Beleaf [Miku | Apprenticeship]

Nimue now asked Miku to help her to put the person around, there was too much pressure and fluids in the lungs and that would be better with a compressor. She turned mid-question to the other officer, to ask who got hit first and quickly hurried to the person, "Get someone else in here, we need to turn them around quickly." It was normal that when people were stable that you put them on their back, but this wasn't helping and while giving the instruction, she beckoned Miku to quickly come to do so with this police officer. "I do think you are right by the way but also not. I think this is a person with a quirk like you, though I think it is mutating plants, this seems to be symptoms of two plants at the same time, so either this person has used two plants to poison someone or made one that looks exactly like it." She turned the person around, listened again to the sound of the lungs before getting some stuff from her bag, counting and in the end making a small cut underneath the third rib. "Get me tissues." She had no time to be polite and nice to Miku, Miku would need to follow her orders right now and rather quickly. The red of the blood-covered her white gloves but there was more when she punctured the wound, black looking blood stuck to the glove as she quickly made it clean and got it out. Too much of it. She needed hospital stuff. She looked up to the officers that had gone to turn around two of the remaining patients. "Call an ambulance now, you don't have much time." Well not entirely, the thing is that the first man was hit two days ago, so the last ones had more time than this one. But she wasn't going to lose him and her eyes shone brightly green. "Miku, I need you to hold his wrist, I don't have any medical equipment to feel his pulse but please tell me if you feel it and if it becomes faint." She pointed at the arm on the other side before focusing on what she was doing and clearing the lungs out with the strange substance that looked like a sort of sticky poison. It was anything but pretty.

She would have to check the others but when the sticky stuff was out mostly, she quickly got a strip of stitches and closed the lung, closed the body and looked at Miku. "As I was saying, this is not my normal patrol or request story but you can learn from everything." Before she got the gloves off and threw in a little bag she had now and looked at the ground, splatters of black stuff and hunched down to get some on a cotton swap. "Hm." But she did not stay still for very long and checked the others and if they were all stable enough to move to the hospital.

This wasn't what she had in mind. She was okay with checking up on people but she stared at the black murk that was on her hands and on the floor now. When they were done, they picked up the bodies with the ambulances and she gave the swap in a little plastic bag, "This is inside their lungs, it might help to find a way to clean it." She took a deep breath and as the people were taken out she took off her gloves and dumped them in the waste bin and turned to Miku. "Let's go. We have to see if there is a pattern and where they are now." the reference to them was to the person who did this, the quirker for sure. But Nimue needed to make sure where they were found. A hideout, anything. That made her and Miku go back to the first man and meet him in the hallway. She asked if the hospital took it over and they seemed to be more convinced to do something now than the first doctor that had shown up. Which was at least something for Nimue to consider. She didn't apologize to Miku about the work, you could learn as she said from everything. This was not exactly what Miku her job would be but she would as a pro-hero bump into things that weren't what she hoped or expected either.

She nodded when the police officer, explained that there were specific streets where the culprit seemed to be and she looked at the map, noticing that one of the Tropical greenhouses of the district was nearby. Wasn't that a little suspicious? She looked at Miku to see if the girl was looking with interest. "I will inform you if we find something. Keep an ear out for the radio, Lil'Petti and I will go." She finally pointed at the map and at the greenhouse before turning to Miku and again stating they would go. This meant the literal patrol, keeping eyes and ears open for the description of the culprit, he or she had been only identified by a pink hoody in the colour of the sakura petals and a bag with a flower pattern on it that they probably used for the seeds or poison that they made. Nimue would see, it wasn't much and therefore it was the old technique: everything was suspicious until proven otherwise.

As the two left the station, they had to be prepared. Nimue made sure her hood was covering her face again and they made their way towards the greenhouse. If they were anything like Miku's quirk or many others they needed their sources from outside. So that meant they would have either studied plants to make the poison or they even got it from there. Nimue was just thinking too much, worrying if she did it correctly like this and just continued with a steady pace to walk across the streets of the district towards their goal. She would look left and right, making sure to look wherever and hear everything around them for as far as she was capable off as a human. She just watched and learned, kept an open mind. "Hm, the greenhouse is just an idea, but I don't know if they are there, I do think it has to do with creating a potion, whether that is with real flowers or just based on flower poison, that's a question." She mused out loud, but not entirely sure if they had a section like that in this greenhouse. In South Africa, they displayed every flower that was pretty, whether it was poisonous or not.

With a steady pace and looking around the two continued until they arrived at the greenhouse and Nimue checked if it was open and pulled on the door to let Miku go in first, "just keep your eyes and ears open for anything suspicious." She took a deep breath and waltzed in, this wasn't her best display of herself. She did not like playing the big bad as the good guy but well she had to do it anyway. She looked around when they arrived in the sort of plaza that the greenhouse started with, an indoor fountain in the middle of the round empty place gave it a nice vibe and would guide them to the different sections and paths this greenhouse had. On Miku's side was a reception but Nimue was first looking around and ignoring the woman that came up to ask if something was the matter, she wanted to see what Miku would do.

Nimue blinked a little in surprise, hearing the words Miku spoke before turning back. "I think you see that in the wrong light. Dabbling with poison doesn't have to mean you use the poison, but studying it can be very useful, especially if you have the seeds that work with it, trying to find an antidote for the victims of other plants or people that use plant quirks is an idea. Now you are not a medical hero but I wouldn't say knowing the ins and outs of poison as a hero, is unheroic." She did not mean to sound strict but the fact that people immediately made assumptions about things that were considered bad or evil, was wrong. But she hoped that Miku got that she should be more open-minded, also towards people that did this, surely it was wrong to poison the police but who knows why the person had done so. It was their task to find out and get them before any more victims would fall into the hands of this poison.

But with that small talk over they continued towards the greenhouse, where Nimue would just go on and see if she could find something. But nothing was visible from the little plaza where they stood. She looked shortly over her shoulder to Miku before looking further into the garden of what they could see. Suspicious person doing suspicious activities, it almost made her laugh but the hero managed to not do so. She turned finally to look at the receptionist who still looked at her and at Miku. "Did you see anyone behave strangely or something?" She decided to ask again as the woman seemed to be unsure of what to answer. "No-no, it's been very quiet the last few days, only Ami has been around more the last few days. But she comes here regularly as well, so I don't see that as suspicious." Poor woman, but Nimue just said they would look around and looked overhead. She almost walked away before turning around, "Do you have the Calla Lilies here?" They were native to her home and it reminded her of something, "Or nightshade?" The woman nodded and pointed in one of the directions of the path and Nimue nodded as well, beckoning Miku to come along as the followed the dancing path through the field of flowers, it looked almost as if they were outside. But she had to pay good attention to see if she could find the poisonous plants that she thought of. She had a strange idea, which was obviously visible from the frown on her face.

"I know you are not a medical person but you have most of the answers in the palm of your hand, sometimes quite literally. It might be worthy to study more about plants and the plants you use and think about other effects plants have. That doesn't have to take away from your study as a combat or even rescue hero." Depending on if she decided, she seemed to have always focused on combat but Nimue wasn't sure yet, especially thanks to her previous answer if that was exactly what she wanted. It was something to consider, especially the next couple of months because this was going to be her last year, and with graduation, it might be something to consider.

She had to push Miku a little, strangely said by the art club advisor, Miku as a little bit of clay could still be molded so much and that was good, definitely but it might be more confusing for the girl. Sometimes, and especially as she listened to Miku explain it to the woman of the greenhouse, she wondered again why Miku wanted to be a hero. Her shy demeanour wasn't going to help but then she realized that she had been shy as well. But Nimue was outgoing when it came to helping people and she had become far more confident in her own abilities when she talked to the people such as here because she needed information to make it better. She would just ask the woman for some more information and she got a nod and a direction of where to go. Nimue came with a quick pace, they had to be quick if this was what she thought it was. She knew that once a while the doctor would fall into the trap of actually considering one thing without an open mind for other things. "I think I know what the poison made, we just have to see if there are flowers missing, Calla Lillies are black, they are poisonous when eaten and the same goes for nightshade, they make you swallow it and maybe its made as a sort of fume which is why it ended up in the lungs, which then..." She realized she was rambling and looked at Miku, "Well it could explain the effect of the police officers we saw before if we know what did it, the hospital will have easier way to clean it up and save the people." She hurried a little more, not exactly running but taking fast and quick steps before extending her hand to stop Miku.

There was a girl there, sitting on the pathway and sketching one of the flowers, this must be Ami and she looked at Lil'Petti to go and talk to the girl. Surprisingly the girl sat quite close to the Calla Lillies that Nimue recognized, some of the flower cones were missing, they did not seem to have fallen on the ground and Nimue looked around her to see if the other flower petals would remain on the ground before she could make a suspicious thought. On her left, the other side of which Ami sat, she noticed the nightshade a little further away from the path, also berries missing. She feared that she had found the solution to at least one problem, but they had to be quick.

The girl was not much older than Miku, probably the same age and she was drawing the Calla Lilies. She was so focused than when Miku spoke to her, she accidentally dropped her pencil and started to shiver. "D-Don't get any closer." She seemed to keep on shivering that it even seemed to be trembling. She got up, fell again, tried to grab her pencil, push the sketchbook against her body and stumble backwards trying to get back on the path. "I-I am Ami." She looked at Miku, curious but also very afraid and when Nimue returned, the shivering started to become so bad that the girl even fell backwards and did not seem to react. Nimue looked with big surprised eyes at Miku to ask what the heck was going on when something strange happened. She seemed to transform while all Nimue thought to hear was that she was crying and tried to get closer to Ami.

Ami got up, without making a motion, not even moving her hands or feet to get up, it was just some sort of gravitation and she did cry but her eyes were closed. Like a puppet on a string, her clothes had been changed into plant materials, with Calla Lilies and nightshade sticking out like tiny bushes, poison ivy wrapped around her arms and legs like a part of an outfit. She said something that Nimue couldn't catch but she felt something tug on her leg and before she could look, she fell forward as the tug became harder and she got pulled away from the road. "Intruders, only hurt the flowers, they deserve to be punished." Ami's voice sounded stronger, even mean and she pulled Nimue further away through the plants and the Witch Doctor hero only managed to grab a hold of herself when she pulled her spear within the ground and gave some sort of counter-movement to not get dragged further into the garden.

Even though Ami's eyes remained closed her face turned to Miku as if to say you are next. So Ami attacked Miku with a big lance of vines. She was going in for the attack while the girl kept crying, it was clear she wasn't in control and losing her mind about the protection of plants. She said nothing and just looked around with her eyes closed as if she was trying to make this issue better but she was going to attack Miku even more to get her out, screaming from the top of her lungs.

"Aim for her-for the flower on her chest." It was hidden in the greens but the biology teacher assumed that the plant quirker would see it while she tried to kick the vines away from her own legs and hold on to her spear as if she would else disappear and never appear. She was sure she could break it off and her eyes changed to blue. She would manage to get it done and looked at Miku as she was trying to fight off the flowers and vines that were surrounding Ami but also the one that was tangling and creeping upon the girl herself, "Get your companion, she needs to be distracted," Obviously Ami or Ami's quirk depending on how you viewed it wasn't an idiot and when Nimue had called out, the vines seemed to protect the flower bud that seemed to be more like a big lily the longer she was looking at it. The distraction might work but still, Ami was aware of it now too. However, she wasn't aware of how good Nimue was with throwing her spear.

She would support Miku to stop it and she would slash or more push the vines away from her and hurry back to her apprentice and smack the vines that would get closer to them until she felt something prick her skin and looked at the gash in her hero outfit and her white pale skin show underneath with a small cut in it. Ami was not strong enough to really pierce her skin, it looked more like a paper cut but the girl started to have this creepy laugh, "I will stop you all." and Nimue ducked to avoid the new slash of her vines and turned to find a drop of the black poison she had found before at the police station. Well that at least answered her question but she had to avoid six of those things and was moved backward and Ami stared with her closed eyes at Miku, though it was obvious she was watching. "What will you do? Will you protect the flowers or support that thing?" That thing was apparently an indication to Nimue and she wasn't sure what to say about it as she had no time to be distracted. If Miku would defend and work to get the flower away, she would manage to stop Ami's quirk and the girl would fall down, but that depended on what Miku was doing.
