Ghostbusters [Nimue]

Nimue looked over her shoulder to look at her own reflection because even if the feeling that they were watched was much lower on her, it was a tingling in the back of her neck and she couldn't pinpoint it and just turned to look at the mirror that the barrier had become. She would take a deep breath and take the first step to lead Jessie and Lindiwe to the path, though her dryad quickly moved in front of them and would test the ground so to say and Nimue heaved her head, getting a little too sceptical when it was this issue. "A plan." were the words she murmured out loud and she thought about it. She took the spear parts from her belt and clicked them together, well at least the two middle parts as she did not want to look hostile yet, she looked at Jessie. "I am not sure if we should prepare for a fight or if we then look like hostile but it is already hostile if we go off with what Lindiwe feels." Then what could they do but prepare, she felt Uphondu stir and made a short comment to her that it was fine and he would get the chance in case it was necessary. She needed to think while she jumped over a little breach in the pavement and looked around in the jungle garden so to say.

Was it a nature spirit as she would like to believe? It was hard to imagine that she was a Christian and yet believed in stuff like this. She was born to be a Shaman, she just avoided it, she had moved out and now it was probably Cal that was the Shaman, something he probably had not wanted to become but she should not focus on it now. She watched Lindiwe who seemed to be hesitant and stopped, Nimue looked at her spirit but she had no idea if something was going on, she looked around to see if there was someone or something coming towards them. She held her breath to see if she could hear something by focusing better.

She did not know how to form a plan, what was their enemy or who was their enemy, anything really it was so vague and uncertain that she would just go on and muttering to herself as no concrete idea for this plan came. That's why she did not really pay attention to her surroundings, unconsciously she left that to Lindiwe and to Jessie. The thing was that she tried but trying to be the brains before a brawl without any information was difficult. Trying to focus, trying to wonder what she could do with her so-called gifts. They weren't like Jessie's. She held her spear loosely in her hands, ready to engage when necessary but also not immediately trying to look hostile, albeit having a weapon in your arms might look quite contradicting to that thought so who knew what the spirits thought.

She was a few steps away from Jessie, taking the first lead towards the garden at the back that Lindiwe pointed out but she stopped when Jessie called out and stared in front of her, but even though there was a jungle, she did not feel or hear anything and she could see pretty much the path before them. But there was no one? She turned to look over her shoulder to see where Jessie was looking before she got the next piece of information and turned her body completely to look at her partner and back at the ground.

She held her spear now ready to pounce, but not pointing forward, point still down to not hurt anyone yet. She took a few steps backwards and stared up at the giant... thing. She looked to Jessie and to Lindiwe as no one said anything, was this thing alright? could they talk to it, she wasn't sure and thus she bit her tongue, it felt like a being, she did not want to hurt it and followed its example of remaining exactly where she was.

Although the point of her spear had already been down, she quickly moved it even closer to the ground until Lindiwe pulled it up a little and she realized the ground was all vines and she would have hurt it even more. Okay, time to desperate measures. She unlocked the three shackles of her spear and made it three separated pieces that she connected back to her belt. It wasn't like she was powerless without it, so that would work fine. She nodded with Jessie's statement and she took a deep breath, but the question was how they would be able to help this... thing?

She felt a breeze go around her, it felt almost artificial and only at her and she smelled the smell of the forest, the river and the green grass. Why did that remind her of something? She looked at Jessie shortly to see if she or Lindiwe noticed it too, but nothing seemed to have happened to them and she looked around, what was so familiar? She followed the wind without realizing and stopped and turned to look over her shoulder when Jessie called her name, "Oh ehm." She turned to look back where she felt the wind but obviously saw nothing, "S-sure, If I can do anything I will." But why did her instincts tell her to go there, Lindiwe followed her and nodded, "I sense it too, it must be here to explain us what happens. It is showing us what to do." She followed the wind as if it was another spirit and she was brought to another side of the house and noticed the grind on the ground, it was quite a change from the vines and grass underneath her feet. "Oh." She said softly and stared at the rebuilding of the parking lot and she noticed the broken trees and a hole in the small looking forest patch next to that.

It still looked so new even with some vines here and there already covering it, most of it seemed to be untouched, she pondered and realized what the familiar sense was. "You-" she turned around, "You told me, humans came in the way to hurt you." But that couldn't be the same, that was near Tokyo. Why did no one ever respect Nature anymore and that it had feelings too? She looked around and wondered what to do, she was a doctor but how did you save the spirits if you could not touch them?

She did not have the ability to get into the hole and she waited for Jessie to come over while she and Lindiwe tried. Her companion tried to push her vine through it but it never worked. She would just say nothing and watch as Jessie came and tried something. She heaved her head to see better but wasn't sure what to do about it. She watched how she got her arm through and managed to break the thing that was in there and she turned to look at the vines that disappeared. "Strange world we live in, don't we?" She mumbled, the religions and the spiritualness of Asia was impressive and yet some tried to break something. She looked around and found a shovel and went to close the hole for as far as she could. "There, now our customer doesn't have to know the totem is gone." With a smug smile on her face she would walk back to the barrier that had disappeared as well.

She would just say not much more as they walked back to where they had left the man and she would take a deep breath. "Strange to do this but it's kind of satisfying." She made sure their client(?) didn't hear her. "Let's go for a drink some time?" As with other heroes, she would like to learn more about the others so they could actually be more friendly than just colleagues and she liked Jessie a lot. Maybe she should learn sign language though, it would be interesting to study for sure.

But first it was time to go back to Tokyo or Musutafu for the both of them. This was a story to tell and she would want to consider it a little more. Maybe it was something to work more with, she still did not get it from the government but this was a rich man, maybe an investor and they should show a good side.
