APPEARANCE AND PERSONALITY
Appearance:
Just looking at his body, one would expect Benjiro to be some kind of martial artist or something of the sort. He has well defined muscles, but he maintains a lean stature by eating well and sticking to a strict training regime. When people see his face, bright green eyes, and well-kept hair, though, they may begin to think otherwise. He has a pretty face, which is a sign of his family's wealth and dignity. A hideous appearance would be a disgrace to the elders and ancestors, so he works hard to maintain his beauty despite appearing more feminine than one may expect. Outside of his school uniform, Benjiro wears high end designer clothing, often at the discretion of his mother.
At the request of his family, Benjiro's alias and costume are entirely tied to the Aito name. He wears a traditional montsuki haorihakama, which is essentially a set of robes that proudly display his family crest on each breast and on his back. Though impractical, it purposefully carries an air of importance.
His haori, the overcoat which was hand sewn by his grandmother, uses a special material that reacts to various elements differently. Throughout his family history, the material was used to predict dry and wet seasons, but with modern meteorology, the tradition is simply carried out to appease the ancestors. With Benjiro's quirk, his haori can be red, yellow, blue, green, or gray. After a while of not using his quirk, his haori returns to a muted brown color. Along with his haori, the haorihakama is made up of long pants, a black kami (the under-robes), a black/white striped shimo (the dress/skirt), white socks, and brown traditional Japanese sandals.
POSITIVE
✔ Perfectionist, hard-working, courageous, independent, calm, respectful (to authority/elders)
NEGATIVE
✖ Perfectionist, cold, pompous, arrogant, lone wolf, cracks under pressure, poor social skills
LIKES
✔ Thunderstorms, sour candy, rom-com TV shows, J-Pop, Japanese history, literature
DISLIKES
✖ Snow, sushi, spicy food, action movies, chemistry, physics
Personality:
Work is all Benjiro knows. His mother and father both pushed him to perfection in every task he attempted; anything less was considered a failure in their household. As a result, Benji is a perfectionist through and through. If something he's involved in is not perfect, he will work himself into the ground until it is resolved. When he notices others not doing something perfect, it's almost impossible for him to stand back idly as they continue down the "wrong path." This strive for perfection has converted Benjiro into a hard-working individual. He wants to achieve perfection, and he's willing to work to accomplish it.
Being an only-child, Benji has never had anybody to depend on in that "older sibling role." If he ever wanted anything, he had to get it for himself, even with his family's wealth in mind. This made him brave enough to stand up for himself, and enabled him to work on his own if push came to shove. He even prefers to work on his own, if at all possible. Part of that has to do with his quirk, but most of it has to do with his general personality.
Since he has been so successful, from his perfectionist lifestyle and wealthy parents, Benji thinks highly of himself and his abilities. He believes he is the best because, for all his life, he has been the best. Some people say to be humble, but why downplay his own abilities? Give them something to strive for. Heck, it may help them in the long-run. With this mindset, Benji cares little for the feelings of others, especially not villains or opponents. His parents always showed him "tough love", so that is all he knows how to give. Around authority figures and elders, Benjiro makes sure to take extra care in being respectful towards them. They have experienced more than he and his peers, so respect is something they have earned.
Benjiro is typically calm and collected, but he starts to get unhinged as he gets more stressed. He starts yelling, acting more manic, and tends to be a lot more bold/careless with his actions in high-pressure situations.

HISTORY
For his whole life, Benjiro has tried to please his family. The Aito family, who live in a rural area on the northern island of Japan, are known for standing by tradition and doing things by the book. His father, Kenjiro Aito, married a wealthy seamstress named Bunko. The Aito family were typically successful businessmen and women, who helped banks and other businesses manage their money. Paired with Bunko's skyrocketing clothing sales, the newly weds have a large sum of cash to their name. Their plan was to have children until they had a male who could become the next head of the Aito family once he was old enough. Fortunately for them, one try was all it took.
Kenjiro wanted his son to be able to carry out the family's legacy better than anybody else ever had. He believed his father (Benji's grandfather) was too easygoing, which is why he felt inadequate compared to other prestigious families in the area. Bunko and Kenjiro did everything to make sure Benjiro did not meet that same fate. Instead of playing with the other children of the town, Benjiro had to study his reading and writing. Through time, Benjiro started to become alienated from other children his age. They started to seem like brainless sheep who didn't have the capacity for greatness he had. As a result, he started to embrace his strict parents and his role as next-in-line for the Aito family head.
Around the age of 10, just a few months before he was sent off to a prestigious private school, Benjiro's quirk manifested. His parents both had rather benign elemental quirks, such as his father's ability to snap his fingers and strike up a fire or his mother's ability to generate a calm breeze and nothing more, so they were both shocked when Benjiro nearly eradicated his entire class by complete accident. Had he not been walking back from a trip to the restroom, his quirk origin may have had a much different tone.
With this new discovery, Benjiro's parents had to work towards getting his quirk under control before they could ship him off to the private school. For the first time, he struggled. If things were ever difficult before, Benji knew he could try again the next day with little to no repercussions. With his quirk, though, time was not on his side. The longer he took to get his quirk under control, the longer he'd have to attend public school with the simpletons. This frustrated him, but it frustrated his parents even more. His already rocky relationship with them started to spiral. After a year with very little progress to show for it, Benjiro looked at his parents as authoritarian figures in his life rather than two people he loved and cared for. They were people who gave him orders and he had to oblige. Simple.
Months turned into years. Benjiro learned how to activate his quirk on command, but there were still times when he would get stressed and release the energy. A few students and servants had to suffer from minor injuries before his parents made a decision. Instead of attending the prestigious private school of their dreams, Benjiro needed some kind of intervention. He needed a way to learn to control his quirk so he could function as a regular human being. If he couldn't, then they would have to give the Aito family head to one of his cousins. Since they all had different family names, the Aito lineage would effectively end with him, and it would be his fault.
UA was the only reasonable option. There, he could learn how to fully control his quirk and earn back the respect of his parents and family. Plus, who knows? Maybe he'll learn a thing or two about how to become a better person through his time at the school. It is prestigious in its own regard, after all.
