Today's lesson was a bit of a re-do. After the unexpected incident that occurred during Chim's last lesson they were gonna be doing another so that Kiersa and him didn't feel a little er... 'cheated', out of the experience. Bura, likely recieving some councelling with Mosa, wasn't able to return so they'd gotten another volounteer in the form of Beaumont to attend this time.
Chimera had the rundown of how things generally worked from last time, a brief refresher on how to set off the special effects and pyrotechnics, but otherwise would be given the run of the land. Since this was going to be a re-do Yumi and the Saikyuen reps worked together to make things a little more interesting though, wanting to give the underclassmen more of a chance to 'win'.
When they arrived, Yumi would briefly greet them both and inform them that when they entered the room, a siren would sound to indicate the start of the 'event.' Their task was to climb to the top of the artificial tower (they'd have started at the '25th' floor out of 30) and rescue a dummy civilian. Reaching the civilian was all they needed to do... but of course Chimera would be there to halt their progress.
Ultimately, when the event began, they would find themself in a disused old office building, thin walls and haphazardly placed office furniture on the several floors. The elevator shaft was open but of course no elevator could be called, and when things began, flames would start to spread along the outside of the artificial building. Inside the lights would shut off, leaving the underclassmen feeling hot under the collar, and with only the faint orange glow of distant flames to light their way.

So this was do-over was going to be... interesting. Kiersa knew vaguely what Chimera-senpai was capable of from the first version of this exhibition match. Superior strength and speed for the most part were what she remembered most. And she'd worked beside Beaumont in the match against Miss Red Horn... She was still aching from that fight.
At least this time around there was a defined goal besides "beat the villain". A rescue operation, as well as a five floor gauntlet on top of the "villain" of the match. This was the sort of thing that she was training to be a hero for, so it would definitely serve as a far better measure of her abilities so far than a straight up fight did.
As for her team-mate for this... Kiersa was honestly not a big fan of Beaumont's Quirk. Or at the very least, how it worked. There was just something about him vomiting up weapons and metal like a reverse sword-swallower that just... Well suffice to say, she learned to not look directly at him when he was doing it in the fight with Miss RedHorn.
Kiersa took this moment of relative calm to get a gauge for what their current location was like, and to guess what the next five floors might be similarly arranged like. With the way the furniture in the office space was placed, it was almost akin to a maze albeit a short one. If the next five floors were going to be like this as well, along with the lack of lighting... Well, she was definitely going to be getting a workout that was for sure.
The confined conditions would also allow her to see if her plan the first time they'd done this against Chimera would even have had any merit at all... Although Kiersa was somewhat guiltily glad that Burabura wasn't her partner again for this do-over match. The Tokyo street setting from before was enough to trigger an episode, so the interior of a wrecked building... Yeah, definitely a good idea to not have him here yet.

[attr="class","aodmain"] The last time he worked as a team with Kiersa, he went for the unprepared route...just as he was during the insanity resulting from the prison break. In a way, he felt a little guilty since...his quirk was absolutely one of the most disgusting things ever. Even his own mother and father would try to make lighthearted jokes about how with his handsome lil' face, the enemy won't expect his quirk which embarrassed the ever loving crap out of him. At least this time, he wore his more heroic, albeit a modified costume with heat resistant fabric and a tear away cape as he did with Kirk. Which caused him to make a few adjustments made of his own malleable metal, including a sword within its hilt. [break][break] Although, the sword held no edge as it did last time, Beaumont refused to pull a sword on the upperclassman...no matter difference in strength. What if he accidentally punctured his classmate's lung or something godawful like that?! With an actual villain, it was life or death sometimes...but every life came with a heavy weight. Honestly...he was impressed by his fellow support student having the strength and bravery to keep on going. His classmates seemed to lean toward hero names...and well, with the theme Kirk had going on, maybe Chimera would be the same in going completely ham? "I don't mean to coddle you, Valkyrie...so please don't take this the wrong way, but if you find yourself regressing, say something immediately so we can get you help right away...I..." [break][break] Furrowing his brows slightly, he followed her lead since she had the upper hand with being able to utilize light. Colt...Colt pushed him away and things were different between them now...and that boy, his childhood friend, someone sharing the same dorm room with him...was starting to feel more like a stranger. Was it all his fault that what they had fell apart like it was worth nothing after all those years. Was he...just...disposable and everything was just some sugar coated farce? "...I know you can do this, Valkyrie, but please...remember your limits..." [break][break] After offering a slight smile that almost seemed sad as his gaze was almost hollow and cold. The Forged Knight remained close to her since he could aid her in an evasion tactic or defend her with a decent level of reaction time. This was more of a rescue mission, which he, by no means, thought would be easy. Looking around with what lighting they had available, he wasn't only looking out for the big bad, but trying to get a gauge on the structural stability of this place. Since the goal was to reach a trapped civilian in the form of a dummy, his mind tried to put him in the shoes of if he were doing this as an actual task as a hero. If things started collapsing, not only could they get hurt, but so could other innocent people. [break][break] Yet, it could also be a good opportunity to turn the environment against a foe...but it was always such a dicey, tricky choice. "...I...I trust you and I hope you can trust me too, Kiersa-chan..." He just hoped she would trust him too...especially after all she went through. What happened to her...it...wasn't right and didn't sit well with him, for what he was aware of anyway. Being hurt by your own team mate, not to be trusted...he wished he was a stranger to that feeling. Unfortunately, Colt introduced him to doubt and showed him that for someone he trusted...didn't return that, not anymore and it stung. That's the price he had to pay for appointing himself as Colt's bodyguard, he supposed... [attr="class","addy"] addy

1120 WC Sorry I'm laaaaate | Having a second chance was always nice, especially when it wasn't your fault that things went off the rails in the first place. Chimera had been all ready for a fun, fair fight with Burabura and Kiersa, but it had quickly gone south and left him having to be heroic rather than getting to play a villain. Not before he'd used his opener, though, which left him feeling like he couldn't use it again in this redo with Kiersa. Their reaction to the flying car wouldn't be nearly as fun to watch when she knew it was coming. So he'd opted for a different game.
While Chimera was overall a very simple fighter he did have some skills that didn't quite fit his method of combat. He was strong and fast and could tank hits, so he wound up throwing things at people and rushing right into the enemy's face; standard "tank" class fare. When his best approach was fast and hard he didn't have much use for his canine sense of smell or hearing, beyond maybe knowing if back-up mooks were on the way. He wanted a chance to try those out while in a controlled environment.
So the setting of the "fight" changed, and he even offered an alternative to the win conditions. He'd be fighting two support students, right? It didn't feel fair if the only way for them to beat him was by subduing him. He was pretty sure that he could toss Kiersa into the stratosphere she was so light.
He wasn't on the first floor, as they came into the building. He was instead on the second floor--well, the "twenty-sixth" if they were going by the logic of the game--in wait. His ears picked up on their voices almost immediately. Kiersa wasn't speaking but her partner was. Another first year named Beaumont. Now, while Chimera knew what Kiersa's Quirk could do on account of fighting her already (for all of ten seconds), he wasn't sure what the new kid could do. He probably could have asked Yumi or Redhorn about Beaumont's Quirk but that felt like cheating. He'd gone into the first bout blind, he should do the same for this one. Even if it was more literal than last time.
Cause. Cause "blind". They were in a totally dark building, so--
They're not even here yet, I can save the shitty jokes.
From their words, Beumont sounded concerned for Kiersa. That was nice. Chimera waited in the stairwell above them (the one leading to the third slash twenty-seventh floor) as he listened for them to start walking up the stairs to the floor he was on. As they approached he would duck around a pillar of concrete, obscured only by the darkness and his own footsteps being softened by, well, his softness. Having fuzzy feet had its advantages apparently.
Once the three of them were all on the same floor he'd be able to catch their scent. Kiersa was the same as last time; something light and airy, not unlike the faintest traces of honeysuckle, though that might have been some manner of cleaning product. Beaumont's was new and different, yet weirdly familiar; he smelled like metal, like iron and fire, kind of like the scent of welding. It reminded him a little of...well, the majority of people living with him right now, honestly. If he was a techie like Yojin, Charlie, and Momoko then Chimera would need to be careful until he figured out just what he could do.
It might have just been his personal experience, but techies were wild cards. You could never be too careful in fighting one, let alone living with three.
So time to see how far Kiersa's light can reach... Chimera picked up a toppled over chair like it was made of foam rather than metal, and chucked it across the room so that it landed on the wall opposite his hiding place. From the stairwell if Kiersa could hit that, then she'd be able shine her light and hit that, then she'd be able to get him at the same distance. It wasn't nearly as loud and bombastic as last time, but he had a plan, dangit, so he was going to hold on until the atmosphere was right.
Once he had confirmed Kiersa's range, he'd duck back to the stairs going up, and slip onto the third slash twenty-seventh floor, waiting for them to get just a bit closer to the stairs themselves. Before they reached the stairs, though, he'd get to spring his plan into action. He just needed to hear their footsteps, and catch their scent getting stronger the closer they came to his location on the floor above. He waited. Waited. Aaaaand...
Now!
Just before Kiersa and Beaumont could have reached the stairwell, they would only be perhaps ten feet away, there was a small click as Chimera hit one of the switches on the pyrotechnics. There was a sudden rumble above them and dust shook from the ceiling. Chimera cracked his knuckles.
Normally, he would not be able to shatter through an entire building floor in one punch; there were too many layers to it, which even if individually he'd have no issue were too strong for him to bust. But the building was booby-trapped for exactly that reason. This spot in particular had panels that withdrew from its location, turning the once thick and sturdy flooring into a far weaker pair of slabs. Slabs that he could easily break, if only for dramatics.
So that's exactly what he did.
Reeling his arm back he slammed his fist into the floor, and like stage glass it cracked and crumbled, dropping chunks of rubble and debris onto any unsuspecting individuals below. He didn't want to hurt either of them (though a little was probably inevitable) but they'd had ample warning that something was about to happen in that spot. It would be their own fault if they hadn't stepped back before the ceiling collapsed on top of them!
Chimera didn't, however, jump down the hole once it was made, he'd wait on the floor above, staying out of sight, listening for their responses. . |

Kiersa smiled softly and shook her head as Beaumont voiced his concerns for her. "D-Don't w-worry... I w-will let you kn-know Forged Knight." she said, electing to use his hero name just as he was using hers. At the moment the young blonde worked on keeping her Quirks light coming through her gloves at a low enough level to act as a torch. There was no telling when or where Chimera-senpai would be striking at them from... But at least this time she didn't have to worry about flying cars or lamp posts.
When Beaumont expressed the topic regarding trust, she stopped briefly on the stairs and sighed. "I d-do trust y-you Beaumont... a-and I s-still trust him a-as well." she said albeit a little wearily. It wasn't Burabura's fault what happened that day, least not in her view of things. Why everyone, including Bura himself, kept trying to blame him for what happened was beyond her. He went through a traumatic experience when the prison breakout happened... Of course it would still affect him and cause some issues. It wasn't his fault...
Kiersa continued to climb the stairs to the second floor, the twenty sixth as it were, and when she reached the top there came a crashing sound. The blonde immediately crouched down, swinging her torch hand out and intensifying the beam of light even as she brought up her other arm in a defensive guard. Seven meters was her maximum range with her gloves that she could maintain any sort of effectiveness with her Quirks light aspect.
From where she was on the stairwell she couldn't make out the source of the noise, even at the very edge of the lights periphery... So she carefully advanced until she was about a third of the way in, and could see at the periphery of her light... It was a chair?
She released the breath she didn't know she had been holding and turned down the light's intensity to normal levels, before slowly making her way further into the next floor's space. "S-Sorry... th-thought it was Chimera-senpai m-making his g-grand entrance..." she said to Beaumont, bowing her head in apology to him for her jumpiness earlier.
Although it seemed her jumpiness was about to be justified as all of a sudden there came a rumbling noise from above them. "M-Maybe I s-spoke too soon..." said Kiersa, as she began to back herself up to the wall, hoping that Beaumont had the same idea whilst she kept her eyes fixed on the ceiling above them. And sure enough, there came the crash as the ceiling came tumbling down!
Kiersa covered herself with her arms to protect herself from any debris before holding out her hands towards the hole. "E-Eyes!" she called out to Beaumont as a warning before she let loose a quick burst of blinding level of light through her gloves, just in case Chimera-senpai came down next.
But... it seemed that there was no follow-up. Or at least none that was apparent to her... "Y-You alright Forged Knight?" Kiersa asked, looking over to wherever he was and immediately trying to see if he needed any medical aid.

A slight smile played its way across his lips when he heard her say that she not only trusted him as her partner during this event...but BuraBura too. That boy wasn't bad or horrible...yet so many people were demonizing him like crazy and it was upsetting as could be. Hopefully as word got around about the RedHorn class, people would take back all of the nasty things they were saying! Just because he made mistakes didn't make him any less of a hero...that impact to the chest and getting flung into the water....
[break][break]
....he probably wouldn't be here right now if it wasn't for his bravery, that or under some extreme care. Good GOD that class was rough! So all those naysayers were jerks and Beaumont would defend BuraBura's honor if the opportunity allowed for it. "That's a relief..." As they made their way through...he knew nothing about their opponent, what to expect, how to handle it...nothing. That's as it should be since an element of mystery kept him on his toes. When the chair crashed in, he grit his teeth and grasped the hilt of his SWORDTON! BATWORN?! SWORD BATON THING...he really should come up with a better name for it.
[break][break]
No one in their right mind is gonna want him under their wing if he couldn't even come up with good product names. Leaning forward, he was going to charge to in an effort to buy Kiersa space so she could maintain the advantage of being a ranged combatant...but just a chair? Really? Seriously? Slowly tracing his gaze toward where the chair ninja'd itself from...it screamed bait. Pacing his breath, just trying to stay calm...keeping his voice low, "No, it's good to have your guard up."
[break][break]
...that chair came from the stairs...upstairs...
[break][break]
His eyes shot wide open as he looked up to confirm his suspicions and released the hilt of the SWORDTON, the boy duck, tucked and rolled opposite of Kiersa. Landing in a crouch with his back to the wall, grasping onto his cape to shield himself from the debris. About to lower his arm to take a peek over, he jerked his arm upward upon hearing her about eyes and took the hint rather quickly. Okay...so maybe the student they were going against had heightened senses. That meant he'd need to try thinking three steps ahead.
[break][break]
Lowering his arm...he wasn't quite sure what sort of strategy would work...but he was going to try something. Fixating his icy gaze on Kiersa, he held his hand still for a moment as though to say wait, flicked his fingers to mimic a flash motion before stiffening his hand to direct it near the stairs where the chair was. Then patting two fingers beneath his eyes and pointing up toward the hole as though quietly telling her stay in your position, flash at the stairs, eyes on the hole above us. Grabbing onto a piece of debris closest to him which he could hold in one hand, careful not to shift against the rubble below him as he did so...reaching ahead of him, he clenched his hand into a fist before smacking the ground to try and emulate the sound of quickly moving forward, then chucked the debris in his hand he grabbed not too long ago near the stairs in hopes of causing a diversion. His goal was to make their opponent think that they were trying to make a break for the stairs.
[break][break]
Maintaining his focus, he kept his eyes on the stairs just in case and hoped Kiersa would be his eyes for the ceiling. They needed to be ready and those, as far as he could tell, were the only routes at this time and he was going to pop in from one of the two. It wasn't much, but the element of surprise was their best bet to get a slight upper hand...or at least that's all he could come up with right now!

488 WC incoming glomp | How many jokes can I make out of Kiersa having "bright ideas".
Just as the dust and rubble had begun to dissipate, Chimera made out a sharp word of warning from Kiersa, and jerked back from the edge of the hole in the floor (well, ceiling? Both? Both.) with a large paw moving to cover his eyes. So long as they relied on verbal back and forth, he'd have an advantage in predicting their attacks, especially with Kiersa being afraid of friendly fire. Not that that was a bad thing--he thought it was very, very good that she warned her teammate before setting of a metaphorical flash grenade in the middle of a pitch-black building--but it wouldn't help them with his ears honed to them.
After a moment he risked peering over his arm again, and found familiar darkness meeting him. Chimera ducked low again, listening for sounds of movements. He heard soft scraping sounds. One of them standing up? Kiersa, maybe, since it sounded too light to be Beaumont. Would they try to move toward the stairs, or try to lure him down to their level--
There was the sudden sound of movement, and his head turned towards it. Heavy, hard, and sudden. Were those footsteps? The sound was loud and echoed up the stairwell but...was the pattern right? He thought he'd heard Kiersa moving but that was too heavy to be here footfall. And he hadn't heard a second movement. This was confusing him. Sound alone wasn't helping.
Clever bastards. Good for them!
So then if sound failed him--
Chimera drew in a series of short breaths through his nose. It sounded, well, like a dog snuffling, and an attentive ear focused on the hole above might have been able to catch it if the sound of the thrown debris didn't cover it. The scent of living, warm bodies was still close to him, rather than farther away. Honey-suckle and metal, over the dust and rust and dirt in the air. Chimera stepped backwards from the lip of the hole. So he was right--one of them had caught on to how he was following their movements. Or at least the first half of how.
Now...to "fall" for the trap, or not?
He stepped into an overturned desk, glanced back at it, and caught it with his paws. In a swift movement he had tossed it in the direction of the hole--a large dark shadow dropping down the center of it--and at the same time he sprinted on soft, furry feet towards the stairwell down. He waited to see a flash of light again, or to hear a shout of alarm from Kiersa or Beaumont, before he dashed out again, relying purely on his speed to get his paws on whomever was closer and drive them into the wall behind them. The closest scent was that of iron.
Time to greet the new kid with full-body tackle.

Beaumont's coded plan was pretty decent, and would no doubt prove effective... If Kiersa had understood a single gesture of it whatsoever. Her brain was busy trying to process it as if he was using actual Sign Language, but nothing he was gesturing made sense at all. It was like he had Tourettes or something... When he threw the debris at the stairs though it all suddenly began to make much more sense.
Now she just had to remember what exactly his gestures had been and in what order prior to his distraction... But her ears twitched at the sound of sniffing from the hole in the ceiling, which distracted her from remembering Beaumont's gestured instructions. Why would there be sniffing sounds unless...
As a dark shape came lunging down from the hole, Kiersa let loose another high-powered beam of Light towards it! "S-Sorry!" she cried out, apologising to Chimera whom she thought she had gotten with the lights... only to discover that it was a table that had been thrown down the hole.
If that wasn't Chimera then where was... Her eyes widened as she turned on the spot to face towards the stairs just in time to see a blur of fur come barreling towards Beaumont! They'd been played! Maybe there was a way to salvage this though... He had heightened senses, so he'd be more sensitive to sudden shifts compared to herself and Beaumont. Her mind flashed back to that party that Niji had held a while ago, in particular the dance lights.
Kiersa quickly took off her left glove and closed her eyes in preparation for what she was going to try out for the first time ever. "P-Party Bomb!" she called out, making up an attack name on the spot that she hoped Forged Knight would understand quickly, as she began to rapidly flash a medium level of light from her left hand, in her attempt try to achieve a strobe light effect.
She really hoped that neither of them were epileptic!

The male blonde of the golden locks duo just went totally deadpan as he glanced back at his partner when he saw she didn't follow up with the plan. Slowly blinking...the usually sharp teen realized in that moment that he didn't run any codes by her and she had no freaking idea what he was trying to convey. Using his words would have been useless since whoever was after them had sharp enough hearing to pick up where they were from above. Okay...logic dictated he needed to turn his attention away from the stairs. Especially since no light to follow up with the sounds and movement, an experienced person would probably pick up that it was a garbage tier trap.
[break][break]
Slowly....very slowly....he let out a soft sigh and looked exasperated as could be with a look that screamed out never mind. Carefully, he got onto his feet, not bothering to dust himself off since he needed to be as quiet as possible. The armor pieces upon his attire were at least a little muffled from the fabric, but he just looked tired, about ready to actually head toward the stairs. This was a rescue mission, they couldn't play the waiting game in the event a hostage's life was in danger. At least they both had their attention on the big gaping hole in the ceiling.
[BREAK][BREAK]
Trying to at least keep the stairs in his peripherals, when something made some loud noise coming from the ceiling though? OH BOY, he quickly held up his cape to shield his eyes from Kiersa's direction and readied the SWORDTOOOOON, pouncing forward with the blunt weapon across his chest and swung across in an arc at AN EVIL DESK OF DOOM! ...wait...desk? Smacking it off to the side, he squinted as the SWORDTOOOOOON cracked a bit from the impact of colliding momenttum. Popping a brow in confusion, he puffed his cheeks while glaring up at the hole. Sighing, he began walking toward the stairs, trying to be as quiet as possible, dismissively waving his hand.
[break][break]
When he tilted his head up, his eyes shot wide open at the fluffy blur heading toward him and oh shit, the fell for the freaking trap! Swiftly bringing the SWORDTOOOON across and gripping onto it while gritting his teeth...whoever the hell this was, they were freaking tough! The blunt weapon shattered upon impact and he let out a sharp gasp as their bodies collided! You know what he did? He grabbed onto the fluffy menace as he felt his chest and back armor breaking, going out of his way to try and tangle his fingers into his hair while giving his opponent a cold as steel glare.
[break][break]
The metallic crown of thorns upon his head hadn't caused the blonde teen any harm since he fixed up the design thanks to his exhibition match with Kirk! Heaving out a heavy sigh, he wasn't sure how tangled the fur was, but he had to bluff his confidence in the strategy. The boy's words were bitter and sharp, "You aren't going anywhere. VALKYRIE, PLEASE GET THE HOSTAGE! I'LL MANAGE!" They had two different plans...another oh shit moment as she yelled out Party Bomb, and he blurted out, "LET'S PANIC AT THE DISCO?!" Before shutting his eyes!
[break][break]
With an attempt at a headbutt, he also tried to move his leg so he could ram his knee into their fuzzy opponent's side. It was less a try to hurt him and more a annoy enough to keep distracted. Working with Kiersa was going all right so far, all things considered...but something told him that they should probably chat strategies so she can silently interact with team mates. Help each other grow and improve, hell, he was sure she could teach him a lot too!

618 WC he's wanted to do this | As strong as Beaumont's weapon was--and however strong it was, Chimera didn't know himself--it was simply no match for the strength of his horns. The weapon broke apart as it came down over one of his horns and Chimera pushed ahead, large paws coming up to try and wrap around the core of his target and get them into the air, and be ready to hurl them across the room. That plan would have worked out better had they not tangled their fingers into his fur, of course, which meant Chimera would have to detach him first.
He could theoretically still just up and chuck him, but it might take a few fists full of fur with them, and he'd really rather not with that sort of pain, okay?
Still, as he still had a hold of him, Chimera tilted his arms up and lifted Beaumont clear into the air, wriggling him back and forth to try and loosen his hold somehow. He was doing pretty well, too, barking out for Kiersa to move on without him. Not a bad strategy. But it would only work if Beaumont could actually hold Chimera's attention long enough to keep him from going straight after her. And they'd both be in way more danger separated than together.
Or, well, they would be if Chimera were an actual villain.
He wasn't going to actually hurt them, if he could help it.
It was like football (American football, because he was American, of course) but with more punching, swords, and strobe lights--
Oh.
Oops.
Chimera was not as prepared for this blast of light as he had been the first, but only because he wasn't sure what Kiersa meant with her exclamation, and he was also genuinely caught off guard by whatever the heck Beaumont said in response. Several short sudden bursts of golden light went off in the pitch black room and Chimera yelped in dizzying pain as his eyes took them quite poorly, very effectively blinding the goat and disorienting him long enough for Beaumont's head to slam down into his own and make the headache worse.
Beaumont would, of course, have to slam his head into Chimera's horns to pull that one off, which couldn't be great for the lad's own skull, but hey, it worked?
"Auuurugh, fuck, why would you headbutt horns, genius?? That's gon--OOF."
When his knee then found Chimera's side, Chimera released his hold on Beaumont's waist and he would either drop to the ground if he had untangled his fingers from Chimera's fur, or possibly even pull Chimera down with him if he hadn't. Oh, lord, his head was spinning. He couldn't even tell if he had fallen over or not. But he couldn't stay down for too long. He'd have to do something. And, thankfully, sight was far from his most effective sense.
His ears twitched up, like a dog, as he listened for wherever Beaumont landed, wherever Kiersa was moving to, for changes if movement. He would have to be quick. If he didn't do this right he'd be giving them an advantage...sorta.
"Oof...so, hah, you use blunt weapons, right, Knight?"
So using entirely blind luck, and hoping that Beaumont was suffering from his own minor headache from headbutting a literal goat, his paw closed around a limb--a wrist, an ankle, he wasn't super sure--
"How 'bout being a blunt weapon?!"
--and he swung with all of his might in the direction of Kiersa's anxious, quick breathing and heartbeat, then released mid-swing, hoping to hurl one of his opponents at the other. Alright. That might hurt them more than your standard game of football, but Kiersa was a healer. It would be fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiine.
Probably.

It worked? It actually worked! Kiersa quickly pulled her glove back on as she began to make her way towards the stairs, biting her lower lip as it would mean effectively leaving Beaumont to try and deal with Chimera-senpai on his own... But he was the only one with any kind of offensive capabilities between the two of them, which meant that the idea of her going up the stairs to try and reach the "hostage" made the most sense.
Of course whatever made sense at that moment in time was soon lost, as even as she began to climb the stairs she could hear the whistling of armour flying through the air. The young blonde girl had just enough time to think uh oh to herself as she turned around, and could barely see in the darkness the young blonde boy flying straight towards her! Kiersa let out an eeep and an ooph as the pair collided with one another, and even though she could feel the bruises starting to form on herself, she began to administer her Quirk to Beaumont.
The downside to her using her Quirks primary healing attribute of course, was that her hands automatically light up with a faint glow which of course would give away their position to Chimera-senpai even in his blinded state... But what had to be done had to be done. Whilst she couldn't mend any busted bones and such he might have from the fight so far, she could at least work on tending to any cuts and bruises he had on his person.
A thought occurred to Kiersa during all of this though, which started to elevate her anxiety levels once more. Were they on a time limit for this exhibition match redo? She couldn't remember if there was a time limit involved or not at the moment...

Blood trickled down his face, pieces of his crown puncturing his own flesh before breaking and crumbling down...yet he wore a confident and bright smile despite it all. It was certainly a scene to behold, even if he was a little dizzy himself...if it could help his partner get away though? Worth it. When he was released, thanks to the tangling, it was a bit of a 50/50 in department getting away from the spunky blonde! Shock overtook him at how strong this particular first year was and his face went completely deadpan, his eyes trying to fixate on their dastardly villain! "Oh shi--" Some fur was pulled along with him here and there, just a bit since some of it was loosened up but yowch!
[break][break]
The blonde knight cringed at the subtle sound of hair ripping... "S-s-s-s-sorry I--!" His body slamming against the ground, it still hurt a bit despite the remains of his armor and body soaking up a good amount of the damage. DIDN'T STOP IT FROM MAKING HIM REEL IN PAIN, THAT'S FOR SURE! This sucked so badly, had his plan gone through, maybe he wouldn't be in this predicament...or maybe it would...uuuugggghhhhh someone who outmatched him in experience and outclassed him in strength.
[break][break]
This was going to be Beaumont's bad day.
[break][break]
For crying out loud, even more of his armor was breaking and falling off! Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa whyyyyyyy! Despite feeling like human garbage and everything feeling like it was spinning, he was trying to push himself up so that he could keep distracting this guy. Come on, you can do it...just up on your feet!
[break][break]
Ha ha.
[break][break]
Fat chance.
[break][break]
Picked up by the ankle, rapidly trying to claw at the ground like a cat that DAMN IT, DOESN'T WANT A FREAKING BATH! Such a desire of staying on the ground was denied and you wanna know why? Of course you do! It's because he was straight up thrown as he screeched like a mighty YEETasaur, crashing against his will straight into Kiersa...major yikes! Coughing as he felt the wind get knocked out of him for a moment, at least most of his upper body lost the armor plating and it wouldn't hurt too bad? Well, not as badly as it would have!
[break][break]
Rolling off of her as soon as he could, he hoped she wasn't too hurt...or...and she was using her light to help him? It was strange how they weren't in the same class, yet she would have been a wonderful fit for 1-S. Maybe when they had another chance to talk...he'd ask about it, or maybe that would seem rude. For some reason, he couldn't shake that some of the combat students looked down on the support class like they were weaker or inferior at times. To him, they all needed each other and every role had a high level of importance. Hell, he felt bad for the folks who couldn't see that.
[break][break]
Maybe one day they could all learn from each other?
[break][break]
Right now, he had to get up...or try.
[break][break]
There was no point in trying to keep quiet when the enemy knew where they were, that edge had come and gone. "...sorry, didn't have the best plan...did I?" Muttering those words softly under his breath, he smiled toward her for a moment. Geeze...which way did he get flung from anyway? The floofy, fluffy opponent would be after them again. "Thank you, but please go, I'll be fine." Laying there, moving his hand around to try and gather some dust and debris as he spoke, trying to cloak the sound of his movements. Beaumont was so thankful for her help and the fact that his body was gradually healing up. This was much more helpful than trying to heal up on his own naturally...
[break][break]
Beaumont would lay and wait...
[break][break]
...if Chimera came their way, he'd fling the dust and debris in hopes of getting it in his eyes and book it with Kiersa if the opportunity presented itself. Might as well try to pull a bluff if possible!

588 WC Damn pocket sand | Urgh, his head was swimming. Chimera swayed in place as his vision went in and out, spotted with too much light and giving him one hell of a migraine. He had to use his ears and nose to tell where anything was. But at least he had a chance. The scent of metal and something sweet directed him toward Beaumont. Sweet like honey. It was actually a little distracting...but before that train of thought could progress further he had flung Beaumont across the room, and just like that the distraction wasn't so bad anymore.
Wait. Is he bleeding?
Chimera froze, eyes still clenched shut, not moving an inch even when his blotchy vision managed to make out a sudden warm light in front of him. Ahah. He hadn't been wrong. Beaumont must have hurt himself bad enough in their collision to bleed. But from where? From what? Chimera's horns were blunt and he hadn't used his claws anywhere that could have lead to tearing at his skin--and he hadn't gotten a good enough look at him in proper lighting to know what accessories he wore with his hero costume.
He should move now, though, before either of them moved. Hell, he should interrupt Kiersa before she managed to get her healing off on Beaumont. But if he did that, he'd be exposing himself to fresh blood. He could fight it.
I'm not a monster.
But it would mean putting himself on a timer, and he couldn't afford that.
I can control myself.
...and if I fail? And Kiersa sees? Two mutant quirkers going berserk in the span of two lessons will look so, so bad. I don't want to hurt either of them. I don't want to terrify her. I can't let her see mutants as...animals.
So he didn't move, until the sweet scent was gone, eyes closing shut as he drew in a breath. Nothing more than dust, and metal, and honeysuckle. He wondered for a second about that last one but...no, it was a different sort of sweetness. Hers almost smelled like a lingering cleaning product.
Hah.
Beaumont's words did get him to chuckle though, albeit only managing to hide his moment of panic by that much. "I mean, I can't see shit, so something went right, right?" He quipped back, and listened for the sounds of footfall.
Kiersa on her own could probably make it pretty far, if Chimera didn't catch her, and he couldn't exactly put Beaumont behind him without getting some sort of payback. Both of them together was what was best for his style--the closer they were the easier it was to get both of them. So splitting the group was bad. But how to get Beaumont to stop playing shield and follow her...
Chimera stalked forward in the returned darkness, moving with his aching eyes still shut, and made it to where he could scent the smell of metal strongest.
And then suddenly he wasn't smelling metal anymore. He wasn't smelling much of anything, in fact, because he suddenly breathed in a handful of dust and debris that left him hacking and coughing, forcing him to stall backwards. Aurgh, dammit! He hadn't heard Beaumont gathering anything up. It had to have been covered by the sounds of Kiersa moving. Or...him moving. One or the other, his nose was now full of dust and it racked his body with coughs.
Beaumont and Kiersa had a chance to book it.
But were they faster than he was, once he got his wind back?

Kiersa shook her head as Beaumont tried to apologise. "N-No, it was m-my fault for not u-understanding sooner..." she said, her Quirk tending to the bleeding that the boy had managed to suffer. One thought did cross her mind though during this whole exchange, especially with Chimera-senpai quipping back at them from the distance... Why was he keeping away from them?
If he was really playing the role of a villain for them, then shouldn't he be taking advantage of their current situation? He certainly had the speed and strength for it, plus he knew where they were even blinded as he was. So why was he keeping back from them? The blonde girl looked down at Beaumont, trying to figure out what was going on, and more importantly if they could take advantage of this pause in Chimera's tactics.
What was the differing factor between this exercise and the last one? It couldn't be because of an injury, since Kiersa's ankle had been broken last time whilst this time all the damage was Beaumont bleeding... Wait... Before she could ponder about this possibility any further, Chimera had finally decided to move in before Beaumont lodged a large clump of dust into the fluffy horned student's face!
Deciding to take advantage of this situation, Kiersa would try to help Beaumont to his feet and try to work on getting him up the stairs as quickly as possible. Two of Chimera's three senses were occupied now, sight and smell, but he could still hear them. But, she could hear him as well, now that she knew what to listen for.
Once the pair had reached the top of the stairs, she'd try to give Beaumont a quick look over before trying to tap her index and middle fingers along his hand in a sort of running motion. The young blonde girl then took her other hand and gave her Quirk a brief flash through the gloves so that they could get a better idea of how and where they would be making their way towards the next set of stairs. Especially since this floor had a bit of a hole in it from where Chimera-senpai had come crashing through earlier.
She decided to test the theory she'd come up with before making her run through the floor though. If only to possibly block one of Chimera's routes up to them. Kiersa took a deep breath as she removed her glove before she bit down into her left thumb, hard. Hard enough to break skin and cause herself to bleed.
She winced in pain but then proceeded to start smearing that blood across the door's frame and flick it across the immediate area as best she could. It wasn't ideal, but it might give her an idea if this would even work as a deterrent, which if proven correct could buy them time later on. Kiersa put her glove back on and then started to make her way as quickly as she could through the floor, trying her best to remember where the hole was as well as the stairs to the next level.
Hopefully Beaumont wasn't too far behind or ahead of her at this point and had understood her message earlier.

A subtle smile rest across his lips, he couldn't be mad about Kiersa not understanding what he was trying to silently communicate to her about before. They still had time to salvage this whole thing...hopefully anyway, if not, the important thing is they were learning from all this! Wasn't that the most important part? After buying them some time with additional dust and debris, he bolted off with Kiersa.
[break][break]
Speaking of learning!
[break][break]
Heeeeey! Even the person who's supposed to be acting as the villain said that something went right! "O-oh! Thank you!" He could hear them so it wasn't much of a secret as to where their location was while they were on the move! When they got to the top of the stairs, he watched her use her middle and index digits to do a little walking motion...but the fast pace probably meant to run. Nodding in affirmation to step one, he saw the little flicker of light in the direction of the next flight of stairs...he quickly glanced around the are to see if maybe the hostage was on this floor. Nope, that would have been far too easy.
[break][break]
Pointing toward the next flight of stairs, he then widened his eyes and frowned...what in the world was she doing?! Hurting herself was a terrible idea! If this guy had keen senses all around, that meant he could track them easier with the scent of fresh blood! Flailing his arms up and down, left to right while shaking his head, he didn't want to see if this guy was gonna find them easier with one of them bleeding! Bringing his hands to his face and dragging them down...this was a morbid plan, but it seemed like she was trying to use blood as a distraction.
[break][break]
The princely blonde didn't quite agree with this...but he nodded reluctantly and just hoped that this brand of distraction would work. Tapping his foot repeatedly as though he was impatient, he picked up a chunk of what felt like cement. When Kiersa was ready to go, he'd stop tapping his foot and follow after her, but keeping his distance so that she would be further in the lead! This way if their fluffy opponent came back, he could fend him off while Kiersa moves onward. Seemed like she preferred to keep him closer, so he's be more like a body guard as much as possible in this case!
[break][break]
All the while, looking for hazards or any sign of a hostage as they moved through the area.
