The scent of precious lavender incense permeated the air inside Jasmine's dorm room, only a small ray of the gradually setting sun's shine escaping through the gap in the blinds. The low and quiet hum of a small subwoofer gently vibrated along aquamarine walls, a cacophony of lo-fi beats, while calming, enough to make the loose handle on her room's window creak in protest after each bounce. It would have been an otherwise nice setting had it not been for the growling stomach of one Jasmine Noir, lying in bet with nothing but a pair of sweatpants on.
A soft whimper of a groan left the two-tone haired lass as she lay flat on her stomach, arms spread out to either edge of her bed while her cheek was flat against her pillow. The tall girl's toes curled as though in protest, her body trying its best to force herself out the sheets but finding absolutely zero energy to do so. It hadn't taken more than a few extra growls for her brows to furrow, blackened eyelids opening to reveal a set of tired and irritated azure orbs.
"Christ, what time is it...?" she wondered aloud, tiredly glancing towards the clock above her desk. The fact that it was still only six P.M. forced a defeated groan out of her, head falling back onto her pillow in defeat.
Staring at nothing in particular, Jasmine couldn't help but berate herself for getting into this stupid situation. Ever since Rowan hung up her proverbial cape and skipped town with little to no notice to help her parents out with her hotel chain Jasmine had buried herself in her studies and work. Her already erratic sleeping schedule which she'd been working on fixing had plummeted even further down, seeming practically non existent at this point. Even her body seemed to be be slowly shutting down, much to the female's dismay.
After everything that happened with Rin Jasmine honestly thought she'd be able to take this a little better than she had and yet the sudden news had brought on an onset of feelings she frankly could've done without. In what little time she did spend with Lady Fierce, Jasmine had made it a point to give all of herself to her newfound cause of would-be love. That's what people wanted her to do, right? Open herself up. Act her age. Become more like your normal everyday nineteen-year-old.
"Fat load of good that did me," she scoffed quietly, her voice laced with weak venom.
In hindsight one would've thought Jasmine would've been prepared for any type of disappointment that followed and for all intents and purposes she had been... for everything that wasn't cold abandonment. It... hurt. Far more than she thought it had any right to.
A soft sigh escaped the musician as she begun feeling her back burn again, being reminded of the physical reason as to why her whole body ached. One look at the exposed behind of her torso exposed the peculiar culprit given Jasmine's circumstances, fierce yet otherwise pristine in its splendor. After all of the procedures she'd underwent back in New York she hadn't expected to be getting any new tattoos at all... yet there she was, suffering the wrath of the post-tattoo hangover which for whatever reason hit her harder than even one of Muramasa's punches.
The long body of a traditional Japanese horned dragon wrapped around her frame, its scales shrouded in the same azure which filled the girl's eyes. With its sharp tooth-filled maw open it roared viciously, exhaling a torrent of snow white flames that came in waves which curled into clouds.
Blue and white covered nearly the entirety of her torso, going from her neck, down her spine, her sides and to her lower back... around her left shoulder and her right bicep... it was a lot, but honestly Jasmine had been quite proud of herself for coming up with the design. Yet she couldn't help but laugh at how moronic she was for getting so wrapped up in the excitement she'd forgotten how hard the tattoo process hit her, making her feel like a disaster victim every single damn time she got ink on her skin.
What was even more troubling -- and idiotic, depending on how you looked at it -- was that Jasmine had spent nearly her entire savings on the damn thing. She should've known that nobody who she used to know back during her first year was still working at that tattoo parlor, which in turn meant no ex-employee discount. The fact that she was even able to pay for the amount of ink she had was surprising in and of itself. The unfortunate part was that she hadn't stocked up on food before going there, which meant...
Her fridge was empty. Not that she would've had any energy to go buy food to begin with. The shortage of money, though, meant that she couldn't even order in and while normally she could probably go a day or two without eating her already exhausted body was outright demanding sustenance by now.
With Rowan gone, Jasmine had damn near nobody to turn to. Mia was out on patrols which Jasmine had requested a day off from and beyond that she really didn't want to bother random people with her own little dilemma, which left only...
She sighed to herself, "Way to go, Jaz. She sure as shit won't think I'm a moron and get worried," Jasmine complained to herself, her voice sounding damn near bitter. A defeated hand sheepishly reached for the cellphone on her nightstand, slim fingers wrapping around the small device to bring it in front of her eyes.
Finding Yumi's number, Jasmine quickly opened the direct messaging app. The mere thought of actually typing her message made her want to shove a machete down her her own throat so, instead, she chose to press her finger against the microphone icon.
"Hey, weird request, but I uh... I need some help? Could you, uh, if you're not busy, come over and bring something to eat over to my room in the dorms? I'm kind of... bedridden, for lack of a better term, and-" she bit her lip, already hating the next words to come out of her mouth, "-...sort of too broke to order anything..."
She knew Yumi wouldn't say no, even if she was busy and she hated feeling like she was using her.
"My key's under the mat, just let yourself in. I'll uhh... probably be asleep..." and as though to emphasize that last statement, her body decided to do just that - knock her out cold. Jasmine barely even managed to send the rest of her message before her resistances failed and her eyelids slid closed, her phone falling to the bed as she was taken in by sandman and his goons...

“Nnghmm…!”
Stretching her arms up over her head after the end of a long day, Yumi had a combination of some early patrols with Umeboshi and some stiff modelling work with Asta to follow after that. While the modelling work didn’t look too physically intensive, it at least meant she hadn’t had a proper chance to sit down and relax since this morning. Nothing toooo grand to complain about for a girl like her, but she was still happy to see her couch, falling backwards over the arm and bouncing in the soft cushions for a moment, a hand instinctively reaching over to the moist makeup wipes she had and pulling it over to her face, wiping away some of the denser layers of makeup they hadn’t removed before she left the studio. Aaah… her skin could fucking breathe again…
Rubbing out the deeper shadow around her eyes, she heard her phone buzz, fishing it out of her inner jacket pocket and pulling it up above her face, her hand still idly working across her face with wipes. She’d have to do it properly with a mirror in a moment or so but for now at least it was doing her a tonne of favors just to feel the weight off her skin.
Huh… voice message? Maybe she was gonna try and embaress Yumi with another song or something. She shook her head chuckling, and hit play, taking in what the message was.
Her brow rose slowly as she listened to it, the hand working the makeup off her face slowing a little too… she couldn’t help but chuckle a bit, but a little more empathetic, just knowing it probably killed Jaz a little to send a message like that. Aw, poor thing…~
Fixing herself up over the next 5 minutes, Yumi didn’t bother what could be a napping Jasmine with a response, fixing up her face a bit more, just making sure she had like, the more natural but still SOME effort look she more typically had rather than the ‘dolled up for the camera’ look she had a few moments ago. It looked nice when you had the right camera angle sure, but she preferred something a little simpler for her everyday look. From the sound of Jaz, she wasn’t exactly being asked over for a date or anything, she sounded exhausted. Buuuut…. Well, can still make an effort for one of her favorite girls.
Fixing up her outfit and her hair a light bit, she hopped out of the apartment building in jeans, a leather jacket, and a top that matched her hair color, the fabric looking a little thicker even as it hugged her figure, seeming to be some fashionable type of thermal material.. A quick train ride to musutafu and she was making sure there was gonna be a pizza waiting for her at the school gate, but with 30 minutes to kill? She may as well make sure Jaz wouldn’t NEED her help again any time soon, even if she didn’t mind the excuse to come over.
When she hit some of the mom and pop grocery stores the selection was minimal but she wasn’t too sure on Jaz’s eating habits anyway, and besides, if something was leaving her exhausted, she doubted she’d mind some easy stuff. Yumi through some proper things in there of course, some apples and bannanas for healthy snacks, some ingrediants for sphagetti or a more full meal… but mostly the two shopping bags she left with were filled with microwave burgers, mini pizzas, and other stuff you could just slap in something hot for 3 minutes and eat. Plus a tub of ice cream or two cooling eachother at the bottom incase she was up to desert. If not Yumi would just have some tasty desert all to herself.~
Meeting the pizza guy at the school gate, she handed over the cash. He seemed to already be a little stunned that he was dropping off Pizza to UA, but when he seemed to recognize Yumi, the red head held a prideful smirk watching him immediately start dialing someone as he left, probably bragging to a friend or something. With the pizza in hand and the shipping bags, it was some awkward finagling to get inside Jaz’s dorm, a tint of red on her cheeks when she saw the state Jaz was in… and the surprising fresh ink on her body. She remembered she’d had some tattoos before she left, came back clean of them and.. well, Yumi may not have been a fan of tattoos for herself, but she was glad they were back…~
Putting the shopping bags down and fishing out a bottle of coke for the two of them, she sat beside the bed, and lifted a slice up to the edge of the bed, smirking as she chimed out. “Wakey wakey sleepy dragon…~”

Jasmine's frame lay still atop the covers of her bed, chest rising and falling slowly with each warm and gentle breath she took, followed by faint snoring. Tired eyes closed shut and soft lips slightly parted, her body, mind and soul felt like screaming out their thanks into the heavens for the little bit of dreamless reprieve she'd managed to find. The normally wild and highly alert student seemed incredibly vulnerable in her current state, so exhausted it looked like her body had decided to utterly shut down. Senses dulled, fangs chipped, claws blunted... if she'd been a proud lioness at some point now she'd likely be compared to a newborn cub.
Her normally omnipresent hyper-awareness was nowhere to be found as not a single part of her body chose to react to the sound of the lock on the door turning. It was almost like every cell in her being refused to adhere to their programming, instead deciding to finally protest against the abuse Jasmine consistently put herself through. Although if there was one thing her body did react to it was the fresh, heavy scent of spicy pepperoni and cheese assaulting her nostrils. Her tummy growled in needy protest, roused by the delicious smell of the pizza her beautiful guest had brought. It felt like her stomach had started to churn with how utterly famished she was, forcing a quiet groan out of the teenager, small wrinkles peppering her forehead as her brows furrowed.
...wakey wakey sleepy dragon...
A quiet grumble escaped her, her ears twitching at the sound of Yumi's voice. Her legs and arms stretched, aching body shaking a little as the powerful scent overtook her senses, erecting a greedy moan out of her. Tired eyes slid half-way open, revealing a set of dazed azure pearls looking around with mild confusion. A small smile immediately overtook her at the sight of long crimson tresses before Jasmine buried her face into her pillow, half embarrassed about the state she'd let herself be seen in, half trying to wake herself up to be able to enjoy the food Yumi brought that much quicker.
Jasmine finally met Yumi's gaze, "Hi, love. Wouldn't mind waking up to you a little more often," she greeted warmly, some rasp still very much evident in her voice. Her gaze had immediately set on the pizza and the only two things keeping her form devouring the slice right out of the girl's hands had been the somewhat present self-awareness in regards to her clothing situation, and the fact that manners definitely ought to have been a thing when having a guest over.
Reaching out to the edge of the bed, Jasmine's fingers wrapped around a loose black crop top which she quickly slipped into to maintain some form of decency. She sat up with her legs crossed, hands rubbing tired eyes before exhaling a long and vocal yawn. She shook her head before refocusing on the redhead, a goofy smile on her face. One hand took the offered slice, the other seized Yumi's hand.
She brought it up to her face and placed a few affectionate kisses against her knuckles, "My hero."
Without wasting a single moment Jasmine let her teeth sink into the offered nourishment. A shade of pink immediately tinted her cheeks as a satisfied moan left her, "Christ, I was so hungry..." she said with her mouth full, evidently having forgotten about manners after all. She scarfed it down in what seemed to be only four bites, licking the sauces off her digits moments later to really savor the taste.
"Best pizza I've ever had. Hands down," she said, grinning. "You're a lifesaver, red."
Jasmine scooted over towards the edge of the bed, hand reaching for the coke which she quickly uncorked. The bottle touched her lips as the liquid flowed, the bubbles immediately irritated her throat... not that Jasmine seemed to care about that much given the size of the gulps she'd taken. She covered her mouth with a hand as a burp escaped her, head turning to the opposite side from Yumi to exhale what was possibly quite a foul stench.
"You hungry? Let's eat!" she exclaimed, suddenly having found some of her energy having returned.

Greeting Jasmine with a warm smile as she so groggily joined the waking world, a soft chuckle escaped her lips as she clearly seemed a little embaressed to be caught like this, the usual proud and confident Jasmine laying down like a little lion cub, but even as she chuckled and had her own mental picture taken so she could tease Jaz about this some day, she definitely wasn’t gonna give her a rough time for it right now, not while she was in this state… though some light teasing definitely couldn’t be resisted.
“Damn, Rowan let you talk to girls like that?~” She’d tease with a smirk. After all Jasmine made it a point that when she was with a girl, they were hers and she was theirs, Seemed like an easy enough thing to tease her about without being too much of a bother. She tended to be so proudly monogamous, and while Yumi could definitely respect that more these days, she still got the easy chance to jab her when she laid a flirty comment like that on her, intentional or not. The brief flash Yumi got of bare chested Jasmine as she tried to get dressed though did earn a gentle whistle, not wanting to make her awakening too sharp. “Dayum though… I can definitely say I don’t mind the view much either.~” She smirked wide, sticking her tongue out between her teeth with that cheeky near-grin. “Come on, Pizza’s gettin’-“
With her free hand taken and her knuckles kissed, Yumi swiftly hushed up at the rather affectionate action, pretty sure Jaz probably just did it to fluster her, and quickly trying to push her hand holding the slice closer to her face. “Oh just… shut up and eat muscles…” She turned her face away as her cheeks burned red for a moment, leaning her elbows on the edge of the bed, glancing back as Jasmine enjoyed herself.
It was at least a nice reward seeing her enjoy the pizza so much, smirking a little as she reached the end- “Cheese stuffed crusts, if you’re a fan.” She shrugged. “If not you can just leave them for-“ Aaaand it was gone. Heh, guess she was really hungry huh…?~
Taking a slice herself, Yumi turned her back to the edge of the bed, stretching out her legs along the floor and enjoying a slice a little more slowly herself, slurping a strand of melted cheese up when it hung between her lips and the slice itself, flashing Jasmine a cheeky smile as she seemed to wake up more and more with each passing second. “’On’t Munshyan it.~” She swallowed, flashing a cheeky grin after her attempted full mouth response.
Smirking as Jasmine definitely seemed to get some of her energy back, Yumi lifted the pizza box to the bed between them, still sitting on the floor and reaching for slices from there. While she wasn’t as starving as Jasmine, it had been a long day and she was happy to get some greasy food in her. Thanks to her quirk she could maintain a thicker, greasier diet, buuuut because most models couldn’t, all the food at shoots was crappy watermelon slices or shit fruits and diet biscuits and blegh. She was glad to get some good tasting food in her. “Schmo-“ She began, swallowing before gesturing to her back. “I take it that’s fresh and not just some artistic red highlighting?” Yumi had been tempted by tattoos now and then in the past, she even tried to get one once, but that was back before UA and the friend she convinced to try got an electric shock through the tattoo pen. She’d never really been confident enough to try since, plus, didn’t do well for a model to have any of those in Japan.

If Jasmine hadn't been fully cognizant just yet Yumi's comment surely woke her up. Her eyes widened a tad and a sharp inhale of air followed... which with a full mouth of food wasn't exactly a comfortable position to be in. The girl's eyes widened even more as she choked on her food, her fist moving to her lips as a coughing fit attacked her with the force of a freight train, causing her to almost double over as she felt her chest and throat burn.
"H-holy... shit..." Jasmine cursed under her ragged breath, a last few coughs leaving her. That... wasn't exactly something she'd been expecting to hear. Not that she could blame the redhead. Jasmine wasn't exactly what somebody would call open with her private life. Whatever happened between herself and Rowan was wrapped tight with fifty feed of metallic fiber, never to be known to the world at large. She preferred it that way. Fewer questions. Less pity. After Rowan left or so a week ago, Jasmine had found herself in a strange position both mentally and physically. The feelings of hurt and confusion came to mind almost immediately, but at the same time she was... fine? It hadn't been like it was with Rin - her world didn't feel like it was pulled like a rug from under her feet. She'd chosen to turn to her work to keep her mind off of things -- which was partly the reason for her massive onset of exhaustion in the first place.
"I'm aight, I'm aight," she said, waving a sheepish hand as she reached for the coke to wash the food down a little easier. "Got a little overeager with the food there."
She'd leave the comment unanswered for now. No point in ruining the mood just yet.
The pretty color of red which spread across Yumi's cheeks hadn't gone unnoticed by Jasmine, though she decided not to tease the girl about it... for now. Instead she simply enjoyed the view, smirking to herself coyly. Thinking back on it, the two of them probably haven't had a one on one like this since that one weekend she spent at Yumi's place before she'd gotten together with Rowan. Jasmine would be lying if she said she didn't think back on those three days together fondly from time to time, especially during the last week or so. The temptation to reach out to the redhead when her breakup made her loneliness spike and her mental plummet as a result was hard to say no to. She knew that Yumi had a girlfriend -- she'd met her during the hot springs -- and even though every single fiber in Jasmine's body shouted at her to not try anything with Yumi because of her own beliefs, she couldn't help but consider the chance given that Yumi herself was polyamorous and Kai was likely okay with it.
Knowing Jasmine likely wouldn't have forgiven herself had she actually reached out, she eventually against it. It wouldn't have been right, neither towards Yumi nor herself... and especially not towards Kai. Heck, even Rowan probably wouldn't have felt so thrilled about Jasmine getting a rebound, as much as her opinion had any relevance to the matter anyway.
Not that her breakup with Rowan was a bad one, it was just... How I deal with my issues is my business, right? she thought to herself, suppressing a sigh.
She wanted to punch herself for the dumb back and forth that kept coming up in her thoughts.
"Cheese stuffed crusts," Jasmine echoed the redhead after having taken up another slice, observing said crusts curiously. "Think this is gonna have to be my new favorite," she said through a grin before taking another bite... this time a little more carefully as she kept her own thoughts at bay. Which, admittedly, had been made way easier by how goofy Yumi was. She snickered to herself, gently poking the girl's cheek with her index finger after having deciphered what her full mouth language was, "You're adorable, y'know that?"
The next few moments between them had been shared in silence, the two girls doing nothing much other than enjoying the pepperoni pizza. Jasmine couldn't tell you whether it was because she hadn't eaten properly in a while or what but this damn round pad had stuffing for days and she swore it was the best dish she'd had in her life, as much of an overexaggeration as that was. Honestly there was just something about being treated to food that made it all the more delectable.
She blinked curiously when her thoughts were interrupted by Yumi's question, glancing at the girl. "Wha- oh," she cut herself off, quickly realizing what Yumi meant. Yeah, of course she'd seen that, what with me having been half naked when she came in... she thought to herself, slightly embarrassed. "Yeah I uh... got it done today, actually. Didn't think I was going to get any new tattoos after I got rid of the last ones but, well... given recent events I figured it was appropriate. Y'know, a change of pace. A change of direction. Whatever," she snorted. "Guess I just needed the wake up call." Jasmine fixed the strap of her top, feeling it chafe a little bit against the ink on her shoulder. She turned towards the redhead, "What do you think?" she asked, a small smile on her face. "Look good?"

Yumi’s eyes widened with some alarm as Jasmine seemed to be choking. While perhaps far from proper hero training she found her instincts telling her to slap Jasmine hard on the back, even pushing up against the bed and about to rear up a hand behind her before the red edges of the tattoo reminded her that was probably a very bad idea, even if it had been the correct procedure. Her face went red and pale at the same time somehow, her hands just sort of hovering, unsure what to do until Jasmine seemed able to breathe again, sighing in relief, more than a little embaressed she wasn’t able to process the right move there, not wanting to aggravate Jaz’s back.
“S-sorry…” She mumbled with a light chuckle, hopefully showing she wasn’t beating herself up too bad for that as she eased back to the floor, a nervous smile easing into a genuine one as they kept talking. “Guess I shouldn’t tease you monogamous types unless I want you to choke out, hehehe…~”
Nodding along with an enthusiastic hum to the confirmation of the cheesey crusts, she let out a chuckle at her declaring it to be her new favorite. “I mean you can get it on any pizza really if you order from the right place, but if it interests you I’ve seen some places that do spiced cheeses in the cursts, or even some that do er…” She tried to think for a moment, pressing a finger to her chin as she recalled. “I think it was hot dogs? Like just one long hot dog sausage circling through the entire crust. It was pretty cool but I never got to try it. I think it was too much effort cause I havn’t seen a place that does it for a while buuuut…” She shrugged and smirked. “This is japan, you look hard enough you can find someplace doing any weird food you want.” She stuck her tongue out, chuckling through her teeth.
“Also, yes, totally aware of the adorable thing, but that’s ‘ultra queen big cutie of the universe’ to you.~” She teased, flicking her ponytail back, lifting her chin like royalty before bursting into chuckles and taking another bite of pizza.
Yumi didn’t at all mind the time they spent in silence, resting her back into the side of the bed and just enjoying getting some food down her own throat. She probably would have ordered something similar anyway, admittedly too lazy to cook for herself a lot of the time, but being with Jaz gave her the excuse to splurge on something a little tastier and filling than she may have otherwise allowed herself to indulge in.
When the silence did break thanks to her question she didn’t mind either of course, quirking her brow about how Jaz decided the tattoos would be a change of pace… if she remembered right she had a dragon tattoo last time too, but even if her visual memory was better than her verbal memory… she still wasn’t too sure. “Huh… I mean, I don’t really ‘get’ the connections people can have to tattoos, but it does definitely suit you. Nice strong image for a nice strong gal.~” She offered with a wink, leaning back.
“I once tried to get a tattoo, buuuut it wasn’t exactly legal for me to do at the time, age wise ignoring any yakuza stuff-“ She flippantly brushed the train of thought aside. “Anyway, I just kinda thought some anima characters with cool tattoos looked… well, cool, but the moment my friend took the tattoo pen to me I gave them an electric shock. Wasn’t too bad till the thing itself caught fire like 5 seconds later.” She shrugged and chuckled. “Suffice to say, even with my quirk under control now, it kinda soured me on the idea. Pluuuus I kinda grew out of it anyway. I mean I can barely decided on an outfit some-days, I can’t imagine having to commit to a whole new thing on my skin.” She didn’t mean to be a downer on the idea of tattoos by any means, but it definitely wasn’t something she easily connected with herself. Power to Jaz though, it did look good on her.

Between her coughing fit and slamming the side into her chest in an attempt to catch her breath, Jasmine couldn't help the short guffaw that left her lips at the comment. She glanced at Yumi meekly, a tear pooling in the corner of her eye at the sudden sharpness in her throat, "I'm pretty sure there's an innuendo somewhere in there," she commented somewhat dryly, yet the amusement was clear in her strained facial features.
Jasmine exhaled a soft breath once her windpipe was clear and she was able to inhale oxygen again, feeling herself level with the ground and find her balance. Normally she would've probably taken a pause from eating but judging by the needy growl of her stomach... yeah, that wasn't happening. Two minutes hadn't even passed before the musician swiped another slice from the pizza box after having washed whatever little pieces of food were still clogging her throat with coke, the fizzy bubbles working their magic to dispel any kind of haze she might've gone under as a result.
Eyebrows rising with curiosity and excitement, the two-tone haired lass stared at Yumi as though she'd grown a second head. "Spiced?" she asked. A true fan of anything and everything spice, it was probably no secret to anybody who's had dinner or lunch with the third year that she always, always put far too many spices on the food she cooked. She was considerate of others, of course, and whenever she was preparing a meal for other people she'd be able to distinguish what was acceptable and what wasn't... but food she made to eat for herself? Oh yeah, usually those meals were very literal magma.
"I mean, true... but you can't say Japan's food ain't great. Spicy ramen? Heaven," Jasmine said, salivating at the mere thought of hopping up to her favorite ramen stall in Tokyo. It wasn't fancy. It wasn't too popular. But it was sure as shit cozy and really goddamn delicious. "There's uh... a place in Tokyo I go to. I should take you there sometime. Best spicy ramen in the city, hands down."
"Oooookay there ultra queen big cutie of the universe," Jasmine said with a titter, clearly quite amused by the self-bestowed title. "We're gonna have to get you one of those ribbons they wear at like Miss Universe contests or whatever with those exact words etched on it. Imagine wearing that at graduation. You'd never live it down... not like Imma let you anyway," the third year teased, winking and slipping her tongue out as she did so.
"Hmm," Jasmine nodded to Yumi's statement, humming in thought. "Not many people do. Well, rather... a lot of people say they do but then go around getting Japanese or Chinese letters they don't even know the meaning of on their body. Like... I'm not judging, but uh... whoever said you can't call something stupid was fuckin' stupid," she snorted. "It's kind of... well, the way I see it, your body is your canvas and your tattoos are your story, y'know? For me, my tattoos have always been about something I believed in or something I've lived through. Things that I want to remember for the rest of my life and be able to proudly show through my own expression of art... well, until I decided to remove all of them. But that's a story for another time."
She stopped herself when she finally realized she'd been talking a little too much. "Sorry, rambling. Not often I get to talk about this type of stuff," Jasmine admitted. One of the few things she still enjoyed. It was difficult to keep her mouth shut about it sometimes.
At the mention of Yakuza realization hit Jasmine so hard she paled. "Oh, fuck. No more hot springs in Japan." She paused. "Fuuuuck."
In what was probably going to be a little surprising for the redhead, the musician hadn't laughed at her story. Having been a tattoo artist herself, she was well aware of the many things that could happen when applying ink to different kinds of people from an even larger range of backgrounds. Quirks just made that worse. Preparation, for any tattoo artist, was key, and it wasn't only with the art anymore.
"Aaaah, yeah..." Jasmine chuckled, "Actually had something similar happen to me when I was working a tattoo shop. Dude lacked glucose and started getting all dizzy on me while I was inking his stomach. Lost control of his quirk and liquefied. Just... turned into a fuckin' puddle on my floor," she snorted at the memory. "Best part was the ink hadn't sunken in yet so when he took liquid form it kind of... spread around everywhere? Guy turned back to normal and had ink smudges all over. Not exactly what I'd call a fun day. Funny. But not fun."
"Weeeeeeeeeeeell..." the third-year hummed, a thoughtful expression on her face as she munched on pizza. "If you'd like, I can maybe 'tattoo' some stuff on you with a sharpie? See how it'd look on you? Sure it wouldn't look exactly like it would in tattoo form but it's close enough. Not that uncommon too. Had a few requests like that from people in the past with the same issues. Y'know. Not knowing if they'd be able to commit like that."
"Speaking of commitment -- perfect segue, I know -- like, I really am thankful for the pick me up. Shit probably actually saved my life, but, uh... hope Kai's not gonna get angry with me for stealing you from her for a lil while? How are you two, by the way?"

Yumi’s nerves were eased a little as she let out a scoff at her innuendo comment, shaking her head and chuckling in disbelief, she was careful not to give her a pat on the back as much as her instincts requested otherwise, instead just giving the edge of her elbow a little jab with her knuckles before settling down again, not about to go for her shoulder incase agitating that set off some of the tattoos that got higher up her shoulder blades. “Ya perv.” She teased back, clearly not with any ill intent of course.
Her brow quirked up from her own food as Jasmine asked about the spiced cheese, nodding along gently and swallowing back a mouthful of pizza, but with some chunks of cheese feeling like they’d caught on her teeth she still covered her mouth when she made an attempt to talk. “Yeah I don’t know where does it anymore but it’s like this special spicey cheese. I think some places might do it on the pizza itself but I’ve only ever seen it in a stuffed crust commercial.” As much as Yumi could enjoy spicey stuff herself it was necessarily something she sought out. Once her dad brought back salt and pepper spices from a market, like you get on chicken, and she put it on… fucking everything till they ran out, but beyond that, she didn’t tend to taste particular flavors, or spicey food, it was just nice if it was on the menu. “Maybe we can google if anywhere still does it once we’ve eaten?” It did seem to get her attention afterall.
The talk about Ramen suddenly gave her a craving for it even with pizza bits in her teeth, humming softly as she tipped her head back. She’d been trying to do better with eating lately, even still having the fact her quirk energy usage helped her stay fit regardless, but even dieting a little, or heck, reducing her diet to a normal person left her missing the tastes of a few things she might have otherwise thrown into her usual weekly food. “That does sound good… you should.~” She offered back with a smile.
A snicker flowed out of her as Jasmine teased her back, rolling her eyes. “As good as I think I’d look in a sash… you’re definitely gonna make me regret that, huh?” She flashed a final cheeky smile, shaking her head with a chuckle. “Well it’s better than yumuscles at least…~” It was probably about just as bad honestly, but a part of her was trying to bait Jasmine into sticking with the devil she knew. Yumi listened along as Jasmine talked about tattoos, clearly a topic she was passionate about. Though as she talked about them telling a story, Yumi’s lack of an artist’s eye was coming through as she couldn’t help but make a joke, idly pointing in the direction of Jasmine’s back. “Ya know I didn’t think you’d fought Jack enough for it to earn full placement on your back.~” She teased, sticking her tongue out idly with a light chuckle behind her cheek. “Though seriously, I don’t mind hearing what it means to ya, if you don’t mind sharing.” She offered a calmer, sweet smile, genuine intrigue to hear the ‘story’ behind it on her face.
She did definitely chuckle again though when Jaz realized she’d be banned from hot springs now. “Aaaah don’t worry. Some places offer private pools. I mean, you’ll have to pay extra, but its not like you got permabanned from everything ya know.~ Oh!~” She piped up thinking. “I can lend you my gym card sometime! The place has a hot spring on venue. It’s er… kinda exclusive. Only reason I have a card is cause I’m a model and one of the other girls had to like, sponsor me or something-“ She waved that off to add more importantly. “They barely look at faces though. You walk in there with a face mask or something and you’ll make it all the way to the hot spring just by swiping the card.” Probably wouldn’t be that easy for everyone but… eh. Yumi genuine believed Jasmine could pass for a model…~
Her ‘generous offer’ quickly turned to a hideous little snort at the talk of one of Jasmine’s old tattoo clients, Yumi almost worried she’d have cheese coming out of her nose. Not seriously of course but that’s how bad she snorted with a full mouth, needing her own moment not to choke but definitely not as painful or lethargic as Jasmine was a moment ago, bursting through it with some sound chuckles. “awwww!~ Poor guy-hehehe!~ Did he… did he have to get tattoo removal or something to fix it? O-or did you just have to run him through some filter paper ehehehe!~” She shouldn’t laugh, but it was definitely a funny story.
She shook her head a little at the offer of a tattoo as she started to calm down. “Not really for me… I mean, maybe once? Just to see how it looks. It’s a little embaressing but I always thought tramp stamps could look really nice when done well but… I definitely don’t think I could ever commit. So if you do it in sharpie, you better do it like, half assed? Can’t have me falling in love with your brilliant work.~” She flashed a sideways glance, teasing but… some genuine praised mixed in with it.
Mid slice of Pizza, Yumi paused at the question of Kai, a soft smile forming on her lips, chewing away at her own pace though certainly not keeping Jasmine waiting. “My friend Kai is doing just fine.” She didn’t put any special emphasis on the word friend, but it was clear enough she chose her words purposely. “She moved away for a business opportunity with her delivery company. Said we’d keep in touch but she knew she’d get uncomfortable if I was sleeping around and we were still together, sooooo we decided we’d stay friend. Still talk to her every other night but… yeah.~” She shrugged casually, suckling a bit of grease off one of her fingers. “How’s Rowan?”

"Takes one to know one," Jasmine teased back at the perv comment, a sly wink following her words. A soft sigh left her lips as she felt her stomach reaching an ever more sated state after each slice of pizza she utterly devoured without a single shred of decency, licking the sauces and grease off of her fingers after every bite. God this was exactly what she needed and it showed through the color that was slowly returning to her face. Having a quirk which fed and functioned off of the food supply one consumed was both a curse and a blessing in disguise. On one hand it seemed simple to always be at full blast. On the other, it was also far too easy to fall off the proverbial horse if you get sucked in by all of life's nuances... which is what exactly kept happening to our resident Noir lately.
The next few conversations went by in a flash. As per Yumi's suggestion Jasmine made mental notes to look for places still using spicy cheese (she also made an extra note to figure out where to buy the cheese itself, or which spices to use to make it herself... just, y'know, to be able to apply it to her own cooking), she made a massive note to take Yumi out to that ramen place she had just boasted (a ride on my bike too, maybe? Feel like that'd be nice), and so on. She honestly would've just kept quiet but... the comment about Jack? Yeah, that was impossible to ignore.
Jasmine flat out cringed at the concept.
"Why you gotta make me regret getting the tattoo, huh?" She fake whined, puppy dog eyes and a pout on full display. Unfortunately she wasn't able to keep the 'disguise' up for long and ended up sighing and chuckling, "Well, the azure dragon is somewhat representative of freedom. Taking flight, y'know? That's... kind of where I envision my road right now. To put it in 'narrative' terms, I've essentially shed my old skin, my past self... heck maybe just grew out of it. I mean, I'm not exactly the same girl I was a few years ago, or even a few months ago, y'know?" She smiled idly. "My path going forward is anybody's guess. All I know is that I'm free to do what I want and I guess the dragon symbolism is also kind of accurate of who I am... or so I've been told. Wild. Aggressive. Protective. Intelligent. Wise. Not sure the last two fit me but hey, that's what I've been told so I'm going with it."
Eventually Jasmine's shoulders heaved up and down in the form of a shrug, "And, well... I guess I just wanted a change. I've let dark and depressing things weigh me down for far too long. High time I started living my life again, you know?"
Another mental note! She'd definitely be swiping that gym card from time to time. Ever since Yumi took the whole school out to the springs Jasmine had been aching to plan more of that into her exercise routines. Rest periods between workouts were important. A little R&R? Even more so. R&R at a hot spring literally designed to help your muscles relax? Utter heaven.
"Awww," Jasmine practically mewled out, "here I thought I'd get to draw on your bare skin," she couldn't have helped the idle tease even if she tried.
The pause hadn't gone unnoticed, neither did the subtle change in the mood. Friend. There was no emphasis but the implication was there. Oh, Jasmine thought, suddenly feeling incredibly awkward for having asked that question. She straightened herself and listened, nodding along to the explanation. A brow rose. That sound awfully like...
She had to resist the urge to laugh at the irony.
Yumi had asked about Rowan, but Jasmine didn't bother answering just yet. Instead, she focused what energy she regained into her slightly shaking legs. Groaning, Jasmine got on her feet, stumbling a little yet managing to stay upright. Even though she was still a little dizzy from how exhausted she was -- made even worse by her suddenly standing up which got the blood going to her head -- she still stretched to get some of the kinks out, her crop tip rising with the motion to show off the underside of her chest. Without a single word Jasmine went over to the kitchen and dug into her fridge. The sound of glass clanking came from the kitchen area as the third year seemed to be wordlessly fiddling with something.
A couple of minutes later she returned with two glasses, handing one to Yumi. "Here." It was rum with lime, coke and ice. Nothing too fancy. Just a simple cuba libre. Strong, but also delicious, especially when made with the ex-bartender hands Jasmine possessed. "I figure if we're going down the depressing route of both of us suddenly being single, we might as well have a drink, right?"
A somewhat bemused chuckle left Jasmine as she sat back down on her bed, taking a quick sip of her drink and delighting in the taste, "Rowan.... How's Rowan. Hm. Good question, actually. She left the school. Skipped town. Said the hero thing wasn't for her so she'd go work at her parent's hotel chain. We kinda... broke up as a result. She didn't see a future for us, I guess, even though I wanted to try making it work," Jasmine shrugged. "Ah well, it is what it is. I understand her decision, but uh... honestly? I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little mad about it," or hurt, she wanted to say but kept it to herself.
"I'm really sorry to hear about Kai, though," Jasmine added, azure eyes moving to meet Yumi's own amber hues. "You two looked good together. Seemed like you had everything figured out." Despite herself, Jasmine reached out, placing a gentle hand on Yumi's shoulder. Her smile might've been a front. Or it might have been real. Jasmine couldn't tell. But what she knew was that she wanted to be supportive regardless.
"Want to talk about it?"

Yumi chuckled along as the comment about Jack got such an annoyed yet borderline cute reaction, holding a hand over her mouth so she didn’t spit out any chunks of cheese, grinning behind it clearly though and calming as Jasmine more clearly explained what the dragon was meant to represent. She wasn’t exactly the most intelligent when it came to names or symbolism so hearing that about her dragon was a lot of fresh news for her. Afterall she’d only ever really designed her logo, everything else she worked on was cosplays based on the designs of other artists and stuff, so her own eye for symbolism and art… wasn’t the best.
She sometimes still had a bit of regret not coming up with something better than ‘curved lightning’, but for now, it fit well enough.
“I mean, wise and intelligent? You’re still a great student at UA and you’re definitely more street smart than me, I’d say you do pretty well on both counts.” She chimed in with a genuine smile, not about to flatter Jasmine with anything she didn’t genuinely think… ya know, unless the two were flirting of course, and even then it was hard to find fault in the girl. “If this new dragon means freedom, did the old dragon mean anything different?”
She frowned a little at the mention of dark and depressing topics, moreso out of empathy than anything else. Without thinking just reaching along the bed behind her and giving Jaz’s knee a gentle squeeze. “Sorry to hear that Jaz…Hopefully things start lookin’ better yeah?”
The sudden silence after talking about Kai and asking about Rowan left Yumi feeling more than a little nervous. Was she too cavalier talking about Kai? She thought she did well portraying that the two of them had ended on good terms but… she knew she could be rather oblivious with er, normal ways a relationship should go. Had she been too dismissive? Brushed it off too easily? The way she just walked off earning a nervous “Jaz…?” But when she came back and finally spoke, Yumi caught up to what was going on, smiling a little but… hearing Jaz was single too meant the smile was definitely just because of her eased nerves. While it did bring the oddest spark of delight, it was certainly outweighed by knowing that was probably one of the reasons Jaz had been in such a state today.
“Well…” She began, not so sure about the drink, not a usual habit she partook in but… ah what the hell. She was only a teenager for a good 7 years. May as well make use of ‘em. “Ah what the hell…” She took the drink, knocking it back against Jasmine’s before taking a sip. Booze wasn’t typically her drink of choice, she’d kinda missed out on the ‘party girl’ life by joining UA, but she had to admit, this didn’t taste too bad.
Crossing her legs, resting the glass between them, Yumi gave Jaz a whole lot more of her attention somehow as she just quietly let her vent out about the situation. She hadn’t seen Rowan about recently but she hadn’t thought the girl would just flat out have dropped out of the program… damn… “Seems a lot of people are getting cold feet this year… think it has anything to do with the political crap going on a few weeks back? Maybe the anti quirk riots just made ‘em all feel… under appreciated?” She gave a lax shrug. Her hero work was gonna be balanced with her time as a model and, if she was lucky, her time as a teacher, so she didn’t feel like that herself but… maybe that was it?
“Its… definitely okay to be mad about it though. I mean I’ve had more than a few relationships end on terms I don’t agree with so I understand that but… hey. You’re handling it pretty well if the most that comes from it is a bit of binge eating and a light drink.” She took another sip from her glass, she didn’t see herself getting a taste for it but… hey, it wasn’t bad.~
When the topic came back to Kai, she raised a hand to stop Jaz and shook her head. “Don’t even worry about it. She was nice, sweet, a bit… simple, sometimes. But In a good way? After Red I needed somethin’ simple… buuuuut…” She shrugged and let out a long sigh. “It is what it is? I’m not sad. Maybe taught me I move too fast with people even when I try to take it slow but that’s about it… we ended on good terms, and I’m happy we’re staying friends.”
She tipped her head back, a little melancholy but clearly not in a bad mood. “How about you? Need to let anythin’ more out with Rowan? I know I’m not… the best, when it comes to relationship advice but… I got two ears eh?”

As she plopped back down onto her bed, Jasmine couldn't really help the rough breath of a sigh she exhaled. "I... I'm kind of torn about that," she finally voiced out, breaking through the silence of thought. Jasmine leaned forward, her elbows resting on her thighs, the liquid swishing in the glass between her hands. Her eyes stared out into the adjacent wall, seeming somewhat unfocused. "I've always thought that far too many people weren't cut out for this school. For this... life. It just seemed so strange to me that so many kids who entered here didn't seem to give a rat's ass about their studies or training almost as though they're just here to get a pass and graduate for no real reason other than to graduate, completely oblivious to the reality of what was waiting for them after the fact. I still feel like that, to some degree, but..." Jasmine clicked her tongue and ran a hand along her hair, seeming a little irritated with her own jumbled thought processes. "Don't get me wrong. If I'm brutally honest, I'm glad some of them dropped out -- better that than getting injured out in the field... or worse. But I still kinda can't help but feel a little lonely now that so many people left, y'know?"
"I have no idea why they left. Haven't gotten word from anybody... was never really close like that to any of them, y'know? But, well, in Rowan's case... she'd been struggling with a lot of things for quite a while. Guess she just finally hit a wall she didn't think she'd overcome. That or she probably got sick of me. Take your pick," the last part of her sentence was filled with bitter mirth as she took a rather large swig from her glass, downing nearly half of its contents in one go. She felt the pleasant burn of liquid poison flow down her throat, the taste acting quick to momentarily make her body tense up and her senses sharpen.
With the ratio of alcohol to coke that she mixed for herself (roughly four times as much poison as soda) and how tired she was, she only needed a few minutes for the alcohol to kick in and make her tense frame relax, the speedometer on her mind easing from a million thoughts per minute to something more stable for her liking.
"Shoulda known that's the world we the world we live in. I'll risk being insensitive and say that if anybody got cold feet from that they're probably better off having left," Jasmine stated plainly, an absent shrug making her shoulders heave. "Might sound a little... I'unno, mean? But uh... Not sure any of us have earned the right to be appreciated to begin with, especially considering everything that's happened in the past two decades," she added, her azures staring at the lime floating in dark liquid. "I mean sure we've done some good while we've been here but we ain't the ones out there trying to stop the shit that's happening over there. Hell most of us are sheltered and spoiled brats to begin with. Gotta earn our stripes, y'know?"
Jasmine hushed herself after Yumi raised her hand, watching the girl curiously. She hummed to herself, taking Yumi's words in as she gently sipped from her glass. "Glad to hear it," she said, a small smile painting her lightly tired features. "From what I gathered at the springs, Kai's a good girl. I'm happy you two stayed friends despite things not really working out."
"As for me, well..." another hoarse breath. It was hard to tell what Jasmine was feeling. A mix of irritation, bitterness, sadness, guilt... she didn't know herself. Couldn't put a finger on it even if her digits were the size of lamp posts. Her mind swam inside an ocean of incoherence and it was starting to piss her off. She downed what was left of her drink before getting back up on her feet and strolling over to the kitchen.
"Let me know if you need a refill, but uh..." she fished out a bottle from the fridge -- bourbon, store-bought, nothing special... but the label Jim Beam was perfect to mend a broken heart, as Jaeger used to always say. She snorted at the thought. Her heart wasn't even broken. She was just pissed off. "It's just the same old story of wasted effort and fucked up expectations, I guess," the lass explained as she filled her glass, later leaning back with her butt against the, arms crossed. She brought the glass to her lips. The taste was thin. Frankly watered down... until the sour taste of vanilla and corn fermented in oak barrels finally touched her taste buds.
"After everything that happened prior to my return to Japan, I... well, you saw me. I was all shriveled up and closed off. Like I've never been a social butterfly but at that point? Personal connections scared me." Another snort, just as mirthful as the last, "You can't even imagine the fuckin' courage I had to pull out my ass to even get in touch with Mia again and fess up after I'd hit rock bottom. Felt like a stray dog with a tail between her legs and balls too big for her own good. Not going to say Mia surprised me by helping me out -- she's an angel, swear to God -- but if you ask me? I don't think she should have. Not as a hero, just... as a person, y'know? Left her high and dry and all that. Though to be fair that's probably just my own self-criticism talking." She suddenly laughed as another memory piqued her interest. "Hell, even seeing you again was a challenge. With how much shit I'd fucked up in my life at that point I didn't think I had any right to reconnect with anyone."
She took another sip, "Forcing myself to open up again to something new was one of the most difficult things I've done in my whole fuckin' life. Shit, I had to go to therapy for it. Like, don't get me wrong, yeah it was fun while it lasted -- the cute good morning and goodnight texts, hanging out in the dorm watching movies, cuddling, going out on dates, sneaking out to make out somewhere... it was... fun. It definitely helped me recover. Generally speaking I feel better than I ever had before. Hell I even let Rowan dye my fuckin' hair, and I never fuck with my hair, let alone let somebody else do it."
"So while I can't say it wasn't a good time, it's..." Another rough sigh, the realization that it was probably like the hundredth one making her click her tongue in frustration as she glared daggers at the drink in her hand. "What's the point of trying so hard when at the end of the day everything's going to go ass up anyway? That's been like, my whole fucking life in terms of relationships."
A pause. She took a drink. "Don't need to answer that. It's a stupid question anyway. Sorry, hun. Just, uh... needed to vent a little." A sheepish smile.
The alcohol was slowly starting to work its magic.

Yumi... didn't have much more to say on those who had left. She didn't feel she had the right to. If they were just treating this as a course to pass and that just didn't work out for them then fair enough. What didn't let her speak however was a feeling she wasn't as dedicated as someone like Jaz or, heck, even Red at this point. She didn't feel like she put her entire life into the program or anything like that. Something she'd personally come to terms with, sure, if she wanted to live her life, her potential 3 careers, then she couldn't expect to give her all to everything, or she was bound to burn out but...
Well, the most she could say was- "End of the day I can't exactly say much. I mean... model career, wanting to be a teacher? I hardly bet I'm gonna be on the front lines all the time like you, RedHorn... heck, even though Jack can be a bit spoiled I can see him really throwing himself into the hero life. Just... I'm happy with my choices, I just don't feel I have the right to criticize like you lot do, ya know?" There were no hard feelings in her tone, just... touting a fact on her views of the matter.
She mostly just listened when the topic shifted back to Rowan, looking down to the floor for a moment, shifting the glass out from between her legs and off to the side. Heh... sick of Jaz? Hard to imagine. As much energy as she COULD have, she was a laid back, relaxed soul. If Rowan ever needed some space all she woulda needed to do was ask, and even then, it was very hard for her to imagine anyone getting tired of Jaz's personality of all things. Without much more thought than that she started to shift up to the bed, pushing off her hands and sitting up beside her, idly kicking her legs.
"I know I don't have to answer but... as tropey as it sounds the journey's pretty much all we have sometimes. I mean... just as easily as Rowan walked away you coulda... heh. Not to get morbid but you coulda died in the field with RedHorn. A villain coulda bombed the school and killed us. Rowan coulda died, coulda turned villain. Psssh. Heck if we're getting into hypothetical ends, I coulda turned villain from all the stress and electro nuked the school." She shrugged, clearly just trying to joke. "End of the day, maybe it's dramatic but ask that question of life. We put all this effort in for... what? To be remembered? To leave a good mark on the world? End of the day all we have is what we have and it all comes to an end so..." She nudged Jasmine's arm gently with her elbow. "I'd say... if you had a good time on the journey, that's all that matters. Cause one way or another it was gonna end so... now you get to just enjoy a new journey..."
She chuckled softly, falling onto her back as she giggled.
"Hey maybe try guys for a year or something. Dick ain't half bad.~"

Jasmine hummed before taking a sip from her drink, eyes turning to regard Yumi. "Sure, but I don't see you skipping out on coursework and stuff, right?" She raised her glass, index finger pointing at the redhead. "There's the difference right there. I..." She sighed, "I don't want to come across as judgy towards anybody -- not exactly my style -- but I feel like far too many people are taking what we're being prepared for far too lightly. I'unno, maybe that's just me. In which case..." she went back to her bed and sat down beside the other female in her room, "That's probably the least of our concerns. Gotta deal with what we have left, y'know?"
"You're happy. That's all that matters. As long as everybody's happy and content with the decisions they are making and aren't hurting anybody in the process, I don't really have anything to complain about."
Listening to Yumi speak Jasmine couldn't help but mull over the words that were offered to her. She wasn't wrong, Jasmine knew this. It wasn't just about the end. That train of thought by itself was inherently flawed. If people shouldn't get into relationships they weren't one hundred per cent sure were going to work, there would be no relationships to speak of. Yet at the same time she couldn't shed the want to bitch and moan. Let herself whine and complain -- she honestly didn't do that enough, or so some people have told her. Take it on the chin and soldier on, Jaz, she'd always tell herself, but at this point she was getting sick of that mindset.
"You? A villain?" she asked mid sip, a small smirk spreading across lips grazing glass. "Pretty sure you'd make an awful villain, hun. Far too cute for your own good," she teased, a quiet giggle escaping her.
"But nah, you're right, and I know you're right, it's just..." she groaned to herself before growing quiet, trying to organize her own thoughts in neat little compartments inside her head for her to be able to digest and turn them into words. It wasn't working -- alcohol made sure of that fairly quickly. Though she reckoned that wasn't the worst thing in the world. Jasmine just snorted to herself, "A new journey, huh?"
She raised her glass, "To the old and the new, eh?"
And drank.
Drank all of it, actually.
God she needed that.
A hand came to her mouth, a silent burp escaping two slightly parted lips. The forty-proof burned her throat and made her head swim pleasantly, a small tint of red painting her cheeks as a small smile settled on her face. Yeah. That was the ticket. Both her mind and body were now relaxed. Lack of food and sleep was making it much easier for her to get intoxicated as normally she could handle her liquor quite well. By now she was a little buzzed and was loving every second of it.
Noticing Yumi fall back on her bed, Jasmine followed... though turned around so she was on the flat of her stomach rather than her back. Even if she was buzzed, she was still quite aware of the fresh ink on her back. That would've hurt like a bitch.
The side of her head against her forearms, Jasmine's keen azures watched the redhead, ears perking up at the giggle. She blinked at the suggestion and where it made her intoxicated mind wander... and it was definitely not the route Yumi had just suggested.
"Uh... heh... don't think that's ever going to happen," she mused aloud, still staring. "Would be a waste anyway given how many beautiful girls there are around, y'know?"
Real subtle, Jaz.

Yumi wasn't so sure she agreed still, at least on her view of herself and the hero program. Even going to therapy, or, well, counselling for stuff like that, she still had those nerves about the whole thing. Just not sure if she was a perfect hero. She did the course work, she put in the hours but... she worried she wasn't all in like Jaz was. Still... it was nice that Jaz saw her as making a proper effort. If Jaz thought that, it was a nice, positive sign. For the rest of it all, she simply nodded along in agreement, feeling she was in a very similar boat.
"A new journey." She repeated back, watching as Jasmine came to join her on the bad, shaking her head with a smile as she watched her finish off her drink. She got the impression the girl could hold her liqour from the mere fact she kept a bottle in the dorm. The other factors weren't something she was really aware of so... when she got that affectionate comment and that delicate state, Yumi didn't think much of the alcohol's part in this, raising her hand up and taking one of Jasmine's, squeezing it gently as she rubbed the back of her palm with her thumb.
"Yeah... I can get behind that really... I mean, it'd ruin my bi-cred so don't tell anyone but... I definitely like girls more...~" She gently squeezed her hand again before releasing it, the same hand reaching across, still laying on her back as she brushed some of those two-toned strands of hair, shifting it out of the way of her eyes. "Something about their eyes is just a little more vibrant... the long hair... how it flows..." She took a slow breath and let out a relaxed sigh through her nose. "And ya know my favorite part? That... curve of our waists...~ Sure not every girl has it but just... feels like it was designed to put your arms around... cuddling a girls just the best ya know...?~" She had a bit of cheekiness in her smile, not drunk on the half glass she had herself, but definitely just... sinking into the moment the two of them were sharing while Jasmine was nice and tired. It was different seeing her like this, but far, far from being anything close to unwelcome, the back of her hand lowering to brush Jasmine's cheek.

"Hmm," Jasmine hummed tiredly, already feeling the post-food drowsiness approaching, enhanced further by the stronger mix of alcohol she had indulged herself in. Despite being as exhausted as she was Jasmine felt... content. That hadn't been the case in a while, most especially in recent days. With Rowan having been gone and so many things surrounding her being up in the air the way they were Jasmine very quickly felt herself lost, like she was forced to relinquish control and just go with the flow. She wasn't entirely against going at a pace different from hers but her nature still required her to have a modicum of control over things. Otherwise she'd start feeling anxious. Uneasy. Nerves she couldn't exactly help would start rearing their ugly faces at her, making her unable to sleep through nightmares that the PTSD she had mostly gotten over would conjure up from the deepest recesses of her brain. She had learned to face her fears and handle them more better over the years, but it was still anything but an ideal situation.
It was a little different now, though. Being in her room, all tired and vulnerable with another person present would've caused a number of issues for the third year, and yet... she was at peace. Something about Yumi made her feel a warmth she didn't feel often. Only when she was around the bubbly redhead did this pleasant feeling come around her, almost as though it was a reprieve from the world, an umbrella able to cover her from the shit storm raining down on her from above. Jasmine felt her tense muscles relax and her otherwise bright azures dim a little as she let her defenses down.
This is... nice, she thought, drunkenly contemplating the effect that Yumi seemed to have over her ever since that first date they had eating burgers out in the beachfront before washing the warm sand out from in between their toes against the still waters of the ocean.
A small smile came up on to her lips as she closed her eyes, just about to fall back into slumber with those pleasant memories fresh on her mind... when she felt the warm touch of Yumi's hand gracing her own. Fading azures slowly opened, face to face with Yumi's own gorgeous ambers. She had to pause for a moment, her diluted thought processes trying to figure out if she always looked this beautiful or if the alcohol was playing tricks on her. Her gaze drifted to their hands as she felt Yumi's thumb gently caressing the back of her hand, lips parting slightly to say something yet the words catching in her throat together with the breath she hadn't realized she was holding.
Under the influence of so many things Jasmine wasn't able to formulate a decent reply regardless of how much she wanted to whine when Yumi let go of her hand. Her brain felt like it was on the verge of short-circuiting as strands of her hair were delicately moved away from her face, the scent of citrus and ginseng still still incredibly prominent on her recently washed tresses. Jasmine's eyes widened a tad as she listened, unable to break off the eye contact regardless of how embarrassed she was beginning to feel as it seemed the redhead had no intention of letting go of her attention any time soon. A million thoughts per second raced through the confines of her mind like on a fourteen-lane speedway, making her head spin. She exhaled lowly, feeling a little dizzy as a sudden onset of heat rose in her chest.
She couldn't think. Couldn't form a coherent thought if her life depended on it. Hell, she didn't even want to do any of those things. Her entire being, from her head down to her toes, could only register the redhead's overwhelmingly warm presence, instincts zoning everything out almost as though she was in the middle of a fight. Only one priority was important. A want. A need. Through her hazed mind, Jasmine acted on it without question, slowly pushing herself up onto her elbows before she moved, quickly closing the distance between the two girls.
The taste of alcohol was still fresh on Jasmine's tongue, now mixing together with the sweet flavor of Yumi's lipstick. Jasmine's eyes were closed as she kissed her, a light shade of red covering her cheeks as she allowed herself to indulge and sink into the moment. Her body moved in accordance to her selfish desires, both of her hands cupping the redhead's cheeks gently while her legs shifted on the bed, quickly moving to straddle the girl below her. Jasmine's two-toned hair fell down onto Yumi as she kissed her, the reasonable nature she always prided herself on unable to register anything she was doing... nor able to actually give a shit beyond her woeful and unfair desires.
She needed this, and while part of her wanted Yumi to reciprocate, another, quieter voice inside her head begged to be pushed away.
