Post by Nimue Nakahara on Jun 28, 2020 11:28:34 GMT -4
Nimue explained to everyone that they were going to a smaller district in Musutafu that wasn't so lucky to get the help that they needed. So she would see how that would go and if the students would show initiatives to go and help the people and she was kind of sad that after such a time it was still necessary to do, though two days was not long for many people it was just that after a long time injuries could get infected and the like and she would nod to Angelica to let her go off and get her hero outfit and meet the others and her at the front door of the academy building and she would wait there. She handed Honey a box with gloves and made sure everyone was ready to go, no last-minute bathroom breaks necessary? Now when everything was ready and Angelica was by their side again, Nimue would explain that they would walk, to at least have some sort of patrol if they were inclined to do something like that as a professional hero in their future.
She would keep her eyes and ears open while walking to the right place in Musutafu, which took them all about twenty minutes and she wasn't going to run or sprint off unless it was desperately necessary. Nimue made sure that the four students felt calm and pleasant enough to ask her any questions if they still had any until they came to the ravage of the district and Nimue took a deep breath, "Okay, here is what we are going to do, I stay mainly here at the main road and see what I can do for people, if you bump into something above your power or needs internal healing you will get me. I am also here for all the questions. This isn't only about medical help, it is about mental issues, people that are afraid or things that have fallen and block off rooms or other people, if you are not strong enough, which can happen this early in your training you will get me a well, anything you just feel like a second pair of eyes and ears, you can get me. Alright? It might be best to go in teams and I leave that to the four of you, with who do you want to work together or who can amplify your own shortcomings or boast your greatest points, again no right or wrong, just pick who you would like to work with." She would watch the four of them before walking off to an elder man that would come to her, she had been here before of course, but still a lot needed to be done and she talked shortly to him and made sure to look at the students and see what they would do. They had a bit of freedom to show again initiatives. She wanted to make sure that even if they were shy now, they pushed themselves to go do what their future might hold for them and to see if they would still go off alone or make a team. She had ideas of what would happen and she kept her eye especially on two of them, maybe a little push was necessary.

Yasashi kept his hands on his hips now, remaining focused on the task at hand. His jolly nature was good for bedside manner, he'd been told as much, but it was no good in a calmer setting. He took a deep breath through his nostrils and let out a quiet exhale; glancing over at Angelica with those beady glacier-white eyes of his. It was never his intention to glare at anyone but he was... always glaring, despite his chuckles. He pressed down a chortle when she suggested she needed to step out to grab her uniform. A proper hero, support or otherwise, should always be ready to make a move. He watched her leave and was about to reach for his skull mask when he saw Honey. He hesitated and let his shoulders drop. He'd change into the off-white beta version of his armor today. It was lighter anyway.
He clapped his fist against his chest, catching a little bit of the vibe that Kumoko was giving off. An eager smile stretched across his lips before he could stop himself. "Not a doubt in my mind, Nakahara-sensei!" He chortled.
Her explanation of their task gave him pause, but then he became even more eager. Of course! He'd done this with Nimue-sensei before actually! When he had shadowed her months before he had followed her on something very similar! A grin broke across his face and he squeezed his own hips so tightly it looked like it might hurt. The loud BA HA HA laughter held back only by sheer force of will. It was far too small a space for him to be making any noise with his powerful lungs. He tilted his head toward the door, wondering when Angelica would get back. Soon, though, they left with all present and followed Nimue on their course. It would function on a very similar level to a patrol.
Yasashi by this point had placed the skull mask on his face, the armor forming on his body in an off-white bone color and design that was far less threatening than the darker Tartarus look. Yasashi rolled his shoulders regardless and pulled away the part of his helmet that covered his mouth so people could see him smiling. He hoped that helped a little. He grinned a great deal at Nimue when she gave their instructions but paused again when she suggested teams. He looked over at Honey, even making eye contact, and his glowing eyes fell to the ground. He looked away and clenched his fists, she was better off with Kumoko, she made her comfortable. He squared his shoulders and turned to Angie.
"Angelica! Would you like to patrol with me?!" He suggested, offering a herky-jerky bow and raised arm. | TAG WORDS NOTES

Practice makes perfect But Aren't I already there? Angelica did not appreciate certain choices for her costume.
Yes, she appreciated that it gave her plenty of storage space with its wide skirt for storing candies, medical supplies, and various other pieces of equipment. The headpiece kept her long hair out of her face, but it also allowed her to let it down, which did look better in combination with the costume. The lace-up boots were practical and lacking a heel which made walking for long distances relatively painless. On her shoulders there were even a pair of cooling machines that she could run her sugar sap through, in case she ran out of candy.
And, perhaps, on some very buried level of herself, she liked that the sleeves reminded her of a certain popular children franchise. But there inlay the issue. She looked like a princess, not a doctor. Yes, the next design that Yojin was working on had a lab-coat to it, but for now?
For now, she looked like...this.
Bows, frills, little decorative patterns that looked like wrapped candies around the skirt, poofy princess sleeves...did he think she was "cute" like this? Did he think she liked looking this?
It wasn't like she didn't like looking cute on occasion but not when she was in a professional environment. The idiot.
Angelica walked with a straight back and firm, cool gaze behind Nimue, hoping that nobody would comment on her appearance, and ready to rain down hellfire the first one to say a word. Nimue was talking about the physical task of seeking out trapped civilians, saving them, and providing medical aid. Hm. In this situation she would want somebody who was far stronger than her. Honey was out. Kumoko may be equipped for it, but if she was being strictly logical, then the best choice was...oh, perfect, he was already suggesting himself for her use. Had he realized she was the best equipped of the three?
Whatever his reasoning she nodded curtly. "Yes, that makes an adequate amount of sense. I will lead the way. The sense of smell my antenna possess will help us seek out civilians." Angelica gave a small bow--she did not curtsy, no matter how large the skirt of this dress was, and how perfect it would have been to curtsy in--to Nimue, Honey, and Kumoko. "Best of luck in your endeavors. Do not get into trouble."
She began to walk off for the side street, expecting Yasashi to follow along behind her, like good muscle should. Though, to some extent, having a towering, muscular figure besides her was comforting, if only just so. He lacked horns and fur.

Honey put the little box with gloves in her bag, she checked her yellow dress and added the hat that fitted with it but was originally part of her hero outfit. It just hid mostly the fact that she had only squirrel ears, which made a lot of sense for her as she was a squirrel mutant but that did not mean that she was confident about it. So she would listen to the explanation and sort of stupidly waved Angelica goodbye when she would go off to get her hero outfit. Honey took a little snack from her bag and a sip of water before she jumped off the bed and followed the others down and waited for Angelica outside at the front gate.
They would walk to the point of their meeting and she would look around, though at first, it was more in a daydreaming fashion until she noticed the others and their serious expressions and tried to focus on that as well. Keeping her ears up and looking around if something was happening, but for so far nothing happened. She finally paid attention to Angelica and her always so serious classmate she looked so pretty and she made a little hobble to walk next to Angelica, directly behind Nimue. "Angie-chan, I wanted to say that the dress and the bow look really good on you." She smiled and would just continue walking in a sort of skipping pace as her small little legs tried to keep up with everyone, skipping helped and made her also use the overload of energy she had.
When they arrived, she tried her very best to focus on what Nakahara-sensei had to do and nodded. She would not mind working with either of the group so that left one obstacle and although she really appreciated this armour, she was sure that Yaya-kun had not done it because of her and she looked at the ground, fiddling with her hands, moving her fingers over the others as if she was playing some sort of game, from the corner of her eye she looked up at Yasashi and she swore he looked at her, but he did not ask, so she didn't either and she wouldn't want to bother the others, they should pick first. She had probably been annoying to all of them at some point, Yaya-kun at the event where she couldn't move and Angie-chan well in class worked. She wasn't sure if Kumoko would mind but they were together a lot, they were roommates after all, but that meant Honey knew she could learn a lot from Kumoko. So she wasn't disappointed that Yasashi asked Angelica and turned with a smile at her roomie. "Best duo together!" She said enthusiastically and she would point at the other side of the main road then Angelica and Yasashi had picked. "Let's go that way then?" She looked shortly at Nimue to see if she was doing right before walking off with her friend.

Naturally, Kumoko would pay close attention to Nimue's words. Always good to know what to do. She wanted no one to ever accuse her of slacking off or not paying attention. Besides that, the spider girl simply focused on trying her best not to trip again. Once was bad enough. The poor clumsy girl really did not need any more accidents today. She wanted to help treat the injuries of others, not her own.
"Ohmigosh!" Once Angelica returned dressed in her outfit, Kumoko's six eyes widened in shock. She looked so... so... SO ADORABLE!! Who made the girl such a wonderful looking costume? Still, Kumoko did not wish to say much aloud. Angelica always seemed to exude an aura of seriousness, so Kumoko figured that she would probably not appreciate the whole being adorable thing. Or who knows, maybe she might! But Kumoko thought it was best to not risk it. Still, she could not help but speak up once Honey gave her own compliment. "Yes, that's such an a-" Whoops, she almost said 'adorable' there! "-mazing suit! Looks fantastic!" Nice save. With how quickly Kumoko corrected herself, it would be hard to notice the minuscule pause there.
And now it was time to get started. First order of business was going in pairs. Kumoko had no idea who would decide to go with her. Personally, she had no real preference. Honey was her best friend and roommate, she got along with Yasashi pretty well, and Angelica's serious and hard-working nature would make her a great partner to work with. It ultimately made no difference to the spider girl who she ended up with, letting the others go ahead and make their choice.
I just hope that regardless of who I work with, I don't get in my partner's way too much. Maybe I shouldn't be thinking like that. But still...
It did not take too long for the pairs to form. Angelica and Yasashi would go together, and Honey would go with Kumoko. That was fine. Kumoko looked forward to it. "Yes! Squirrel and Spider Super Squad!" The spider girl looked to the other pair, bowing back to Angelica after she spoke. "Same to you. Hope everything goes well!" No need to worry, though. Everything would go just fine.
...Hopefully.
Seeing as Kumoko was not very confident, she had no problem with Honey taking the lead and making decisions. "Sure, sounds good." And if there were no problems, then Kumoko would follow Honey in the direction the squirrel girl chose.
With any luck, there would not be much to worry about. Kumoko hoped that everything would be fine. That she was capable enough to help, and that she would not need to call on the heroine for help too much. I can do this! Just relax and focus!

Nimue herself walked over to the man that came to join her and made a short chitchat about what was going. There was just a lot to consider and she would come and start with helping the people that she knew were hurt and had managed to get towards the main road, the houses here. She wondered if the others were doing as fine as well. Yasashi and Angelica would bump in a house that was clearly blocked from going in and out. There was a broken window where a kid was climbing back inside with food and drinks that one of the neighbours provided. There were not many young people in this district, most were the elderly but the kids had been there living with their grandparents, the oldest (The one climbing through the window) had a dirty looking face and a harsh look on it as he eyed the two new ones that he did not know. He did not like strangers and though he was bleeding on his cheek and his hands, he quickly hid. The elderly woman who stood outside watched them as well, obviously, the news that Witch Doctor and her interns were coming had done its round around the people. "You are the pro-heroes in training right?" She asked carefully, walking a little more towards the road the team had taken before pointing at the house. The house was a little strange looking as the right corners had sunken a little in the ground which had collapsed parts of the roof and blocked every door and window, except for the part where the kids could crawl out and crawl in but not the adults. "I try to give them water and food but they need medical attention, I hear grandpa Takeuchi fell while protecting his granddaughter but he seemed to have difficulty moving now." She said and well the boy that they would have seen before jumped up. "Hush baba, we be doing fine!" he yelled, clearly not ready to let the others in. "Besides, we are stuck, it's not like they could do anything for us." He pulled out his tongue and hid his face again, fussing over his little sister and his grandfather.
Team Honey and Kumoko would not bump into a fallen house, they would bump into a hysteric old woman come almost running towards him. "We have been waiting for hours, where have you two been, please, now quick, we have to save my husband." wailing and crying she tried to pull the two of them along, "I don't need help." the other woman said gruff as she was trying to help the man who seemed to be rather pale and had a bandage around his forehead, "We have been doing fine." But the first woman wailed and cried, "Don't you see, he is dying?" The man did not speak, his eyes were a little small and far in his head so to say, he was pale, did not seem to be paying attention much to the women around him but he was there, definitely needed help at some point and that's what the Super Squirrel Spider team was for.

Yasashi was a little surprised at Angelica's costume. She had a bit of a harshness about her that drew away from the fact that she was... well... cute. He scratched his nose and tried not to react to her appearance while she nodded curtly in a juxtaposition of her personality and looks. He smiled, resting his hands on his hips and nodding at her while she moved to lead the way. He wasn't about to take a shot at her ego right now. Besides, her quirk could probably do well enough to detect what they needed. He glanced over his shoulder and offered his own nod to Kumoko and Honey.
"Be safe, friends," He said simply, bringing a fist up to his chest before turning to follow Angelica.
The heavily armored Yasashi was a bit of a sight walking behind the dantiy girl. Tartarus, as he needed to remind himself he was called, followed quietly for the most part until he spotted the children. He saw the wound on the boy's cheek and raised a hand to call out only to stop himself when the old woman approached. He kept his mouth shut, listening to the exchange and taking stock of the personalities involved. He glanced up at the broken home and at the window. Interesting. He rolled his arm and strode forward toward the house.
Angelica was a rational person, and one who was more skilled at using information to handle situations. He would trust her to try to get information out of the woman while he handled this. The bone armor on his body gleamed a little as he reached the doorknob. He looked like he was about to rip the door right off the hinge when he turned, and sat down with a plop on the small mat right in front of the door; "How's gramps doing? Your sister?" Yasashi asked aloud, tilting his head so he can hear. | TAG WORDS NOTES

Practice makes perfect But Aren't I already there? The sight of the semi-collapsed house was a point of concern, but there was little that Angelica could do about such a matter herself. As she and Yasashi approached and the older woman that she assumed to be a neighbor gave them a short, not very helpful explanation. Angelica looked up at the house then back at the old woman. She wasn't going to be disrespectful, but she needed as much information as she could get--and it was simply not a safe place for them to offer medical attention in the first place, so she couldn't offer much in that regard.
"Yes. I am the support hero in training Sugar Drop, and this is the hero in training Tartarus--" She could give props to a name based in mythology, but then again, it only served to make more connections in her mind between Yasashi and her brother. How funny. But now wasn't the time for that. "--and we are here to offer our services."
"How many are in the building, that cannot get out? How long have they been in that building? Do you have any idea what injuries he may have sustained? Is there no other way in or out asides from that window?" Her questions were quick, precise, and lacking any real sign of worry or concern. She had to keep a level head. They were here to help, after all. It would be counter-intuitive to demonstrate anything but utmost confidence in their actions. Yasashi seemed to be on the same track as her as he approached the house. Ah, of course; what she lacked in physical ability he more than made up for, and he should have no problem with either righting the house temporarily or in creating an entry-way inside. They would need to be careful to avoid collapsing it, but--
Wait, what is he doing?
Angelica's professionally calm expression soured, like she'd bitten into a particularly tart piece of candy. After receiving what answers the old woman could give her, she bowed a small bow and moved up to stand in front of Yasashi and the boy he'd sat himself next to, arms crossed over her chest. "What are you doing? It is in our best interest to locate a safe point of entry into the house, not make idle chatter." Her eyes glanced at the boy who was focused on the window. Hm. Had he received that cut from climbing through the broken glass? That was incredibly unsafe. Angelica reached into the pocket of her gown and pulled out one of her candies.
"You should not climb in and out while we are working, little boy," she spoke bluntly, but at the same time held out a daintily wrapped pink lollipop to the child, "Harming yourself either with the glass or in some other manner inside where we cannot reach you will only be detrimental to our task. Eat this. It will heal the cut on your cheek."
Whether he took it or not, her cool blue eyes would go back to Yasashi very quickly. She could read the question in the air before it was even spoken, or thought. "If the building is unstable, it may collapse. I could send him with healing candies for his family but it would be pointless if the house came down in the process. Make use of your strength and find a non-structural part of the wall to break through, so we may proceed. Alternatively--" Angelica put a finger to her lip in thought, in an unintentionally cute manner. "--if your bones can create a strong enough structure around the home, it may be best to erect them as such, to prevent its collapsing."

There wasn't much to do but laugh about being teamed up with her best friend. Honey watched Angelica and Yasashi leave and waved a little when one of them watched, albeit bashful. She wasn't sure if she should say anything thus she put her focus on Kumoko. Her other focus was going in the direction opposite location of Angie and Yasashi and she would just start with their own little path to find some issues that they could tend to. Kumoko being better at the first aid part but Honey wanted to learn, so that eagerness would help, right? She felt a little scared when a woman came up running towards them and making quite the noise, she jumped quickly behind Kumoko, who was taller and definitely scarier to look at, so it was a nice and yet mean safety way. She was pulled yet a sort of way forward by the hectic woman and she had not much to say and just looked at Kumoko with big round orbs that were a little scared. The woman was obviously panicking but she did not want to see a dying man this was her first internship after all!
When she heard a second voice, she dared to open her eyes and stared at the pale looking man on his bed. She had no idea what to do, and thus again looked up at Kumoko. "I-I am Furball." She tried to say more confident than she felt. "We are heroes in training, this is my friend, I will be her assistant if she doesn't mind and yours too ma'am. Could you please tell us what happened?" Again looking at Kumoko, Angie would smack her for checking in with her so often but she wanted to make sure they were doing all fine and Kumoko could take the lead and instruct Honey what to do, or should she get Nakahara-sensei?

Kumoko was unsure of what to expect. If it was anything like that incident at Mt. Fuji, then no doubt the people would be in a panic. It would be important to try and remain calm. Worrying too much would not get much done, so it was imperative to be able to think with a clear head. Of course, that very same incident had taught the spider-headed girl that not everyone was cooperative. So it was best to be prepared to deal with those kinds of people.
But everything was going to be okay. There would be nothing to worry about. Hopefully.
As she and Honey were approached by the old woman, Kumoko would try her best to not look as frightening, by smiling reassuringly and trying to exude a calm and professional aura. Hard to do when her head was a spider, but at the same time, it was best to not scare these already undoubtedly frightened people. She was here to help, not make things worse. "Of course! Lead the way, ma'am. We'll do what we can!" Once they all got over to the old man, Kumoko's face became neutral. Alright, don't panic. Let's just see what we can do for him. If it's bad enough, I can go get Nakahara-sensei, but hopefully this won't be something we can't handle ourselves.
Hearing Honey introduce herself with her hero name, Kumoko realized that she still did not have one of her own. Sure, she had remembered the one Angel gave her ages ago, but the spider girl had decided she wanted a hero name she herself came up with, to prove that she had earned the name herself. Perhaps it was not so important, seeing as Kumoko's appearance was very distinct, and hiding her identity was virtually impossible. Still, it was best to try to come up with something. "Call me Aurum Arachne." Eh, not perfect, but it was the first thing the girl could come up with on the fly.
"Don't worry." Kumoko whispered to Honey, doing her best to try and make her friend feel less nervous. A bit hard to do when the spider girl herself felt nervous too, but she would try anyway. "We'll be fine." She then turned to the old lady. "Please tell me exactly what happened, ma'am. It will help to know the details so we can help out properly." It was best to know as much about the situation as possible.
Looking at the old man, he really did look like he was in terrible shape. Kumoko wanted to see just how bad it was. Sure, she could go get Nimue now, but she was hesitant to run to the heroine for every tiny thing. No, it was best to know when to get the expert and when to handle the situation without her. If it was not too serious, then Kumoko and Honey would be sufficient enough. They could do this! And if they couldn't, then it was best to check and be absolutely sure.
Speaking of checking, Kumoko went to the old man's side. She needed to see his condition right away. If the other one, the one who said they did not need help, tried to get in the way, Kumoko would give a very stern look and kindly insist on letting her do her job unimpeded. She was not the same scared and timid girl she was in the past. There were lives that needed saving, and Kumoko was not in the mood for any nonsense from anyone. Hopefully, she would not be impeded to begin with. But either way, Kumoko and Honey had a job to do.

The boy had climbed back in but it was obvious that he was peaking out from just underneath the window sill to see what was going on. He dropped down when he saw the tall boy coming towards their door. He wanted to stop him and climbed on the window sill to yell when he saw the hero dropped down on the front porch, so he quickly hid under the sill again. "They are fine!" He yelled angrily because obviously they were not. "She is asleep and he has all the cushions in the house, so he is fine!" But his sister had developed a fever from an infection and his grandma was trying to do her very best with what she could reach in the house, at least they were stuck in a survivable kitchen at this point. He finally climbed on the window sill again to see what was going on.
In the meantime, Angelica would get answers from Mrs Yamamoto. "Oh dear oh dear, ehm it's mister and misses Takeuguchi and their grandchildren, Kenta and Karin." She answered the first question a little intimidated by Angelica with the number of questions she spilt in one go. "I think since the earthquake of yesterday morning, I brought them breakfast and dinner and medicine and cushions as Kenta wanted." and blankets and all the other things Mrs Yamamoto could babble on about but she would realize Angelica asked another question, "Oh I don't know my dear, my eyes aren't the best and they haven't turned the light on so I can't see. I only heard that he hurt his leg very badly and can't move. I don't know what's with little Karin-chan, I haven't seen her since last night when she was still climbing in and out of the window. We tried to move some stuff at the back of the house to try to get in but nothing worked so yes the window is the only way to get in. Kenta leads the household now, telling us what his grandmother needs and we bring it you see." She told this all to Angelica with a little smile on her face, hoping it was enough for the girl.
When Angelica was done and came to Kenta, he sat outside on the window sill looking quite curiously at Yasashi but dropping back in the window sill on the inside and looking at her. "Well I am not much littler than you." The eleven-year-old said to her and poking out his tongue. He didn't like her tone so he did not have any intentions of coming outside again as long as she was here. He looked at the candy she put in front of him as if she just gave him the nasties cough drop ever and he poked at it, "My mother said I cannot take candy from strangers." and he quickly ducked back inside even further to disappear from the window and you could softly hear the murmur of his voice, talking to a female elderly voice. "Kenta, don't be so rude, ask them what you can do for them.", "But grandma!"
"No, no no, we are doing fine, this is none of their business. They should have been here yesterday and not show up because they have nothing better to do." The woman said who seemed to be a grump. She looked finally up to the two girls and only glared at Honey, a small hairy squirrel but she scrambled back and away from the taller spider. "You bring mutations in our house as if we do not have enough trouble already." But the first woman just broke down in sobs and did not seem to know what to do anymore or what to say and she just looked at the man, her husband, and wailing and crying. "He got hit on the head with a beam of our home, which is down the block, this is his sister's home." Which was the old grump that did not want to fix it or well not be fixed by the two students. "He doesn't eat, he does barely drink and I don't know what to do, he looks so bad, what do we do?" She tried to get closer to her husband, only to drop herself on the ground, face on the chair next to the bed and cry and cry and cry. There was this lose little towel against the man's had that seemed to be red with blood. Something definitely was up and it was up for the girls to decide what to do as it seemed more information the women could not provide as they were bickering together, mumbling that they did not need help or crying because of the problem. There seemed to be so much going on and all there was, was the silent man who did not seem to look at anything or grasp anything.

Yasashi rubbed his chin thinking over what the boy had said. The anger in his voice was probably fear, that was understandable. The hero-in-training tapped his nose once and looked at the windowsill, trying to keep attention on his face and not on the tensing of his leg muscles. Nearby, smooth pillars of off-grey metal began to rise up out of the ground at the front corners of the house, spines sprouted from them and grasped onto the sides of the building, holding it tight. "All the cushions huh? That must be a lot!" Yasashi said thoughtfully, looking up at the irritated Angelica. The boy was stubborn and refused to provide too much detail just yet.
His eyes twinkled a little bit and his smile remained but something in Yasashi's shoulder posture could only be described as a gentle reprimand to her bluntness. There was little the boy could do to fix his own problem at this point and what little he could do, or at least feel like he was doing, he was going to. That was just the way of things. He tilted his head and nodded toward the window; "Grampa needs plenty of cushions which means he's not in a bed and his condition requires him to be constantly lying down," That could imply any number of things from a minor injury to a serious fever. But it gave them somewhere to start.
"His sibling's asleep," He finished briefing her just in time for him to come back and reprimand her for offering him candy as a stranger. He burst out laughing, slapping his knee. "You're a funny guy Kenta!" He guffawed, his icy blue eyes twinkling; "Tell you what, I'll let you in on a little secret. My name's Tartarus, and this is Sugar Drop. We're Heroes," He held his finger up to his lips and leaned in conspiratorially; this was a little boy, who probably watched more than his fair share of cartoons. "But we're trying to keep a low profile so we haven't told anyone who we really are," He winked. "There, I don't think we're strangers anymore, do you Kenta?" He asked, leaning back. Yasashi rested his hands on his knees and regarded the boy; "You wanna be a hero to your sister and gramps? Bring them that candy. It'll help, I promise," Yasashi said with all the firmness and confidence he could muster. | TAG WORDS NOTES

Practice makes perfect But Aren't I already there? Angelica's eye twitched ever so slightly as the young child pointed out that height-wise she didn't have that much room to call him "little". Height had nothing to do with it. He was a child, therefore less educated than she, and he should have listened to her. That she wasn't as tall as Yasashi--who, in all fairness, was a giant--or likely even the boy's guardians was a side fact. Not important at all. He was lucky she was tasked with aiding him and his family and that he was currently the only point of communication, otherwise...
...hm. Actually, he wasn't wrong. She wasn't that much larger than the child. So then if he wouldn't do as she asked...
Why is he being so stubborn, anyway? If his family is in peril, and a lifeline is being offered to him, he should take it without hesitation. Children can be so proud sometimes. He should accept that he cannot do more and step aside.
He looks like he's around Nadia's age...
She put that thought on hold for a moment. Instead she extended her arm further towards him. "Then do not think of it as candy. Think of it as medicine, like you have been receiving from your neighbors, but in a different form. Surely if you have no qualms accepting medication from your neighbor you will have none toward this." As Yasashi spoke in turn Angelica looked up to survey the work his Quirk put in. Such a versatile tool. He and his mother were incredibly gifted, possessing both combative and healing capabilities.
Of course, that made he want to dissect it all the more. Not literally as that would be amoral. But she was always curious about summon style Quirks, and although his was classified as an emitter, he was still capable of creating those skeletons of his and giving them "life", if only to a smaller degree than a proper summon Quirk. How they moved, how they differed from normal bones, the extent of their abilities...she wanted to know all of it. Knowing and understanding were her strength.
As opposed to the literal brute strength of Yasashi. Speaking of which, if the house was under no threat of collapsing, that meant she had more time. She reached into her pockets again and withdrew more candies, four in total, and held them out in the palms of her hand. "One for each of your family. You will need to wake your sister for her to consume it, but it will treat whatever is wrong with her. The only thing they cannot mend at the moment is broken bone, but infections, fever, and pain will be relieved. Anything worse we will need to treat out here or bring them to a professional doctor."
And then if there is anything worse than a broken bone...
Well, that was why Nakahara-sensei was nearby. Anything Angelica could not handle, she could find somebody who could. Someday she wouldn't need to do that; she would be just as smart, just as skilled, and just as respected as Witch Doctor. Of course by then she wouldn't be a "hero" anymore. She would be a proper doctor in a proper hospital, or a well known pharmacist working on Quirk-adaptive medicines. Situations like this one would be a thing of the past--a good experience, perhaps, but nothing more than that. Others could do the rescuing from the rubble. That wasn't for her.
She had her own goals and plans to keep.

Honey was worried, the woman she stood closest too seemed to be the wife, and worried and sad and she understood that. This should be her job to comfort her and she looked shortly at Kumoko. She was the better one at healing or well first aid, so she would leave that to her. She almost glared at the other woman, complaining about mutation quirkers. Bleh. But she took the hand of the woman next to her and looked up, as she was small of course. "Ma'm, don't worry. We are heroes in training and that means we can do a lot and we will do everything we can to support you and look after this man. If we are unable to provide any help we will call our mentor, she is very smart and good you know. But she is busy, so let's first see what we can do to make him more comfortable okay?" The woman looked at her with big eyes and nodded, "Now you already did a good job with making sure he is comfortable in a bed and that you staunch the bleeding." She gave a tiny smile, now the woman stopped crying loudly and nodded again. Okay that was good, no stress here anymore and just maybe they could have a better conversation. Honey asked for a little chair or stool so she could climb up on it instead of on the bed, that would work better, and the woman complied. The one who had been complaining kept a close eye on both Honey and Kumoko.
Honey leaned on the bed now while standing on the stool and beckoned Kumoko to come, "What shall we do?" She whispered, again for advice, luckily she dared to ask Kumoko instead of Angelica. She always felt so dumb when she was around Angie. She wanted to check the eyes, to see if they were still responsive and if he was actually still reacting to things when it came to reflexes, so she suggested that as a thing to do while Kumoko could do something else. The bleeding obviously had not stopped but would they be good enough to heal it (were they able to?) or could they maybe stitch it? She shivered a little, trying to hide it as she made a little dance, she did not like the sight of that much blood, but she had to be strong.

Kumoko resisted the urge to glare at that grumpy lady, the one who had commented on the mutant students and was saying very dumb things. But it was hard, very hard to hold back and bite her tongue. Good grief! Why am I not surprised? As tempting as it was to tell her to shut up, however, Kumoko knew better than to say anything bad. As an intern of Witch Doctor, the spider-headed girl refused to do or say anything unprofessional. Best to ignore that woman's words for now. She was here to help heal, after all. Nothing was going to get in the way of that, whether the lady liked it or not.
To the other, much nicer lady, Kumoko gave a warm and reassuring smile. "Thank you for the explanation. I promise I'll do everything in my power to help him. You have my word." A small bow of the head. It was all Kumoko could do to try and comfort the poor lady. Honey was probably far better suited to helping cheer up others. It certainly helped that unlike Kumoko, Honey was not a literal walking piece of nightmare fuel. Just hearing the squirrel girl speak to the woman and seeing that the lady stopped crying made the spider girl smile. She wished she were that skilled in talking with people. How did Honey do that? But now was not the time to wonder about that. There was a job to do!
Kumoko went to Honey and listened to her question. "Hmm..." The spider girl could be indecisive at times, but that could not last forever. The time for action was now. She would just need to trust her judgment and put into practice all of the medical training she had learned. There was no time to hesitate, to second-guess herself. "You're far better at talking to others and comforting them than I could ever hope to be." Kumoko responded quietly. "You should continue comforting them if they need it. Or if you think they're fine, you could help me out." She then smiled. "We'll be fine! We can do this, no problem. There's no need to worry!" In a way, Kumoko was comforting and encouraging herself just as much as she was doing to Honey.
Alright, so the first step was to make sure the man was alright. While Honey checked on his eyes to check for a response, Kumoko looked at the wound itself. She immediately took out her first-aid kit. It was important to disinfect the wound if it hasn't already been done. Better safe than sorry. Wouldn't want to risk letting the wound get infected just because nobody was thorough enough. So after putting on sterilized gloves and taking care of mopping up the blood and cleaning the wound, it was time to try and close it. Perhaps stitching would be needed.
"Can you hear me?" Kumoko spoke to the patient. She was unsure if it would help, or even if he would be able to respond. But it wouldn't hurt to try, right? "I am Aurum Arachne. I will do everything I can to help you. I will start by stitching the wound on your head shut. Just bear with me, alright?" It was probably not going to be easy. Still, Kumoko needed to try her hardest. She just needed to remember her training, trust her instincts, and do her best.
