You sure you can keep up with a woman like me~?
❝ And there I was thinking I wasn’t the teaching type? A bottle of water in her hand and a smirk upon her lips, as Maya Murasaki strolled up to the gates of UA high school she found herself rather amused both with the prospect of her day and the looks she was getting with her outfit, though in regard to the latter that was simply par for the course when you looked as good as she did. As always presenting herself in a rather ravishing manner, the raunchy raven wore a black crop top and crimson bottoms that were certainly rather unsubtle, and though she was catching the way stares were lingering on the various aspects of her anatomy that such a combination seemed to highlight from behind the screen of a mirror-finish set of sunglasses, for the moment she was more occupied by the recent trend in her habits than the attention she was getting. Maybe I’m just a sucker for troubled kids though? Once more heading into the small city near Tokyo not to hunt for villains but rather in search of a youngster who might just be in need of her experience and wisdom, after the success that Maya had found with a certain troublemaker who attended this little spot to educate the next generation of heroes she was feeling more confident in her ability as a mentor, and as such had elected to branch out a little. Very fond of the firecracker she had met of course and her attempts to take another soul or two beneath her wing by no means reflecting a change in interest in regard to that matter, the dark dish aimed to remain focused on the cute kouhai that she had already claimed on this site but knew a woman like her would be feeling lazy if she had only the one little protégé waiting in the wings, and as such was spreading herself a bit further with no intention of letting her efforts get thinner. And besides, thus far she liked what she had heard about the lad. This one seems a whole different type to Kanna though? Most assuredly taking advantage of the heroic hacktivist that she now called her partner when it came to finding out about the young man that she wanted to meet today, even though she had already received a report on the boy Miss Murasaki had asked for the opinion of the green eyed girl who shared a school with him, and while the response had been as gruff as she had expected it hadn’t been all bad either. Though she says he’s a good guy at heart, so he’s worth a shot? The type of woman who was sure as hell more likely to take the word of someone she trusted over some array of facts and figures when it came to matters like this, with an assessment that ultimately seemed to air on the positive in regard to her second potential ‘catch’ from the school of heroes the mind of the mulberry minx had been made up, and she had headed here for an arranged one on one with him when they both had the time to commit to it. Well, of a sort. I wonder if what else she said about him is true though? More than anything intrigued by the colourful description that she had been given by her prime positioned pupil, though the record she had on the would-be hero seemed to be a little inconsistent that had been enough for her to pique her interest and head out here, and now all that she could do was wait, and wonder. And oh the wondering she could do right now. Muscle hunk meets human foghorn? Sounds like he’s got potential to be a fun one… The assessment of her jocular junior pushing the mind of the pugnacious pro in a particular direction and one she was very familiar with, Maya was more than used to sharing her gym and even more intimate settings with those who treated their fine form like a temple to be worshipped, and she was part of that clan in many ways herself, if her outfit didn’t give that away. And that at the very least giving the two something they would share in common, it was left to be seen if the other terrific titbits she had been told about by the teen would prove true, but hopefully before long she would find that out, now wouldn’t she?

As they said, third times the charm. Kirk had woken up early in the morning, made sure he had a plenty of time for warm-ups, had a very big breakfast, so that he didn't need to stop for a snack anytime soon, and overall prepared himself for the day! However, instead of the usual school uniform, this time he had outright outfitted himself with his hero suit, like immediately going to the thick of things. And in a way he was! It was that time of the year again: Working with heroes to prove to them, that you were truly ready for field work that would follow after graduating! Kirk was taking it all sorts of seriously! ...and sadly for a semi good reason. Kirks internships had all kind of went in an average fashion. He had always got the same accolades pretty much: 'amazing teamwork, good body structure, but very clumsy in something". Of course, they had always worded in a bit more clarified fashion, but in Kirks eyes, that's what they all amounted to. It also didn't help, that back at the sports festival, the pro hero had almost kept on badgering him about breaking those bridges. Now admittedly, that had not exactly been in his plans, but guess that was the big problem: he hadn't exactly taken proper precautions either. The first crash he had pretty much planned, the second just happened to be strong enough to break him through. Admittedly, it did still go well othervise! His pals didn't get hurt THAT bad, but... Kirk just sighed and shook his head, clapping his face to finish it off. That sort of excuses felt kind of wrong. As big folks at the top would say 'priority on NOBODY getting hurt!' That was a problem. If he kept hurting people accidentally, ain't nobody taking him seriously as a hero! With that in mind, this time, he had gotten an invite from a bit newer hero on the block. Her purple color scheme had reminded him somewhat of this hydra lady he had met a long long time ago, and knowing how strong she was, this lady had to be too. With Mias internship, he had gotten a bit more of that big monstrous side of fighting though... Was that a good thing? Bah, Kirk was overthinking it again! Besides, he was gonna be late if he kept doing things like this! After he put his 'ammo belt' of sports balls across his chest, and grabbed his other sports items (a bat, a basketball, and a hockey stick this time for variety!) He proceeded to run towards the gates of U.A! It was time to get this thing done proper! No shame in loss or victory, he would be showing the BEST sides of being himself! Just a little bit more careful version of himself maybe!? YEAH! that's it! With that, he opened the gates, and stepped out... Only for him to have to turn his head around a bit confusedly. Where was the hero to pick him up? He checked his phone quickly... Yeah, it was not like he was early or anything it. But the only person around was this lady in quite regular jogging gear... Hopefully he hadn't banged the door on her or something. He looked at her for a little bit, like assessing, a little bit charmed perhaps. The lady had clear muscle going on, and that had always been Kirks weakness in girls. It was the sort of muscle that Tetsuko and Yumi had. Lean, yet iron sturdy! A bit more slick than his and Mias build, that's for sure, but man did it make a girl like shiny and cool! Kirk shook his head again. Man, rude! "Hey uh, dudette!" Kirk luckily was never the sort to just stand around embarrassed. He had the guts to ask for help! "You seen a hero pass by here, or something? Shiny purple outfit, long black locks, kind of like you actually!" He scratched his cheek, as he looked if he could see a car or something. "One was supposed to pick me up, but I ain't seeing nobody..." Soon enough however, he shrugged. "Sorry! I know how annoying it is to interrupt a workout! If you want, you can just keep on going!" Honestly, talking like this, Kirk probably would have regretted his thoughts a bit more if he knew who exactly it was he was talking to!

You sure you can keep up with a woman like me~?
❝ Dudette…? Sounds like Kanna got him spot on, no? Blinking behind the mirror-like finish of the lenses that guarded her eyes from the sun and so many other things as well, as a large lad popped onto the scene with no shortage of assertiveness Maya did not know whether to be confused or impressed by what she saw, but ultimately opted for the latter with a heavy dose of amusement as well. The corners of her mouth curling up as she took in words, body and bearing that made her feel like she had slipped into her newest gym and was already hitting up the locale talent, even though she her knew that new protégé was still a schoolboy she couldn’t help but eye him up a little bit, and had to admit that she liked what she saw really, beyond or perhaps more accurately beneath the loud colours he was wearing of course. He’d clearly worked hard on those muscles, and she appreciated that more than most probably would have, that was for sure. “Not since I left my apartment…?” Silent for a few seconds as she scrutinized this sporty soul but smirking once she had done so, she couldn’t help but offer a little playfulness as Kirk seemed to ask her about the presence of the pro hero he believed was absent, and as she did so the dark dish licked her lips and lifted her finger to the sunglasses she was wearing in order to make it that bit more obvious who she was. “I take it you’re Mr Bluster then~? Maya, Maya Murasaki~” Folding the shades up and then tucking them into the neck of the tight little top she was wearing before smiling and holding out her hand, after confirming who he was and offering her own name the ebony enchantress resumed her surface scan of her newest student, and found herself once more a little distracted by the bright number that he was wearing. “And I have to say, while I like your getup, Mr Bluster, I’m not sure whether you might want to change it for what I have planned?” Dressed in an outfit that seemed to practically scream “I’M SPORTACUS” at the top of its lungs and perhaps then some, it was very much a contrast to the subdued mix of black and violet that she tended to wear on her own missions, and really could not have defied her more stealthy approach to certain situations if it had tried. “This might not be the most conventional patrol? I prefer to do things my own way~” Not only that the raven haired runner also questioning how well he might perform in the little ‘introduction’ that she had to her syllabus whilst dressed like that, she had particular reservations toward the number of accoutrements he was wearing right now, and suspected they might get in the way when they kicked things up a few gears. After all, she did so love to ‘test’ the new people in her life, and she liked her exams to be as fair and fun as possible…

Kirk was a bit confused at first about the apartment comment. What was that about? He blinked a couple of times, before Maya pretty much spelled it out for him... He had just called the hero he was gonna be working with a dudette. Kirks spine almost snapped straight, as he hopped backwards, a little with a loud "EEEH!?" Before proceeding, To snap his fingers to his forehead and bowing a little. "SORRY, MA'AM! I am not very perceptive ma'am!" Kirk was blushing out of embarrassment! Fricking, first day, and already going this awkwardly! However, when she offered a hand to shake, he did grab it and shake it. REAL proper! "Kirk Bluster at your service, Ma'am!"
The next thing the lady offered critique on, was his gear. He had a whole lot of it. While she... well, had gone pretty minimalist. It was not even a hero suit! "I mean, I thought we were gonna do hero work, so...! Of course I had to be prepared, but, if you say so... uh..." Yeah, it definitely wasn't similar to other internship experiences from before. However, if it was the bosses request, Then Kirk was gonna abide by it! "Gimme a minute!" With that, he ran back inside, back into his dorm room, and proceeded to store all the items back in. Ugh, he really should have asked Maya what they were gonna do today... He wasn't sure if it was on purpose to make sure he was vigilant for the rest of the day, but, it did leave him feeling a bit bummed out.
However, he took it as a slap on the shoulder! Honestly, if he quit here, that would be WAY worse than that initial mistake, right?! Besides, it was not like he wasn't getting what he wanted! The lady was clearly outfitted in clothes made for a proper WORKOUT! So naturally it was gonna include exactly what he wanted! He just needed to get his mood up, and mentally ready to do a bit better is all! Just like in training! Don't give up after first try!
However, when he finally exited the place again, he was still in his hero costume, just without all the gadgets strewn around it! "Ready to go, boss!" He proceeded to warm-up a little by bouncing in place, and stretching his arms over his shoulders. However, he felt the need to justify himself. "Don't worry! My suits pretty much MADE for this sort of thing! It has to be light, well breathing, and very flexible! That and good shoes are always a plus!" He proceeded to give a thumbs up. He was pretty much recharged with positivity and excitement from before!
"Now, what's the stitch, ma'am?! What shall we be doing today?!" If it was not villain fighting, was it gonna be some sort of tour? Maybe a big ol course on the training methods they were gonna be using for the whole internship?! Perhaps they were gonna be running to meet all the lads and ladies working for her! Man, his head was filling up with ideas!

You sure you can keep up with a woman like me~?
❝ “Heh, we might need to work on that, no~?” Smirking at the surprise that Kirk showed to her when she revealed her somewhat obvious identity to him, while Miss Murasaki offered a playful comment about his lacking observation skills, she couldn’t help but feel amused at the same time by how endearing his awkward but sincere energy was to her, which set the lad apart from the usual muscle headed dolts she ran into by a country mile. “I’d hate to think a villain could slip past you with a disguise like this~?” There something so refreshing about that sense of innocence that set this well-built boy apart from the average leering gym junkie and even the young blonde who the black beauty already called her intern, his purity and sense of vigour was something that reminded her of times long ago when she too was a bright eyed and bushy tailed youngster, and she enjoyed that. Even if they looked rather different, they had at least one core quality in common. “I felt it better to get together in a more informal fashion~” Shaking her head and then letting her gaze wash down her own outfit, in all honesty Maya had never been much of a fan of overly formal atmospheres and since she sought to connect with this young man more deeply if felt more natural to her to show herself in a slightly more casual and approachable fashion, with her outfit hopefully hinting at the duo enjoying a more relaxed introduction than most. Never one to stand on ceremony, whilst her hero outfit was quite breath-taking to behold of course it felt as if it would act like a visual reminder of the difference between them, and while a show of authority was useful in the right circumstances it wasn’t something that was always needed, especially when one wished to get to know a person on a more even keel “Heheheheh, it does look rather sporty, even if it isn’t entirely my vibe I like it~?” Sipping from her drink and lifting the shining sunglasses that she had brought with her back up as she waited for the return of the Super Slugger after he had ducked out on her, when Kirk returned and commented on his garb Miss Murasaki returned her attention to it, and had to confess that while the colour wasn’t exactly to her taste the overall design and craftsmanship on it wasn’t half bad at all. “Breathable, supportive, tight… I might have to get something similar made for myself for when I train, perhaps~?” Humming softly as she looked it over and then pulled back with a hand on her hip, almost as an effort to test the water and see just how pure of heart this plucky young man was the perky pro ran a digit down her own form to highlight it in a slightly sensuous manner, and waited to see how the sturdy student might react to this and the girlish tone she added to her voice as she spoke to him. “Nothing too strenuous, nothing that I’d hope the ‘Super Slugger’ won’t be able to handle~?” Flashing the lad a playful wink next when the loud lad asked what they were getting up to and then taking a last nip of hydration before getting herself underway, once she had shot her student a jokey line Maya turned on the spot and started to jog away from him with a bit of a smirk on her face, and a sense of curiosity about how well the two of them might compare to each other physically. “I just wanted us to get to know each other a bit better if we’re going to be working together, and also figured neither of us would mind getting some cardio in while we did that~?” Bounding along at a reasonably brisk pace once she had gotten herself started and blindly assuming that the boy would be following after her without the need or a command, the dark dish shook her head and hair out a bit before glancing over her shoulder to see how he was keeping up with her, all whilst maintain her breezy and easy bearing as well…

"...Yeah..." Kirk wasn't exactly the most perceptive person when he locked his eyes onto something. Either that or he locked onto some conclusion he came up with, and then couldn't change that idea too easily. However, the idea of a villain sneaking past him, had him outright shaking his hands in front of him in mild denial! "No, no, it's not that bad! I bet I would know to check like, if a guy running from the scene was the villain we were looking for or something, I guarantee it!" Besides, being hyperfocused on something usually meant, that if he knew something was up, he would not drop it! And that was a good thing! Well, as long as it didn't make something else obvious pass by him... Ugh, this was kind of awkward.
In the end, as much as he understood why she had come in a more relaxing outfit, it was still surprising. It was like she was on vacation! But eh, it was not like Kirk couldn't say it didn't make him feel relaxed... that and it certainly showed off her figure pretty well, so! Kirk shook his head. Dangit, not that sort of thoughts about a mentor! And hey, atleast she agreed that his outfit was somewhat good looking too! "Atleast it makes me stand out in the crowd, right?!" Although his voice already had that sort of effect on people. "Just wanna stand out as a good thing, you know?" Most of his worries were based on him looking bad while doing something, so it was understandable he put a lot of weight on his image.
However, with him saying what sort of clothing was good sport clothing, the mentor herself proceeded to accentuate her own figure. Kirk blushed a little, and his eyes proceeded to look away, as he tried to change the topic. "I mean uh, your gears PLENTY sporty already you know! After all, it's uh... Open? So definitely breathing and uh, formfitting! Not tight though, since that stuff might, you know, rip!" His hand went into his hair, almost as a reflexive action to try and avoid saying something awkward. "You are about as well geared as you should be for a workout, is what I mean! TOP STUFF!" He lifted up his thumbs with a wide grin! Hopefully that made it clear, that he was concentrating on the right things and not on, well... muscle!
However, with a challenge being thrown his way, Kirk had a little easier time controlling it, even after the wink! "YEAH! I mean, yeah! I can definitely handle a proper warm-up! I am MADE of warm-ups!" He squatted a little, just to show his determination, only for her mentor to get a bit of a headstart on him, with her galloping of at a pretty fast pace! "Oh, we starting! I'm coming!" With that, Kirk proceeded to run like he usually ran for this sort of workout. His knees rose very high, maximizing the effect of each bounce pretty well! The lady in front of him seemed to agree, as she brought up how they would get to know each other better, and that Cardio was a good way to do that. "Good that we agree! Nothing keeps a guy concentrated better than momentum, you know!" Okay, this was gonna be the moment he had been preparing for! She was gonna be probably asking all sorts of hard questions! And he had to be answering them PROFESSIONALLY! He had to keep his mind on the game!
...however, being behind someone running for once instead of at the front, Kirk couldn't help but take notice of how Maya was running. The pace seemed to have much more of a flow, and instead of stomping like he did (for now he excused a bit, since he was lifting his knees so high), she herself didn't seemingly even make a proper impact with the ground! It certainly had Kirk curiously gazing.

You sure you can keep up with a woman like me~?
❝ “Heheheheh, I getcha~” Nodding as Kirk noted the vibrant quality of his garb in a rather resplendently optimistic fashion and certainly approving of that mentality, while Miss Murasaki herself preferred something with subtlety given her stealthy focus she most assuredly did not wish to stifle the flair of her new student, and was also open minded enough that she could see the point he made about his outfit rather readily. “If that’s the kind of hero you want to be, then more power to you, I say~? I’m sure you’re already shaping up as a fine example of heroism after two full years at UA?” Already sensing that despite the partnership they would have in this mentorship that they would be rather different figures in hero society ultimately, despite that difference between ethos the ebony enchantress readily saw the need for people more of the ilk of her student by simple necessity, and knew that variety always made for the best in team situations. After all, a sporty girl she knew that everyone had their strengths, and with the right approach a group could be way more than the sum of their total when used right. “Heeheehee, nice to know you like what you see~” Flicking her hair out of habit when she found her outfit being complimented in a somewhat abstract but earnest manner, while the innocence in the words of her pavement pounding protégé were enough to assure Maya that he was certainly the pure hearted sort she didn’t mind that particularly, and honestly could readily see herself accepting the boy as a cute little brother she never had or something of that ilk given how much she liked him already. “I like to dress to impress in my own way too~” Still, the ego a rather persistent thing and that drive from it not quite quelled by the observations that the loud lad had made, as she jaunted along at a breezy pace the black beauty couldn’t help but wink at her junior playfully and tug on the strap of her crop top a little to tease the teen, before letting it snap back to her shoulder as she focused a bit more on their activity. “That’s the spirit, buddy! Keep that sort of thinking up and I reckon the two of us are going to get along famously~!” Happy to see that Kirk was also managing to endure their little warm up with few issues as well, while she was a bit intrigued with the way he seemed to be watching her motions and perhaps read a little more into that than she should have done the dark dish ultimately found a great sense of approval about his enthusiasm, and perhaps showed that her old habits as a gym trainer had not died out completely as she barked with praise and flashed him a quick thumbs up. “I could see from your file you’ve got the endurance of a horse, so I figured it might be nice to have someone who can keep up with me for a change~?” Yet those ingrained tendencies not all pleasant and the fact that the bulldozer of a boy was managing to keep up with her only pushing Miss Murasaki to try that bit harder to see where his limits where, after glancing at him again and once again throwing down the exercise gauntlet she lurched forwards and began to open her stride up that bit more, increasing her speed to a pace that the average person would consider sprinting that she found all too easy to maintain…

There was something about hearing an actual hero praising your mentality once in a while, that had Kirk a little bit giddy. 'already a fine example of heroes in U.A after two years', huh? With all of his little doubting, it actually made him feel a bit better about it. In the end, what he wanted to be as a hero, was someone people could talk about filled with excitement, or cheer for like a sport star. And similarly, to make his Grandfather proud. And with what he had learned over last year, that meant being what he already was: Loud and proud, yet supporting when needed. And obviously, that's what heroes for him were. A bit loud clothes included. Although, with Maya teasing him about it, Kirk was yet again unsure, if his fashion sense was just silly, or if they actually liked the outfit! "Uh, Like I said! Gotta stand out to get noticed and all that!"
However, with the proper workout starting, Kirk was fully engrossed in his element, and naturally keeping up. If he wasn't, that's when he would have probably been feeling a bit awkward. He had been jogging and running for ages! So needing to just keep up wasn't supposed to be a problem! "All primed and ready, ma'am!" He gave a bit of a salute mid run, Pretty much making sure she knew he was paying attention to what she was saying! In a hero situation, the direction they would go could just change on a whim, after all! He had to be ready for any sort of sidestepping, or a huge obstacle thrown their way!
However, then she mentioned she had seen his file... file?! Okay, that had him a bit concerned. He just had to wonder what else she could know? Either that or if the folks back at school had already criticized him on some things, or if it was something completely different! However, luckily, or perhaps unluckily, whichever way you looked at it, Maya lifted her momentum, as she clearly started moving faster forward! Kirk shook his head wildly! No! Keep in mind what you were just thinking! You had to be heroically ready for stuff like this. "No worries ma'am! All the rumours about me are 100% true! Ain't nothing gonna stop me when I get going proper!"
With that, Kirk lowered his knees a little. Clearly it was enough for warm-ups! His upper body started pushing forward, as he bent his body a bit lower in answer. Classic thing to lower wind resistance. This combined, with him starting to make quite quick leaps, proceeded to make him a whole lot faster than before! He was outright gaining up on her a bit! "But hey uh, if you don't mind sharing, what else was in that file?! I'm uh, one of that sort of dudes that likes hearing what others think about me so, it's quite tempting, you know!" Despite this, Kirk could notice that, as little as he did to change his style up to get into a proper sprint, she didn't do even that much! It was almost like she literally just got faster, with her form not changing a bit! He was trying to make some sort of sense of it...

❝ “Heeheehee, we’ll see then, eh~?” Nodding at the enthusiasm of the youngster and licking her lips a little, even though she was happy to see that Kirk was so excited for her training the fact that she had this prime cut of meat seemed to bring out a little of the devil in the dark dish, and consequently she couldn’t help but long to see how far she could push him because of that. “I might be fun taking you to your limits~” Perhaps retaining an ounce of pride from her days as a personal trainer and that small grain seeming to compel Miss Murasaki to make sure that the lad under her charge had a workout that he would always remember, given how high she expected his tolerance for training to be the black beauty knew that she would need to pull out all the stops to make sure he got the most out of it he could, but expected it would be worth it to see him wheezing and wobbling by the end. Oh wait, maybe she was just a sadist after all? “Heheheheh, well it’s nothing so grandiose~” Tilting her head to one side at the curiosity that her young charge showed toward the information that she had received, perhaps the newness of Maya’s status as a mentor showed as she felt confusion at the fact that the loud lad appeared unaware of such things, but she quickly took the situation in her stride to clear up any misunderstandings that might exist between them. “Just the report that I got from your school here about what to expect from you and such…” It possible that the term ‘file’ might have brought to mind some kind of espionage-esque dossier for the young man and the ebony enchantress only too happy to inform him that it was more a cliff notes reference for finding out a little about the guy, she assumed whoever else had shown interest in the young runner would have had access to the UA files on him, but wondered a little if they would have found their interest piqued by the same issues that she had. “Your quirk, strengths and weakness, the scores you’ve been getting from your classes and exercises, as well as your performance in your internships, and that kind of thing?” Noting the frankly phenomenal physical abilities that Kirk possessed rather quickly but to her mind that seeming like it stood as somewhat of a contrast to the kind of mediocre results he had seemed to achieve when studying under other people, Miss Murasaki couldn’t help but feel curious about what had been preventing that prowess from shining through, and given the fact that she had plenty of theories on the subject was perhaps using this little informal get-together to test one or two of them though. “Don’t worry, there’s no gory details~?” Not that such a detail was something which the dark dish wished for Kirk to know as she edged her pace up that little bit more and wondered how hard she would have to go before she saw him panting, the training teacher hummed with soft and hopefully reassuring words to settle the woes of her student as she amped up his session one notch at a time, wanting to draw out his best before she could think of ways to put it to better use than her predecessors apparently had…

Despite being a little worried about doing well in this, Kirk was surprisingly oblivious to this almost dark aura emanating from maya. All he had heard, was that he would indeed be tested to his limits! And that was exactly what he had been expecting. "Atleast the beginnings clearly pretty easy! Nothing I can't handle!" A bit of a counter taunt, although almost asking for it! "I could probably run like this the whole day if asked to!" His pride in his legs was there for a good reason! He was not gonna be keeling over this early on in the marathon!
But his question about what was in his file, was still what had him a little bit worried. What could he say? it was literally what the teachers thought about him in one handy book! Of course he would curious to know what's in it! The way she explained it, it was pretty mundane stuff. Though of course, it meant that she knew how awkwardly the other situations have gone. "I uh, know that I've atleast tried my hardest in every single one of em!" He patted his chest with his fist. That nobody could atleast deny in the case of the more awkward scores!
Honestly, hearing this sort of stuff was sort of mix of relief and slighter worries. Honestly, hearing that the book didn't have any gory details was sort of a relief... "W-wait, GORY DETAILS!?" Kirk had to blink for a moment, before covering his mouth from shock. "I mean, obviously! I ain't exactly the sort of guy who use weapons that would cut people or anything like that..." Broken bones maybe, and a heckton of bruises, but nothing of that sort. Not that she was implying it, Kirk was just kind of surprised it even came up.
However, their wind up to the proper stuff was still continuing. Kirk could clearly notice the speed of his mentor amping up, and Kirk was proud to answer! But there was this foreboding feeling that something was coming. Of course, he did have his limits. But this was not going to be it. It really couldn't be. But for Now, Kirk could just follow along the best he could.

You sure you can keep up with a woman like me~?
❝ “Ohhhh, better kick things up a notch then, huh~?” Wagging her head a little as her student seemed to brag so humbly about the ease with which he was managing to keep pace with her, Miss Murasaki smirked toward Kirk as a result of this unintentional insult to her training regime, and opted to punish him for it in a largely playful but hopefully useful manner. Initially only intending to increase the pace of their jog to something that would probably leave the boy a bit more breathless but the increasingly tall and close nature of the buildings around them encouraging the ebony empress to take a more abstract approach to her training method instead, after building her pace up to a sprint the sable siren used the boost to lunge off a low wall and then onto the top of a dumpster, but didn’t stop there. No siree. Nice change to see how well he’d keep up with me in the field… Employing all manner of items that others would see as obstacles and the compacted strength in her body to vault from one item to the next like she was crossing a bunch of stepping stones that only took her higher and higher, all too quickly Maya had bounced off the roof of a parked up delivery van and then swung from one fire escape and sprung her heels off another to project herself upward with style and imagination, before bringing herself to a halt once she had reached a rooftop to overlook the boy with a smirk on her face. “No pain, no gain, riiight~?” Perhaps the sudden and unexpected bout of exertion quickening the pace of the purple pro’s respiration but that nothing she couldn’t settle in a matter of seconds, she slapped her hand onto her hip as she called toward her teenage trainee and waited for him to ascend to her level, and once he had done showed a little harshness in her design as she afforded him little chance to rest before continuing on across the tops of the buildings with a grin on her face. “Hmmmm, well your scores weren’t terrible, amazing in some regards really? Like your levels of physical aptitude were off the charts, like definitely the highest of what I saw?” Nodding once they were underway again and initially taking a more sedate pace than she had on the ground in order to ensure that the loud lad was confident enough with their new terrain in order to keep up with her safely, as she did so the black beauty nodded and gave a little more clarification on the reports she saw, as well as the potential she saw in him because of them. “So you’ve definitely been impressing some people?” Holding her tongue a little bit though because of the simple inconsistency she had seen between training and application of concepts for the lad, such a difference had been something that had intrigued the lass to no end and also greatly impacted her degree of interest in meeting Mr Bluster, but hardly felt the sort of thing to discuss too much on a run. After all, he might become disheartened if he wasn’t wholly aware of the facts which had been presented, now might he? “Ahahahahaa, not that kinda gory detail, son!” Left chuckling however when that innate innocence of the boy seemed to tickle her funny bone once more as he responded to slang- based lingo that was probably being encouraged by another emerald eyed student of hers, Miss Murasaki shook her head and even hung her pace back enough to lightly rap the arm of the brick hithouse she was running with, and then gave a smiling sigh as she imagined him tearing his enemies apart with his bare hands because of the mistake in his assumption. “And hey, what’s wrong with people who use swords? Katana’s are cool as hell, right?!” Not every detail seeming to find amusement in the amazon though and his apparent aversion to edged weaponry something that the dark dish couldn’t help but take a small but playful issue with, the rowdy raven was left wondering if her pupil knew that she was well known for carrying a sword on her back when she went about her business or not, but guessed that if he did he was about to be a little embarrassed about the denouncement he had shown toward what she considered to be one of the most beautiful and graceful art forms there was; Japanese swordsmithing.

Kirk actually flinched a little at Maya smirking at him. Maybe it was the timing of him chuckling right before. "...I mean if ya want to!" Telling your boss no after they said something like that usually meant a ruler right to your knuckles. Her speed rose again, Kirk needing to work way harder to keep up. But that was not the only thing she did! With that speed, she seemingly changed it up a little, as she first landed on a trashcan... and then proceeded to do all sorts of things pulled straight out of the comics! Bouncing from one thing to the next, getting higher and higher, with Kirk quickly falling behind! "YEAH! NO PAIN NO GAIN!" He said loudly and a bit awkwardly, punching his fist into his hand. He just had to get up the building! And with his teach smacking her backside, it was clearly a bit of a taunt if he could do it!
Now, for this sort of situations, Kirk typically used his pouch to gain a ton of height, and would then proceed to just grab the highest spot he could reach, finishing it off with a bit of a walljump. Usually that was enough. However, when it came a big building like this, well... Kirk had to look for a target to try to use to his advantage. "Okay, there!" A simple drain pipe, leading straight up the building! He proceeded to fall on his back from the run, and launched himself towards it, grabbing onto it. But the pipe answered with a scary metallic creak! "UH! UHM! S-SORRY!" Yeah, drain pipes weren't exactly made to handle 90 kilograms of grown man putting their entire weight on it! Quickly like a monkey, he proceeded tried to kick and launch himself further into the air, to reach the top of a simple terrace only for a second! "NO WORRIES, just here for a second!" He slowly climbed onto it, and proceeded to continue with his efforts upwards. He would have probably othervise launched from the terrace with his pouch, but he was scared he would break it!
Ugh, why did walls have to be so flat with not a lot of things to grab onto! Luckily there was a flagpole, and from there, he could acrobatically swing himself into the air, into a quite expert landing, as he huffed a little. "Okay... there we go! Good job, right?" But as he looked towards Maya, she had already sprinted forward to jump onto another building. "HEY WA-!" Wait? Really? "I mean, ON MY WAY!" Luckily, the roofs were a bit better about this stuff. Besides, jumping from one roof to the other was pretty much what any sportsman could do, even without a pouch! You just needed to know how to land properly!
Honestly, with this sudden change in pace and actions, the praises Maya was saying almost felt like tiny jabs to his pride! "Hell yeah they are!" Like a boy in army being whipped to shape, he felt like he still needed to defend himself. "Wouldn't have made it this far if I WASN'T impressive, you know?!" Okay, calm your breathing a little. You are losing your temper! And temper just makes things harder to do! Besides, atleast he was keeping up with her still! Somewhat! heck, she seemed to slow down and punch his arm in a friendly fashion, so he wasn't doing too bad! "Stuff just feels a bit more fragile than in the training rooms, you get me?" He just never got used to that too much. This lady seemed to have a very good way with her legs to make it so, that even heavy maneuvers didn't really leave that much of a mark on what she touched. Meanwhile, he was kind of lumbering around like a maniac.
Perhaps fittingly, Maya asked why he had a problem with sharp weapons. Kirk momentarily shrugged. "I mean, you're telling me! One of my best bros uses swords!" Or well, mostly dulled ones to not cause actual harm. But still, similar effect. After a brief hop from one building to another he continued. "But, you know, If I got my arm or something cut off... I would feel completely gimped! Just imagining it is sort of scary!" He gave a pretty serious looking glance towards her. "I wouldn't even wish that on my enemies, moving freely and effectively is a basic right!" It was a weird way to look at it. But with his grandpa being a cop, there was also another reason. "Besides, heroes ain't exactly killers, am I right? With sharp stuff like that, accidents would happen!" Just imagining carrying a sword in his pouch and accidentally gutting himself with it was kind of scary. A silly fear, taking that most knives probably wouldn't stick to him anymore, but still.

You sure you can keep up with a woman like me~?
❝ “Heheheheh, well you’re doing a good job of improvising, buddy~” A cruel mistress when she was in workout mode but certainly far from an unforgiving one, Maya could see the way that her stout student struggled to keep up with her effortless aerial grace and wasn’t surprised by it one bit given the difference in their frames, and as such was happy to see that through determination and creativity he managed to find his own way up to her all the same. She respected people who had grit more than anything else. “Yeah, the training rooms are made to hold up to more mistakes than these kind of places, but unfortunately, you don’t tend to have to haul tail after a villain or toward an emergency through something built to last?” Nodding as she continued on at a pace just zippy enough to put an ounce of pressure on the loud lad without forcing him to overextend himself and end up doing some harm, the dark dish cast her shiny shades over her shoulder and agreed with his sentiment that the real world was a bit more delicate than what he was probably used to, and as such the gift of adaptation was perhaps the greatest weapon any crime fighter or otherwise could possess. “But don’t worry, by the time I’m done with ya, you’ll be ready to rumble over rooftops and all sorts?” One always needed to be ready to face a new challenge and tweak their means accordingly, so the fact that he could do that, albeit in a slightly clumsy manner, was encouraging for the ebony enchantress, and so too was she to the young man she ran free alongside. “Yeeeaahhh… To be honest those guys in the office weren’t exactly crazy about the idea of my continuing to use it when I got the call up, but not disasters yet?” The playful joke about katana suddenly seeming to spark something that felt a little more philosophical between master and student, as Kirk seemed to point out how dangerous such weapons could be, Miss Murasaki had to confess the fact that she had been met with frowns of her own the first few times she had brought her own brilliant blade to missions once she had gone legit, and had effectively had to prove she had the focus needed not to abuse that privilege. “Accidents can happen for sure, that’s why you should only use the weapon when you have the discipline and control to only use the necessary force and no more?” More than aware of the fact that the sublimely sharp steel she carried with her was an insanely powerful tool even in the average person’s hands let alone her own, while she readily acknowledged the worry of the boy beside her she also offered her own perspective on the matter, in the hopes of helping him see things from a new perspective. “I mean we’re both packing quite a bit of power in these fabulous forms, and without being able to control that properly we could probably kill someone if we weren’t careful? Same could be said of any number of quirkers, and then there’s armed police, right?” It feeling to her that her sword was no more of a hazard than another pro launching around fire or lightning or even a trained cop with a gun in their hand, while there was always the need to treat any force that could injure with a sense of importance and sobriety, at the same time being afraid of such things was just as dangerous as being overconfident with them in her opinion. “Ultimately, no matter the weapon, the important thing is the person who holds it? Give a whack job a potato peeler and things can get very nasty, so yeah things can be scary and you should always respect that, but you should also have confidence in who you are?” Ultimately the greatest aid to any weapon being the assurance needed to act without hesitation, if one was sure of the object in their hand and disciplined enough with it to use it with a sense of care and control one would rarely be steered wrong but it, and so it was all a matter of perspective to her. Sure some people with a blade in hand acted like madmen but others, well, there could be more art in attack and defence that any dance or piece in a museum in her humble opinion…

Again, Kirk had a hard time guess whether Mayas words on him finally getting up somehow were a genuine praise, or a big pile of snark. Not like Kirk hadn't received that often enough from Darren back when he was still around, but it still had that 'whip you into shape' feel to it. And it was not like she was lying. Sometimes the quickest way was the roughest way! "I dunno, sometimes I can just... brute force it through some stuff." Not a villain who had them in their aim naturally, but if there was like a pile of rubble, or a wall, Kirk didn't really need to worry about it. He could just crash through them, and emerge on the other side fine, or just, well, launch himself over them with the same result. He didn't usually need that finesse. But buildings were just a little bit different in that regard.
"I mean, come on, my situation ain't THAT bad, right?!" He was still keeping up with her pretty decently, all though these continuous leaps were starting to hit his legs a bit. But he was making them at a perfect pace with her! So it wasn't that bad! Just a bit of a need of a warm-up still tingling his knees. "Besides, Ain't nothing stopping me from going forward!"
The weapon discussion did have Kirks interests however. It made him think of Tetsuko, and how she was always using her quirk to create all these different sort of blades. But all the times she fought students or teachers, she usually prioritized on making her weapons blunt, akin to clubs or something like that... "Yeah, lot of ways to go about that sort of thing, that's for sure." Of course, if you are gonna use something like that, you would need to actually know how dangerous they were. And who was he to doubt a professional. "Pretty similar to guns too in that regard! Doesn't take too much to pull the trigger and what not, but using em is pretty risky!" He shrugged. Coming from an american it might have perhaps been a bit silly to say that. But he himself had never been a big guy for guns. His grandpa had pretty much beaten that into him.
...But that silliness was emphasized by Maya saying that his form was 'fabulous'. Again, he wasn't sure how to take it, but fabulous was TECHNICALLY a good thing, right?! Luckily, she moved onto talk about the responsibility behind all that muscle, and well, Kirk couldn't help but chuckle at that one. "Oh I know this one! Became a bit of a motto back home when quirks appeared apparently!" He proceeded to comically lift his finger up like a teacher, taking a funny serious tone, and putting his hand over his chest. "You know, 'With great power comes great responsibility!" However this silliness distracted him from the next jump, as his feet didn't make the leap. Luckily the force behind it pushed his upper body forward, landing him on his arms, from which he did a small roll, finishing it off by pushing himself back up by using his pouch. However, he did slap the sides of his head. "Concentrate on the non-existant road!" He was a bit embarrassed, but she had to admit, that was a pretty sweet recovery!
In the end, Kirk could just nod at the whole thing. "Can't really agree more. Sports items are my personal forte after all!" Admittedly, that might make him some sort of a nutcase in his own way. "And ain't nothing safer than stuff used to play fun games, am I right?!" A bit of a joke in this case. They did still require a good aim whatever the case to avoid making the damage too severe. But a good thing about them, was that they came in multiple different materials. It was a whole different deal to be hit by a fussy tennisball, compared to a leathery baseball.

You sure you can keep up with a woman like me~?
❝ “Heeheehee, it’s fine to be a human bulldozer, especially when fighting enemies but just remember that some days the scalpel is a better weapon than the hammer~?” The conversation she carried with the boy making her giggle a little, there was an earnestness about this young lad that the ebony empress certainly found herself admiring, and with that in mind she certainly didn’t want to stifle his confidence at all. Nodding with a definite sense of approval as she commented on Kirk’s natural ability to plough through things and definitely believing it looking at how well built he was, all that Miss Murasaki wanted to do was remind him that while it was good to be strong, it was best to know how to use that. When and where to be strongest, and perhaps even when and where to seem weakest as well. “But there’s no need to worry, you’ve definitely got it where it counts kid, I’m just trying to polish that up and make you… ‘Be all you can be’, or something like that~?” Smirking as she saw the way that he seemed to be keeping up with her comfortably and extending her stride a little bit again, in order to ensure that he wasn’t simply throwing himself over gaps recklessly the running raven began to vary their course a little by taking a longer approach to things, and going the scenic way around the rooftops in order to give him a chance to switch up his methods and sure up his footing. Which seemed especially important to the soaring sable siren after how her student very nearly seemed to fall short on one occasion of their lunging, and so while their route became a little more laborious and rather roundabout, they would hopefully prove a little safer for him as well. “Isn’t that… From some old movie~?” Distracted a little when next the boy beside her seemed to bring up a line that seemed oddly familiar to her, while Maya found herself unable to place the source of such a comment from anywhere specific, she could definitely remember it popping up in something she had watched. Or was at least 90% sure of that. “I swear I’d heard that somewhere…” Nodding to herself and letting her mind drift a little as she tried to put a title to the link but found herself struggling in that regard, the brow of the black beauty knotted up a little as she clawed for an answer which seemed to elude her, and might just have presented her new protégé with an opportunity to impress her because of this. If he knew, of course, and she wasn’t just having a weird Déjà vu or something. “Well, you do you, buddy. If that’s what you feel most comfortable with, that’s the main thing?” Narrowing her eyes and then smiling as Kirk seemed to express why he had chosen such unusual forms for his tools, while Miss Murasaki herself could think of way more effective forms of weaponry than tennis balls and rackets ultimately what mattered most was his confidence when using the tools, and given how strong a sentiment of assurance he seemed to have in his abstract armaments she was now a little curious to see how much use he could get out of them. “I have my sword because… It was something my grandfather taught me?” In a weird way seeming to sense a certain sense of kinship in their common but stubborn desire to employ a specific form of weaponry, while the dark dish did not know exactly why this lad felt so connected to his own choice she could understand it, and because of that shared a little of her own personal motivation for employing her own form of weaponry. “And honestly because of that… I feel a bit stronger having it with me?” It certainly the case that the Katana she wielded was an ample tool for her but in truth the relationship that she had with her sublime sword going deeper than offering a simple sturdiness and sharpness to her arsenal, in a more naked sense she felt like if she gave the blade up she would be giving up something more important, and would absolutely be weaker as a result of this, even if indirectly. “It’s like there’s a piece of him fighting along with me?” Even feeling just a tiny swell of emotion rising within her heart as she admitted the fact that her razors edge was as much about reassuring herself as anything else, while some fighters might have mocked her for taking such a sentimental approach she wouldn’t let their scorn stop her, and honestly felt like in part her pupil might understand her choice that little bit better now that he’d had the chance to hear the reason behind it.
