Normally speaking, Jack was the kind of person to speak up against this kind of way to solve a spat. Conflict can be solved with words under most circumstances, unless it was a situation involving a villain, of course. So, to put it rather bluntly, the young dragon boy despised the fact that the way Yasashi and Mrs. Keiko decided to solve their issues was by fighting. He wished that they could both just sit down and talk it out, just so that no one got unnecessarily hurt. And by no one, Jack was thinking of Yasashi in particular, knowing full well how strong his mother was.
However, against his better judgement, Jack got involved, at least somewhat. He helped Yasashi train for what was to come, and he made sure that he himself pulled no punches. He knew well enough that Jack's own power paled in comparison to his teacher's still. All he wanted to do was to at least ensure that Yasashi could hold out long enough to make his point clear, or however he really planned to solve this whole scenario. If he could at least do that, Jack could breathe a bit more, especially since it took his mind off of his own problems, regarding the fact that he was on Ishtar's list. Training was definitely a good distraction, he felt.
The day of the fight, Jack stood in the front row in silence, watching the fight with intensity. He crossed his arms, staying silent as many more spectators joined the stands, including Red Horn, who was right next to him. His horns were surprisingly clear, for once. He had no feelings towards what was about to happen, at least not at the moment. He knew that it wasn't going to be easy for either student or teacher. If he could avoid it, he would rather not get heated up in the moment. As much as he would like to jump in and help.
As the fight began, Jack couldn't help but grimace at the brutal beatdown that started pretty much immediately, Yasashi doing his best, but getting practically thrown around like a rag doll. "Come on, you idiot...remember our training..." he grumbled angrily, his silent vow not to get emotional breaking pretty much immediately as his horns turned a bright red hue. He bit his lip, preventing himself from yelling out to his friend, knowing that the distraction was less than what Yasashi needed right now.
To the side, he could overhear Red Horn's and Kiersa's conversation. Jack had personally asked the First Year to come and help with the healing during their training, as he found out fast how much of an experience gap the two actually had. It wasn't a surprise, but healing was most certainly needed nonetheless. When Red Horn asked who the sparring partner for Yasashi was, Jack simply raised up two fingers. "Yo." he said rather flatly, not taking his eyes off of the match.
"I thought if I could at least prevent Yasashi from getting his butt completely whipped by his mother, it would be easier for him to make whatever point he wanted to make. However..." he grumbled, shaking his head. "Just looks like another thing I might have failed to do, try as I might." With that, he went back to being silent, lamenting quietly at his failures to actually help anyone with anything. He couldn't help Meara, he couldn't help Yasashi...could he really help anyone?
As Yasashi lay on the ground, he could see that Frey was actually swooping in to help her master, Jack gritting his teeth lightly. "Get up...!" he growled, watching the crumbled form of his friend with a look of anger on his face.

Before Kiersa could answer Miss Kearney's question about who the sparring partner had been, Jack himself piped up with a "Yo", which she followed up with a nod. "I-It was... i-interesting w-watching bones g-going up a-against a dragon." she explained, deciding to go with that instead of absolutely terrifying. Neither of them had been holding back and she wasn't sure who had been more exhausted by the end of it all.
When Jack began to mutter that he had failed, judging solely from how the fight was going, the young blonde pouted and through her glove very briefly shone a reprimanding beam of light towards the second year dragon boys face for a split second so as to minimise any distraction risks to either of the combatants in the arena. There was no way she wanted either of them mad at her. Nope!
"Y-You d-didn't f-fail senpai." Kiersa said admonishingly. "E-Even Miss Kearney s-said th-that Miss T-Taka w-would be a h-hard opponent f-for her to fight... a-and she's s-super s-strong." she said, partially repeating what RedHorn had just said not a minute ago. She then quickly bowed her head. "S-Sorry a-about that..." Kiersa said apologetically.
Returning her attention to the fight, it definitely seemed that Yasashi was in a tough spot. Summoning so many skeletal arms and dogs was definitely appearing to be helping to try and keep the fight somewhat within an even level, what with their different levels of skill... But there was no way he could keep doing that. Especially not at the rate she was dismantling them with her sword.
The column of light in particular from the Riposte move... For some reason that made Kiersa's hands tingle, whilst her eyes were as wide as dinner plates as she looked on in awe. Of course, Aquitaine declared that she was about to use something called the Last March, which she figured was some sort of finishing move was the term... When a glint of metal caught her eye. Not from the arena, but from the stands itself.
She turned her head and let out a squeak as Frey was leaping off from the stands, with a pair of wings spreading out from behind her?! "Frey-chan-senpai!" Kiersa cried out as the Quirk turned flesh tried to make it to Yasashi! She was still not sure what she was meant to call Frey seeing as she was part of Yasashi's Quirk, but clearly her own individual identity and self...

Mia shifted her eyes across as Jack made himself known, scoffing as she shook her head. "Training against a dragon to prepare for a knight... sounds weirdly poetic..." She teased the two of them as she kept her eyes focused on the battle. By the looks of things Yasashi was really giving it his all. He wasn't an offensive fighter, with his skeletal minions and his walls of stone he was a tank, a delay tactic. The person who stalled or trapped the villains for someone else to deliver that grand blow so... watching his defenses, his bones constantly be cut down with such ease? It wasn't a pretty sight to say the least. She knew that Kiersa and Jack had both invested time in her potential victory, so she imagined it'd be hard for both of them to endure the show in their own ways.
"She's right kid don't beat yourself up. I mean don't get me wrong I think if Aquitaine and me came to blows I'd definitely come out on top but... one of you kids? Alone? Don't even think about it. She's taking this seriously and honestly I think Yasashi's lasting longer than you might in the same situation. He knows to keep a distance, stay on the defensive where he can... by now she'd have probably rended your scales apart and..." She sighed out. "On top of that your not her son. Whether she'd admit it or not I can't believe she's going all out right now."
She gripped onto the railing a little harder, Kiersa's cry bringing her attention to someone descending onto the battlefield... right. That girl was some weird aspect of Yasashi's quirk. Briefly she considered jumping across, stopping them and forcing them to stay up in the stands. Leave Yasashi's fight as his own but... well, she was part of his quirk. It wouldn't be unfair to let her fight...

Desmoshi's hands gripped tightly to the railing. With each hit that Aquatine dealt to her son, he winced, imagining the pain that was lay to bear Yasashi. This wasn't right. That was her son. Sure, she was doing her job as a combat instructor. And yes, Yasashi probably asked for this match. But this seem to much. Too personal. This was more than some friendly spar over differences. It felt like a full-blown-out war between mother and son. And it didn't sit well with Desmoshi.
Each sword swing that impaled Yasashi's armor was a constant reminder of what it took to be hero. He weathered each blow that he could and kept standing and fighting. But Desmoshi knew that Yasashi was in trouble. The others had pointed out that much. And the final strike was about to end it all... until the metal girl that came in earlier jumped into the fray. Desmoshi watched her descend upon the battlefield. Well if that's the case... "Don't you even think it," he heard RJ said. "Why not?!" Desmoshi said clearly frustrated. "He's getting pummeled out there! And no one is doing anything about it." RJ sighed. She hated this part but her nephew would just get smashed if he went out there. "It's not your fight," she said plainly, looking her nephew in the eyes.

To this was a one-sided fight would be an understatement. This was an old fashion beatdown. And RJ thought New Yorkers were hard on their kids. It was nothing compared to the fight she was watching right now. It hurt to see a mother and a son fight to prove something; to establish a point to the other. Then again, she wasn't sure why the two were fighting. And nor was her place to question it. Only to observe. RJ had her own daughter, niece, and nephew to deal with. She could understand what the pro hero was going through. She probably didn't want to fight her son. But villains wanted to hurt heroes. And she was to go any less on him, it would probably damage his pride and not show him how the world heroes truly were.
Her thoughts were interrupted when a metallic woman jumped the rails and descended into the fight. Was that apart of his quirk? A substitute? She noticed Desmoshi's stance, as though he was getting ready to jump the rails as well. She ordered him to not even think about it. Desmoshi looked at his aunt, clearly frustrated by the situation. But RJ continued. "If you were to interrupt the fight, you would end up taking that young man's pride," RJ said pointing Yasashi. "He probably asked for this challenge with wanting to prove himself to his mother. To interfere would be taking away his chance to prove himself. And besides, you would end up in the hospital for months if you went down there." Or years. The way the pro hero was fighting, she was out for war.
Desmoshi took his seat, still frustrated about the whole situation. She knew her nephew wanted to help. But this wasn't his fight. It was Yasashi's.

DON'T HOLD BACK TOBIAS WOULD DO EVERYTHING IN HIS POWER to be an impartial referee, but here-and-there were hints of sympathy in his body language. A gesture here and there that betrayed his concern. A hand fluttering to just below his sternum, and lingering there. He held his breath. Keiko lunged, Yasashi pulled himself sideways. A wince when the dog pounced Keiko from behind, but at least Tobias remembered how to breathe. At least for that moment.
By the time the action pitched upwards, and Keiko had begun calling-out her moves (a practice that the investigator had never fully understood, to be honest) Tobias had adjusted the inscrutable mask upon his features. Both of them were savage, in their own rights—moves with malicious intent were volleyed from both sides, Keikos’ moves were announced with militaristic seriousness, and were met by Yasashis’ own roars.
Such force. Such fury. Tobias sighed as Keiko announced the Last March. He wanted to close his eyes, truth be told. But Tobias was the one, out of everyone present, who had to keep his eyes open.
At this point, he’d circled even wider, giving the pair a wide berth so that he wasn’t caught in the crossfire. It was also at this point that Tobias was idly drawing a comparison between himself as a high-schooler and Yasashi—but all manner of reflection died when a form leapt from the rafters above, a streak of white. Ah, yes. The new summon, for whom the Informant had helped acquire school uniforms. He’d been so lost in thought, that he hadn’t noticed Frey’s presence.

[attr="class","oneword1"] [attr="class","fromyou1"] @name Lets have ourselves a little fun~
BA HA HA HA HA HA!
[attr="class","itsover2"]Yasashi righted himself, his chest hurt, the flames were doing their work beneath his armor but it would take more than a few seconds for him to recover. He slammed his head back against the small crater in the wall he'd left behind with his impact, using the horns of his helm to force himself to into a more steady posture. His arms screamed in protest to the maneuver, his muscles taxed momentarily while the healing caught up.
He looked up, and there she was. Staring down at him through that unfeeling helm. It was so... wrong. Damn it! Not a single good hit. All that effort he'd put into training with Jack. All that work Kiersa had thrown in. They'd stuck their necks out and done everything they could to get him ready. Even so. He gritted his teeth when she made the posture. Right Hand of Charlemagne. Her finishing move. A concussive strike mixing technique and raw power. It would pulverize his armor and leave him beaten, but alive.
He choked out an angry grunt as she raised her weapon up... and saw something green flash through the air.
His eyes widened. No!
Keiko looked down at her son while he glared back at her. Beaten. There was no fight left in him. What on earth had he tried to prove with all that? She already knew how far he'd come, she'd seen his growth every day as he trained. What was he trying to tell her? Why wouldn't he spit it out! She ground out a grunt of frustration and took a step back, fingers wrapping tight around her weapon as she adjusted her pose. She shifted to draw it over her head and-
Green.
Something verdant flashed through the corner of her vision. Something touched her skin. She gasped, looking right, and spotted a green flame wreath itself around her hand. Her fingers immediately went numb as the heatless fire caressed her skin, seeping through her armor like it was a cheese grater. Her grip on her weapon eased and she grit her teeth, taking a few more steps back and leveled her gaze on the interloper. Her strength returned a moment later, and she drew her weapon up to point at- Frey?
That thing... that girl? The one Yasashi had made with his quirk. She grinned beneath her helmet. Now things were getting interesting. "Don't stop the match! Let's hear it... little lady,"
Frey felt terror for the first time. Lady Aquitaine was no taller than she was, yet her presence was so huge it filled the entire room. Her father- Yasashi was facing this monster? Alone?! She felt her hands tremble when the woman pointed her weapon at her. Then, to her surprise, she demanded the match keep going.
"Frey!" Yasashi bellowed. "Frey what are you doing here?!" He demanded, she could hear him shifting, his strength returning fast while his flames worked on his body. His voice, angry as it was, gave her a little bit of courage. She took a breath and stared Aquitaine down, wordless, green flames dancing on her fingers.
"Nothin to say little lady? I don't mind you joinin' in but that's up to him, ain't it?" She said, gesturing to Yasashi.
"I told you to stay out of this! This was MY fight! MY chance! Why didn't you listen to me?! Frey! Look at-" Yasashi ranted, heat burning on his face, his eyes welling, his jaw tight with fury. He'd never felt so angry, so betrayed, so-
Writers note: You may now hit that play button for 'You Say Run <3
"TARTARUS!" Frey bellowed back, not taking her eyes off Aquitaine.
Yasashi froze, wide eyed, looking up at her. She held out a hand.
"I need a sword, sir," She said softly, taking a chance and glancing back at him. The look in her eyes said all he needed to hear. His muscles relaxed, the rage faded, and a smile crept across his helmeted face. He forced himself to his feet. She wasn't going anywhere, no matter what he said. They were in this together.
Tartarus took a deep breath, rolled his neck, and his armor sealed itself. He clapped a hand on her shoulder and dark grey metal spread across her clothes and skin like a blight. Before long, she was clad in her own suit of armor, a gleaming sword in her hand.
He looked at Aquitaine and formed a weapon in his own hand, pointing the sword at her.
"When I came to this school, I was so scared. Terrified of my own quirk! But you knew that!" Tartarus took a step forward to stand in line with Frey. Aquitaine stepped back, surprised, "YOU FORCED THIS ON ME!" He bellowed and lunged.
"YOU FORCED THIS ON ME!"
Keiko's world stopped.
She doubled back, raising her weapon in defence, Yasashi came in the front. His technique was sloppy but he made up in raw power and speed. She'd never had to rely on her speed before, strength and patience had been enough. But he was so fast! He swung and swung and swung, putting all of his titanic strength into each hit. Frey darted around the both of them, keeping pace, her own strikes, lacking technique as well, made up in quick and daring strokes. The little brat could fly for god's sake!
"YOU FORCED ME TO FIGHT, FORCED ME TO HURT PEOPLE, FORCED ME TO FACE MY TERROR ALONE!" Yasashi howled at her, keeping in her face. She pushed him back, finally catching up with his movements even as he kept up the verbal assault. "I FINALLY FIGURED OUT WHY! YOU ARE YOU!" He bellowed, Keiko blinked, stunned, she grit her teeth and dropped down, spinning and lashing her leg out at his own; tripping him before pirouetting up to land a kick to Frey's abdomen. She spun again and swatted both of them away, Sending the two off in different directions.
Tartarus hurtled through the air, he landed but kept his posture, looking up at Frey. Her wings flapping behind her. "TARTARUS! LETS TRY!"
He smiled, she had guts. He reached up and drew off his helmet, casting it aside. He had bruises all over his face but the flames had cleared away any signs of blood. He cocked a furious smile at Aquitaine. "You wanted another feather in your cap, well here I am!" He stood up, spreading his arms out wide. She didn't move a muscle. "You wanted to be the mother of the first second-generation pro-hero! You wanted to be the first to start a legacy! YOU WANTED THIS!" He bore his teeth.
"Well here I am! I learned! I overcame my fear! I'm not afraid of my quirk anymore! No thanks to you! I had friends help me, people who supported me and fought alongside me! Who trained with me!" Two blades poked out of the armor above his wrists. "I am Tartarus! The hero that will stop fights before they begin, who will strike terror with his presence, who will use fear to protect every person he can! Not for you! For the people who need it!" He bellowed.
"Now I'll show you exactly what the first second-generation pro-hero is capable of!"
"DOMINION OF HADES!"
He howled, and with all his might, slammed both fists straight forward toward the ground.
...so that's what it was.
Keiko watched her son drive his fists toward the ground in numb silence.
That's how he felt.
Her little boy.
He'd grown up so much, and it was in spite of her. A smile crept across her face as skeletons began to pull themselves out of the ground. One. Two. Five. Ten. Fifteen skeletons, armored like Frey, each carrying a weapon, formed a circle around her. She looked at each of them as their weapons erupted into plumes of green flame. She took a deep breath; Okay.
Show me, Yasashi.
She roared, charging at the first one while they all descended upon her in concert. Their attacks were about as skillful as Yasashi's own, but not nearly as strong. Even so, she noticed something was immediately off when she crossed blades with the first one. Another moved in without hesitation, at an angle that Yasashi couldn't see. Another came in, driving down attack from above, she blocked and kicked it away only for another to come in from below and drive its weapon almost into her side. She twisted, avoiding the flames and kicked it in the head. How were they doing that?!
She'd overseen Yasashi's training all year. She knew he could make them, knew he could control them like puppets, even program them to behave a certain way. But they had sequences, programs they followed. He couldn't change them on the fly that fast! Nor could he do it without being able to see it! It was impossible! He would need two brains! A whole extra set of eye-
Damn it.
Keiko looked up. There she was. A commander overseeing a battle, at the service of her king. Frey.
Something drove up and into her chin. A sword?! She gasped, and felt fresh air blast her skin. She staggered back as several sword blows cracked into her chest and felt her limbs go numb, her quirk already working hard to get her strength back. She felt the skeletons tackle her to the ground, her head exposed. She heard something erupt ahead of her and looked into the sky. Something dark falling toward her.
She looked up at her son, his fist raised as he flew toward her and just smiled.
It was only a theory. They'd experimented once during the training. Frey had proved she could do the same with the skeletons as long as Tartarus made them. She'd tried a few maneuvers but he'd forbidden her from getting too involved; they weren't sure of the limits and he wasn't bringing her into the fight.
Clearly she'd been practicing on her own somehow.
He looked up at the girl that called itself his daughter and beamed with pride, she'd certainly showed him. He looked down at Aquitaine. She hadn't said a word since his outburst, instead she'd simply fought back with everything she had. Little did she know he had barely any strength left. He was about at the limit of what he could make with his quirk, soon he'd begin digging into his own bone marrow. He could hardly stand. Even so. He had enough to make one last construct. A pillar, to hurl him forward if the opportunity-
Her helmet came off.
He didn't wait.
The black pillar erupted from the ground beneath him, sending him flying into the air. He raised his fist up and looked down at her. He clenched his fist. She smiled. Really smiled. Not the smile of a victor, or of someone satisfied with their little creation. He knew that smile. He broke into a smile of his own. Was he wrong? He grit his teeth. It didn't matter. He had to prove this to himself. He needed this! He reared his fist back and brought it forward with all his might!
CRACK!
Tartarus' fist slammed cleanly into Keiko's face.
He hit the ground, his strength spent.
The skeletons released Keiko.
She stood there for a while. Her jaw was cracked and dislocated. She knew how it felt. She stared up at the ceiling above. It'd been a long time since she'd felt a real injury. To think it'd be her own son. He'd come so far and she hadn't even noticed. Heck. He thought... well she knew what he thought. She looked down at him, kneeling, his armor crumbling to bits as his stamina gave out. A faint glow came to her jaw and her bones stitched, her jaw resetting. All that effort, and it was like she'd never been hit at all.
He looked up at her; "Guess that's i-"
She dismissed her armor, tossed her sword to the ground, and threw her arms around her son's neck.
"I am so blasted proud of you, Gentle Bird," She wept, clinging to him, "You have grown up into such a fine man, and I had no idea. I am so, so sorry I put you through that." She was barely tall enough to hold onto him. But after a moment... she felt his hand press against her back, and something warm and wet press into her shoulder.
"...I love you too, mom,"

Jack pursed his lips as he would continue to stare intensely at the match. Watching Freya jump in and defend Yasashi, the dragon boy felt a little heave of relief escape his nostrils, steam puffing out of his nose. While she had a life of her own, she was still a part of Yasashi's Quirk. It only made sense that she would be able to join in. As he spoke on his feelings on the matter, his eyes never left the fight, still having a silent plea for his friend's success. He didn't care that his mother was as strong as she was - this fight had to MEAN something!
His gaze was suddenly broken as Kiersa would flash a light in his face, scolding him lightly for his feelings of failure. His eyes suddenly turned a golden hue and sharp like a predator's as he would glare at the girl for a moment. While he would normally concede that she had a point, he didn't appreciate the unnecessary flashing. Especially when it didn't really change his feelings in the slightest. He simply grunted in response to her apology, before returning his gaze back to the match.
Meanwhile, Ms. Kearney would echo Kiersa's point, noting that if it were Jack out there, he may have already lost. His eyes narrowed lightly as he would glance at her, not exactly liking the light hit to his pride. He did still consider himself a bit stronger than Yasashi, but that was neither the time nor the place for that. He once again grunted and closed his eyes for a moment, nodding lightly as he conceded to his teacher's point. "Even so, I would have liked our training to do SOMETHING..." he grumbled as he returned his gaze to the match...
And watched as his comment apparently willed itself into existence. Ask and you shall receive.
He watched as Frey's and Yasashi's teamwork managed to match Aquitaine's power even for a moment. The brilliant display of teamwork, even with some of the footwork he recognized with their training, managed to slowly but surely allowed them to gain footing in the match. It was a sight to behold, and Jack's eyebrows shot up and he gripped the railing with his now suddenly appearing claws, digging into the metal like it was a hot knife through butter.
And then, it happened. A single strike, but he would see the effects from here. Yasashi flat out managed to dislocate Ms. Keiko's jaw, even if the dragon boy knew that it wouldn't matter much. But it HIT, and that's all that did matter. He watched intensely at what happened next, his entire body still as he expected some sort of retaliation from the hero.
Instead, Yasashi's mother embraced her son and cried, the two finally coming to terms with all that had happened. Jack stopped gripping the rail and crossed his arms, a faint smile coming to his features. Maybe his previous lamentation was too soon, he supposed. However, he felt a strong pain in his heart as he watched the scene, memories of the loneliness of his past catching him by surprise. He pursed his lips, on one hand still very happy for his friend...and on the other wishing that his own parents had that kind of support for him. They were on good terms NOW, but...
Jack shook his head lightly, deciding to catch up with his friend later on. This was his moment - no need to sully it so soon with his own bullshit emotions. "I suppose that's that, then," he said finally, scooching his way out of the stands, and away from the crowd. He still had on a small smile on his face, but tears did lightly roll down his face. They were both happy and sad - happy that at least he succeeded in something for once, but sad of all that he still failed at. At least he wasn't completely useless. He hoped that Yasashi got the closure he was looking for.
Now Jack just needed to find his.

Kiersa gave a small eep as Jack's eyes turned all draconic after she'd done her "light spritz"... Although Miss Kearney did try to back her words up towards the older student, although it didn't seem to quite work as either of them had desired at the moment. She returned her focus to the fight below, and Frey had joined the fray herself with her own green fire.
And then the entire pace and dynamic of the battle shifted in their favour. With both of them combined, or rather reunited since Frey was a part of Yasashi's Quirk, Aquitaine found herself on the backfoot rather quickly. But as much as the physical fight itself was utterly astounding, what caught the young blondes focus was what Yasashi was crying out towards his foe, his opponent... his mother.
The reason behind this fight, the reason behind this whole situation they found themselves in today... The feelings of lacking a choice in his fate, the weight of having an expectation that he was being forced to live up to... Kiersa clutched her hands together as she watched and listened to the two fights being waged before them, the physical and the emotional, her fingers rubbing at the silver band on her ring finger.
Yasashi's words resonated with something inside of her, she recognised that weight... And as Yasashi's weight seemed to become that much lighter with that final punch to Keiko-sensei's jaw, and they all began to hug it out, Kiersa let out a tremendous wooping cheer and actually jumped up in her seat, clapping her hands together before trying rather quickly to recompose herself. Her face was completely crimson from allowing such uncouth decorum to be let loose for a moment.
But the young blonde had to admit to herself... It had felt nice to drop the mask for a moment. Even if it was just a moment. Kiersa hoped that now that Yasashi's mask had also been dropped, the relationship between him and his mother could begin to be mended. Although it looked like they were already on track for that from her point of view up here.
Maybe the rest of her time here at UA wasn't going to be so bad after all.

RJ could understand from the position of a mother what Keiko was going through. You wanted to see your child do well. You wanted to grow past you and step forth from the shadows that you left for them. But Yasashi wasn't having it. He was out there to prove to his mother that he had grown past her for a while. That's what this fight was mostly about to her in her eyes. The fact that someone had grown past the thing that forced them into all this. But despite all that Yasashi said to her, she still smiled. The smile that RJ knew all too well. The smile of a proud mother.
As Yasashi fist met Keiko jaw, RJ couldn't help but think of her own relationship with Selena. She was practically an adult now working with the Informant. RJ looked over to the stoic giant who sat watching the match. Her daughter had finally obtained the first step in her goal- although she helped with it. But Selena made her promise not to help her anymore, that she wanted to do things her own way. And that made RJ smiled. As she watched the two combatants hug, she couldn't help but have a tear come down her face. She always enjoyed these moments despite how it got there.

The boy observed the fight diligently, though he turned his attention to Perry with a gentle smile, albeit a bit tired. "...thank you, Perry-sensei." He took the kindly provided snacks to the quirked possum who followed him here and then was about to turn his attention back to the fight, but then...his phone went off? At a time like this...geeze...it was on silent at least so it wouldn't disrupt anything or anyone. Though the message his eyes fell upon weren't something he could easily brace himself for.
[break][break]
Everything around him blurred off into white noise, there was absolutely nothing out there that could brace him for the text sprawled across the screen. As quickly and silently as he got there, he was headed straight back out the door without so much as a word, leaving behind the suitcase. It would be useful to them at least if they needed it...his friend had all the support he needed here anyway. An emergency was just that, he knew Yasashi-senpai would probably understand that at the very least. Without even a bow or farewell, he hurried right out the door since he needed to verify if the words sent to him were true or false from the sender themselves.

Watching Yasashi put in his all to try and get just that one solid blow in... heh, well Mia of all people was definitely impressed. From working with him and talking to him before Mia always worried he was the kind of person to lack a bit of tenacity. She'd met him using his quirk to help a civilian but that desire to be a hero despite consequences was different from what he was displaying now. Even if it was rage and fury at play here, it was being harnassed, temptered into a strike that finally Yasashi managed to pull off... and ass the tension faded, it seemed the family bonds remained unbroken. Strained for a time perhaps, but they remained strong as everything came to a halt.
"Well... I guess the shows over." She commented playfully, pushing off the railing she'd been watching from with a hefty breath. She wasn't sure where things would go for Yasashi and his mom from here but it certainly wasn't Mia's place to judge, starting to leave the room since the battle seemed to be over. It wasn't like 'oh the fun parts over, guess I'll leave', more so this moment seemed...a lot more private now, from Mia's perspective.
