The night before had been a long one. One of Sonya's associates had picked Narcissa up just before six in the evening. She'd arrived with her usual grace and poise, a gorgeous creature walking straight into Sonya's twisted lair. It went without saying that Sonya was pleased to have her around. It was nice to have someone she could think of as a friend and not just an asset. Who said villains could not have friends? Certainly; Narcissa kept her secrets, which was fine, but there was something positive there too. It was a shame though, she should have pushed a bit harder when they first met. Regardless; her visit wasn't for fun and games. Narcissa was working on a scheme to upset things a little in the central government and Sonya was in an apt position to get her connections. With the fraternity seeming to... favor her ...Sonya needed to take advantage of the tools at her disposal as much as possible.
So they met, and they worked, late into the night.
Sonya had nodded off at about three in the morning in the large meeting room that they had set aside for their little project. The well lit room was long with a single lengthy table down the center made out of fine wood. Comfortable rolling chairs lined each side and a projector was set in the center and ceiling to create on of ASTA Corporations signature holograms. The picture wasn't perfect, but it was an example of what ASTA was capable of. Sonya and Narcissa had spent several hours going over various ideas and theories of what they could throw into the situation eventually settling on a few rather pointed and carefully crafted rumors. They would have to use the media to manipulate the story and blow it out of proportion but all they needed to do was destroy a man's reputation. That wasn't hard.
Morning came with a gentle start; Sonya woke at around five, her body refusing to sleep past daybreak thanks to an internal clock built into her quirk. She was certain it was a way to make her suffer; she was at her weakest in direct sunlight. Fortunately, the walls were solid around them, no wretched light pouring in to cause mischief. She straightened herself up; adjusting her hair and unbuttoning the top button of her blouse to get a little air. She'd fallen asleep on one of the chairs with papers strewn out before her. No one had come in to check on them; the staff on the administrative level knew better than to bother her when she had guests. Primula was probably still asleep. Sonya got to her feet and glanced around, "Coffee..." She mumbled, stalking towards one end of the room and past where Narcissa was sleeping as well. "...Narcissa..." Sonya muttered and tapped her shoulder; "'Morning dearie~" She said, with a bit more clarity.
She shrugged and walked away, approaching a small stand where a coffee pot waited. With a few moments of work she got the water boiling and coffee dripping into the small caraffe. It wouldn't be long till they had something to clear their heads entirely. She leaned back against the counter and crossed her arms; smiling at Narcissa, "Early to rise so they say," Sonya quipped, chuckling and glanced down at the coffee. Something trembled through her legs, it was a gentle sensation, something she'd felt before. Her eyes went wide when the next one came and she looked up at Narcissa. How long had she been here? Not long... she took a step forward; "Wait, Narcissa don't get u-"
And the world began to tremble. | TAG WORDS NOTES

Alright, she would be able to get into that office when it came to the meeting and she would also be able to stay hidden for a bit. She could plan it later though and first check the office and plan the evidence a lot better. Hm, that was a better strategy as she looked at Sonya's papers and the notes Narcissa was making. She thought that the one who invited her in would have better ideas and another point of view than Narcissa had. Though the flower missed Barbados, she couldn't go back, being banished sucked but she did not want to be a lousy ambassador the whole time, so they were going to make a job for her here and god would she prove to be a very useful person, one step at the time, she would get this job and then she would aim for the next in a few months or maybe a year, she would have to see. All she needed was her whispers to do the work for her and she would see how far that would go.
She took a sip of her coke, or well that was the idea but the glass was empty and when she looked up, she noticed that Sonya had dozed off. She tried to find a clock before looking at her own phone, fine, she should have gone home. No rest for the wicked though, she would just have to go on and would see, but her eyes got heavy too and she leaned with her chin on her arms, finally putting her forehead on it and using the table and her arms as a pillow before she fell asleep rather quickly herself. She had probably not noticed thanks to her own enthusiasm how tired she was.
It felt like only five minutes when she heard her name and felt something on her shoulder and she got up, in the sense of putting her chin on her arms and looking a bit sleepy still. She wanted to stretch and was literally not aware of anything around her. She had no difficulty knowing where she was, only that a little of the natural light seemed to come in, probably blocked off in general, what time was it. She stood up from her chair and stretched her arms above her head and made sure to wake up... that's when she felt the thrembling and tried to grab for something. She had not noticed Sonya being close to her, now it was simply because she was sleepy, not entirely awake that she lost her footing. They had earthquakes like this in Barbados too, so this was something she wasn't unfamiliar with and yet she fell in someone's arms.

The walls were the first things to vibrate; the shaking working its way through the main body of the structure and beginning to work on the various items of furniture. The rolling chairs began to slide left and right as the building began to tremble. Sonya acted before she could think; throwing her body between Narcissa and her fall. Narcissa's back impacted with her arm as the coffee maker shuddered its way off the counter, smashing to pieces on the ground. The lights above began to rattle as Sonya's protective instincts kicked in; she curled herself inward, pulling Narcissa a little closer while keeping a knee firmly planted on the ground to keep from toppling over. A few intense heartbeats later...it was over. Silence returned and a small alarm began to blare in the distance. Her crews would be scampering to repair any damage.
Sonya steadied her breathing, relaxing her shoulders and letting the adrenaline burn through her system. The heady fog in her mind cleared rapidly; constant practice at keeping her cool had done wonders. She looked down at the weight in her arms she was suddenly aware of and couldn't help but smile a little. "Now, this is interesting," She murmured as Narcissa was likely coming out of her own surprise. She gently helped Narcissa to her feet but kept an arm around her waist; "Been curious about what you looked like at this angle, dearie~" She teased, a smug expression on her face. She held the woman there and took a good long look, there wasn't a lot of opportunities to appreciate a pretty thing like Narcissa up close and she wasn't about to give up this one right away. Though she had to admit that things had changed a little in the past few months since they'd met, she would have handily toyed with her when they had first met, but now the woman was a friend, a dear one. | TAG WORDS NOTES

She did not want to think, earthquakes did disasterous damage and she did not want to think about it at all. It made her homesick and simply afraid in general. Even if it were only a few seconds, she felt that she had to hold on to the arms that held on to her, digging her nails softly (so not cutting) into the skin of the person and shaking still a little, the former cat lady did not say anything. Her eyes were big and only stared without seeing anything. She wanted to be held for so many moments but everyone always betrayed her. It was at moments like these that she always realized how alone she was, that no one cared, but she would always go and do the next best thing for herself. Now she was held and she could not do anything but depend on Sonya. It took only so long before she realized it was Sonya holding her, holding her close and secure. She did not want to let go, this moment was not numb, this moment was something and yet she would have to go back to the loneliness.
"Is it?" Narcissa answered in the same fashion, it was interesting. She had not expected anyone to care about her wellbeing, no matter how friendly and supportive Sonya had been before, they would always pick themselves, even her family, so why would strangers not be the same? She would have to be helped up as she wasn't moving and tried to keep her balance. She blushed heavily when Sonya teased her, "Well I hope you have a good memory cuz it will likely not happen again." She did not say it mean, she said it short, obviously embarrassed by the comment and the smug expression. Narcissa wasn't good with flirting, it was a miracle how she met Eve, but she already figured out she was just easy, Antonio proved that, so better to push everyone away and save her own dignity.

Sonya chuckled a little; "I'm surprised, I didn't take you for a tsundere;" She cooed, tightening her grip a little around Narcissa's waist and pulling her just a bit closer. They were close enough that Narcissa would be able to see the various lenses inside of Ishtar's mute-pink eyes spin and readjust. Her fingers dug into the cloth of Narcissa's shirt and she pursed her lips into a coy grin; "Let me burn your face into my mind, then," She whispered, her eyes flicking left and right; taking in all the little details. The way her lips pouted, the gentle button curve of her nose; the way her eyelids hung naturally to give her a perpetually at ease expression. Her hair was thick and long hanging in a deep wave over her head. It was a stark contrast to the strands of silver that flowed in a thin river across her shoulders. Sonya tilted her head and took in the shape of her ears, the angle of her collarbone, everything. She finally let out a breath, still not having let go of her flustered accomplice. "...truly unforgettable..." She said in a low voice, her cocky smile returning. She still didn't let go, Narci would have to demand it. Sonya was perfectly content with holding a beautiful woman in her arms all day, after all. | TAG WORDS NOTES

Her cheeks remained bright red and she felt them burning which made it more embarrassing and stupid. "I-I don't even know what that means." Because it wasn't her first language and she had not been long enough in Japan to even know such geeky words. She tried to look away from Sonya but it was obvious that the dark chocolate woman was looking at the silver-haired fox and wondering what she meant to do and what this meant. It was taking very long and she wasn't sure how to end this, because well Sonya's eyes were everywhere over her and well it made her obvious flustered. "Did-did you see enough?" She wasn't sure if she should read anything in the way Sonya held her or the way she observed her because Narcissa did not want to think too much into her own vanity, did not want to be obvious vain and appreciating the effort of enjoying her beauty... in front of Sonya.
The fact that it was Sonya, the one who pulled her into this dark part of the game, the bright and reflecting light of the moon that guided her. It was not possible to think of this as a good idea, Narcissa could still fail, this was her first rodeo so to say in this situation. That meant villainy and besides how much would Sonya hates her if she knew everything? This was such a strange idea, she did not know how to respond, her cheeks remained bright red and the embarrassment kept going on for what felt like forever. The problem of this situation was that it seemed that Sonya enjoyed this and Narcissa did not want to push her away, she needed Sonya alright? If she wasn't there, Narcissa wouldn't be here and wouldn't have accomplished a few things and that was also it. Sonya was so dangerous and yet so important that Narcissa felt she was balancing on the edge of the abyss, then how would she continue? Backwards with no view or would she dare to jump?

Sonya's cocky smile widened slowly into a toothy grin. Narcissa was still held up by one arm; Sonya wasn't the strongest person in the world, but she was smart enough to take advantage of positioning to make it look easy. The woman in her arms had about six centimeters on her; not much, but enough in some ways. She laughed a bit when Narcissa flushed more; the woman struggling with the strange word; "It means you can't help but being a little cold, even with people who you like," She teased, admiring her neck again before letting her eyes trail slowly back up to Narcissa's face. She looked the woman in the eyes and without so much as a hint of ceremony clasped her waist with her free arm and slipped the hand that had been there down past her ... temptation ... and to her thigh. With one clean movement she lifted Narcissa onto the table behind her, resting her there with her legs hung over it. Sonya released her only to reach up and grab her by the ribbon she wore as a neck tie.
She tilted her head, looking up into Narcissa's eyes. "Not nearly enough," She breathed, an unsettling silver-grey tint rising to her cheeks as a little bit of a warm flush came to her skin. She pulled on the tie a little bit; "If I had my way... I'd take my sweet time with you," She whispered, drawing Narcissa down, closer, closer, before stopping. "There's still so much I haven't had the chance to burn into my mind..." She murmured before releasing her tie and stood up straight, reaching out to take the woman by the chin and cheek, her fingers dancing a little bit on her skin. Her eyes flicked a bit, a thoughtful almost remorseful look stretching across Sonya's features. She ran a thumb under Narcissa's eye and tilted her head, taking a moment to adjust her hair. She smiled a little, "There we go..." | TAG WORDS NOTES

This was totally unexpected. Seriously it wasn't as if Narcissa was oblivious to flirting and the like but she had just not assumed that Sonya of all people would flirt with her. No, this wasn't flirting, right? This was teasing? What was this and why was it annoying and comfortable at the same time and Cissy hated how it made her blush and feel flustered. "T-that sounds stupid." It was more stupid that it sounded so like her, so damn accurate that Narcissa did not want to admit that it was considered accurate instead of stupid. She was cold to everyone because people shouldn't be in her life. Also, the problem is; she did like Sonya. At least as a friend for sure but the problem was how much could you tell that? How much would she not be manipulated, butchered and hurt again if she dared to open herself up to other people?
She tried to get Sonya away from her but her hands were on her and well she was so close, she had even dumped her on the table, well not entirely dump but she wanted to let it go and she shivered. She didn't want to think about it, she did not want Sonya to tell her that she did not get enough of her. That she wanted to take her sweet time. God sake, just kiss. But no, she could not do that. This was a very bad thing to do, to consider, to anything. She had to push her away, this was enough. This would only end up to be more painful and Narcissa would not want to break something already so fragile. Actually, it hurt her, opening wounds, opening everything from the past and finally she moved her hands and pushed Sonya away. "Please, I can't." Yes, she looked at her lap, she did not want to cry but she hated herself more than ever. She had started this, and the road would only become more dangerous, more distance and more painful with how much further she continued.

Sonya watched the whirlwind of emotion flicker across Narcissa's face. Discomfort, attraction, fear, self-pity, embarrassment, annoyance, grief... The woman struggled to even breathe with Sonya's hand on her cheek. Sonya tilted her head and blinked slowly, her mechanical eyes swirling with each shift in the light of the room. Narcissa's hand rose and batted Sonya's own away, Sonya pulled it back, her fingers drawing as far away as possible. There was a storm brewing on Narcissa's face, puffy eyes, strained lips, tense shoulders, it seemed as if the woman's entire world was about to fall to pieces. Yet what could Sonya do about it? An arrogant part of her considered pushing harder. She shook her head, no, she wouldn't stoop to that level.
Sonya stepped forward and let out a sigh, reaching up and placing a hand on the side of Narcissa's head. She leaned in and planted one solid kiss on her forehead before stroking her hair. "Shh... I am sorry," Sonya soothed, stroking her hair; "I came on too hard, I apologize," She released Narcissa and turned away, clearing her throat. "This is why I don't chase after friends..." She admitted, rolling her neck and glancing back at Narci; "...I can't bear to make a friend cry," She took a deep breath and drew out her cellphone from her blazer pocket, flipping it on and dialing a three digit number; she placed it to her ear and shoved her free hand into her pocket. "Yes it's me, I'm commandeering the meeting room today, yes, no, oh and send up some ice cream and snacks would you?" She paused, "Two spoons," She laughed and nodded, "Thanks Rikart."
She shut her phone off and walked over to Narcissa, "Lets take the day off from everything, mm?" She offered, looking up at the woman and trying to catch her eye. "Hope you like ice cream~," | TAG WORDS NOTES

it was tiring, both mentally and physically as her muscles turned into stone, holding on to every fibre of her being to not hurt herself. To not do more than push Sonya's hand away. To not run away, to not say words she regrets later. She could not do this. She wasn't even sure what this was or what she meant to Sonya. This was probably just teasing, taunting, flirting, playing, anything. Narcissa did not know, surely she had a whole different life and a whole different world before coming to Japan but it was painful to even think about that, Narcissa had shut it all out, did not think about it. It just hurt her so much. Her heart racing in a chest that was tightened by stone and yet, she did not want it to stop. She wanted someone to care about her, someone to want her, to like her, to protect her, to do anything. But she couldn't afford that, it would only hurt more because nothing was true.
She looked away even though she felt Sonya's hand on her head and the kiss on her forehead. She did not want to nod, she did not want to acknowledge anything. She looked at Sonya from the corner of her eyes, almost asking if they were really friends because she did not know anything at all. "It's not your fault." She finally admitted softly. But for a few seconds, she did not say anything and watched Sonya call someone, probably to get her stuff ready and get her out. She hoped her motor was doing fine. She said nothing and just nodded with some words Sonya said and stopped doing so, ice cream? Snacks? Oh. Maybe she had not considered too much. "I am sorry, I just don't know how to control these emotions, I used to be quite good at it." Which was just in the past, maybe it would even remain to do so, Cissy had no idea, "But yes, I love ice cream."

Sonya cracked into a smile and tilted her head, her eyes closed she almost looked normal without those artificial eyes. She gave a bright laugh; "Good, because I have no idea what they're sending up, I didn't specify a flavor," She tittered, pulling away from Narcissa and patting her knee once. She clapped her hands over her head three times, "Abum! Lights, Camera, Action!" She ordered to the air. There was a low tone and the lights of the room dimmed just a bit, a projector rose from the center of the table and a screen lowered on the far side of the room. She put her hands on her hips and threw her head up into the air, pointing her nose high.
"It is time, for Sonya's patented best friends therapy!" She said with all the faux arrogance she could muster. She grinned and looked at Narcissa out of the corner of her eye. She relaxed her pose and chuckled as a knock came to the door; "Put the flower girl down for a little while, Cissy, lets just be people for a little while, mm?" She offered, nodding to the projector; "What kind of movies do you like? I'm a bit partial to Rom Com's myself," She said, walking to the door. It slid open and a man came in with a cart with a metal lid and some sort of light on the side. Sonya tapped one side and it opened revealing six multicolored holes with icecream and icy mist wafting up. She nodded at the man and thanked him before he left with a hiss of the shutting door.
Sonya tapped the bottom section of the cart, "Chips are down here~" She smiled and grabbed a bowl, reaching for the ice cream scoop. | TAG WORDS NOTES

She did not get it, she swore she had offended Sonya about this whole thing, but she did seem to react normally, she seemed to even react somewhat different and Narcissa did not know what to say. She just looked at her, wasn't sure what to do, she did not mind what flavour ice cream, but it was just something and she watched her and how she patted her knee. Narcissa followed Sonya, still, she did not dare to trust Sonya completely, why this was something so strange to the woman she met for the first time on a party, because Narcissa just showed up at the wrong party and now this happened, she knew she was a very dangerous villain and that made it so scary.
She did not get what she said out loud and just looked around as the light dimmed and a projector showed up and she noticed that it turned in a sort of cinema hall and she got off the table to quickly sit on the seat she had before. She looked at Sonya when she spoke again, "Oh never knew you were also a therapist." She smiled and tried to calm down a little and she was just admitting she wasn't so good at it anymore and nodded, god yes, sometimes she was so fixated on Daffodil and now she had to fix this and just be her. "I think that's the best therapy line ever." She could not help but snort a little. She snorted again a little when Sonya admitted her style or her favourite idea of movies, "Romcoms are fine." She could swoon over such things and never think about it again. She would never get something like that and she would deal with that, she was very tired of this life but she would continue. This was her new life, this was Daffodil.

Sonya gave her an easy smile and waved off the quip; "I wear many hats," She said simply, pulling out a bag of salted chips and setting it on the table while she began scooping her own ice cream. She began looking around, trying to find- OH there the sprinkles were. She poured a heaping helping of sprinkles on her two massive wads of chocolate swirl ice cream and made sure to grab the whip cream can. She sprayed a nice cone atop her own before dabbing a little bit on Narcissa's nose. "I happen to be pretty good at lines," She said with a wink. She let out a delighted laugh and fled to her seat, grabbing a remote and fiddling with it until her collection of films popped up. She glanced over her shoulder.
She made an odd face, something more gentle than anyone really thought she was capable of. "I don't believe... that just because we are villains, we cannot have moments like this," She looked back at the screen and flipped through a few more movies. "If we didn't try to live lives of our own we truly would just be the monsters people make us out to be," She finally picked a movie and patted the seat to her left. "It may seem strange to you, but I genuinely want to be your friend, no strings, no plots, no games, no twist endings..." She took a bite of a potato chip and gave her a satisfied smile, rolling her eyes to the taste. "Mmm! Come on now! Lets enjoy this! I haven't seen this movie in ages. Have you seen Chapel on the Hill before?" She asked, tapping the volume a few times.
The lights began to dim just a little more as Sonya crossed her legs. | TAG WORDS NOTES

Narcissa could only raise her eyebrow as Sonya said she wore many hats. Yes, well it started to be more clear that she did and she was wondering if she should say something about it. "I feel flattered you show me some." She decided to say, she did not want to push Sonya away as whatever this was... friendship? She could not trust anyone so even that felt like it was a very far word to say and Narcissa just felt empty and alone when she thought about it. That feeling would come and haunt her even more. What was there to say at this point and yet a small smile appeared when Sonya made a dot of the ice on her nose and she rubbed it off and looked up and nodded, "Oh really?" Sometimes she doubted herself where she was good at but she was still alive and standing, so survival might be something she was good at. But the joke she made was already proven by Sonya before so she didn't continue with it and she looked up as Sonya continued and Narcissa didn't want to add that she was fascinated by the expressions the villain made.
"Do you... do you consider yourself a villain?" Because she remembered Sonya asking her to say it, that day at the opera. Swear she should have just strangled that kid but whatever. She would just get off the table and sit on the chair she had used before. She rolled her shoulders and moved her head from one shoulder to her back, her other and her chest, to get rid of the stiff feeling from sleeping with her head on the table after the meeting. The following thing Sonya said made her sit very still and just look at the empty screen. She was not sure if that would change for her as they already made her a monster and she felt it, that's why she went down on this path. "Maybe they already did." She just muttered. She got up and took the seat that Sonya patted instead of the chair she had taken before. She didn't want to say no to the friendship Sonya offered but she wasn't sure if that really meant no plots and no strings, although she would always first go to Sonya anyway. "Not that I remember, but I am bad at titles." She said casually and took a chip from the bag Sonya held and just would sit there a little down in the seat and just watched.

There was a small amount of trepidation she could sense in Narcissa's tone when she asked if Sonya considered herself a villain. She looked away for a moment, staring at the wall, her glowing eyes swirling in her head despite wanting a quiet moment of stillness. She rolled her jaw, trying to figure out the right words to answer the question with. It was one of those moments that you sat and worked and prepared yourself for but when it came; you were speechless. She dipped her head once and glanced back; "I do. I am a villain. A real villain has the power to be free, has attained something greater than those bound by the rules of society;" She said quietly, her eyes dancing in the flickering light of the projector. Her gaze flicked toward the screen as the movie began to load up.
She quirked a lip and reached up to her chin, pretending to remove a mask from her face; "Now, remember what I said, we're putting those masks down for a little while, okay?" She turned as Narcissa settled into the seat and popped another chip in her mouth. Even as the film began to run and she relaxed into a easy posture next to her friend, her mind continued to churn. Narcissa still had her doubts, everyone did. The word villain meant such a terrible thing in some ways; but what was a villain but someone who fought to change their own world for themselves. It was a selfish thing, in its own way, but sometimes not. Sometimes the villains in stories were misguided, some were even seeking retribution for loss. None of those things applied to her though. She took another bite and laughed where it was right too, she smiled when it was correct, but her heart felt off.
Sonya had come to terms with the loss of her wife. Sonya had accepted the agony she'd experienced as a child as her quirk nearly killed her. She'd fought through a youth plagued by mistrust for her false eyes and weak body. She'd endured it all and she'd embraced society. When push came to shove, she'd practically fought to be as normal, in her own way, as possible. Was it a way to justify her actions? Was it a way to prove something? Maybe. But all she knew was that she really, truly, believed in what she was doing. What she wanted. Freedom.
The movie hit its first act and she popped another chip into her mouth, leaning a bit to the left to brush her friend's shoulder. Her body relaxed and her smile reached her eyes again; "I love this movie," She said softly, and settled in to spend some well deserved time. | TAG WORDS NOTES
