Yusaku prowled the campus' rooftops, neat precise movements and calculated motions as usual. He was hunting. His prey was not an animal though, no. He was hunting sounds. He had picked up something in the air as he walked that way and now he was super curious to see where it was coming from and find out from whomever it was originating.
Yusaku's feet paws made little to no sound as he approached the area where the flute playing to the wind sounded more vivid. It was someone with long hair. Dark colored hair too. From a quick scan, he did not seem to recognize the silhouette. Yeah, definitely someone he did not know. From the looks of it, it probably was one of the new students.
Enthralled by the performance, Yusaku moved closer, remaining quiet as to not disturb the player. The last thing he wanted was to interrupt the performance. There was nothing more jarring you could do to a musician, that was for sure. If his little outlets with Elise had something to teach him outside of how to play the piano it definitely was all about musician etiquette. So, for now, he'd just enjoy the music from a few steps back. He'd ask the guy what he was doing up there on the campus' roof as soon as he was done with his practice.

The sound of an ethereal flute was resonating through the school grounds. Its gentle tunes were less shrill and more calming than an ordinary flute, obvious that whoever was playing had enough practice to make it sound pleasing and magnetizing.
Shinme was sitting on the roof of the practice building. His legs were dangling down over the edge, his body lightly swayed as he was playing. In his hands, he held a classical Chinese bamboo flute, a dizi, his arms raised to the right side of his face, long fingers taping away on the instrument rhythmically. The wind gently obeyed his rhythm, creating a breeze around him, catching his hair, swaying his ponytail. He wore the school’s winter uniform so not to stand out among the students, but over it, he had a thick black haori, wide-sleeved and loose. The wind caught it too, flowing it behind him like a cape.
During certain parts of his music, he closed his eyes to give himself fully to it, so nothing else would distract him. There was only the flute, the sounds, and the breeze gently caressing.
And so, he didn’t notice anyone moving up behind him until he deemed his practice enough, and lowered the instrument, onto his lap. The wind quieted into its natural speed gradually, and so, his ears could pick up other sounds as well, like the quiet scrape of metal, a movement that wasn’t there before.
Shinme turned around in his sitting, one knee pulled up to lay on the roof’s edge beside him, fingers still holding the flute. He found himself eye-to eye with... something... he wasn’t sure what. It looked more like a robot out of a mecha anime than anything else. “Whoa!” He reeled back, surprise evident on his face. He kept his balance, unafraid to fall off to the garden below. “Whoa whoa, what are you?” It fell out of his mouth, instead of “who are you”, but there were no takebacks anymore. He stood, swiftly and fluidly, but didn’t step further in from the edge.
If Yusaku really did ask him what he was doing up there, Shinme wouldn’t mind answering. “Oh me? I was just practicing with my dizi.” he said with a cheerful smile while twirling the instrument between his fingers. “Didn’t you hear the music?” Something occurred to him. “Wait, you can hear in that... armor... right?” He wasn’t even sure what it was, but it had eyes and limbs, and it showed up on school grounds, so it had to be related to school. In either case, he was curiously peering at the robocat from where he stood, waiting for reactions before launching an excited waterfall of questions.

Yusaku chuckled. Some things would never get old...
"My hearing frequency goes from 1hz to 100k hz. I can hear you just fine." Yusaku replied, hopping closer as he studied the boy with a hint of curiosity. How would this one react to the news? Bets are off.
"As per your other question, I am a sentient quantum robot with intellect far beyon human reckoning." He'd casually add while knocking at his empty inside to make a point. He was teasing really, but considering he needed to repeat the same things and answer the same questions every time he met someone new the robotic cat decided to have a little more fun this time. "Military grade power armor right here. People do wear me for fun or work, but I am quite more popular when it comes to somewhere comfy to sleep in." Yusaku's digital eyes "winked" at the boy.
"Though you can call me Yusaku. Hero course class 3B. I guess by the looks of it, I am also your Senpai." The robot would conclude, taking note of the guy's appereance underneath the more traditional wear. The guy in front of him was wearing a UA uniform, so his earlier prediction was correct.
Walking over to the edge of the roof, disregarding the clouds forming up above due to the windy conditions, the robot offered his big paw for the guy to shake. "I believe you humans say "nice to meet you" when they do meet more than "what are you"." He teased, chuckling. He probably should stop confusing the guy.
"Jokes aside, the long story short is: I was a human, quirk happened, mind trapped in power armor. So now I am a walking talking suit of armor other people enjoy wearing for fun and profit. Pretty weird I know, though you're free to wear me yourself if my words do not sound convincing enough. The whole sphiel about sleeping? All true. People love my interior foam padding, they say it's quite comfy. They also say once they're in it becomes real hard to stay awake. Their words not mine, mind you."

Oh, good, he was able to hear him at least. And that means he heard the music as well. That was even better, because Shinme was quite proud of his flute music.
But his mind did an almost literal record scratch at the robot’s answer.
Sentient quantum robot... what???
His eyes went wide at first, because wow, really? That would actually be so cool, but then he squinted, thinking through his words yet again, watching the robot with a decidedly critical eye. He smelled bullshit. But what if he was telling the truth, and he was actually some military grade weapon that Shinme stumbled upon accidentally on school grounds? This was either the start of a very dangerous mission, or a very detailed prank. “Wait, really? What the hell? What powers you? Electricity? That sounds unlikely. You said quantum robot, but what does that mean? Do you have some super special mecha powers? Are you here to take over the world and robotify everyone? Or make the humans the slaves of artificial intelligence? Not that some people aren't already slaves of that...”
He had a name at least, that is always a good start. “Yusaku” was not something he personally would call a sentient robot, or whatever. He looked at the offered... paw... with a weird smile, wondering if there were some tazers in there, but before his mind would run away with him too much again, Yusaku offered an explanation that, although sounded much more over the top, was still believable for Shinme.
“Oh thank god you are actually human.” Was the first thing that left his mouth as his shoulders fell in relief. “I was honestly wondering if the robot apocalypse was starting before I could have my first class in this school. That would be a true downer.” Once relief washed over him, he schooled his expression into an appraising one. His hand was raised to his chin, deep in thought as he looked Yusaku from head to toe, circling around the student – now he knew he was a student – to really observe that body.
“Trapped in a suit of armor? Isn’t that uncomfortable? You say others wear you, but how does that feel for you? Aren’t you heavy? I honestly can’t imagine wearing another student on me. Wow, even saying it out loud is weird. Wow, no, no, no!” His mind already made a spiral down into some uncomfortable imagery, but a shake of his head chased it all away. “Sleep, okay, sleep, you say people sleep in you? I mean, how? Standing up? Or you lay down together to sleep? You must be pretty situational, I mean, you are tall, but not too tall.” Shinme was already taller than the other student, so even him wearing him as armor would be impossible, not to mention the majority of the world. “Making a taller suit of armor would make more sense, that would be more versatile, wouldn’t it?” He had no idea how special Yusaku was yet, but he would learn it soon enough.
At the same time, Yusaku already learned that once Shinme started to talk, his voice was like a spring breeze, never ending, steadily rushing out of him.
“Oh, where are my manners. Nice to meet you indeed, fellow human.” He grinned. “I am Shinme.” And then he would grab onto Yusaku’s hand for that handshake, even though he probably already lowered his paw. Shinme was already on his other side on the edge of the roof too, after walking around him to see more of that body.

Yusaku chuckled. Well, that was someone energetic and curious to know! Not the first and not the last but he seemed really into mecha and other tech stuff despite the traditional garb he wore and the flute he played.
"I one hundred percent run on electricity. Be it biolelctricity from someone's quirk or artificial one. I do actually like to drain batteries up as a snack, LiPo batteries especially. That also mean that yes, I am technically environment friendly." He would begin to answer questions one by one as soon as they were made. He had a coputer for a brain so processing all those different queries was easy peasy.
"I grew up enjoying being a robot. Has its ups and downs though the ups far outweight the downs. I weight 87 kg, my inside as I said is padded and lined with kevlar under ceramic plating." Now there's a question not many asked him. "When others wear me it feels nice and relaxing, not to mention it's quite interesting to see how they move about as a humanoid feline." He summed it up to that, though he could have explained more abut the whole process. It just seemed that the guy was after some quick knowledge, so the catbot just cut the details out and got straight to the point.
"I can stretch and morph to a degree to accustom for different body sizes. I can fit you like a glove and generally I tend to remain very snug to skin tight on my pilots to minimize profile and avoid impairing movement." He could also technically change form completely, but that was more of a cosmetic thing.
"Yes, people do sleep inside me and have done so multiple times. My padding is insulated and temperature regulated all the time specifically so that it reaches the optimal conditions for my pilot's comfort. That does mean some people when very tired have fallen asleep inside me, which usually mean I have to walk their limb body back to their room and settle them on their bed." It was a rare occurrence by now,but it happened more than once so it was worth mentioning. "Or as you said, I can just lie down and function as a super expensive sleeping kirigumi basically." He concluded, allowing the young student to continue his inspection.
"Does that answer all your questions? You can always try me on if you want to experience it first hand." He teased, hand on hip and wink on face. He'd stuck out his tongue like Yumi always did...if he had one that is.

Shinme’s questions were usually either rhetorical, or only expected to be answered half of the time. So when this little robot started to patiently answer all of his silly queries, he was a tiny bit surprised. It wasn’t enough to show up on his face, but he did pause and then smile widely when he realized Yusaku had his questions memorized and then he went down the list to give all his answers.
Ran on electricity. That in itself was already interesting enough, but the fact he could be powered by electric quirks just made all the different possibilities open up and form theories in Shinme’s mind. It was possible Yusaku could never run out of energy if that was the truth, but that also depended on what kinda people he surrounded himself with. Though, if the robot was already knowing that much, he probably was talking from experience. Shinme nodded in understanding, then continued to listen.
“Huh, you aren’t as heavy as I thought”, he admitted. He easily estimated the robot to be more than a hundred in kilograms. “Though, considering your inside is hollow to accommodate another human, it’s not that surprising. Ah, so it feels nice to you too, not only the ones wearing you? It would be awkward if you were uncomfortable, I guess.” Again, he nodded, reassured by the fact this time.
“Whoa, skintight? You really are like some overpriced powersuit.” In a somewhat fidgety manner, he pulled his hair to his front. “Ah, no offense, you are a student here, sorry, sorry.” Belatedly he realized he shouldn’t talk like Yusaku was some kind of object, he was a person, although in the body of a robot. How did that happen anyway? He did mention something about his quirk, but still. It was just like one of the seven wonders of the world.
Yusaku probably had these questions asked often, because he answered with fluid professionalism. Or, well, it was all due to the programing, or the algorithms, who knows. Shinme wasn’t all that in on tech stuff. “You do sound comfy enough, no wonder people fall asleep then. It’s still kinda hard to imagine though. I mean. Fall asleep while standing? While surrounded by armor? Nuh-uh. That sounds so weird.” At least he couldn’t imagine himself doing that, but sometimes he had trouble falling asleep in a bed already when he had too many things rushing through his mind. “But, expensive kirigumi, hehe.” That in itself was a funny mental image.
But was this enough? His ears perked up like a cat’s interested in a new toy brought home when Yusaku mentioned it was possible to fit even Shinme inside.
“Not nearly all my questions”, he grinned. “But it will do for now.” He said that, but then continued on with more questions. “Wait, if you were born as a human, wasn’t it hard enough to change your, you know, whole lifestyle as a robot? I don’t think I could do it. You have to do everything so different as a human. You can’t even eat now.” He paused. “You can’t even eat now!” He repeated, more horrified than the first time. “Oh no, that sounds horrible. All that delicious food!” Although Shinme was slim and no one would expect it, he liked his stomach quite a lot, especially filling it with yummy food, being it spicy or sweet. Hunger was an enemy, and food a friend.
“Okay, so, what do I have to do to try you on?” He grimaced. “Dang, it still sounds weird, try you on, ugh, sorry, I have to get used to it.” Shaking his head, he circled around Yusaku, skipping sideways. “So. Do I take you on a date first? Do I offer my life long servitude in exchange for power armor? Do I have to sign some contract? How does it work?”

"Robot life has its ups and downs, after a while you stop crying the humanity you lost and start appreciating the little new things that come with the body of nuts and bolts." Yusaku answered. It had been years since his change, he had pretty much forgot how to live as a human.
"No need to sleep no need to drink no need to eat, can't die, have internet inside of your head, look cool as hell, walk on walls and ceilings, lift alot of stuff, tazer hand paws, night vision, heat vision and a plethora of other things." He would add, giving the young long haired lad a "wink" from one of his digital eyes.
The robotic cat would giggle at all the weird propositions Shinme made up in exchange to wear him. He really was someone with a wild imagination. They were going to be great together.
"I just need you to take off your shoes and any loose clothing like that thing you're wearing right now." The catbot pointed at the incriminating evidence. "As I said, I get skin ting on people to ease them into our fusion and avoid the feeling of heaviness. You can wear it again over me if you want to."
Yusaku sized up Shinme once again. He was more than capable of wrapping around someone his size. The long hair might have been a problem in the past but he had so much experience with Yumi he could do it eyes closed.
"It used to be much more difficult to wear me you know? Back in the day people had to climb inside me themselves. Thankfully I have alot of cool friends capable of upgrading me. If you think I am cool now, wait a few weeks until I convert to nanotech!

“Hmmmm,” Shinme contemplated what Yusaku said about robot life, but just shook his head in the end. “Maybe, but I just can’t imagine myself suddenly turning into a robot. All the respect to you, I wouldn’t be able to accept it like that.” He nodded, voice honest and serious. He liked his current life, he liked is flesh and blood body, his clear mind and bright heart. With those nuts and bolts, he feared he would lose all of those, but seeing how Yusaku accepted his life like that really invoked a new kind of respect in him for the student. Even with the pros listed, Shinme just pinched his nose. “I will leave all the brain-nets and ceiling-walks to you, You seem to be used to it already anyway. I am just content to know you are satisfied with your current life.” Even if Yusaku said he couldn’t die, this wasn’t the kind of immortality Shinme was told to work towards in his life.
All his ideas for a date and contracts flew out with the wind when Yusaku hand-waved them away, and instructed Shinme to instead take off loose clothing and his shoes, as they would be in the way for the robot to work his miracle. Uncharacteristically to his previous cheerful and jumpy attitude, Shinme’s hands grabbed onto the edges of his haori, as if holding onto it to make sure it stays on his person. “Do I have to?” he question was almost a pout, his brows furrowed in thought to figure out a way to keep the piece of clothes on but still get to wear the robot as an armor. No matter how fast his mind was racing, he came to the same conclusion: Yusaku knew best how to make the process comfortable, and if he said Shinme had to take something off, there was no way around it.
He started with his shoes, pulling the black trackers off his feet meticulously. “Climb into you? So how does it work now? Do you fly around and reshape yourself around the person, or something?” Asking questions seemed to be meaningless at this point, as he would see exactly how it worked soon enough. In the end, he also pulled his haori off his shoulders with the biggest pout he could manage, and carefully folded it, placed it on his shoes so it wouldn’t get dirtier than necessary. His flute was laid on top of the clothes gently.
“Okay, I’m ready!” He said, arms held to the side as if he was ready for a hug. “Work your magic!”
