ProgressionOrgan
Upgrading From: New ability
Upgrading to: Type: Mundane Rank: F Effect: Alaster has spent several weeks learning to play the organ. He has a long way to go before he can create his own villain theme, but he at least has the basics down. He can play some simple melodies and even a short song or two.

ProgressionCrow's Call
Upgrading From: Type: Emitter Rank: E Effect: Alaster's vocal cords emit a special signal that allows him to control crows, using them as his weapon of choice. By cawing loudly, the signal is carried by the sound of his caw, and any crow that hears his caw and is within the signal's range will become obedient. Their eyes glow blood red when under the influence of Alaster's quirk. While under his control, they can receive and obey Alaster's simple commands. These simple commands that he can issue to the crows are things like attacking, flying around, watching for intruders and alerting him of any by cawing, and fleeing.
Drawback: Because the signal emitted from Alaster's voice is carried via the sound waves from his voice, the crows must be able to hear Alaster's caw for the quirk to work. This means that if Alaster cannot use his voice for any reason, then he cannot use his quirk. Alaster must caw loudly, because the signal cannot travel in weak sound waves, such as a whisper or even his regular indoor voice. Because of this, Alaster's quirk is not suited for stealth or situations where he needs to not make any noise. Speaking of noise, any sound loud enough to drown out Alaster's voice will block the signal. The signal is only capable of being carried by the sound waves of Alaster's voice, not just any sound wave in general. Since the signal emitted from his quirk can only travel up to 10 meters, regardless of how far the waves from Alaster's voice travel, any crow outside that range will not be affected, even if they can hear him.
Alaster can only control up to four crows at any one time. In addition to this, only one kind of command can be in effect at any time. For instance, if a crow has been commanded to fly around, none of the remaining crows can be commanded to attack or do anything besides flying around, until that command is cancelled. Alaster's command cannot be too complex, or else the crows will not understand and will just ignore it. Also, they will only obey his commands as long as they stay within 10 meters of his quirk's range. Once they escape this range, they will be free of Alaster's control.
Alaster cannot just freely use his quirk for as long as he want to, and he can't just use it freely without consequence. His caw is only active for 2 posts. If he doesn't caw again on his next post, his quirk is automatically turned off, and any crow under his control will be free. They will usually fly away from him unless he reuses his quirk and they don't escape his range in time. Using his quirk puts a strain on his throat and his voice. He can use his quirk for 6 posts total before his throat becomes too sore and he is unable to caw or even speak. Once this happens, Alaster must wait 3 posts to regain his voice and the ability to activate his quirk. During this cooldown period, any crow under his command will be free, and they will always fly as far away from him as possible.
Obviously, Alaster can only control and command crows that are nearby. He cannot summon or create crows from nothing, nor is he able to control any birds other than crows, no matter how similar those birds might be to crows. Thus, if there are no crows nearby, Alaster is basically just like a quirkless human.
Upgrading to: Type: Emitter Rank: D Effect: Alaster can emit a special signal from his vocal cords that allows him to take control of the minds of crows, allowing him to make them his weapon of choice. By cawing loudly, the signal is carried by the sound of his caw, and any crow that hears his caw and is within the signal's range will become obedient. Their eyes glow blood red when under the influence of Alaster's quirk. While under his control, they can understand and obey Alaster's simple commands. These simple commands that he can issue to the crows are things like attacking, flying around, watching for intruders and alerting him of any by cawing, and fleeing. Basically, anything that the crows are physically capable of doing that can be summed up in a short sentence (about six words or less).
At his current level, Alaster can control up to six crows with his quirk, and the distance his quirk's range covers is about three-fourths the length of a cricket pitch.
Drawback: Because the signal emitted from Alaster's voice is carried via the sound waves from his voice, the crows must be able to hear Alaster's caw for the quirk to work. For instance, if a crow has been commanded to fly around, none of the remaining crows can be commanded to attack or do anything besides flying around, until that command is cancelled. Alaster's command cannot be anything that is impossible for the crows to do. The commands also cannot be too complex, or else the crows will not understand and will just ignore it. Also, they will only obey his commands as long as they stay within his quirk's range. Once they escape this range, they will be free of Alaster's control.
Alaster cannot just freely use his quirk for as long as he want to, and he can't just use it freely without consequence. His caw is only active for 2 posts. First, I want to trade in my 2 EP for the Villain Starter Pack. After working out the math, that should give me: 2000 (the max EXP the starter pack can take me to) -600 (Total EXP I spent on abilities and upgrades thus far) -116 (my current EXP) =1284 EXP. Combined with my current EXP, that should give me a total of 1400 EXP to work with.
With that, I'm spending 600 EXP (200 to go from F to E, and another 400 to go from E to D) for: ProgressionWriting
Upgrading From: Rank: F Effect: Years of practice and writing poems, short stories, a few books, and other forms of literature has made Alaster a great writer. His writing skills are above that of non-writers.
Upgrading to: Type: Mundane Rank: D Effect: Years of practice and writing poems, short stories, a few books, and other forms of literature has made Alaster a great writer. Having spent most of his free time improving his skills has made Alaster even better at writing. The quality of his writing is well above that of the average writer, and his books tend to sell very well.

Now I should only have 100 EXP left. Gonna spend that on: ProgressionCrow Power
Upgrading From: New ability
Upgrading to: Type: Enhancement Rank: F Effect: Besides controlling a crow's mind, the signal emitted from Alaster's quirk also forces the crow's brain to release adrenaline throughout its body, enhancing the bird's strength in a manner similar to steroids. This enhanced strength allows the crow to become powerful enough to damage wood with its beak and talons. However, this enhanced strength only lasts for as long as the crow remains under the effect of Alaster's quirk.

Updating to the new template, as well as adding some important recent(ish) events to Alaster's history. Also updated appearance and personality a tiny bit.
Alaster Corvus
BASIC INFORMATION Hero/Vigilante/Villain alias: Crowley Player Name: khaozz Faceclaim/Series: Henry/Fire Emblem Awakening Age: 18 Gender: Male Affiliation: Villain Height: 1.724m Weight: 65.7kg Hair/Style: White, short, slightly untidy Skin/Scars: Very light skin, almost pale Eyes: Grey, usually squinting Notables: n/a
APPEARANCE AND PERSONALITY Appearance: Alaster is a tall and slightly thin young man. He has short and usually slightly untidy white hair, light skin, a small and slightly pointed nose, and usually always has a smile on his face. He usually squints, making his grey eye color difficult to notice. However, when disguising himself as a civilian, Alaster tends to comb his hair back neatly, as well as ceasing his usual squinting, making his usually hard to notice grey eyes easy to see. Alaster is British, as are both of his parents. Although they are not very noticeable and are usually covered by his clothes, there are numerous minor scars and bruises all over Alaster's body from years of injuries, fights, and beatings. His usual villain attire consists of a gray shirt with long black sleeves, black tight pants, black and gold shoes, golden bands around his wrists and upper legs, a purple cloth wrapped around his waist, and a cape-like robe. The robe is black on the outside, purple inside, is fastened by a gold plate on Alaster's chest, and has six white eyes on the collar. POSITIVE✔ Calm, fearless, observant, loyal, friendly to trustworthy people NEGATIVE✖ Sadistic, arrogant, ruthless, misanthropic, distrustful, blunt LIKES✔ His girlfriend, books, writing, classical music, nighttime, honesty, loyalty, birds (especially crows and ravens), bloodshed DISLIKES ✖ Anyone who hurts those he cares about, most humans, failure, the law, bright lights (especially the Sun), writer's block, loud noises, scarecrows Personality:Alaster is happy and cheerful on the surface. He may find it difficult to open up to others due to trust issues, but when he does open up, he shows them nothing less than kindness and affection. He shows intense and undying loyalty to those who do the same. He may be a villain, but even he has some form of moral code. He'll never stab anyone in the back, unless they betrayed him first. Alaster always keeps his promises and never goes back on his word. He tries his best to be a gentleman and a nice guy. Underneath the surface, however, is a different story. Years of trauma and depression has unhinged Alaster and has mentally damaged and twisted him. He puts up a cheerful persona to hide his pain and misery. He views almost all of humanity as sick, vile, and irredeemable monsters, unless he meets someone who can make him change his opinion of that person. Because of this and the torture he went through throughout his life, he takes great pleasure in inflicting pain on others and watching them suffer. He tends to be cold towards those he doesn't care about, and even those he does care about can be hurt by his unintentional insensitivity towards them at times. HISTORY Alaster Corvus was born in a small town in England. Sadly, his early life was not a happy one. At the mere age of five, his mother was driving him back from the amusement park, when a car had suddenly hit them. Alaster had miraculously suffered only a minor injury, but Alaster's mother was not so lucky. This sudden loss of his beloved mother was too much for Alaster to bear. Unfortunately, things would only get worse.
His father was devastated as well. He began drinking heavily to try to ease the pain. However, he was a violent drunk. He blamed Alaster for his wife's death. Remorselessly, he began to regularly beat his only son. It only got worse when he had remarried four years later. Alaster's stepmother hated him. She would often neglect to feed him, bathe him, or buy him new clothes. Alaster would only get the bare minimum, forcing him to learn to take care of himself at a very young age. She would ignore Alaster's father beating the poor child, and would sometimes even join in the beating. However, Alaster would not cry, not in front of them, for he would not give them that satisfaction, and they would beat him for crying anyway. He simply took the verbal and physical abuse and kept the pain inside, always smiling as though nothing was wrong.
Alaster's school life wasn't much better either. He was always seen as the weird kid by the others. If he wasn't being ignored by the other kids, then he was usually picked on and beaten by bullies. No matter how many times Alaster tried to get help from the teachers, they would always ignore him, not believing that their precious students could ever treat anyone so horribly. Alaster never made any friends, never met anyone to confide in or help him. He was all alone, and he eventually gave up trying to get help from anyone. He just shut them all out and did his best to ignore everyone. He was tired of looking at the cruel world and everyone who lived in it, so he decided to keep his eyes almost completely shut.
Alaster only had two sources of comfort. The first was in writing. He would keep a journal on him at all times. He'd write various poems and stories. Bullies would often take his journal and either rip it into pieces, read it in front of others who'd laugh at him, or both. Despite this, Alaster would continue to write, not letting anyone stop him from putting his thoughts on paper. His other source of comfort was the crows that lived in the nearby park. Alaster would take food from his house and feed the crows. They would treat him far better than anyone else would. They wouldn't beat him or ignore him or hate him simply for breathing. Every day, he would walk to the park and feed the birds. The crows would keep him company. Alaster rarely cried, but he had no problem crying in front of the birds. Unlike humans, crows wouldn't make fun of him. The crows were Alaster's first real friends.
Unfortunately, this happiness would not last long. On Alaster's eleventh birthday, as Alaster made his way to the park to visit the crows, he was horrified to see two of the bullies from his school trying to throw rocks at four of the poor birds. Angrily, he ran up to the bullies and tried to make them stop. One of the bullies pushed him to the ground and beat him. The other bully watched and laughed while trying to hit the crows. Then, he had managed to hit one of the crows in the head, killing it instantly. Alaster had snapped, and began to scream. This had triggered his long dormant quirk to activate, causing the remaining crows to attack the two bullies. Angrily and violently, they pecked and clawed at the kids, traumatizing them and making them flee in horror. Afterwards, the bullies' parents furiously called both Alaster's parents and the police. In the town where Alaster lived, quirks were uncommon, but not unheard of. The bullies, who incidentally were quirkless, lied and had said that Alaster was bullying them for being quirkless and had used his quirk to attack and torture them. Of course, nobody believed Alaster when he tried to explain the truth of what really happened. He was sent to a special juvenile detention center for those with quirks, where he stayed for over four years.
Surprisingly, Alaster's stay in the detention center wasn't that horrible. Sure, there were the usual rude delinquents, but not all of the people there were horrible. Most people just left him alone. Alaster would just stay in his room and write all day. One of the security guards had once taken his journal and didn't confiscate it, since he was very impressed by Alaster's writing. He told Alaster to work hard on it, and that he should focus on writing instead of getting into fights. Alaster was more than fine with that. On the day Alaster was released, he had wrote a small book and let that guard keep it.
Alaster was finally released at the age of 15. However, he had no intention of going back home, and his father and stepmother wouldn't take him back even if he wanted to. He decided to look for a job, save up money, and move far away from this hellhole of a town. Try as he might, Alaster had trouble finding legitimate work. Desperate for a job and money, he reluctantly joined a small local gang under the alias Crowley. He was tasked with various shady jobs, such as making drug deals, disposing of bodies, and even torturing people for information. At this point, Alaster no longer cared about committing crimes. In fact, he slowly began to enjoy spilling blood and causing others to suffer like he had throughout his life. The world was full of horrible people, so what did it matter to him if he broke a couple of laws and limbs? Although he never fully trusted the gang, they slowly became almost like family to him, since they actually treated him with some respect. He never got caught by the police, although there were many close calls.
Over a year later, and with the help of some of the gangsters, he managed to save enough money to get fake IDs and passports, buy a plane ticket to Japan, and leave his former life behind him forever to start anew. Alaster spent many months learning Japanese at a local school while working at a hotel in Tokyo to pay for his room. He also continued writing on the side under the alias Harry R. Krowe. His books weren't masterpieces by any means, but they sold decently enough. Still, he was only just getting by. He needed more money, and not just for himself. Alaster wanted to pay back those gangsters in England who helped him. Try as he might, he could not make enough on just a legal job and writing books.
Thus, he once again resorted to joining a local gang. They were called the Deadlock Gang, and Alaster was payed to do their dirty work to make more money than he could make alone at that point. In a few months, he moved to a small apartment of his own, where he had lived somewhat comfortably. It wasn't a bad life, certainly far better than back in England. However, it still felt like Alaster was missing something. He was just living for the sake of surviving somehow. He had no true purpose of his own.
But all of that changed on one fateful day. While on his phone, Alaster noticed that he had been added to an online chatroom filled with other villains. Alaster was intrigued and pleasantly surprised by the lot. They were for the most part not as bad as the people he knew back in England. It was funny how a group of complete strangers, all of which were villains, would eventually become more like family to Alaster than his real family ever were.
And then came that day when Alaster's life had seemingly turned upside down. Not long after being added to the villain chat, Alaster was visiting a cafe. It was there that he met one of the villains from the chatroom. Meiko Hagane, the woman who Alaster had fallen in love with, and even had his first kiss with! He was just astonished. With all the hell he had been through, now things were going well for him? Someone not only did not hate him, but liked him enough to fall in love with him of all people? Perhaps the world was not as shitty as he thought it was. To this day, Alaster did not know how on earth he was lucky enough to have met this woman.
But there was one thing Alaster did know. He had a purpose now. After being lost for so long, after not knowing what to do other than just surviving somehow, Alaster finally had a goal in life, one that was worth fighting for. He would do everything in his power to make sure that his beloved Meiko was happy and safe. Anyone who would harm or even threaten to harm his angel would experience the wrath of a demon. A slow, gruesome, and painful torture, which would then be followed by an even more horrific death. Nobody would hurt Meiko and get away with it. Alaster was determined to make sure of that!
Despite having met the love of his life, despite having gradually made more and more money from his successful books, despite finally buying a house for he and Meiko to move into together, despite things finally going right for him, Alaster still had his fair share of hardships to deal with. One of these hardships lay with the gang Alaster had once enjoyed working with. Relationships with the Deadlock Gang were growing more and more sour. Heated arguments, death threats, failed missions due to incompetence from the gang members, Alaster being blamed unjustly for said failures and incompetence. Eventually, it even led to a failed attempt on Alaster's life. Naturally, the man was furious. He did not tolerate betrayal very well. After devoting his time and money to help them, they would just turn on him? Fine, he did not need them anyway! All he needed was Meiko and the few important allies he had made during his stay in Japan.
This is where Alaster's path has taken him thus far.

[b][font size="4"]Personality:[/font][/b] Alaster is happy and cheerful on the surface.
[/div] [/div][/div][/div][div align="center" style="font-size:10px;letter-spacing:3px;"][a href="http://pixel-perfect.boards.net/user/184"]↺ + HK[/a][/div]

Alaster Corvus QUIRK INFORMATION Quirk Crow's Call
Type: Emitter Rank: C Description: Alaster can emit a special signal from his vocal cords that allows him to take control of the minds of crows, allowing him to make them his weapon of choice. By cawing loudly, the signal is carried by the sound of his caw, and any crow that hears his caw and is within the signal's range will become obedient. Their eyes glow blood red when under the influence of Alaster's quirk. Effects: While under his control, the crows can understand and obey Alaster's simple commands. These simple commands that he can issue to the crows are things like attacking, flying around, watching for intruders and alerting him of any by cawing, and fleeing. Basically, anything that the crows are physically capable of doing that can be summed up in a short sentence (about six words or less). At his current level, Alaster can control up to eight crows with his quirk, and the distance his quirk's range covers is about the length of an Olympic Short Course swimming pool. Drawback and Weaknesses: Because the signal emitted from Alaster's voice is carried via the sound waves from his voice, the crows must be able to hear Alaster's caw for the quirk to work. Regardless of how far the waves from Alaster's voice travel, any crow outside of his quirk's range will not be affected, even if they can hear him. Every crow must follow the same command, and only one kind of command can be in effect at any time. If he doesn't caw again on his next post, his quirk is automatically deactivated, and any crow under his control will be free. They will always fly away from him unless he reuses his quirk and they don't escape his range in time. MUNDANE ABILITIES Writing Rank: D Effect: Years of practice and writing poems, short stories, a few books, and other forms of literature has made Alaster a great writer. Having spent most of his free time improving his skills has made Alaster even better at writing. The quality of his writing is well above that of the average writer, and his books tend to sell very well.
Organ Rank: F Effect: Alaster has spent several weeks learning to play the organ. He has a long way to go before he can create his own villain theme, but he at least has the basics down. He can play some simple melodies and even a short song or two.
COMBAT ABILITIES Pain Tolerance Type: Enhancement Rank: F Effect: After years of getting beaten and being injured in various ways, Alaster's body has gotten used to dealing with pain. Alaster feels less pain from minor injuries than most people
Gun Proficiency Type: Skill Rank: F Effect: Having made frequent trips to the shooting range, all of those hours spent practicing has made Alaster more skilled at using a handgun. The accuracy of his shots have seen some good improvement, being slightly better than those who never used a gun before.
Crow Power Type: Enhancement Rank: E Effect: Besides controlling a crow's mind, the signal emitted from Alaster's quirk also forces the crow's brain to release adrenaline and other chemicals throughout its body, greatly enhancing the bird's strength in a manner similar to steroids. This enhanced strength allows the crow to become powerful enough to damage stone with its beak and talons. However, this enhanced strength only lasts for as long as the crow remains under the effect of Alaster's quirk. PERSONALITY
POSITIVE ✔ Calm, fearless, observant, loyal, friendly to trustworthy people
NEGATIVE ✖ Sadistic, arrogant, ruthless, misanthropic, distrustful, blunt
LIKES ✔ Books, writing, classical music, nighttime, honesty, birds (especially crows and ravens), bloodshed
DISLIKES ✖ Most humans, failure, the law, bright lights (especially the Sun), writer's block, loud noises
PERSONALITY Alaster is happy and cheerful on the surface.
| APPEARANCE HEIGHT: 172.4 cm WEIGHT: 65.7 kg HAIR/STYLE: White, short, slightly untidy SKIN/SCARS: Very light skin, almost pale EYES: Gray, usually squinting NOTABLES: n/a
Alaster is a tall and slightly thin young man. He has short and slightly untidy white hair, light skin, a small and slightly pointed nose, and usually always has a smile on his face. He usually squints, making his gray eye color difficult to notice. Alaster is British, as are both of his parents.
He also usually carries a book with him, whether it's to read or to conceal a small object, such as a knife.

❛❛If men had wings and bore black feathers, few of them would be clever enough to be crows.

Thus, he once again resorted to joining a local gang and doing their dirty work to make more money than he could make alone. In a few months, he moved to a small apartment of his own, where he has been living somewhat comfortably ever since. He is always on the lookout for orders from the gang, jobs from anyone willing to pay, and the law. Alaster commits crimes not necessarily because he wants to, but because he feels that he has to. Until he find another way, a better way, this is the path he has decided to go down.

Writing Rank: D Effect: Years of practice and writing poems, short stories, a few books, and other forms of literature has made Alaster a great writer.

Effect: Having made frequent trips to the shooting range, all of those hours spent practicing has made Alaster more skilled at using a handgun. The accuracy of his shots have seen some good improvement, being slightly better than those who never used a gun before.
Crow Power Type: Enhancement Rank: F Effect: Besides controlling a crow's mind, the signal emitted from Alaster's quirk also forces the crow's brain to release adrenaline throughout its body, enhancing the bird's strength in a manner similar to steroids. This enhanced strength allows the crow to become powerful enough to damage wood with its beak and talons. However, this enhanced strength only lasts for as long as the crow remains under the effect of Alaster's quirk.

QuirkCrow's Call
Type: Emitter Rank: C Effect: Alaster can emit a special signal from his vocal cords that allows him to take control of the minds of crows, allowing him to make them his weapon of choice.
At his current level, Alaster can control up to eight crows with his quirk, and the distance his quirk's range covers is about the length of an Olympic Short Course swimming pool.
Regardless of how far the waves from Alaster's voice travel, any crow outside of his quirk's range will not be affected, even if they can hear him.
Every crow must follow the same command, and only one kind of command can be in effect at any time.
If he doesn't caw again on his next post, his quirk is automatically deactivated, and any crow under his control will be free. They will always fly away from him unless he reuses his quirk and they don't escape his range in time.

Getting two new abilities. One E rank (100 + 200) and one F rank (100): ProgressionDart Gun
Upgrading From: New ability
Upgrading to: Type: Misc Rank: E Effect: Thanks to a recent shopping spree at the black market, Alaster now has a handgun that has been modified to fire darts rather than bullets. Due to this modification, the darts are not nearly as loud when fired, but move far slower than a bullet. The gun can hold and fire up to six darts before needing to reload. The darts fired from this gun can travel the distance of a backyard pool, and they are fired with enough force to be able to damage stone with a single shot.
|
ProgressionBurning Acid
Upgrading From: New ability
Upgrading to: Type: Misc Rank: F Effect: Being the sadistic person that he is, Alaster loves to find many ways to inflict pain on his victims. One of these ways is via a special corrosive acid that he keeps encased within small and easily breakable glass capsules that are usually held inside specialized darts. The acid reaches its victims by either injection with the small needle from the dart, or by the capsule shattering and spilling its contents on whatever they hit. Upon contact, the acid causes mild burn damage to the target's tissue, with a duration of two turns.

Not a new ability, but just a renaming and rewording of one while keeping the core mechanics of it (accuracy) the same. Changing from Gun Proficiency to: ProgressionMarksmanship
Upgrading From: Type: Skill Rank: F Effect: Having made frequent trips to the shooting range, all of those hours spent practicing has made Alaster more skilled at using a handgun. The accuracy of his shots have seen some good improvement, being slightly better than those who never used a gun before.
Upgrading to: Type: Skill Rank: F Effect: Due to being used to fighting from afar and trying his best to avoid close combat, Alaster's marksmanship is better than that of the average person. His accuracy with projectile attacks, such as thrown weapons and fired darts and bullets, allow him to be able to consistently hit targets from a distance of a small room with almost no trouble.

The sent signal is actually a mix of multiple signals that each serve a function. For instance, one signal does the mind controlling, another is a constant signal that Alaster must constantly emit to keep the crows under his control, one serves as a 'translator' that allows the crows to understand Alaster's language, and one enhances the power of any crow under his control. Benefits While under his control, the crows can understand and obey Alaster's simple commands. These simple commands that he can issue to the crows are things like attacking, flying around, watching for intruders and alerting him of any by cawing, and fleeing. Basically, anything that the crows are physically capable of doing that can be summed up in a short and clear sentence (typically about six words or less). - The distance Alaster's quirk's range covers is currently about the length of a short-course Olympic pool
- While under his quirk's control, the strength of every affected crowis greatly enhanced, becoming powerful enough to be able to damage iron with their beak and talons
- Alaster can currently keep a maximum of eight crows under his control
Exhaustion and Weakness: Because the signal emitted from Alaster's voice is carried via the sound waves from his voice, the crows must be able to hear Alaster's caw for the quirk to work. This means that if Alaster cannot use his voice for any reason, then he cannot use his quirk. (Not sure if I need to do the aging up in this format, but doing it anyway to be safe)
Age: 18
Age: 19
tl;dr of all changes made: -Updating to the new app -Removing Crow Power from an E rank ability since it's now a part of the quirk itself -Since his birthday was yesterday (June 13), Alaster's age is now 19 -EXP refund (650 total): 300 from Writing, which is now a Life Skill (one of his starting abilities that was upgraded to D rank) 50 from Organ, also now a Life Skill (F rank ability) 300 from the removed E rank ability (formerly Crow Power)
