A hearty laugh escaped Kai's diaphragm as Yumi confirmed her little joke. She really did like the idea of yet. Gave her something to hope for, at least; which was probably the exact opposite of what Yumi wanted to impress upon her and she knew that. But she also knew that she focused better when she had a goal ahead. This was just the first time she knew she had to pace herself instead of rushing towards it or she'd run out of steam. That was a very off concept for someone with her Quirk... she'd never had to worry about running out of energy for anything.
The intimate touches were so strange but certainly not unwelcome. They sent little shivers through her, like she was ticklish even though she knew she wasn't. Yumi just seemed to have an effect on her that made her so weak at the knees at even a simple touch but she was so glad she'd become comfortable enough to be this intimate, this close. Her face lit up bright pink at the little peck, giving a sheepish grin at the compliments. This was obviously her weakness, this romance stuff. She may be an incredibly fast runner and parkour expert and navigator but the moment someone kissed her, all that went out the window and she became jelly legs. "O-oh come on, I'm hardly beautiful, especially not compared to you...~"
She gave a few puzzled blinks as Yumi stepped back, already feeling so cold with the absence of her companion's warm embrace. Was she... looking her over? Her blush grew to a deeper shade of red, feeling a little self-conscious. "G-geez... j-just window shopping?~" She tried to be teasing but it probably just came off as awkward, as usual. In truth she was no good at this whole flirting thing, she had no idea Yumi was actually contemplating a lot of important things in her head. But this distance at least gave her a moment to collect herself and re-center. Put out a lot of the panic fires that had been ignited in her brain thanks to that kiss.
That wink, though. Ugh, she felt like her heart was going to melt! "Oh, is that so?~ You might want to buy me dinner first, cutie, we'll both need the energy.~" She had to fight her own body to stop her blush from getting even worse from that line. Not only was it cheesy as hell but there was every possibility she didn't mean it like that. Confidence! Confidence was important! Stick to your guns, that's what they always said!
Something felt so nice about the fact that she didn't want this to end yet... She couldn't help but smile warmly. "Me neither... I could spend all night up here with you..." Kai reached up to scratch the back of her head with a chuckle. "Literally, actually. My Quirk makes it so I don't need a huge amount of sleep, it's pretty neat! A lot of stuff looks better at night, liiiike..." She pointed out towards the street and just as she did so, her watch beeped and the street lights turned on, mixing with the dark sky to create this yellow-orange glow on the ground that seemed so fascinating from up here, like it was the veins of the city.
Of course, she wasn't some wizard or something, she just had a timer set on her watch for when the street lights come on and had gotten incredibly lucky with the timing. Just like that little stuffed elephant from the arcade.
Her heart nearly jumped out of her chest as Yumi took her hand, leading her back to the edge of the building. Her hand was so soft! What sort of moisturizer did she use!? It was insane! As Yumi sat, Kai joined her, even though the metal bars felt very cold against her bare thighs; if anything it felt better as a result. The sun and warmth was nice and all but sometimes you needed something refreshingly chilly. She leaned back on her hands, kicking her feet absent-mindedly as she continued to just... enjoy every inch of her with her eyes. She was so fucking perfect...
Kai almost missed what she said! "Never knew you Hero types to be afraid of anything but... if I had to pick one thing I guess it would be gravity, huh?" She leaned forward to take a look down, nowhere near as frightened of it as Yumi yet for the life of her she couldn't figure out why. Zombies, those scared the hell out of her. But heights? Not even close. Yet as Yumi looked back and said those last few words, Kai felt her heart swell until it felt like it was about to jump out of her throat and her face lit up a soft shade of pink once more. "I-I'm glad! Making you forget your worries is super important to me, y'know? Has been since I realized you were hurting... Is that weird? I feel like that's probably a weird thing to say."
She shrugged, grinning as she looked out over the city some more, leaning over to press her shoulder gently against Yumi's. "I-... uh... t-that was my first kiss with a girl, by the way... Only kissed a few people in my life, none of them women." She couldn't help but let out a girlish giggle, hugging the bars herself now, reminiscing about the kiss. "I definitely prefer it. So much softer, y'know?~"
