Jyu is a easy-going fellow who enjoys taking life one moment at a time. He's a very spontaneous individual who would rather do something at a whim's notice rather than plan in advance. In his everyday life Jyu can often be seen as a happy go-lucky go with the flow guy. Often times he doesn't take offense to a lot of what individuals say, and he typically tends to mind his business. He enjoys being around friends, and nothing excited him more than the opportunity to compete with someone. He has a very High motor and High work ethic, so usually he spends a lot of his free time burning the excess energy he runs around with.
In battle Jyu is much more different. Since he is a very Happy Go-lucky guy, he isn't one who gets particularly stress in battle. Rather he embraces it and this is where he believes he is having the most fun. In close battles often times you'll see a happiness in his face, because nothing is better for him than being in a good battle where the outcome is not pre-determined. One of the biggest things is however he is extremely competitive. Jyu wants to win, and nothing is worse for him than losing. Though he will take a loss in good stride, internally he will be depressed about a loss. His competitive nature pushes him to be better, but also can damage his confidence when he takes too many loses in a short period of time. Because he is so competitive, that means he believes that any advantage in a battle is fair. This means he's not afraid to do dishonorable things to win a battle, nor does he take shame in doing them. No one should one put it past him to not fight dirty.
Overall Jyu is a guy who will look out for his friends and believes that friends are something in life one much cherish. He will bend over backwards for his friend. He is someone who is very loyal to those who he considers as friends. All in all Jyu is a pretty simple guy who's hoping to make friends and rivals at his time in UA.

HISTORY
Jyu was born to a simple average family. Though many origin stories bring tragedies along with them, for the most part Jyu had quite a normal up bringing. His Father was a retired hero, who married his mom who had a wind quirk. His Father spent much of his days as a side-kick and never really amounted to much more than that. His Quirk was never one of those transcendent ones that made people "ooo" and "ahh" at the site of it. It was something that was great at supporting those who had more powerful quirks though. Jyu was born, however his Father retired. Together with his mom they established a grocery store. They own the building of the store, and therefore Jyu lived above the store for his whole life. His father and mother were a dynamic duo who ran it. It was in the city so it exposed Jyu to rural life relatively early on .
What was always entertaining for Jyu's parents was watching their son grow. When his quirk first manifested around the age of 3 they were ecstatic. Though his mom wasn't so happy because she was zapped while giving him a bath. At first she was disappointed that his quirk only manifested from his father, but about a week later she would see him crying because his toy's kept running away from him. It didn't take long before she realized that he had manifested her wind quirk and was pushing away the toys when he was trying to get them. For much of his life, his parents watched him grow but part of them did not want him to take on the life of a Hero. Jyu's dad had already done it, and they knew the risk that came with it.
Therefore they sent him to normal school, and were really strict about prohibiting quirk use, even at home. In his school life Jyu joined the Martial Arts club and picked up swimming seemed to flourish, but much of his other classes he did well in originally. But as he got older his grades continue to plummet. His professors were always baffled because he was never a kid who would cause problems, they simply stated he wasn't interested in his work. However courses with physical exercises he excelled in. He also excelled in the Martial Arts club, and even though they never were invited to a swim meet, they heard he often came home with detailed stories about winning his swim meets. Miraculously these swim meets would often times be the days where his parents were most busy at the store, so they never made one. However, the more his parents watch, the more they realized Jyu's interest was to be a hero.
Everyday he would watch the news to see the Hero's, and would often watch shows about Heroes. After much saving and consideration his Parents had finally allowed him to try out for UA. They were sure he was going to fail. He had never practiced his quirk, so how could he pass? When evaluated Jyu passed with flying colors, and his parents were in awe wondering how could a kid who has never practice his quirks pass? However, all those days at "swim" were really das Jyu would go into a abandon warehouse and practice his quirk for hours on end.
Though his parents weren't the most thrilled on being lied to for years about Swim meets, a deal was a deal. They allowed Jyu to enroll into UA. So now as Jyu stands in front of the doors, he knows that today is the start of forever.
