❛❛ Polarize Masaki Takeuchi 17 || Heterosexual || Male || Hero |
PERSONALITY POSITIVE ✔ Resolute, Sharp-witted, Meticulous, Well-spoken, Calm NEGATIVE ✖ Naïve, Unforthcoming, Prideful, Systematic, Stringent LIKES ✔ Maps, Books, Ginger Ale, Ingenuity, Cats DISLIKES ✖ Recklessness, Lies, Hostility, Smoke, Snow PERSONALITY It goes without saying that Masaki is socially awkward. He carries himself with poise and refinement but having spent most of his time isolated in his youth, he finds it difficult to have meaningful conversations. For this reason, interpretations of him vary and usually change under circumstance. Some know him to be friendly and articulate, while others find him unsympathetic and critical. Most people expect him to be the stereotypical intellectual; a pompous and cold bookworm – when in fact, Masaki is a selfless and affectionate bookworm. Despite this, Masaki still holds others to high standards and this is sometimes confused for hostility; especially with hotblooded personalities. Unbeknownst to many, he reserves the most grueling and critical criticisms for himself. It isn’t uncommon for him to spend an unhealthy amount of time reflecting on his own faults and even the most trivial miscalculations. Masaki internalizes most of his issues. Proud, Masaki doesn’t like to admit that he needs help and often bears burdens when possible. It’s not always for the best and isn’t always actually necessary, but he’s self-aware enough to know it’s a good trait for an aspiring hero. While he likes his calculations, careful planning, and statistics, he enjoys the pleasant surprises that arise from imagination, creativity, and the unpredictable. It always finds a way to put a smile on his face, mostly because it reminds him of the heroes from stories he used to read about. While Masaki tries to be warm and inviting in spite of his awkwardness, there's a time and place for it. The moves he makes as an aspiring hero are uncharacteristically detached; they are meant to be efficient and a part of a plan. He expects others to perform their part in the same way he would and of course this isn't always the case. Masaki doesn't take pleasure in it, but with so many variables; he doesn't know any other way to deal with unavoidable conflict and danger. | APPEARANCE HEIGHT: 178 cm WEIGHT: 64 kg HAIR/STYLE: A chin-length head of shaggy brown hair falls around each side of his head. It is rarely ever styled, but is almost always neat. SKIN/SCARS: A cleanly and fair complexion, absent of any serious blemishes or disfigurement. EYES: Honey brown. NOTABLES: While there isn't anything standout about him, his lips possess a natural upward curve on their ends. It almost appears as if he's always smiling. Slender framed and trim, there isn't much substance to Masaki's physique. He lacks the physical presence to intimidate, but he sits on a plateau just above scrawny. His shaggy head of hair is usually just left to drape around his head and at brow length over his forehead. On the off chance that he was dressed for a special occasion, it might be brushed back or parted. While his brows are both thin and sharp, his almond shaped eyes are soft and gentle in harsh contrast. Because of an indoor and high-quality lifestyle, his skin is freakishly clean; Masaki lacks any serious scars. While he doesn’t put much effort into his hair, he does try hard to keep his fashion standards sharp. His clothes are clean and when appropriate, pressed. Masaki's hero outfit is a fanciful, white royal garb with red accents and gold tasseled shoulder guards. |
❛❛ Is that your strategy? I don't foresee a high probability of success. |
HISTORY The story begins with one, Masakyo Takeuchi, an astute entrepreneur down on his luck. He was gifted with a quirk which allowed for him to swiftly and accurately calculate as well as predict numerical outcomes. He could view the information with his right eye, while his left, when closed, rearranged the data. Down on his luck, he turned his life around when he was afforded the opportunity to enter the software and hardware industry. His achievements had always been controversial, as his wealth was acquired with the use of a quirk. Before Masakyo’s wild success, enter Tsukio Kyoka, an aspiring law student with a quirk which allowed her to attract metals. Though completely unnecessary for her goals, she was one of the young people who pushed for legislation and protection for “quirkers.” During this time, she met Masakyo and often used him as a case for the betterment of society. Naturally, the two fall for each other and their successes push each other economically upward, something questionable for years to come. Years later, Masaki Takeuchi is born, and his life was a rich one. It was filled with knowledge, opportunity, and very literal wealth. As the son of a successful corporate industrialist and politician, young Masaki was often granted the best of whatever money could afford apart from good parenting. The two were success stories in their industries and this left young Masaki to the care of others most of the time. He was often lonely but found comfort in what he had, specifically stories and a variety of books. He was protected from the strife that was caused by those having quirks and granted the best education. When his quirk manifested, it was a strange one. The ability to pull and push metals with either side of his body; a painfully obvious combination of his parents’ quirks. Once it manifested, something like being a hero wasn’t even on his mind. Especially for his parents, they expected him to take advantage of their resources and follow in their footsteps. It wasn’t until he became older, in private school, that he learned the woes of society and started to fantasize about heroics. The stories of vigilante justice were becoming common place and while he rarely got to see his parents, he noted the effect it was having in home. The times Masaki had seen his mother, she was stressing the tension caused by both criminals and vigilante’s in society. Enter, U.A. High. It wasn’t exactly Masaki’s dream school growing up, but to be fair – he had not had a dream of his own. That was until the idea of becoming a hero was planted in his head. He couldn’t become like his parents; simply put, Masaki didn’t want to. However, he could still make them proud if he entered this society of heroes that was being born. Naturally, his family protested the idea and while he was always eager to please; he was also resolute. There was no going backwards for him and while he didn’t have their support, he had their blessing. After applying to the program, Masaki was accepted on merit and the promise of a strange but useful quirk. So, his journey begins. |
