As Bura's massive body crashed against the giant behemoth of a monster-Bura expected a rough landing, but not quite this painful. The Spiny bones sticking out of the thing's back stung as it pierced his hide like skin, and him slamming against the ambulance as hard as he did.
Bura upon impact grunted in pain as all of the scents of the beast came in at once- it smelt horrid and what he guessed of rotted meat. The young man wanted to empty the contents of his stomach- but Bura instead kept his rage-filled focus on the beast, doing his best to keep it down while assistance arrived.
And it arrived with Kyouko who tangled the beast with her hair, which gave Bura enough time to stand up on his feet to gather his stability and focus from the injuries and the pain back of his head. But as quickly as the pain came, it started to ebb away as his regeneration started to kick in. Bura, with a shaky sigh, turned on his radio as Perry-sensei contacted him. Perry starts the call with a compliment that got a laugh and blush out of Bura before he listened to his teacher's plan and responded, "Roger and Over,"
Bura hanged up the radio and got ready to distract the beast with his "mass." Bura wasn't sure what he meant by that, so Bura did what one would expect him to do to make himself look bigger by puffing out his wool slightly to look bigger and tried to get the monster's attention. Which didn't seem to be needed as he heard Perry taunt the creature before attempting to slam his plane? Bura was frankly, taken aback for a moment not quite expecting that plan of attack, but Bura looked excited as he does so. This is so cool.

♔Perhaps he was being a bit too cold. Maybe he was attacking the skeletons with a bit too much force. But Yuhiko did not see it that way. He did not see these undead as people or human. They were nothing more than monsters trying to attack the innocent, and for that, there would be no mercy from the Luminous Lord. Perhaps if they had even a shred of humanity left, then his attacks would not be as harsh. However, there seemed to be no signs of that. Besides, why should he hold back? What if someone got hurt because he did not crush the undead with all his might? No, Yuhiko could not risk that possibility. As long as the danger of people getting hurt continued to exist, then his attacks on the zombies would continue without mercy or hesitation.
Speaking of attacking, Yuhiko was not merely striking the undead blindly. He was not simply bludgeoning them all to... well 'death' wasn't exactly a fitting word to use here when it came to the undead. Anyway, as he attacked, Yuhiko was making mental notes about what seemed effective and what did not. For instance, it seemed as though aiming for the skeletons' heads was more effective at making them stay down. With this information in mind, all of Yuhiko's attacks from that point on would be directed at the zombies' heads. The only time this would not be the case is if a zombie was getting too close to a civilian, in which case a swift blow to the chest would drive one back and provide some space.
With the group's combined efforts, the zombies were all driven back successfully, keeping the civilians safe. Objective complete. But now was not the time to celebrate. It was far too soon to think that this would be over just yet. Yuhiko doubted that things would remain simple for long. There could be more zombies lying in wait. He needed to be ready in case there were more to deal with. To conserve energy, Yuhiko deactivated his quirk. At this brief reprieve, having his gems active would serve no purpose.
"Save your praise." Yuhiko said to Angel. Not necessarily in a rude tone, but one who did not know Yuhiko well could understandably mistake the meaning of his words and misinterpret it as him being rude. Not that he really cared one way or the other what anyone thought of him. But really, he was just a no-nonsense type of guy. In his eyes, if the winged girl had the time to compliment him, then she had time to go do something else to contribute. Not that Yuhiko didn't appreciate her words, but now was not the time to get smug. The job was not over. Everyone could make small talk after the mission was complete, not during.
Alright, so with the bus now clear, it was time to await further orders. And those orders came. Paw Might requested that the others join in once the zombies on their end were cleared. Seeing as that was indeed the case, Yuhiko was ready to go. But then he heard Angel tell him to keep the principal and civilians safe until she returned. The urge to scoff and roll his eyes was great, though it was one Yuhiko had to resist. The girl may be his senpai, but that hardly meant that she had the authority to give him orders. Who did she think she was? Fortunately, Yuhiko was more interested in getting the job done than antagonizing anyone. He crossed his arms as he spoke. "Understood. Just hurry up." After all, Paw Might did give Yuhiko orders, and he had no interest in getting reprimanded just because he did not follow orders.
Of course, that did not mean he could not do both at once. While keeping a watchful eye on the civilians, Yuhiko looked toward the behemoth that looked to be far more persistent than the other zombies. He took careful aim as he once again activated his quirk, activating the ruby and sapphire to give him power and range, respectively. Moving close enough to be within range if it was necessary (or staying still if not), Yuhiko aimed one precise blast of energy at the behemoth, aiming to distract it long enough for Paw Might's maneuver to work.
However, that one blast would be all Yuhiko would spare for now. Immediately afterwards, Yuhiko would deactivate his quirk and back off, letting the others there finish up. He needed to conserve his energy, so hopefully his one blast would be enough to distract the zombie long enough for the pro hero to deliver the finishing blow without fail.
Still, there was always something for Yuhiko to do. So heading back to the civilians, he looked to see if anyone needed any help. He noticed the EMT and decided to offer some assistance. "Do you need any help?" Yuhiko did not have too much to do at the moment, so he supposed he could spare some time. "I admit I don't know too much about first-aid, but if you need supplies, I can quickly go check the area and return with anything you might need posthaste."
Unless the Principal or Paw Might gave Yuhiko orders to do something else, then this would be his current assignment. Still, he did not forget his main objective. Keeping an eye out, Yuhiko would check to see if there were any more zombies around or approaching from afar. No more civilians would need to worry about them. Not on his watch! And of course, the Principal would be kept out of harm's way as well. Yuhiko would not allow anything to get in the way of Kobayashi's mission.

Unimaginable pain was all that was in Kyouko's world. Despite this though she held on with her eyes welling with tears from the pain. Sharp headache ensuing she knew her limit would be coming sooner than later. Why was she so weak? How could she fall behind so much in comparison to her classmates? Was it possible she wasn't disciplined enough? Was she a failure as a student? Maybe she should have followed her parent's advice and just went into the business industry like her brother. It wasn't like the path to success wasn't available to her. The power and connections her mother had would help pave the way to a very successful career, but no, she had to go to hero school.
As every second passed she could feel each fiber in her hair being pulled. It was beginning to be too much for her as single strands of hair would begin to dislodge themselves from her follicles. Each strand that would separate from her head was met with either a grunt or a yell of pain. What was taking the rest of them so long? She couldn't do this herself and she didn't want Bura to be hurt anymore than he already had been. He was so nice and kind. Though they didn't know each other well Kyouko honestly saw him as a friend. She couldn't bear to be responsible for more damage to be done because of her inability to keep the creature tied down. How does one even train a hair quirk anyways? She knew how to keep her hair healthy at the very least, but how does she go about making it more durable or stronger? These would have to be questioned for another time though.
As instructions came through on the radio Kyouko felt a tinge of hope. The cavalry was coming to back them up. "Thank goodness," Kyouko said aloud still writhing in pain but keeping her stance as she was gently pulled down the streets along with the creature. Opening an eye to see what was going on she could make out a blurry Bura doing his best to keep the beast distracted, but she couldn't see Perry come in for the finishing blow. Her vision had grown hazy from the pain and the tears in her eyes gave everything a glossy look. She could only imagine how terrible she looked at this moment with her makeup smearing across her face. Kyouko would need to invest in some waterproof makeup next time. The young girl would continue to hold her ground as much as she could despite everything going on. At least she could say she was determined so even if she proved useless and weak in this situation she could prove she at least tried her best. That was something right?
Would this be enough for her parents to finally understand her or would they try and force her to return home and drop out of school? She didn't want to leave the school as she was enjoying the freedom she was having with her quirk usage. Kyouko didn't want to go back and force herself to hide her quirk from the world. That was her dream to not be ashamed of her quirk or society to call her a freak just because she was able to control her hair. Was that so much to ask for? Acceptance and the ability to do things for the better of others. If only her parents could fully support her decisions to be someone who used her quirk for the good of others. If only.

The undead behemoth let out an eerie, furious roar, the human mouth atop its neck, and the giant, toothy maw in the middle of its stomach crying out in tandem. It didn’t sound like an action-movie monster. It sounded like a person. Or, rather, several people, howling in unison.
Atop the bus, the civilians flinched, the soldier’s reply to Principal Kobyashi and Angel cut short by the reminder that they were still in danger. They turned to stare at the behemoth--and the students fighting it--the battered form of Burabura standing tall and defiant in front of the creature, Kyouko struggling and tearful as she strained to restrain it.
Inch by inch, the behemoth struggled to sit up, slowly overpowering the hair-tendrils that had bound it to the ambulance. When it was upright, it paused, focused on Burabura, the shrivelled bald human head staring at him in fury. It was almost funny--the head was disproportionately tiny, like a wrinkled old man’s skull on top of a gorilla, glaring in impotent rage. Nothing was funny, however, about the massive spiked paw it raised to swat at the minotaur-quirker.
Yuhiko’s blast struck it in the side of the head, and it flinched, distracted, fury turning on the bus, hand paused in mid-air.
Before it could decide on a target between Burabura, or the bus of civilians, Perry made his second pass. A line of nail-shot hammered into the tiny old man’s skull, and it screamed in pain, the stomach-mouth howling along. Both arms thrashed, one trying to cover his face, the other tugging at the hair-vines as it started to drunkenly stagger to its feet.
Perry was too fast, however.
His tiny plane darted in the gap of the giant paw-arms, faster than than the behemoth’s lumbering attempt at defense. The motor of his biplane choked and whined, smoke belching from the engine pipes, as the front propeller slammed into the behemoth’s head with lethal force.
Gore sprayed into the air.
The behemoth slumped.
For a moment, it sounded like the engine might stall--but not yet. Perry’s plane had other battles to fight tonight. It choked, spluttered, whined, but under his expected controls, he pulled it free, leaving the behemoth to fall behind him, a dark brown ruin left atop the stump of its neck.
It was dead. For real.
Atop the bus, Principal Kobyashi slowly nodded in approval. The rest of the civilians were silent, still, staring at though they didn’t quite believe what they’d seen.
A second later, Angel appeared, back by the bus holding an improbably large van while she flew. It looked impossible. The soldier blinked, barely propped up by the uninjured EMT, as though he couldn’t believe his eyes.
“Your chariot awaits!” Angel's words cut through the silence.
Suddenly, a cheer went up among the survivors, grown men and women whooping and hugging each other, tears streaming down faces in raw, naked relief, as though Angel’s words had unleashed a storm of emotion that was too strong to keep inside.
"Strong!"
“Chariot! Ha! I thought you were dead! That plane! And you took that charge like *wham*! And those vines! And the skeletons! I thought we were dead! You UA kids are crazy! You’re really something--I never thought I see PawMight up close! I never thought I’d see anything like that--!” Voices talked over each other, the civilians crowding around Angel, the Principle and Yuhiko, excited, full of energy and life. A woman in a bus driver’s uniform slid down, inspecting the car, nodding at Angel in thanks.
“Prais the gods. You're Angel, right? Angel of...Justice? Or Mercy? How strong are you! You're so tiny, and you can live that like...BOOM! And someone did leave their keys inside. I don't want to steal, but..if you think it’s okay…” She swallowed. “Where can we go?”
Atop the bus, Principal Kobayashi seemed to hide a brief, rare smile.
The EMT turned to Yuhiko, meanwhile, looking surprised at the offer of help.
“You’ve already done a lot. I thought this was it. Are you sure?” He asked. Seeing the look in Yukiho’s eyes, he nodded, cutting off a reply. “Wait. I understand, son. You and your classmates are a goddamn miracle. Thanks.”
He sat down atop the bus, grabbing his bag from his hip, and pulling out a medical kit.
“Alright. Zombie sprained my ankle when they pulled me off the bus. Can you wrap it? Tight. Tight enough I can walk on it. And then, anyone who’s willing--help your Angel move the rest to the car. Be very gentle. Most of them have bites. Deep. They've suffered a lot of blood lost. I'll need another hand bandaging them, and someone to help me splint the soldier's leg. Wait, are all of you okay? Your giant friend took a bad hit. Is he a pro? I don't recognize him. And the young lady looks...”
The EMT swallowed delicately, looking at Kyouko with a concerned frown. "Shaken. Those vines are you hair, right? That had to hurt. You're very brave."
Meanwhile, the soldier turned to Kobyashi, face white in pain.
“Sir! Private Ohashi, PSC security.” He said, stumbling to rise in a parade salute. Kobayashi put out a hand, pushing him back down. “I was supposed to report you, sir--I--”
He swallowed, and suddenly, it was clear just how young the soldier was. Not as young as the UA heroes, but early twenties, at oldest. He was new at this too, and barely holding together.
“Our helicopter got shot down. I got thrown out, and managed to deploy my parachute, but I was too low to the ground. My leg sir, it hurts when I walk--I think it’s broken. I started walking, and then the ambulance whipped around the corner, sir, and--there was a crash.”
The bus driver looked up at him from the ground, where she was preparing the van with Angel, muttering under her breath. “What the damn fool is trying to say is he was walking in the middle of the road at night, when hell’s gates have opened, and when the ambulance swerved so it didn’t turn him into a pancake, they hit my van.”
She sighed, looking at Angel, and reconsidered. “Well. I guess I can’t be too harsh. He’s the only thing that kept us alive until you came here.”
The soldier swallowed, going pale.
“I’m sorry, sir--the package was back aboard the helicopter, and I couldn’t--” He choked up, frozen.
Principle Kobyashi clasped his hands behind his back, frowning.
“You didn’t go back for your squad, private? Why?”
The private looked up at Kobyashi with wide, watery eyes.
“Kobayashi, sir--we weren’t taken out by a zombie. We were shot out of the sky by something else. An RPG. Someone human fired it.” He closed his eyes, letting out a hiss of breath, sobbing softly. “There were gunshots, too. Something...something’s wrong sir. I think it was a trap.”
Kobayashi frowned, rubbing his head, looking very troubled.
“I see. Alright. Your mission is to escort these civilians back to UA. One of you has a phone with a GPS, I’m sure. Tell them I sent you. Angel of Mercy, did you remember to leave your contact information for the owner? Paw Might--perhaps help her with that.” He barked. Then, Kobayashi lightly jumped off the bus, turning to Perry.
“The helicopter shouldn’t be too far ahead. Open field. Take a moment to collect yourselves. If any of you wish to turn back, now is the time. I'm sure there's room in the van Angel procured.”
It was true--past the last few houses, a dirt road coiled up into the hills around Mustafa. And from the fields in the hill, a plume of smoke rose above the darkness.

Things were more then complicated and rather messy as well. It was no good no good at all, To many spooky zombies and these big beasts hanging around that were up to no good causing trouble and what fore. But thankfully his team kept pushing forward in their efforts as well as the little Red Baron Jr. trucking along with the rumble of its little engine roaring and chugging along as strong as always. OF course a surprise to himself the large creatures head was not as powerful as he expected and had become a pudding like past that now gunked on his propeller and was slowly spat and shot off this way and that as the spinning tiny blades cleaned it self with propelling force.
He would take a few brief passes to make sure the thing was indeed dead, or perhaps dead..er. The small plane sputtering for a short bit making small pops and dink sounds. There was briefly smoke as well but no cause for alarm, no cause for alarm at all. A small bit of clanking could be heard while the little fuzzy hero was airborne. Likely making some quick mid flight repairs and before one could make so much as a peep the rumbling would settle and the smoke would pass. An the heroic little possum would take a extra pass to wave at the people bellow after slaying the large beast with the aid of his powerful and heroic wards bellow.
He tapped his chin listening in to the radio all the while. The students and the civilians that were close enough to be heard as well. He had eventually temporary landed the Red Baron Jr. so he could communicate more easily with the others. A more eye to level of things was called for in such a situation after all.
"It seems we've taken care of the worst we've seen thus far... I wouldn't stop any of those wishing to return doing so though if you wish. Someone might need to keep the people safe anyway. I'll leave that up to their own personal decisions. But we'll need to make such decisions quickly Boss man. That smoke isn't something only we can see and there's still work to be done." He said tapping his little chin again lightly and readjusting his flight jacket, scarf, and cap. Tinkering as well off and on with his plane making sure everything was ready for the rest of the journey forward as well. "Human foes are gonna be more dangerous too. Not as big and dumb as the meat bag over yonder. We might your command more on the ground Boss man, If rockets become a issue I'll need all my focus in the air given the Red Baron Jr. can't take a big explosion like that directly. I can keep a eye in the sky and scouting but the rest should remain low. So many unknown variables. I don't like it. Not. One. Bit." He said with a snort unsure how to take this forward. Perhaps curious for more feedback from the big bossman. If needed he could have aided angel as well in insuring the safety of the people!

| I t was finally happening! As Angel put the bus down and began to help all of the civilians inside the sound she had longed to hear her entire life as well as the view she wanted to see finally was happening! Instead of the civilians shrinking away from her and her comrads they were crowding around them and cheering! They were even praising their exploits! Angel made sure to soak up the moment just for a moment taking a deep breath through her nose as she savored the feeling of finally being seen as a true hero! Once Angel finished having her moment she turned her attention toward the bus driver walking toward her asking her name and asking how strong she was as well as if taking the van was alright and where they could go. Angel just spread her wings to their full width with a large smile. "I'm your friendly neighborhood Angel of Mercy! I thank you for your praise, but I should not be the one you should truly be thanking! I may have brought you a ride and Paw Might may have cut off the zombie's head, but without the hard work of these first year pros to be none of this would have been possible!"Angel then took to the air slightly to motion to the three first years who had fought their hardest despite this most likely being their first big mission! She then began to clap for them so that they truly got the recognition they deserved. As she finished clapping she silently listened to what the soldier had to say about being shot down thanks to men with guns and RPGs,but also that some of the civilians had been bitten. This worried Angel due to a few horror movie tropes. It seemed things were not gonna be as simple as they all first thought. As she asked who Bura was and asked if he was a pro Angel flew over to the giant first year and raised his hand over his head while hovering above him confidently as she leaned her head down slightly to whisper into his ear. "I know you don't like how some people see us big guy,but every so often we get moments like this where instead of fear and contempt they see us for who we truly are and what we truly want to be the world. In my mind this is just as much your victory as it is mine or Paw Might's. Take a moment and feel it,and then when I give you the signal if you have a hero name shout it loud and proud so that they remember you. Oh and once this is all over I'd totally like to take you under my wing so to speak."Angel then looked back to the people and let go of Bura's arm hoping he still held it high and proud. "He's not a pro yet everyone, but I assure you that he is on the fast track to becoming one! I'll let him introduce himself as without him and his young female friend helping Paw Might I would not have been able to get you your ride to safety! This is their moment! If on the way to U.A. you become frightened just remember these words I am about to paraphrase from our fuzzy pro friend! We are here!"Once all the civilians were squared away fully Angel flew back over to the bus driver and grinned at her hearing the principal ask Paw Might to help Angel give her information. This was all the reminder she needed and so she gave the bus driver a thumbs up. "When you arrive to U.A high use a phone to call the public safety commission, and tell them that during a crisis situation the third year hero The Angel of Mercy had to borrow a civilian vehicle. Once you do that give them the licence plate number, and they will see that it is returned to it's proper owner! Drive safe now!"Angel then in a quick dash of flight speed made her way back atop the bus and landed gently next to the principal as he offered to allow the students to return to the school with the civilians if they were too afraid or weak to continue. Angel just gave him a confident grin and a look of determination. "I'm with you guys until the end of the line sir. I'm not stopping until this mission is complete. You have my word. A couple punks with guns and rockets can't stop what they can't hit after all!"Angel then leaned in and whispered into her Principal's ear softly. "I heard something about people being bitten? I know a bunch of stuff might be need to know, but are you certain we aren't operating by zombie movie rules? We can't have a bus full of zombies driving into the school."As she waited for an answer she turned toward the soldier "Once you are all bandaged up Sir would you like a gentle air lift down?"Despite the cheerful disposition and cheerful grin she was keeping on her face Angel knew one thing to be true. This was going to get worse before it got worse. |

Hinata wasn't going to admit he was intimidated by the behemoth. But it was very unsettling how it howled with the voices of several people. But Bura kept standing against the behemoth for the protection of these civilians. Despite the pain he was feeling, which was slowly ebbing away as his quirk started to kick in and heal his wounds bit by bit.
But thanks to everybody's efforts- The Behemoth was taken down. Perry took it down by slamming his small plane into the beast's head. But if it wasn't for Yuhiko's distraction, his knocking it out of the path of the bus-and Kyouko's dedication of tying it up, Bura let out a shaky sigh. That was intense and scary.
But Bura took in a deep breath and looked determined once again after a moment of hesitation. Bura walked over to shaken Kyouko and asked the girl- "You were astonishing Kyouko, that was so scary-but you-you protected me-Thank you, Kyouko." Bura thanked the girl with a sheepish smile as he lifted a hand for the girl to grab onto so he can hoist her up so they can make their way to the others.
Once Kyouko got up, Bura made his way to the bus to the civilians who all appeared to be in high spirits, and there was a van Bura didn't quite remember being here before. Suddenly he heard clapping- coming from the Angelic student. Which caused Bura to blink a little bit as he tried to register what she was doing. And suddenly she flew over to him and lifted his hand over his head- it was at that moment he realized how strong the girl was- his arms aren't light by any stretch of the imagination.
Angel spoke up, and -what? Bura was a little confused by what she was saying. Did she notice he was upset about the people in their homes earlier, oh, she must've assumed it was due to his quirk that she thought he felt that way. Honestly, that didn't cross his mind, he was more upset at how scared they were than anything else.
Bura sheepishly chuckles and said-"It wasn't all me Angel senpai- it was all of us-me Kyouko, Yuhiko, you, and Pawmight- if you guys weren't here I'd be in serious trouble," Bura modestly spoke as he scratches the back of his head with his free hand. His other hand was still high up in the air. And when Angel kept speaking, he felt his cheeks pinken a bit from the praise. Bura smiles and waves at the EMT and the others as he started to make his way to help them into the van by carefully scooping them up and gently carrying them to the van. Bura spoke as he helps the hurt people into the van-"I am Burabura Buruburu of class 1-A, but my hero name will be Minotaurus, and I'm so glad you are all safe." Bura's voice reveals his age to everybody here-that he is still just a kid despite his large size.
As Bura helped the last person into the Van that didn't need immediate medical aid, Bura listened to the principal's plan and told the group if they wanted to go back they can. Bura shakes his head and says- "No, I already got this far- I won't turn back now- not until we can help stop this mess from spreading any more- If I can play even a small part to fix this whole thing I will play my part." Bura brightly says with a smile and a pump of his fist in the air to hopefully inspire the group or at least lightened the mood.

♔Seeing the civilians all cheery and relieved, Yuhiko simply crossed his arms and nodded once. If someone for some reason decided to look at his face and stare very carefully, they would have maybe been able to catch the faintest hint of a smile forming for a bit less than a second. Yuhiko did not see it as a big deal. After all, he was just following orders, keeping these civilians safe and nothing more. Still, even one as serious and no-nonsense as he could not deny that it felt good to do good. Not that he would ever admit it in front of everyone else. As far as he was concerned, there was no need for anyone to notice that he was in fact very much capable of showing emotion.
Unlike some others, Yuhiko was not taking the time to celebrate. In his opinion, it was nothing more than a waste of time that could be better spent doing something productive. There was still so much to do. In his opinion, only a fool would completely relax right now. First was the EMT. The instructions were straightforward, and Yuhiko did everything he could to the best of his ability. Opening the medical kit and bandaging the EMT's leg, wrapping it very tightly as instructed. After that, it was time to help move the civilians to the vehicle, as well as help bandage those who needed it. And unless someone else helped with splintering the soldier's leg, Yuhiko would assist with that as well. Naturally, Yuhiko refused to do anything less than perfectly. After all, he was a Yuzuki, and no true member of the Yuzuki family would ever allow themselves to accomplish any task with anything less than absolute perfection.
Upon hearing the EMT's worries, Yuhiko addressed his words while still focusing on his current task. "Don't worry about my fellow students. As heroes-in-training, we are expected to be able to handle any situation. They'll be fine." Or at least Burabura and Kyouko had better be fine. They were on a mission, after all. Weakness was no excuse, nor would it be tolerated. Not that Yuhiko needed to worry or care. If they really were incompetent, they would have not lasted this long. Despite his indifference towards the others, Yuhiko at the very least had enough reason to believe that those two would have what it takes to endure. Maybe even continue to endure. Not that he really cared one way or the other what happened to them.
Upon hearing the Principal's words, specifically the part telling the students they could turn back if they wanted to, it took every fiber of his being to not scoff aloud. As if anyone here were that stupid and cowardly. "If anyone here wanted to turn back, then they should have never attended a school like UA to begin with. No true hero or hero-in-training would turn away from their duty. You have my assurance that I will personally do everything in my power to carry out the mission successfully, sir. Failure is not an option, and neither is cowardice. Though I doubt that anyone here doesn't understand that." He then took a brief moment to stare at the other students, as though daring them to prove him wrong and try to run with their tail between their legs.
Of course, things would not be easy. Whoever believed otherwise was probably delusional. Yuhiko did catch the part about human involvement. This was no surprise. With all the zombies running around, it would be easy for anyone to forget that the living were just as capable of acting like uncivilized troglodytes, if not more so. But no matter. Regardless of who tried to get in the way, Yuhiko was determined to not let anything or anyone get in the way of the mission. Success was the only option.

Saving Private She was running out of time she wasn't skilled enough to take care of a creature like this at her current level. Kyouko wanted to see what the others were doing, but she was too vulnerable right now with her eyes closed. What if she wasn't helping and Bura was taking more damage? What if Bura was in danger? Could she protect her big fluffy boy? If she was honest she doubted it, but she could try, right? Also, how were Angel and Yuhiko handling things on their end? While she knew Yuhiko could handle himself she knew nothing about Angel's abilities. Sure she was a third-year, but age didn't mean much for all Kyouko knew they could be on the same power level. Hopefully, Paw-might would be able to keep the team afloat.
Speaking of Paw-might apparently, he did keep the team in the winning circles as he destroyed the monster and though Kyouko didn't see it the fact her hair went limp told her the beast was dead. There was no more pain and despite some tears coming from her face already the pressure from her hair was gone now. Though now she had a throbbing headache from the ordeal so that was something she was going to have to deal with. Retracting her hair and regaining her composure she began massaging her temples and pulled out a brush from her bag to comb out any knots or split ends she got from the battle. Keeping her hair healthy was important to her quirk abilities so every moment she could she made sure it was in decent condition.
Bura approached her as she was coming a very heavy knot in her hair. He thanked her for helping her and she blushed slightly. She hadn't been praised for her quirk before so it was nice to feel appreciated even a little bit. "If it wasn't for your confidence Bura I might not have been able to help you," she smiled at him, despite the tears still drying on her face, "Besides you took the full force of his attack so if anything I should thank you for making sure he never turned his attention to me." Kyouko could have only imagined how much danger she would have been in if not for him. She probably would have died or had to resort to hit and run tactics.
When she was ready she walked over to the civilians with Bura looking probably a bit worse than he did due to his regeneration quirk. Then Angel raised Bura's arms and praised him for his deeds to the crowd and though Kyouko agreed he deserved the praise the fact Angel made her seem like an afterthought stung a bit. Sure Kyouko was never here to get famous or anything, but even just a tiny bit of praise from the older student would have been nice. Oh well, not much she can do about that now though. It seemed Bura had her back though as he told Angel they all helped out. This put a bit more of a smile on Kyouko's face. He was such a good guy and she was lucky to call him her friend. Kyouko decided she would make sure he became a great hero someday even if it meant she could never be one herself.
As Bura was helping others onto the van Kyouko would introduce herself to the civilians quickly after him herself. "I'm Kyouko Kaminoke of class 1-B and I will do my best to ensure your safety for as long as I can." This might be a bit of a moot point since they had their mission and objective to attend to, but it was the thought that counted right? Then the principal said they could go back if they wanted and a tiny bit of Kyouko felt she didn't belong with this group of strong students. What if she only hindered them from doing their tasks? What if she made a mistake? Could she live with herself if someone got hurt or worse killed in the process? She wasn't sure if she could do that especially if Bura was the one who the subject in this thought.
Luckily for Kyouko her classmate Yuhiko brought up very valid points and in a very smug way. Honestly, she didn't care for the boy and while he was smart he certainly lacked finesse when it came to speaking that was for sure. Despite this, she knew this was his way of motiving the group to continue forward. Though she would have loved to punch him in the face at this moment especially when he glanced over at them after speaking as if insulating any of them would quit. Sure Kyouko didn't have the full confidence in herself and her abilities, but there was one thing she did have and that was stubbornness. Especially when it came to people who talked down on her. She would not let Yuhiko's smug attitude and condescending tone bring her down. No, she would prove to him she was a capable student and that his stuck up classists' attitude would not fly here.
Kyouko of course wouldn't bring up his attitude in this situation as it would be very inappropriate for her to do so especially in front of the civilians and the principal. She would have to bide her time a bit longer to unload the bomb on him. The truth about her family and her status as a person. She kept her family a secret to all the other students and since she was born under her father's name keeping her mother's family a secret was even easier. There would be no way he would be able to predict her history and she couldn't wait to see his shock when she confronted him. For now, the focus was the mission though as for their next obstacle Kyouko could only pray she could be of more use than she was this time. ulla Kobayashi

Private Ohashi grimaced in response to Angel’s offer to carry him, sitting straight up, and trying to climb to his feet on the back of the bus. As he rose, his face went pale, and his legs shook, his jaw clenched tight with strain.
Kobayashi reached out, and with gentle, but utterly indisputable strength, shoved the Private back down, a frown on his face.
“Enough, private. You’re not impressing me by hurting yourself. These people still need your gun.” He said softly, a hint of frustration behind the words. Kobayashi sighed, then reached into his belt, pulling out two more pistol clips of ammunition, handing them over to the soldier. “Angel, put him in the passenger seat.”
As the last civilians were loaded into the van, Kobayashi jumped down from the bus, and gave a grateful nod to Private Ohashi, the EMT, and Perry and the Hero Students.
“Drive fast. Be safe. Good luck.” Kobayashi ordered, as seriously as ever.
The EMT nodded, revving the van’s engine, while Private Ohashi, freshly set into the passenger seat by Angel, loaded his pistol with fresh ammo.
“Thank you all! Come see us when you get back! Gods, this is going to be a story…” The EMT called out, waving to the group of heroes. Then, the van sped off into the night.
Kobayashi turned to Perry, waving to the students to come close as well. With the civilians and soldier gone, he looked much grimmer.
“A rocket. I hope he was mistaken, and it’s simply an unknown zombie.” Kobayashi said flatly. Each word sounded reluctant, like he’d rather not be talking about this anyone, but some sense of duty compelled him to. “You’re right, Paw Might. Humans are more clever than these...husks.”
He stood up straight, looking at the smoke from the downed helicopter, and was silent for a moment, face frozen in a scowl. Then, very, very softly, he continued in a flat monotone.
“Jubei.” Kobayashi growled. “One of the PSC’s most elusive enemies. A rumor among the military and police. A secret organization composed of high-ranking members of the Japanese Government. Maybe even members of the Diet. We suspect they were the masterminds behind the training camp massacre two years ago, when UA was founded.
Kobayashi shook his head, hand resting on his pistol at his belt, tapping on the holster. “Their name comes from the childhood nickname of Akechi Mitsuhide, the Daimyo who betrayed Oda Nobanaga. Like him, I suppose they see themselves as carrying out a dishonorable, but necessary service to restore tradition.”
Kobayashi shrugged, his eyes hooded in shadows. He looked tired again. Very, very tired. He probably wasn’t much more than thirty, but was already going grey at the temples. “Don’t tell anyone what I just told you. They’ll change their name and symbols if they’re exposed. Go underground. And it will start a panic. Witch-Hunts.”
Kobayashi shook his head, reaching down, and gently clapping Perry on the shoulder.
“Well. All of you are still with me. Maybe it’s something else, and I just gave away confidential info for no reason. Onward, UA.” He said, putting on a blustery parade voice. He started forward.
Ten minutes more on foot took Perry, and the UA students further away from Mustafa’s heart. The suburbs thinned, yards getting bigger and more untamed, until eventually, it started to look a little more like the native wilderness of the Japanese countryness. Well. Not quite wilderness. While the grass by the road was overgrown, the yards had turned into neatly tilled fields full of almost-ripe vegetables late into summer growth. But it was closer to nature than civilization. Streetlights ended, and the roads turned from asphalt to dirt, the light of the city fading behind. And above, stars began to glow. Bright, and beautiful, shining now that the glow of civilization had dimmed, untroubled by such mortal things as quirks and zombies. It would have been the perfect night to hunt for insects, or watch fireworks, except--
In the field ahead, alongside the road, the helicopter crash came into view. A black bird, the sort that gave conspiracy theorists nightmares, and screamed “government spooks,” lying in the middle of a field surrounded by knee-high green soybean plants, dark rows and rows of crops a hundred or so feet out in the field. It glowed with burning embers, sending the giant plume of smoke they’d seen from inside Mustafa into the sky. It smelled toxic. Chemicals, metal, and plastic, metallic and unhealthy and hot, spreading a ring of fire around it into the field. Not quite bright enough to start a blaze, but hot enough to burn--to scorch the land around it.
It was in pretty bad shape. Twisted, mangled, a giant chunk of the tail torn off, lying a good thirty feet away from the main body, warped ends smouldering orange and heat-hazed. Various metal parts, blades and bits of the outer shell were strewn around it in a ring. It was a wonder the soldier they’d met had survived. A couple limp, dark shapes on the ground suggested that others hadn’t.
Others had gotten here before Perry or the students. Dogs, sniffing among the wreckage. But they were too calm around the smoke to be dogs, trotting from warped piece to piece, moving with a weird, hive-mind like calmness. Four of them in all. And above, something else was circling, riding the hot updraft from the fire. Big. Winged, but humanoid. It could have been an angel.
It probably wasn’t.
Danger hovered in the air. The field was ringed with dark rows of trees, shadows deep enough to hide dozens of men, if they were still and quiet. There was no trace of whatever had brought down the helicopter, and there was no way to tell if the box Kobayashi was supposed to retrieve was still inside. The crash looked untouched. In fact, it looked too hot for anyone to loot it. But...it was hard to imagine someone would have just shot it down and left.
Something was wrong.
And before anyone could get too comfortable, Perry, from above, could see movement on the very nose top of the helicopter. Weak. A person. No way to tell if they were alive or dead, but something about their movement seemed too desperate to be a zombie. Another survivor? It was waving, moving--for help? Warning him off?
Impossible to tell.

It was a proud sight to see the students standing so strong and proudly together thus far. It was enough to give a old possum a twinge of pride within his little teachers heart of hearts. He was proud as they handled this chaos and were ready to move strongly forward. They stopped one giant monster together but the night wasn't over after all. They still had a plane and safe to get too as they would prepare and push forward again into the deadly night.
When they finally arrived things weren't all peachy. But then again he didn't expect to find a hopeful scene. Sighing as he listened to the bosses cold yet sad words. Perry kept to the skies most of the time listening on via radios. But the dark stoic peace would quickly become broken as more of the undead beastly humans would arrive. Their stench finding Perry's nostrils strongly causing him to feel sickened lightly as the smell was almost worse then their ugly rotten visage.
"We got trouble big buddies, Rotten boys on the edge of the field guys. We gotta kick in gear, How you guys wanna go about this one. Looks like We got a winged one Angel can cover but those doggies don't look to kind! Make sure to keep yourselves ready watch their fangs!" He'd say open to ideas as the danger was rising again. Perry turned in the air firing several sprays of his metallic toothpick bullets trying to wound the creatures of course but his main spray was being used to try and slow down the doggos even more to hopefully add more time to talk. This was starting to get to him a little. The ugly deadly mutants they kept encountering would give him nightmare and that smell would haunt his snoot for years.

| T he time for celebration was officially over. The group was once again on their way to the downed helicopter, and possibly a firefight with actually people. Angel as she did before stayed in the back of the group with Paw Might's little plane with it's pilot inside by her side. As they flew above the group Angel recalled what the Principal had said about the anti-quirker group Jubei which caused her to go uncharacteristically quiet for a bit of the flight as it caused old memories of her time with her slave master of a father to surface. Once Angel found her voice once more she looked toward Paw Might with a rare frown on her face. "By the sounds of it,my father would love to get in bed with these Jubei guys, and not in the fun way."This was all Angel said since they were using a open yet private com channel which most likely meant that the first years and the principal could possibly hear her. This being the case Angel didn't want to freak out the first years with the horror story that was her past, but the Principal would know full well what she meant. Once the group arrived at the crashed helicopter, and were greeted by four dog looking zombies and a zombie with wings as if Angel zombified Angel herself,or cloned a bizarro version of her Angel began to scan the area with her eyes also spotting the broken off tail of the vehicle as well as a possible survivor trying to climb out of the cockpit. The young winged girl knew before Paw Might's plan was spoken what her role would be,and unbeknownst to the group how she would accomplish it. If she would survive the encounter was a mystery and so she just put a hand to the com link in her hearing aid to speak to the group. "You heard the pro everyone. Eyes up! If you get hurt them back, and if you get killed walk it off. Failure is not an option. I know you may be scared right now,but i want you to remember something. Right now you aren't just students! You are heroes fighting for the fate of the country, and maybe the whole world and let me tell you something! The world couldn't be in better hands! I have a plan for my zombie counterpart, but if things go sideways I want you all to know that it has been an honor to fight alongside you,and i'll see you over the rainbow. Remember that if you gotta go then go with style!"Angel then looked at Paw Might with the most confident grin she could muster before speaking softly enough that only he could hear as she clenched her fists. "If I don't make it out of this sir please find my family and a young woman named Miyami Kokuyo and tell them that I love them and that i'm sorry."Angel then without another word used her super speed flight to fly toward the helicopter in a blur of speed to try and get past her flying foe. She then would grab hold of the hot broken off tail of the Helicopter feeling the heat hurt her hands through the body suit of her costume. She then flew for the back of the zombie Angel as she with all her strength swung the tail of the helicopter upward like a golf club as she gripped it as tightly as she could. If the blow landed it not only would probably shatter the tail, but cause a shock wave of force through the air as it sent the zombie upward toward the clouds where Angel would give chase to attempt to deliver another strong punch to keep her foe going upward away from her team. |

Bura did his best to keep up the girl's spirits, despite his fears since Bura can see the dried up tears on her face, Bura without thinking brought out a tissue from his pocket and ever so gently wiped away at her tears stains with the tissue, When he finished up he smiles at the girl and says. "Sorry, I should've asked first, but I thought it'd be fine since you did get twigs out of my wool that one time!" Bura sheepishly laughed as they moved along. [break][break] And despite the other boy's cold demeanor and words- Bura had high opinions of him. Bura wished he could be as firm as he was at times, And other times not really. Bura knows not many people like Yuhiko, and it's probably for good reasons. But Bura always gives people the benefit of the doubt, if they deserve it. Bura let out a sound and speaks to Yuhiko, "We got this far together, we can reach the goal, together," Bura says confidently as the Principal talks to the private. [break][break] It sounded rather serious, especially when Jubei got mentioned. Bura has never heard of such a group, but as the principal, they were elusive for a reason. It was all rather grim and dark to think about- that part of the diet exist to get rid of people like himself---let's not think about it too much. Bura thought to himself-putting the worries of politicians wanting him gone and focus on the task at hand, which is seemingly at the ends of the world. [break][break] Principal Kobayashi asked them to keep this knowledge secret, which Bura agrees with a nod of acknowledgment. It felt a bit heavy knowing such dark knowledge of the Japanese government. But Bura can only do so much about it, so the group decided to move things along and move forward onto their path of duty. [break][break] And what they found next was quite an undertaking, A soybean field with a smoldering helicopter in the distance. Bura was weary of his surroundings, the lack of visibility, the lack of information on their side, everything was so uncertain that it was nerve-wracking. But all Bura can do was his best and keeping the Principal and the others protected from harm as long as possible. [break][break] Bura stayed close to the back with the Principal and the other first years and said, "Guys, stay close, we lack the eyes in the sky of Perry-sensei and Angel Senpai- so be careful of our surroundings and we must do our best to protect each other." Bura says as he fluffed his hair some more in a combat-ready stance to hold off any potential attackers that are out of sight. ✉ tag -- ( @someone ) ✎ 475 words ※ notes here, please keep it short. |

Perry’s strafing run took the zombie hounds off guard. They jerked into motion as the whirr of the tiny plane’s engine rose above the crackling flames, heads turning in weird, hive-mind like unison. But even if they sensed a threat, they weren’t fast enough to dodge or react. A hail of needle-like bullets stitched into the closest hound to the road--it stumbled, falling, maybe crippled, or maybe just stunned, while the second stumbled back, jerking its head back and forth and biting at the air like it was being attacked by insects. The others gave chase to the plane, running after it open mouths, hopelessly bound to the ground.
Above, the stitched-wing angel was faster on the draw, and more suited to fighting an airborne enemy. Still partly hidden in the plume of dark, flickering smoke from the helicopter, it started to dive toward Perry’s plane, wings creaking like dry leather.
Angel was already set on an intercept course, however. Fast as moonlight over water, she blurred toward the helicopter.
The stitched-wing zombie angel broke from the plume of smoke, diving like a hawk toward Perry, visible in full at last. It was an ugly creature. Dead, definitely. Some sort of experiment, and a particularly sadistic one--not one creature, but two, the first, a shrunken man with giant, leathery bat wings, the second, a leather-armored man with jagged metal blades in place of his arm. They’d been bound to each other with giant metal nails, the torso of the bat skewered onto that of the swordsman. Loki--or one of his minions--had a taste for “bodybuilding.”
As Angel reached the fallen blade of the helicopter, she also got a look at the man waving atop the helicopter. He looked like a soldier. And he was definitely moving like he was alive. Waving for...help, but not talking? There was something on his chest--a fat backpack, with a red blinking light.
Her arcing slash rose to meet the stitched-wing angel. Both lightning fast, diving force meeting rising strength. Sword-arms crossed to block the helicopter blade as it crashed toward her now and--
CRUNCH
Pain spiked through Angel’s hands. The tip of the helicopter blade cracked and shattered, metal spraying from the impact--and--
One of the stitched-wing angel’s arms flew free, severed, the blade broken. It crumpled, a wing crushed from the strike, not diving anymore, falling--into her, knocking her into a spin--
Angel felt blood on her hands where the helicopter blade had cut into her skin. It hurt to hold, and her flight went askew, both she and the stitch-wing angel plummeting into a death-spiral toward the ground.
And then--
WHUMPH
From the treeline, at the far side of the field, a streak of smoke shot into the sky, right into the space between Perry’s plane and the two angels.
Where it EXPLODED.
Fire blossomed into the air. American steel, American gunpowder, American mastery of destruction, wielded by human hands. An RPG.
Shards of metal driven by concussive force sprayed in all directions.
The two zombie dogs nearest to Perry crumpled over, killed--instantly--by the shock of the explosion.
Perry’s plane shook as metal riddled its wings and tale, and a shockwave pushed it into the ground. Crashing, wings filled its holes, engine whining in agony. Maybe Perry could save it--maybe--
The world suddenly goes silent for Angel, hearing aids destroyed by the shock--if she wasn't super-humanly durable, she'd probably be dead. The world spins, not just because she's falling, but because she's dizzy. Her wings are stinging with pain--metal must have lanced into them. The ground's coming up fast--
And as the shock of the explosion faded, speakers crackled, a voice coming from the helicopter. Male. Deep, harsh, filled with contempt and hatred, and distorted, like it was coming from an old, busted speaker, boosted at concert-level volumes.
“Touma-san. Always hiding. Behind the rules….behind the PSC...and now, behind your own students? How low can you sink?”
The Principal's eyes went wide in shock. Fury quickly followed. In a flash, his pistol was drawn. None of the students--not even Perry, if Perry could have seen the man--had seen the Principle like this. He’d been carved of ice. And in a second, he was boiling.
“--Serg--Hitoshi? Leave them alone!” He shouted. And then, he made a break for it. Flat out, into the field, sprinting toward the Helicopter, Angel, and Perry’s Plane.
Grating metallic laughter came from the helicopter.
“Capebreaker. It's Capebreaker."
And from both sides of the field, the ratta-tat-tat of gunfire began, as shooters started to spray at the Principal and students.

Post by Yuhiko Yuzuki on Sept 22, 2020 18:50:09 GMT -4
♔With all the civilians heading out to safety, it was time to keep moving forward. Yuhiko kept a vigilant watch as he walked, doing his best to look and listen for any possible danger. So far, it was a relatively uneventful walk, but that was not going to last for long. In the meantime, Yuhiko was intrigued by Principal Kobayashi's words. Jubei, huh? Definitely sounds like a headache. Yuhiko kept silent, merely thinking to himself as he continued to listen. If a group like them were involved, then things would definitely become tricky for everyone. But were they really the identity of the enemy? Or was the threat far more sinister? Or was it merely paranoia to assume that there was anything more than weak zombies in their way? Regardless, it was wise to exercise caution and be ready for anything.
With the group's arrival at the crash site, Yuhiko remained cautious, not wanting to rush ahead when it was very easy for a hidden threat to ambush someone careless. He listened to Paw Might and Angel's words, though the winged girl made him want to roll his eyes. Speak for yourself, Yuhiko thought. Anyone who would think that I would be afraid of anything, much less the undead, clearly doesn't know me very well. In his opinion, the third year was being overly dramatic. Nobody here was going to die. It was far too soon to make such assumptions. Though he did agree with her on the part of failure not being an option. Though for now, he would say nothing out loud. There were more important things to do right now than waste time with unnecessary words.
Burabura seemed to have a plan. Not a bad one, in fact. Though Yuhiko almost scoffed upon hearing the part that they lacked eyes in the sky like Perry and Angel. "Right, though I will point out that I can fly as well." Yuhiko then crossed his arms. "Do you need me to hover a bit and scout ahead for any nearby undead that may be hidden from view?" Though Yuhiko preferred to work alone (not that he had any problem with Burabura, but Kyouko seemed to feel the need to be obnoxiously annoying whenever she opened her mouth), he did not necessarily want the others to get injured. It would only hold everyone back. Plus, he liked his meat shields as intact as possible if things went horrifically south. So if getting this mission done successfully meant that he had to look out for his fellow first-years, then so be it.
In the end, however, the choice would not matter. Even if Burabura or Kyouko agreed to let Yuhiko fly up and scout ahead, he would not even get the chance to rise up off the ground. From out of nowhere, things quickly escalated. So much so that Angel's earlier words no longer felt like mere exaggeration. The three first-years would soon find themselves under attack. And one wrong move meant nothing short of disaster.
"Everyone, get down!"
Perhaps it may come as a shock to Kyouko and Burabura, seeing the usually smug and cold Yuzuki heir rush to them and push them down on the ground, all traces of arrogance gone from his voice as he was legitimately doing his best to get his comrades out of harm's way. He was not panicking. He did his best to maintain his composure despite the rush of adrenaline. But it was clear that Yuhiko was not nearly as cold and cruel as he made himself out to be. He could have very easily left the two there to fend for themselves. Or worse, use one or both of them as meat shields. But no, this would be a rare chance for Burabura and Kyouko to catch a tiny glimpse behind the icy cold mask the Yuzuki heir usually tried keeping on at all times.
"We need to move, now." Yuhiko spoke in a low voice, almost a whisper but loud enough for Kyouko and Burabura to hear him. It made sense not to talk too loudly to avoid making it easier for the enemy to pinpoint their location. "Find some cover to hide behind." Now was the time for action. A plan needed to be formed and carried out. Yuhiko had no intention of dying here. And though he would rather die than ever admit it out loud, he preferred his fellow students not die either. "Once we have a moment of safety, we'll have to figure out a way to deal with the enemy. But for now, we need to go."
Indeed, using the environment to camouflage themselves as best they could, find a safe spot for cover and a brief reprieve. And then plan a counterattack. After all, there was no running away. No, it was imperative to see this mission through to the end. Yuhiko had no intention of giving up, and the others he imagined felt the same way.
