First Impressions [Kanna/Saga]

You sure you can keep up with a woman like me~?

“Hahahahah, just what are you doing with that equipment there Kanna~?” Snickering at the peculiar reasons that her protégé showed for the privacy that the woods offered to them, Maya couldn’t help but shake her head and smile as she tried to imagine exactly what the young woman was doing in her workouts that she needed to worry about wrecking the items she was using, and found herself picturing the green eyed gal wailing on a treadmill or cross trainer with the free weights as she did so.
“I suppose you’re right though, people don’t tend to complain if a tree or three goes missing once in a while~?” Tilting her smirking face to the side as she confirmed that the idea was at least good in principle, as she had indicated earlier with her comment about having more of a chance to cut loose, the dark dish hummed as she remembered the odd little hitch she had managed to play off in her own acts of outdoor adventure, and the violet vixen verified that she hadn’t had a significant issue despite the acts of vandalism she had committed upon nature.

“As for what we can do out in the wilds that you can’t do in the gym, there is the odd thing here and there…” Also having a mind full of ideas of how this external exercise could prove itself superior and a desire deep within her to show off as well, as Kanna seemed to still be a little reluctant to really engage with her new environment, Miss Nakajima gave her a sudden and striking demonstration of the value in the task as she paused and then flung herself forward with gusto toward the nearest sturdy tree. Leaping a none too inconsiderable distance with the subtle aid of her quirk and hitting the bark of it’s trunk, she once again relied upon the unusual gift that she had been given to climb it without ever needing to use her hands as she bounded between one stem and to the other, and eventually settled upon a branch of the tree which was a good twenty feet above the teen with a big grin on her face.

“Outdoors are definitely a better place to practice your free running at least~?” That little bout of exercise enough to set her pulse racing and provide a modest level of dew on her brow as well, the black beauty folded her arms across herself as she looked down upon the blonde beneath her and grinned at her feat, all whilst wondering just how much it had impressed the girl. This the kind of activity she had done as a little girl while she was playing and the foundation of the skills she had in the capability she boasted of now as a highly frenetic fighter and expert infiltrator, if the emerald eyed enchantress hoped to keep up with her in the city then she was going to have to match her in the woods, and hopefully by the time that Maya was done with her then she’d be well on her way toward achieving the latter…

“Oh, did you think your mentor was merely a pretty face~?” Certainly a soul who would have been lying if she didn’t lap up the praise she received from the teenager beneath the trunk she had climbed so swiftly, whilst Miss Murasaki loved to play for a crowd which probably explained her sporty habits in her youth it felt like Kanna’s awe was something that tasted especially delectable to her and pushed her to flaunt herself even more as the black fell backward and began to show off more of her gymnastic skill in a rather boastful fashion.
“I wouldn’t say you’d be much of a hero if you couldn’t do something like this~?” The branch beneath her like a beam or bar in the hands of an acrobat, the dark dish smirked as she toppled backward just enough to throw her weight behind her and then arced her body around, hooking herself around the timber shaft with her legs whilst her hands splayed from either side to steady herself, and the figure in the foliage was able to look down upon her student from an inverted position with a smile ever present on her face as she did so.

“Do you think you can~?” Hanging from the branches with her long locks framing her face, Maya cocked her head to one side as the blonde beneath her seemed to ask if she should be joining her up there and wasn’t entirely opposed to the idea, if she was capable of that of course. However, even if she wasn’t that didn’t mean she was going to look on her negatively, far from it really.
“Don’t worry if you can’t…. I make it look easy bit that doesn’t mean it is~?” The agility she possessed something that she was proud of, almost as much so as her raw power or ability with weapons and martial arts, the ebony enchantress had no large expectation that her emerald eyed student would be able to keep up with her in any of those regards really, at least not yet.

“Though I will say, as a student of mine, I’ll make sure you have the option before I send you back to that school~” Confident she could get the better of Kanna if she put her mind to it with a relative sense of ease, perhaps to the point of arrogance in fact, to Miss Murasaki this lovely lass was a raw lump of clay that could be moulded into any image she wanted. “You just have to give me your best, and I promise that I’ll make sure you get mine as well~” She was a bud filled with infinite potential to blossom, and that was nothing to be ashamed of at all, and was in many ways the reason she had agreed to take on a student really. Perhaps it was a little vain but it might have been nice to shape someone in her own image because, after all, it was quite the image to behold, now wasn’t it?

“Oh~?” Flaunting her abilities in the foliage but never quite expecting that the emerald eyed lass would take her up on the chance to follow her, Maya blinked for a second as her prideful protégé began to climb the tree after her and grinned a moment later, finding an odd sense of enjoyment in the image that unfolded. Mostly joking about the idea of her student joining her in this place, despite how wobbly the younger woman looked as she began to climb the black beauty made no effort to dissuade her from her course, and instead found herself intrigued by the effort she showed.

“That’s the spirit~!” Rolling herself back onto the branch she had been hanging from and then draping herself across it on her stomach in manner reminiscent of a fairy or a nymph or something of the sort from an old painting, the sable siren smiled and called out a few words of encouragement and approval as Kanna started to clamber her way upward with less art and grace than she had shown, and yet to the violet eyes of the vixen she looked none the less impressive for that fact. That defiant determination that shone in the eyes of the girl something that was very familiar and yet also something that Miss Murasaki could admire as well, she was left wondering how many times she had shown it herself when someone had tried to stop her doing something because she was ‘just’ a girl or for some other frivolous reason, it was like looking into a dazzling mirror and enough to leave her with a quiet sense of awe as she observed that steady climb.

“You’re not going to let it beat you though, are you?” Resting her cheek on her palm as she waited for her student to reach the level that she had climbed to and stifling a chuckle when the teen criticized about the tallness of the tree, Maya looked relaxed as her long hair washed over her shoulders and wore a smile on her face, and continued to both watch and call to her student as she lounged around.
Her stubbornness is pretty cute, isn’t it? Amused in a way by the scene because it felt like it had been a long time since she had the chance to lark about in a manner like this with someone she liked, the dark delight couldn’t help but muse about whether this was what it felt like to have a younger sibling as she watched someone strive so hard to keep up with her in a clumsy fashion, and felt herself growing a little placer to the green eyed gal as a result of this. It was nice to be an inspiration, she supposed?

“Heheheheh, you show that trunk who’s boss~” Chuckling softly as her young apprentice clambered her way upward defiantly, the ebony enchantress encouraged her charge to continue her route to meet her even if it wasn’t exactly how she had planned their lesson going, and instead was amused by the courage and pluck that the girl was showing.
“You’re almost there girl~” Tilting her head as she remained on her branch like a panther lounging after filling it’s tum with an antelope, there really wasn’t much that she could do other than call out to the girl as she moved on her way upward steadily but Maya tried not to be impatient as she waited, eager to get to something more exciting but at the same time doing what she could to be supportive in an event that seemed important to her.

“Whoa there~!” That image of relaxation seeming to slip a little when the blonde seemed to lose her grip and give a definitely and fear-inducing image of an imminent fall, the first instinct of the fox in the foliage was to lunge forward to grab her, but as she jolted and extended an arm she saw that her young ward might not need her help as much as she initially expected. Blood pumping as she seemed to instinctively call upon her quirk like a driver revving the engine of their car as they waited for the light to change, just as she was about to lunge forward and drag Kanna up to meet her Miss Murasaki noticed the way she clung to the trunk and denied the efforts of gravity, and breathed a small sigh of relief at this fact.

“Should sempai give you a hand~?” Shaking her head a little as she recognised the effort of the eager emerald-eyed lass and hoped that she was secure, while it looked to her like the girl with the green gaze was intent on continuing under her own steam and that was enough for her to ease her quirk Maya pulled herself along the branch and reached toward the girl with a steady hand, and left it hanging in case her stubborn student needed it. Already impressed by her spirit even if her skill in scaling trees left something to the imagination, the dark dish was happy to aid her on the last ‘step’ of her journey, but also didn’t want to crowd her either. She just hoped that dogged determination didn’t mean her protégé would put her pride ahead of a literal and nasty looking fall…

A woman after my own heart~ The hand that the young heroine offered to her stubborn student lingering for a second after Kanna refused the assist, Miss Murasaki eased it back to her and smirked with a slight sense of satisfaction with what she saw, before shifting her position to allow her fellow femme the room to climb up alongside her more easily.
“That’s my girl~” Appreciating the bull headed attitude more than she let on, though she was happy to offer what she could to support her amazing apprentice, that gall and courage under fire was a quality she would have had a harder time fostering if it was absent, and as such while the emerald enchantress was a little rough around the edges the experience had only made her teacher surer that she had made the right choice in selecting her to pass her gifts onto.

“Hahahaha, I’m sure I can teach you a couple of things to speed you up, babe~” The breathless blonde heaving hard when she finally came to rest next to her and offering what seemed like a subtle compliment in the way she reflected on her path, Maya rested her own rear on the branch next to the bright eyed beauty and looked her over, silently enjoying that look of exertion that highlighted her fine features as she laughed and offered the girl the chance to improve upon her parkour abilities in the near future.
“But you’ve definitely got it where it counts, otherwise you wouldn’t be sitting next to me…” That skill only like the icing on the cake to the mulberry mistress and in her opinion the core of her being already seeming like she had plenty of what she needed to succeed, even though it felt a bit weird to be assuming the role of a mentor the lilac lady opted to add a little note to confess the impression that had been made on her, and hoped Kanna took it to heart really.

“Hehehehe, well I think we should take a min to… Enjoy the view~?” Not in much of a rush to continue their work for a moment though, as Kanna asked what their next task was in a breathy fashion the black beauty looked her over and let out a short chuckle, and decided that it would probably be a good idea to give her a few moments to steady herself after this little warm up before they got to the ‘meat’ of their matter. The violet vision of the vixen moving away from the girl with the green gaze as she took this opportunity to let her get a nice taste of the splendour that surrounded her, though Miss Murasaki herself was more than used to taking in rather breath-taking sights from high places due to her preference for altitude, she suspected her student who had struggled up the tree might not be quite so experience.

“This is the fruit of your labour, after all~?” Really rather a lush view extending from their perch, from the lofty position they found themselves in one could spy the holiday home that the two had travelled from as well as the scenery around them, which included the slopes of the mountain they were standing on and the lush vegetation that surrounded its base. It really rather an interesting sight if one had an eye for the beauty of nature, one might be able to spy a few cherry blossoms and other natural Japanese wonders waiting in the woods, and for a more practical purpose get a better lay of the land in case they needed to move around it in haste later on…

“Heheheh, and just what sort of thing would you like me to call you~?” Tilting her head at the girlish moniker that she had taken to calling the blonde, for one reason or another Miss Murasaki felt possessed to refer to her protégé in such casual fashions and she didn’t really understand why, though was happy to entertain alternatives that her young friend might be able to suggest to her.
“Or maybe there’s some things you want me to be teaching you, babe~?” Some part of her seeming to sense that the girl was more interested in the connotations of such a casual use of a nickname rather than the words themselves and that guess most assuredly helped by the hue that shone from the cheeks of her fellow femme, even though the black beauty knew she was keeping up her bad and bawdy behaviour she couldn’t help but lock her own vivid violet eyes lock on the green gaze for a second or two of suggestion, wearing a smirk the whole while as she dared the younger girl to call her bluff.

“I suppose I didn’t introduce you to the full range of amenities when we got there, did I?” Other captivating sights seeming to snatch their attention away quickly however, as the younger woman beside her seemed to notice the none too humble home from which they had set out on their journey, Maya smiled as she looked that way with her with a knowing look in her eye, and wondered if her perky protégé had noticed the real special treat that awaited her after a long day, but guessed it was probably hard from the angle they sat at for now.
“Though there’s plenty of time for that later~?” Licking her lips softly as she imagined the two of them enjoying the facilities to their fullest later on and then shaking her head as she tried not to dwell too much on certain enticing aspects of what the house had to offer, the dark dish decided it would be better to focus on that a little bit later rather than detract from the fun that lay ahead of them right now, and smirked as she left a little mystery waiting for the little miss sitting on the branch next to her. It would be a shame to show too much of her hand now, wouldn’t it?
