Well, this opportunity had proven to already to be more than she expected. Mina had received a call from Ms. Kidzu after a few days to work out the final dealings, contracts being fully set up, measurements needed for the costume she would be in and a few other things. One of which was being told that her driver would be around to pick her up at 10am. She was expecting to have to drive herself or get a taxi to the location but not having to worry about that was quite nice. But on the day of the shoot, Mina would walk down to the rather expensive looking car and would be driven off. Watching the streets of Tokyo pass her by, right now Mina was dressed in sweater and some jeans to hopefully ward off the cold weather. Her long raven hair tied back into a ponytail; her normally made-up face was completely bare since she had a make up artist on sight waiting for her. The hero saw little reason to make them work more by having them remove what she would normally put on. She honestly was having trouble hiding her excitement, trying to keep her smile hidden under a straight face mostly made her look like she had a amusing thought and was trying not to laugh at it. But how couldn’t she be excited? It was more than a starting gig wage wise but the more she investigated the company and Ms. Labelle herself… well how could anyone be anything but? They were much larger than she had expected, she could now understand Ms. Kidzu’s surprise that Mina never heard of them before. Speaking of which, she hoped Ms. Kidzu would be there, she wanted to sing her praises of her in front of her boss. But eventually the car would pull up to the skyscraper that held the soundstage and Mina would take a deep breath in as her excitement turned into nerves. She had been shot at before, both for advertisements and by actual weapons. This will be nothing in comparison. As the driver would get out of the car and open the door for her, she would thank him before walking into the building. Pressing the elevator call button, she would look around the building as she waited. Many people walked around minding their own business, not even looking at her or recognizing her. It bruised her ego slightly if she would be honest, as much as she had a small group of followers, she was far from being able to walk into a building and be immediately recognizable it seemed. But if everything went as planned that should change soon. But as the elevator dinged, she would walk inside and hit the floor the shoot was on, making her way to the sound stage once she left. -------- Marceline Labelle

Well today was the day she and her new ‘hero for hire’ would meet. Officially speaking at least. She wasn’t too sure how to adjust herself, if at all, but she felt that if she at least shifted herself enough away from the optimistic incompetence of Kidzu the two of them should be differentiated well enough on personality alone. Passing through her walk in wardrobe her fingertips traced the edges of her clothes. She didn’t need them, she knew that. She could always generate a new outfit based on her desires or something designer she’d subtly scanned with her quirk in the past but… oh it just felt so good to have them.~ Just walls full of clothes. She liked to tell herself she wasn’t someone who just wanted to flaunt her wealth but she absolutely was.. Dear lord it was part of why she got into this business. Sure, easily enough she could make anything she ever wanted for herself, but why do that when you could use your tricks and your charms to work your way up to the top and own the genuine articles.
Logical? No. Thrilling? Oh lord yes.~
Coming to the end of her wardrobe, she picked a few items off the rack, a cozy looking sweater and some jeans with a thicker inner lining but still rather form fitting. Helped her still hold the figure she was proud of without freezing her ass off. Plus, it didn’t look the MOST formal. She wanted to give the impression to her potential new contracted hero that she wasn’t overly stuffy or overly business. She had Sam for that.
Speaking of…~
“Sam dear.~ Are you ready?~” Striding out into the side room off of her own once she was dressed, she looked over her red headed bodyguard fixing their body-armor into place. Slim and lightweight, easy to conceal but hardly fashionable by a long shot. They didn’t expect to fight the hero or anything, it was just part of the job.
“Just fitting the last strap into place. Is there a reason that quirk of yours can’t just magic me into this every morning?”
Marceline rolled her eyes, tugging the edges of the lightweight concealed armor. “My quirk mostly generates thin products. I can cover you in a layer of clothing, maybe a fluffy sweater since it’s just a collection of fabrics, but complex materials like Kevlar or shock absorbant padding like this? Far from what I can manage. Don’t worry though, I’m getting better every day.~” Stepping back, she swirled her hand in the air, a halo appearing above her hand and tossed over her guard’s head, descending slowly as it coated her in a fine black suit and tie. Sam did always like the more ‘boyish’ styles and it did seem to suit a bodyguard. “There. All better.?~” She snapped her fingers, a final spark from her halo spawning a pair of shades over the woman’s eyes.
“Much.”
Arriving at the shoot not long after, Marceline was checking on the set and the food to make sure everything was going as planned. Really they could have just emptied out one of her café’s for the shoot but she much preferred having a more private, controlled experience than worrying about the lighting outside. Plus it was weirdly cute seeing her establishments recreated so quickly out of plywood and foam where needed. Another set was a barren street, the kind of thing you’d see in a hero movie with a few trashed cars and empty buildings, all of them just cardboard prop ups but they’d fix that up with CGI or something to make it look more authentic. Again, they could have rented out a street, but she also felt putting it all in a more enclosed space made it feel more ‘budget.’. In the end it was probably still fairly expensive, between the makeup-corner she’d set up, the several outfits she’d acquired, the sets, the CGI she’d do to make the commercial look high end-
But, well, she needed to show this woman things could still get better, so she made sure to make things look juuuuust budget enough to still be treating her with respect but also not look like they were blowing the whole wad on her on the first go.~
When she heard the door open her head swirled about, and with a bright smile she speed-walked over to greet the arriving heroine. A few others swirled their heads, some even rose to offer her a seat perhaps, or guide her to the makeup section of the room, but seeing Marceline beating them to it, they all quickly settled back into their positions.
“My myyyyy.~ A real hero gracing my workplace. I won’t lie I half didn’t expect you to show but I’m so glad you did.~” Stepping forward, Sam remaining close behind her to the side, Marceline held a clipboard she’d been taking notes on close to her chest in one hand and offered the other with a light bow. “Marceline Labella, a pleasure to meet you. If it’s not rude to say I must admit you’re far prettier than your media-shoots lead on. They always have you look so stiff in those government press releases you know?~” Instantly Marceline seemed far more quick and confident than the Kidzu disguise she’d first met this woman in, and was genuinely eager and bubbly about meeting her.~

It really didn’t take long, almost as soon as she opened the sound stage door she would hear a ‘My myy’ ring out, causing the hero to turn her head as a green-haired woman would saunter excitedly towards her. It didn’t take much to figure out who this woman was. The way she walked and talked; she was mostly undoubtably in charge. “Well I agreed to be here, and I like to think of myself as a woman of my word. Besides with all the strange caveats I gave to my employment it would be just wrong to snub someone who worked so hard to make them work.”
Mina would reach out and shake Ms. Labelle’s hand, making sure to leave a strong first impression was key to making this last after all. Although she was a bit caught off guard by the complement as a slight rosey hue would cross her cheeks. Between her and Ms. Kidzu, Mina was wondering if being attractive was one of the hiring requirements for this company.
“O-Oh I’m nothing compared to you, besides, you asked me to come without my uniform or make up so I really can’t look that impressive. But it’s great to finally meet you Ms. Labelle, the way Ms. Kidzu talked you up it was like she revered you like a goddess. Where is she by the way? I was hoping she would be here. I wanted to talk her up in front of you.” The raven-haired hero would look around a bit for the hapless assistant.
“Well either way, if she hasn’t gotten one yet I do think she is worthy of a raise.” Mina would say with a slight giggle, only to sigh slightly after. “But yes, the government wants a level of professionalism for their projects, which usually means having a straight face for public records. It felt like a mug shot rather then something for publicity. We are supposed to have a connection to the community, but they are so stuffy about it.”
While Mina felt comfortable in her current surroundings, she let lose a bit on how she left about her job. Or maybe it was just a reflection on her current situation. It would be up to Marcie to decide on if she wanted to try and pry that from Mina. “But before we move onto make up, Ms. Kidzu was a bit secretive about what I would be wearing during this shoot and I will admit I am quite curious.”

“Well that you did I suppose.~ Still I imagine it wouldn’t be hard for you hero types to find a valid excuse. I mean it’s not like I’d be in good standing if I challenged you on a contract because you were busy saving a school bus full of kids hm?~” She was clearly just playing about but the truth was there. It wasn’t like she had much ground to control a hero based on contract alone without coming off like an absolute asshole, buuuut luckily Mina seemed to prefer to play along than make any excuses or to focus on her hero work… which just made Marceline feel this would be all the easier in the long run.~
Taking the offered hand, she’d give it a firm shake without hesitation, a nice warm smile and tucking her clipboard and ipad under her arm she’d let her second hand join the first, clasping the back of Mina’s. “It truly is a pleasure to have you here.~” Seemed flattery was going to get her everywhere with this one given how she reacted to those compliments. “Oh dear honestly if this is how you are without makeup? I better get off set quick or I might die of jealousy once they finally do put a layer on you.~” She winked, clearly just teasing, and also testing the waters a bit to see just how flustered she might be able to make this interesting heroine should the need arise.
Hearing that the woman before her was showing interest in the assistant, Marceline was actually a little surprised but… well, she could quash any doubts on that rather easily if she was given the time to prepare. She glanced back to Sam but suppressed a rather sly smirk on the matter before returning her gaze to the heroine. “Oh I can definitely pull her over if you would like to see her. She just nipped out to get me a coffee. She definitely is a sweet girl isn’t she?~ As for a goddess… well I’m happy for the praise, certainly, but I can assure you I don’t deserve such high praise.~” She dipped her head a little, trying to show some humility through her chipper tone.
She tried not to chuckle at the mention of a raise. Sure, she’d give that non existant twit all the raises you want. Wasn’t going to cost her a penny. “I’ll see about letting her manager know to put that into her next quarterly review.~”
Turning on her heels she started moving the two of them naturally towards hair and makeup, one of the workers pushing along a clothes rack beside it. “Welllll we actually have a few selections for you. How we planned to organize the commercial was with two key environments, and we’d have a few takes of each. One-“ She gestured to the coffee shop set. “Will be you enjoying a nice warm coffee of the Labelle blend, a prop of course if it’s not your taste, and the other-“ She gestured to the city street set. “Would be a simple shot of you say, standing over a defeated criminal.~” She chimed, a little proud of her idea if she was honest. “Now for the coffee set we have a selection-“ She separated a chunk of casual clothes to one side of the rack, sweaters and jeans, a summer dress, etc etc. “We have a rough idea of your size but basically we want you to choose what you would genuinely find comfortable and relaxing attire… while still being nice enough to enjoy a nice little bit of café coffee..~” she chuckled softly. “And the other-“ She moved to the one lone item on the other side of the rack. It was a more… ‘luscious’ version of the woman’s hero attire. It was clearly a replica, but designed with a bit more ‘flow’ and gloss to the fabrics, very clearly lacking in any armor or functional gadgets however. “Is what we’d have you wear for the street set. The intent is that we’ll film a few takes on both mostly for aesthetic, and dub you over them. That way we can re-organize and re-air the commercial as needed. We could have you shown beating a hardened criminal, then enjoying a nice relaxing coffee to give the message of it being a way to relax after a hard day of work. Or, we can have you sip the coffee first, then the street scene, implying it’s a great way to start your day. It means we waste less of your time getting re shoots, and we double the potential timeslots we can fit the commercial into which meeeeans…~”
Sam chimed in with a raised hand. “We spend less money and she makes more off royalties.~”
Marceline playfully snapped her fingers. “Bingooo!~ So, what do you think?~ We can re-work some ideas or I can have someone go fetch another outfit if none of the ones we have appeal to you?” She seemed to be making a genuine offer, and a few curious heads peeked over wondering if the Heroine would approve of the choices they made for her potential ‘relaxing’ wardrobe. Or the mock version of their hero costume they'd tried to make. At the end of the day, everything could be re-done and replaced pretty sharply, especially with Marceline's hidden quirk but... well, she was curious if the woman would play the diva and try to get changes made for her, or if she'd be awestruck by the effort they made, or even try to make suggestions on what they'd already decided with the script or the like.

“Oh, it’s quite alright, I wouldn’t want to inconvenience her.” Mina would say in response to the assistant. But Mina could feel her face flare up red with a bit of embarrassment! Ms. Labelle was quite the flatterer, wasn’t she? Although Mina could help but wonder if it was just excitement from this being their first time working together and trying to get on good side or if was how Ms. Labelle was all the time. Either way a small boost to the ego wasn’t something that Mina was just going to let pass her by! It felt good to be praised.
But Mina would follow the green-haired woman around the set as she was led to the make up and costuming set up. On the way pointing out the two sets she would be working on for the day. One was a dead ringer for the coffee shops she researched online. The other was a street set, with some destruction seemingly hitting the practical part of the set. The background being a green screen. A lot of light were pointed at that part of the set as well to block out all shadows. Mina figured there would be some editing magic on that part of the set. Although Mina would laugh slightly at the idea of her standing above a defeated villain. “Oh, that could be fun, considering my quirk is best used at long range, standing triumphantly over the villain like a won a brawl is something I am not used to doing.” She would smile was side as the idea sunk in. Besides that degree of separation might be enough to get people off her back since it wouldn’t be fully representative of what she can do.
But her attention would pull towards the clothing rack, her eyes tracing over the possible selection given to her. Everything for the most part seemed like it was custom made, only having to require minor edits if anything. But as she would flip through the clothes, a bit overwhelmed at the raw selection in front of her, attention was brought into her hero costume stand in. Picking up the new uniform she would feel the fabric and hold it up to herself. As she would expect any level of armor her normal suit had was gone. But the fabrics felt so much higher quality. Some places that where normally covered is a mesh was replaced with a sheer covering. Some parts edited or removed, probably to make it look more attractive on her form. Despite the changes she quite liked it. At least from just how it was now. Who knew if she would like it once slipped on? “Well, it definitely wouldn’t protect me. But with the exceptions to what you changed this is surprisingly accurate to my actual uniform.”
For a simple commercial the amount of work that the green-haired woman put into this was staggering to say the least. “I’m still unsure on what casual clothes I will wear, I am so used to being in costume for these sets the options are a bit overwhelming.”
It was something she was slightly embarrassed to admit but perhaps after the hero shoot portion of this her mind would be made up. But it wouldn’t help that Marcie probably noticed that she hadn’t let go of the hero suit since she picked it up. “Shall I get changed and report to make up?” For now just going with what they had planned would probably be the best idea, she didn't want to rock the boat to much to start.

Phew. Close one. While Marceline had some she could trust with her quirk’s true nature, such as Sam, she didn’t want to introduce Mina to another version of the woman she met so soon. She was certain if she put a disguise on Sam they wouldn’t be able to pull off the ditzy, eager to please bubbliness she’d conveyed when the two first met, and there were only so many times she could convince anyone that one of her disguises was bi polar or, god forbid, had a split personality. Best to avoid that where she could.
When Mina pointed out she didn’t usually get to stand over the villain, Marceline clicked her tongue in some genuine frustration, mostly at herself, cupping her chin as she examined the ‘heroic’s set again. “Ah. Right…” She muttered to herself, wondering if they could get a last second change on that in any way, but the buildings weren’t designed to be stood on and they didn’t have enough artificial street for a dramatic enough long range shot. Plus, asking the woman to use her quirk for a shoot of all things likely wasn’t very professional to ask of a hero. “Well, so long as you’re happy with it. I’m sure any budding fans won’t mind seeing you so powerful and in charge either way hm?~”
With Mina’s attention moving to the clothing, Marceline did smile a little as she started to notice the replica of her hero costume. She’d tried not to make too many edits to it, still make it look professional but with more flair than practicality, and nothing too eccentric beyond the original design. Restrained within the already given limits so to speak. The warmth in her smile as Mina complimented it was rather genuine, having used her own eye to suggest many of the alterations. With her mother working in fashion when she was a child, Marceline liked her own keen eyes for such things to be recognized. “Well no one’s expecting you to wear it into a real battlefield, but I’m glad the alterations aren’t too much.~”
The overwhelming choice on the clothes did make her giggle a little though, rolling her eyes playfully. “Well dear if you really can’t decide we have plenty of time to mull it over. Push comes to shove I’m sure I can decide for you. Now.” She lightly clapped her hands and smiled brightly. “Quite right. If we’re starting with the hero set I should get to seeing how the final preperations are going. Make sure your ‘co star’ so to speak is in good makeup himself.” She gestured to the edge of the room, a small section of almost cubicle like ammendmants to the room acting as changing stalls. “I’ll be easy to find once you’re ready.~”
(Feel free to skip over makeup if it helps, or we can go through that, your choice.~)

Mina would perk up and immediately feel bad as her off hand comment about her quirk was really a long-range quirk so standing over the enemies wasn’t something she really had done. Despite Mina being rather excited for the possibility finally becoming a reality, it seems her goal seemed to cause Ms. Labelle to freak out bit. “Oh, don’t worry, believe me I think it will be a lot of fun. Besides this is your script, so I will make it work on my end.”
“But my uniform does look a bit more natural than it does with all the padding from the armored bits. Yeah, I know it’s synthetic stuff so it’s not super bulky, but this already seems more breathable.” The hero would add going back to admiring the recreation. How she wished she could wear something that seemed so lightweight and breathable. “But yes, I think the hero stuff should be first so while you do that I am going to get changed.”
All things considered the make up and costume process went the same as it did on any other set: time consuming and tedious. But by the time she was done she would walk out of make up and wardrobe in her replica costume, the fabric sitting comfortably on her, perhaps even more than her own costume. Looking herself over in a near by mirror, Mina wondered if Ms. Labelle ever considered working in her costuming. She seemed to have a knack for it, or at least she knew someone who was. But despite the lack of protection the costume gave it was nearly one for one. A bit more showy and a hint more revealing. Her make up on the other hand wasn’t to far away from what Mina did on her day to day. A bit heavier to account for cameras and lighting but she was overall impressed. The Green Haired CEO must really have an eye for accuracy to get even these details down.
The Hero would track down her employer once she was done, her footsteps echoing slightly in the open room. “So, Ms. Labelle, how do I look?” Mina would ask when she pinned down her target, doing a slight spin to show it off. “I must say it’s just as comfortable as it looks. Have you considered looking into hero costuming? This is rather impressive; I could drop a word in for you. You would have to do a security clearance and all that fun stuff, but you would really diversify your portfolio. Even if you are just hiring the people to do the actual work.”
