| To the absolute surprise of his family and himself, Shinme was accepted to the new, prestigious hero school called U.A. He would lie if he said he wasn’t literally floating in happiness for half an hour after he got the okay from administration. He wasn’t discouraged by the fact he still needed to do tons of paperwork before he could actually start his school as a second year after March.
Okay, no, maybe he was very discouraged, but that never stopped him before. The school gate almost did though...
Anyway. After hurdling himself through one or two obstacles and reached the faculty office where he needed to hand in some papers, he was next sent over to another office to hand in another kind of paper, and then was sent to somewhere else to – surprise, surprise – hand in some more papers.
What the actually hell. Idol agencies weren’t this troublesome. He had to wonder if they were just playing a trick on him specifically for coming into the school late for first year and unprepared for second year, but when he asked an unsuspecting faculty member about that, he was quickly assured that was not the case.
Somehow he wasn’t convinced.
Anyway #2. He was bored, very much so, and before heading toward his last goal to skillfully and expertly hand in some more papers, he took a little detour. No one said he couldn’t take a look at the school building and the dormitories around, so he decided to do just that, if only to take his mind off of the papers and the unnecessary stress they were causing. Whatever will he do if he gets wrinkles from all this, seriously.
With a carefree smile, a cheerful hum and a skip to his steps, he circled the building that was supposed to be the dormitories where the students were taking residence during the school year. His stylish, black pants and baggy black shirt was almost completely covered by the opened, long, wide-sleeved coat he was wearing. This was his casual wear, and wherever he went, his slender form was covered up by something, either a haori, a big coat or a huge shoulder-scarf that the wind can catch into. Today, it was his coat that did the trick of floating around his form like an opened kimono. His hair was pulled back in a high ponytail by his trademark red ribbon, completely matching the accents on his coat and shirt. He first walked around the dorms to check the building from the outside, and then, when he found little to take note of, he walked in with the confidence of a resident.
To his luck, but also to his utter disappointment, no one was in the halls, not even a guard to send away the unwarranted guests. With absolutely nothing and no one to stop him, he had an uneventful journey up to the rooms on the male side of the dorms.
Most of the rooms were empty, at least that was what Shinme assumed from the absolute silence that nearly deafened him. It was on the afternoon, so most of the students had extra lessons or club activities, or were otherwise busy with whatever the junior heroes usually did around this time. Saving the world or something like that. He needed to walk around for a few minutes until he heard music coming from one side of the floor, and found a room with its door slightly ajar. His smile widened, and with light steps, excitement in his veins, he shuffled to the door and crouched down to peek inside.
Knocking and walking in to say hi was utterly nonsense. And boring as well. So he checked to see what was happening inside, and once he was sure there was indeed someone, most probably a student in there, he whistled. Quietly, lowly, but enough for a little breeze to pick up, trickle into the room and pull into the air whatever that was on the unsuspecting student’s desk.
If the dorms weren’t haunted by a ghost until now, they sure as hell were now.

Today was exhausting. The young student had gone through immense amounts of training today and was sitting still on his bed, finally catching a break. There had been a hero 101 quiz, some sparring he did on his own that morning, more quizzes...it was a lot for the diamond maker. Eventually, he passed out. Dreaming of the future heroics he would be doing and whatnot. He woke up from his nap about three hours later, mostly rejuvenated, and decided to turn on his GameStation console and play Ultra Bash Brothers. He naturally played as Little Zac and destroyed the enemies before him, mashing buttons constantly.
It was understandable then, that he didn't here the new student walking around the halls. He continued to mash buttons nonchalantly until a slight breeze came through his door. He immediately paused his game and looked to his window, "That's weird, windows not open or anything." He said looking toward the door. In an instant he made a diamond hand and swung it open. Sitting there was what he assumed to be the perpetrator, more than likely using his quirk to try to prank Eli, "And just who the hell are you? You new or something?" He asked.

| Luckily, Shinme had thick skin on his face, and in a sense, he was shameless. Embarrassment glanced off him like a ball off a wall. Whenever someone caught him red-handed, he had the guts and the charm to either explain himself out of the situation, or otherwise change the topic so skillfully people almost forgot why they were mad at him. At least that was the usual of his routine, and he intended to use all his skills at his disposal in U.A. as well.
His whistle stopped moments before the door was swung open by... something... that Shinme didn’t quite see from his position. He didn’t bother standing up, so while crouching, he raised a hand high in greeting, and smiled, wide, and bright.
“Yes, hello, I am quite new.” Seemed like he wasn’t miffed his little prank had no effect on the student. The things his wind picked up slowly floated back down on the youth’s desk. “I will start my next school year here. Nice to meet you!” In his full-black outfit, without the U.A. uniform, he looked much like an outsider, but at least he had his acceptance letter with him. Paperwork was, after all, finally done. More or less.
He put his elbows on his knees as he was crouching, then leaned his chin on his palms while peeking inside. Who cares he was caught doing a prank. He acted all casual as if nothing happened. “Wow, so is this how a dorm room looks? It’s bigger than I thought it would be. Do you live here alone, or do you have a roommate? Living alone in the dorms is boring, the whole point is to live with others, isn’t it? Oh!” His eyes scanned the room and landed on the currently paused video game. “What are you playing with?” He jumped to his feet and skipped into the room without being invited, long hair swaying behind him, then leaned slightly forward as he laced his fingers together behind his back. “An RPG? No, a fighting game? Which is it?” He was honestly just barely in on the current hip games, he was more up-to-date on other sides of pop media culture.
His voice was lowered in a mock deepness. “Are ya winning, son?” And wiggled his eyebrows.

Eli looked at the boy in front of him, if he was embarrassed he hid that emotion very well. Either that or he had no shame what so ever, which at UA was more common that one might think. The boy who he assumed tried to prank him had long black hair, and dark eyes that Eli couldn't quite tell the color of. The boy also seemed to be plotting something, what could possibly be going on in the boys head right now? Eli could only wonder as he began to hear his voice once the boy stopped whistling.
The boy began by stating that he was in fact a new student, a incoming first year in fact. He wore a full black outfit that made him look unique for sure, definitely didn't look like he was from UA with that outfit on. He looked really exhausted and it brought Eli back to the joy of all the paperwork he had to do when he first came to the hero school. He absolutely despised it. The boy crouched, placing his elbows on his knees as he continued speaking to Eli, commenting on how his dorm room looked, thankfully he didn't have a roommate as he spotted the video game and let himself in. What had Eli gotten into now?
"First, all our dorm rooms are unique to an extent. Like I've brought my guitar here, some posters of Nirvana and whatnot. I don't have a roommate, I used to but he left UA so there's that. You are somewhat right on the point being to live with others, it is more fun if nothing else. And I'm playing a fighting game, Super Bash Bros. Unlimited. You wanna join in? It's a fighting game." The boy finished as the boy asked if he was winning... he mentally facepalmed. He then looked at the clothes he was wearing really quick, realizing he should probably change. "Oh I also I'm gonna change real quick, hope you don't mind. Just my shirt though cause I was in the process of changing while playing my game so." Eli said, not knowing what boundaries were. So he took his jacket and shirt off, showing his upper body entirely to the new student who was likely embarrassed by the sight. Eli naturally had a 6-pack after 3 years at UA. He then grabbed a red shirt and threw it on. "So who you wanna play as?" The boy said, having no shame whatsoever.

| It made sense for the dorm rooms not to be completely identical, but when Shinme made the mention, he meant the general appearance of the rooms, furniture placing and the space itself. He was already imagining how he would decorate his own room once he signed in to the dorm, but that was still a little bit away. When the student mentioned his guitar, Shinme perked up in visible interest, and scanned the room for the instrument. Music was one thing that instantly drew Shinme into whatever conversation, and he made a mental note to ask Eli to elaborate later.
“Sure, I would like to join!” He said when it was offered, and jumped forward. “I know nothing of this game though, so you will have to explain. Though, fighting games are easy, right? I heard they are easy. I can just button-mash and win. Oh, sure-sure, I don’t mind.” He shrugged, finding it weird the other even needed to mention he would change out of his shirt. “Hmm~” Shinme plopped down on the floor in front of the TV, and turned back around to watch Eli undress. Shinme was even more shameless than Eli, having similarly no care for boundaries, so he wasn’t at all embarrassed about the naked upper body of another man. He liked what he saw, though. “Eyy, will I get so buff after a year at U.A.?” However, if Eli expected more of a reaction, he would have to be disappointed. Shinme learned to keep certain things to himself so as not to get on the wrong side of people.
“No idea.” Shinme pouted. “I don’t know any of these characters. I mean, hey, a few of them are familiar, but I don’t know how to control them at all.” He wasn’t sure he wanted to play an animal, so he looked through some of the options, and pointed to a character dressed in black, holding a book and a sword. “He will be fine” he said, swaying in his sitting.
Grabbing for a controller, he waited for the game to be started. “What happened to your roommate? You said he left U.A. Did he move away? Or got sick? Had some trouble with the school?”

As Shinme entered the room, he would notice a bunk bed in the back right of the room, where a very rowdy blonde named Darren use to sleep on the bottom. Eli looked at the bunk, remnants of Darren's time there were all that remained of the boy now. Eli needed to get rid of the bottom bunk eventually, as well as all of Darrens shit. He just... couldn't bring himself to get rid of it all. Darren's old bass laid on the back wall, next to Eli's own guitar.
Shinme then vocalized that he wanted to join Eli's game, so he paused it went to the fighter select screen, and then proceeded to change as Shinme selected his character. While Eli change, the boy in his room watched, but Eli paid it no attention, and simply answered his question, "Took two long years for this actually. I'm not really anything special though, my quirk is what I use more than just regular strength." He finished, it really had taken the boy forever to get this 'Fit' so to speak.
Eli finished changed and sat down on a bean bag next to the first year, noticing he had picked the white haired boy, and Eli meanwhile went for the cartoony version of the blonde boy in a green tunic and hat. The boy then asked what happened to Darren and Eli spoke in response, "I'm honestly not too sure, he just kind of left as far as I know? He was kind of a trouble maker, but he knew not to cross a specific line so I know he wasn't kicked out. It's honestly really confusing because out of all the 3rd years, he wanted to be a hero the most..." Eli finished, picking up his controller and mindlessly playing the game.

| The guitars were the most magnetizing objects in the room for Shinme. He expected one, but found two in the end, and he eyed the instruments from his place on the floor. Though the boy mentioned owning a guitar, he didn’t say anything about a second one, but still, Shinme had no reason to think it would belong to anyone else unless the senior himself disclosed that information.
“Two years?” he pouted. “That’s a long time. Wait. Actually. It isn’t long at all. Two years and you are already looking like this? What kinda strict training regime did you go through?” The question was more rhetorical so he wasn’t expecting an answer, though actually getting it would be, admittedly, nice.
On the topic of the roommate, Shinme wasn’t sure what he expected. The answer was more vague than imagined, which just made it more odd. As if the school itself had some weird secret that makes the students disappear without a trace, never contacting their friends again. Even though he knew there was a logical explanation, imagining something outrageous was still much funnier.
“Huh, left without contacting his roommate? Hm, well, maybe that isn’t so odd...” But he decided to drop the topic, as who knows what was going on behind the roommate’s absence. Shinme had just arrived to the school, so he wasn’t one to judge. After all, who knows where he will be a year from now.
As the game started, Shinme did exactly what was expected from a complete newb – lost gracelessly while button-mashing. “Whoa! Whoa there, what was that, some kinda special attack? Hey, jump jump jumpjump---Oh come on! Ah, by the way, my name is Shin---WHOA no, don’t fall off again! Argh, come on!” As it became obvious quite soon, Shinme wasn’t only a complete noob when it came to fighting games, but he was also the kind of player to enthusiastically shout at the game and his own character while playing. But still, he lost, and at the end of the match he groaned like a kid who got, well, completely obliterated at a game. “Aaawwww okay, next rounds, let’s do it again!” Maybe he could learn if he tried for long enough, was what he thought. After all, he was the kind of person who learned more from experience. He wasn’t about to give up after the first loss, but that also didn’t meant he would not be insufferable about it.
“My name is Shinme, what’s yours?” he said again, this time not interrupted by his own yelling while they were still between matches.

Eli watched as Shinme's eyes became glued on the two guitars. His roommates bass still sat on the floor, images of the two of them playing with Miku and Chimera fluttered through his mind. He let out a sigh, "That bass was my roommates, he left a lot of shit here honestly. I just don't have the heart to get rid of it." Eli explained, what reason did Darren have for leaving? He used to rely on the boy to keep his training up to par, hell Eli would even take a round of slice the tennis ball if it meant he'd be back. Thinking back on it, there were a lot of people who weren't here anymore. His thoughts were interrupted by Shinme speaking once more though.
"Well, closer to three really, I'm a third year after all." He then asked what kind of training Eli had gone through and Eli had the perfect response. "It was hell. My roommate was the Martial Arts club president, and seeing as how I used to be lazy he would make me get off my lazy ass and go train every day of the week. I don't know how I found time to do everything else. I guess when you need to it's easy to do. Trust me though, it was worth every minute." Eli finished, hopefully his words would prove useful for Shinme in his coming years. After all, Eli himself wouldn't be here much longer.
The boy mentioned that Darren had left without even contacting Eli, and while that wasn't entirely true Eli had kept that to himself and it would remain that way. Some secrets were better left unsaid. "Nah it definitely is odd. I don't know though maybe he went to visit family or something..." He hated lying, but for Darren's sake he would did it. No questions asked.
Finally Eli and the boy started playing the game and the mood of Eli's room changed completely. Games were of course, his escape. Naturally Eli loved Toon Link, specifically the dark variant of his costume. Of course, this was one of his favorite characters, so he couldn't let Shinme outclass him while he played him. The boy simply mashed buttons while Eli went full gamer mode. He randomly shouted, "Ha." or "Good try!" as the matches went on. Of course, Eli won and Shinme requested for them to do another match. Eli naturally chose a different character, opting for the green boxer himself this time. Yea his recovery abilities weren't great, but he had massive power. Shinme didn't stand a chance. Once Shinme had confirmed his character again, Eli would start the game. Only then would he realize Shinme hadn't introduced himself, and neither had he. After he spoke, the match would start. "Ah sorry I thought I'd already introduced myself, names Eli. Now you ready to get demolished again?"
