Ah back in the field again... it was a nice feeling, even if she'd been 'nerfed' to all hell. With the issues caused by her Red rampage Mia had been kept under strong watch and even now that she was back in the field she knew she was getting some of the more 'bum' work where the higher ups could help it. Anytime there was word of a big crime it was quickly pointed out to her other heroes were closer and... ugh. It was frustrating, but they couldn't always stop her, especially when she was the closest to the crime's point of origin.
Today however, she felt she had a lead on something interesting. She'd heard from some of her rougher contacts in the local police that a new face that hit their radar during the prison break out had been making regular drop offs to an old nuclear bunker outside of the city. Way out even. Could be they were just using the place as a hideout till they got back on their feet but to be going so far out and still coming back to Tokyo? There were suspicions they'd had connections to Ishtar. Afterall that bitch had clearly been recruiting from the prisoners who'd managed not to get caught.
Supposedly, they made their trips down to the bunker on saturdays, so here Mia was making the same trip, driving out with one of the few people she fully trusted after her incident. Who else than Jasmine? ... Well. Freya, Nimue... heck even Mikhail were all viable options, but today it was Jasmine. If she was gonna make moves against Ishtar and try and earn some trust back with the higher ups, she was gonna bring her best girl along for the ride and all. She'd grabbed her usual pick up truck and drove the two of them out of the city. It was a good few hours drive so whoever was making this trip wasn't doing it haphazardly or to just go back and forth between a hideout... Mia had her supicions something more was going on here.
"Hey sorry in advance if my gut ain't right on this one... know I'm stealing a god chunk of your weekend here..." She turned back to the girl and shrugged with a smirk. "Hey, least you can still mark this off as an apprenticeship now that your a third year. Should help you get some extra credit or somethin' ay? 'Sides... knowing you we'd have just spent another weekend kicking eachother's asses or something anyway." Having come off the road a while ago now, Mia spotted the raised mound of concrete that indicated the bunker's main entrance, parking up the truck and pulling herself out, rolling back her shoulders with a groan as she limbered up... fuck she hated being stuck in a classroom all week. Wasn't good for her...
"Outta curiosity... what ya packin'? Like, gear wise?" She gestured over Jasmine. "I mean I know there are kids like Red who don't go for the whole hero costume thing, then there's kids like that curved lightning girl who need it to function... how about you? We workin with anything here today now that they're letting you take the official gear out?~"

Jasmine had been pretty quiet, all things considered. She'd been pretty excited when Mia had gotten in contact with her about a possible gig they'd get to do together at an official capacity, but she wasn't gullible enough to think this would be something concrete enough to put a dent into whatever bad guy they were now after. Nowadays criminals were a dime a dozen and have dug themselves quite deep despite what the government and the authorities would have you believe.
It didn't help that Mia wasn't exactly 100% either, not like that was a slight against the female in any way shape or form. She'd had a conversation with the older female about the events that transpired before and after she'd gone mad with rage and ended up destroying half of Tokyo. Or, well, that's probably what Mia's peers thought she did. Given the people that went around calling themselves heroes Jasmine was under no illusion that they'd try to shelve their number one asset in fear of another episode. The press conference and public apology -- while received semi-favorably by the masses with half a brain -- felt pretty forced and the wolf couldn't help but wonder if Mia was just forced into it.
Goddamn bureaucrats with heads far too deep up their own asses.
Jasmine sighed quietly as she rode shotgun in Mia's truck, keeping her thoughts to herself. Green eyes glazed over the surroundings that were passing them by. It hadn't taken them long to pass through the suburbs, the number of houses in her peripherals quickly lowering until there only but a few here and there.
The wolf was calm and relaxed. Her posture portrayed as much. While many would have been nervous to go on their supposedly first undertaking under the title of intern or apprentice or what have you, Jasmine felt perfectly at ease in her position. Sure, this was indeed her first time enacting what she could loosely label as a mission, but the fact of it was that she was likely getting into something dangerous. That didn't change. That never changed, and it certainly wasn't something she was doing for the first time. Hell, she felt more comfortable than she had in quite a while. Having gotten used being forced to fight just to survive, the wolf couldn't help but feel like she'd gotten some semblance of herself back as she rocketed towards likely danger.
It was like the things around her were slowly starting to become familiar again. Not things that she had to question or try to understand but rather ones she knew like the back of her hand.
A quiet snort quickly followed after Mia spoke, "Be that as it may, I'd've still probably just stayed in my room studying or gone out to train. Or both," she commented, growing thoughtful for the briefest of moments. "Y'know, my therapist- ...well, I say 'my,' but the therapist in our school told me I should probably dedicate some time to procrastinating, as ironic as that sounds. Try to get away from training and studying so much. I doubt he'd consider hero work to be exactly that but hey, whatever this ends up being -- a waste of time, an actual gig, whatever... -- I'm thankful."
Jasmine had gotten out of the truck after they arrived, eyes immediately moving the scan the surrounding area as if on some kind of defensive instincts. Information was half the battle, and whether or not this ended up being an actual battle, she'd still rather be safe than sorry.
She quirked a brow after Mia's question, glancing at the female a little curiously. "Oh, right," she said, only then realizing that she was, in fact, wearing her hero outfit, the the Mk1 Raven. "Not much, to be honest with you."
A hand gloved in crimson rose, "More or less the entirety of my body is covered in armor made out of a mix of kevlar and carbon-fiber. Durable, flexible, and lightweight - pretty much the best of both worlds. Won't really make me invulnerable or make shit painless but at least it won't be easy to get shot or stabbed. That and, well, the soles of my feet and the knuckles on my gloves are all outlined with iron. Don't think I have to explain what that's for."
She zipped up her hoodie and throw on the hood, "That's pretty much it, honestly. Don't really need anything else."
The wolf noticed the mound above the ground, glancing at it curiously. "I'm assuming that's the place. How do we do this? Go in quietly and survey the area, see what we're up against... or just bust down the door, see who we can catch with their pants down?" She asked, looking back at the female, "Honestly I'd prefer the former but hey, I'm not the seven foot tall titan here."

Mia flashed a smile back at Jaz, glad to see her being a little upbeat for the two of them. She was a little surprised to hear she’d been seeing the school counsellor but… pleasantly so to say the least. Mia wasn’t exactly the best person to always be coming to for advice on emotional issues and crap, and while she personally never felt she’d need a counsellor or nothing like that she was never gonna knock people who felt they needed that either. Was kinda admirable in it’s own right aftertall to admit you needed that kinda help… didn’t mean she couldn’t tease Jaz about it though. “Oooo. Fancy little Jasmine getting’ a therapist eh?~” She’d hold a warm grin to show she was clearly just messing with the ashen blonde, ruffling up her silver hair and turning her eyes back forward. “Nah in all seriousness it’s good to hear you’re gettin’ help where ya need it, and hey, if this turns out to be action or procrastination, glad I could help, for sure.~”
She glanced back over the girl working with her and the costume she was wearing. Honestly it was a pretty sweet get up, kinda stylish without being much more than ‘fancy civilian gear’. The visor probably being the only real stand out of the whole ensemble that didn’t come off on any way as just something you’d find at some high end sports store or something. Of course, hearing what it was made of Mia was no less impressed, if anything the way it could probably blend in easily with a crowd meant that Jaz had an advantage Mia didn’t at the end of the day. The simple ability to blend in if she needed to. “Honestly it looks pretty good. Better than mine but, that ain’t a hard bar to rise above.~” She smirked cheekily as she gestured over herself, bandages over her forearms and her chest and some roomy japanese pants she never remembered the name of with a rope belt. A pretty simple get up to stick to her Oni theme and not much more than that. “You can still go boom through the gloves right?” She assumed so, Jasmine of all people wouldn’t be that stupid, but it was worth an ask. Didn’t wanna go in there with nerfed back up.
When they got up to the bunker there was a hefty door blocking their way. No clear hinges and seemed to be sealed with weights pressuring it to slam into the ground. Not an easy thing to open without some sort of passcode and wouldn’t ya know it, the old on the higher ups gave her had been dis-continued, failing as she typed it into the pin-reader. “I don’t think entirely quiet is gonna be an option here… but we’ll try.” She dipped her head to the door. “Think you can give us a controlled explosion? I just need to get a finger hold and I should be able to get us in without alerting the whole place.”
Assuming Jaz could give her what she needed, Mia would slam her fingers into any hole created, grunting, veins pulsing on her forearms and biceps as she tore the metal in either direction, unable to create a clearing the size of the whole passageway, but, given they were breaking through a few inches of steel, they were, RELATIVELY, pretty quiet, Mia holding the metal apart so it didn’t snap or recoil in some way as Jaz climbed through, following in behind her as they trudged down the stairs into the darkness, a few old lightbulbs flickering here and there as the automated lighting reacted to their arrival… but far from enough to give them a clear view of things.
“Well I tell ya what, it definitely screams ‘evil scientist’…” Reaching the bottom floor, a fair few more lights filled the darkness, Mia’s eyes going wide as they arrived in what should have probably been the food storage area for the bunker… instead lines of differing mechanical frames were lined up on old rusted shelving systems, Mia a little thrown by the find.
“… Okay… we either got something here… or Japan was trying to make a robot army like 80+ years ago. I’m almost hoping for the second cause this is pretty cool…” Mia stepped idly forward, running a hand over one of the frame’s ‘head’. No dust clung to her fingers. “…Nah… they’re recent… whatever they are.” She shifted her gaze, the place for the most part was indeed dusty, but there were indications of footprints in the mess. “Head low… look around, see if you can find anythin’.” Mia herself idly began to examine the lines and lines of frames. Some seemed brand new while others looked hella fucked up, suffering what looked like bullet wounds or even scorched like they’d seen the rough end of a flamethrower.

"Yeah, yeah... laugh it up- Hey!" the wolf complained when she felt Mia's big hand on the top of her head. Christ she swore every time the large woman did that it was a miracle Jasmine hadn't been flattened into the ground... let alone how much of a mess her hair ended up being after it. She sighed and smiled later, though, despite any bitching. "Yeah. Thanks," she said, voice somewhat quiet, yet warm and genuine.
"Thanks," she responded. "And I mean, hey, not like you need much given your quirk and how you fight. Honestly I couldn't come up with a better 'I'm a badass who will crush your skull with her bare hands' type of look that you got going." Jasmine gave Mia a quick once over. The wraps on her arms really did make her seem all the more intimidating. "Plus I feel like you wouldn't be you if you went and fancied up just to look fancy, y'know?"
"Alright, give me a sec," Jasmine said before walking up close to the large steel door. She pushed her hand against it gently, trying to get a sense of how sturdy and thick it was. She drug it along its cold surface, slowly downwards until she got into a crouch. The wolf hummed to herself, having come up with an idea of how much force she'd have to use to do exactly what was asked of her. Nodding to herself, she placed her left hand on the door for support up above and the thumb of her right against the door.
She stuck out her tongue and bit on it gently as she focused. Flickers of energy began coursing down her arm and focusing on her fist, finally centering on her thumb. "Here we go..." The explosion was quiet. Muffled. Strong, yet small and focused. Thump. Once. Thump. Twice. Thump. Trice. Thump. Four times. Thump. Five. Then, she'd switch to the other side and do the same, creating five holes, ten in total, large enough for Red Horn to be able to squeeze her fingers inside and get a good grip. "All yours."
Jasmine was actually a little surprised how delicate the Oni could be... even if we were talking about ripping massive steel doors off their hinges.
The wolf prowled into the darkness once the Pro had done the deed, snorting at her comment. "Man, I hope they have some super secret guns in there. I'd love to get my hands on some high-tech shotgun type of thing," she'd comment idly, maintaining the light air the two females had managed to create. Yet despite the quiet banter, her eyes were wide open, gradually adjusting to the all encompassing darkness, broken through only by a few dim lamps scattered about here and there.
The frames were definitely a sight. Not one that she was expecting, though. It got her curious.
"Cool's an understatement," Jasmine, urged by her techie side, couldn't help but walk up to inspect one of the frames. Recent indeed, and fairly high-tech. Definitely above the level she'd seen U.A.'s students capable of. Titanium alloy protecting a wide array of electronics too high a level for Jasmine to be fully able of reading. She frowned as she inspected them, realizing just how far she still had to go. Regardless, the question still remained: what the fuck were they looking at?
"On it," the wolf vaulted over the railing and quietly blazed her way into the darkness, landing in a crouch. Emerald eyes shifted their gaze a few times, inspecting the area in all of its glory... what little she could actually make out in the darkness, anyway. More frames. A whole lot of them, lined up against the walls in rows. There were a few desks scattered about, old paperwork sprawled across its surface. Plans. Designs. Some were of the robots themselves, others were of weapons, and the third... what the fuck was this supposed to be? A brow quirked, she shuffled whatever she figured was of note into her hands, neatly folded it and stored away in her pocket. If not evidence against something, this would certainly end up being some good study material for later.
"More dust and droids. You got anything?" She'd ask, her voice a whisper, yet loud enough for Mia to hear.

Mia chuckled as the two talked about their costumes, looking over herself briefly and flexing her arms as she stretched them behind her head, feeling a little more confident thanks to those compliments about her look. “Yeeeeah I guess if I oversold it I’d just end up covering up more of this beastly physique huh?~” She teased back with a cheeky smile, starting to stretch her arms across her torso, a few cracks coming from their neck as they rolled it across their shoulders. “Definitely not my style… to be fair its still more than my vigilante days though. I just wore hoodies and shit and they got torn to fucking shreds every fight!~”
Mia’s brow quirked up a bit as she rested beside the door, kinda impressed with how precise Jaz could be with her quirk. Sure she used it as a way to fucking fly so Mia shouldn’t really be surprised but… damn. Mia didn’t think she’d ever be able to manage that level of precision with all of her brute force. Someone had tried to teach her proper martial art styles once and she ended up just breaking half the shit, and half the people they put infront of her without even doing it right. This level of precision was definitely not something they saw themselves achieving, making them even more glad that Jaz was here with her to help. “Nice work kid…~”
Down in the belly of the beast Mia was feeling bad she didn’t think to bring a flashlight but in an emergency they could probably get Jaz to… er… blow something up to.. make light? Okay they definitely needed a flashlight but the point stood that this was definitely one hell of a cool place. Villain or no this was only the sort of thing you thought you’d see in comic books. A real life set of robots. No idea if they worked or if they were models or what but the damage they were all enduring told her they’d been through the ringer. Probably in tests or something.
Mia remained on the upper railings, running her hand across the odd dome like head of one of the droids. The designs varied so much it was almost kinda ridiculous… then again, she doubted that making functional weapons of war was an exact science, Mia sighing in frustration through flared nostrils as she weighed into one of the railings. “Mostly just droids on the upper levels… here lemme see-“
Mia walked off into one of the side rooms, something close to an observation room over the warehouse flood, when a hard CLUNK sounded the steel door shutting behind her. The normal lights of the bunker shut off all at once, replaced with dimmer, red lights lining the points where the walls met the floors and ceiling, lighting the place while also seeming to shroud it deeper in shadow. Mia pounded her elbow into the sealed door behind her, but even as she seemed to dent the metal the sound was muffled to the point she didn’t see herself getting through this easy, growling through her teeth as she rounded up to the thick, dense viewing screen lingering above the warehouse space. “HEY!” She yelled out, but her voice was muffled to the point Jaz could barely hear her. “YOU GOOD DOWN THERE!? I’LL GET THIS JUST-!” Her fist met the screen but it barely even wobbled, a second fist managing to create a fracture, but it wasn’t even deep enough to make it all the way through the screen. “GIMME A MINUTE!”
On Jaz’s level… she may realized the red lights filling the warehouse space weren’t just coming from the emergency lighting fixtures….

Jasmine continued her investigation of the area, clicking her tongue at how dark it was. They really should have brought flashlights... then again by now Mia was probably thinking the same thing. The wolf could use miniature explosions as a light source, but given that they knew very little about the area they were in, she did not want to give their position away to anybody. After all, they couldn't be sure that they weren't alone here.
The curious yet alert wolf continued to scan the surrounding area, finding more documentation sprawled about the desk spaces. Several of the papers were of some intrigue, others didn't seem worth a dime. She'd collected all she could -- who know what kind of evidence of what this could be. Maybe they'd be able to figure out who in the world this whole thing belonged to. It seemed rather strange that Japan would have left a place like this unattended to, if this was indeed of their own making. Maybe a villain? Some other faction?
...Ishtar?
The thought had crossed her mind, but at this point there was too little evidence to suggest a connection. She'd just have to keep looking.
"Alright. Be careful," Jasmine responded, still taking stock of the situation. This entire place, while spacious, didn't seem like it was originally meant for research and development of any kind. Based on the many large crates and how massive this place was, the third year would've ventured a guess this was likely a food storage area. So many damn questions rose in her mind she didn't know what to do with them. Why in the world was there a bunker here anyway? A nuclear war shelter? Something else?
Yet before Jasmine could entertain to figure out any of the many questions in her head, her entire body froze for the briefest of seconds. The loud CLUNK of something metal slamming against the floor in the direction of Mia made her jerk towards the Oni's direction. The wolf's eyes -- immediately crimson -- could make out a massive steel wall of a door having separated the two females.
Suddenly, the room went pitch black... before what she could only assume a fail safe of a silent alarm kicked in, showering the whole space within a dim, red light.
"HEY! YOU GOOD DOWN THERE?!" Jasmine's head immediately turned again to the observation area that Mia had found herself on. The oni tried to bust through but whatever material that glass was made out of made that impossible. "GIMME A MINUTE!"
"A minute is probably all you have before shit goes south!" Jasmine hissed to herself quietly when she finally saw it. Red. Red everywhere. Crimson rays of death blinked into existence all around her. She heard it, then. Mechanical whirring. Wheezing. Ominous clanking. The wolf cursed under her breath, realizing that she was surrounded on all sides and in a horrible position to be in. The mechanical contraptions started moving, falling out of their frames in the walls... and so did the wolf, high-tailing it towards the end of the room, using a large pillar for cover to both hide and get herself into a position where - should the robots attack - they'd be coming at her from the front, not from everywhere around her.
Sparks sizzled in between the fingers of her hands as she balled them into fists. Crimson eyes watched from around the corner as they started to take a stand. One by one, the droids stood. They seemed confused, at first... that is, at least until whatever directive they were given finally reached their processors... and every single one of those beady red lights aimed directly at the pillar Jasmine was hiding behind.
The third year cursed again, eyes darting up towards the observation room, "Mia, whatever you're going to do, do it now!" she growled, already bracing for the worst case scenario.

Axel had been somewhat glad for the chance to work on his projects more privately since the prison outbreak. Seeing all that carnage in person had certainly made him question what he was doing. As much as he felt he had a plan when he got into all of this eventually… it had just become a job pretty much. The ideals he’d had when first talking to Ishtar, trying to figure out what they could do for one another, those ideals had long since faded into the aether, leaving him questioning if what he was doing was really right… and in all honesty, questioning if he’d survive if he tried to leave.
Still… at least with some space from Ishtar he’d be able to clear his head on the matter. If he’d just stuck behind his screen he’d be fine afterall. It was just… seeing all that carnage first hand that threw him, left him realing, wondering. He just had to bury himself in his work for a bit and maybe he’d find the right flow, the right way to do what he needed to do… he already had a good, strong contact with the most popular vigilante in Japan so… that had to count for something right?
Arriving at his bunker den, a good long trek from where he’d parked his car, Axel pulled out what was effectively a car-beeper, tapping the unlock icon. The mound of dirt atop the bunker parted in four directions as a circular opening presented itself. He wasn’t exactly gonna keep using the main entrances for anyone to spot him afterall. He made his own way in once this had become his more permanent lab away from lab.
Sadly… today this was also a disadvantage. If he’d taken the main entrance he’d know ahead of time that somebody had beat him to the punch getting here, but he was as oblivious to this little fact as he could be as he started to climb down the ladder into his little den, mildly surprised that the flickering lights were already on… eh. Probably a rat setting off the motion sensors or some-
Axel paused the moment his ‘eyes’ turned to his monitors. That was no rat. That was a very big, known to be very angry hero and… FUCKING HELL WAS THAT THE BITCH THAT MADE EXPLOSIONS!? Oh fuck oh fuck oh FUCK how did they even find this place! O-okay just… if he climbs out the ladder things should be fine they… they’ll find the robots and… NO. They could use his servers to figure out more he had to do a total system wipe, but that’d take time… if he could hyperventilate that’d probably be on the menu right now as he heard hefty steps in the next room. Red horn seemed to be getting close to his office.
Okay. He needed time. How did he buy time…!?
… Army of robots could probably help with that.
Sliding into his chair his fingers began clacking away at the keyboard at near impossible speeds, a heavy clunk as he set up the bunker’s defense systems and a soft hum of his servers as they began to connect to all the frames left in the warehouse. A lot of them would basically fall over the moment they were activated, but he set them up with one simple directive. Incapacitate Organic Life.
He hoped they were smart enough to follow that. They better be. Their AI was based on his quirk afterall…!
Back on the warehouse flaw, frames began to drag themselves out of the warehouse fixtures and shelves. As Axel predicted many would slump and fall over, be it due to damages from previous test runs or just the fact their design had never managed to balance them enough to walk in the first place. Still, amongst the failures many still were able to rise upright, a specifically bronze-ish line of droids, with a single red eye and weaponry attatched to their right arm. Their beam like gaze zoning in on the thermal signatures coming from behind a nearby pillar, turning to take aim as their less-complete brothers dragged their frames along the ground like wire-filled zombies of mechanical design.
With a brief hum as the first of the guns charges, before long the pillar was being bombarded with repeated fire of some energy like substance. Perhaps heated plasma or just some condensed form of electricity. Something deep from the Asta labs whatever it was, not that Jaz would know that. The robots at least seemed to be a little stupid, continuing to pelt the pillar even as it’s reinforced structure seemed not to give, chunks of rock flying off here and there, but it could take them a full hour of bombardment to even try and graze Jaz with one of their shots. All the while the only sound louder than their shots was Mia repeatedly, more wildly with each attempt, trying to slam her fists, her feet, or her shoulder or heck even her horn through the thick glass. Progress was being made… too fast for Axel’s liking. Maybe he should break out the omega project…

Jasmine grit her teeth as she glued herself behind what little cover the old and dusty pillar provided her. Sharp eyes had immediately started to scan their reddened surroundings as the clangs of metal became louder and louder. The echoes of sickening mechanical whirring reverberated along the walls, screaming in a protest of rust and misuse. It almost felt like the longer it took the louder it got. It was a wonder those things were even moving.
She heard it, then. The snap of a mechanized limb snapping in place. The wheezing and beeping charge of energy that dug a hole in her chest. The girl braced as the flash of light temporarily illuminated the crimson darkness around her, her quirk activating all on its own, making her body temperature rise for the occasion as readied for impact... an impact that never came.
Blinking, all Jasmine could feel was the rumbling of the pillar her back was against. Then another. And another. Another and another. A few more. Even more. The number kept climbing and climbing, quickly reaching the dozens, each followed by a flash of light and what she could only assume was a discharge of energy.
Dust crumbled down on top of her shoulder as the pillar had slowly begun to buckle and crack against the opposing pressure. She knew her cover wouldn't hold for very long and she knew she had to act fast. Whatever the mechanical menace standing against her was using for ammunition was quickly eating through the thick surface of stone.
As the volley of attacks closed in on her, she noticed one of the failed robots on the ground - a faulty contraption, likely hadn't survived the fall from its frame. It's mechanical motors didn't anyway. The light on its head was still on... a light which Jasmine promptly stomped flat when she darted close to it, remaining in the shadow of her dying cover.
Whatever those robots were firing at her, the ashen wolf reckoned her kevlar-fiber mesh wouldn't hold up against it very well. It was very clear that they were firing some kind of energy blasts. Whether it was plasma or something else -- she hadn't the foggiest. But what she did know was that risking it would've been a fool's errand. So, instead... Jasmine proceeded to rip the head, arms and legs off of the dead droid. Lucky for the wolf, the chassis of its torso was bulky enough... and rather round in shape.
Perfect for a shield.
Using a bit of metal left over on the inside of her makeshift defense weapon, she whipped up a harness and strapped the chassis onto her left forearm. She needed some kind of weapon now. Judging by how quickly that pillar was going and how much the entire place had started to leak dust and rain various sizes of debris, using her more high-end explosions was likely a bad idea. The whole place would crumble down on top of them. If only she could-
The pillar finally broke. There was no time to think.
Growling, the wolf lunged forward as dust rose. The massive stone construct which she had used for protection crashed onto the ground as she moved, making the already dark area scarce for visibility. Yet what could be seen, clear as day, was the sudden flash fire release of energy. Flames spurred to life, their golden radiance illuminating and seemingly burning away the dust and grime as it shot through it like a bullet.
A loud clang sounded in the area and an even larger explosion of fire followed. The blast itself caused a shockwave strong enough to blast the dust in every direction, immediately granting Mia the visibility she was likely too anxious to receive.
There stood Jasmine, her entire being ablaze. Her ashen mane, once upon a time a bright golden, once again adapted the radiance of the sun itself as it spewed literal fire in every direction. As she stood, tall, strong, and determined, she slammed her burning shield into another volley of droids which were now mindlessly approaching the wolf that was too close for actual weapon release. The impact caused yet another explosion - incredibly small in comparison what the third year was really capable of, yet this one expunged a dazzling torrent of fire that quickly short-circuited the robots in its way.
She'd look up, then, with eyes so hot they left a trail of crimson fire as they moved. The Oni's greeting was a confident smile, "I got this. Don't worry about me and get yourself outta there, you hear me?!"
Yet before she could get Red Horn's answer, the droids decidedly attempted to retaliate once again. Their programming, unable to make them feel any semblance of fear, worked mischievously, making them band together, close enough to threaten suppressing fire, far enough apart that Jasmine couldn't take them out in one fell swoop of her flames... which she had hoped she could do given she couldn't use it for very long.
Daggers of piping hot flame glared holes into the blazing sensors of the mechanoids, matching their irate red with equal force. Some advanced, others prepared their energy weapons. While Jasmine...
Jasmine clenched her fists. Sparks of flame danced around her as her legs slowly spread apart ant her center of gravity lowered. Her left arm rose in front of her, a metallic lump of a shield -- slowly melting away from the sheer heat the girl was exuding - high in front of her.
She smirked.
It didn't matter how many there were. The only thing that mattered was ending all of them.
"Bring it on, motherfuckers."

Mia pulled back her attempts to break the seemingly foot thick bullet proof glass as Jasmine told her she could handle her own ass. Now of course Mia knew that she of all people was gonna come out of this alive but the idea of leaving her there to take on that all alone when the robots started to claw out of their shelvings was FAR from something she just wanted to sit back and watch. She got a strong start on the first lot of robots, wrenching parts from chasis to get a make shift shield going, but still Mia pounded, slamming the blunt end of her own into the wall at one point in a frantic attempt to break apart the dividing wall between them, flecks of red starting to form in her neck as her veins began to bulge and she pushed herself harder and harder against this wall, starting to see it crack.
“You don’t gotta hold out for long just keep your mind set on staying alive down there! My record’s fucked enough without having a dead kid screwing it up any more!” She tried to joke, but she was clearly more on the rage end of things than the levity side, continuing to pound and slam against the glass.
Axel wasn’t too eager to let that happen. In his secluded den watching the security monitors he tapped and clacked away at his devices. Mia’s attention soon grabbed by an in-pour of light from the back end of the room she’d found herself in, turning about with a frustrated growl to see what was going on, watching as the entire wall seemed to ascend to reveal… the mother of all fucking prototypes.
“… Of course I get the big one.” She mumbled through her teeth, winding her neck back and lowering her stance. The robot didn’t even seem badly balanced like you’d expect from something so big. It wasn’t quite the iron giant but it was something she’ll give it back… big obvious weak point in the center of the chest though? Check? One good punch there would probably make the whole thing break down and that was all she could ask for. “Jaz you better have that handled in there cause I got my own problems now! I’ll get back to smashing that wall the moment I’m done so just stay alive ya hear!?~”
Feeling a little more jovial now that she had this big nasty to distract herself with, Mia rushed in low and quick, feeling the searing heat of the plasma shots running past her shoulders. She tried to go in for a slam low against the legs of the robot, thinking the thing would topple over as she shoulder barged it about it’s knee… but the screeching metal made Mia’s eyes go wide, grunting as she tried to dig in her own feet, feeling it halt her advance. The thing was heavy, and knew how to hold it’s ground. The cold sting of metal struck Mia’s side, sending her flying into some nearby storage crates, groaning in frustration as she worked the way up to her feet, narrowly ducking to the side of another plasma blast from the robot.
“Fine… let’s do this the hardway!”

Despite her quite grandiose entrance into the middle of the fray, Jasmine had found herself at a bit of an impasse. Sure she was able to bust through quite a big group of frames with her recently acquired ability but that didn't mean things would be easy. As the descriptor implied the aforementioned ability was still fresh off the conveyor belt and green to any extensive stress testing. The wolf didn't know how far she could push it before she hit the very painful wall of self-immolation and she didn't feel like finding out now.
Gripping her makeshift shield tightly, the third year readied herself as the expulsion of flames from her being began to gradually die down. If she wanted to come out on top of this whole situation she'd have to use Fifth Law sparingly, otherwise she'd just be setting herself up to be weakened and out of commission... and if the frames had anything to say about it - dead.
A quick scan of the area made her able to take stock of the storm of shit she was in. The frames numbered in the dozens and it didn't look like she'd be getting any back up what with Mia now facing what looked like the daddy of all WALL-Es. A number of the droids she thought she had seared the circuits of ended up being no worse for wear either, their systems gradually rebooting as the crimson lights on their heads flickered and they got back on shaky metallic feet.
Jasmine cursed under her breath as they opened fire on her again, quickly raising her makeshift shield to block what blasts she could. She could feel both the heat and the pushback from each impact, forcing her to dart for cover. While her more offensive tactics using her quick were a definite no-go due to the many structural weaknesses around her, she reckoned she could still utilize the unpredictability of Blitzkrieg to her advantage. There was only one question -- how fast would she need to go to either trick their programming? If that was even possible to begin with.
Teeth grinding, the wolf found herself sliding along the ground to avoid a volley of blasts. They zoomed overhead, crackling with chaotic energy which impaled a nearby wall. Quickly shifting gears, the lass expunged a small explosion at her feet as she got upright and leaped forward. Shield in hand, near her shoulder, she slammed into one of the robots with all of her weight and momentum, knocking it off of its feet and slamming it into the ground.
Another frame stood close and reacted at blinding speeds, rotating its torso with a limb outstretched. The backhand was aptly blocked by Jasmine's free right arm, the kevlar-fiber mesh doing its magic to reduce the incoming kinetic force, minimizing the damage to her body. Acting fast, she both ducked another series of blasts and knocked the mech off its feet, briefly spinning on the ground as she went into Blitzkrieg's bag of borrowed tricks. Rebounding, she quickly unleashed a rabo do arria kick she had learned from having studied cappoiera and slammed her heel into the robot's chest, sending it flying into a group of attackers marching towards her.
More plasma fire rocketed towards her from a separate direction, forcing her to dodge to the side via another cappoiera move called esquiva... which she would've done had the frame she thought she crushed with her shield not grabbed her feet, immobilizing her. Eyes widening, the wolf was barely able to pull her shield up in time to block the projectiles, and even then was sent barreling backwards into a wall from the sheer impact. She gasped for aid as her body touched concrete, vision momentarily blurring.
Now on the ground, on her knees and gasping for breath, the wolf growled at the frames quickly closing in on her. She was well aware that having her quirk stripped would've made things incredibly difficult for her in a fight, which was exactly why she had been building her physical prowess for so damn long. Yet there was a big difference fighting humans versus fighting robots. Humans were predictable and could hardly handle anything that wasn't predictable. This? The damn robot already calculated where she'd be borrowing her second move from as soon as she used her first.
Wait, that's it! Her eyes widened a little as the girl froze. Quickly thereafter a small grin spread across Jasmine's face as she stood back up, wiping a stray drop of blood off of her lips. One move at a time... and then improv... she thought to herself, one again taking stock of the situation. She counted the droids one by one, quickly examined what weaponry was in their possession to the best of her ability, how quickly they marched, how effectively their bodies moved, and tried to guesstimate how strong their processing power was based on that previous interaction.
She couldn't help but scoff when she realized how stacked the odds were against her. The aforementioned scoff quickly turned into somewhat of a confident chuckle as she raised her shield and loosened its make-do strap tied around her left arm.
The wolf had a plan, and she spread her legs once more as a result, getting into a stance that allowed her to burst forth at maximum speed in but a moments notice.
They observed, calculated, learned, adjusted and counteracted... so why not give them more data than they could handle and see what happens?

Not good not good not good…!
Axel was helping along his droids the best he could, but while they used his own structure as a sort of ‘guideline’ for their own AI it was nearly impossible to get it working properly, they were far more machine than soul like Axel himself was, able to adapt but not to truly improvise. He could see the quick, harsh motions of this girl really starting to burn at their inefficient processing coding. Most of these droids were failures because trying to run them through virtual simulations had them eat out their battery like it was nothing! Lines and lines of codes they made trying to predict an enemies movements only to burn it and start all over again! He could see all of their displays on his screens, batteries depleting and diverting their weapons back towards the CPU systems controlling them… he needed to hurry up the file burn and get out of here. He set up the robots to improvised weapon protocols and got to work. Some of the servers had already been deleted, so Axel was furiously ripping them out of their sockets, slamming his metal heal down into them and tossing the remains into a pile to be set alight once he was done. He just had to hope the robots could do enough to hold these crazy bitches off.
Back in the main floor the adapting robots looked to their attatched weapons, many of which stopped firing as they focused on trying to keep track of the speedy wolf. A lot of them realized on their own quickly enough that they couldn’t keep shooting, while others became easy targets as they continued to fire guns that lacked ammunition and energy to fire.
Those who had the improvised weaponry protocols got to work though, tearing chunks of metal structure out of the shelves they’d once been housed on, or ripping off chunks of their fallen comrades, cannibalizing other robots to use their own weapons or batteries to keep fighting, firing a little more wildly as they started to give up predicting Jaz, but their motions still stiff and robotic. Behind the shelves, one of the robots slammed it’s head through a glass display case. A weapon, paradoxically elegant yet fearsome in it’s designs dragged from the display and into the robots hands. It rushed to the front of the group, catching Jaz infront of their line of motion, aiming the shotgun barrel directly in their face.

Standing tall and strong, Jasmine observed the approaching machines with her shield up. She had devised a plan of attack for herself in light of what information she had acquired, but... strangely enough the droids' behavior suddenly shifted. Almost as though extra protocols kicked into effect and subsystems took hold to answer her. A brow rose as she watched droid cannibalize droid. Limbs were ripped off, guns dismantled and repurposed, all while the vanguard pushed towards the young wolf.
She'd heard glass shatter but wasn't able to get a good visual through the small army of robots marching towards her. A good few of them had ceased fire on her -- likely running out of whatever ammo they were using. Luckily enough it didn't look like these machines were in tip-top condition. The third year could only wonder what this fight would've been like had the machines been fully optimized and ready for battle.
Suddenly her senses kicked into overdrive. Her ears perked as they caught an irregularity -- a shift in pace. A quick sprint as compared to the usual march. Her body tensed, eyes sharpened. A droid launched forward from within the mangy pack, assaulting her full force. The wolf was staring down the massive barrel of a gun before she'd even had time to fully process what was going on.
Not a single stab of panic was felt as muscle memory reminded her how, why, and when to move. Feet firmly planted, Jasmine lifted her shielded arm as she ducked sideways, slamming against the metallic limb holding weapon. Circuits crackled and metal bent as a limb was torn cleanly in half, sent flying up into the air. Acting fast, Jasmine quickly kicked at the droid's leg, knocking it completely off balance in the process. One cocked back fist and a hell of a rocket punch was enough to send the damn thing flying backwards into a group of machines.
Something had caught her eye, though. Something she'd sent high up into the air. The very same something she caught and clutched in her free hand firmly.
XIV.
Time slowed as her eyes took in the form of the silvery-gold shotgun. Elegant, yet wild. Intimidating, yet at the same time calming. A Perfect Paradox.
Jasmine's knowledge on shotguns was little. Rather, all academic, none practical. She'd read and studied a lot, but never found a reason to actually use one given her quirk. Boy was she now glad she did at least study it. Jasmine inspected it. No loading port for bullets. Energy based? Safety was already off. Obviously. Fore-end wasn't cocked. Moron.
Click-clack. Ready for mayhem.
With a wild swing of her left arm, Jasmine swung her shield at a nearby machine, letting the metallic construct fly and smash against its head. Reacting fast and jumping forward, the wolf quickly opened up fire as she approached in a slide. One. Kickback was manageable. Two. Recoil strong enough to make her adjust her already shoddy aim. Three. Who the fuck cared about aim with a shotgun at close quarters?
An explosion at her feet saw Jasmine shooting herself into the air, a concentrated release of flame below her to set a few robots ablaze. Her hand reached out to grab the descending shield, gripping it by the strap. She spun in the air before gravity took hold and propelled herself downwards with another explosion, aiming her shield in front of herself. Metal wheezed as the wolf squashed a robot below her, landing on top of it forcefully much alike a short-range missile.
A sudden flash of light. Despite being quick to react and raise her shield, a stray shot of plasma had still manage to graze and burn her shoulder, almost fully cutting through her kevlar. Growling, the girl quickly launched herself forward with her shield raised, barreling towards the firing squad like a bullet train. Her newly acquired shotgun quickly wound up hoisted above the slab on her arm, the shield used for support. One pull of the trigger. Two. Three. Each energy bullet cut deep into the larger robot before her defensive weapon crashed square across its torso, subsequently pushing and smashing the frame into the wall behind it.
Instincts again kicked in and the wolf launched herself to the side, spinning as she opened up with her shotgun, unleashing sporadic hails of bullets that kept demolishing one frame after another. With her newly acquired weaponry at her side, Jasmine was tearing through the robots like a force of nature. Metal, plasma and fire were all unleashed at inhumanly rates as the young wolf bounced around the whole area at speeds difficult for the eye to track. It would look much akin to a brightly bouncing meteor wreaking chaos to everything it touched.
It hadn't taken long before most of the frames were wiped off of the face of the planet. One remained, and Jasmine was heading straight for it.
It's systems likely hadn't even recognized how close the threat was before it was too late.
Standing atop the destroyed drone - and a literal mountain of metal corpses below it - Jasmine drew a hard and long breath. Her chest heaved up and down as sweat trailed down her brow. The taste of metal was vivid on her tongue, various bruises and cuts littered all throughout her body burning from contact with plasma. Slowly, she stood up straight, stumbling a little. Her head leaned back as crimson eyes stared at the dark ceiling above for a few moments, taking in the calm of victory.
The ashen wolf took a few moments to compose herself properly. Deep breaths. In. Out. In, then out. A quick scan of the area gave Jasmine enough information to properly take stock of the situation. Every single frame was down and out for the count, minus the few that were still squirming here and there yet posed no threat. Her shield was barely holding together from all the abuse, but it could still be used. The gun, though...
Jasmine lifted the gun up. Green eyes scanning its contours, locking on the Roman numerical etching on its barrel.
"Oh I'm sure as shit keeping you."
After a few more moments, she lowered the weapon and looked around. "But, before that... How the fuck do I get out of here?"

As the wound be titan in the room behind her was having the 'time of her life', fighting for it while finding one hell of a shotgun to aid her efforts, Mia was gritting her teeth through a destructive attack from the titanic droid in her face. A thick red stream of energy burning against the backs of her crossed guard against it, growling deeply through her tusks, her harsh red gaze trying to catch the view of the enemy beyond the attack so she could plan her next move... but this beam didn't feel like it was letting up any time soon, and she could only dig her heels in so deep on a rough, metalic flouring like this without shredded metal piercing the souls of her feet.
"The fuck is your battery...!?" She could tell she wasn't gonna be able to hold against this forever and she didn't favor her arms lasting longer than this fuck's battery. She dipped to the side, giving up her guard and flowing with the momentum it forced into her, turning about as she moved to the side, catching a loose bit of metal scrap off the floor from the earlier combat and chucking it like a frizbee, a blade like PHWIP as it cut through the air meeting her ears with such satisfaction, and a wide grin on her maw as she watched it cut through the red visor of the humongous droid, pumping her well burned arm in the air ahead of her with a cheer of victory. "HOORAH! TAKE THAT YOU BRONZE FACED FUCK!"
Of course, she wouldn't be so lucky as to have finished it with just that. The metalic... 'creature', had clearly been blinded but that just seemed to kick in some emergency defense protocol, Mia ducking as a shot flew overhead, then one to the side. It was still aiming in her general direction but it was like it couldn't get a clear image of her. And it wasn't just aiming entirely blind either. It could probably still see, or was making a visual based on the sound she was making, but whatever the case it could absolutely follow her around the room.
Well... at least it's aim was fucked, and if the sound of shifting glass behind her meant anything this was her chance. Ducking under another shot she burst forward, shifting harshly right and left to avoid the next shot, and the next, and the next, feeling the burn of one grazing her shoulder before leaping into the gun toting arm, dragging it to the floor and knocking the robot down onto it's side in the process. It didn't stop firing, and now Mia assured every last one was aimed at the reinforced glass that seperated her and Jaz. Each one delivering a hefty THUNK as it dissipated against the slowly breaking surface, until finally, in a burst of thick chunks, it was destroyed.
Without hesitation, knowing her partner was down there fighting for her life, Mia wrenched the gun arm away from the robot entirely, rapping her forearm into it's base and rushing out into the main storage room again, leaping down into the midst of the chaos and roaring out.
"DUCK BITCH!"
She landed hard and heavy on the corpses of many robots. Her fingers found something akin to a trigger within the mechanism, and using the last of the energy stored up in the canon, with a massive roar as her shoulder felt that recoil, she spun about, burning down half the room's worth of robots with a short but continuous beam of energy cutting through them like a really thick knife through butter., leaving chunks of them missing about the torso, Mia panting harshly, her shoulder Red skinned from how much recoil she had to endure.
"Hey... you been holdin out okay!?~"

Her breath still a little ragged, Jasmine took a few moments to compose herself. Standing in the midst of dozens of now decommissioned mechanical frames, her shoulders heaved up and down. Up and down. This was the first time Jasmine had used her fire for such a long stretch of time and with such numerous releases. Steam was rising up from her skin as her body heat went through the roof. She'd wiped the sweat off her brow with the back of her fist, noticing her body burning up so much she started developing a slight fever. She could count her blessings, though, as she hadn't gone over the threshold quite yet. Her temperature was normalizing gradually, meaning she still had some fight in her.
Muffled thumps sounded from the general direction of the observatory, catching the lass's attention. As she glanced over, a slight worry for Mia had started to claw at her. So busy with the enemies down here Jasmine had completely forgotten about the Pro for the briefest of moments. Then again, this was Mia. There was no way she-
Case in point, she came crashing through said observatory window.
The wolf's crimson eyes widened as Mia's order finally registered. Yelping a little as she ducked down desperately, Jasmine froze in place as a chaotic beam of energy erupted from the massive weapon in the Oni's possession. A plethora of questions rose in the third year's head. Questions she didn't even know she needed or even wanted answers to. Whatever frames had still been on the walls were all but destroyed after Mia had her way with them, leaving behind nothing but seared chunks of charred metal.
"Holy fuck..." Jasmine breathed out harshly as she got back up on her feet, her eyes scanning the immediate area to take stock of the situation. She immediately noticed the Oni's bruised shoulder and could only begin to imagine the recoil the woman had to endure courtesy of that goddamn railgun. "Remind me never to get on your bad side with weapons of mass destruction."
A few drones had still been semi active beneath their feet. Jasmine had promptly made sure their processors were aptly shut down via a few precise shots from her shotgun being aimed directly at their metallic skulls. "Yeah, I managed. Somehow... Based on that entry I don't think I need to ask how you fared," Jasmine replied to the question, still trying to figure out what the fuck had even happened. Speaking of counting blessings, the pillars that held the damn place up were still somehow in one piece after Mia had gone absolutely ballistic. Though judging from the massive gashes and cracks in the structure, they likely couldn't take much more punishment.
"What the hell even is this place?" She asked as she carefully hopped down from the mountain of dead frames, taking a few silent steps forward as she looked around. "These guns?" She held up her shotgun. "These frames? Saying this shit seems fishy would be an understatement."

"Eh.... big ass robot... wouldn't go down... had to blind it and then rip off it's arm. not sure if it's technically down but... it shouldn't be a threat..." Even with her immense stamina Mia was feeling the burn of throwing herself at that thing over and over while still trying to suppress the red rage. She yanked the canon she'd borrowed off her arm, the sharp metal shards having left her forearm rather cut up and bloody, but gritting her teeth she seemed capable of flexing her muscles till it weirdly suppressed the flow of blood through her wounds. Counterintuitive and hurt like a bitch, but it made sure she didn't bleed out while she used the bandages from her other forearm to fix up the first, still catching her breath as she looked about.
"Looks like you managed to do plenty yourself without me... if they let any of you kids graduate early remind me to submit this shit as evidence why you should." She teased idly, tugging the makeship bandages tight to suppress the blood and finally easing up the tension in her muscles, still a little hard on the breathing but idly flicking her gaze to the energy shotgun. "... Nice weapon... one of the robots have that?"
Of course while the two heroes caught up Axel was in more of a panic than ever. He'd expected them to survive the robots but to get through them all THAT FAST!? Jesus.... this told him he really needed to work on the prototypes more and he DEFINITELY needed to get out of here. Most of the servers were trashed and with the way he made sure to cross-save all of his information, there were likely only fragments of usable data on the servers that remained. He pulled out a couple of hard drives he'd saved the key chunks of data on before rushing for the ladder, making sure to set the self destruct timer on his exit route so it'd close off behind him. Mia and Jaz both now aware of a constant, slow beeping from the room he'd just inhabited.
Mia glanced up to the room she'd escaped, hearing the beeping echoing through the metal walls, seeing it must be the room beside her own. It was clear enough to see the lights of some active computers through the thick glass windows but not what was left. "Seems we missed the real party... you good to fly up there or you need a lift?"
(effectively Axel left behind juuuuust enough for a slither of info to be decipherable, and his exit route will blow up before anyone can grab him)
