| “What? You have to die for it?” Shinme literally reeled back in his seat upon hearing that. “A miracle is fine, I mean, you will become a hero, so you will have plenty opportunities for that. But no, please don’t aim to become a saint, in that case. Don’t die, don’t die!” He repeated, watching Lewis with intent, making sure there was no overly self-sacrificial nature there, no will to die for whatever cause. He pointed a finger at Lewis for emphasis, looking at him with a surprisingly strict expression. “No dying! But it’s okay to want to do good. Just, you know, take care of yourself aside from taking care of others.” He wasn’t sure he fully got what it meant to be a Saint. Becoming one after actually dying was completely different than how Taoism worked for example, where the people aimed to better themselves in life to gain immortality. In a sense, it was the complete opposite, and though his mind understood it, it was hard to accept.
Shinme solidified the promise to get back to the question in two years with a nod. By then, both boys, and all of the other students will be able to decide what they want to do with their life, so who knows what his answer will be. Whether it will change at all, or not.
“Lu. Hm. I like “Lu” the most, I think.” He mused out loud, but decided to use all three names in different situations, especially now that he got the okay for it. If all three worked, there was no reason not to use them all, after all.
He formed a V with his index and middle finger. “My parents are awesome. As are my grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.” He grinned, shaking his hand, then picking up the hem of his haori to fidget with the fabric. Their family was a big one, and although Shinme was a single child without siblings, he always had children of the same age in his family to hang out with. Most of them live in China though, but he does have a cousin on his father’s side of the family here in Japan.
He almost fell on his side laughing when Lewis yet again mentioned his father. “Oh wow, he is awesome! I totally agree with him too, ahahahaha!” But then he righted himself, still letting out a small giggle, then nodding, raising a hand to his chin, the other under his elbow. “Fitness or boxing instructor, huh? That actually sounds really interesting. You certainly have the body for it.” A grin. “You can become famous as an instructor too! I hear some of them are literal celebrities, and people almost fight to get to their lessons. So who knows, if hero work isn’t for you, you might still get famous in a different way.”
“Come to think of it.” He idly looked around for a clock on the wall. “You did say you wanted to go running as your morning routine. Do you still have time to talk? I don’t know what else you have to do in the mornings. Is this how you got all buff, or is that actually part of your quirk? If the first, wow. If the second, lucky, and I hate you.” It was an aimed joke, and he was sure it was obvious from his expression of delight. “I have heard we will be given training regime too, and I already dread the time I have to wake up early for that. At least you are already used to it.” The delight turned into a devastated fall of his shoulders as he hung his head. He had a feeling he found a friend in Lewis, – he hoped he did –, and who knows, maybe Shinme will be able to wake up early if it was for the devilspawn. He was surprisingly bad at making long-term friendships. With his overly direct and touchy-feely attitude with even strangers, he made friends easily. But to actually keep those friends, that was a hard thing to do, and only half of that was Shinme’s own fault. Some people just weren’t meant to put up with the boy’s eccentricity, and if things became too bad, Shinme would just let them go, being self-aware enough to know he was too much. “What do you do after a run? Punch away at some bags in the gym?” He looked up, curious now how exactly Lewis’ routine usually went without a hurricane standing in his way.

Shinme's reaction to how to become a Saint made Lu give a small smile and laugh. That was quite a response. In truth though, it was a very understandable response. "Don't worry, I don't plan on dying anytime soon" It was like he had said earlier though; he wanted to do good, and if after he died he became a Saint, then that was nice, but it wasn't his goal. Doing good and being good were always the priority to Lewis. Getting credit or recognition never was what Lu strived for. While it was nice to hear people thank you for what you did, to Lewis, if you went out to seek praise for what you did, that was greedy. Greediness was not a good quality to have, in Lewis' mind; it was one of the key sins after all.
"Any are fine" Lewis reassured Shinme as the other declared their like for the Lu name. While he had known some kids growing up who disliked getting overly feminine or masculine names, or having their named turned into the opposite gendered version of their name, none of it ever got to Lewis. While he understood gender-fluidity as well, his ease with the names wasn't tied to that personally. He didn't care if someone called him Lucy, even if that was a girls name. It just didn't bother him. Maybe that was tied with his parents not making a big deal of the name, but it was all a pretty mute point overall.
Lu again listened carefully as Shinme talked. He was glad the other boy was so willing to talk about himself. Lewis was never a fan of talking about himself, so having others take control and discuss their own things was nice. It definitely took the focus off of him. Shinme began to fidget with his cloths as he talked and Lewis' nearly solid yellow eyes followed the hands before looking back to the other. It was really good Shinme had such a loving family. Lewis also couldn't help but smile as the other burst out laughing. It was infectious, and the positivity seemed to radiate off of the other boy. He gave a small, sheepish nod when Shinme complimented him as well. "Uh, hah...thanks. It's been a good 10 plus years of work" Lewis really took to exercising at a young age and had luckily kept with it. He wasn't very sure if being famous though was his goal. Helping people, be it as a hero or as an instructor, was meant to be just that. A way to help people. Again, recognition wasn't the main goal.
Lewis gave a small shake of his head as Shinme questioned his looks. "The body is self made, outside of the devilish features" It was very nice to receive the compliments about his body and the shape he was in. It wa sone of the few things Lewis prided himself on. As Shinme continued to talk, Lewis gave a quick glance at his phone to see the time. "Hm, ya...I'd usually be out for a run right now, but I run every day. Today was my easy day anyways, so I can skip today's morning run" While it was true you shouldn't exercise every ay, that was more so meaning you shouldn't overdo your exercises. Lewis made sure to go out for at least one run a day, but he only truly worked out six times a week. Even then, only three of those days would Lewis actually count as a proper work out. The other three of the six days were more so small workouts, more so to keep his body in shape. Today happened to be one of the latter.
"I'll just go for a longer run tonight. And usually after the morning run, I shower, eat, and do some light boxing exercises in my room, I have a speed and heavy bag" Lewis gave a small gesture back to his room and then thought on Shinme's words. If they were given a regime from the school, then he'd probably have to work around it with his own regime. "Oh, hey, well...there's no better time than the present to work on a task. I could wake you up daily to help you get in the routine of it for school, and any training we have to do. The offer for joining my morning runs is still on the table"

| Being reassured Lewis wasn’t planning on dying was, strangely enough, calming. They were still young and healthy, but they have entered into the hero course, so who knows what kinda danger it would bring with it. A promise like that was at least something Shinme could dangle in front of Lewis when the boy decided to be a bit more rash than necessary. Though all things considered, Shinme might be the more rash of the two in the end.
All of Lewis’ nicknames were given green light, so Shinme could use them all without worry. It was surprising how chill Lewis was about those nicknames, but Shinme wasn’t about to prod for the reasons.
However, when he heard how much time it took for Lewis to have his body gain that kind of muscle, Shinme froze, and stared at the devilspawn. Then, after a moment, he closed his eyes and gave such a devastated sigh it couldn’t be for anything else other than for dramatics. Eyes still closed, he fell on his side, plopping down the couch’s length with a little grunt. “Ten years?! That’s too long!” He groaned, letting his hair and haori lay around him in disarray from his fall. It didn’t seem he was about to sit back up. “Wow, I respect that, but wow, ten years? Seriously?” He listened Lewis explain his usual routine, what he does during the mornings, and Shinme had to wonder why the boy needed to be in the hero course at all. He could just show his abs and biceps to the villains and they would run away. Or surrender. Both seemed equally possible. And he is saying today was his easy day!!!
“How are you real?” He murmured, peering up at Lu from his position down on the couch. He shifted to his back, pout still apparent on his face, and raised his legs, hooked together, to lean them against the backrest of the couch, getting more and more comfortable. His shirt almost rode up on his hips, his haori and hair was partially falling off the couch in a soft mess. Arms were laid across his stomach. "Doing this every day seems impossible. When do you have time for everything else? Like, for hobbies? Friends?” As if he was one to talk, but they were talking about Lewis right now. To give all his attention to the boy, Shinme turned his head to the side. If it was any warmer in the lounge, he would be able to fall asleep in this position, sprawled out on the couch. “Mrgh, I don’t think I can wake up early enough, and even if I did, I couldn’t run. Not with my eyes closed. It wouldn’t be funny, running into walls and whatnot. You will have to carry me after five minutes. Though, I can accompany you on evening runs, if those are a regular thing as well.” That seemed more manageable on the long run. “I went to karaoke at two in the morning once before I slept, so you can imagine how active I might be when I wake up...” To say that Shinme was not a morning person was an understatement.

"Well, I mean, it hasn't been like 10 years straight. I just remember really starting to get into fitness when I was really young" A small yet nervous laugh escaped Lewis' mouth as he rubbed the back of his neck. He looked away from the other teen for a second before he moved his hand from his neck to his other hand, fidgeting slightly. Lewis didn't think his exercising was that big of a deal, it was just something he had always done. From Shinme's reaction however, maybe it had all been a tad excessive? Lewis felt like he needed it however. There were a lot of negative thoughts in his mind about himself and his work outs always helped him cope with them; they provided a very nice distraction.
The other teen seemed like a very positive force, which was very good. There had seemed to be nothing but compliments coming from them and while Lewis wasn't sure he deserved even half of them, he was grateful to hear them. Shinme did seem to also be very comfortable with their conversation as it continued, and even more comfortable on the couch. "Well, I guess it's easy to find time for my hobbies when exercise is one of them?" Another small laugh escaped his lips, but he didn't respond to the friends part. Sure there were some people who may call themselves his friends, but Lewis' self doubt often made him question if they really were or not. He really didn't have much to offer others in the sense of a friend. Given that many people also just stared and gawked at him, any friends he had, also had to contend with getting starred at themselves.
Lewis gave a nod to Shinme as he once more pointed out his preference for sleeping. "That could work. And who knows, maybe you'll find you really like the running and you'll eventually want to join in the morning one" Lewis knew from his own experiences that the best way to get into a routine, especially one involving so much activity, was often to ease into it. It never helped anyone to just rush into something at 100%. It was always best to work up to that point.
At the mention of Karaoke, Lewis rubbed his chin. "I mean, you'd maybe have more energy in the morning if you didn't stay up until 2 in the morning" He was clearly teasing and wasn't attempting to tell the other how to live. Just like with Lewis' exercise routine, others would get into their own routines. Some people worked late into the morning and slept during the day, some slept for about three hours and were perfectly fine for the other 21. It wasn't his place to tell others what to do.
His mind wandered back to his routine, and he soon got up from the seat. "I guess if I'm not running, I can eat earlier. Would you like a smoothie? Or, hm. I have extra time today without the run, would you like some applesauce pancakes?" While pancakes never really took too long to make, Lewis usually liked to clean anything he ever used to cook. His usual go-to breakfast was a smoothie, and that often had very little clean up. Both options that Lewis had given as well were vegetarian. He himself followed a vegetarian diet, so he always made sure to ask about that style of food first when offering anything. He wasn't the best cook in the world, but he could whip up breakfast pretty easily, including some easier meat dishes if asked of him.
