| ◀ | Prezioso fascio di gioia ❤ Well this is just lame! Ingrid sighed. She loved her family. She loved her mom and dad. They meant more than the world to her! For them, there was nothing that Ingrid wouldn't do. Still, the girl resented the fact that she was often treated like a child. This is such crap! If this were Italy, I would already be an adult! Stupid Japan, and their stupid laws! Why do I have to wait till I'm 20? That's so dumb! Ingrid knew that she was childish, and in all honesty, that was her preferred mood. However, that did not mean that the girl was an actual child! She was old enough to make her own decisions! Why couldn't her parents see that?
...I can't even get some privacy while I work.
Seeing as Ingrid's room was full of bags of trash and junk, the girl could not work on her latest inventions there. Since she had no workshop or anything like that, it meant that Ingrid would have to move to the family garage to work on her projects. However, her parents insisted that the girl leave the garage door open. It was so dumb! Ingrid hated going outside whenever she didn't need to, and opening that garage door was as good as being outside in the girl's eyes. However, there was no room for argument. While Ingrid lived here, she had to abide by her parents' wishes. They had already given the girl so much leniency. But apparently this was where they drew the line.
I guess I'm gonna have to deal with the possibility of random strangers looking at me while I work. I mean I already get enough of that already. Like, I know I have both brains and beauty, but jeez, why can't those pervs just keep their eyes to themselves? Whatever.
So Ingrid had no choice but to work hard while the garage door was open for anyone passing by to see. At the moment, Ingrid just had some random parts and gadgets lying around, as well as her laptop open and her toolkit. Right now, she was working on several things. First, she was building a simple robot as a short exercise, one that looked like a mechanical cat. An empty shell for now, but it would soon be fitted with a chip containing a simple AI that Ingrid had spent the last week making. Second, there were spare robot parts. Things like extra arms, legs, and even mechanical eyeballs. And third, there was a black and red chest plate that was part of an armor upgrade for Ingrid's favorite robot companion.
Speaking of her robot companion, Beta had walked inside the garage, noticing his master hard at work. The tall black robot bent down on one knee, as though bowing politely to a queen. "Signorina, you've been hard at work for a while now. Might I suggest you take a break? To avoid burning yourself out, I mean?" Ingrid sighed as she reached for her toolkit. "I'm already suffering as it is, Beta. Ugh, having to ignore the nosy neighbors is a pain. So why would I need a break if I'm already going through pain? Might as well stick it out to the end." Beta nodded. "Understood. Should I get you anything, then? Something to help you focus?" Ingrid pouted. "Go check if we have any snacks. If we still do, bring me cookies. Chocolate chip if we have that, or anything else if we don't." The robot nodded. "Understood, signorina. I will get them right away."
Ingrid sighed as she continued putting certain parts together. Maybe I should take a short break. I have been at this for a couple of hours now. I could use a good distraction. The girl then glanced outside, watching a random neighbor walk by. Not that I'll get any over here. She wished she could be proven wrong. However, this was a generally quiet neighborhood where nothing too exciting happened. Still, anything could happen. |

Yusaku walked around on the rooftops, going about his day with his usual machine precision and feline grace. It had been a good long while since he had felt this happy and good about himself. He had come a long way since his old times. Strutting about, he would eventually have to drop down from his elevated position and continue down the street.
As his paws quietly tip toed around, he would pass past one house then the next. Looking around with no real focus, he would eventually come by an open garage door. Someone was building something inside. Out of curiosity, the android slowed down his pace to take a glance inside. He saw a girl building something small...het something robotic. He chuckled, thinking it ironic that his general appereance was basically not so different from that small cat robot. It seemed people enjoyed cats and robots much as he did back in the day.
"Hey, Miss?" He called for her attention, waiting for her to turn around. "Screw number Left 5 is crooked by 2.31 degrees and is overtight by about 3.47 Newtons per square inch. Right 4 and Left 3 are solid though." He would point out at the individual parts. She might appreciate the imput with someone capable of such precise measurements.
With that said, the catbot would raise one of his large paws up to wave at the young lady before turning towards the road to resume his leisure stroll.

| ◀ | Prezioso fascio di gioia ❤ Looking around the neighborhood for a moment, Ingrid did not notice anything interesting so far. Just a bunch of boring, everyday people doing boring, everyday things. Lame! Sighing, Ingrid looked away and went back to working on her simple cat robot. She was so bored. She hated this feeling. Working on tech was usually very exciting. However, this whole atmosphere was ruining her mood. She hated having the whole world looking in at her. Well, just the neighborhood, but to Ingrid, it felt more like the world. Meh, this sucks. And what's taking Beta so long? How long does it take to look for snacks? Jeez!
As the girl continued to work absentmindedly, she was startled by a voice. At first, Ingrid felt irritated. Wow. Wasn't expecting to see one already! Alright, time to look at which one this was, so the girl knew which house to hack into and wreck later. But upon turning around, what she saw made all of the earlier boredom, irritation, and frustrations go away. It was like love at first sight. Oh wow! So adorable!
Ingrid listened as this mechanical feline perfection gave her some incredibly precise instructions. Normally, such a thing would piss her off to no end, as she believed herself to be a genius, and as such, hated any implication that her masterpieces had any sort of flaw. But right now, Ingrid didn't care. "Ah... Okay." She very quickly and easily made the proper adjustments. "All better. Thank you!" Ingrid couldn't help but stare. Oh, how she wanted to poke and prod at that metallic body! How she wanted to take this technological marvel apart to see how it functioned, to put it back together and make it even better!
But it seemed that Ingrid's new object of interest was just about ready to wander out. Nooooo! The girl didn't want to let go of her new best friend in the whole wide world... despite only knowing it for like a few seconds. "Wait! Please, er, why not stay for a bit? Unless you're in a hurry?" Ingrid ran over to the robot, getting very close to inspect and admire it from various angles. Personal space, what was that again? "Wow, I have seen plenty of tech in my days, and I gotta say, none of those come close to the sheer perfection that my eyes are staring at right now." Ingrid continued to stare in awe. "That is some very sick and adorable armor! Who made it for you? It looks really nice!"
Being too excited to care about proper manners, Ingrid wrapped her arms around the robot, giving a warm hug. "I'm sorry, I'm just a massive nerd and fan of all things technology! I can't help but admire you!" Humans, who needed those? Robots were where it's at! "If you want, you can stay over for a bit. I got snacks." Or at least Ingrid hoped she did. What was taking Beta so long? "So do you prefer cookies or cake? Or are you the type of robot that consumes fuel? Do you prefer oil or electricity? Or do you have an alternate source of fuel?" So many questions, so much admiration, so little personal space. But right now, Ingrid wouldn't really care, continuing to fangirl as she kept her arms wrapped around the robot until she was asked to back off. |

Yusaku turned around just in time to register the young lady from before zooming out of her garage to compliment him about his looks. Well, that was something new. Granted, he was kind of cool looking. That he had to admit.
"Oh? Yeah sure. I can stay a bit if that is what you want." He agreed, not really having it in him to refuse. She had the same sparkle in her eyes Goro had. He could tell she was even more into tech than he would have guessed. Gently tapping his chest with his paw, Yusaku chuckled.
"Prototype nanotechnology. I guess you don't see it every day uh?" He commented, tail wagging lightly as he followed her back to the garage and somewhat shyly took a look around. He was then asked a bunch of new old questions. He had alot of experience with those.
"I am a fully sentient robotic suit of armor designed to be worn by human pilots and enhance their capabilities, though on my own I assume I look like an android cat guy. My name is Yusaku Izumi, by the way, nice to meet you. As per the eating question, I eat electricity. I can absorb it with these..." He would open up his hand and show his metallic paw pads at her. "I can drain just about any type of battery." He concluded.
"What about you? From the looks of it you are an engineer of sorts and you seem pretty good at it. Did you ever try an build yourself power armor?" He asked.

| ◀ | Prezioso fascio di gioia ❤ Ingrid smiled cheerfully, jumping up and down excitedly as she did so. "Yay, yay, yay! I promise, I will do my best to show you a very fun time!" Ingrid did not want to screw this up. How often did the perfect robot buddy just happen to show up at one's doorstep? Or, well garage in this case? Regardless, this was one very huge opportunity for the girl, one that she did not want going to waste.
The girl blinked in surprise upon listening to her guest's answer. "Wait what? Nanotech?! That is soooooo cool! I never got to even touch nanotech yet, let alone work with it! Ooh, so lucky!" She then realized that she was unintentionally being rude by cutting off the robot mid-sentence. "Oh, whoops! I'm sorry. Please, continue. I promise to shut up now." True to her word, Ingrid would remain silent as she let the robot continue speaking. She couldn't help but be so excited though. No person had ever successfully made Ingrid feel this way.
Ingrid would learn several interesting things about this intriguing guest. First, he was not just a robot cat, but an actual sentient wearable armor capable of enhancing his wearer's capabilities. This fact alone nearly made Ingrid faint. You're saying I can actually wear you? Ingrid thought to herself. That is way too amazing! Where have you been all my life?! Second, his name was Yusaku Izumi, which made the girl feel even more guilty for forgetting the most basic of manners. "Oh wow, I am again so sorry! Where are my manners? I'm Ingrid. Ingrid Fabbri. Very nice to meet you!" And third, he ate electricity, apparently by absorbing it via the pads on his paws. A shame that meant she couldn't offer him cookies, but at least there was plenty of electricity to offer.
Nodding, Ingrid smiled proudly. "Yup! Genius engineer, at your service! I'm also really really good with programming, so I got hardware and software covered!" Well, self-proclaimed genius, but the girl was pretty smart, so perhaps genius wasn't too far off. "Well I can and have built armor before, even if it absolutely pales in comparison to you. I just haven't built it for myself. Mostly because I'm not much of a fighter." Ingrid shrugged. Technically, this was untrue, as Ingrid did know how to fight. She just preferred to let Beta do all the fighting for her.
Speaking of Beta, Ingrid smiled as she looked at Yusaku. "Ooh, I wanna show you something awesome! Give me a moment, please." She then turned towards the door that led to the inside of her home, and began calling out loud. "Beta! Hurry up and come back with the snacks! And be on your best behavior! We have a guest!" Oh, that reminded Ingrid of something very important. She would quickly take out her phone and begin to text her robot, making sure that no part of her phone's screen was visible to Yusaku as she typed.
Oh, and make sure you hide your swords somewhere before coming back here. I don't want you scaring our guest. Do NOT ruin this for me! >:/
A few seconds later, Ingrid would receive a short and simple text.
Sì, signorina. I understand.
With that done, Ingrid would smile as she looked at Yusaku. "Sorry about that. My 'friend' will be arriving shortly. He's a bit slow at times, but I promise he's cool. I want you to meet him. I'm sure you two will get along!" Ingrid grinned. She couldn't wait to see Yusaku's reaction once she showed him her surprise. But in the meantime, she wished to talk with Yusaku more, to get to know him better.
The only question there was where to begin. "So um, what are some of your favorite hobbies, if I may ask?" She supposed this was as good a place to start as any. "Besides building tech and programming, I like to play games, surf the internet, listen to music, and sometimes bust out the guitar and mess around with it for a bit. What about you? Anything you like to do for fun?" Contrary to what her behavior might suggest, Ingrid wasn't just being nice to Yusaku because he was a robot. The girl wasn't that shallow. She genuinely wanted to get to know him better, try to befriend him if she could. |

Yusaku chuckled. Well this girl was just a bundle of happiness uh? Ingrid Fabbi. English name yet Italian surname. Her family sounded interesting.
He gave her a nod and with a snap of his paw-hands, the cat would wiggle for a moment and then cat was no more. Having turned into a bunny, Yusaku bounced slightly on the spot, showing Ingrid how quickly he could change his shape.
"I can change shape and size as I please. I usually go around as a cat but I don't mind throwing a bit of bunny and a sprinkle of wolf in there too, perhaps with a side of lizard as well." He chimed, hopping around the young engineer for a better look.
"It's the thing that allows me to adapt to any body shape and size. You know...one size fits all. You seem to be into engineering and robotics a fair bit, so if you don't mind being a cat or a bunny you can try wearing me for a while. Who knows, maybe you can get inspired for a project or two." He offered. If he could help people with anything he would at the very least try to offer his aid to others. If anything it also worked in his favour this time. If she was as good as he though she was, he could probably ask for upgrades or help with his woes.
Yusaku's bunny ears tilted to the side as Ingrid mentioned a surprise. Someone he should meet. "Oh? I mean, sure I don't have much to do today." He would agree, following up on the other question about hobbies. The robotic bunny placed a paw on his hip and used his other hand to lightly tap his chin.
"Hm...well I am a Pro Hero, so I'm somewhat busy with hero work most of the time..." he mumbled, thinking about his life. "I am not a human so I don't really eat or sleep or drink in any regular way. Though I guess I like walking on rooftops and stay in high places. Usually I listen to Jazz when I do that. It's my way to relax."

| ◀ | Prezioso fascio di gioia ❤ Ingrid's heart had melted (thankfully metaphorically and not literally, or there would be massive problems) upon seeing Yusaku change from a robot cat to a robot bunny. "AWWWWW!" Not being able to help herself, Ingrid once again hugged and cuddled Yusaku. "SO! FREAKING! ADORABLE! I CAN'T EVEN-" She then realized how embarrassingly childish she was being and reluctantly let go. "Ah, I'm so sorry about that. I just couldn't help myself! Do you have people admiring you all the time? Because seriously, you're like the most impressive guy I've ever met!" Perhaps it was a tad bit excessive, but Ingrid felt otherwise. Cat, bunny, wolf, lizard... What couldn't Yusaku become?
Though if that wasn't enough to make Ingrid extremely excited, now Yusaku was actually offering to let the girl wear him. Immediately, the girl began to jump up and down excitedly. "Sì! Er, I mean yes! If that's alright with you, I mean. Doesn't have to be right away if you want." The longer Ingrid talked with Yusaku, the harder it was for her to remain calm and mature. She was just far too excited! No person had ever made her feel this way before. People were just so boring to her. But Yusaku was practically perfect! If only people could be more like Yusaku, then maybe Ingrid would care a bit more about them. Oh well, nobody's perfect. Some just came closer to perfection than others.
Ingrid listened closely as Yusaku began talking about himself. Apparently, he was actually a pro-hero! "Wait, really?! That's so cool!" That was honestly pretty surprising. Hmm, maybe I actually should try and keep track of all the heroes Japan has if there are cool ones like Yusaku among them. The irony of a hero having a friendly conversation with a villain was not lost on Ingrid. She would have to keep that fact to herself, however. Best not to risk it. Still, she didn't think any less of Yusaku just because he 'played on the opposite team', so to speak. In fact, Ingrid really didn't mind heroes and vigilantes in all honesty. They were a necessary part of society. Unlike most typical villains, Ingrid didn't really have any problems with heroes, as long as they stayed away from her family. In fact, the girl was often more than happy to use her knowledge on engineering and programming to help heroes out.
The girl continued to listen. Apparently, Yusaku liked walking on rooftops and staying in high places. "Ooh, that sounds really fun!" Ingrid was not sure if it was wise to admit that she liked to hang out near rooftops as well. It was definitely not a good idea to admit she liked to swing from roof to roof with her wires. Stupid laws and forbidding fun with quirk use. "Ooh, jazz is cool! I'm more of a Eurobeat girl myself, but I also listen to classical, rock, r&b, the occasional metal, even video game music. I like pretty much anything as long as it's not cringe." Like those awful garbage 'songs' that plagued the radio nowadays. Massive cringe!
Before Ingrid could say anything more, the door had opened. Stepping inside was the tall cloaked black and red robot. "Finally! What the hell took you so long?! Jeez!" The robot got on one knee as though bowing, and extended an arm, holding a box of chocolate chip cookies. "Mi dispiace, signorina! I wanted to ensure that there were indeed snacks in the kitchen, and only the ones you like. I apologize for the delay." As the girl snatched the box of cookies, she would then wrap an arm around her companion. "You're so lucky that you're so adorable, mister!" Ingrid then smiled as she looked at Yusaku. "Yusaku, this is Beta! He may be a bit of a digital dummy at times, but this is still my greatest creation, and I love him so much."
The robot then stood up, extending an arm towards Yusaku. Ingrid had programmed it to have manners, after all. "The full name is Blade Knight β, but just Beta is fine. A pleasure to meet you, signore!" Ingrid grinned. "The Blade Knight part is just there to make Beta sound edgy and cool." A lie, naturally. However, admitting to anyone, much less a pro-hero, that the robot carried actual swords around was probably not the wisest thing to do. "Beta always makes sure that I'm safe and sound from pervs wherever I go. He is like my knight in shining armor! Or he should be, but he acts more like a third dad in all honesty." Third dad because besides her biological father, Ingrid saw the Boss as her second dad of sorts. Again, best to not actually mention him. Civilian life and mafia life should not mix, after all.
"Be on your best behavior!" Ingrid would whisper to Beta as she began to open the box of cookies. The robot nodded and quietly responded. "Sì, signorina." Ingrid wanted to talk more with Yusaku, to get to know him more, to see what he thought of Beta. And most importantly, to get to wear him like armor. How awesome would that be? Ingrid looked forward to it. |
