Night at Tokyo Park was a place of contrasts; there were vastly different reasons one might find themselves here. A young couple sat together on a bench, gentle words exchanged in sweet murmurs. He leaned in and put his lips to her ear; she shuddered her breath coming out in a small cloud. Not far away three men stood in a circle, hands in their pockets, one of them shivvered and cursed. A cigarette burned in his lips while they waited, he tossed it down with a grunt-another man coming in from the side and clasping hands with him. They laughed before moving further into the park. And then there was Sonya.
Sonya was here for the park itself. The natural beauty that she could not appreciate in the cruel light of the sun. Here, in the dead of night, with the soothing aura of the moon and stars overhead and the lamp posts radiating their healing grace on her skin, she could at last savor the aesthetic that she'd missed so much. How long had it been since she'd gone on a quiet walk among the trees, just to clear her mind? She tugged a bit at her sweater and pulled the scarf a bit higher on her face; obscuring her mouth and nose. Glowing pink eyes swept across the path in front of her before looking over a small collection of white flowers that had been bred for these chilling climates.
She smiled; It had been far too long.
A sound broke through the peaceful silence, a strange sound that gave her immediate pause. She flicked her head to the left and right; looking for the source. "...what on earth?" | TAG WORDS NOTES

Viviane liked to think that she was an okay worker. She did her job, sometimes adding even adding more onto her workload when asked. She didn’t complain much, only speaking up when she was being made to do something unreasonable. She even got along with her coworkers and superiors, except the ones that didn’t like Quirkers, they would always dislike her no matter what she did. Still, she had to wonder who had that much of a problem with her that her normal hours had been kicked to the dead of night. She had met people that thought that the night was beautiful, she let them think that. Her own opinion was that working as a courier at night was asking for trouble, tempting fate, or something like that. With a sigh, a messenger bag with a few small boxes inside slung on her shoulder, and uniform with cap on she took off to do her job.
She controlled her breathing and ran at half her full speed. She didn’t have much to deliver this evening so there was no reason to rush to get everything done before morning. She breathed out a sigh as the familiar feeling of her heart slowly starting to beat faster pounded in her chest. Soon the increasing rate of beats and volume was enough to make the usual sound of an engine, her Quirk was now in full effect. She let the sound of her Quirk tear the evening’s silence as she cut through Tokyo Park for a shorter route.

The sound was... dramatic to say the least. Like the slow wind up of a locomotive, a strange churning sound that grew louder with each moment. Yet the pacing was off; not quite a locomotive, it was more like that of a heartbeat than anything else. Sonya wondered at the sound; it was unlike anything she'd ever heard before. She turned again, looking for the source of the unsettling noise. It tore through the silence of the park; unbidden, it's rampage drawing the attention of all present. The intensity dazzled the villain; drawing her attention further in toward the center of the park. There was a path there, and the sound seemed to be heading in that direction. She narrowed her eyes, her night-vision focusing and refocusing in the dead of night to compensate for the ambient lamp posts.
There. Just a few dozen yards away, a girl was running through the park. All of her focus on going forward, her intent on leaving the park as fast as she could. It was no wonder; the angry glances that began to come her way even as she breezed past them faster than any natural human possibly cloud. Sonya's lip curled, how fascinating she thought. She made her way toward the path, taking pains to keep as close to the route as possible in order to draw attention to herself. She let the shimmering of her skin disappear and be replaced by the normal ambient pale-glow. That would be enough to get the girl to stop. She stood in the girls way and stared at the sky for a few heartbeats; silver hair falling all around her, before turning to look her way.
She smiled and held a finger up to her lips; "In a hurry?" She asked aloud, trying to keep eye contact with the girl. | TAG WORDS NOTES

‘Keep going Vivi, don’t pay any attention to them.’ Vivi thought to herself as she tore through the park with her speed as her heart tore through the eerie peaceful silence. In a way she did feel sorry about the little disturbance that she was causing, to the people just out for a quiet evening under the stars and to the people who were probably there with their crush or person they were in a relationship with. But she didn’t want to spend the time saying sorry to each person that gets annoyed with her Quirk. It was far better to minimize being around others instead of apologizing.over and over for an involuntary reaction of her body.
“Eh?!” She couldn’t help the squeak that came out of her mouth as a woman suddenly started glowing and made her stop. To Viviane the woman that had gotten her attention was akin to those kinds of women you only hear about or see in magazines or tv. “Ah? I’m...am I disturbing you miss?” She said in response, jogging in place to keep her heart going. “And...kinda? Is there something I can help you with?” She wondered what would cause someone like her to talk to her.

The squeak was more than a little adorable. Sonya's lips curled, the glow fading to a simmer before turning into a glittering on her skin. It was as if Sonya had bathed herself in diamond dust. She rolled her neck and let out a sigh; eyeing the girl with a playful glint in her artificial eyes. The glowing pink spheres in her head seemed to flicker when the lenses inside of them spun to readjust to the smallest changes in lighting. To her, the world was perfectly lit, though the colors were a bit distorted. She clasped her own elbows in a relaxed pose, arms crossed over her abdomen. "Yes, as a matter of fact there is something you could help me with, I'd like to know where that absolutely dazzling sound came from. Incredible; is that you?" She gushed, nodding toward her while she jogged in place.
"I apologize for holding you up, though, if you're in a hurry perhaps I can help you get to where you'd like to go. I have a car waiting," She offered, extending an easy hand and making lazy eye contact. "Think of it as an apology and a payment for you telling me more," She suggested. She knew that no one did anything for free, and that asking for something for free was imbecilic, just as offering help for free would do nothing but draw suspicion. Making it seem like a fair deal for both sides was the best way to get a person to agree to do anything. At least, thats how it was in her experience. | TAG WORDS NOTES

Viviane was taken aback by how this lady was acting, her expression tightening into stoicism. She had never met anyone that described the roaring of her heart as ‘absolutely dazzling’. Most people just took token interest in it or just noted that it was a part of her Quirk and fixated on said Quirk, though technically she had only met one of the latter kind. If she’d been standing still then she would have taken a step back in discomfort but she kept her slow pace of jogging in place to keep her heart rate up. “Well, yes?” She hesitantly answered the woman’s question. “I...wouldn’t call it dazzling, it’s loud and...raucous.” She tapped the area of her chest that was close to her heart. “It’s my heart that’s making the noise.”
“Well...it’s not that far and this path was supposed to be a shortcut…” She muttered to herself as she took out her phone and started messing around with it, mumbling to herself. ‘I don’t need a car ride...but it would shorten the run and I could clock out earlier…’ Her eyes looked away from her phone and landed on the lady again before going back. ‘This is a weird night.’ She concluded in her head as she put away her phone.”I’ll take the car ride?” She found herself saying almost questioningly.

The girl wasn't... tense. Just hesitant. Admittedly Sonya had not exactly pitched herself in a reasonable way. She was over-eager, which was natural given that the quirk she'd encountered was so fascinating. She could already imagine ways to take advantage of that thunderous heart of hers. Her heart! What an amazing consequence of quirk evolution. What if her scientists managed to harness that sound, converting that audible energy into a pressurized... she got ahold of herself. Best to leave that kind of thinking to the individuals who had the background in it. She was no fool, she respected the work her men did and wouldn't walk all over it for the sake of making herself look good.
With a coy smile, she inclined her head, draping one hand at her waist and the other in the direction of the car awaiting them both. It was true that she had a car ready and waiting, but it was usually for a getaway. In case her...urges kicked in and she left a corpse in the park behind. She wanted to make sure she was able to get as far away from the scene as possible when it happened. Now, though, she found herself curious about the girl in more ways than one. Her mumbling and fidgeting were adorable; to be sure, but it was something else that struck Sonya. Though she couldn't quite put her finger on it just yet. For now, she'd draw what information she could out of her.
A quick walk was all it took for them to arrive at the car; it was a four-door vehicle with the rear section elongated just a little to allow for a very comfortable ride. Essentially a low-profile limousine. The driver got out and opened the door for the two of them, giving Viviane a careful look before the two of them slid inside. All over the vehicle were logos for the ASTA corporation and specifically, there was a notebook for the support gear division of the corporation laying on the passenger's seat near where Viviane would sit down. "Now, where did you need to go dearie?" | TAG WORDS NOTES

Viviane wasn’t sure how to react to the fact that this strange woman that had approached her in the middle of the night in the just had a limousine waiting for her. ‘Viviane what have you gotten yourself into?’ She thought to herself as she rolled with the punches, sliding into the limousine after the woman. She sank into the car seat’s cushions as she tried to relax just a little bit. She could feel her heat starting to slow, hell she could even here the loud engine noises that it made start to wane off bit by bit.
“It’s uh, it’s not really that far.” She started to explain. “It’s down the road by quite a bit and then a left turn. I know what it looks like so I’ll just say stop when we’re there....” She turned her gaze away and shifted uncomfortably in her seat, she’d never been in a limousine before, she was a bit afraid of moving more than she was now in fear that she might break something. “So..you’re very well off, aren't you miss?” She asked after a few seconds of uncomfortable silence. “Must be nice...so...uh...why did you get interested in me?” She leaned back against the seat. “I mean, I’m not all that interesting, just a courier with a sometimes loud Quirk.”

Sonya tilted her head and listened to the girl's instructions. She glanced up at the driver who nodded his understanding and began to drive. She crossed her long legs and leaned back into the comfort of her seat. The driver eased the vehicle out of his parking space, he was a little confused that they were leaving so suddenly but he knew better than to not question his eccentric boss. Sonya liked to pick up strange quirk users and this girl was certainly one of them. It was honestly no surprise in that aspect at the very least. She placed her hands in her lap and regarded Viviane with a smile. "Well off? I suppose I am, yes, I am a businesswoman after all..." She said pleasantly before reaching for a cooler at her feet and drawing out a bottle of water. She handed it to the girl.
She almost laughed when the girl made her point; "Dear me! Just the sound of your quirk should get any reasonably intelligent person curious. I can hardly imagine what you might be capable of with the right training and support equipment. I saw you running, so fast, incredible..." She said, putting her hand against her heart. "I must ask, is that your heart making the sound? It's stunning to say the least," She could already think of a few ways to take advantage of the sound. Her scientists had been working on a sound amplifier and a nullifier for a while now, what if they were combined? The sound nullified to ease her daily life and amplified when she wanted to unleash something truly terrific. Awe inspiring even. Directed sound waves could cause a great deal of damage. Oh Sonya was grinning now. She forced herself to calm down and took a breath, adjusting her hair.
"My company deals with support gear for Quirkers, clothing designed to help in daily living, that kind of thing..." she smiled "I cannot think of a better candidate for someone who could truly take advantage of our services." | TAG WORDS NOTES

"I, uh, I'm very flattered that you think that miss..." She hesitantly spoke the truth. The entire situation was off to her, flattering as it was something just didn't feel right. She chalked that up to her just being wary of being in a limo with a stranger. Her hand reached out and grabbed the water being handed to her. She drew it closer to her chest but didn't open it yet. "I haven't actually met anyone that works with making gear for Quirkers...well maybe one other but I think it was just clothes and stuff. Had to carry a battering ram for her shop for some reason..." She talked, her hands snapping the cap off of the bottle instead of twisting it open. She squeezed the bottle into her mouth, emptying it of its contents in a few seconds. "Thank you, running always gets me thirsty."
"Yeah, the sound is my heart..." She found herself saying. "It's really the main effect. My Quirk is called King Engine. It makes my body much better with physical things, like running or hitting stuff...I mostly use it for running. It's always on but the loud engine sound doesn't come into effect until I really get going." She leaned back slightly on her seat. "Sometimes it's in the middle of work, sometimes it’s in the middle of exercise, sometimes its in the middle of a very good action or horror movie. Anything that gets my heart beating faster makes it go rrrrrrrr.”
She looked out the window. “Oh it’s right there!” She said, pointing to a building on the side of the road. “Stopping here should be good. Thank you for the ride miss.” She adjusted her position and got ready to exit the limousine, watching through the window as her destination grew closer.

Sonya's lip curled a little at her flustered response. Getting so pointedly lauded by a stranger was an easy way to get caught off guard. Sonya tilted her head and squinted a little when she clutched at the water, snapping the cap off with a surprising amount of flourish. Sonya smiled; oh this was going to be a lot of fun. "Oh dearie, I don't just make gear for quirkers, my company designs it; custom made to make your life just a little bit better..." She pointed out, reaching over and brushing a single lock of hair back into place on the girl's head. She nodded benevolently when she thanked her for the water. "You're welcome,"
Sonya crossed her legs and leaned back in her seat, allowing her full regal visage to be plain. Elegant lines in an all-white color pallet, her pink eyes glowed just a little but it was evened out by the pale white glow that hung around her like a halo. "King Engine, what a name," She mused and tilted her head; "So your engine makes that sound when you get excited?" She asked, a playful smile decorating her face as they drew closer to the target location. The destination drew closer and closer until finally they pulled up just where the girl said she needed to be. Just before she allowed the doors to unlock; Sonya leaned forward and touched the girl on the chin, she got close enough that Viviane could see the lenses twisting and adjusting in Sonya's artificial eyes; "Finish your work and come back to see me; I might have work for you too. And as you can imagine, I pay very well~"
When Viviane got out of the car and shut the door, Sonya would lean back; "Ara ara~ What a delight," She laughed, crossing her legs again and tapping the driver glass; it opened. "When she gets back take us to headquarters," The driver nodded and she looked back out the window. "Lets see how far we can go with this little game." | TAG WORDS NOTES

Vivian climbed off the luxurious vehicle slightly flustered. She’d never had anyone pay this much attention to her and she didn’t know how to feel. Part of her liked the attention while another was screaming for her to be wary. “Not now, I let’s finish this delivery and think about this later.” She muttered to herself as she entered the building to make her delivery.
The inside of the building was plain. A few plush seats near coffee tables, a couple of potted plants, a pigeon hole for letters with a panel and lock to prevent theft, and a security table with a guard manning it. She waved at the guard and sent a small smile that way but the guard just maintained a solemn expression. ‘Working nights really gets to everyone huh.’ She thought as she approached the guard with her bag and pulled out a clipboard. “Good evening, I’m from....” She began to fulfill her duties as a courier.
It wasn’t long until she exited through the building’s front doors, her messenger bag looking empty and feeling lighter. It was one of those residential buildings that made the couriers leave the packages and have the person in the desk sign off on it.
“Now…” She stared at the limousine as she started to think of what to do. The lady seemed nice, if a bit too touchy, and she was offering her work. She didn’t know what work but she could at least see what she was being offered. If she didn’t like the offer she could always walk away and continue working for Night Owl Express Delivery Services. “Alright…” Hesitantly she approached the limousine again and slowly made her way to her seat.
“Okay, let’s talk about the work you have for me…” She said as she leaned back into the seat.

Sonya leaned back in her seat and stared at the back of the drivers head while they waited. The girl had departed for just a few minutes and the driver shifted once in his seat. She smiled; "You don't think she's coming back," She said. He shrugged; "Always a chance, ma'am, she seemed skittish," he said. She nodded and glanced out the window. "How about a bet? Ten on her coming back?" She offered, reaching into her pocket and pulling out a ten yen coin. He laughed and pulled out one of his own, showing it to her; "You are the strangest boss I've ever had, I'm in."
She sniffed and raised an eyebrow at him, checking her nails and glancing out the window again. It was another few minutes before she exited the building's front doors, it looked like she'd completed her task and was heading straight for the car. The slight ping sound of a coin flipping through the air caught Sonya's attention and she reached out to catch the ten yen piece that left the driver's seat. "Curiosity is a lethal poison to a young lady, Abel, don't forget that," She winked at him in the mirror. He looked up and tipped his hat; "I"ll remember that, ma'am," He said thoughtfully.
The girl slipped into the car and she turned, smiling, and nodded when she tried to resume the conversation; "Work is a word for it," She said as the car began to move; "I'd like to contract you as a courier, you'd be paid well of course as you deliver things for me, private deliveries, in exchange I will put a small team to work designing gear for you and your quirk; see if we can't give you a bit of an edge going forward. Now... as you might understand there are some lines we must be careful not to cross when it comes to making you equipment, I hope you understand that..." She said, leaning a little closer and smiling. "...if this sounds good to you, then we can make it a deal, mm?" | TAG WORDS NOTES

Viviane was careful to think over the work offer that the woman was offering to her. So far it sounded like she’d be doing exactly what she was already doing for Night Owl Express Delivery Services only with a different employer. She supposed that getting paid well and being supplied with gear could be considered a raise, and if stretched, also a promotion. Though she did have to wonder why gear was a part of it. She’d never really had a use for gear. “Uh…” She awkwardly shifted in her seat. “If you don’t mind me asking, what’s the gear for?”
She rapidly brought up a hand. “Don’t get me wrong, the offer sounds great and I’m leaning towards accepting it, but I’m just not sure what I’ll use the gear for, I’ll just be delivering stuff for you after all.” She paused to think about it even more. “And is it even alright for me to even have gear? Sorry, I’m not familiar with laws for quirked civilians having gear…” Then again she only did know the very basics of Quirk laws.
She thought for a few more moments. “But aside from that I guess I’m fine with the offer you’ve brought up, would I be working for you and you alone or am I working under a company you have. Also how much am I getting paid and when would you like me to start? I do have to turn in my resignation to my superiors tomorrow.” The loud pounding off her heart was starting to slow and soften. “And one moment please…” She suddenly sank into her seat with a tired groan. The aftereffects of her ‘engine’ dying down wracking her with exhaustion and nausea. She gave her body a moment to normalize, to recover from the drawback of her Quirk, and mentally thanked whatever god was listening that the drawback didn’t scale with how long her ‘engine’ was on.

Sonya tilted her head to the right, a smile crossing her lips. It was a little curious that she'd be so concerned with things like that, but Sonya didn't question it. Of course, it made sense for the girl to be hesitant. It was not normal for an offer like this to fall into one's lap. But nothing about this world was normal anymore and it had been simply by chance that they had met. Sonya put her hands in her lap and turned to face her proplerly, her head tilted forward to look the girl in the eyes.
"Article Seven, Subsection One, of the National Quirk Oversight Act, A quirked individual may possess equipment that supports them in such a way that allows them to perform their day to day activities, work for a living, or otherwise live a normal, natural life, with regards to the form and function of their quirk," She said simply, tilting her head to the right and offering a bright, closed-eyed smile, "I'm an industry specialist when it comes to support gear. I know how it works, dearie," She laughed.
She tilted her head to the driver who began to move the vehicle. "I am willing to offer you five hundred thousand yen a month to start. Broken up into weekly deposits," She said, with the average living expenses of a single person in tokyo being three hundred thousand yen that was a great deal left over. She reclined a little and turned to face forward; "You should relax a little, is there anything you can take to help with ... that?" She asked, curious about the odd paleness in the girls face. Was she nauseous? | TAG WORDS NOTES
