UA HIGH SCHOOL ADVANCED HERO COMBAT CLASS 3-B
The first full day of a new year, homeroom had been a brief affair. The morning sunlight did not bring with it the heat that the second and first years would have to deal with even as it rose a little higher in the sky. A growing warmth cast itself over the grass, dashing away the last hints of dew. The various buildings in ground alpha glittered like gems thanks to the ambient humidity. Here, young quirkers had tested themselves, had grown, had fought and bled to become stronger. It was here that these students; these third years, would face the final phase of their training going into the next part of their lives. It was here that they would become Pro Heroes.
At the center of Ground Alpha a lonely structure had been built over the Summer Vacation; an imposing three-tiered ziggurat made of iron, reinforced glass, and steel. Though it had an official name as designated by the government oversight committee; Training Facilitation Structure UA002; the teachers had come up with a different name for it. Fort Slog. Six stories tall, three hundred and sixty feet long and designed to be modular so that it can be tailored to specific difficulty levels; climbing to the top of the structure from the inside was the ultimate goal of those that entered.
Just outside the entrance to this glistening building, the students of class 3-B found themselves that day; the sun's reflection twinkled against the front of the structure; glancing its reflection off into the sky. Sitting atop the first tier was a figure that peered down at them through the slotted eyes of a horned angry helm. She got to her feet before leaping off the side and landing with a single thud that rattled the ground a bit. She rose to her feet and removed her helmet, tossing it aside and revealing a messy mane of wild yellow-blonde hair. Her green eyes blazed with a barely repressed intensity.
Years one and two had been given the drill sergeant treatment. While it would carry on for a while with year one and taper off sooner for year two. Year three, as far as their teacher hoped, did not need it. "Good to see you lot made it," She said wryly, bearing her teeth with the grin. She was on par in height with most of them but seemed to oddly be about their age, "Name's Taka Keiko, most of you know me as the Pro Hero Aquitaine," She tossed her helmet aside; "As you may have heard through the grapevine, Geist-Sensei is on a major assignment, I'm filling in for him. I spent most of the summer watching the recordings of his training sessions, your sports festival matches...both years...and reviewed academic logs," She nodded to them, "You all deserve to be here right now and you've all toughened up over the past two years," She put her hands on her hips. "I don't know you all yet as people or as future heroes, but that's what I'm about to find out."
Her speech, far more winded than for the other two years, continued; "In Advanced Hero Combat you won't be specifically working on your kit, nor will you be developing new techniques. It's your responsibility to begin building an arsenal on your own time or testing it while you're here. Nope, Advanced Hero Combat will be pulling everything you've learned together. Can you fight a villain while protecting civilians? Can you transport a payload while under fire? How is your situational awareness? What are your hard weaknesses and how do you cover them?" She jerked her thumb behind her at the massive building.
"That right there, the teachers and I call it Fort Slog. It's a Danger Room, Obstacle Course, maze, and Observation room all wrapped into one. The whole staff, past and present, your old sensei Geist included, got their heads together to submit ideas for traps and dangers to put in there. Year one will be working hard to earn the right to test themselves against it. Year two will be making runs on the first floor. You guys? Every damn one of you has to make it to the third floor; to the goal, by the end of the year, on Rookie Difficulty. That's my expectation," She crossed her arms behind her back and looked each of them in the eye.
"While we do that, we are going to get your bodies used to running on full for long periods of time. Sometimes a villain will have more stamina than you; you've gotta have the fortitude to muscle through the exhaustion, find some way to recharge, and keep going. But the mental and physical strain is something you can only get used to with experience..." She raised a hand, purple flame danced on it. "My quirk, Heraldry, will heal your body as long as you are within my range. It will also bolster and reinforce your stamina...for Seven Minutes. You will be able to go at full burn for Seven Minutes. Once that time's up, your time is up. All there is to it. You can still overstress your body and it will not dull any pain."
She looked them in the eyes severely; "Geist sincerely believed you guys could handle this without me cutting in to stop you from hurting yourself. I am going to trust him on that. I will not be intervening unless you put your own life at risk; got me? If you get injured because you do something stupid; heal on your own time and make it up in remedial classes, we're past the point of baby gloves and drill sergeant shouting," She nodded to them. "You either deserve the respect of your peers in the pro field, or you don't."
She took a deep breath and began to walk down the line, clapping them each on the shoulder, a heraldric mark formed where she put her hand. When she got to the end of the line she turned to look back at them; "You will be running in pairs, competing with one another. This round you can pick your opponent. Next time, I'll make that call. You have thirty seconds to pick your partner," She nodded and stepped away; "GET ON IT!" She shouted, grinning at them before walking over to the doors of the great structure and waiting for them.
Rule are simple, you can OOCly decide on how you want to split up your groups. Post an initial post here. After everyone has posted I'll do one more response that will list the circumstances of the rooms, its up to you how far you want to go. After that, you can split up into your own threads to do as much as you like. Keiko-Sensei will be cutting in now and then to comment or intervene if necessary. You have seven posts each, afterward, her quirk will run out and time will be up. We'll do one more round of posts here after that wrapping things up. That's it!

Well. She wondered if her delicate matter had been discussed to this new teacher as well or that Mosa or Itsuki had fixed that. Rowan did not want to be longer known as the delicate daisy that fainted during one of Geist classes. It wasn't that easy, it was rather complex but it was just what it was and there was not much to do about it than take this opportunity and see how it goes. She wasn't sure if she was that familiar with Aquitaine. But she was sure someone would know more about her and she looked to the side if she saw her friend. No, it was no time to be distracted. She moved to class B this last year and that meant she was now in a class with people that she seriously saw as her friends. Surprisingly, she has even voted class vice president again and she hoped this year would be a lot better than last. With those people around, she was sure it could only become better! She wasn't even nervous for this class, which was a miracle. The black-haired student heaved her head and listened to Aquitaine's explanation and nodded, oh what mission would Geist be on?
She was interested in this class, now with the better control of her quirk, she was no longer afraid to see what she could do. To really start working on becoming a hero instead of all the names she had called herself over the last two years. Why did she first think they would have to reach floor six and now it was floor three? How bad would the last three floors be? No time to worry, no time to be distracted. She had to listen. She nodded again though when Taka-sensei (she swore she heard that name before though) explained something about her quirk. Interesting matter and she nodded again mostly to herself. Okay seven minutes to run on full energy, that was interesting. It reminded her that she really needed to work on other abilities than just plain standing still and tanking. Hm, it was something to consider, maybe during her apprenticeship. She would ask Igarashi-sensei... wait she should ask him in general if he wanted her as an apprentice... Shoot, she had assumed it. Focus Rowan.
Okay so she would look for Miku, but realizing that she was always working together with Miku it was maybe smart to point out that she had other friends and that she was happy that she went to this class and thus would now find someone else. She hurried to her friend's side. Hoping Miku would not mind... "Hey Chim, do you want to be a team? We could see it as a game." The last words were mostly a joke to their last conversation. It would be something fun to think about and yet have a nice training and to learn more about making friends here, in 3-B. Alright, this was going to be fine and she was going to show her best side!

412 WC Into the room!! | Oh boy oh boy oh boy, year three combat classes. Already off to a great start. Chimera did not do notoriously bad on these, but the last time he'd been in a proper arena like this he'd gotten burned, blasted, knocked off a platform, and then chewed out for a solid five minutes afterwards. So he had some ground to regain here. Aquitaine was also a terrifying woman to deal with on the best of days. Seriously, she had a yell that made students stop dead in their tracks even if they weren't doing anything wrong--sometimes from even across the school grounds. Or maybe that was just him with the super-hearing getting a panic attack every time he heard her going off on another student. But...here she now was as their combat instructor. Was it in the rules of U.A that they had to hire the loudest, scariest heroes to teach combat?
Ah well, at least this time it wasn't a student-versus-student match, but rather a proper obstacle course. It sounded complicated and horrifying--if all the teachers had come up with traps and tricks to put in here, he didn't want to know what Junko Tanaka or, worse, Mikhail Orlov, decided to throw in--but that was all it was at its core. A complicated obstacle course. And they had the bonus of her Quirk granting them more energy, even if it was limited.
Did she say anything about breaking the traps? He had a horrible feeling that he would, somewhere, somehow, break one of the traps. But his whole thing was being a blunt force object. He was fast and strong but that was about it.
Well...if he broke anything, and she got mad, he'd offer to help fix it and take whatever he got dealt. But first he had to pick a partner. Miku? She might suffer being in a building, but he knew she was pretty adaptable and strong after last spring's tournament. Hm, maybe Tetsuko? Luka would do way too good at this if he was clever. What about Airi, or Risaka? Akio? Or even--
He caught Rowan approaching before she even spoke, the always present scent of fire following her gave her away. Chimera grinned with his whole muzzle. "Sure! Think you can handle the puns I might make along the way?"
This would be fine. Hell, it might even be fun. It just depended on their skill.

It was the first day of Year 3 and Miku already hated it. There was this incredibly intimidating new hero combat teacher who made her feel small. Anxiety was creeping there too. This Geist replacement Keiko Aquiatine was intimidating. Geist was too but he was a bit goofy. This one was just scary. Aquiatine explained the task what they had to do and what were her expectations. But one sentence stood out to Miku "You either deserve the respect of your peers in the pro field, or you don't." Yes, respect. She needs that. But now she needs to team up with someone. Miku looked at Rowan and smiled when she saw her. She was sure glad Rowan was in her class now. Although it looked like she was teaming up with Chimera. Miku understands, they cant always be together, they needed to branch out. Plus their teamup might be predictable. Besides, they can always team up as Pro Heroes if they want. They have time.
Right now Miku looked at the rest of her class, with Chimera and Rowan taken, Miku needed to weigh her options. Maybe Tetsuko now that Elise wasnt here to hog her. Right... maybe if she had bravery now to step up and ask. "God, I didnt make a step yet and I already feel crushed" Miku thought to herself, did this teacher have healing or intimidation as her quirk??

Keiko's eye twitched. What the hell was with the students here? Were they asking for a beating? Because damn it all that's what they were going to get. She crossed her arms and pursed her lips, tilting her head to scan those that had stepped up to take on the challenge. Certainly it was day one and the teachers were fairly lax; but first impressions were important too. The first on the list was Rowan Sakamoto, rich girl, smart, and with a potent quirk. She'd grown up a lot from when she'd first joined UA and her personality had improved a lot...but. She'd begun to plateau a little based on what Keiko had seen, she needed to step up her game if she was going to stand apart. Chimera was tense; she could see it in his shoulders, but he was also a member of the disciplinary committee which gave his point of view something she could understand-seeing as what her previous line of work was.
Finally there was Miku, Miku was... difficult to read. There was something off. Her presence was dour and she seemed to be distant. Her quirk was frankly incredible and it left a lot of opportunity for flexibility and technical skills. Yet for some reason the girl insisted as if she was on her last legs academically. She needed support. Keiko frowned a little and scratched her nose; was this... this how Ya- she shook her head and cleared her throat. She couldn't just play favorites. She sighed through her nostrils and looked at Miku. Nope, she couldn't help herself. She strode toward the three of them and put her hands on her hips. She loomed over them for a few moments before exhaling and plastering a relaxed smile on her face.
"It's just day one, you know," She offered, scratching her head and looking away. "You guys made it this far, don't be so nervous," She looked at Rowan. "Consider this a trial run, I want to see where we need to fine tune your quirks and your kits. Don't worry so much about standing out today, just do your absolute best; don't be afraid to put your heart on the line. There's no expectation of victory here, just...self control. Don't hurt yourselves," She said and flushed a little before looking at Chimera. "You three have a chance here to play things as you want and get a feel for the challenge ahead of the rest of your class, have fun with it, we can replace everything in there, go nuts," She finally turned to Miku; "I'm... working with a friend of mine, Pixie, on tailoring training for you guys. Just do your best and don't be afraid to mess up. It's my job to build you up, rely on me a little."
She chuckled and turned away, putting her hands on her hips and clearing her throat. "I aherm, I know I'm a bit scary but that's just my job..." She walked toward the building. "Since it's just the three of you, run it as a team, you got seven minutes."
And now the moment you've been waiting for... the settings for April-May's Fort Slog Traps.

She put a little step back as the teacher glared at her and she looked at the two people by her side. Oi, she had stood up first to ask Chimera, so it was better than those standing back still right? She pouted, did not like to be the centre of attention while she believed she was doing something, she had aimed to be the first to start and apparently that wasn't good either. She crossed her arms in front of her chest and simply listened to Aquitaine without saying anything. She looked up though when she said that they were a team with the three of them and she looked surprised at the team that she was forming with Miku. Now she felt a little sheepish, she had not wanted to drop Miku but she had wanted to prove that she wouldn't automatically make teams with her best friend because they were now in the same class. But it wasn't bad, she was now a team with two of her friends. "Let's do this." she muttered under her breath. But right they had only so many minutes that the quirk of their teacher worked and she looked at both of her partners before running towards the start of the building. She wasn't sure what they should do until she saw a dummy and looked at the other two, "We should carry that probably?" But they needed tactics, Chim was the strongest but the dummy was easy to carry for her and Miku too, wouldn't it be better if they saved Chim's strength and power for other stuff? She frowned, this was what she wanted to work on, this was what she signed up for her future apprenticeships, to work on understanding and seeing tactics and strategy stuff. "I can carry, I could still use one of my arms to use ammunition for explosions." She looked at the other two, if they did not stop or convince her otherwise, she would lift up the dummy and carefully hold the so-called person on her back. She wanted to consider this real so this was a real civilian, although the dummy did not walk, she would use it in this way. This was the best she could imagine for now and they would have to go through this maze of people and buildings, she had no idea what was the best strategy to go through such a thing. While that was the most important aspect for her future.

473 WC Move out, nerds! | Chimera's sensitive ear twitched at the sound of a footfall nearby before Keiko-sensei even spoke up. When she did he properly turned towards her to listen. Huh. It wasn't that he didn't expect her to be nothing but shouting and fear tactics--that'd be rude--but he hadn't expected her to look so shy while talking. Not when she'd been so boisterous seconds ago. Maybe she was the sort who felt more comfortable talking to (or at) a crowd or an individual rather than a small group. Chimera could relate if that were the case. He felt a lot better with friends, but when he was on stage he felt weirdly fine. Less so since the--
Anyway.
He probably shouldn't keep his back so stiff, though, if she was just going to be encouraging them. It looks a little silly. Chimera's stance didn't slacken, but he did let his shoulders drop. Her encouragement was mixed in with some other bits of advice: don't get hurt, break whatever they wanted in there, and have fun with it. Chimera blinked once, then a slight grin pulled at the edges of his mouth. "Yes sensei." He responded quickly, then returned his attention to both Rowan and Miku. They totally had this, they absolutely totally had this. And even if they didn't have it, being paired with both of them would be fun.
"If you've got them," he pointed at the dummy that Rowan had put on her back, "Then I'll stand in front. I'm bigger than both of you--uh, no offense--so I'm an easier target, but I can also hear and smell better which might help to guide through the maze. And I can take a lot of hits. So. I'll tank, Rowan's kinda support and range damage...Miku, if you can do anything with those vine arms, but, like, as a wall behind you? You could tank from the rear? We've got to get them through first and foremost. Fighting the guys aren't necessary...I think. Though." Chimera tilted his head back. "Can you have your dragon go auto-pilot and just harass whatever's ahead of us for a while? Or do you need to focus on it? That might be more useful...but what do you think is best?""
Chimera stood in front of Rowan and Miku, towering over both of them like a proper tanking character from those multiplayer shooter games that Yojin had showed him. This was kind of just like the "payload" style levels. They had this, totally. Once they were ready he'd start leading the little train carefully through the fairly convincing--Whoa, where'd they get the budget for this thing? It's fucking huge--"city" streets. He felt no more energetic than usual, but then again he wasn't sprinting at full speed yet. He'd probably feel it then..

While Keiko was an incredibly scary teacher, her words were a bit reassuring and calming. Miku nodded when Keiko spoke to her and said "Yes ma'am. I will do my best!"
The teacher chuckled and turned away, clearing her throat and admitting that she knows she's scary. But thats the job. Since its the three of them, they can be a team. That got a smile on Miku's face. She really was happy to be not just with Rowan, but Chimera as well. Maybe they can become friends now if they bond over an excercise
Right, now was the time to work. Rowan said she can carry the dummy, Chimera is taking the front. It was logical that Miku is the rear "I will hold on the rear. And I can get my dragon to help me guard the rear. Sadly no such thing as autopilot. Its not a summon but a constuct, so I puppet master it" Miku explained to Chimera, and as she spoke she took a seed and grew the dragon. This time the dragon was not going to fly, but walk on its two legs and stick close to them. "We will guard the rear. Ok? Dont worry gang, we got this" Miku said with a bit of confidence and gave them a thumbs up. She will follow their lead and protect them from any sneak attacks

Rowan nodded, and waved away the comment Chimera made, "It's straight facts. I think we as future heroes should just make sure we all know who is better in what without being offended, right?" She smiled and got the dummy on her back, with some help because a lifeless doll was not easy to put on your back on your own. She got up from her hunched down position and checked if she could reach either of the stuff on her hips to send marbles or bouncing balls to potential enemies. She nodded again at both of them before following Chimera through the streets that the building had inside. Looking up and trying to keep eyes and ears open, though she was sure that Chimera would see the people earlier than she did. Yet there was no harm in keeping her attention with it as well, while she walked between Miku and Chimera. "Are we sure there are no villains in the buildings?" She looked up again at some of the tall skyscraper impressions that took this floor and the next. She wasn't sure how to get there but well the route was pretty clear from what she got the idea from.
One step in front of the other, she had a bouncing ball in her right hand, though it wasn't activated or anything as she got the control over her quirk quite well since before the sports festival a few months ago. It was a strange phenomenon for Rowan, but one she definitely did enjoy. She thought she heard something, it would be at the next crossroad that they had and she leaned a bit more to the right side of the road as the sound seem to come from the left. She couldn't see it yet, buildings were in the way and her eyes switched from Chimera to the corner. It wouldn't be too far away from them now, but definitely people were coming. Was it their intention to just avoid everything or to make their way on and fight people head-on? What was most important in such a situation? Sometimes, she realized she had still so much to learn.

471 WC Move IN, nerds! | Chimera was ready to make a joke about the villains in the buildings being "dummies" anyway, so they didn't have a reason to worry about them, when he felt the ever familiar pelting of beanbag rounds on his shoulders. He grunted and shook them off. They didn't hurt nearly as bad as they could have--that had to be Keiko's Quirk in action. Neat. His ears twitched as he ran, keening towards where he heard "guns" refilling and mechanics whirring. "Oh they're in there alright! But the mission is escort, not fighting. Unless you see an opening that won't slow you down I wouldn't go for it." Even if they were real villains and this was a real scenario, they should be putting priority on their civilian's safety, right? Chimera could take hits for them and Miku could send her puppet to take out those on their back. All Roward had to do was run.
All of the buildings were hallow save their "villains", and he probably could have charged holes in them straight to the end of the room, but he didn't want to risk smacking one of the girls or the "civilian" with a chunk of rubble. Instead he had to rely on his ears. It took a little more time for his ears to be able to pick up the right ways to go in the maze of "skyscrapers", but little differences in how sound bounced off the interior walls started giving him hints. As they ran he'd give barks of "Right!" and "Left!" and extend his arms behind him to help protect the payload--err, "person"--as they turned. The beanbag rounds that hit him still didn't hurt too badly compared to, well, real bullets, but also the normal training rounds. That had to be the Quirk on him. It made it a lot easier to take the hits not only for himself but for the rest of them, and still keep going.
Once Yojin could make his suit stronger, he'd probably be able to take this kind of damage regularly. That wasn't a great thing, but it could be the difference between him getting hit and going down or him getting hit and still going.
"I think I hear the way up!" Chimera pointed between a series of close-knit buildings, which looked to be creating a hallway of sorts towards the wall. The automatic fire of the villains was echoing differently down that way. It might have been because of how dense the buildings were, but it could have also been because a smaller, sturdier room was beyond them. The stairwell up, or perhaps even an elevator. So if they went that way they should be close!
"There's a lot of guys in there. Miku, are you ready to take some out?"

Miku nodded "Yeah. Facts. We all need to know our strengths and weaknesses so we can all be assigned to a proper role in the team formation" Miku chimed in and added onto what Rowan said
Speaking of Rowan, she smiled and got the dummy on her back, with a bit of help. After that she got up from her hunched position and checked if she can reach her marble ammunition like this. She nodded because it seemed she could do that. Once the girls were set, they followed Chimera.
Miku guarded the rear and kept her eyes peeled as she puppeted the dragon she constructed. Her eyes and ears were alerted for a floor creak footstep, ruffle of the wind or whatever noise that she, Chimera and Rowan didnt make. Speaking of noise, Rowan asked if they were all sure there are no villains in the building. Miku replied "I dont know. But I'd rather expect the unexpected. Its best to be prepared for maximum threat. If we think theres no one here, we could be caught with our pants down"
As they went on, Rowan held a bouncy ball in her hand, she was clearly ready for anything as well. Miku was too. She reached down to her fanny pack and grabbed a seed and was ready for anything. Soon they heard something. Foes? Yeah, it was best to be ready. Miku was just support in this case not a main fighter. But all in all, their mission was clear. This was no battle. This was an escort. Their goal was to keep their dummy safe.
"Rowan we can cover for you!" Miku vouched as she prepared to strike anyone who dared to jeopardize their escort mission. Miku was itching to see if she managed to improve her skills during this time

She thought she heard something, moving the civilian body bag a little better on her back, she made sure to hold on properly and even stopped tossing the bouncing ball and just held on to it. Her face immediately changed in what you call a resting bitch face, it was her serious face and it wasn't always the greatest idea. But she agreed with Chimera and her job especially was to get out as soon as possible as she was carrying the civilian. "I agree. You need to know what fight you are fighting so let's go." And leave! She tried to go a little faster and grumbled at herself for not being that fast, she felt this time the weight of the so-called body as she tried to sort of move faster, shoot, that was a calculation she had not taken in mind. Was Miku fast in running? She wouldn't be surprised if Chimera did. But that was now not the point, they couldn't switch and she hurried on. If she saw an opening, she repeated the words Chimera said, only then she should engage and as they were distracted, she should make sure that no one came close to her, that was what the bouncing ball was for. So she did what she could, which was follow Chimera's orders on which way to go and try to do so as quick as possible.
Right okay then, one last dash, "Should I already go?" She couldn't hear it, Chimera did so she would ask him if she should pass them and run on while they would make the cover for her. She had a firm grip on the ball, now relax, she just did not like to make mistakes, they were essential, they could kill people if she wasn't doing the proper work. God that would be stupid. She would just wait for an idea before running off towards the stairs.

608 WC read for your lives!! | "Yeah, run! It's right there! Go go go!"
Chimera kept his steps a couple in front of Rowan, keeping any oncoming fire off of her. Some rubber bullets bounced off of his horns, or were swatted aside by his arms. They should have hurt more--he registered them, still, they weren't completely harmless--but Keiko-sensei's Quirk was definitely doing its work. The pain was gone only a couple of seconds after it took. It made him wish he had a regenerative ability all the time. Some things would have been way easier, like the last time he was shot--
--well wasn't that a great time to feel that spike of panic, but moving on.
He glanced over his shoulder, stopping before he got through the stairwell to let Rowan in first and check to be sure that Miku was getting through alright.
If she wasn't, scooping her up and carrying her along would take half a second. But he wouldn't go doing that if she looked like she was handling things herself. He knew she was much, much stronger than the dainty little daisy she looked like--she'd literally tossed his ass around like it was nothing! That was the last time he ever underestimated a lithe limb'd lady like her.
Once they made it through the stairwell, he shut the door behind them, and let out a long breath. "Alright! Woo! Floor one, done! Urrrrrrrgh and we can't stop can we?" Chimera chuckled through a groan and started up the stairs, taking them two at a time. They had until Keiko-sensei's Quirk wore out, so they didn't have the chance to catch their breath. At least it kept them from feeling tired for the most part...well, mostly--he could feel it on the edge of his consciousness, as more time went on, but it wasn't going to fade yet.
Up and up the stairs they would go until they reached the next floor. Technically it was the third floor, since the first was extended up into the second, but whatever. Looking around it didn't seem to be too intimidating. Just a big empty room with a table in the center, a box on it, and two other things chained to opposite walls, a fair distance from the table. Tilting his head Chimera went up to the table first and looked over the box. It looked like a--
"Is this a bomb."
He said it so deadpan, it was clear he wasn't sure of it himself.
There is no way an actual bomb would be in this exercise, right?
At least, not a fatal one. Maybe one that filled the room with smoke, or gave a signal that could otherwise fail them. But yes, upon closer inspection, it looked like a bomb with four panels on it--two with multiple wires on it, one with a big red button, and the last with a timer on it. A timer that was clicking down from five minutes, to four minutes and fifty seconds...to four and--shit shit shit.
"That IS a bomb!" Chimera yelped and stepped back from the table. Okay. Great. What were they meant to do with this?! Defuse it?! But they didn't have instructions, did they?...or were those what was chained to the walls?
But he couldn't possibly read those from here. Not without running back and forth, and even if he was fast, those panels were thick. They could have a ton of information in them to distract him. It could take up too much time.
So then--
"Uhh--guys! What do those things on the wall say?? Are they instructions??"

Like a cool and controlled team, they all assisted eachother in any way, shape or form. Using one owns quirk to assist another and so on. In this case Chims hearing way really helpful and he stepped up to the challenge like a champ. Once he gave them the green light to go. They all went. Chimera kept his steps a couple in front of Rowan, keeping any oncoming fire off of her. Meanwhile Miku did the same, but just with the rear. Miku guarded the rear, so she used her plant dragon to block any rubber bullets incoming to hit them. After all, her dragon was made of wood. It did not feel anything as it wasnt living. In this case, it acted as a real shield. But that is to say, even if the dragon blocked the rubber bullets and spread its wings. It was still made of wood. And its wings were made leaves. Not material blocking. So some rubber bullets ended up hitting Miku on the shoulder and such. Owie.
All in all, Miku was doing her job in the rear and she was keeping up fairly well. She was not the fastest, but she was holding up. Once Rowan went up the stairwell, she gave a nod to Chim to go ahead and not wait for her, because she followed suit. She went up the stairwell
Once the gang made it through the stairwell, Chimera was the one who shut the door behind them, and let out a long breath. "Woo!" Miku lightly celebrated with chim. But when he said that they cant stop, Miku chuckled "Oh yeah. We gotta get a move on, I guess. So... why dont we do that?" she suggested
Onward the gang would go and thus reached the next floor where their next challenge would await them. Miku looked around them, just to get the feel of their surroundings. Al in all, it seemed like a big empty room with a table in the center, a box on it, and two other things chained to opposite walls, a fair distance from the table. Miku walked over to wall, to see what she can read on it. Meanwhile, Chimera went to the table first
Suddenly, she heard some chilling words from him "Is this a bomb." No... no.. it cant be it. He just joked. You know all Chimera.... such .... such a jokester. Oh silly Chimera... But soon Miku's mental ramblings were proven false "That IS a bomb!" DAMMIT WHY
"But still... it cant be real, right? A-ah okay Miku. Calm down. Calm down. Poker face. Gamer brain. You sorta dealt with this. You're a gamer. There's a game where you and your partner defuse a bomb. One reads instructions, others follow it. This can be like that game" Miku thought to herself
Miku tried to take charge. Sure she had video game experiences, but games take inspiration from real life and some games are even simulators. If theres a goat simulator and a goose simulator. Then Miku sure as hell played a bomb defusal simulator "Okay Chimera! You describe the bomb to us in great detail. I'll try and see what I can find here." Miku told him

She felt it, though with Aquintaine's quirk it was not that obvious but there was a pain in her back and her arms were getting sluggish and heavy. Carrying the dummy wasn't like the most fun job but she was doing it anyway and she would see how it worked for her. It was only for the first floor, right? She would still carry it while running up the stairs after she heard Chimera close it. Seven minutes was a drastic low time because she was sure she needed a bunch of sugar-coated cookies if got out of here. She felt tired and when reaching the second obstacle floor, she had to take a moment to lift up her shoulders and roll them for a bit. "Is this now without the dummy or do we take them through the whole building?" Because that would make sense, but not maybe for fort slog. There were too many questions, she did not want to think about it. Time was of the essence and she could not put the person down and pick them up in a fluent way, in a quick movement, so she would just carry on.
"I almost wonder how accurate stupid movies are." She mumbled out loud when Chimera made the conclusion that it really was a bomb. Her brain obviously wanted to know the "how, what, why" questions but she tried to focus and do as he said by moving to one of the panels. "Like exploding the defuser or something, so it wouldn't all explode." But movies were mostly inaccurate, so she did not think it was a good idea to try and she would just sum up (first for herself) what the panel said to rely the information to Chimera. "Something about a red line that is the answer to the solution." But she did not get it, it said nothing about containing it, stopping it or whatever... no wait, it said it would contain it. Huh? She tried to read it again, not getting it, the red line also did not seem to be on the bomb but here on the wall with her. Too many questions and she wanted to be more than a carrier, she wanted to be useful too. She shouldn't think that way, after all she wanted to work together and so on, she wanted to be able to do this. Theory was a lot easier than practice.
