| Giselle Shini "Tell me where it hurts!" Oh no, that wouldn't do.
She grabbed her chin, her left arm holding the clipboard under her armpit as her right hand held onto her jaw. The long black gloves covered her sleeves having taken care of the bodies just moments ago. All of them were stabilized and prepared for later measures. "A little more to the right." She directed a few of the staff members. Everything needed to be directly in place. If it was just half an inch off, she was going to get yelled at by Doctor Norigami. She didn't need that old man breathing down her neck again.
"That should be fine, thank you so much." She would release her chin only to have both of her palms to meet in a fashion to make a few loud sounds. Clapping, she would reward their rookie staff for helping out with something so mundane. Turning around with a smile, she held onto the clipboard only to find that most of their tasks were completed. Now, all they had to do was wait and prepare. And soon, students would arrive. Or perhaps, would they be teachers as well? Both sides would benefit in their trade of information. And Giselle was more than happy to be of assistance.

A big ol' nerd with a passion for learning sciency things, of course Masaki ended up in the medical camp. Dressed much more casually than usual, he strode into the camp with a simple white t-shirt, a pair of blue jeans, and sneakers – very plain looking. Examining the area, his index finger was firmly placed above his lip; he pondered exactly what he would learn about in this camp. The basics of first aid were useful, but what else did they have on offer? Aside from having heard about the occasion, he hadn't paid attention to many other details. Already overwhelmed by the experience of having witnessed the massive medical operations center, he was instantly drawn to a small group waiting for something. A blonde-haired woman stood there with a clipboard and Masaki approached. Everything was so orderly nearby and while he wasn't completely obsessed with order, the sight was euphoric. This level of care and attention to detail was complete bliss. There was a smile on the woman's face, which caused him to wear his own before greeting her. "Excuse me, miss. What's happening here?" Masaki boldly inquired. If there was something going on, he would have loved to know what it was. And if there wasn't, at the very least she could probably point him in the right direction. tag | wc; 221

'The military is in town!' didn't quite have the same ring to at as 'the circus is in town!', but the popularity of the former was surprisingly close to that of the latter.
Ever since the special military camp had arrived, Tetsuko had been an interested participant for a multitude of reasons. There was her girlfriend's fascination with firearms that had Tetsuko dragged around the place, the swordswoman's natural duty to promote the good image of Quirkers, and a desire to utilize the medical facilities on hand to get a better grasp of her Quirk's functions and certain other changed that Tetsuko's body had experienced. At that very moment, wandering through the medical area, Tetsuko was interested in capitalizing on that third reason.
Given that her Quirk fell under the broad umbrella of 'Mutation-Types', Tetsuko's own body had a very close interaction with her Quirk. Naturally, that meant that she'd benefit from understanding this connection, and the exchange of information that was occurring within the special military camp seemed like an excellent way to do just that. Unfortunately, the Shindou girl didn't exactly know where to begin in these complicated facilities, so found herself wandering aimlessly for a few moments, before gravitating towards a smaller group around a very official looking woman and a vaguely familiar face.
Approaching the group, Tetsuko would recognize the young boy beside the medical staff as a new classmate, having introduced himself during their lovely little potluck. "Hey, Takeuchi-san, right?" Tetsuko would call out as she approached, hoping not to be interrupting anything. "Of Class 1-B? I'm Tetsuko Shindou, I was at the potluck." It was a bit of an awkward introduction, but right then, Tetsuko was just in search of some kind of guidance above all else, and this small group seemed to be it. Turning to the woman with the clipboard, Tetsuko bowed her head in greeting.
"Ah, sorry if I interrupted. You wouldn't happen to be one of the doctors here, would you? I've been looking around to see if there's anything on here, ehe..." She said a little sheepishly, although, Tetsuko was naturally curious what was happening in this small section of the medical camp.

| Giselle Shini "Tell me where it hurts!" . . . but that wasn't the point, was it?
The military had come here almost like a fair, only for the reasons of learning more about quirks. Rather than go to another country and take their trials to another population, they were sent to their homeland to meet with the locals. The people would gain knowledge of themselves with the best training they could, and the military would learn more of what to expect on the field. Times were changing, soon quirks would fill the world and the quirkless would be obsolete. Giselle saw it as one of her last chances to leave a mark on the world.
Their doors were open, the borders were free to pass. People came and went, walking in and out. They had parts of their supplies on display, but others were locked away.
"Oh, we're just setting everything up so all of the doctors can help the people of Japan." A thought out answer, one she had well rehearsed to herself over and over. It was true. Giselle was no field operative, or had even been deployed. She had always been behind their walls and forts carefully tucked away. She didn't do rescue operations, nor saw the true face of war. She was pure compared to the others, and the staff feared the day of her change. "Have you come here for something, sir?" she would ask, even if her rank surpassed that of a normal civilian. She would never pass up a chance to give anyone well deserved respect.
"No, really, it is my apologies." the blond woman would say, giving a bow in return, "I'm not a doctor, I'm just a nurse. I've been in charge of setting things up for the time being." She was, and in the near future, the rest would arrive. Soon their lead would set foot on Japanese soil again, and all of his studies would resume, this time, on the homeland.

The sudden arrival of one his peers kept the polite smile on Masaki's face; regardless of how rehearsed it might have been, Tetsuko's arrival was a pleasant surprise. "Ah, yes, I remember. Funny running into you here, Shindou-san." Masaki said, not having to think hard about the potluck. The feeling he had whilst arriving to that gathering was one of complete and overwhelming discomfort. He put that part of it out of his mind here.
He didn't get the chance to ask what brought Tetsuko here. However, it was obvious once she asked the nurse, that she was hear for curiosities sake. An admirable endeavor.
Of course, their gracious host had spoken to him and he intended to reply in turn. "I came to the medical grounds to learn more about essential first aid techniques." Masaki wasted no time explaining his educational task. He hadn't followed the event, just showing up once he heard a bunch of other students would too. And just now, he likely killed two birds with one stone by potentially answering the question for Tetsuko as well. The nurse's words lingered."...so all of the doctors can help the people of Japan."
Masaki rubbed his chin. "What exactly do you mean by helping the people of Japan? How so, exactly?" Masaki asked, his curiosity at its peak. This camp could just be providing basic medical services, but maybe there was more to it than that. Deep down, he wanted there to be more to it than that. In the best-case scenario, this could be his golden opportunity to get involved with something special.

"Yeah, likewise. Then again, been seeing lots of U.A. kids here..." Tetsuko would reply simply to her classmate. He was a polite kid, not unlike the swordswoman herself, but there was something slightly odd about the boy that gnawed at Tetsuko... Likely just a vestige of her occasionally paranoid nature. Like Masaki, she'd turn her attention to the blonde woman, their host in this curious little set-up. A kind and exotic woman who was becoming rather interesting as she spoke on.
The blonde woman was rather dignified, to say the least, showing a respect that Tetsuko had come to expect from the army's best. Her high opinion wasn't shared by many, but that respect was integral to Tetsuko's view of the armed forces. She soon learned, to a degree, what both Masaki and the nurse - not a doctor, as she'd been corrected - were doing there. The young boy was learning about first aid, and the nurse herself... Helping all the people of Japan? That certainly piqued the Shindou girl's interest, as she wondered what on Earth this could mean.
On the surface, it was a noble yet hopelessly vague goal. Masaki seemed to understand this too, mirroring Tetsuko's curiosity. "Yeah, I'm... Kinda curious too. Does it have to do with Quirk research?" Tetsuko queried, the idea popping into her head. Given that this whole camp's purpose was to enhance Quirker integration in the military, it would make a lot of sense. Tetsuko certainly hoped it was the case, given learning more about her own Quirk through medical assistance was her own primary reason for attending the military camp. Given her Quirk left some permanent effects on her own body, it would be useful to involve herself in research and testing that elucidated the full extent of its effects and abilities.

] | Giselle Shini "Tell me where it hurts!" Honor. Was that the thing that drove her? All she wanted was to be remembered as someone who did the right thing. She wasn't famous, nor acclaimed. She was just that blonde haired nurse that didn't quite fit in and seemed to be everywhere at once. She wanted to be a part of every story, even if she was reduced to just that nurse that gave them their favorite pudding on their worst day. She just wanted the world to smile. She didn't want anyone else to hurt. She didn't want anyone to hurt anymore. That's what she wanted from this training. She wanted to learn about quirks, and she wanted the Japanese people to learn about their bodies. The less trouble they got into, the less trouble she would have to repair. None would hurt anymore... none...
Turning back to reality, she would face the two students who would greet each other, a moment she would lose in her own self thought. "Of course." she would tell them with a smile, "They sent us back home so we can share what we know with our people, and so our people can help us understand what we will face." She would give quite an answer, one that would pose more questions than solutions. "The wounds we learn to mend, caused by quirks, will save lives on the battlefield. We can't possibly predict all of the abilities people could have, but with all of these quirks, we needed to start somewhere." Her smile would fade, only to imagine how strange it was to hear. They were kids, their quirks was all they knew. They grew up in a world were quirks were more common and a bit more accepted. Thank goodness they were spared from the hatred, the discrimination the-
"So, I will teach you both whatever I can, and I hope I will be able to learn from you both as well." She would say again, offering a bow as she did so, her face staring into the ground as her eyes begun to close. It was no different that her past encounters, but why was her nervous? Why was she so scared?
What powers did kids really possess?

Quirk research? Masaki registered. Yes, a likely possibility. He didn't want to jump to conclusions, but it was possible. While quirks had been around well before his time, the need to study and understand them hadn't declined. The sheer variety of them alone was reason enough. After Tetsuko took and passed the metaphorical microphone, the fair-haired nurse took over.
Everything she said was vague, so much so that Masaki couldn't extrapolate anything from the data she provided. What knowledge was supposed to be shared? Quirks or medicine? Who was 'they'? The government? Who was 'our people' and what were they supposed to be facing? Society or the battlefield? Was society a battlefield? He had heard love was, but that seemed unrelated. Masaki searched for answers in the nurse's words and there were none... yet. He wasn't sure if she was just eccentric or being purposefully cryptic, but he didn't mind trying to solve the puzzle that was "literally everything she just said". As a person with issues communicating himself, Masaki couldn't blame her if that happened to be the case. But now, he had two options. Either ask more questions and risk getting more cryptic answers or use the last bit of information to form a conclusion. How frustrating.
However, the last two statements she made; made much more sense. She wanted to learn about quirks to heal those injured by quirks. To him, the most important piece of information was the exchange of knowledge. Share information about his own quirk in exchange for learning something. If he had gotten that part right, then this trip was worth it already.
What felt like forever was literally just a moment, he looked to Tetsuko and blinked. Masaki visually voiced his confusion for just a moment as if to ask, 'Did you get all that?'. Hopefully, he wasn't the only one confused because he had chosen to press on despite it. Reiterating what he could make sense of, Masaki faced back to the nurse and casually asked "So, you want us to share information about our quirks with you? Why not just say that?" He wasn't quite sure why she needed to bow, but the respect was nice all the same - he rubbed the back of his neck.
If this were the case, how could he say 'no' to such a noble goal? He was touched by her passion or maybe it was just her angelic appearance that convinced him. With his forearms at waist level, he spread his hands open and shared, wasting little time. "Pardon me if I'm mistaken, but my quirk is simple. I can attract and repel metals." he paused "Like a strange magnet." he finished, raising his right arm and extending his index finger to better illustrate emphasis. Maybe he was jumping the gun a bit, but she promised to teach something and he wanted to know what.

| Giselle Shini "Tell me where it hurts!" Everyone used to dream of the days they could use some magical telekinetic power to bring the tv remote to them, a power for the lazy majority. Everyone dreamed of what superpower they could get, what they could have. But how many people got powers they wanted? How many enjoyed their power, rather than simply lived with it? Were quirks really a good thing? With new powers, came new regulations to keep everyone safe. Was trying to learn about as many quirks as they could going to change their work? Or was it only going to give the military more tools to use against people? Was it preventing conflict, or creating? Giselle, did not know, and that was what scared her.
"It would be impolite for me to ask something of you, without offering something in return, as well as an explanation as to why we had returned to Japan." She was easily the most transparent of the medical staff. She didn't want to deceive anyone, but most often, her explanations were almost too much information, something that bombarded most.
"Oh, how useful!" she had said, "I could only imagine all of the bullets we could remove from solders with a power like that." she would tell him, "Could you explain how it works? Does it hurt when you do it?" Was it power that was inside his mind, or something that just existed in his blood? Was it iron in his body that simply reacted? She just had to know.

Oh, did he love hearing that he would get something back in return. Would it be exactly what he was asking for or something else entirely? However, there was no time to continue that train of thought. The blonde-haired nurse had questions and Masaki had to provide the answers. Him attending U.A. to become a hero may have always been questionable, but Masaki solving problems and answering questions? That always came naturally.
Her exclamation and excitement towards its potential was infectious; it was the same thought process Masaki shared whenever he learned about the quirks of other people. This nurse was a truly a woman after his own heart, whether she knew it or not.
Tetsuko had strangely gone quiet, but Masaki was too distracted to wait for her now. You see, the member of the medical staff had asked and interesting question; how did his quirk work? Not just the simple, 'what could he do?' that he had become so accustomed to answering. He tapped a finger on his lips and looked to the side, searching for the words to best summarize his capabilities. He would be laying it all out so it seemed, but Masaki would go the distance... for science.
"Well..." as every good explanation starts, "I can turn the magnetic effect I have on and off consciously. However, the effect varies depending on the location of my body I choose to apply this magnetic effect. My right hemisphere acts in the manner of a typical magnet, making me capable of attracting metal towards myself. On the other hand..." Masaki paused, lowering his right hand and raising his left. The long-winded explanation continued "...my left is only capable of pushing them away. Trying to use both at the same time, will simply freeze a metal object in place. Oh, I can also sense and target metals."
Masaki paused, realizing how embarrassing it was to ramble on like so. So, what did he do? Naturally, he continued of course. "It doesn't hurt, not unless I consistently use it for too long. But if something is too heavy, I'll end up clinging to it or being pushed away myself." He rubbed the back of his head and chuckled, capable of counting the number of times that exact thing happened. With the laugh, he paused and had suddenly realized something. Despite sharing all of this very personal information, his lust for knowledge had made him overlook the basics of social interaction. In short, he had no idea what her name was.
"My apologies, but um..." he sheepishly started. "may I ask your name?"

| Giselle Shini "Tell me where it hurts!" Push and pull. Give and take. Just like the quirk he seemed to explain, she wanted to apply an equal force, to either attract information, or push it away. But she didn't want to pry or force anything. The more she got, the more she would give. The more he gave, the more he would receive. Questions got answers. It was only right. As she asked, he would ask. They would exchange information, and it was a benefit to both sides.
Left and right hemispheres. It was simple enough, and it would have been a lie if she didn't say she wanted to dissect him. In her mind, it seemed to act something based of his mind, one part of his brain controlling his ability to pull, while the other pushed. The question was what gave him the ability over metals. Was it the iron in his blood? Was it something else? Was it simply a kinetic power with the brain? There was many questions, but none were hers to ask. She wasn't even sure if he knew the answer. But if she learned, what would she gain? It would be knowledge against the boy, and not possible foes. She needed to be a quirk expert, not an expert on his magnet quirk.
"Giselle." she would say with a smile. "And yours?" she would ask, and after some time, or after the answer was given, she would continue. "Thank you for all you have shared with me. Is there something I can teach, or answer for you?" she asked, something she was both trained to do for her position, as well as a person. She did not wish to overstep anything.
