into her more serious mindset. "Let's do our best Seiji-kun."
And with those words, one the referees announced the start of the game Elise rushed toward the right side of the wall, only stopping for a moment to peek behind the corner to make sure neither Haruto or Jasmine had already crossed this far into the field when finally she darted toward the shelter. She genuinely hoped neither of the opposing team had already reached the middle of the field, but considering Jasmine's physical fitness she considered the possibility the girl 'might' had been able to get that far if she rushed recklessly. No, for the time being, all she could do was crouch at one of the windows of the container and peek at the battlefield through her scope. If she was lucky Haruto didn't comment yet about a certain attribute of the girl's skill asset, for the only thing which betrayed her presence right now was her rifle which poked at the corner of the right side of the container's window, the girl using her skill to peek through the scope of the rifle to observe the battlefield while only a minimal amount of her head which was concealed behind the camouflaged mask she was wearing, she truly was being a sniper today!
I hope Seiji can draw their attention...

“Got it!” The rules were simple enough, though, Haruto was afraid he would likely be responsible for more than half of his team’s tickets... After all, he had seen Elise with a gun, and from what the soldiers had said, she was really, amazingly skilled. What an unfortunate first matchup. Although, to be fair, was there a matchup that was good for Haruto? He should just count himself lucky he hadn’t been placed against Chise... Or with her. Was it selfish of him to want to avoid looking uncool in front of the girl he- No, it wasn’t “the girl he liked” anymore, was it? It was, “His girlfriend.” Even now, it still felt like he had only imagined it...
But he couldn’t afford to get distracted by strawberry colored thoughts right now! He had a paintball match to fight! ”And our opponent just had to be Elise, too... From what the soldiers were saying about her shooting skills, she could probably enter this tournament without a partner and still come out on top.” Haruto let out a sigh. It was thoroughly demotivating to think about just how heavily outclassed they were. “”Her favorite weapon is a sniper rifle, so, I suspect she’ll pick one of those. If we can get up close to her, perhaps we stand a chance? But then there’s still Seiji, and I don’t know what his skill level is, so we should probably expect the worst case scenario...” Unwilling to go down without a fight, Haruto attempted to put together a strategy. But with limited knowledge and even less experience, his train of thought could only run so far.
For his weapon, he ended up taking a semi-automatic handgun, the weapon Elise had suggested he try when they visited the armory. Besides, with his nonexistent build, a light weapon like that was probably the only one he could properly handle. Even if picking a weapon like this could easily be suicidal in a long range fight. Still, what was the harm in trying? He was certainly undergeared when compared to his partner, who had more guns than hands, though.
”I agree, I wouldn’t be surprised if they just ignored me completely. If you draw enough of their attention and they lose track of where I am, we might be able to pull something off- But that’s a big if. As I said, I expect Elise to be bringing a sniper rifle, so, one key point will be figuring out where she is, and making sure there’s cover between us and it at all times. Not that I expect her to be nice enough to pick a place and sit there for us to find her. Of course, that all hinges on the if of her picking a sniper, and not going in with something better ranged... Seiji, I know as little as you.
He didn’t quite get the reference of the mask that looked like something out of a horror film, but nodded anyways. ”Let’s take down the tournament favorites, shall we?”
The match started, and Haruto went for nearby cover. He didn’t know where Elise was or would be headed, but he knew where she had started, and knew she could only get so far from it so fast. Wouldn’t it be awful to be hit the second the match started? Unwilling to expose his head to look for the enemy team, Haruto would focus on listening, trying to get a general idea for where the enemy team was by using his ears.
