“N-No! Don’t do that!” Luzia froze... not from the cold this time; it was shock. One second she was clawing, pawing at the protective casing in desperation, begging and pleading Niso for help, but then the little girl... the little shit threw her hand out, blocking her from the casing. Luzia just... stopped. Completely and utterly surprised by the fact that someone denied her. They didn't just deny her, either; they denied her one of the few things in this fucking world that did anything good for her! Everything was still cold, so very cold, not even her blood could boil... but still, she was angry. It was an angry she wasn't used to; normally, she would have probably grabbed that arm and stabbed it, but that wasn't an option.... Instead, Luzia just... slowly turned, deaf to her words. Without the light within her, it was like the shadows crawled over her, hiding her face... but even then, her eyes were still visible, focusing on ParaSyte like she was the only thing in the world. Those eyes focused on ParaSyte like Niso wasn't in the room, like the room didn't exist. Energy... not neon... not heat... nothing that could be felt so easily radiated from her, not just once, but in waves, waves that flowed over ParaSyte. Each one was filled with anger, filled with completely unfiltered, completely unhinged, murderous hate that would feel crushing, choking the air out of her lungs, suppressing the life out of her. Wave after wave that could almost be physically felt radiated from her, encapsulating ParaSyte, threatening her life like the aura alone would rip whatever she had for a heart out bare-handed, crushing it in front of her very eyes before tearing those out, too. ParaSyte had just made one of the worst mistakes of her life. But, she was saved; Niso moved between them, breaking line of sight, and soon after, Luzia looked up with a gasp as a little snapping sound hit her eyes. All of a sudden, that rage that would have made Muramasa proud was gone, and Luzia clamored, almost pulling the IV drip down on top of herself as she desperately pressed that up button. Then... bliss. It only took seconds for IV drips to work, but everything started to just... get better. A happiness, a contentment, a fuzziness started to well up inside of her, and her arms weakened, a happy groan coming out of her as she started to slump. The bad news was gone, her futon was suddenly a lot more comfortable... and there wasnt even a little piece of shit trying to stop her from being happy. There was just... high.

| even if we're devils I won't abandon you |
She wanted more? But too much medicine was as bad as not enough. At least, that was what he always told her. Byeol-Su whimpered softly and had her mouth open to protest more when she looked from Niso back to Luzia.
And her voice died in her throat.
At once her arm retreated back to her, and clung to the other at her waist. Her insides felt stabbed again. But worse. There was something else on top of the sharpness--a heat that went from her belly into her throat and up to her ears and made them burn. The bits of her still falling didn't stop but her breathing went eerily still. She forgot how to breathe. It just burned. It burned and it stabbed and it hurt so much that she wanted to...to melt, but not come back. Byeol-Su already took confrontation--especially outside of a host--so poorly. But when he scolded her it felt different than this. There was never a feeling that he would hurt her. Never. Not on purpose. But...
Byeol-Su took a step back, unable to break eye-contact with Luzia, until the sound of glass shattered and Luzia looked away first. She might have lost her focus, but Byeol-Su didn't recover so quickly. Instead she just dropped to her knees with a hard, wet sound, hands in her lap, staring down.
Was that...what it was like to have somebody want to kill you? She had never seen it before in her own eyes. Sometimes through a host, but not as herself. Not when there wasn't a barrier--a disconnect--between the danger and herself. And at the same time this didn't feel completely like fear.
Byeol-Su leaned forward a little, and her form slowly sunk a little as well, pooling out around her as her lower legs dissolved first. When she finally found her breath, somewhere, her voice came out very, very small.
"I'msorry. I'msorry. I'msorry. I'msorry.” She wanted to explain herself but she couldn't. She just mumbled her little apology repeatedly, and melted.
Please don't hate me.
From the doorway, where she'd been sitting like the goodest of girls, Skoll let out a small whine and got up to trot up to her owner, who was melted up to her knees now. She whined again, putting a paw on Byeol-Su and giving a slight push, but it didn't get a response. What was wrong? Why was she sad? Skoll looked up at Niso and whined a third time. He smelled most like this place, like her owner, so he was a friend right? What was wrong?

Niso sighed heavily through his nose as he just gave into the moment that was unfolding before him. There wasn't really much he could do to stop this and given what Luzia was going through he wasn't sure for once if he'd want to stop it even if he had toe balls to in the face of Luzia. Even if the glare she gave wasn't aimed at her Niso could feel it... that churning sensation resting in his gut that knew, if she wanted to... Luzia was one of the few people who had the true tenacity to kill him, and finish the job too. Maybe not without her Neon but... damn even then she'd give it a hell of a shot he was sure.
When she sunk back into bed and the drugs started to flow inside her body he just... shook his head and turned away. Parasyte was muttering she was sorry and that little dog was sniffing around his leg. He hesitated for a moment, just processing things before acting without much of an actual thought inbetween. He crouched low and scooped up Parasyte and the little dog, resting Parasyte in his arms with Skoll resting against her chest. "Don't worry about it slime ball... like I said she knows what she's doing."
He let out another hefty breath and started to walk out of the room with Parasyte and Skoll, idly bringing back a hand and scratching behind the pup's ears in a way he somehow instinctively knew it would like as they started to leave Luzia to her devices. "She does this... a lot. When things are bad. Less when things are good but... it helps. It helps her clear her head. I know you don't know her well but... can ya trust me that she knows what she can handle?"

Byeol-Su didn't look up at the sound of footsteps, or the sound of sighing, but she didn't have much of a choice as she was suddenly being lifted up. With her lower legs being melted she wound up with an arm under her back and upper legs, while everything below the knee dripped loosely to the floor like spilled, melting ice-cream. She looked up at Niso in surprise. It wasn't the first time he'd picked her up but it was the first time like this. Like how he would hold her when she asked him to. It was comforting, and warm.
Skoll let out a little yip and turned herself around and around to then lay down atop her owner's chest contentedly. They made for a good pillow.
Her eyes went downward again though with his words. Don't worry... "I do not think I can. Stop worrying, I mean. But that...I...she looked like she really wanted to kill me just now..." she swallowed and nestled deeper into his chest, voice muffled slightly, "I just wanted to help. I just wanted to do something right. I couldn't heal her. I kept her alive but...but she isn't okay. She's hurting more, and I can't help at all. It hurts. It hurts so bad...what do I do if she hates me for that? Or for trying to stop her? I don't want her to."
If she hates me, what will I do?
[smear:#d11e58]Why does it matter? She hated me before. Nothing's changed.[/smear:#811313:2]
Then why do I feel so sick...?
"...I want to go home. I feel sick. Do you need to sleep?...can you sleep?" She looked up at him with her blue eye visible from between her hair and his torso. The look of genuine, innocent concern in it was probably very strange to see, given who it came from. "You are not okay, too, are you? Are you hurting? Can I help at all...?" Just let me do one thing right today.

Niso just held Parasyte till they got out of the room. He knew how quickly Luzia could... fade out of it, to say the least about things. But he wanted to be sure none of his words would work into her brain or her dreams or whatever. He slunk back into the nearest thing that could be used as a seat whether it was an actual chair or a counter of some sort, holding Parasyte a little closer but with his gaze off in the distance.
"... Let me take a leaf out of my old book and refuse to lie Parasyte..." He took a slow breath and looked her in the eye... it was odd seeing a gaze that he typically only saw in the mirror, albeit on half of her face. Both uncomfortable yet... soothing. Then again Niso's reactions to anything was never normal to begin with. "I can't either. I hate this. I hate everything about it. I'm used to dealing with my consequences. Doing what I like whenever I like because... I heal, I can outrun it, I can hide, I can endure, I can survive but... I never liked her doing this before. I don't like her doing it now... especially now. Because now it's my fault. I used to find her dru-" He hesitated, realizing how she saw it. "Medicine to take, more than she should have but... now I'm not just the one giving it to her, I'm the reason she has to do it." He rubbed a hand over his face, the frustration was getting to him, gooey flesh sticking to his hand but quickly snapping back into place once he noticed it.
"... I'm the reason your eye is wrong. I'm the reason she lost her quirk. I'm the reason I am some..." He laughed incoherently for a moment, one arm still supporting Parasyte as the other ran back through his hair. "Can I even call myself human anymore!? I was fighting my own body for days on end and then I was a puddle and now I just... I decide to look human because thats 'right' and 'normal' for me because I might actually be scared of being something else. Something more chaotic without my say in the matter..."
He continued to chuckle away... tears in his eyes at this point, his lungs starting to hurt. Least he fucking figured out his tear ducts of all things...
"... I need a distraction..." Is all he said to her request to help, the same thoughts as her running through his head. He needed them to stop. "Does... does your friend let you watch cartoons or something...?"

They wound up seated on the table in the middle of the room, which was fine. It wasn't like its purpose wasn't for people to sit on it. Usually they were less conscious that her or Niso though, or at least laying down. Eh.
Byeol-Su worry only deepened. She didn't understand all of this. Why any person would want to put something so bad into their body confused her on a lot of levels. She knew adults did it, and she knew some people who even sold those things, but she didn't know why. It couldn't feel good. She hated needing to take her medicine so much, why would she seek out more of it and make herself sicker? But it looked like Luzia really wanted it, enough so that she'd looked so furious when Byeol-Su tried to stop her. If that was how adults got when they needed that much medicine to feel good then Byeol-Su never wanted to try it herself. She was sure she'd die.
But on the off chance it didn't just kill her, she wasn't going to rush to find out what it would do to her, inside or out. Urgh. That made her shudder.
What made those feelings worse was seeing Niso not only breaking down and admitting that he felt guilty over Luzia's state, but also Byeol-Su's own, and on top of it all he blamed himself for his Quirk making him into what he was now. Well...yes, and no, to all of those. "You just wanted to make her happy. The rest was a bad thing but it wasn't your fault. And...my eye isn't bad. It's weird, but not bad." It was the thoughts that weren't hers--not entirely--that was more worrying. Then Byeol-Su frowned and let out a small grumble. "If you aren't human any more, then so aren't I. Or. You know what I mean. So don't say that. We're still human. We're just weird."
"And I like that we're both weird. It makes me feel less weird. So. Shush."
Maybe that last part was a little selfish, but it was true. And she knew for certain it wasn't some confusing new feeling that made her want to stop Niso's fears or crying. Niso was her friend. Friends cheered each other up.
Byeol-Su nodded. She wasn't sure how much this would really help, but he needed a distraction, and she had some. "Yes. We have a big screen and couch, too. And movies. And sweets." A tiny, meek smile pulled at her still runny cheeks. "I'm sure friend won't mind at all if we aren't too loud. Do you like mochi? We have a lot of mochi." She paused to frown a little. "Though if you are tired of gooey stuff maybe we should eat other things."
