Yumi’s spring break, as brief as the Japanese terms allowed it to be, was going pretty well. As much as she still had a tonne of things to juggle it was a lot better having a bit of free time in the middle of it. Sure school was nice, but training drills for the 100th time in a row and then going home to spend time studying for her teaching course or working on a blog entry, or a new cosplay FOR her blog, or an ACTUAL modelling job and… with the immense distraction that her new boyfriend was (though that was mostly her own fault)
Yeah. At least being able to cut out the part where she did the 100th training drill for some actual personal time was helping her relax a lot there. Of course, it meant she had less access to her teachers when she was looking for some advice in how to progress with her teaching studies, if she wanted any past exam marking schemes to look at or help understanding how curve grading works, or heck, even just asking more personal questions about how they handled teaching subjects that had never existed before but…
Well. She had a small solution for that. Only a small one mind.
See, when the original language teacher left, Alisa was a good replacement. Not just because she was an engaging teacher who stuck around even after her pro license had been briefly revoked for… difficult to understand reasons, but also because she had a much more personal connection with Yumi herself. Of course some people might think it was best for teachers and students to have a disconnect between them, but Yumi really enjoyed the fact she could talk to one of her teachers more as a pear, feeling it might help her get her ‘foot in the door’ trying to get her other teachers to act similarly to her if she was ever to be working alongside them.
Now, as for today’s specific conundrum, a part of next term’s subjects was in fact going to be looking at how to mark test papers, and with very few supplies online of how to do this in practice (there was a lot of ‘sheer guidance’ the hard rules to follow, but nothing that advised on how far to take interpretations of a student’s work or the like), Yumi had hoped Alisa might be of some help, having texted back and forth and eventually arranging a time they could meet up and Alisa could drop off some of the old papers. The address of her place sent, Yumi was just spending her morning idly cleaning up after her and Red. He was off on one of his jobs so she made sure to lock the garage door so they didn’t go into his workshop by mistake, humming the tune that was playing on her headphones as she tossed some cushions back onto the couch from when the two of them had been watching anime with blankets on the floor the night before.

Things had turned out quite hectic in the past few days... Alisa had lost her teacher's licence in the wake of the exhibition festival in England, thought not quite as a direct result of that. Officially, she really hadn't been doing much as a pro hero, arguably to focus on her work as a schoolteacher. Secretly though, Alisa had a whole other goal, a piece of information that had magically dropped in her lap, something that required quite a bit less public attention. That said, her students were still very much her priority "I wonder what she's up to~...", mused the lithomancer, adjusting the purse over her shoulder, wondering what her hard working student would do with all the free time she had. Clad in a casual, short white T-shirt paired with tight and flattering, form fitting blue jeans that highlighted the shapely outlines of her long legs, revealing quite a few inches of her tight, toned midriff between them, Alisa Vollan looked anything but a schoolteacher. Instead, she'd have passed off as just a young woman out and about, a cool beauty making the most of this breezy day as she strolled around the streets of Tokyo, fanning herself ever so often... "Fufu~... Almost too beautiful a day to be cooped up indoors...", she wondered, glancing up into the skies as she brushed her long, silky black hair as the occasional gust whipped it against her face Spring had only just arrived thought it well and truly felt like summer the past few days, and the teacher had come out dressed as such. As someone who coped better with cold over heat, she found herself wiping the occasional glisten of sweat off her brow, far preferring to walk over the shades as she wondered what she'd find at her student's place. Spring break was never truly a break for a teacher, there were tests and projects to grade, classes to prepare for the coming term. Understandably, she had had also come here with teaching it mind, thought with a whole other goal as she walked up to Yumi's door and knocked, peeling off her snazzy sunglasses and slipping them on the neckline of her shirt... Yumi's ears perked up at the sound of the door knock as she'd been expecting it, tossing a couch cushion back in place as the final touch of making sure everything seemed at least relatively clean. Seemed Alisa was here and with Red out they may be able to talk pretty easily if Yumi had any questions about the notes she'd expected the former heroine to bring. A little eager to get to the door, she stopped halfway, noticing she was still in the clothes she'd just thrown on to tidy up, a green tank top, form fitting but clearly a 'stay at home' sort of item and some cargo shorts. Not an entirely unflatteirng outfit but to try and seem like she was making a fraction more of an effort, she grabbed her orange zip up hoodie and threw it over her shoulders, pulling up the sleeves a little and discharging her natural static build up so as not to zap her teacher when she answered the door for her.
Peeking around the door even as she opened it, she gave a warm smile to the raven haired woman as she answered. She briefly glanced down along her, and while it was a 'view' of sorts to say the least, Yumi didn't seem all too flustered. Alisa was quite a... flirty teacher, to say the least, and Yumi had rapidly grown used to her purposely trying to get a rise out of her, actually admiring her clothing choice more now than what it revealed, pulling the door open fully with a wide smile. "Good moorning Miss Vollan? You find the place okay? I know we're a little tucked away but seems you found us well enough.~" She'd ask, looking down over her again, meeting her eyes once more with a chipper expression. "You look great by the way. If er...it's not too forward, might I ask where you got those jeans before we get 'down to business' and all that serious stuff?"

Alisa flashed her that cool, graceful smile as her student opened the door, clearly pleased that the girl didn't keep her waiting long: "Well, hello there.", greeted the sculptress, her eyes casually scanning down the pretty redhead's form, merely taking in her homey choice of outfit, before looking back up into her eyes with a dismissive wave of her hand, "It was no trouble really, you gave quite the clear set of directions after all~" Throwing her a playful little wink, Alisa couldn't help but chuckle as she caught the girl taking in her own choice of attire, though instead of merely blushing and glancing off when Alisa caught her, she actually expressed her interest in it: "Oh...? Why, you like them that much hmm~?", in return, Alisa merely turned on her side ever so slightly, perhaps out of a natural instinct from all her experience as a model, Alisa all but struck a pose as the girl expressed inquired on the garment, sliding her hand down to her wide, full hip as her heel rose but a few inches off the ground. Clearly unconcerned, the off work teacher simply allowed the redhead admire the pale blue skinny jeans as they squeezed tightly around the curvaceous tone of her long legs, "I bought them on at the Levi's shop, the one at the mall near the school... Fufu, nothing that special about them really~"
Alisa's posture seemed ever so slightly different from how she approached Yumi at school, understandably so... Out here she carried herself in an understandably nonchalant fashion, and didn't really mind showing off her choice of wardrobe for her student to admire before she strode inside her home. Being her first one there, Alisa could only look left, then right, brow raising as she simply took in Yumi's abode, knowing she could tell a lot about a person simply from the kind of place they made their home.

Yumi beamed a little brightly for a sec when Alisa confirmed it wasn’t an issue getting here. Well that was good at least, and it showed Yumi had a good enough sense of the local landmarks to guide anyone else in the future. Google maps made it easy enough these days to just give someone your address but even that could get confusing with a misplaced letter so… yeah. Yumi felt more at ease. “I’m glad it wasn’t an issue for you sensei.”
She’d nod along when Alisa caught her interest in the attire, the playful wink going amiss just a little, starting to get a little more used to her sensei’s just playful disposition, giggling along with it a little even and just assuming the more mature woman liked to be a bit playful when messing with her students. Not that Yumi minded. If anything it gave her a bit of belief she may be able to retain her own bubbly disposition when she becomes a teacher. Fingers crossed.
The side turn did catch her eye… briefly. If only because Alisa’s figure was definitely an impressive one. Not out of place for a heroine in terms of how physically fit she was but her curves… well even as a part time model herself Yumi couldn’t help but be a bit impressed by the lucky roll of the dice this woman got when it came to genetics. Woman was almost an hourglass whatever angle you hit her from. “E-erm… y-yeah. They… t-they fit you well.”
She gulped, her nerves back a little but turning around to lead her teacher in for a sec and also as a helpful excuse to hide her own blush. “W-well that’s great to know I-I might hit it up if I have spare time!~ S-see if they just look that good on everyone.”
Come on Yumi you already had an awkward enough reputation without perving on the teacher. That was the job of the lads in your class not you.
“So erm… as I said on the phone I was just having trouble working with the material they have on how to grade papers. It doesn’t really allow for much nuance so… d-did you manage to bring some stuff I might be able to look over? M-maybe some past test papers you could walk me through on how you graded them for each student? I mean I know you can’t allow toooo much leniency but when you know the students well enough I can imagine you can understand what they’re TRYING to say a little better yeah?”

Indeed, merely carrying your phone around made things much easier but in Yumi's defense, quite a good number of people managed to mess it up even with such detailled assistance to help them along. Alisa couldn't help but chuckle, getting a slight urge to tease the ravishing readhead standing in front of her for thinking that her teacher could actually get lost so easily. No, she'd much rather play around with her for the attention given to the lithomancer's clothing: "Ufufu~ You have good taste, don't you Miss Tasukai...?", added the sculptress, cocking her hip to one side, slipping her fingertips into her pocket for a moment there, quite a bit more taken by the girl's flustered attention than she let on. God she looked cute~ From what she knew of Yumi Tasukai, she seemed like the kind of girl who was always in control, more confident than her peers... One of the cool kids... And now here she was, fumbling all over herself until the teacher couldn't help but giggle as she cupped her cheek and cocked her head into it, "Well, I'm certain you could pull them off quite well if you were so inclined. Granted, I doubt too many people could boast about the same feat."
For once, she actually allowed the girl to spot her glancing down her tight, toned form, nodding as if confirming those encouraging words. After all, she'd taken the girl along on a modelling shoot, and knew fully well just how good she could look in... Well a variety of outfits really~ Satisfied with the looks she'd already gotten, she graciously allowed Yumi to change subject, merely chuckling as she walked past her and dropped her purse on the nearby table, reaching into it and picking out a stack of papers:
"Grading... Is how you set the exceptional apart from the good. You can have the lion's share of the scores done through multiple choice questions, and I defenitely recomend leaning into them as you start out but... If too many of your students are getting the same scores, you're missing a chance to see for yourself. Just what exactly they, as students, are missing, and what you, as their teacher can give them.", with this quick explanation, Alisa's eyes narrowed as she looked to Yumi every now and then, casually striding over to her dinner table dropped the stack of papers on it and pulled up a chair, sitting down on it and patting the one next to her, "Come on~... Why don't you join me over here and I'll just show you how I do it?" Little did she know that these weren't actual exams... If Alisa still had any exams to grade, she'd have taken care of them before she agreed to meet up with one of her students. Instead, shr brought over the practice sheets she'd given her students for the actual exams... Almost as good as the real thing, and perfect for Yumi to practice on since, well... No students would be harmed if she misgraded something.

“Well er… I guess trying for the whole modelling thing has really upped my fashion sense?” She responded with mild nerves, not really sure what to make of her teacher complimenting her sense of taste when it came to their clothing. Typically she was more in the sporty sense of attire anyway but she could admit her sense of clothing had been maturing a bit lately. She still liked for her personal time to wear cozy shirts and maybe some hoodies and stuff but when it came to thinking what she looked GOOD in… well, yeah, that had been shifting a bit recently. “Thank you for the compliment though sensei. I’ll er… let you know if I pick up a pair I guess?”
She gulped a little when she noticed that Alisa was glancing down her form, trying not to seem too self conscious when she registered that, though perhaps idly holding her arms about herself for a moment when she sharply turned to guide her teacher deeper into her home. “Y-yeah. Thanks.” Guess the level of confidence and well… ‘used to it’ ness she’d developed with Alisa didn’t last all too long. With the two sitting at her dining table in the kitchen area, Yumi sitting close but not in the seat right next to Alisa either, giving her some room to display the test papers on the table. Yumi recognized them herself from a practice exam they’d had, nodding along at the offer to work on them with her.
“Okay, yeah. I know multiple choice ones are pretty simple. If someone picked incorrectly well… you can’t do much for them in terms of interpretation, but the long-written answers are more what im cautious about I suppose. Those can take a bit of personal interpretation I imagine, and just because a student can’t put words to paper doesn’t mean they aren’t displaying they have an understanding of the concept. It just means they can’t display that concept themselves….” She sighed softly. “Am I making sense or talking out of my ass… e-erm. Pardon the French…”
Picking up one of the practice papers she’d turn over the front page, briefly darting back out of the room and coming back with a pencil case she had with some red and green pens too so she could more ‘professionally’ write corrections or provide positive feedback. “I can recognize these are just test papers but… helps get into the habit if I use proper pens and that now I guess.”

"Well, when we did that modelling shoot, quite frankly it didn't seem to me like you had too much to improve. But since nobody's perfect, there's always something for those who look for it~", indeed, Alisa appreciated Yumi's humility a let more than she let on, recognizing it as the mark of someone who would never quite feel complacent with what she had achieved... Even on something as superficial as one's fashion sense~ At the same time, she couldn't quite get enough of the endearing responses she got from the girl at only the slighest hint of praise and show of appreciation, though she wasn't so mean as to come over to her place to leave her host a flustered mess of herself. But as she expressed her difficulties in her future job as a teacher, teh sculptress couldn't help but raise a hand over her mouth:
"Mon dieu, I can't imagine what kind of french of you've been speaking~"
That is... Quite the cheeky choice of words to use with a French woman, and a linguistic teacher of all people. The irony wasn't lost on Alisa, and though she certainly didn't take any offense to it, those ruby red eyes narrowed as she she cupped her cheek and pitched her own two cents, pushing one of the worksheets towards Yumi as she saw the girl pick out her red pen: "You're free to use any color you'd like, especially if it helps your thought process along.", nodded the teacher, encouragingly, crossing those long, elegant legs under the table as she leaned in ever so slightly, letting those long tresses of dark hair drape down over the table as she got a closer look at what Yumi wrote, before looking into those doubtful amber eyes and adding, "Well, if you cannot explain it to a 6 year old, you just don't understand it well enough...", she quoted, raising a finger in the air as she thought back to the words of a brilliant scientist. Science should simple, in whatever shape or form, and that lone provided a golden standard for teachers like Alisa to gauge how well her students understood the material. Whether a keen understanding turned out to be accurate, or inaccurate, well... That was a different story altogether, "And that is one of the criteria you should always focus on when grading written answers. How well does your student get their point across? How long do you take trying to make sense of it? If you ultimately cannot, no real point in attempting in using any of the others."

“Oh… nyeh.” She let out her usual ‘defeated’ battle cry. Or, well, cry of defeat she supposed was more acurrate, just a soft whine like sound as she shifted her eyes away with a mild blush. She could feel really confident when she was on those shoots but up against the natural confidence of her teacher, and the dynamic between them, it was certainly something hard to maintain.
Her blush didn’t exactly get much better when she was reminded about the French origins of the sculpting teacher before her, hugging her arms about herself, a little ashamed about the turn of phrase for a moment and mumbling a nervous apology almost through her teeth, not meaning to be disrespectful but definitely feeling a smidge on edge since she felt like she’d been stumbling over her own feet, verbally speaking, since Alisa got here.
“Er, yeah, I was more just thinking it’s good to mark in a distinctive color so students don’t mistake your comments with parts of their own answers ya know? But er… I guess it is just more for my own sake right now.” She gave a mildly nervous shrug but tried to focus on the papers so they’d fade soon enough, resting her cheek in her hand as she looked over the first paper, though… “Well I mean… I don’t think that’s really true?” She sat a little more upright. “I mean some things just can’t be explained to a 6 year old, and understanding something and communication of that thing aren’t really the same. I-I don’t mean to be critical but erm… I dunno. I mean do you feel you could confidently explain to a 6 year old why, even if they have the power to do so, some people can’t use their quirks to save people.” She paused in brief thought, before adding. “I mean, you could explain the dangers of someone without danger using their quirk but… for them to accept that or understand it, truly themselves… I dunno. And heck I mean, even if the 6 year old DOES understand it… that doesn’t mean they can explain it to another 6 year… old…”
She trailed off, chuckling nervously as she realized she’d maybe been a bit too critical. “S-sorry I just… I can get a bit weirdly defensive when it comes to clichés like that. Like erm… when someone says blood is thicker than water. I kinda hate those lines… feel like they’re just used to demean people who think differently ya know?” She sighed softly and hung her head. “But… you do have a point. The point of the exam is to see how well they can display the knowledge. Not necessarily how much they personally understand it…”

Alisa had to admit, she did appreciate Yumi's passion. At the end of the day the two were very different people, and, even though she clearly appreciated how much the two had in common, that brightening smile clearly showed Alisa appreciated their differences just as well. Raising a hand over her mouth as she chuckled, she noted how she'd much rather her students ask questions than simply pretending to agree with everything they hear:
"Fufu~ Maybe, maybe not... But at the end of the day, you're not a 6 year old, are you? You're their teacher and in all fairness, if you're giving them a question that they can't reasonably answer in a way even you can understand... What business do you have trying to teach it in the first place?", indeed, Alisa understood this strictness might come off as cruel, especially to someone as open and understanding like Yumi. But exams were a special case, and you can't simply dismiss the ability to get convey one's views, enough for her eyes to narrow, as she answered, "There are many ways to show a clear understanding of the material Ms. Tasukai. But if they cannot do that, how do you hope to differentiate a student who knows from one who does not, without showing bias towards some students?", she pointed out, crossing her arms over the table, leaning in slightly, "Even the least communicative of students can find a way to express it with the proper guidance, and that... That is your job, as their teacher. If a student makes a mistake on their exam... That's not only their failure, but something for you to think about and see where you need to improve upon during class." After all, that is why you have continuous evaluation, grading students according to the knowldged they show and not only what they display in written tests where they may not be as good as their peers. Sighing softly, Alisa leaned back in her chair, brushing her long hair behind her hair as her smile widened: "Showing someone their faults isn't quite the same as demeaning them, really, that depends on how you do it.", spoke the sculptress, cooly smiling as she shook her head, clearly viewing that, while she accepted how some students might not be as expressive as others, she not for a second assumed they could never improve. And if they could improve, it was her job to help them along, "Indeed, that is exactly correct... Your exams should be as objective a measure of knowledge as you can make them, that's all you can ask from a piece of paper. Relying too much on them to give out grades won't do your students any good."

“W-well erm… I don’t expect to teach 6 year olds…” She chuckled a little nervously, she thought she’d spoken about how she wanted to teach at UA itself in the future but that was the least of their troubles in terms of the confusion they seem to have had here, Yumi rubbing her other arm a little nervously. “More I was trying to say erm… if you know a student well enough sometimes you can see their understanding of something even if their communication skills aren’t the beast… like erm…” She snapped her fingers, feeling she had a better analogy. “Take Red Horn! I fully trust she understands what she’s doing, but… she doesn’t have a high school education so I’ve heard? She’d probably find it really hard to explain things she understands. It doesn’t mean she understands them any less? I just… erm…” She sighed again. “Sorry, I get kinda defensive when those lines come up cause I feel they over simplify some issues… bad habit.” She let out a nervous chuckle, not wanting to have really started an argument with the woman here to help her.
As it was mentioned though that there were multiple ways to express things- “And… well that’s exactly what I mean? If I can understand that the student is displaying an understanding of something, but isn’t using like, a specific buzz word mentioned on the scoring sheet, there’s some leniency there right? Im not saying to completely ignore the work they show, just, sometimes a score-sheet can’t always account for the every way a student can express their knowledge…”
Either way, she really hadn’t been aiming for an argument here, rubbing the back of her neck a little nervously. “Though, sorry again. It was a bit of a poorly worded question I suppose. Guess it’d be better to just, see those kind of flaws on test questions, and then explain to the student how to better express their knowledge huh? I never wanted to just ‘give out grades’ more just… I didn’t want to punish a student cause their way of expressing their understanding didn’t meet the paper’s expectation, ya know?”
It was a hard thing to express she supposed, but at the end of the day it was one of those nervous ticks she’d have to work on. Yumi liked seeing the best out of people but that didn’t really translate to ‘hard facts’ stuff like grading papers she supposed…

"Remember our first coversation~? Red Horn is exactly the kind of person I'd imagine would be successful despite her terrible grades~ There's more to a student than having good grades, but as a teacher, it's up to you to find ways to let your students show what they know. That's why few lectures will ever stick without a practical lesson to go with them.", but in the end, Alisa could only chuckle, visibly not really upset at her student in any way, if anything, her love for discussion in any shape of form could easily be called a bad habit in its own right, "I suppose communication skills would be more important to my subject than yours, considering~..." She found no need to say anything more considering the Linguistics sheets Yumi had at hand, motioning slightly towards them... But as Yumi kept talking, the sculptress' eyes widened as she leaned back in her chair softly, folding her arms under her full bosom. Truly there seemed to be a little misunderstanding but in Yumi's defense, that misconception wasn't really her fault to begin with. If anything, Alisa herself should have explained it better instead of assuming the girl would know what she was talking about. But in the end, it shocked her that she'd see that as the default way of grading tests: "Myyyy, I clearly need to have a word with your other teachers if that's the impression we've been giving you~", She winked playfully, chuckling as clearly didn't see any harm in the redhead's inquiry, but quite the opposite, seemed utterly surprised that Yumi saw it as such, tilting her head as she cupped her cheek, "If you're grading written answers exactly like you would multiple choice ones, then... What would even be the purpose of having them?"
In the end, she could only shrug as she leaned back into the table, grabbing her own pen and tapping the butt of it around whichever question her student seemingly looked to, speaking freely: "The guidelines are mostly for you to keep in mind. What subjects are you grading with that question, and how much of the question are they worth? They should be open to interpretation that you can see how well each student goes about meeting them. If you're failing your students because they don't fit inside your strict little boxes... You're not really doing your job right.", she spoke, turning those wine red eyes back up into Yumi's, giggling gracefully at her conclusion, her smile widening as she couldn't help but feel a hint of delight, "Indeed... That is... Exactly how I'd do it, down to a T. As a teacher, you too will learn from your students and find the best way to help them improve. And hey... Tests may be nigh unavoidable, buuuut... You can also choose how much weight they'll have on your student's final score~" Not afraid of bending the rules to her whims and desires, an aloof, self reliant woman like Alisa had her own way of doing things, though she'd readily change, adapt, and evolve it at every turn.

“Yeah, yeah I get it… I guess I just sort of have my goalposts in the wrong place but I’ll adjust. Gotta both teach them the information and how to relay it. Just having an innate knowledge of it like Red Horn or someone isn’t what they need to pass their exams… they need to be able to relay it too.” Relaying that back to her guide felt a bit… defeating, but it was the truth at the end of the day. She had to do the job, even if it wasn’t as idealistic as anyone might hope. “But, yeah, if they approve of the lessons I’d wanna run then it’d be really different than teaching other languages, eheheh…”
She lowered her head a bit at Alisa’s teasing. While normally she might get a bit flustered she was maybe feeling a bit like a dunce right now. This was the part of her teacher training she was struggling with and she felt like she was constantly getting the wrong end of the stick. Of course, Alisa meant no harm in it and she wouldn’t’ take it too seriously, but for a moment at least she felt like… well, a bit of an idiot with the misconceptions she’d been having.
“Sorry, sorry… I guess I er… dunno when to shut up with the questions sometimes… or the backchat if I don’t agree with something. Like… my brain GETS that ‘this is how things are’ but it also… doesn’t, ya know? It just doesn’t register that this is how it all rests into place when there’s a nice way in my head but… I’ve had issues with that before. It’s just how my brain works. Just need to adjust for a bit ya know?”
She offered a sheepish smile, hoping she hadn’t been too much of a pain and turning her eyes to the sheet. She didn’t seem too bothered, quite supportive in fact, Yumi was just starting to get a bit paranoid about her failings here…

"Well, understanding the way things are is only the first step towards changing them for the better.", smiled the sculptress, encouragingly, never the type to dismiss a student's idealism. Ideals without realism are merely foolishness but cold hard reality without any ideals soon grows jaded, complacent, unimaginative, "I'm quite certain though, merely watching you think of every student even before you start means you could make a far more competent teacher than most." Reaching out, Alisa smiled and rested a hand over the girl's as she held her red pen, that cool smile widening as she silently hoped Yumi never threw away this side of herself as she grew... That her learning process wouldn't turn away this wide eyed hopefulness that made her so vibrant a person to be around: "Well, I'll do what I can to help you adjust but...", she shrugged and shook her head, peeling her hand away and tucking a loose lock behind her hear, "I can show you as many ways as possible but in the end, it's up to you to choose which to follow, or whether to sculpt your own from your own experiences. Just keep in mind..." Alisa took a long, deep breath, sensing the girl's embarassment, and even though she couldn't help but curl her lip, feeling a distinctive, less than pleasant part of herself noting how cute she looked, almost daring her to tease her a bit more, the sculptress felt her student needed something else and simply smiled, addressing her in a very different fashion than she usually did: "...I'm not here to judge you, Yumi~... You're already somebody I acknowledge."

“Mmm… If you say so.” She kinda just, nervously submitted to that nugget of wisdom from her teacher, not entirely agreeing with it but not having enough of an example to the contrary to make a stink about it either. Besides she’d already put her foot in her mouth plenty here already, no reason to cause any more issues over something so innocuous. She did smile a little though at the compliment to her potential prospects, lowering her gaze a little as she took it in. She just worried a little now she might have cared a smidge too much. She wanted to be a teacher afterall cause she’d be one of the first people to go through this kind of education and she wanted to teach the following generation. Maybe that meant she was a little ‘too close’ to the situation or something.
Her amber gaze shifted across as her teacher put a hand on her (presumably her shoulder) blinking across to her, wondering if she was being touched just to politely point out an error she’d made in trying to grade the pre-test paper but listening to Alisa talk she did feel a little more at ease. Her Mentor offering her a guiding hand without feeling like she was being forced in a direction in regards to her methods either… that was a nice change of pace in how people tried to teach her about things…
“Er… thanks Miss…. Y-you erm…” She felt a little out of place all of a sudden, glancing about herself and adjusting the shoulder of her top before easing out of her seat. “Y-you want a drink or something? I mean we’re probably gonna be sat here going through these things for a while afterall. May as well get comfy first…” She rubbed at the side of her arm, just now realizing she should have offered that when Alisa stepped in.
