The peppy music played in Yasashi's ears, a spring in his step and a smile on his face, he hadn't been in this good a mood in a while. There was still some tension at school; his foray into publically demonstrating his quirk had the obvious results. His quirk inspired fear; he was intimately aware of that, but it was the fact that his classmates eyed him a bit more carefully while at the same time his closest friends stood by him that he realized he was handling his own misgivings better and better every day. He'd started wearing the ghostfire on his face as more a fashion statement than anything, it was a way to practice controlling its shape.
That jolly mood of his had taken him all the way to "Rivers" a small cafe set into a strip mall a dozen blocks south of UA High. There, among the scent of freshly brewed coffee and mild teas was a vast array of classical literature, wafting mist of freshly burned incense, and a dozen small tables centered around a dais intended for dramatic readings. Yasashi went to the desk and greeted the owner with a broad smile. They shook hands and he ordered a coffee; black west-mountain blend with a heaping helping of honey. He turned, passing a pair of women who were talking quietly. One of them was a familiar looking woman with silver hair; she had these huge glasses on that made her look like one of those super models. Yasashi paid her no mind, he had one goal, the small shelf of books on the far right. He peered through it and found what he was looking for, picking it up gingerly before walking over to sit down. He glanced up and saw that the silver haired woman was gone, only the dark haired girl remained. He glanced away and found a wide enough seat for him to sit in.
Lowering his tremendous mass down he relaxed into a chair, contenting himself with opening up the small book and beginning to read. [Petals to Yogumo] was a tragic love story of a samurai burdened with a sense of honor and a troubled mind. His brief adventure as a warrior before being stricken with what was probably some manner of mental illness. He eventually found love in a woman posing as an inkeeper but whom had actually assassinated her father to take over the local bandit gangs. Their whirlwind romance ends in tragedy when he discovers she is a criminal and is struck with a fit of madness. Instead of succumbing to the madness and murdering her-while also sparing those who might suffer her ways-he ends his own life to spare her. The story ends with her mourning him and turning the criminals she had drawn to her side to use their ill gotten gains and skills to protect the region.
There was some debate among scholars about this story being a pseudo origin story for the modern day ideal of Yakuza. Yasashi paid little thought to the significance; he was bawling like a baby after all. He sniffed hard as his gigantic-ness hunched over the book, tears peppering his knees.
"Sshhbuutifull..." He rubbed his eyes. One of the waiters laughed and handed him a fresh coffee.
"You alright Yasashi-san?" They asked.
"'course!" He blustered. The wait staff laughed again and one pointed to the dais.
"Read us a little!" One called. The others clapped. Yasashi lowered his head, turning a bit pink, but they wouldn't let those icy blues deter them. One tried to drag his enormity over to the spot only to have Yasashi surrender and walk over himself. He sat down, opened the book to one of his favorite passages; and began to read.
"Sakura upon her shawl, I dashed it aside; its pale light shameful in the glow of her beauty. She was like moonlight upon fresh snow, shadowy velvet cascaded just past her ears. The men of the village said it made her look boyish; but I saw for what it was, a severe beauty, sharp as the blade upon my waist. She smiled at me, ice in my veins, hot sake in my gullet, ants up my spine, a blaze in my mind. Helpless," He said, looking up. Those present were silent as the grave, watching the frightening-looking giant read with such... intensity.

As Sagi walked into the little cafe ahead of her, she found herself walking into a strangely silent room. Normally the place would be bustling with line, patrons talking loudly as they enjoyed their respective drinks. This place had always been strangely calming to her. A sense of community among those around her made her feel... calm. Yet today it was eerily silent, and she was normally one to enjoy the silence.
She adjusted the red glasses perched on her nose, looking around until she finally spotted the source of her discomfort. The boy in the center of the room was reading a passage of an old tale she knew all too well. It was told and shared often within her true community. She couldn't help but roll her eyes with the slightest of huffs escaping her lips as she turned instead to the barista leaning against the counter, wishing to listen in to Yasahi's read.
"Excuse me" Sagi stated lowly, attempting to get her attention but to no avail. She didn't want to raise her voice so as to not disturb the read and be rude, but the more she tried to get the girls attention and failed, the more irritated the young woman became. Another sigh escaped her lips as she spoke up.
"I wouldn't hang on every word of such a silly story. The man talks of his love for a woman he never really knew. What he fell in love with, was nothing more than a lie. The imagery doesn't even represent her at all, only the feelings he has for a false ideal." Her words broke through the silence like a heated knife cutting through bread. The barista at the counter finally noticed her, looking at her with an angry expression as the read was interrupted.
"Oh you're awake~" She would state smartly, to which the woman would blush and angrily grab an empty cup. She didn't need to ask Sagi what her order was, as she did immediately recognize the young girl who had started to become a regular at this particular cafe.
"buzzkill..." The barista was not being careful with the drink in the slightest, sloshing it around this way and that as she made it, hap haphazardly slapping a lid on it before sliding it towards Sagi. The raven haired girl put the coins on the counter, grabbed a napkin to clean off her cup and turned back around to the room. Some patrons looked upset, but one in particular had a devious smirk to his lips.
"Young miss welcome back~ You sound like you know the story in and out! why don't you come and do a read with young Yasahi-san hunh? The two of you can play the role of the l-o-v-e-r-s~" The man teased the both of them, hoping to lighten up the mood after Sagi had so rudely interrupted an otherwise beautiful moment.
"I d- wh-what? Get your head out of your ass old man." She huffed as she turned up her nose. However, instead of leaving the cafe, she found an empty seat and perched herself with an elegant little huff as she placed her cappuccino on the table.

Yasashi didn't notice the girl with the dark hair move to check with the barista. The silver haired woman was gone too. He was caught up in the quiet appreciation of literature. That was until a loud sigh broke the momentary silence; followed by the voice of a girl snapping across the room. Everyone turned to look at the source angrily; her words were sharp and punctuated with little room or desire for argument. He just...stared at her as she spoke, while everyone else grumbled darkly about the buzzkill in the room. Yasashi tilted his head; a thought occurring to him though. He stepped off the stool (it wasn't very far to step off) and made his way toward the barista. She looked up at him but his eyes were on the raven haired girl. He hadn't even heard the frankly embarrassing thing that the man had said to her that caused her to storm off.
"Need something?" The flushed barista asked, looking up at Yasashi with a bit more than curiosity on her face.
Yasashi didn't notice, instead he smiled his usual jolly smile and ordered a black coffee. She served it up and he turned to walk toward the girl with dark hair. His eyes a little squinted now and a smile playing on his face. It was that awkward sort of expression that one made when they had an amusing suspicion that was yet to be confirmed. He stopped at her table and drew out a seat, sitting down without thinking. He tilted his head to the right just a little more before finally speaking, a small laugh in his voice.
"You know... only someone who's read the story over and over would know Yogumo's Folly that well," Her argument wasn't exactly new per-se. Most people who've read the book enough understood the problem with the titular hero, Yogumo, and his one-sided romance. He placed the book down in front of her. "My name's Yasashi," He said, extending a hand. "What's your name?" It was an absolute delight to meet someone with a truly deep appreciation for literature, a love of stories, though he was a little biased on the genre, not that he'd admit it. Romance novels just made him happy. There were so many emotions to invoke, so many thoughts to trigger, so many... he pushed the excitement down. Let's get a name first, Yasashi. | TAG WORDS NOTES

The man simply laughed it off as Sagi turned up her nose and walked away from him and the group gathered around Yasahi. it wasn't long however, before the big man got down from his stool, closing the book and going off to order his own coffee. The man nudged the patron next to him with a toothy grin as he made a motion of his head towards Yasahi, who was now going to sit with Sagi.
It seemed that small act eased a lot of tension in the air caused by the raven haired girl. Sagi herself had taken to looking at her phone with one hand, holding the warm drink in the other. However, when Yasashi came over and sat down she would raise an eyebrow towards him. At first she said nothing, continuing to surf her phone but then sighing heavily as he spoke, calling on her attention. She flipped the phone over to hide the screen before looking up towards Yasashi.
'wow... he's a lot bigger up close... how friggen tall is he!' The girl thought to herself before he would speak to her about knowledge of the book. She just sat back in her chair, crossing her arms over her chest and eyeing the boy curiously. Weird, why was her breath caught in her throat? She stayed silent, taking in as much information as she could manage about him before Yasashi finished speaking and gave her a moment to interject.
"First of all, it's rude to just assume I'd let you sit there, and second of all, I never said I didn't like the story, just that Yogumo's an idiot for not getting to know her before going head over heels." She stated as her eyes would then dart towards the hand extended towards her. Sagi however kept her hands right where they were. She didn't know this guy beyond the name he had given her. There was no reason to trust him enough to give him her hand. Being a thief, that single motion could end everything for her.
"...Sagi." The raven haired villainess said cautiously, leaning forward against the table now, resting her elbows as she reached for her cup and brought it to her lips.
"So... wanting me to elaborate on my earlier statement? I hope you aren't here to pick a fight. I don't think anyone here could pick you up off the floor~" She bluffed, her tone lightening up a bit on that statement to indicate that she was just teasing him. She took another sip of her cappuccino, and once more would look above the cups lid.
'I wonder if he's ripped under there....'

She gave him a bit of a once over; her body posture suggesting that he may have made a mistake. He blinked, looking down at the cup in his hand and around the room just in time for her to sigh and put down her phone. Her eyes were really dark, was the first thought that came to his mind. It was a stark contrast to the near-white blue of his own eyes that made most people decidedly uncomfortable. One of his friends had said it made them feel like he was staring through them. His eyes diverted just a little out of instinct when she nearly made contact. She spoke, and he shrank a little. A 'oh boy I'm in trouble' smile unintentionally scrawling its way across his face. He scratched the back of his head and was about to apologize when she offered her name.
He blinked a few times, he'd actually hoped that he could have a little debate with her about it. He didn't disagree with her point on some levels, but... he rubbed the back of his head one more time and offered a flustered grin. "I uh..." He looked down at the cup in his hands; "I actually wanted to hear your thoughts, yes," He glanced at the crowd, "And no, probably not, so go easy on me, if you don't mind?" He chortled a little, feeling a little on the spot. He would have burst into laughter any other time but he really had not thought through his approach, well, at all, there goes his boisterous personality getting the better of him again. He rubbed his cheek and looked to the side.
"Sagi huh?" He raised an eyebrow and sipped at his coffee. He didn't say anything, instead he let the mild tease hang in the air while he waited. It was bluster, mostly, trying to cover up for the absolute horrifying embarrassment he was feeling. If it wasn't for the fact that bowing at right this very second would probably break the chair and table simultaneously, his face would be against the table right this moment asking forgiveness for being so helplessly rude. That said... he prayed that maybe the bluster would pay off, it would be nice to have someone to talk to about books for once, even if he never met this person again after today. He sipped again at his drink, trying to hide the tremble of his left arm and the sweat on the side of his neck. | TAG WORDS NOTES

'His eyes are like ice...' She thought to herself as she gingerly nursed her drink. She didn't get a good look at them however as Yasashi was quick to shift his gaze so that he didn't make any eye contact with her. Was he shy? There's no way someone shy would come walktzing over to her table the way he did... so what? maybe an eye based quirk? That would be unfortunate, given the boy's size.
'Why is he so distracting?' She continued to think to herself when a sudden memory came to the forefront of her mind. once that wasn't all that old, a discussion between herself and her female cousin. The two had recently gone on a job together and got along extremely well. As such, the two would talk the entire evening away when they weren't actually on the job.
"So Sagi-chan~ Do you have a type?" Her cousin had asked her, a bright smirk playing her cousins lips as the two would jump from one rooftop to another, keeping pace with each other, regardless of the terrain they were faced with.
"Type? What do you mean?" Sagi had never been in a relationship before, and therefore had never really put much thought into the kind of man she might be after.
"You knoooow~ What kind of boy are you holding out for~? Is it the nerdy type, the hero? Ou or maybe you're batting for the other team~ Don't worry, I won't tell uncle-" The girl had started, only to be promptly cut off by Sagi who had spoken a little louder than she had intended.
"Sora! It's not like that! I've never really thought about it you know? The clan keeps me busy with work so I don't really know-"
"Come on Sagi-chan~ I'm sure there's a type~ I mean what get you o-"
"SORA!!" Sagi protested again, her face going more and more red until the color of her blush would match her face
'Is this what Sora meant by a type? Is that why I feel so light headed...?' Mind back in the present, Sagi had to pull her eyes away from Yasashi forcefully, trying hard to keep her breathing at a normal pace. Though the longer he sat there and spoke, the faster her heart would start to beat and the faster her lungs would scream for oxygen.
"Right. The story. Well, it's stupid isn't it? to give up everything for someone that you don't even truly know. How can you expect anything in return? Let alone love... All he had for her was an obsession and the way they wrote him into the story made him seem completely useless. He gave up everything for her..."
She wanted to say he had been written like a complete incompetent, hanging over her every word and basing his desire more on her looks than who she truly was. Though, how ironic was it that Sagi herself was struggling with a silent obsession over his type, when she knew nothing about him. His teasing her over her name didn't help anything at all either... she had to bring her cup back up to her lips, just to stop what would have been an audible inhale for oxygen.

Yasashi took note of the small movement, ripping her eyes away from him as he glanced over at her. He exhaled and resigned himself to probably scaring her off. It was impolite not to look someone in the eye when you were talking to them. His father had made that abundantly clear when he was a boy. The results were obviously mixed in that regard; but ettiquite was important to him now. He cleared his throat and tried to sit up straight, placing his hands on the table around his cup and listening to her while she spoke, utterly oblivious of how flustered she was. He tilted his head, making a bit of a face, he'd never heard that argument before.
A thoughtful expression crossed his features; "But isn't love doing something without expecting anything in return? He gave up everything because he loved her, full stop, controlling another persons heart is impossible... I'd like to think anyway," He rubbed his nose anxiously before letting out a small but boisterous; "Bah HA! A quirk maybe? How terrifying!" He chortled a little bit, relaxing at an expression of his own utterly manic sense of humor. The jolly blonde giant stilled a little as she continued; "Useless? That makes the story seem so sad..." He said, looking down at the book he'd set down between the two of them. He looked up at her and caught her eyes. They were so... intense. Not like his own which were painful to look at, they were something to get lost in.
Lost in.
He blinked and looked down at the book. Imagining Yogumo getting lost in...
He felt a bit of heat rise to his face.
Bloody hell what was he doing?! In what reality was it appropriate to approach a young woman, who was alone, at a coffee shop, and just sit down across from her. And talk about romance novels of all things?! His mother would have killed him on the spot for doing something so arrogant and stupid! A young woman. He was just sitting there, yammering away like a buffoon to a young woman, not a classmate, not a coworker, not a peer, a woman. He coughed a few times and sought to clear his throat, his eyes watering a little bit as the sudden realization hit him like a sledgehammer to the chest. He took a deep breath and tried to settle himself, grasping the table. He could run? Running was an option. Make up an excuse and just go-
Why was she looking at him like that?! Was she expecting something? If he fled now, was he making some kind of error? What error? His mind almost began one of its dangerous trips into the labyrinth of strategems and tactics, trying to read into her actions only for him to pull out at the last possible moment, catching himself in the spiral. He exhaled through his nostrils and took a sip from his coffee; "S-sorry, choked a little," He said, hiding it with a laugh, he was so dead-beyond hope, beyond saving! All he could do was see it through until she lost her temper and ended him! He sipped again and felt himself settle a little. His mind screaming to find a way out of this mess; it was all he could do to just... speak. "I've... never thought of him as so hopeless before," He managed, "Do you really think feeling that way makes you do foolish things?" He asked without thinking. | TAG WORDS NOTES

'What's WRONG with me!? Sagi, time to get it together'
The girl coaxed herself as she finally put her cup back down on the table, much harder than she had originally intended. It could easily be played off as her getting passionate about their discussion though. Her free hand came up and moved about expressively as she spoke about her point. "Sure when you love someone, you don't expect anything in return. But at what point does it turn into obsession? When does that line get crossed? The way Yogumo was described in the story bordered on the line between love and obsession. If you look at the entire thing from Himari's point of view, Yogumo was a stalker. He always knew where she was, always knew what she was up to and was always watching. Claiming it was all because of love.
The only reason she mourned him in the end was because of stockholm syndrome. He had been around her for so long, it was such a sudden change to her routine that she mourned his loss. I'm just saying that if this was supposed to be a true love story, they would have written Yogumo and their relationship a little bit more realistically. Made them struggle for a forbidden love and truly turn the book into a romantic tragedy. " She explained without missing a beat. However, before she continued her face would start to turn red and she would put her hand back down. With nothing else to do with it though, she wrapped her hand around her cup once more, fidgeting with it before taking another sip. She almost had to spit out her drink, though forced herself to swallow it when she noticed Yasashi coughing. His face was so red, and by his motions it looked like he was choking. He hadn't been eating anything though so, what the hell was going on? She pushed back her seat, getting up to her feet and making her way around the table. She hadn't really thought about it much, and before she knew it she found herself at his side and putting her hand on his shoulder. "Hey are you okay..? You weren't even eating anything, the hell did you choke on." It wasn't unusual for some of the homeless older men she helped to start choking like this when cold air filled their lungs. Some had other medical conditions like water around their lungs or bacterial infections that caused them to cough much in the same way, so it wasn't as if she wasn't used to dealing with it as best she could unprepared. Thankfully though, Yasahi seemed to be okay as he straightened up once more, reassuring her that he was okay before talking about Yagumo once more, and about how he had never thought of him as useless. The words seemed to fall on deaf ears however as Sagi's hand had to move from Yasahi's shoulder down his arm as he sat up straight once more. 'oh god oh god oh goooooooooooood'
She was mentally screaming at herself as she felt the boy's muscular frame beneath his shirt. Sagi's face turned several shades more red as she let her hand linger for a moment, before forcefully pulling it away, bringing it up to her own face as if she was about to sneeze, but was in fact using it to cover her blush (and the canon anime nosebleed). With a sigh she sat back down on her seat, pulling the chair back up to the table and switching her hand out for her coffee cup once more. No matter how empty it was getting. 'Holy hell if the rest of him is like that...my heart is going to beat out of my chest... why is it making feel so weird!?'
She thought to herself, unable to focus on the question she was being asked. She felt like she was living in a cotton ball, everything around her light and hazy. She couldn't focus on his statement about the story's character, until his voice just barely made it through this odd feeling of hers. She peered up above her cup, looking at him with clouded eyes as she hid as best she could behind the cup. "I- d...do. If he had instead taken the time to know her, instead of just watch her, his love might have been returned. And if it wasn't, then it would of freed his heart to move on and love another. Just because he thought he knew her through her daily patterns, doesn't mean he actually knew who she was at all..."She finished, glancing down at her cup now rather adamantly. She couldn't embarrass herself here by acting like a blubbering idiot in front of all these people![/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote]

She was standing behind him as he fought to get his senses together. He cleared his throat and rubbed his face, shaking off the temporary dazed sensation. Her hand was on his arm, he could feel it linger, even drift down a bit, though he did his damndest to pay it as little mind as possible. He looked down at his cup and waited for her to sit back down before he looked back up at her again. He took another breath and tried to relax, just in time to catch her peering at him over her cup. She started talking again, much to his blessed relief, and he realized that he might actually be past the point of her murdering him for interrupting her coffee break.
"When you put it that way... yes, it does sound like he was kind of a stalker," Yasashi said, feeling a little ashamed for having admired the kind of romantic love that the book depicted; "I have to admit, the romantic ideals of that time were very different and... frankly... were focused on men," He said with a look of distaste on his face. His frown creased his features and he tried not to show that he was a little irritated by the idea. "A new perspective, one I'd never thought of," He said silently, reaching out and taking the book in one hand. He flipped it open and tilted his head, eyeing the pages. "Swept up in chivalry I guess." He said a little sadly.
He glanced up at her again and blinked a few times, trying to get the odd grudging feeling out of him. He squinted a little and couldn't help but break into a jolly smile. He took the not-subtle hint from her in the only way he could, the wrong way, "BAHAHAH!" the blubbering idiot guffawed; "Suppose that's on me then, complete stranger marches up and injects himself into your time, doesn't even know you. I've got your name now though, right?" He chortled, rapping his knuckles on the table with another laugh; "Alright then!" He leaned in and squinted at her; "What's your favorite book here?" He asked, gesturing to the cafe beyond.
Most of the folk in the cafe knew Yasashi, they knew he was loud, boisterous, and too jolly for his own good. Even so, a few of them were staring at him as he unintentionally played it cool with a young woman his age. His momentary panic being replaced with the only setting he had; goofball. | TAG WORDS NOTES

Sagi just promptly nodded her head when the larger boy agreed to her idea. It seemed it wasn't as common as he might have thought to think this way... In truth, Sagi had been able to plug herself into that story no matter how many times she had read it. Maybe it was because she inserted herself into the book that she felt like it was a much larger tragedy than it was, but it still never had sat quite right with her.
How could anyone fall in love with someone they didn't truly know? How could Sagi ever find someone for herself when the time came? It wasn't as if she could let this person truly know her... If they found out she was a member of the Yakuza, surely they'd either run or have her jailed. She absolutely refused to get together with any of the boys within her clan either, as most of the ones around her age were total pricks. So she understood how Himari must have felt in the book. The sadness she felt over his death must just have been a sad nostalgia.
She couldn't say all of this to Yasashi of course, but if she were in a right mind, that sadness might have appeared on her face. Currently however, her mind was far from the tragedy of the book, and instead was on the muscular form of the large man in front of her. Her cheeks were still glowing a bright red as even her eyes would start flickering from black to red as she chanced peeks with her enhanced eyesight at the boy's muscular detail.
"I don't think i would have survived very long in that era to be honest~ A world run by men is entirely laughable. I'm not saying that all men are useless, but if women are never heard, how are you ever going to attain a world where everyone can be happy? Besides, I'm way too strong willed to be tied down like women of the day were~ It would really take someone strong to reign me in." She added that last little bit with a smirk curling onto her lips. She'd finish her cappuccino and put the empty cup back on the table, revealing how truly flustered the girl was by his presence. However, with Yasashi bursting into laughter like that and passing off his appearance as rude, she could easily explain the ruffled look on her face to his interruption.
No matter how hard she tried, she just couldn't compose herself the way she wanted too. It was only thanks to Yasashi's constant distractions that she wasn't already making a pass at him. How shameful would that be?
"Oh... uhm. I havent read many of... the books here but, I'd have to say my favorite novel is "Where the Red Leaves Grow". I don't think I've managed to get through that story without bursting into tears, even if I know the outcome. Have you read it?" She admitted, bringing her hand up to her chin as she thought back to the book. It was a slight moment of reflection, one that allowed her to take in a deep breath and steel herself.

Yasashi sipped again at his own drink before glancing over at the waitress who was passing by. He smiled and she came over with a few packets of honey. He thanked her and tore one open, pouring the contents into his coffee. Boy, he liked sweet things, he chuckled and took another sip after stirring it and looking up at Sagi. He tilted his head to the right and nodded; "It doesn't make much sense to only listen to half the population," He said frankly, "We live in a different world though," He laughed, setting his cup down and leaning back a little, "I have a little sister who's in much the same boat as you, she'd rather die than live in a world like that I imagine," He beamed proudly.
His mind trying not to think too hard about the situation glossed over the comment about her needing someone strong to reign her in. That might have been too much for him to handle. Instead, she sat down the cup with a bit of a flush to her cheeks. Perhaps she had been a bit offended by his initial approach but she was, to his surprise, relaxing. He hadn't intended to startle her earlier, he should find a way to apologize. He scratched the back of his head and opened his mouth only for her to cut him off with a response about her favorite book. His hand fell a little and his mouth shut as he listened. She'd forgiven him? Just like that?
"I uh... no I haven't," He glanced over his shoulder at the bookshelves, "Is there a copy here?" He asked, looking back at her. "If it moves you so, it must be very good, it'd be a shame not to read it! Bwahaha!" He chortled, excitement getting the better of him. He hadn't read something deeply moving in a good long while, it's what happens when you read nearly everything you can get your hands on, you start to run out of new things. Where the Red Leaves Grow, huh? he mused. | TAG WORDS NOTES

"Well, it's something I'd actually fight for." Sagi admitted as Yasashi mentioned what she might do if they lived in a male dominated world. Hell, they'd fought for their rights time and again over multiple centuries. She doubt things would fully go back to that. Though if they ever did, he was damned right she'd rather die. Funny how most people classified her as a villain, and she'd be one of the first to rise up and fight for whats right.
'labels are stupid anyways.' She thought to herself with a bit of an awkward smile as she went on to mention her favorite book to the boy. Where the red leaves grow. It was an American written book, but one that she treasured deeply. Family was very important to her. Whether it was by blood or through the clan, and this book really made her feels the depths of those bonds.
Yasashi then asked if there was a copy here, and she could only smile as she shook her head.
"I doubt it. Not only is it pretty old, it's written by an American, so it's in English. Here, let me see your phone." She stated as she extended her hand towards Yasashi, waiting for him to give her the device so that she could put the information in for him. If she remembered right, there was an old site she used to use to rip some of these novels off of the internet.

Yasashi nodded. She was certainly a fighter. Everything about her said that she had the strength of heart to take a blow and deliver one if it meant standing up for what she believed in. Yasashi was many things, a coward and a pacifist being just a small drop in the bucket, but he was also an excellent judge of character. And though he sensed something...off about Sagi, he also could feel that she was truly good in her own way. That was enough for him. He returned her awkward smile with one of his own but frowned when she shook her head.
His eyes lit up when she explained; "My mother is from Great Britan! I know quite a bit of English actually!" He laughed, delighted. So she could understand English well enough to read difficult literature! That was fantastic. Perhaps they could have secret conversations that way. Yasashi felt a bit of warmth come to his face at the idea and he scratched his nose, clearing his throat before reaching into his breast pocket, pulling out the cellphone he kept on him. He forgot completely that he had the UA High School logo on the case. He handed it to her. "Here you go," He said brightly.
While she tinkered with his phone he rested his chin on his hand and glanced toward the counter. "Say... if you could have any kind of coffee, right now, what would it be?" He asked innocently, his thoughts more on just being friendly. He turned his head and looked at her again. Leaning forward as he was he was at eye level with her. Those cold, ferociously near-white eyes burned straight into her own. He grinned ear to ear, "I could really go for a frappuccino actually~ there's one they make here with mint in it!" He chortled. "So tasty~" | TAG WORDS NOTES

"Is she?" Sagi asked curiously with a tilt of her head. Honestly the only time she met someone from a different country was on the odd job she had followed her parents to when she was younger. Nowadays she didn't really get to talk to anyone which was totally fine by her. The only people she bothered spending any time getting to know, where the poor and the hungry that littered Nagano. She was fortunate enough to have skills that kept her alive and fed, these people not so much.
She gave a light shake of her head as she took Yasashi's phone and immediately opened up his internet browser, searching for the mobile download of the book she had suggested. It was rather hard to find seeing as the book itself was very old... but with some effort, she managed to find it and begin the download. Once that was done, she flipped out of the browser and instead went into his contacts list. She was silent and quick to put in her name and number, making it look like she was still searching for the book. Once she was done, she opened the browser back up to the download and handed the phone back to Yasashi. It would probably take him a bit to find out she'd left her number there... but she mused the thought of the look on his face when he found out.
Oh how she wanted to let that devious look escape her features as she yearned to see his face turn red... all she could do was bite her lower lip as she thought of the deed she had done.
"There. Its not a big file so it should be done pretty quickly." She said with a smile as she then looked back towards the cashier when Yasashi suggested another cup. She then looked down at her own phone and let out a sigh before placing it back into her pocket.
"If I had time to stay, I'd go for a caramel latte, but unfortunately I need to head to work. Maybe we can have coffee again sometime." Sagi stood up from her chair, moving to toss her now empty cup into the recycling before giving Yasashi a teasing wave and hurriedly making her way out of the shop. No doubt he would panic as she hadn't visibly left him her contact details for them to have coffee again.

She fiddled with his phone for a while and he paid it very little mind, his thoughts were elsewhere. He eagerly nodded when she asked; "Oh yes! Half-Japanese, which makes me a quarter I suppose! Though I certainly don't look like it BAHAHAHA!" He let out one of his signature belly laughs, clapping his abdomen with one hand and wiping a tear from his eye. He looked up when she gave him a easy smile and handed him the phone. Taking it, he looked at what she'd done, downloading the document to his phone. He opened it and smiled broad when he saw it pop up. This was going to be great! He couldn't wait to talk with her about it later.
Later. She was already ready to go, it looked like she had to be somewhere else which was understandable. They'd been talking for over an hour and he'd lost track of time. He blinked once and looked down at his phone. He had less than an hour to get back to campus and get on his own patrol! He stopped when she pointed out what drink she'd get if they kept going- "Again?"
He blinked a few times as she walked out the door. "W-wait, Sagi! Again?!" He called, the others in the cafe laughing a bit while he ran to the door. "A-again..." He slumped, his heartrate racing despite the weakness in his shoulders; "How am I supposed to see you again if I don't..." One of the patrons cleared his throat and pointed at his own phone. Yasashi stared at him, then looked down at the device in his hands. He turned it to his contact's screen and... there... in black and white. He stared for several seconds just to make sure it really was real before letting out a whoop that was met with another chorus of laps.
"I can't wait to see you again..." He said, closing his phone, paying his bill, and leaving for the night. He had work to do. | TAG WORDS NOTES
